I feel we have have just a little representation of different bodies in Percy Jackson universe :/ yet the fandom doesn't give a shit abt it. Frank Zhang was the ONLY fat guy who are important and then suddenly he is skinny. It really breaks my heart. I had a friend who felt so sad with it because finally he found a character who looks like him. Rick was genuinely a jerk for his one.

Fact Time
So, today I woke up and chose violence. This post is directed at Destiel fans in the Supernatural fandom and Buddie fans in the 9-1-1 fandom. I think the majority of you fans, need to learn how to separate fiction from reality. Fact # 1: Dean is not gay. He is not bisexual. He is not anything other than straight, which is how the character has been portrayed through the entire show.
Fact 2: Destiel is not canon, never has been canon, and never will be canon.
Fact 3: What is canon, is that Cas admitted he's in love with Dean. In a romantic way, and not just a best friend way. Fact 4: Dean has never said he is in love with Cas. He has called Cas his best friend ever since Cas joined the show in season 4.
Fact 5: Eddie is not gay. He is not bisexual. He is not anything other than straight, which is how the character has been portrayed through the entire show.
Fact 6: Buddie is not canon, never has been canon, and never will be canon.
Fact 7: What is canon, is that Eddie literally said he is straight in season 8 of 9-1-1. It's not to throw fans off the scent to pull a surprise scene later. It's literally the show's way of telling Buddie fans that these two characters are just best friends and family, nothing more, and to go write and enjoy fanfiction. Fact 8: Neither Buck or Eddie have said they're in love with each other. They have said they love each other like brothers, like family.
Fact 9: Fanon is a thing. A wonderful, beautiful thing. In fanon you can make whatever you want happen, like Destiel, or Buddie. But please remember that it's just fanon and not canon in any way shape or form.
Fact 10: Supernatural was not homophobic for not putting Dean and Cas together. Yes, the show aired on what was considered the 'gay channel' at the time, the CW, who liked to shoehorn in gay and bi characters and a ton of poc characters to be overly inclusive and I for one, have no problem with that. What I have a problem with, is people accusing the show of queerbaiting, when it wasn't queerbaiting. They never said Dean and Cas were together. For the majority of the show they never said either character was gay or bi. The only thing the show said, before Cas's revelation, was that the two were best friends.
I know those fans are going to bitch in the comments and I'm ready for it. The block button is a beautiful thing and it keeps me from having to listen to the lunatics. However, if you are a Destiel or Buddie fan who knows the actual difference between canon and fanon and wants to talk to me about either show or sets of characters, I'm happy to do so.

Why are people so mean about Sam? Even if they hate Lestat, Sam is NOT Lestat. He is an actor. Lestat is a fictional character.
Oh gosh, anon! I mean - - yeah. Mmmm, look, I had a surprise friend over this evening, and have had a few wines, so yeah, let's talk about this.
I think there are a few factors at play overall, but having been here for a while now, honesetly, I think it's a combination of virtue signaling, and a portion of fans feeling like he's simply fair game in a way the rest of the cast isn't.
I don't know, this might end up being a controversial post, but I think it's pretty impossible to deny that a large portion of the animosity in this fandom is directed towards him, and I do think a significant part of that comes down to the fact that this is a fandom who - and I hate this term - considers itself 'woke'. People are very, very conscious about how they're perceived in this sort of landscape, and I do think it effectively leads to that horseshoe theory, where people are posturing to the point of radicalising themselves around things they don't necessarily believe.
In a lot of ways Sam, as the white lead of the show opposite Jacob, Assad and Delainey, becomes symbolic, and the fact that he's got wealth behind him, and - it sounds silly to say, but I think it's true - pretty privilege in being very conventionally handsome, I think eats people up. I think they feel he's symbolic of rich white men in the media landscape and - fascinatingly - I think they still want to fuck him. I think that manifests in a whole bunch of ways (it's obviously very prevalent in the fic that gets posted in this fandom), but particularly in this sort of vitriolic stalking which honestly feels a bit female-incel-y to me.
I think the rest of the cast are targeted in different ways - I answered an ask just last week about how Jacob's opinion is often written off by portions of the fandom because he's British and light skinned, and I've certainly witnessed a lot of colourism in this fandom in every direction. I also personally feel the feminisation of Louis (and Jacob) sometimes (not always! But sometimes) has an element of fetishising his emasculation and subjugation that I personally find actually pretty racist and disturbing, and I think Assad and Armand both are divorced from their South Asian heritage more than Assad should be as an actor, and the show's Armand as a character, and that I've seen (and been sent!) some pretty gross comparisons betwen Delainey and Bailey.
I don't know. I'm not trying to judge or condemn anyone, I just observe and think lot, I guess, and I do think this fandom is made up of a lot of people who grew up on the internet who are arriving with Discourse as opposed to compassion borne from real life experiences. That includes twitter threads over human conversations, porn over sex, and ephemeral 'mutuals' over real friends. I'm not judging that, I hope people know at this point that I never would - it's been a really hard five years - but I do think this sort of aggregation online has resulted in these sorts of subculture pockets of people who live with an idea of what is 'good' and what is 'bad'. And yeah, a part of that means finding Sam hot as a white man from a wealthy background in a show with many POC becomes an issue! BUT, if they can virtue signal over not being interested in Sam, they can fantasise about Lestat, y'know? They can tell everyone Sam's 'bad' as they write their fics about Lestat fucking Louis (or a self-insert, or Louis, as a self-insert) five ways from Sunday, because Lestat's not real, and Sam is, so they remain Moral in the overall Discourse that exists only in the subcultures online.
Oof. Okay, sorry, that's a little harsh, even to me having just written it, haha. Mm, like I said, I think there are a few things at play, but I do think that there is a degree of projection that's pretty impossible to deny, just as I feel Sam is a vehicle for the frustrations people have with the show. I think maybe people are reluctant to explicitly criticise Jacob, Assad and Delainey (again, I stress explicitly, because I think people do it plenty in other ways), and Sam does kind of feel a bit like fair game in that sense. I think he becomes an outlet for people's frustrations with the show in a way the other actors don't, and I think that's tied both to his whiteness and the fact that he's about to be the lead.
I think a lot of that is subconscious though, or at least I hope it is, and built perhaps on anxiety over where the show's going to go over all, especially from people who refuse to see Lestat as the inevitable protagonist.

I'm partially glad that Obey Me is ending because the writing is not great. With the many plot holes and unanswered questions, the story can be hard to navigate. Mammon's character as a whole, being the comic relief as a whole and visibly a poc, that the writers use as a personal punching bag despite having so much to him. Mammon has familiars of crows, based off how much he likes a person, they find themselves with riches or plain on broke, and oversees all types of Greed. Any human with a pact with him has amazing luck. AND THEY NEVER MENTIONED IT AGAIN??? Lesson 16 as a whole and how its never mentioned again??? And MC isn't traumatized from literally dying??? Belphegor can literally trap people in their dreams, create a literal dimensioned for dreams that he can control and send others there??? NEVER MENTIONED AGAIN. The fact that Diavolo's skin color is so inconsistent that it's treated as a fandom joke (He gets darker when he's in his demon form???) and not a product of colorism like where's his color palate??? Also the fact that Diavolo is insanely overpowered and his abilities and rarely mentioned (Being able to stop time???). He is considered an anomaly to demons because of his minor healing magic, which demons cannot do. We still have a few lessons of Nightbringer left and I still have a few questions about other characters such as Micheal, Lilith, the Demon King and Diavolo's mother. I don't know how they are going to fit all this.

