there's a certain thing that often happens with podcasts as they mature and get better sound design, which is that they try to convey more information through it rather than dialogue. which, every time it happens, is a bit of a slippery slope, because a *thud* could be any number of things, and usually isnt by itself enough to convey the scene. Only if you know what you're supposed to hear does it seems obvious
unrelatedly when i heard the Bonzo scene before reading the transcript i visualized him slowly crawling out of an old TV-set ring-girl style
#and i still think that's cooler#it seems like the transcripts are now being written concurrently with the episode#instead of afterwards and describing what can be heard#which creates a grey zone canon wise#are the scene descriptions from the official transcripts 'canon'? or is Ring-style Bonzo just as canon if the audio supports it?#not that what is strictly canon is a terrifyingly important distinction#but still#tmagp#tmagp s1#tmagp spoilers#bonzo

Rescued Writing Links!
When cleaning out the HEY, Writers! Pinterest I moved some links here. The internet has changed a LOT since I started collecting these, so some links may include outdated info. All were still active when I made this, but it's been in my drafts for a hot minute.
Protip! In Firefox, check to toggle reader view when reading these (mobile: the page icon in the url bar; desktop: same icon or hit F9). This removes popups, ads, screen clutter, and often has an audio option.
Survivors of Internet Decay Award!
These active sites featured most often in my collections so they get the top of the list.

A Deal's a Deal II.

Yan Chrollo x F Reader
Warnings: Yandere themes, unhealthy relationships, descriptions of anxiety and emotional/mental manipulation. Word count: 4.1k.
Prev
You met Chrollo at an old hole-in-the-wall bookstore that housed archaic texts.
There was little information on your condition, but what material did exist hid itself beneath allegory and ciphers. The best leads came from high strangeness circles. They expanded on Jung’s concept of the collective unconscious, drawing parallels between historical records across cultures and periods that all implied some system that transcended physical limitations. Whether it came from alchemists like Paracelsus, mystics like Crowley, or authors like William Blake, hints of this system can be found sprinkled throughout history.
Chrollo informed you that this system is commonly called ‘Nen.’
Before him, the nomenclature eluded you. You simply regarded it as a phenomenon best kept to yourself. The world’s a weird place, filled with inexplicable things that the human mind can’t always comprehend. This handheld device, which you nicknamed Instant Replay, is the foremost example.
You were always aware that you knew things you shouldn’t have. As a child, it perplexed you. Why do people sometimes sound weird? A few trips to the audiologist proved your hearing is perfectly fine. When this avenue didn’t provide answers, you ended up in counseling, where you reenacted the dilemma with dolls. For a while, you insisted that what you heard was real. It frustrated you to no end that the adults in your life either dismissed you or offered bromides.
As an adult yourself in the present, you can’t blame them for being at a loss.
You smartened up eventually. What you once blabbed about to anyone who would listen, you kept to yourself. This eased the tensions at home. Your parents seemed happy that the issue had ‘resolved’ itself and you maintained the illusion. Playing pretending could only do so much — the core problem remained. Your mind made the connection that when another was being dishonest, that’s when their voice would sound strange. After you realize that, there’s no going back. The epiphany changed how you interacted with others for better and for worse.
“You want to get rid of your ability?” he sounded surprised when he asked.
“How could I not?” you replied. “People lie… a lot. Friends, family, strangers. And, okay, that might not seem bad, but imagine always being aware of it. It— It eats away at you. Wears down your ability to trust. I have to act like I’m none the wiser, knowing full well someone just lied to my face. I don’t want to know! I’m tired of knowing!”
“You’re unable to control when it’s active?”
“Instant Replay lets me ‘review’ audio, both in real-time and after it’s been recorded. I have control over the latter, but that’s it.”
Your antagonistic relationship with Nen fascinated Chrollo. According to him, most people were intentional when it came to crafting their Hatsu. There are very few cases like yours where Hatsu is subconsciously given shape and form. You wish your subconscious had created something more useful, like a sword. That would’ve been cool.
“Could I learn a new ability to oust Instant Replay?” you wondered.
“Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way,” Chrollo dismissed. “In theory, it is possible to learn different abilities, although your inexperience would make that difficult. There’s no way to erase an ability either. You can, however, lose access to it. For instance, there’s my predicament, or…”
He leaned in close and whispered:
“... Someone could steal it.”
-
Chrollo looks out of place in your apartment.
It’s a cozy, lived-in space, full of trinkets that he thoughtfully examines as if he were in the Louvre. Meanwhile, you prepare two cups of tea. Chamomile with honey for you and Earl Grey for him. After setting the timer for five minutes, you realize there’s not much else to do but wait. The silence is unusual and unnerving. Anticipation thrums through the air like an electric current. You feel it coursing through your blood; tingling along your skin.
The barstool you’ve chosen as your perch groans against the wooden floor as you pull it out.
Chrollo picks up a picture for closer inspection. You crane your neck, curious about which snapshot captured his attention. It’s from a night out with friends. Empty plates and drinks littered the table and each of you crowded in close to fit into frame. Since the restaurant was high-end, you were dolled up, adorned in an outfit that rarely saw the light of day.
“Swarovski?” He sounds amused.
“I’ve been known to splurge on the occasion,” you huff. “The necklace was on sale and the earrings were—”
You cut yourself off, although you’re unsure why. It shouldn’t be a taboo topic. Nonetheless, beneath the weight of his gaze, you couldn’t get the word out.
“—From an ex?” He offers.
You nod.
He returns the picture to its proper place, a cryptic smile on his lips. “So even you aren’t above materialistic impulses, hm?”
“There’s a difference between rampant consumerism and buying yourself something nice on occasion,” you retaliate, disliking the edge of mockery in his voice. “I don’t need to hear this from the dude wearing a silver Rolex watch.”
“It’s white gold.”
You roll your eyes. “A camel through the eye of a needle.”
“‘First cast out the beam out of thine own eye.’”
“Do you seriously have the entire King James version of the Bible memorized?”
“It was one of the most accessible texts in my youth,” he says, his smile softening into something pensive. “The missionaries were far more generous with those showing signs of ‘progress.’ I tried helping my companions memorize the more significant passages, but they weren’t what you’d call ideal pupils.”
Missionaries? You purse your lips and consider the implications. Had Chrollo grown up in destitution? Come to think of it, you know very little about him or his background. Unlike you, he never volunteered the information. He skillfully maneuvered around any inquiry into his past. The most you’ve gleaned is that he’s a traveling antiquarian who, in pursuit of valuables, made some enemies along the way.
The shrill shriek of the timer rips you from your thoughts.
Chrollo accepts his mug with a “thank you” and sits on the rightmost side of your coach. After plopping two ice cubes into your concoction, you join him, leaving ample room between you. The nerves from earlier return. He’s an easy man to converse with, but when his mind is preoccupied — as it most certainly is now — you’re at a loss. Do you try reinitiating banter? Opt for a completely different topic? Or should you let him initiative, squirming around until he breaks the thickening tension?
“Have I held you in suspense long enough?” Chrollo asks while holding his hand out. A book with a handprint on the cover appears, the pages flipping too fast for you to gauge their contents.
The quality of his aura temporarily stupefies you. This must be the difference between a novice like yourself and a genius. You can muster up enough aura to summon Instant Replay, but that takes considerable effort. To him, managing the flow of aura comes as easy as breathing. You scooch closer to study his technique. How long would it take you to match his expertise? Years? Decades?
“I’ll get bashful if you keep staring at me like that.”
