Hi anonymous, you're welcome, I'm glad to help! You never know how or whether folks will tag their creations, so I've been challenging myself to search through as many possible variations on keywords as I can think of to discover things that are hard to find. I have to give credit where it's due, it really helped when I looked at other folks' collections of plural content they'd found on itch:

Community archivist LB Lee collected "Plural Stuff."

The Corvidae Collective made a bunch of collections, one about plurality.

Cube Well made a collection called "About Plurals By Plurals."

The plural collection I made draws largely from these, plus a few more items I found on my own. Collections on itch.io themselves seem to be sort of hidden away and hard to discover, too. Does anyone know if there's a way you can search for collections on certain topics?

no but I’m still pissed tumblr destroyed prev tags even on mobile because tags themselves are maybe one of the most interesting features of tumblr specifically BECAUSE the user base uses them not just for sorting posts (which doesn’t even work anyway SO) but for having conversations without having to add information or commentary into reblogs that clog up the post itself and intrude onto the space of the original poster. like it was a commentary track you could trace back to full conversations between sets of different people and they decided to just pull the plug for no good reason. I’ll never understand it

Tim and Jason go on a roadtrip.

It’s not entirely intentional.

It starts as a case, both of them following separate leads and ending up scheduling their takedown of the operation at the same time. They literally stumble into each other and Tim gets a good wack in before realizing it’s Jason.

The reason they stumble into each other is because the case isn’t in Gotham.

Jason, who has been piecing shell companies together through physical evidence, had driven to all of the stops along the way because hunting down a digital paper trail looked like it would’ve taken too much time.

Tim, who figured hacking wouldn’t take as long as it did, but eventually found the main base of operations, had taken a flight out for the final pieces of evidence.

When the op is finished, Jason takes Tim back to his hotel, because he actually has a place he’s staying and didn’t go straight for the base. They’re both kinda beat up and have a couple more threads to work through to tie their respective information together, so they stay at the hotel for another day.

There is little small talk, but not none. Jason says he’ll go get coffee from the lobby. Tim says that stuff is always shitty and Jason makes fun of him for being able to rank hotel chains based on their coffee quality. Tim just says that’s because Jason isn’t as well traveled as he is. Jason laughs in his face, saying with all the time he spent abroad, he’s sure he’s been around more than Tim.

They talk about domestic work they’ve done too, places they’ve been for cases between here and Gotham. Trying to one-up the other in terms of experience. Jason even mentions cases he worked back in his Robin days, which Tim recognizes from his stalker days of following their busts in other states.

They really believe that’s all they have to say on the matter. Jason even offers to drop Tim off at the airport. But by then, they’ve also discussed how neither of them have anything pressing back in Gotham. How they had each planned on taking a few days after this op to reset a bit.

Tim asks which way Jason is taking back to Gotham and critiques it. Tells him to stop by different towns and check out things that Jason laughs at him for mentioning. They snipe at each other the whole time, and before they really realize it, they’re on the road.

The whole thing is begrudgingly happening. They’re siblings, there’s a fair amount of fighting. There’s minimal “emotional” conversation, but it’s there. Unavoidable in how they each bumble through each other’s trauma. They stop at tourist traps, listen to shitty radio stations, they tell stories of previous cases and places they’ve been with friends, small family diners, switching off driving, aiming for potholes to catch air, sleeping in the back seat, driving under the stars, sleeping in shitty motels, buying their siblings joke souvenirs.

They talk about Titans tower, the pit, Shelia, Bruce. They judge Discowing and Damian. Jason asks about Steph, Tim asks about Catherine. It’s small snippets of thoughts about the most meaningful things. They are dancing around it and also finally talking about it. Getting it all out in the open.

When they get back to Gotham, it changes a lot of small things. They still hash it out occasionally, but everyone notices the change. How much more casual they are around each other, hanging out off-hours more often, working together on more ops.

They’re brothers and they act like it.

