Is it really though?

This notion suggests that when we define something, we might inadvertently confine it within the boundaries of that definition, potentially missing out on the richness and complexity that lies beyond those limits.

However, it’s worth pondering, just for the sake of pondering, 🙂 whether or not definitions are necessarily limitative, or inherently about limitation. Could it be that, instead of restricting understanding, definitions serve as valuable tools for real time contextualization and comprehension? In this view, definitions offer a structured framework for understanding, at a single point in time (given the topic), guiding us through complex concepts.

What’s intriguing is that definitions, like the language they are a part of, are not static entities. At least in my opinion, they do not have to be. They are, or at the very least can be, in fact, fluid and adaptable. The meanings of words and concepts can evolve over time, influenced by cultural shifts, advancements in knowledge, and even individual perspectives.

So, while definitions can provide a starting point for understanding, they don’t have to be rigid confines. They can be dynamic, adapting to the changing landscapes of language and human experience. This fluidity invites us to approach definitions with an openness to reinterpretation and a recognition that the true essence of a concept may extend beyond the boundaries we attempt to set.

In essence, the act of defining is not just about confinement; it’s also a means of contextualization and comprehension. It’s a dance between structure and fluidity, inviting us to explore the intricate and ever-changing terrain of human understanding.

It took a million watches but I'm pretty sure the intended interpretation of season two is that the Doctor and Rose are dating. Like not even mutual pining like they actually are dating. They kissed at the end of season one, The Christmas Invasion Rose is going on to her mom about their relationship and how she thought they were something, and in New Earth Rose calls the day the sun expands their "first date" then Cassandra is in Rose's body and makes out with Ten and he doesn't really question it just says "Still got it."

Like ship it or not, I do think the intended interpretation is that they are for realises dating. Which makes season three make even MORE sense! Martha has a crush but she isn't Rose. "Rebound" like it wasn't mutual pining they were DATING!!!!!!!!!!!