“Liar,” you accuse without any real malice.
He chuckles.
“Give me your hand.”
Heat rushes to your face as you recall what happened when you last parted. “D-Do I have to?”
“Yes.”
Hesitantly, you do as he requests. He maneuvers your hand against the conjured book’s cover. You gnaw on your bottom lip, trepidation brewing inside your soul. You thought you’d feel relieved when this moment came. There’d be some butterflies, yes, but that would quickly give way to relief and exhilaration. The thorn that’s been in your side all these years is finally coming out. Your quid pro quo has reached its conclusion; this is your reward, your ticket to a normal life.
“I like you too.”
“I’ll be there whenever you need me.”
“It’s okay if you come.”
“I promise I won’t tell anyone.”
“We’ll always be together.”
Yes, people lie a lot. Sometimes, you’re unsure if they’re even aware of it themselves. They lie to you, the people they love, the people they hate, and themselves. Fate decided you’d be made witness to their folly, sewing your lips shut and eyes wide open. The wounds it left behind are intangible and incurable. How do you heal what you can’t explain knowing to others? How do you explain your hesitation, shift in demeanor, and inadequate coverup?
The sound of Instant Replay whirring reverberates throughout your skull.
Chrollo speaks your name softly. You startle, realizing that you’re blinking back tears.
“I—”
“It’s alright,” he reassures. The words sound crisp — genuine — soothing your budding concern that you’re inconveniencing him somehow. In an instant, the hardcover dissipates, leaving your hand flat against nothing. Chrollo takes the opportunity to come closer. When you don’t protest, he completely closes the distance, until you’re thigh to thigh.
He smells good. Intoxicatingly so.
“Show me the ability you despise so much, dear.”
Dear? You think to protest the emergence of this nickname, yet you can’t bring yourself to. Instead, you follow his order, mechanically lifting your arm and summoning your ability much like he had.
“Good. It’s almost over with,” he brushes the wetness away from your eyes with his knuckles. Your heart leaps at the contact. “Finally, I have to ask about your ability. There are so many possibilities… what to choose, what to choose… ah.”
With the same hand that wiped away your nascent tears, he cups your cheek.
“Do you trust a man like me with such a dangerous ability?”
“I have my reservations,” you respond. You don’t miss the amusement he derives from your candidness. “This sounds bad, but… at this point, I guess I just don’t care.”
For a moment, all is still. There’s no odor of sulfur, maniacal cackling, or declaration that the ritual is complete. You didn’t have to sign a contract in blood or swear an oath to an infernal being. Your overactive imagination ran numerous scenarios through your head. The lack of flair over this life-defining moment is almost underwhelming. You frown, fearing that there was an error somewhere along the way. If there was, he’s given no indication, yet you’ll remain restless until the results are confirmed.
“Chrollo?”
“Hm?”
“Did it work?”
“It did, love.”
“Could you, um,” you lick your lips, a motion that draws his attention. “Make something up so I can know for sure?”
This request amuses him.
“How will you know if I’m being honest to mess around with you or not?”
At this, you give him a light shove. Given his apparent playfulness, you expected him to move back, but he doesn’t budge an inch. It felt like trying to move a concrete building.
“Make it an obvious lie, then.”
“An obvious lie, hm?” He mulls over your suggestion. “Very well. How about this: I don’t want you beneath me.”
You gape at him, dumbstruck.
“I find it easy to control my urges around you.”
He keeps going.
“I’m unmoved by your beauty…”
He gently pushes your shoulders until you’re lying down.
“... Your wit…”
He hovers above you, tracing the outline of your lips with his pointer finger.
“... And boundless charm.”
Chrollo tilts your head up by your chin. “Well? Do you believe me now?”
Slowly, as if in a daze, you nod. Your heart lurches, the organ beating loud enough to hear in your ears. You feel uncomfortably warm, like your heater’s been cranked to the highest setting. Gradually, the violent joy you expected to accompany your liberation abounds, starting at your chest and overflowing outward. You’re smiling, breathless, your corporeal form barely able to contain the glee. You see your reflection in Chrollo’s eyes. There’s a manic quality to your countenance; you barely recognize yourself.
You’re free, you’re free, you’re free—
His lips find yours. Your cognition short circuits, leaving you in a reverie where you can barely understand what’s happening. He handles you so carefully that it’s easy to forget you’re physically trapped. He carries on, either failing to notice your apprehension or disregarding it.
On some level, you’ve always sensed this underlying attraction. You remained purposefully obtuse. There was too much at stake — jeopardizing your aims for a fling felt counterintuitive. On paper, he’d make for the ideal partner. He’s devilishly handsome, charismatic, and intelligent to a fault. Aside from some dubious morality, you couldn’t ask for a better suitor.
And still, hesitation prevailed.
Every now and then, there’d be glimpses of some great, existential threat, beneath the fissures of his porcelain mask. These glimpses gave you pause. You think he could’ve tried harder to hide these damning qualities, yet chose not to. Where’s the fun — the thrill — in always playing nice? You needed his help more than he needed yours. His connections spanned continents, whereas yours were shallow and easy to uproot.
How many of your convictions would you compromise?
How far would you let the poison spread to cure another affliction?
How can you look down on him if you’ve fallen to the same level?
When he pulls away, you avert your gaze, fearing what stares back.
“... So you are afraid of me, then.”
Chrollo lets you wriggle out from underneath him. When your eyes make brief contact, it feels like he’s inspecting you, as if you were a specimen in a petri dish. It isn’t the reaction you’d expect from a rejected man. Nonetheless, you’re on edge and longing for a menial task to occupy yourself with. Recalling the state of the kitchen, you decide that will suffice.
He remains seated as you wash and dry the implements used to make your tea.
This uncharacteristic silence unsettles you further. The only audible sound in your apartment is your faucet, the water running over silverware that’s plenty clean. You scrub at it harder, wondering what you should do next. Originally, you intended to thank him for his pivotal role in removing your burden. You never would have made it this far without his assistance. Even with this strange atmosphere, your gratitude remains unwavering.
You’ll be able to live life like anyone else now. It’s an accomplishment worthy of celebration, regardless of the twists and turns along the way. Maybe he misinterpreted your body language or acted on an impulse. These mistakes can happen when emotions run high.
Okay, you think, psyching yourself up. This doesn’t have to be weird. I can—
“Have you given much thought over last week’s unpleasantness?”
Your heart skips a beat and your shoulders droop.
“I assume you haven’t,” he says. “That’s fair. It must’ve been frightening… I wish I could have spared you such an experience.”
The appreciation he previously instilled in you desiccates, drop by drop.
“Will you please get to the point?”
Under different circumstances, you would’ve been more patient with his preamble, but this is a sore subject. A buried corpse like that shouldn’t be exhumed. His reasoning, though elusive to you now, doesn’t inspire warm sentiments.
“That incident won’t be the last of its kind.”
You turn around as he approaches, sipping his tea. He leans against the counter and eyes you over the cup’s rim.
“In truth, we should’ve left hours ago, but I was feeling sentimental.”
“‘We?’ Chrollo, what are you talking about?”
“Had it not been for your role in getting my Nen back, Hisoka would’ve killed you,” Chrollo says this so casually that you question if you’re hearing him right. “Now that you’ve done your part, he has a vested interest in doing so.”
You no longer have a way to verify if he’s telling the truth or not. It’s so stupid, so unfair, that you almost laugh. Instant Replay no longer heeds your call. You surrendered it to a new master, who, before taking it from your willing hands, all but told you he was the worst person you could’ve picked.