Hey, I saw your article that describes therianthropy as a lifelong identity, and I have a genuine question about that. If someone begins to identify as an animal when they didn't before (for example, if their identity is endelic and begins during a delusion), would they still be considered a therian? If not, is there a reason why?

It would be that person's own job to figure out for themself what labels, categories, and communities make the most sense for them. That's part of their own self-discovery, not something that I can do for them.

I can tell a little of what they're likely to find on that journey, though it's still theirs. That person would be different in a couple of ways from what the therian community has come to think of as the definitive (or at least typical) therianthrope: someone who has always felt they are an animal (or something other than human) from their earliest childhood memories and throughout their adulthood, whose therianthropy is not associated with a delusion.

Because of that, the person you describe would find people in the therian community who would tell them that means they don't count as a therian at all. They could meet a lot of rejection there. That person also might find friends and writings in the therian community that help them understand themself, deal with their new experiences in a good way, and build a life that they like. They might decide that the typical therian is not the only sort of therian, and that they feel it's big enough for them too. Or they might decide they're different and make up their own word for themself instead. They would have to find out for themself.

honestly it's not even just people implying fat designs are unappealing, some people in the forums have been outright saying nobody wants or likes fat designs. and like...no, there are many people here who want and like fat designs. and i really hope flight rising might hear us and consider if they want to keep appealing to fatphobes or if they want to support a community where diversity can be appreciated.

For the last few years in the US, Republicans have been circulating the litter box urban legend in parody of transgender students asking to use school restrooms. All schools deny that they have had students behaving like animals as the legend describes. The first two bills this year (2024) that were inspired by the legend are:

Oklahoma House Bill 3084 is Humphrey's, pictured above, which he revealed in an interview is his response to the litter box urban legend, which he believes is true, and

Mississippi House Bill 176, which is mostly against transgender students, but also has a portion about students who identify as nonhuman. Of the two, this one looks like a more serious threat.

These two bills follow up from four Republican bills from last year that were also inspired by the litter box urban legend:

North Dakota House Bill 1522 passed, with the line about animals deleted, keeping the anti-transgender portion,

Oklahoma Senate Bill 943 died, but Humphrey's appears to have been based on it,

Indiana Statehouse Bill 380 passed, implicitly about furries and transgender students, but without in-text reference to them, and

A proposed amendment to Montana Senate Bill 544, which passed without that amendment.

Users @specimentality and @athena5898 are correct in their assessments. Another tactic to watch out for is that Humphrey may be using this intentionally bizarre bill to distract from other bills. For example, a racist bill he introduced on the same day, Oklahoma House Bill 3133. Everyone who is reacting to Humphrey's anti-furry bill one way or another would do well to consider whether their response is exactly what Republicans want to stir up, and how that might play into their intent.

I'm writing a more in-depth blog post about this year's bills. When I'm finished, I'll put a link to it in this thread.

Kids will roleplay critters and warrior cats. Maybe a kid wants to wear cat ears. It’s all harmless fun. What the hell. This is stupid and not okay! CALLING ANIMAL CONTROL ON THEM? HOW IS THIS NOT SATIRE!! Oklahoma is one of the worst ranked states in education, and THIS is what their government is worried about. Absolutely stupid. If you’re in OK tell your representatives that this is dumb and pressure them to vote against it.

It's hard to explain why, I think it just feels kind of cozy and domestic (fittingly after an episode where J and B have been acting Extremely Married). Jeeves waiting to pick up Bertie from his darts thing and ask how it went like a supportive spouse. The two of them exchanging meaningful glances about Stilton. am I the only one who’s insane about how in 12 final days when roger is at his anxious peak about the beginning of the laver cup, apprehensively approaching and greeting the group of players in the event center, djokovic is the one to let him know impartially that he is wearing a tux shirt and not a suit shirt, wherein roger still has the time to go change which he does, and this is right after the movie frames the still remaining tense dynamic between the two and djokovic’s vaguely inexplicable and ambiguous reason for showing up today