Which Star Trek series should you start with?
The Original Series: Advantages: + The one that started it all + Has some sophisticated and socially conscious science fiction that has held up exceptionally well + The lead characters all have really good chemistry and fun to see play off of one another + It's what most people probably think of when you say Star Trek (together with TNG) Disadvantages: - It can feel very dated and kind of sexist, particularly in its treatment of women - The sci-fi and social commentary may have held up, but damn it, the special effects really haven't - When TOS is bad, it's really, really bad.
The Animated Series: Advantages: + Basically just more TOS. Disadvantages: - Basically just more TOS, but substituting extremely cheap animation for bad special effects
The Next Generation: Advantages: + Probably the most popular one at this point + The crew is full of interesting characters and they're fun to spend time with + Just really smart people solving Space Mysteries + Socialist space utopia + Geordi-And-Data! + Lots of cool sci-fi concepts and social commentary + It's what most people probably think of when you say Star Trek (together with TOS) Disadvantages: - Although not in the same way as TOS, it can feel dated at times, particularly in terms of its treatment of women and it's near complete refusal to acknowledge queerness - Without wanting to bias viewer opinion, the first season is widely considered to be pretty bad - The series makes no bones about the fact that the socialist space utopia is better than every other society that has ever existed and will reiterate this point over and over again
Deep Space Nine: Advantages: + The most popular Trek series on Tumblr + Has a complete story arc, as well as arcs for all of its characters, including the extremely minor ones + Plain, simple, Garak. The humble tailor. + Garashir, if you're into that + Seriously has a really sophisticated treatment of things like post-colonial politics, anthropology, worldbuilding, and the horrors of warfare + Just the characters in general + Is the only Star Trek prior to the 2010s to even look meaningfully at queer representation Disadvantages: - Has an absolutely massive inferiority complex with respect to TNG and this drives a few poor writing decisions that seemingly exist just to poke the Socialist Space Utopia in its eye - Introduces a space religion and then just slowly turns it into Christianity with the numbers filed off - Seems to think that sexual harassment is just a quirky eccentricity - There's no women in its writers' room, and frankly it shows
Voyager: Advantages: + Probably the clearest instance of found family in space + Lots of really good episodes + Lots of fun new characters + Strong female role models + "Set a course...for home." Disadvantages: - Continuity? I never knew her! - Probably about 90% of Trek's reputation for technobabble comes from this one series - Even less queerness than TNG. - Only like...3 characters actually get arcs. - The first few seasons lean very hard into bullshit fake "Native American" spiritualism with one of the characters - How do these guys have warp drive but can't find any water?
Enterprise: Advantages: + Chronologically the first series + 90% less technobabble + The only series to plausibly frame our heroes as astronauts...on some kind of...star trek. + Still has probably the best production values of any series + Makes alien cultures of the week feel somehow richer and deeper than other series + Faith of the Heart is good, fuck you. Disadvantages: - Oh my god, the decon scenes - Seriously, if you've ever wondered what a "sexy" series written by a 14 year old boy who's only ever seen a bit of scrambled softcore porn on late-night cable would be like, this is the show for you - Somehow feels more sexist and racist than the show from the '60s - Seriously, the POC characters mostly exist to fill seats on the bridge; the women constantly have to undress themselves - Hellooooo, Bush II-era political analogies - Scott Bakula is a good actor but you wouldn't know it from this series - In season 3, they add a tambourine beat to Faith of the Heart and ruin it
Discovery: Advantages: + Noticed the lack of queer characters in the first 50 years of Star Trek canon and decided to make up for lost time + Seriously, the "Bury Your Gays" tally for this series is like...negative two + Just incredible representation in general + Some really good science fiction plots, particularly in later series + Some really fun, memorable characters + It's still running, so it has an active fandom on Tumblr Disadvantages: - Makes Elon Musk out to be one of the great visionary geniuses of history - Not really representative of Star Trek as a whole - The series swerves wildly in tone because of constant, behind-the-scenes churn in the writers' room - Offputtingly grimdark first season - Let's be honest, none of the season-long arcs have actually had satisfying conclusions - Half the cast feels like it's just there for exposition and to be killed for cheap drama
Picard: Advantages: + Has the best dramatic acting of any Star Trek series by a fair margin + Has the best musical score of any Star Trek series + Introduces a whole crew of fascinating new characters + Introduces all kinds of fascinating transhumanist concepts + AGNES. JURATI. Disadvantages: - You know all of those fascinating new characters that I mentioned? Yeah, it unceremoniously gets rid of all of them to bring back the old TNG gang. - You know that all of those fascinating transhumanist concepts that I mentioned? Yeah, it gets rid of those too so that to give us some generic action - Oh my god, someone teach the set designers to operate a fucking light switch - Grimdark - Nossssstalgia - Each season is basically unrelated to every other season - Depends so heavily on TNG that its final season is basically unwatchable if you haven't already seen a 30-year-old TV series
Lower Decks: Advantages: + It has probably the most efficient storytelling that I've ever seen; seriously, it's incredible how much it can fit into a half hour episode + It has a bunch of delightful, archetypical characters you get to know and love + You like hanging out with these people + The ship is kind of crap and you will learn to love it that way. + Basically a sitcom version of TNG. + Has a big fandom on Tumblr Disadvantages: - The art style is pretty Rick & Morty-ish - It takes most of its first season to really strike a good balance between being a sitcom and being a Star Trek series - The main character, Mariner, is kind of unlikable for the first season or so (she gets better) - Lots of callbacks to other series (though always either incidental or clearly explained) - Given that it's the first Star Trek sitcom, the comedy is honestly kinda the weakest part? Subjective I know.
Prodigy: Advantages: + Absolutely gorgeous to look at; the most visually stunning Star Trek by quite a ways + Lots of fun new characters on a cool ship + Gives you clear on-boarding notes to the Star Trek franchise if you're watching it for the first time + Can be watched on its own, but also works as a direct sequel to Voyager and a prequel to Picard (making both of them retoractively better, in fact) + Kind of like the Clone Wars or Rebels of the Star Trek universe, I guess? + Found family in space! The next generation! + Soon to be running on Netflix, so if you already have a Netflix subscription, you don't need to pay for another service + Written for a younger audience. Not necessarily an advantage, but nice if you happen to like family friendly animation or YA. Disadvantages: - *sigh* You basically need to pirate it. Thanks, Paramount. - Has a second season that we may or may not ever actually get to see even through piracy. Thanks, Paramount. - Isn't airing on the same streaming service as all of the other ones. Thanks, Paramount
Strange New Worlds: Advantages: + Basically what the original series would be if it were released today, rather than 57 years ago; all of the cool, socially consciousness sci-fi adventure, none of the weird 60s sexism + Fun, awesome characters you get to like spending time with right away + Incredible visuals + Nifty sci-fi concepts, mostly without the 90s-style technobabble Disadvantages: - A huge cast with only ten episodes a season, so many of them feel underdeveloped - Unfortunately, a bunch of its characters are younger versions of the characters from The Original Series, and they hog most of the spotlight; and the characters whose futures aren't locked in stone are kind of treated as disposable - In general, it needs to spend less time being a prequel, and more time being its own thing - "What if Starfleet ran into the Xenomorphs from Alien?" "Well, they'd probably kill them." "Okay, let's spend several episodes on this."