Chrollo continues, “He’s a peculiar case. All he cares about is fighting formidable opponents, and, with my Nen returned, I am one.”
You take a step back.
“That business is between you two. I fail to see how this involves me.”
“I have preparations to finish before I face him,” Chrollo explains. “He doesn’t feel like waiting any longer. Harming you is an excellent way to speed things along. Even I don’t know what I’d do if you were fatally injured.”
You shake your head. “I— you’re not serious. There’s just no way. I’m moving past all of this bullshit. Nen, Hatsu, whatever; that has nothing to do with me anymore. I’m done.”
“I’m sorry, dear.”
“No, you aren’t!” Your voice raises in pitch, pulled as taut as a bowstring. “You knew, didn’t you? That this would be a problem? Oh, oh, you had to, why else would you have acted all weird when you saw him? Stop looking at me like you care, like you’re sorry, 'cause this is the best-case scenario for you!”
You pace back and forth, your mind racing. This was a mistake. Walking up to him because you recognized the book in his hands was a mistake. Is he bluffing? And if he is, does it matter? You can’t put up a fight. You don’t think you could even make it to the door. If he was a regular man, you’d have options. You could yell for help, call the cops, and inflict some damage, minor as it may be. All those tactics turn to ash before an oppressive, incomprehensible force like this.
You snap your head in his direction. “Aren’t you going to say something?”
“I don’t see how that will help.”
You prepare to spew vitriol his way, when a dreadful thought shoots through you like a bullet.
“My family. What about them? Won’t they be in danger too?”
“They aren’t on his radar.”
“How do you know that?”
“Please don’t take this the wrong way,” Chrollo sets the cup down. “The suffering of your loved ones wouldn’t elicit a reaction from me, so he won’t bother. Targeting you is the wisest option.”
Words fail you. Is this it? The depravity he kept subdued finally let loose, so dense in its quality that it threatens to suffocate you? All you wanted was a semblance of normalcy. Normal relationships, interactions, and problems. Has the path you’ve treaded brought you further away from this humble aspiration? Or is there still a way, some faint silver lining that you must find and latch onto?
“What about after?”
“Hm?”
“After Hisoka is dealt with,” you clarify, tapping your foot repeatedly. “You’re not going to let him live, are you?”
“That’s rather dark.”
“Chrollo,” you implore.
“No, I won’t,” he confirms. “As for what comes next — I intend to persuade you.”
You regard him with suspicion. His tone and the implications sink into you like a venomous bite. He exudes quiet confidence, indicating that nothing you’ve said will influence him in any meaningful way. Dread sticks to your stomach, making your body feel heavy. You hug yourself, clenching your upper arms with shaky fingers. Any lingering excitement from earlier has vaporized, leaving behind a profound hollowness.
“I suppose this can go a few ways,” you murmur. “I could cause as many headaches for you as possible, or, I could be decent enough.”
“I’m listening.”
“I’d like to have Instant Replay back,” you say. He quirks an eyebrow. “Just for a bit. What? I’m assuming if you can steal something, you can give it back, right?”
“You’d be correct. Still, that begs the question; what are you intending to accomplish with this little scheme?”
“Nothing that’ll inconvenience you in any major way.”
Chrollo falls silent. You dig your nails into your flesh as the seconds drag on, awaiting his verdict. If he had your ability activated, he should’ve been able to discern your honesty. Then again, he’s aware of the workarounds. To ensure your words wouldn’t register as untrue, you had to remain vague and subjective. What you consider an inconvenience could differ drastically from him.
“I’m sure I won’t regret this.”
Your eyes widen. That dissonant timbre is unmistakable, he returned your ability! Filled with newfound resolve, you stride toward him, your eyes blazing. This is your chance. You need to make the most of this opening before it’s gone forever. He could choose not to answer any of your questions, but something tells you he won’t, like it’d injure his pride. You issued him a challenge and he’s intent on meeting it.
“Did you have anything to do with what happened last week?”
“I didn’t.”
“Did Hisoka?”
“No, he just happened to be observing you from afar.”
“Why?”
“For his personal amusement, I’d wager.”
“He’d really kill me just to… agitate you?”
“It’s in line with his character.”
You swallow thickly and press on.
“And if you’re wrong?”
“Then I’m wrong. Regardless, you’ll be alive and well.”
“Can you win against him in a fight?”
“Yes.”
“And if you somehow lose, what happens next?”
“My companions will hunt him down and kill him.”
Now that you’ve gotten your most pressing inquiries out of the way, you decide to wade through dangerous waters. Chrollo likely saw the benefit in assuaging your doubt, these next questions provide him nothing substantial. His willingness to humor you is undoubtedly finite. Keeping this in mind, you consider the possibilities. You may never have a chance like this again. Is there anything that can give you an advantage? You’ll take anything, no matter how small, even if all it offers is an illusion of control.
Chrollo glances at his watch in a not-so-subtle motion.
“Who sealed your Nen?”
“Now this is more what I expected,” he hums. His eyes take on a bright, unsettling shade. “An individual with a longstanding grudge. Your paths will not cross, I suggest adopting another plan of attack.”
He saw right through you. You knew it was a long shot, but collaborating with this mysterious figure would have proven advantageous. They must be powerful in their own right to have bested Chrollo. Should you try pressing for more information? Then again, Chrollo doesn’t seem keen on sharing more, much to your chagrin.
What does that leave you with…?
“How do you plan on ‘persuading’ me?”
“You’re better off not knowing until we get to that point.”
You frown. If that didn’t register as a lie, it must be what he genuinely believes. Curiosity plagues you, dredging up anxiety. You have but a few grains of sand left in the hourglass remaining. It’s suspended midair, poised to drop at the most ill-timed moment. The approach of the end is worse than its inevitable arrival. You now have the chance to hasten its onset, at the risk of being debilitated by the impact. What lows would he resort to? Are you actually better off remaining ignorant?
“Alright, let’s—”
“Does it hurt to know I’ll never love you?”
Up until this point, he’s fired back with a near instant response. This time, however, he hesitates, the invasive nature of the inquiry necessitating careful thought. You finally found an effective ‘attack.’ It’s too late to do you any lasting good, but you greedily devour it nonetheless. When dealing with a person of Chrollo’s caliber, it’s easy to forget he possesses the same human qualities you do. You might be unable to stop his heart from beating, but you can make the organ ache.
“I can live with it, dear.”
You pinch your eyebrows together, thrown off by his voice’s clarity. Is the knowledge that inconsequential to him? Have you misjudged his attachment? While considering this, you flex your fingers, concentrating your aura there. You can’t repeat his words back since Instant Replay wasn’t recording, but you still decide to conjure it. You’ll record what remains of this conversation to ensure you don’t miss anything else.
The flow of your aura halts at your wrist, refusing to take form. Frowning, you try again, only to realize he must have reclaimed your ability.
When did that happen? Was it before or after his response?
Chrollo says your name, regaining your attention. “I fulfilled my end of the bargain. Will you do the same?”
After playing the role of the interrogator, you’re back to being an inmate. You meant what you said — when you said it, that is. This is yet another loophole to subvert Instant Replay. What’s true to you in one instant can change in the next. It’s frightening how fast he’s learned these nuances that took you years to test and discover. He’s already making the most of your ability, turning what was a thorn in your side into a full-fledged dagger.
“What choice do I have?”
“There’s always a choice,” Chrollo asserts. “You just have a habit of making the wrong ones.”
A delirious laugh leaves your lips.
"... I suppose you're right."