Well it's that time again for another JJK rant.
So by this point I would assume that most of you know my eternal hatred towards the enemies to lovers trope when it comes to Gojo x reader stories right.
Well we are back at it again cause I am hoping people know that this type of relationship isn't one that Gojo would ever go for. Like it's one of those things that the fandom latched on to like My Hero Academia Hawks being a flirty playboy. It's not something that fits the character but it something that so many people latched on to that they now believe that it's a thing.
Like Gojo knows his worth and value. He literally dislikes those that he views as stuck up or just down right unlikeable. Aka every reader in the enemies to lovers trope. Like you are telling me you hate this guy for no reason but it's okay because your only saving grace is that he finds you attractive.
Seriously.
That is the how 95% of them go. Also to even it out they would make Gojo do some out of pocket stuff to justify the reader treating him like dirt while also always making him the bad guy even if he did nothing wrong.
I am so sick of this copy and paste trope. Now I know i don't have to read it which I don't. If I see it I keep scrolling. Although there are gems I sadly just skip past them because I'm used to the bad and boring ones. (Lowkey reminds me of the dumbest Gojo x reader story on wattpad called Debt. Freaking dumbest reader/mc I have ever read couldn't even get past the first few chapters. The first and only time this has happened)
Another thing is bad reverse harem stories. Like I don't care the reader is 18! Why are men close to their 30s trying to have a relationship with them? Why is said 18 year old trying to have a romantic relationship with freshly turned 15 year old? Look 18 maybe considered an adult but it's still gross and it would have been better if the reader was 20 and up. Also if you want your reader to have love interests that are 15 then they should at least be under 18.
I am sick of gross age gaps, don't care if you are 20 years old dating a 30, 40, or whatever just make it legal! 18 isn't a cheat code!
Also harems suck since they either end up with no one, end up with someone not in the harem, or worst not even completed. Yet, the biggest crime is as I said it before the gross 18 year old cheat code.
Finally the last of my random rant which has to deal with genders and sexyal orientation. Stop writing about boy x boy if you are only going to stereotype them. Yes gay mean may like to be more of the feminine side but NOT all of them. Not all males who prefer to be a bottom want to wear feminine clothes and act like a femboy.
Not all trans people want to be just a title! Don't include them if you are not even going to try! Same with the non binary or gender neutrals. Don't include them but give traits that have a gender that goes against their stances. It's wrong.
Also I lied this is my final rant. Stop saying it's a reader story if you are not going to be neutral. For example giving a reader appearances that instantly alienate a reader. Sure I understand fem reader or male reader tags but to then give them hairstyles, skin tones that alienate others, or ect. I'm a POC (Person of color) and it sucks when you are reading something and instantly shown you are not included. Luckily the anime community is slowly but surely getting more inclusive. No I'm talking about those that want to read reader stories from fandoms like The Boys (Scarlett Witch took over i swear) or (Squid Games I know it's in Korea but dang why can't I be american?).
Anyway that's all. I would love to read and possibly reply to comments. Some may agree others not so much which is far I am criticizing something so it's 100 okay to throw it back!

Kento Nanami Drabble

A/N When I eventually get around to uploading my masterlist please note that the characters will ALWAYS be chubby! / plus size! reader and is a poc 🫶🏽 Anyway this is something "light" 🤣 Enjoy~!!
Word count: 967
Content warning: slight smut, slight fat shaming if you squint really, really hard, small cursing
Random drabble of how Kento Nanami adores his chubby, fiesty secretary that doesn't take shit from anyone. She will put you in your place if she feels that you have disrespected her.
The moment you were hired you reminded Kento of a fire log: you brought warmth within the office, if that made sense. He tried not to pay too much attention to you, only talking when saying "thanks" and "that'll be all" but found the task of ignoring you impossible considering that your desk sat outside his office making it convenient for you to be at his beck and call. He watched through his tinted glasses admiring your full figure as you clacked away at your computer -you're efficient he'll give you that- getting up to retrieve documents from the printer, stopping every once and in a while to talk to your coworkers with that warm smile on your face that he was slowly falling for.
What really sealed the deal for him was how you always looked out for him, taking care of him in your own way: leaving small squares of dark chocolate on his desk with a note scribbled in your neat handwriting: Not saying you look like shit but it's been proven that if you eat one dark chocolate a day it'll benefit your heart, teeth, and help you sleep better^^ try to get some rest ~^^ you look a bit tired today :-( ; always making sure that he actually stopped working to eat and rest. "Minnie," the nickname you adapted to calling him when it was just you two. "Ya need to eat something."
"Let me just finish this-"
"When was the last time you ate?"
"Uh-"
"Too long. Come on!" He inwardly shivered at the spark that zapped through him as you grabbed him by his forearm attempting to pull him out of his seat. Squeezing you joke, "Sheesh. Didn't realize how built you were." Leading him towards your desk he wondered whether you knew what effect you were having on him.
The day that really killed it for him was when you both showed up to work practically identical: you wore a white, mid length pencil skirt with a thin black belt, satin blue blouse tucked in with the first two buttons undone, and some black heels. As you were gathering the notes to lay on the conference table you giggle. "Minnie, we look like a couple." After the conference he went home early claiming to be sick. Oh the naughty thoughts that were running rampant in Nanami's mind as he fisted his aching cock in the cold shower: he wanted to hike your skirt up, squeeze the supple flesh of your thighs, rip the blouse apart making sure to bring out your breasts from the confines of your bra and pound into you on his desk as you pant his name. "Na-nami" he imagined your half lidded eyes, mouth agape as he watched your breasts bounce with each of his thrusts, his fist stroking faster, teasing and rubbing at his sensitive, tip. "Minnie, I think ima-" Nanami groaned as rope after velvety rope painted his walls. This was driving him mad. He needed to make you his asap.
Sitting at the head of the conference table with a potential client, sneaking glances your way, he watched as you typed away at your laptop, alternating between typing and writing in a notebook. He was grateful that the lights were dimmed as the company's CEO and representative were giving their presentation, lightly palming himself underneath the table.
Oblivious to Kento's internal struggle you stood directly in front of him, so close that if he were to lean forward just slightly he could sniff you. Meanwhile he was admiring how your love handles looked in the midnight blue, sleeveless blouse you were wearing and how the black pencil skirt complimented your ass. As you both were saying goodbye to the CEO he clasped his hand on Kento's shoulder saying, "Mr. Kento, I look forward to working with you. But, take it from an old geezer who's been in the game for a while now, if you want more clients you need to hire someone who's more easier on the eyes. You know what I'm saying?" Your eyebrow shot up and as you were about to defend yourself Nanami replied with, "Unsolicited advice is never welcome. You disrespecting my secretary is a direct hit towards me. I can't do business with someone who only wants to look good on the outside. Please allow the security to escort you out."
"What?! You're joking right?"
"I never joke when it comes to the well being of my employees."
"This is preposterous!"
"Security please escort he and his representative off the premises."
"You will regret not merging with us!"
"Highly unlikely."
As the scene died down you tilted your head glancing at Nanami. "You know I coulda handled it."
"Why? So you could get reported to HR and lose your job?"
"I wasn't gonna hit him." Nanami stopped to stare at you intently. "Ok maybe I wanted to shave his bushy ass eyebrows." Shaking his head he chuckled. "The shorter you are the closer you are to the devil." You lightly smacked his shoulder. "Besides I can't afford losing you."
"Awwwww why? Minnie, you make it seem like you actually like me." Stopping in his tracks he turned to looked at you. "I do. I do like you."
"You better not be playing because I swear to gawd-" Nanami pulled your body flush against his causing you to silently gasp, biting your lower lip. Leaning down to whisper against the shell of your ear, "Need more proof?" You shook your head, you could feel the dark chuckle erupting from within his chest. "Use your words baby girl."

Beyond a blank slate reader
Hello everyone! There's been some wonderful discussions about inclusivity in the PPCU recently and I highly encourage them to keep on! A lot of it how certain phrases can code a reader as white, like "you blushed" etc. It's important to try and make your reader as inclusive as possible!
But I wanted to share some stories that aren't just a blank slate reader, but are my attempt to make people not only not feel excluded, but specifically included.
A lot of this is stuff i wrote because I wanted to see myself, like jewish or transmasc readers, in fics. Others I wrote because I want others to have that same feeling. That not only can you put yourself in the story, but you can actually see it clearly there.
I'll be honest, this came after getting an anon calling me not one but two slurs (three? They repeated one with a shortened version lol) and I wanted to be EVEN MORE LOUD about writing trans characters. i figured why not highlight all sorts of things that readers might like to read that are hard to find!
I've also included anything I think is under represented, like Boston!Joel with no age gap reader, or plus sized readers.
Below will be fics with readers and OC's with different gender identities, race, ethnicity, religion, and disabilties.
Most are Pedro Pascal and Oscar Isaac, but there's some with the other triple frontier boys <3
And to be clear, there is NOTHING wrong with a blank slate. MOST of what I write is blank slate. But you can absolutly be descriptive as long as you are tagging properly! And you can write for more than just no descripters. I am white, but I have no desire to only ever write white characters. We can all branch out and learn.
I've asked this before, what representation specifically do YOU want to see? Drop in my inbox, and I'll consider it, as going forward I think I'm more interested in x oc rather than x reader.
Last year I tried to compile a list of explicitly non-white fics by other writers and only got two people replying so it didnt go anywhere, but I'm going to try again this weekend! That way I can highlight not just myself.
Moon Knight
Seattle (Series): Marc Spector x Jewish!fem!OC. Marc trying to help Rebecca leave an abusive relationship.
Both of Us: Marc Spector x muslism!fem!Reader. Reader and Marc expecting a baby <3
The Times, they are a-chang'n: Marc Spector x Jewish!fem!Reader
Steven With A Non-Verbal reader: Steven Grant with selectively mute reader.
Marc with a Plus Sized reader: Marc Spector x plus sized! reader. Reader
Her Hair Reminds Me of a Warm Safe Place: Marc Spector x Layla El-Faouly. I didn't add every Marc x Layla here but I wrote this one specifically for my friend Clem who is arab and curly haired like Layla and has so much joy seeing Layla and her curls on screen, so I emphasized Marc finding safety in her.
Moon Boys with an agoraphobic reader: Headcanons of a reader with agoraphobia
I wrote one with Steven with a reader with ocd but i cant fucking find it so if you see it lmk lol
Triple Frontier
If You Wanna be Wild: Javier Pena x Latina!fem!Reader/oc x Santiago Garcia. Javier gets a new partner, a young Santi, and they go after Lorea together. He does not account for both of them sleeping with the same prositute. Partway through, "reader" became more of an oc, but the description is clear. She's latina and Colombian, curly hair. When I start moving everything to my new blog I'll just edit everything as an OC.
Big Boys Don't Cry: Trans! Santiago Garcia x transmasc!reader
Santi With a Curly Haired Reader: Just what it says. Not explicitly POC but can easily imagine if you have curly hair no matter the race.
See more at the bottom about the leather and lace universe
The Last of Us
Darkness on the Edge of Town: Joel Miller x older!fem!reader. By older, I mean she's the same age as Joel in boston, post-menopause. Joel saves a woman from FEDRA guards and they are stuck together in his apartment during a lockdown.
Lights: Joel Miller x jewish!fem!reader. Jackson!Joel asks out Jewish!reader
About a Girl: Joel Miller x trans!fem!reader. Joel, a single dad of a kindergarten aged Sarah, meets Blue, and is instantly attracted, but he doesn't know she's trans yet. Heavy on themes of found family, domestic abuse to Joel, addiction, transphobia.
Joel Takes a Strap: Joel x trans!masc!reader. Is exactly what it says LOL
The River: Joel Miller x black!fem!reader. Sarah's mom reader, Joel and you lose your virginities together, Sarah is conceived.
Happy Birthday, Joel: Trans!Joel x male!reader. You and Joel pic out a new name for him.
Santa Joel-y: Joel Miller x plus sized!Fem!Reader. Joel is feeling down about his weight gain, reader cheers him up.
Narcos
If You Wanna be Wild: Javier Pena x Latina!fem!Reader/oc x Santiago Garcia. Partway through, "reader" became more of an oc, but the description is clear. She's latina and Colombian, curly hair. When I start moving everything to my new blog I'll just edit everything as an OC. Javier gets a new partner, a young Santi, and they go after Lorea together. He does not account for both of them sleeping with the same prositute.
Leather and Lace universe (Triple Frontier)
Putting this at the bottom because it's my baby and i know I promo it a lot so I wanted to give people a chance to see the other stuff.
Leather and Lace universe started with Just writing the series leather and Lace. I wasn't ready to let go of the characters i created, so I branched off with Frankie and Jana's story. now it's an anthology.
Each series can be read seperately, but are best all together because there are side arches. Each series is a different TF boy and their OC, each OC is wildly varied.
The full LaL masterlist with chronological pieces here if you want to read it all to date, OR you can look below for one that fits your tastes.
Please be mindful of warnings of each. heavy themes of domestic violence, rape, addiction, and child abuse are present.
Leather and Lace: Santiago Garcia x oc, Laci. The Tf boys find laci in Colombia, a victim of sex trafficking and they rescue her. She's deeply traumatized, but Santi is there to help her every step. Santi is coded to be autistic and is non-verbal often (more in the begining, she talks more as her anxiety eases.) and she has severe PTSD.
Take Your Time: Francisco Morales x oc, Jana. frankie is struggling to stay sober. Despite his attempts to push people away, Jana won't allow him to lose himself in addiction and depression, for his own and for their daughter's sake. Jana is a bisexual icon, and Afro-latina.
For the Longest Time: William Miller x OC, Lorelei. Lorelei and Will keep accidentally meeting. Suspicious and often judgmental, Lorelei is hesitant to let Will and his friends in. She learns she can trust them, and they learn she has a heart of gold and is the most loyal friend you could have. Lorelei is Vietnamese.
Coming soon... No Surrender: Ben Miller x oc, Cam. Join the tag list! Stuck in an abusive relationship and drinking heavily, Ben is just trying to get through this harvest and sell the family farm. Will calls in the only person he thinks can help his brother. Cam is Scottish and part Vietnamese (1/4), and has a hearing aid.
If any incorrect, outdated, or offensive langauge was used in any of these descripters, please let me know! I do my best to research and ask people in any groups I am not a part of, but I know things can slip through and I will never be above being corrected
Thank you for taking the time to read my works! If you are so inclinced, check out my event, disability visibility, to highlight disability awareness!
Follow @cosmic-kid-in-motion which will be my new blog! Im going to start moving things over there. Don't worry, ill keep things up at this blog for a long while, but if by chance you are seeing this list and links dont work, go over to that blog and i'll hopefully have this list with SO MUCH MORE I have planned, like marcus acacius x muslism!reader, and wheelchair user Santi!

Something I haven't seen many people discuss re: Tony Gilroy's issues with writing POC characters is how he managed to Bail Organa out to be the bad guy in favor of hyping up his white OC as the ~One True Rebel Leader~. Since the final episodes aired there have been people flat-out saying that Bail "stole" the Rebel Alliance from Luthen, or that the New Republic fell because there were more Bail Organas than Mon Mothmas---all because of Gilroy's on-screen interpretation of Bail in one scene, which is apparently enough to discredit everything else he canonically did for the Alliance.
It might not have been Gilroy's deliberate intention to have everyone go "Fuck that guy, he's never done anything good" about the one Latino founder of the Rebel Alliance, but I do think his bias in favoring his own (white) characters combined with his unwillingness to consult source material led to Andor!Bail being weirdly out of character compared to every other depiction of him (including the ones in the cartoons). Considering the Fulcrum network was never mentioned in Andor despite Cassian being part of it in his original backstory, I doubt Tony put much effort into researching Bail's background before writing him the way he did. It really felt like the show brought Bail in more because he was in Rogue One and they had to tie him in to Andor somehow, rather than because Tony genuinely thought he was an important character to the overall story.
(To be clear, this is all shade at Tony Gilroy and none at Benjamin Bratt; the recast didn't bother me and I think he did a good job with the script he was given, it's just unfortunate that the script was...what it was).
Agreed anon. The part about undermining all of Mon, Saw and particularly Bail by giving their credit to Luthen is another one of those batshit ridiculous stunts I can’t even take seriously. God forbid bipoc or women do anything.
It’s also the way they couldn’t even respect the ONE fucking legacy latino. They couldn’t even just cameo his ass, they had to vilify him because this show, as I have repeated for years, fucking hates latinos, it’s a core theme.
They also look nothing alike?? Tony googled tan latino actor in his 60s and called it a day.
I knew lore was never happening. Tony never gave a fuck about Rogue One except for his only contribution being the fuckass Ring of Kafrene scene. And I do love the lore around Fulcrum and the Massassi Group and we will still always have it. Anybody eating this up is willfully stupid. They can go have fun with Tony’s OC if they’re fr. But Bail Organa will always mean more to people than they’ll ever know and there’s nothing they can do about it.
#doing nothing and taking all the credit for it sure does sound familiar#rogue one#andor season 2#andor talks#asks