Yuu has the audacity to ask a question. It leads to some interesting moments
Jade Leech, Rook Hunt, Vil Schoenheit, Floyd Leech
Jade Leech
“Jade, can I ask you a question?” It’s not often that the library is so packed that you end up sharing a table but if it had to be with anybody, at least it was Jade.
Jade wasn’t naturally academically smart. He took a lot of notes and studied in order to come out in the middle. There were folks that thought he was simply keeping his head down, but Yuu found out by accident. She knew Jade was incredibly street smart and people savvy though, no matter what grades he got. It worked in her favor though, as Jade let them copy notes from last year in exchange for not sharing the information anywhere. Not that Yuu planned too, but they weren’t going to pass up such an opportunity either.
“Of course, I will assist in anyway I can.”
“Do you have any books that you would recommend for scavenging for local flora and fauna in the woods back at Ramshackle? I’ve tried searching through the library but it’s a bit too vague for what I need.”
If Yuu had blinked, they would have missed the brief surprise and delight on his face.
“Well,” he sets his pen down, “As the president of the Mountain Lovers club, I’m sure we could discuss that during our meetings. If only you were a member.” he sighed
“If only Crowley would allow me to join any clubs.” Yuu muttered, “I know it's a requirement for first and second years to be involved in at least one, but he says I have far more to offer as his unofficial assistant. Unpaid is more accurate but what do I know.”
Jade smiles, the one that matches his brothers. Wide and full of teeth.
“Leave Crowley to me, dear Prefect. You just meet me in the morning behind Ramshackle. Bring a basket and your camera, oh, and dress warm. It'll be cold for you.”
He writes some extra instructions on a slip of paper and collects his things, turning left at the library doors. Damn, that was straight to the headmasters’ office too. Jade really doesn't play around when it comes to the Mountain Lover's club.
While Yuu isn’t able to attend every meeting, the Mountain Lover’s club apparently includes trips to other countries, recipes cooked in the Ramshackle kitchen as well as appreciating cultures and crafts made by various peoples which slowly starts to decorate the rickety dorm into something interesting and unique. Jade becomes a different person as a traveler and seems to find joy in just exploring and discovering all the different ways that people create and eat and live.
After he graduates, Yuu gifts him the book that the two of them created, with pictures and descriptions of all the Night Raven College fauna and flora, their uses, if they are edible, and different recipe and potion ingredients, the regions it comes from, and even snippets of stories and memories they share.
Jade is not an emotional man, but when he asks you to come with him on his next expedition, his smile is full of joy.
Rook Hunt
“Rook, can I ask you a question?”
Rook looks down from his spot in the tree, a camera perched in his hands. “Amazing eyesight, Mon Trickster! I did not anticipate being found. Ask away, but be quick, less Roi de Lion suspects me.”
“Are there any plays or poetry books that would be good for a beginner? I read a lot back home but I know there is cultural and historical context I'm going to be missing-”
“I am so happy!” he practically drops the tree, taking both of her hands to kiss the knuckles, “I would be happy to help you. Come, come!”
Oh, they are going to the library now. Right now. Ok, Yuu should have expected that.
Rook is always excitable, but he’s mindful as well. Picking out smaller volumes at first, and adding some reference materials, putting a few back as he asks questions about what she has already read or what she typically enjoys. He also writes out a list for audio books and radio performances. Thank the Seven that Crowley finally got them a phone and they could excuse the data usage for school.
“I have the films I would be willing to lend, but I would ask you be incredibly careful.”
“Oh, I don’t have a TV or any type of DVD player at Ramshackle. We try and keep the places as authentic as possible. It helps when the ghosts come to visit on Hallow’s eve.” They don’t have wifi either and their electricity runs off a backup generator, but Yuu doesn’t mention that. They are distinctly aware of how rundown Ramshackle is, but they try not to advertise how badly.
“What dedication you have to your dorm and the history of Night Raven College. We may do so in Pomefiore!”
And that’s how they end up having movie night basically every Wednesday night, sometimes with other Pomefiore members or even Vil himself refreshing on the classics. Rook would sit close by, quietly explaining certain contexts and even joining Yuu on reading through some of the poetry books. His passion comes out more with his knowledge than his speech in those moments, and it’s...nice. Normally Rook is the most reserved person she knows. He’s family is still a mystery, but she’s learned more about his beliefs and insights into how he perceives life in general.
“This is how I met Roi de Poison, you know. He enchanted me at first sight, but his mind...he understood my passion for theater, music and beauty. He respected me, once I proved that I loved him for more than his looks and roles.”
Crazy fan he might have been in the past, it was definitely more of an equal relationship once you saw past the surface level. Yuu eventually started picking a few habits and fashion tips, slowly becoming a bit more refined. Elegant even, she might say.
When she hesitantly asks for help with other things, it's easier each time. Help with skincare routines, or experimenting with make-up, what colors work best and how silhouettes come across. It’s never been this fun to experiment with her style. It helps that Rook, while thinking certain things definitely work, will be gentle in the things that aren’t.
“They do not enhance your beauty,” he says, sounding like Vil, “And you are already magnifique.”
He is the first person that she shares her book of stories with, the precognitions that she has
“Do you think fairy tales are fiction?” He asks her, quietly skimming over the passages of Snow White. The Fairest Queen is barely mentioned, but without her, there is no story.
“Living here feels like a fairy tale, but if it is, you’ve made it a wonderful dream.”
Rook looks at her, a surprised chuckle slipping out. Before he can hide it, his nose crinkles, a smile wide enough to show his gums, and Yuu thinks it enhances all the best of him.
Vil Schoenheit
“Vil, may I ask you a question?”
“At least somebody paid attention when I went over manners. You may.” Vil says, as he adds in some sort of lilac powder. Normally, they wouldn’t have any classes together, but with Yuu acting as an ‘assistant’ towards the teachers to make extra cash, they got to see the second and third years more than even the other first years in their dorms.
“How do you make time for it all? Between the acting jobs, getting good grades in school, indulging in potionology and homebrew makeup in your limited free time, it seems like you get so much done with just as much time as the rest of us.”
“Thank you for noticing.” Vil says, looking up from his potion work. “And yes, I do keep a very organized schedule. Every minute is planned and my down time is spent decompressing efficiently.”
“Is there any articles or techniques you would recommend? Or a template you used?”
“You could just ask me for help, you know.” he retorts, huffing a bit.
“I know I could, but I also want to be respectful of what you have on your plate.”
“Ah, potato...I have plenty of time, especially in this season. I don’t schedule anything this close to finals. Come sit with me this evening for dinner and we will talk goals and progress markers. There is more to this mentally than most people think.”
Vil is a bit less than impressed when he sees just how much Yuu accomplishes for Night Raven College with no credit and makes a note to talk to the teachers and Crowley about getting her properly compensated or at least. But overall, it goes well, making time for exercise, hobbies, studies and even some time with him. Telling her about the techniques he used and actually practicing them were two different things, and some things are just easier to show rather than tell.
“Alright, let’s start here.”
Mindfulness, ironically for somebody outside Scarabina, is important to Vil. Sinking fully into the experience of his daily life, looking at all the colors, enjoying his foods with no screens, or just enjoying the quiet while he removes makeup. His decompress is like a valve that he releases in minutes throughout the day, not hours at the end of it.
“This takes practice. Don’t discourage yourself if you don’t get it every time, eventually it will come more naturally.”
And it does. Over the months, Yuu feels more productive than ever, even finding time to wonder about her own style. It is a bit embarrassing when Vil enters Ramshackle to use the Guest Room to study and sees her hastily trying to wash off eyeshadow.