USA is running a marathon for Pride Month highlighting Ritters' character, and to that, all i can say is. Justice for Darren Ritter and every Black/POC/LGBTQIA+ character across this universe that's fallen victim to the systemic bullshit under the guise of "budget cuts" or "creative direction".
It's already fucked up that there's only one LGBTQIA+ character on this show oh just kidding in the entire OneChicago universe that also doubles as the only black man now on Fire and they with all of their audacity cut his character without warning.
Then to add insult to injury they do it in a manner that does not allow for his story to even come to a natural end or progression because no matter what bullshit excuse they concoct to write him off none of it will matter or make remote sense because they rarely if ever invested in his character development/arc to begin with.
Post his first season or two as a regular, they reduced him to a sidekick to everyone else's stories or shenanigans, never fully allowing him to carry his own arcs, and I don't understand why. I understand he's not considered a lead character. However, he is and has been a series regular for years and deserved the opportunities to tell stories that represented what his character meant/represented to others!
It's not enough to just have the token black/poc/lgbtqia actor or character just to check the box. It's not enough to just have them in the room or on the screen if you're not going to do something meaningful with them! It's performative in nature and does not present authenticity at all. 😒
Especially in today's climate where so many powers at be are trying to erase, destroy, or censor the history/legacy of any and every minority group that doesn't fit the racist, misogynistic, bigoted "mold" you'd think networks and production companies would use this as an opportunity to use their size/scale as an avenue to fight back with its messaging but instead they fall right in line with the narrative. Whether that be consciously or unconsciously, I do not know. What I do know is perception and perception is certainly not a great one if you're a fan of these shows.
Ritter is just one recent example of how flawed the system is, and I say system because this shit is systemic. If we sit with it long enough and really start to peel back the layers, we can find a list of characters treated strangely similar across the universe, and they all have one thing in common.
They don't fit the "mold."
Sometimes, I wonder if Stella wasn't attached to Severide. Would she even still be here on our screens today? Had Matt not gone to Oregon 🙄 would she even be a lieutenant... at 51 or anywhere for that matter. Would the investments into her character or arc even be made had she not been attached to the white male main character lead...🤔 Sit with that.
In no way am I ragging on Kelly either. I love Stellaride, but I also love Stella Kidd as a standalone character. My frustration comes from a place of IF she and Kelly DIDN'T hit it off. IF they didn't have the insane chemistry and love story that we adore. WOULD the powers at be still find value in what her character represents in this show, and WOULD they have invested in it the same? Because at the end of the day, Stella Kidd is a WOC character!
They always talk about how there's not enough women/woc/poc representation in the CFD, yet when given the opportunity to correct the narrative, they chose to uphold it. Why? 🤔
#chicago fire#darren ritter#daniel kyri#dei#or lack thereof#lgbtqia#black/poc#representation matters#their stories matter#and deserve to be told#yes I'm pushing the woke agenda#if that bothers you#cry about it#then cope

Hey! Have you read the first chapters? You didnt? What! Read it here!! I . II . III . IV.
Hmm? You said you like shii’z writing?! Omg me too! Check out her masterlist!

He let out a heavy breath before he ripped his mask off of his face. He wasn't supposed to be out alone considering he was the new crowned emperor. But he was, and he was searching for you and he wasn't gonna give up until he did. He wore heavy clothing to try and hide his identity from others, and a bag that slung around his shoulder consisting of his journal, water, and other things he might need. He settles for the night in a rock. A rock with a beautiful view. He has been on the road for so long, he's forgotten how long, he didn't really care to remember either, considering it would help motivate to find you. He walks around the rock, searching for anything to give him clues of you or if you might've been here.
As he looked around, It was clear that someone had been there before. He looked at the bad attempt of making a bed, but he didn't touch it. His eyes slightly closed from trying to study the bed, there were still prints of a body, maybe two, on the bed. He hunches over. There was a piece of hair, as disgusting as it sounds…he picked it up. It was the same as yours, he took a rather long pause before thinking, maybe he should smell the bed? No, what if he smells something he doesn't like. He shook his head before looking at the single strand of hair that was in his hand. He sat down on the bed, setting the hair gently aside before taking off his glove and putting the strand back in his palm. Everybody's hair could be similar, he thought. He let out a sigh before looking ahead of him. He didn't know what time it was, but all he knew was that he was tired and heart broken. He didn't miss his home, not at all, not with you not there.
He put his glove and his mask back on before placing the hair into his bag. Out of everything that was going on, at least the view was beautiful. He stood and walked to the view of the rock, carelessly taking footsteps before he sighed and dropped down, his legs open and his elbows on his knees as he took in the view. He let in a deep breath. ¨tired. I am tired¨ he let out in a whisper. He fought his sleep often because he knew it would make him less confident and he would grow to slack, but sometimes he just couldn't take it anymore. The yawns leaving his lips, difficulty holding onto the hooks that latched onto the sandworm, but he thought he could finally settle here for a while, as a reward for finding a piece of hair that have a 5 percent chance of being yours.
As he watched the view, he thought of you. He didn't cry as much anymore. When he cried, he cried alone in private. And during that time, he cried until he couldn't anymore. Every time he saw Irulan it made him sick to his stomach. As much as he wanted to blame her, he couldn't. His heart was too good and he knew better than to let a weak desperate moment turn into anger. ¨why did i offer?¨ he would think over and over, countless times, wondering how could he be so careless. But he wasn't, he didn't want to marry her for the reason of love, just wanted to keep her safe as a promise to the retired and overthrown emperor. Thinking about it made him question his character, who has he grown to be? hed remembered what you said, he always thought of the smart and wise things you had to say.
¨its okay to feel how you feel, paul¨ you looked at him with a pity smile on your face while your hand was on his cheek. He had another nightmare. He didn't want it to be true. ¨this is gonna make me go crazy, y/n¨ paul whispered back, leaning into y/ns touch. ¨don't let it fool you, don't let it phase you, don't let it change you¨ you replied. At times, all paul wanted to do was give up. He didnt wanna be the chosen one. It was all too much. He could stay here forever, with you. For all eternity if he could.
Paul sighs and looks to the side. Remembering what you said, he wished things weren't so quiet.he laughed to himself, all the dreams he had of the future, but none of you. He sat alone, all alone, not one book, not one sound, just him, by himself. He felt empty, he wants you, he needs you, he needed someone to make him feel complete again, but days spread thick and long, bored, fighting himself back and forth between hope for finding you and wondering if you had just moved on. He wished he had a dream of you, of your blue eyes glistening in the sun, of your laugh, He wished it was so vivid that he touched you, that he could control his dream and talk to you, make love to you, but he had nothing, nothing at all. Nothing to remember you by, just a stupid suspicious piece of hair, tears brimmed his eyes, he needs you. There was no one he could pray to if he was the chosen one. No matter how hard he fought, how he tried to distract himself from work, it all lead up to one person, not one other thought, never out of sight out of mind, he knew what he wanted and he fell so deep he felt like he just couldn't grasp it anymore, how was he supposed to live his life without you. Your soft gentle hands grazing his face and answering the stupid and goofy questions he asked. There was no one else and he knew that now, didn't even find anyone else attractive. Lonesome nights, he didn't want to be on his own, ever again. Once he found you he vowed to never let you go, no matter how loud your voice is, no matter if you kicked him down, your in his heart and he just cannot let go, but how long could he search? Huh? How long would it be until he found you? When will he hear your voice again? When will he kiss you again? He didn't even say I love you before you walked off, for all he knew, that was his last goodbye.
On the first day, he acted as if nothing happened, but then he realized you weren't there, he couldn't pick at your dinner plate, he could hear your laughs, he couldn't feel your pity hits after he whispers a dirty joke. He had no one to talk to, no one to ask him if he was okay. Was he...okay? Had he known he was okay? Or has he grown so long to the point where he wasnt and he just didn't know it. He wished he said more, begged you to stay, cried about it, weeped about it, there was so much he could've done and he didn't, he only said a short explanation of how he was waiting for you and now he's on the run, on the search. He was so tired, so tired of looking at the same spice on the ground, carving on the rock of the walls. He wanted to be next to you, holding your head in his shoulder, hear your soft snores as you slept like there wasn't a care in the world. He'd never expect this, a life without you. He sighed and shook the thought out of his head, noticing he was in too deep and he wiped the tears that slowly dropped from his face, letting out a sniffle as he looked ahead. He didn't want to be too deep, of course he missed you, but he wanted to find you with a clear conscience, a healthy mind. He needed something to keep him going. His eyebrows furrowed as he looked to the ground. He placed a palm down and leaned closer to the floor. What is this? This imprint on the floor? Looks familiar.
He looked over it, careful not to move or make any sudden movements. ¨y/n?¨ he muttered. Any normal person would've thought paul as crazy, looking like he's searching for spice on the floor, and then wanting to jump and cheer, because, well, because what?
The necklace
The necklace Paul got for her. It was there! Clear as day. What a time to cheer! He couldn't fight off the smile on his lips. She's alive! She's alive! What a joy, out for two years! Been all around Arrakis, and at such a time he was going to give up, go home, force himself to get comfortable with his new situation, you were out there. Shall he go home? To tell stilgar and have a celebration? Sweet red wine sounded like heaven. He wiped his eyes as finally, finally tears came down. Tears of joy, he waited for this moment, oh so long! He was so happy he could take the dirt and put it in his bag also.
He laughed, he found it funny how he grew so tired of being next to his queen that he went and found you himself after he told you to come back. He grew impatient. He took out his journal and wrote, writing his life away as he thought of you, as the warmness of love and hope crowded his vision and spreaded throughout his body. This is all he wanted, to find you. And he was so close, so, so close.
He hadn't felt like this in a long time. He got up and collected the dirt from the necklace in his hand and watched it fall from his gloves. Looking around and seeing the footsteps, all yours he believed! He looked before following the footsteps, he followed them foot by foot until he was in the sand again. He hunched over, trying to search for the footsteps as they were getting lost from the wind of the sand until he couldn't anymore. He stood and pulled out his compass for the direction that you went. When it pointed he saw and lifted his head in the direction you went. This was it, this was the final piece, this was the end.
You were home.