“Oh, spudling, not your color. No, no, here.” He sits, and teaches, a bit harshly at times, but he wouldn’t be Vil if he wasn’t direct. Much like Riddle, he fully believes that people can reach his level, and sees no reason why they shouldn’t. And while Yuu will never be Vil pretty, she certainly feels more beautiful and confident now than she ever has before.
It isn’t until Vil is reviewing one of his performances that Yuu makes a comment, some offhand remark about the script not quite matching the vernacular expected for the period, that he invites her to sit and review more.
Yuu doesn’t think it’s anything spectular, it’s kind of obvious, but apparently it wasn’t to the rest of the audience.
Vil sits at thier usual tea table in the Night Raven Gardens, and slides a ticket over to her.
“If you have time. I know you recently picked up a few photography jobs in town that would be a shame to miss. Rapport with clients is key, you know.”
It’s the red-carpet event to a 5th year anniversary movie he did as a child. All glitz and glam, showing just how much they have grown as actors and people since their debuts. It’s a milestone even for Vil, the first and only role where he was played a supporting role that wasn’t a villain or antagonist.
“What colors are you wearing? I might have something that compliments.” Yuu asks, already going through their mind for anything suitable in Ramshackle.
“Well,” Vil preens, opening his laptop. “We will just have to buy something together to ensure we match, won’t we? When are you free?”
It’s so small Yuu almost misses it, but hidden underneath his painted blush is a heated blush, quiet and pink and delighted.
Floyd Leech
“Floyd, can I ask you a question?”
Floyd doesn’t even bother looking up from his spot at the table, “Better not be a boring question Shrimpy, or I’ll squeeze ya~”
“Where do you go to get your shoes repaired?”
His head snaps up just a bit, left eye brighter than usual.
“Ace had mentioned that your sole had torn during practice,” Yuu continues, feeling like they have to explain themselves with how intensely he was staring, “But the next day it had been stitched back on like new. There are some fantastic leather boots from the old NRC uniforms that I'd love to use, but I’m trying to find somebody who won’t butcher them or tell me they aren’t repairable just cause there old or out of style, you know?”
Floyd nods, eyes still searching before ultimately just shrugging his shoulders. “Hmmm...at least it wasn’t boring. Meet at Monstro Lounge at 6 lil’ Shrimpy, bring the shoes!”
He walks away before Yuu can even say that they have to meet with somebody else, but that really isn’t a possibility when a Leech brother has demanded your attention. Looks like you’ll have to reschedule with Deuce.
The Monstro Lounge is fairly steady, though Yuu has never seen it slow. Always some sort of deal or exclusive that sets these rich bastards running through the doors, even if it’s just so they don’t have to deal with the lines in the cafeteria or cook their own food.
Jade waves you in, taking the box from your hands in a gentlemanly manner, and leading you to the side. Floyd is quick to intercept, mumbling a thank you before his long strides leave you almost jogging.
“Alright, let’s see what we are working with.”
The dorm is clearly shared between him and Jade. Crisp white walls, a seashell and sea motif on the desk and headboard and some floating shelves that look vaguely like drift wood, exactly what she expected from Octanvinelle. But that’s about all the two sides have in common. Jade’s is organized, of course, but notable is the terrariums on the shelves and a stack of geology books tucked into the corner, along with photos of places he may have been or plans to go.
Floyd’s half is a mess, yes, but it’s organized chaos, like looking at Ace and Deuce’s dorm. High protein snacks are tucked on the shelves, completed 3D puzzles, and...fashion magazines? Huh, he did say that merpeople didn’t really have a reason to wear clothes so land peoples being so obsessed with it would be interesting, especially in different regions or cultures. And the trends are constantly changing. It actually started fitting, the more Yuu thought about it.
Floyd set the box on the desk, picking up the shoes and bending them this way and that, pressing on the heel or pinches the toe.
“You’ve taken good care of them,” He says, “The stitches are loose and the nails need to be hammered back in, but the leather is clean and strong. I’d get some new leather laces though, the wax on these has completely frayed from misuse. How old are these?”
“They're from back when Ezra and the others went to school, but they don’t have a great concept of time.” Floyd raises an eyebrow. “Oh, the ghosts at Ramshackle.”
“Huh, no wonder it felt like the place was trying to kick us out.” Floyd walks over to the walk-in closet and Yuu has to double take. She would have mistaken the closet for Jade’s! On the left, the clothes are hung neatly on the rack except for the everyday items like the basketball or school uniform which have their own spots hung neatly on the door itself. Below that are clear boxes that seem to hold all sort of tools. Are these hobbies that Floyd has picked up and gotten bored with?
But the right side of the walk in closet is just racks and racks of shoes. Wing tip dress, loafers, even a few kitten heels and red backed stiletos. All perfectly shined and displayed.
“Floyd, you repair your own shoes?” Yuu taking the box he hands her.
“When you are as tall as me and Jade, you end up having to customize and fix a lot of your own clothes, unless you wanna pay some stupid prices, and standing there while they pin and stuff is boring. I’d rather just do it myself.” He takes out a wicked looking needle and a stand, securing it to the desk with a flick of a lever. “Which pair is your size?”
“Oh, these.” she says, picking up a pair of loafers and ankle boots. “I can’t afford for you to do this for me Floyd. I don’t have the funds right now.”
He just leans against the table with a laugh, “Oh, I aint doin’ it for free. Your gonna pay me by letting me keep a pair, specifically those.”
He points to the bottom of the box, a pair of thigh high riding boots from what she can tell.
“Those are the ones in the worst shape?”
“Oh, I won’t be able to get them to their original form, but I can lengthen the sole and toe area a bit, add a heel, and have a wicked pair of thighs high stilettos that’ll have even Betta fish jealous~”
“With your legs, you’d look really good in a skirt.”
They both blink.
“Shit, sorry, my mouth ran-” Floyd laughs, something softer than usual.
“Your damn right Shrimpy.” He smiles, “I do look damn good in a skirt. I prefer dresses though.”
He takes a seat, motioning for her to take the other side, sets the shoe inside the stand, and starts explaining the process. It doesn’t always make sense but he’s clearly passionate about it.
This might be a truer version of him, Yuu thinks, seeing him carefully take out a rusted nail to pull out a fresh silver one from an even smaller box. One that isn’t bored or moody, but just...getting able to do something that actually interests him.
“Hey Floyd. Do you want to go thrifting with me and Kalim on Sunday? I think you’d have some interesting things to say about some of the finds, especially the clothes mart. They literally have a bin of vintage pieces for a dollar a piece.”
He leans back, and does that smile again. All teeth but his eyes relax, all boyishly charming.
“You got all the audacity in the world, don’t you?” He chuckles, “I’ll get my shift covered.”

Why such a strict no spoiler policy btw? It's not like it's gonna change whether or not people know the song and/or like it? Not complaining just curious for your reasoning
Because the point of this poll blog is to listen to the music with an open mind and no prejudice against the artist/song/genre/language/decade it's from etc, and just press like or dislike based on the song clip itself after actually have given it a listen. :) That's why the clip is so short, because if it appeals to you you'll be wanting to listen to the whole thing, if not, then at least you heard some of it and move on.