Dropping in just to tell you how much I LOVE your Sevika x Silco portrayal. I never considered Sevilco a ship before reading your fics but you make them work so well, and I really like that you gave Sevika so much more backstory and character development. As a desi girl, I also appreciate your Sevika giving us desi rep and making it so relatable and believable. The kavya, the payasam, the bidi, I can feel her being desi on my skin, lol.
And for Silco, you make him such a hot bastard, it's unbelievable.
As someone who's a huge Grishaverse fan, they're giving Kaz x Inej vibes. I think you mentioned reading Six of Crows so I believe you're familiar with the duo, but I can really see similarities between Kaz and Silco. They're both badass villains, they're both dark and twisted and have done questionable things, they both have an intense obsession with destroying a rich and corrupt society and replacing it with something better. Also Inej and Sevika are both poc women who can kick ass and they both have a complicated relationship with the men they love. I love Kaz and Inej to death but if they were a little darker and older, they could totally be Silco and Sevika.
I'm sorry, I'm rambling, but I wanted to share. Keep up the amazing writing! I hope you write a lot more Sevilco fics. You've become one of my favorite Arcane authors, and I look forward to your updates.
Thank you so much<333
I'm so glad you're enjoying Sevika and Silco content. They've been a weird 'sleeper hit' with certain pockets of the fandom (and horrified a few others) and I'm really happy the ship's being considered as a viable option.
I really did want to try and give Sevika a bit more depth re: her family, motivations and flaws, simply because there's so much (justifiable) thirst for her character as a hot mama, and plenty of 'yas queen'ing everytime she does something terrible - but not a lot of consideration for the human, complex, flawed person behind the muscle, and why she'd choose to throw in her lot with Silco and stake everything on Zaun.
I'm also so pleased the representation feels authentic - I'm basing Zaun on RL Manchester in some ways, and Queens NYC in others - both of which are very diverse, with a huge South Asian presence. If FnF was taking place IRL, Silco would've been a no-good-bounding English boy of working-class immigrant parents (probs half-French, half-German) growing up with his best friend Vander (also of German descent with a little Greek thrown in) and Sevika and Nandi would've hailed from the nearby South Indian community, all set in the 1980s. The boy would've known his way around a good plate of biryani, though I doubt Nandi would've let him within 100m of her kitchen, let alone into her bed.
Sevika, on the other hand, would've hung out with him aaaaaall the time, just so she could bum his cigarettes and booze, and snog questionable girls behind the local pub.
(He would've paid her a tenner so he could watch her and her mate snog at his twenty-fifth birthday party. She'd have agreed, and maybe tried to goad him into joining in…)
Roflmao I do remember reading SoC, but it was very long ago, and I was a bit old for the 'young adult' genre by then. I did enjoy Kaz x Inej, although the dynamics would be somewhat different, and in many ways, far less toxic: none of this 'let the monster out' nonsense as Inej wants Kaz to be a better person, not a more ruthless one.
But really, all things aside, this is all I can think of whenever I see the comparison made:
Also we fuck. A lot.
Thank you so much, and I'm very happy you're enjoying the story<333

Dear everyone that likes Punch Out: YOU ARE NOT RACIST.
No matter how much over privileged youtubers who suck at the games, wanna say you are. Punch Out really isn't even that racist (at least not the wii version). It's literally just goofy stereotypes (which aren't always bad anyway??? Tropes are a writing tool and are meant to be expanded on anyway. It literally gives the fandom more power over the canon). Also, half the time, it's the white people who are getting made fun of. Like boohoo bitch, Aran Ryan's got red hair, womp womp.
Like this attitude is literally why this franchise has been dead for so long bruh
sorry anon but this is genuinely so fucking funny I can tell ur not a POC or you’re just someone whos really young. Won’t go too far about this topic but all I’ll say is, YES punch out has racist characters and is a racist game, but that doesn’t automatically make fans racist. HOWEVER, just because you simply acknowledge that the game is built on racist stereotypes, doesn’t automatically mean you’re NOT racist. It’s about how you go about these stereotypes, not just because “well everyone is a stereotype so it’s automatically okay!”
To answer anon, yes Punch Out does make fun of white people, but that doesn’t really automatically make it better to make fun of minorities. (Also even Irish and Italians weren’t considered “white” at some point in history, they were also treated as minorities. So the Aran Ryan point flops sorry anon)
The thing about goofy stereotypes not “always being bad”, anon you’re missing the point. While not all stereotypes are bad, that still doesn’t make stereotypes good either. (Example: Piston Honda is depicted as an honorable fighter yes, however he is still a parody on WWll Japanese soldiers and kamikaze fighters. In MTPO, he literally wears Japanese propaganda and speaks in broken English.)
Also to combat the whole “the game makes fun of white people”, it should be noted that Punch Out has pretty racist depictions of Asians and Black people. (I’m just gonna list some of them out like a speed run):
Dragon Chan has a pretty racist design, having very prominent buck teeth which is a common stereotype for Chinese people. He’s also conventionally the only boxer to use martial arts in his fighting style.
Great Tiger is pretty orientalist and is about as accurate to Indian culture as Aladdin is, mixing up Indian and Arab/Middle Eastern culture when they are separate cultures. (And before you mention his Wii depiction, yes that version is also pretty inaccurate. They literally gave him a flying magic carpet which is more of a Middle Eastern thing than Indian.)
Old art of MTPO depicted Mike Tyson as a racist caricature (yes he’s a bad person, but the point stands that an actual person was depicted in black face because of the time the game came out) Some also argue that Kid Quick’s design is also racist.
To conclude, I don’t think you’re a bad person for liking any of these characters. (Some of the characters I listed as being pretty racist stereotypes ARE actually my faves lol) But I think it’s important that people do acknowledge that Punch Out IS racist, and acting ignorant to it honestly makes you look worse than if you were actually racist. Like I said, if you acknowledge this and take the time to accurate depict these characters and their respective cultures, then you’re fine. At the end of the day, this is a silly boxing game with hot buff guys, who gaf.
posting this for future reference but please don’t send shit like this 🫶
#not to dog on anon but also#Your whiteness is showing anon I can taste the mayonnaise off your post#Also im asking to not send weird stuff regarding how POC are depicted because I’m a minority myself#Breaking news: mod 🌶️ isn’t white?!!#punchouthottakes#punch out#Also this was kinda why I went on hiatus cause some of y’all bitches are actually stupid