Also for people to have some whimsy in their lives. Poll #600 seems to have been a delightful surprise for many who didn't know what they pressed play for :D 💖
See it as me presenting you with a little gift, maybe not wrapped up in the prettiest way but you still get to unwrap it and discover the surprise by yourself. 🎁 Everybody likes unwrapping gifts :D
There are so many great music poll blogs out there on tumblr that lets you know straight away what it is. This one was created specifically just about listening to unnamed songs. Because the other option would be to just post a youtube vid/spotify link but it wouldn't appeal to me to make a poll blog just like that. Reading peoples thoughts and opinions about the song whether they know it or not is what makes this even more fun to keep up with. :) (even when the opinions from some of you are WRONG! 🤣 lol j/k)
Spoiling the songs here in reblogs takes away the curiosity/surprise/whimsy people might have about an unmarked little clip (and they might already have negative or positive feels about the song so why not just a youtube vid right away)
And lastly I get so sad to see spoilers because of all the time spent to actually do these polls. This blog does take a lot of time to keep up with, more than some of you might think. And just with making the polls themselves, getting the audio if i don't already have it, listen through the songs I might dislike to get a good clip, try to post it as audio, get frustrated when tumblr won't let me, turn it into a video, upload the video.....and then see people name it straight away is just... 😐 so, yeah. i see people bitching about me bitching about spoilers, but if passing on a little whimsy gift to others isn't your thing, there are other music blogs. :) 💖
------------
Edited to add, from a reply to a later ask:
What totally is allowed, though? Anything that can be said about anything.
"This song is smooth" on a song titled "Smooth", because it's a valid description of any smooth song
"Yeah! I like/know this" on the song "Yeah!" because it's a valid opinion/reaction on any song
Re: lyrics (using #600 as an example)
What did you say? <- that works well as a comment for almost any song so it's allowed, but:
The hobbits the hobbits the hobbits <- obvious spoiler, not allowed
Singing along with the songs posted here spoils them = makes the blog concept and the time and effort i've put into the polls absolutely pointless. Using a specific word or sentence from the song that is generic enough to describe your opinions/thoughts on any song is fun and clever if done right!
Has the song been played in a movie/tv show, quotes are ok - unless the song was made specifically for the movie/tv show.
Memes/gifs: again with #600 as an example; all sort of memes/gifs that can be posted about any song is allowed. "I was there, Gandalf" can go for so many different things. Memes/gifs with Legolas saying "They're taking the hobbits to Isengard" are direct spoilers.

Inspired by a recent post about being polyjamorous/genrequeer, pick a song from a bad description!
Plot twist: all the descriptions come from people who hate the genre/artist in question. Because it's easy to talk about how you'll listen to anything when you're jamming out to black metal spirituals or Estonian funk from the 1970s. That shit makes you sound cool. It's the TaySwift that's harder to defend. The KPop. The Dimmu Borgir symphonics.
Regardless, defend them we shall. So pick your favorite beloathed artist/genre (defend in the comments or not as you choose), and then reblog the post. At the end of the week, I will make a playlist from the results of the poll, going from the option with the fewest defenders to the option with the most ardent fans. (I have a feeling it's going to be more cohesive than expected, but we'll see.)
If you would like to hear the playlist at the end, leave a comment or put something in the tags on the reblog, and I will tag you when the playlist is up.
And I'm tagging @penroseparticle-memorial right now, because Colton would've loved this concept, and it sucks that I wasn't really able to tackle it until now. But tackle it we must.
Anyway. See you in a week. Listen to something you love today.

Enhancing Video Accessibility

The Impact Of Audio Description: Enhancing Video Accessibility For Visually Impaired Viewers
How do people with visual impairments experience the world of movies and television? Have you ever considered what it’s like to watch a film without seeing the vibrant colors, intricate expressions, or stunning landscapes that make up the visual narrative? In this article, you will learn about the impact of audio description, and how enhancing video accessibility helps to people with visual impairment.
For many with visual impairments, this can lead to disconnection as they miss out on the crucial visual elements that bring a story to their life.
This is where the power of audio description steps in.
Audio description is a groundbreaking technology that provides a spoken narration of the visual elements in movies and TV shows.
It transforms the viewing experience, offering a rich, detailed verbal depiction for those with visual impairments to engage with the story.
It creates an inclusive experience about genuinely participating in the narrative, which is why it is necessary in today’s digital age. Ensuring content is accessible through audio description is a commitment to inclusivity and equality.
At ADA Site Compliance, we understand the critical importance of accessible content. Our team of experts is ready to help you ensure your videos meet the highest accessibility standards, including optimized audio descriptions. Let us work together to ensure your content reaches and resonates with all audiences.
What Is an Audio Description?
Audio description provides a spoken narration of visual elements in media, including movies, television shows, and live performances. This service helps blind or visually impaired individuals better understand and enjoy the content, enhancing their overall experience.
It vividly portrays actions, images, gestures, and settings, enabling visually impaired viewers to follow the flow of events, grasp the emotional character undertones, and appreciate the storyline nuances.
Besides, adding audio descriptions also benefits distracted viewers or viewers who find it difficult to focus on the film’s visual aspects. The additional narrative context and richness enhance the viewing experience for a broader audience, making it an indispensable tool for truly inclusive media.
Understanding the Types of Audio Description for Visual Media
Audio description comes in various forms, each tailored to different types of content and specific viewing needs.
1. Standard Audio Description
This is the most widely used format. It delivers concise narrations of key visual elements during natural pauses in dialogue. It ensures a seamless and uninterrupted viewing experience, allowing the narrative to flow smoothly without disrupting the content’s rhythm.
2. Extended Audio Description
Extended audio descriptions offer a more detailed description and narration for intricate visuals or fast-paced action. It goes beyond the basics, providing in-depth explanations of the setting, characters, and actions to give viewers a fuller understanding of the visual subtleties crucial to the storyline.
3. Internet and Interactive Media Audio Description
These descriptions make web pages and multimedia content accessible by covering visual elements such as images and graphics. They thus make digital content more inclusive for users who are blind or use screen readers or other assistive technologies.
They ensure fully accessible pre-recorded multimedia content by meeting essential accessibility standards like the W3C WCAG, Section 508, and EU regulations.
4. Live Audio Description
These descriptions are more in real-time settings like theater performances or live sports events, offering detailed costumes and scene changes or field actions. Like sports commentators, trained narrators describe actions on stage or the field, focusing more on visual details.
The live audio description brings immediacy and engagement to live events for those who might otherwise miss out on the visual aspects.
Each audio description type plays a vital role in making content accessible and enhancing the viewing experience for visually impaired audiences.
Six Advantages of Audio Description Services
By providing detailed explanations of visual elements, audio description ensures that everyone can fully engage with and appreciate the content. Accessibility for visually impaired individuals prevents their exclusion from films, television, and other visual media.
Here are some critical advantages of audio description accessibility:
Enhanced Accessibility: Audio description significantly expands the reach of your content, making it accessible to a large audience of visually impaired individuals.
Increased Versatility: Audio descriptions add flexibility to how your content is consumed. Audiences can enjoy your material by listening while multitasking.
Improved Language Acquisition: Audio description helps with language development in individuals with autism. Linking words with visual elements enhances vocabulary, comprehension, and overall language skills.
Better Understanding of Social Cues: Audio description helps individuals with autism better understand the emotional and social cues conveyed through facial expressions and body language.
Enhanced Auditory Learning: For many, auditory learning helps absorb the essential visual elements that may be unknowingly missed. Audio description enhances the auditory learning experience, making it easier to retain information and grasp complex topics.
Legal Compliance: In many cases, audio description is legally needed to ensure content accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Failing to comply with these accessibility standards can lead to costly legal repercussions.
By incorporating audio description into your web content accessibility guidelines, you improve accessibility and affirm your commitment to diversity and equal opportunity for all.
How to Create Audio Description?
Creating audio descriptions is a meticulous process, and following these five essential steps helps truly enhance accessibility:
Step 1: Conduct a Comprehensive Content Analysis of All Visual Elements
Begin by thoroughly reviewing your video and identifying all significant visual elements that require explanation. This includes actions, facial expressions, scene transitions, on-screen text, sound effects, and other components contributing to the story or understanding.
Step 2: Draft a Clear and Concise Script
The next step is to craft an easy-to-understand script with a video description of important visual elements. It should seamlessly blend with the existing audio track without technical jargon. Use the present tense to create audio descriptions while maintaining a sense of immediacy. Break down complex scenes into smaller, digestible segments, and keep the script engaging and informative.
Step 3: Record the Audio with the Help of a Professional Voice Artist
Engage a skilled voice artist experienced in audio description to record your script. Their clear and articulate delivery and descriptive narration in the desired pace, tone, and style enhance the listening experience.
Step 4: Edit and Synchronize the Audio Description As Appropriate
Carefully edit the recorded audio description to align with the video timing and fit into the pauses in dialogue and background sounds. Review the extended description script for inconsistencies, errors, or unclear sections and make necessary adjustments for a smooth and coherent flow.
Step 5: Conduct Rigorous Quality Assurance
Evaluate the final audio description to ensure clarity, accuracy, and effectiveness in conveying information. Seek feedback from visually impaired individuals or consult accessibility experts to identify potential issues or missing essential visual audio elements. Revise as needed to guarantee that the audio description meets the highest standards of quality and accessibility.
The Evolution of Audio Description Technology
With the rapid advancement of technology, audio description has seen significant progress, enhancing its effectiveness and reach. Modern tools, innovative software, and refined methods have revolutionized how audio descriptions are created and delivered.
These technological advancements are not just about convenience—they enable individuals with visual impairments to engage with and participate in society.
Essential Tools for Creating High-Quality Audio Descriptions
A meticulously crafted script is the foundation of effective audio description. Some tools offer robust scriptwriting capabilities, including automatic formatting, collaboration features, and version control. These capabilities are indispensable for creating precise and accurate scripts and critical for delivering a seamless and engaging audio description experience.
Once the script is ready, record and refine the audio using tools to capture audio recording, editing, and mastering audio. These applications ensure the final audio description is clear, professional, and fully immersive, enhancing the viewer’s experience.
Accurate transcription is another crucial component of high-quality audio description, and some tools offer fast and reliable transcription services. This allows creators to focus on producing high-quality audio descriptions without wasting time on manual transcription, ensuring that every detail of entertainment audio description is captured accurately.
Future of Audio Description and Accessibility
The future of audio description is promising and evolving rapidly. As technology advances, the quality and accessibility of audio-described content are set to reach new heights. Innovations in AI and machine learning are paving the way for more efficient and accurate creation of audio descriptions, making it easier than ever to ensure that content is accessible to all.
These advancements mean that audio description will become an even more integral part of media creation. However, technology alone is not enough to achieve true accessibility. Collaboration is key. For audio description to reach its full potential, content creators, accessibility experts, and the visually impaired community must work together.
By sharing knowledge, expertise, and experiences, we can drive innovation and make media more inclusive for everyone. This collaborative effort is essential in ensuring that the audio description meets the technical requirements and resonates with the audience it serves.
Audio description is vital to inclusivity, making video content accessible to everyone. It allows visually impaired individuals to engage fully with films and television, fostering a sense of belonging and participation.

Video description under the cut!
[VIDEO DESCRIPTION] The background is the ocean with crashing waves as dark clouds roll in from overhead. In the foreground we see a deep blue-green tricorne hat in profile, seated on an algae-covered rock decorated with seaweed, seashells, coral, and pearls. The ambient audio is crashing waves, a low strong wind, and tonal percussion played with mallets. The hat and its seaweed are being shifted and rippled in the strong wind blowing in clouds until the hat is finally off the rock and across the water, crossing from left to right. The hat is suddenly stopped by something offscreen despite the continued wind and the music, ambient noise sharply fades. There is a moment of silence before strong percussive drums creating a sense of excitement begin and we zoom out to reveal the hat was caught by a dragon with deep dark blue scales. But we only see their forelimb and what appears to be a cloak before the video windmill transitions to the Flight Rising logo that reveals the date Saturday June 8, 2024. Additional overlaid text reads Scheduled Maintenance 04:00-06:00 server time and Anniversary Event Begins 06:00 server time.

With artfight just around the corner, I finally gave Rachnid a fully-fleged reference sheet, so I thought I'd reintroduce him here!
Name: Dr. Arthur Rachnid
Age: Mid 40s
Pronouns: He/Him
Though he doesn't remember it, Rachnid first met Octavius on the operating table. After the scientist's paralyzing accident involving an unstable, rushed, reactor, Rachnid was the lead surgeon tasked by Osborn with saving Octavius's life, and permanently rendering Otto reliant on Norman's good graces. Despite the surgeon's meek pleas, Norman has Octavius fastened into a tentacled abomination of a life support harness. Rachnid's guilt at failing to stand up for his patient will haunt him.
Months pass. Arthur takes a new position at Oscorp as a chemical researcher, swearing to never take another patient. While studying the potential power of radioactive spiders venom, Rachnid is blinded and mutated in an explosion, leaving him with multiple vestigial eyes. Norman, fascinated, experiments on the scientist, rewiring his brain. However, the experiment has an unexpected side effect. Rachnid's mind is damaged beyond repair, stripping him of both his memories and personality. He deemed a failure and discarded by the company.
Osborn offers this latest “monster” to Octavius as a sort of company. There is nothing kind about the gesture, he’s merely curious to see how long it will take for the two to tear each-other apart. However, Octavius has other plans. Arthur once saved his life, gave him the mechanical apparatus he now possesses. Octavius would repay that favor, if Rachnid would only help him expose Norman Osborn for the monster he truly is.
Motives / morals: Loyal only to himself and his associate: Dr. Otto Octavius, he seeks to destroy Norman Osborn at any cost. Though mild-mannered, his lack of emotion leaves him incapable of true trust and connection, as well as capable of true cruelty without the slightest hesitation...or so he has been told.
Fun Facts: Blind without his pincers, relies on them for his "web-sense," an electro-magnetic field able to capture and interpret vibrations as "sight." Relies on audio description or 3-D projection in order to read. Writes using special paper with raised lines, allowing him to keep his words aligned.
[PS. Had a few folks request the template I created for their own marvel OCs so I've shared that below the cut! Feel free to tag me if you use it, I'd love to see your guys as well!]

#. FASHION PUT IT ALL ON ME !
featuring 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝘅 𝗳𝗲𝗺!𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 ıllı. takiishi chika, endo yamato
fluff + slight suggestive. everyone loves the designer, but the designer loves his model a little bit more than the others.

TAKIISHI CHIKA
Takiishi Chika was a name, that made everyone got goosebumps when mentioned. The mere thought of him, a figure whose influence loomed large over the fashion industry and as one of the creative masterminds behind 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊, where he shared the leadership with the flamboyant and public-facing Endo Yamato. While Endo played the role of the charismatic creator, Takiishi preferred to lurk in the shadows, and his critiques were final, his words absolute and whatever he decided, happened.