reading the things that have been said here and by literally every ml critic about how adrien and every other victim of abuse or anything else really in this show is just ignored made me think about how people have been saying that adrien should have been the main character. and i can see where they're coming from because like marinette is so irrelevant to all the plot points that actually matter in terms of gabriel's whole thing. i really do want ml to be a girl power superhero/magical girl show where the main character is a poc female but ml is just not that show.
marinette at this point is the main character because the narrative says she is. a lot of the things that happened, even way back in s1, happened because marinette kept inserting herself into things. she got to be the one to have the final fight with hawkmoth AND have that final conversation with gabriel even when they like barely spoke to each other and there's literally nothing to their relationship besides the fact that she's dating his son and also the obligatory hero-villain connection. like she's so disconnected from the actual heart of the original plot that they had to keep forcably shoving her in there to make her relevant in her own show, which keeps making her look like an annoying, jealous stalker who doesn't care about anything but her own desires, comfort, and happiness
just like, when you have a considerable amount of fans that say not even that they want him to have a spin off series where he deals with his own shit, but that adrien should be the main character of the main series because it would make so much more sense, it doesn't matter whether they're right to want that or not, what matters is that clearly the writing got fucked up somewhere for them to even consider it seriously.
---
It's not only that Marinette isn't plot-important enough to justify her bloated protagonist status. The fact of the matter is that Marinette just doesn't have enough to contribute as a fictional person to justify her protagonist status even in the civilian plots she gets shoehorned into. Part of this is the "lesson of the day" aspect of the show, where Marinette's contributions to the plots will have her do something blatantly insensitive, selfish or downright awful to someone when she gets involved in things that are none of her business, all so that the writers can turn that into a lesson that they then don't have the decency to commit to. The writers are too busy throwing her a pity party for her little oopsies that should totally not reflect on her character even when it's the very core of the character and the way she operates.
For all Marinette is supposed to be a kind, intelligent and heroic person, we just don't see her making the lives of the people around her better the way you'd expect from someone called "everyday Ladybug" once upon a time, or even the way you'd expect any halfway decent teen hero protagonist to. Like, would it kill the writers to write more than one or two episodes where someone actually asks Marinette for help with something and then at least Marinette's well-meaning but misguided attempts to help wouldn't be so self-centered? No wait, them asking for help instead of merely receiving it at Marinette's decision would give them too much agency and we can't have that in the puppet theatre!
Basically, the Miraculous writers are so bad at their job that the series actively suffers from Marinette, as she is being written, being the protagonist. Like, one of the first things I said about 'Sublimation' was something along the lines of: “I have no faith in these writers' ability to tackle the topic of physical disability from the perspective of their coddled, able-bodied protagonist,” not because I thought able-bodied kids couldn't learn understanding alongside an able-bodied protagonist, but because I knew the writers always consider Marinette's comfort paramount. Because Marinette's comfort is paramount, abuse victims and disabled characters are expected to cater to her if they're supposed to be seen as “good”.
As it stands, Marinette is so high-maintenance that it doesn't matter what anyone else is dealing with, Marinette being uncomfortable with them having needs is more important to the writers than those needs every single time. Like, Kim Possible, twenty years ago, had an episode where Kim was uncomfortable around a kid who needed a wheelchair, and the lesson of the episode was that it wasn't about her, so she just had to get over herself. Miraculous would never, and that's the problem. That's why Marinette has such difficulty acting like the good person she theoretically is; she’ll be kind and considerate when it's convenient for her, but, the longer the show goes on, the more the writers make every single moment inconvenient for her.
I described this issue to my brother, who said it reminded him of how one of Miraculous' pitch phases had a version of Adrien who needed to use a walking stick as a mobility aid. Astruc was told that he couldn't give such a prominent character a physical disability because they were concerned over how hard it can be to depict with sensitivity, and now he's made an episode with a character getting her prosthetic legs broken but it's only relevant because it makes the protagonist who broke them upsette. I think the executives had the right idea when they told Tommy the Clown that they didn't have faith he could depict physical disability with the required sensitivity, even as Astruc's own arrogance insisted otherwise.

SPOILERS!!! SPOILERS!!!
Rant on Storytaco's bad writing of dark skinned characters. Specifically Sirius.

I wanna start this out with saying, I do not hate Sirius as a character. He's one of my favorites and I feel like he had wasted potential being in the hands of Storytaco. I don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying Sirius as a character either! I believe however that we can enjoy media, and look at it from a critical lense. There are good things about his character and I enjoy a lot of how he was written lore wise!!! Otherwise I wouldn't be so violently obsessed with him since the age of 15 lol. But again. There are a combination of things that I can't really see as a coincidence.
If you have anything to add, or disagree with any of my points, please do not be afraid to say so! I wanna have an actual discussion about this. please I do not bite. I stand pretty firm on my points at this very moment, but I'm entirely willing to listen and change.
Uh. Apologies if my points come across poorly or if my writing is incoherent. There's a reason why I did bad in school lol.
My criticisms are below here. Have fun
Anyways.
Fuck Storytaco?
Uh. This is 100% inspired by recent discussion on the fandoms treatment of Sirius. But I'd like to discuss why this treatment is actively perpetuated by the developers of Arcana Twilight. Which is much more disturbing to think about when you consider their games are often marketed towards minors.(There are other issues with storytaco marketing towards minors too. Uh, idk if those are relevant for this post though. Maybe later cuz it's high key disturbing!!! 😃)
Sirius was written very inconsiderately. Like I know he's a villainous/morally gray character. However I feel like there needs to be a lot more tact when your only dark skinned character is written to be not a good person. Especially in comparison to the light skinned characters. I feel like they just applied every negative trait on earth to him, then turned around and went "jk guys! He's not actually bad. Hes like this cuz he's an orphan." 😭 Like some of these traits would be fine in their own if balanced out with other things, but there's so many combined together that I can't help but feel suspicious of their intentions and bias.
He's the most provocative out of all the love interests. He's consistently initiating suggestive situations, is labeled the "sexyman", and is constantly making innuendos. The game has a lot of fan service in general (even though it's rated E), but Sirius is disproportionately portrayed this way and is just constantly going "hehe sex 😁" Which making him the provocative one is both an issue with him being queer coded and dark skinned..double whammy 😟
He's the dangerous, unpredictable and violent one. He SHOT!!! SHOT the mc within the first few floors. And like. There wasn't even a good reason behind why they decided to write that in other than to make us think he's violent/dangerous/untrustworthy. There are times when it's portrayed that he can't even be trusted alone in a room with the mc, even prior to the villain arc. 😐
He's a pretty much a domestic terrorist.... 😐
He was a wanted criminal for half of the story. Idk if I need to explain what's wrong with that either 😐
He's potentially the only one killed off at the ending depending on your interpretation.
In the clan equivalent of Americans (cough. Guns + eagles + the lazy unlikable rebellious group that just gets into trouble) which is just. Silly. 😭😒
Again he's the "untrustworthy one that nobody wants to be around." This is a point constantly driven in by the characters he's surrounded with. they drill that into the viewers head so so so much.
He's the "party animal" of the group??? Which isn't really portrayed beyond him drinking a lot but was definitely advertised as such.
He's 100% queer coded you cannot convince me otherwise. Which. Now we're falling into queer coded poc villain territory. Double whammy again! Disney is that you?
Going off the queer coded point, he's falling into "predatory gay man" territory. Hes shipped with basically every man in the game by storytaco for promotional and bait reasons. But it's always displayed as Sirius making the other party uncomfortable and getting in their personal space. Making unwanted advances. Like... Y'all don't got a do that
Ok this is possibly nitpicky but deadass why'd they make him a basketball player in the highschool au thingy. He's a theater kid. Nothing about him reads as liking sports. Please do not wear dangly earrings while playing sports??? It bothers me so much 💀
Okay so the sassy, violent, deranged, perverted terrorist... is the only romance-able dark skinned man in the game. ??? NONONO just think about that for a good moment
HE HAS OTHER THINGS IN HIS CHARACTER. THERE ARE GOOD PARTS ABOUT HIS CHARACTER!!! I LOVE SIRIUS SO MUCH. HES VERY COMPLEX AND INTERESTING.. but this is such a horrible combination of very specific negative tropes that it's hard to ignore. Especially when thinking about how this game is advertised to minors who, more often than not, are easily subjected to subconscious bias in media and are easily influenced due to our lack of ability to critically analyze media we're haphazardly consuming. (Sorry fellow minors. As a senior minor aka 17 yo it's the hard truth y'all gotta accept. we've all been there and we've been influenced by media whether we're aware of it or not. I'm not mad at y'all or belittling. Keep having ur funsies with ur silly star men I'm not stopping you lol? This is legitimate concern and criticism towards a company that is promoting weird stereotypes to us)
And I don't think Sirius is just a one off weirdly written dark skinned character from Storytaco. Thuban (WHO IS GREEEEEY. Big issue on its own 😰😭) is depicted as lazy and rude.???? Like he has a single redeeming moment but again. Just reads as "domineering rowdy black man." Especially when you look at the whole great hero trio .. he's supposed to fall within the fantasy "Fighter" archetype with his big ass mace. Compared to Polaris who is like a Cleric and the Wizard/Ranger Schedar.
Also shout out to storytacos other grey men.....???????? I was only able to find four dark skinned men (not just tanned a bit) including Sirius when I went thru Storytacos game catalogue. Two of them are grey. 😐
Anyways Sirius was a huge motivating factor in why I wanted to make Extraterrestrial... Fucked up potential of a character. There are 100% biases showing through how he was written. These were all conscious decisions made on the writers part and I don't think it can be kept behind "he's a morally gray character who's going thru it" because there were so many good ways to show that and his grief without going to every. single. extreme.

you do know that Billy is racist right...
*sighhhhhhhh* Alright, here we go…
Typically I don’t like getting into this argument because you’re not supposed to argue with a POC about what’s racist and what isn’t (I don’t actually know if you are poc or not this is a general statement I’m making), I know I don’t because it just doesn’t feel right, but here’s the thing.
When it comes to this character the one line he said that everyone’s going crazy for I’m going to have to disagree here because it’s just 1. too vague of a statement, of course you could argue that Billy talking about Lucas’ skin colour is implied in his statement and I agree, but not for the reasons you think.
And 2. there’s a reason Dacre changed this scene with the duffers regarding Billy’s potential racism because you’re creating a character who’s an antagonist who originally had no reason to be bad (until Dacre suggested the scene with his father) and then you wanna add racism into the mix? if the duffers really wanted to bring up the issue of racism during the 80s especially in small secluded areas like Hawkins, I’m pretty sure it would’ve been an actual subplot, but no they just wanted to use it as an additional reason to make Billy’s character initially unlikeable and it was so poorly written into the script and also Dacre was just straight up uncomfortable acting out that whole sequence so we can safely say the concept of Billy being a racist is scrapped from canon all together. I’m explaining this from the perspective of a film student because you can’t write an antagonist without a plausible reason and motive to be bad, so Dacre humanizing him and giving him that back story and lore is exactly what you do when it comes to character work, especially for antagonists like Billy (unless you wanna make the villain a basic villain with a basic story arc who’s sole purpose is to get in the hero’s way and die trying but in this case Billy never did that. He never really got into anyone’s way besides at the end of season 2 but it’s because he had no idea what’s going on and in HIS mind he thinks he’s saving Max from a fucked up situation. And im not even going to start with season 3 because we all know; bro was possessed, he wasn’t himself, Vecna was acting out entirely through him Billy had no say in any of it. In fact he even showed remorse and shame during the little time Vecna let him be in control of himself before abruptly taking over.) Also, yes you can be from an educated and woke society (California is a blue state and the equal opportunities act in the states already passed and Billy leaves for hawkins in fall 1984 so it’s already well established in society at that time that being racist is not acceptable) and still be a bigot, but I really just don’t believe this is the case for Billy.
What I think the issue here is his father, now hear me out, hear me out.
In the book “Runaway Max” it is brought up that Neil is a huge supporter of Reagen who at the time was a republican and attempted to abolish the equal opportunities act bill but ultimately failed of course. Max even says it herself that Neil is racist and a white supremacist. What does that tell you? His father is the whole problem. Because we all know that Billy gets beaten and blamed for everything that happens whether it’s Max’s fault or his Neil will take any excuse to physically hurt Billy. And being how Neil is so adamant on Billy watching over Max and being in charge of her, what would happen if Neil caught Max with Lucas who is black and we know Neil’s views on that demographic of people? What do you think would happen?
Of course, we could also bring up that if Billy was racist it would be a learned behaviour from his father. Though, to be honest, considering how much Billy tries to rebel against his father, I think it’s safe to say that would include Neil’s morals and beliefs, so I highly doubt it.
Going back to my first point, I think Billy did say that about Lucas not because he hates Lucas but because his father would and would take out that well known hatred out on Billy. It was more of a warning for both of their safety because of how insane Neil is. That’s why I think Billy said that and acted that way in terms of their friendship because he doesn’t want to deal with the consequences of his father’s wrath.
We can also see this in season 3, when Billy is working full time, starting to take control of his life (likely saving up money so he could leave and move back to California) he doesn’t even care about what Max is doing let alone dating Lucas, he’s too busy trying to get his life together.
So no, I don’t think Billy is a racist and I’ve listed all of my reasons why from a canonical standpoint using evidence from the story, plus my own analysis on his character as an actor myself.
Now from a shifter’s standpoint; I really don’t wanna hear y’all judge my choice of S/O considering some of y’all shift for active psychopaths and murderers meanwhile I’m shifting for a dude who’s been deeply traumatized and wants to live his life in peace and find true love.
To conclude; this is entirely my opinion and my belief on the topic. If you believe the opposite you’re fully entitled to, no one’s gonna attack you or try to convince you otherwise. But the thing is with people like myself who like Billy’s character and indulge in his lore and fanfiction we’re constantly getting criticized and harassed and even as far as labeled as bad people just because we view him from a different perspective. I believe it’s time we all grow up and respect each other’s opinions because not everyone agrees with everyone and that’s the way of the world. freedom of thought freedom of speech.
(goddamn this was a long rant but i had to say my peace)