Through his distant approach, one thing was undeniable—his eye for design was flawless. And that’s how you, a new model, had caught his attention. You were still coming to terms with how you had become Takiishi’s assistant, but Endo often joked that you were more of his doll than a working partner. At first, it seemed purely professional with you being the one he called upon to wear designs he was unsure of, the ones that were about to be thrown out but once you put them on … they were suddenly the best-created piece of clothing. Somehow, you had a way of making the dresses he disliked, those dull and lifeless fabrics became art on your body. Effortlessly stunning as if they had always been meant for you.
You didn’t know why it worked, but every time Takiishi’s usual bored expression softened. He liked the design—no, he liked you in the design. It wasn’t long before he stopped looking elsewhere and was attached to your hip, he needed you and made sure that your schedule was the same as his. Thanks to Endo, though, you spent every day with the critique.
Tonight was no different, you were in his apartment, a space you had become more familiar with over time, even calling it your home on accident. You’d agreed to make dinner, something simple since it was your cheat day that Endo didn’t need to know about, but Takiishi never policed your diet and around him you felt you could be yourself, free from the pressure of the runway. He never expected anything from you other than just to stay by his side, just like now as you moved through his kitchen and hummed softly, occasionally glancing at him lounging on the couch, absorbed in his phone.
“Do you want the usual drink?” you asked, already knowing the answer. He usually stuck to the same thing, but tonight he didn’t respond. Normally, he would give a nod or a low murmur, and now there was nothing. Takiishi was a man of few words, but he always acknowledged you in some way. “Chika?” you called again, but still no response. He was so engrossed in something, so the curiosity got the best of you when you wiped your hands and crept behind him to see what had captured his attention.
It was TikTok of all things. Your heart stopped when you saw the video on his screen. It was an edit of you, a compilation of clips of your viral moment when you wore one of 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊’s most famous mini dresses. It was a rainbow-stripped piece that had practically broken the internet. You were trending everywhere, and now it seems you still do. You remembered the chaos of that day, the media went crazy so did your fans. But what caught you off guard was the used audio and the caption that was put in. A mash-up of “One Of The Girls x Good for You” and the post description was “CAN’T THEY DATE ALREADY?”.
Your heart skipped and cheeks flamed as you noticed something else—Takiishi had liked the video, he even saved it to his favorites. The music continued to play, almost teasing you as you stood behind him, watching the video of the two of you when the final clip showed him, holding your hand and leading you into a limo after the show. A moment that was a pure mess, at the time, but now you saw it differently.
He felt your presence behind him and turned his head slowly, catching you in the act of peeking at his screen. His golden eyes met yours, staring at your flushed face. Why were you blushing? The question was that he wanted to ask, though he didn't. The video kept playing, the lyrics of the song making their way to your brain—Let me show you how proud I am to be yours/Leave this dress a mess on the floor/Still look good for you, good for you, oh-oh.
You swallowed hard as the memory of that day appeared and how that dress indeed ended up on the floor of his bedroom. In Takiishi’s eyes, you always looked good, wrapped in the most expensive silk or wearing nothing at all. It didn’t matter as long he was the only one to see you, to hold and have you. His expression shifted, something hiding behind his calm facade. He felt like he wasn't being in his skin, something in his chest was making him uncomfortable and he was about to rip his heart. It was like he wasn’t in control of himself for once, and that unsettled him. Takiishi turned off his phone, but the echo of the lyrics lingered between you.
You smiled, feeling both vulnerable and proud because you knew that you belonged to him. You are proud to be his, even if you didn’t put a label on, it wasn’t necessary for what you had on. Both of you knew without voicing it or showing it to the rest of the world.
The dinner you’d spent the evening preparing was forgotten because what he craved wasn’t food—it was you and the taste of your love.
ENDO YAMATO
Endo Yamato was the embodiment and the definition of art. In every stitch, every fabric, every stroke of his pen, he transformed the materials into a well-painted canvas, and his dreams came true walking down runaways under the flashing rights. He was art himself. His name was synonymous with fashion because everything he touched became the next sensation. Top models fought to wear his work, to be scouted under 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊, but one model stood above the rest in his eyes.
The world knew you as the face of the 21st-century fashion scene, gracing the covers of magazines, appearing in music videos, and promoting the newest products, but to Endo, you were much more than that. You are his muse, the heart and soul of creations, his favorite girl. Whenever you wore his designs, it was as if the fabric became alive, elevated by your confidence and charisma, something no other model could replicate. And no matter how packed his schedule became—traveling to interviews, collaborating with brands, or organizing his shows—he always found time for you.
He remembered the day you chose him, how you could have signed with any fashion house you wanted, yet you chose him. It was a decision that left him awed and flattered beyond measure. The outfits he made for you, even before you joined, became best-selling clothes and still sold, in limited editions of course. You were already a rising star and the trust you put in him, he never took for granted. The others could wait, competing for his attention, writing him tons of emails, but you were already the sun in his galaxy; the brightest star of them all.
Today was no different with you in his private studio, wearing a dress he had been inspired to create when you mentioned how you would like to wear bold colors like red. The soft, red silk clung to your figure perfectly, and the asymmetrical design with the front of the dress is shorter, revealing the legs, while the back is longer, paired with black thigh-high boots, which contrast sharply giving you the edgy effect you wanted. His eyes traced every inch of the cloth, but more so, they lingered on you.
“Turn around, doll,” he said softly, as he measured once more, though he already knew the dress fit you like a second skin, it was just one of his excuses so he could physically be close to you. You turned, facing him fully, and your reflection in the mirror was a second bullet to his heart. Endo barely registered the fabric he tried to fix, it was you who captivated him.
In a few days, you’d be wearing this dress to one of the most prestigious fashion events of the season, an event he was invited to headline and though he was making sure every thread was in place, he wasn’t there just for the measurements and to play dress to impress. He called you saying how you had to do one last try on the garment...one of many last tries over the past few days. Of course, it was another excuse, and you didn’t mind at all.
“You look…” His voice trailed off, dreamlike, lost in his admiration for you. How could words even capture what he was? You weren’t just his best model—you were everything to him. The fashion world adored you and crowned you its new queen, but to him, you were simply you. The muse he took inspiration from, his most precious gem, the one who sewed up his heart hiding all the sharp things the string could be cut off.
Rumors had started swirling lately. People began noticing how much time you spent in his studio, how he’d rearrange his entire schedule for you. They whispered, speculating whether there was more between you than just designer and model. But neither of you spoke of it. This remained private, a secret to share when you feel ready to.
“Yamato…Are you okay?” you asked, concerned as he stared at you, eyes lingering for a little too long making you think there was something wrong. You had grown accustomed to his perfectionism, but something in his gaze told you that this wasn’t just about the dress. The way you said his first name made him melt that he could sew you a wedding dress right then and there. For a moment he forgot about the dress, the show, the world outside.
He set down the tape measure and scissors as he stepped closer, his fingers grazing the smooth fabric, tattooed skin gently caressing your exposed shoulder then his hands found their way around your waist. You stood tall on the small round podium, slightly towering over him and none of that mattered when you were in his embrace.
“I just can’t get enough of you,” he whispered, though his tone was quiet you heard everything, you felt everything, and his heart was beating so fast, just like yours. You can’t get enough of him either, as you wrap your arms around his shoulders. In his eyes, you weren’t just another model. You were the reason his creations had meaning. You were his one and only, and though the world might see it soon, for now, he was content to keep that secret between the two of you.

can you do headcanons for Lyric with a reader who blind but loves to read novels that Lyric makes despite being blind
I went down a rabbit hole about how blind people dream and imagine stuff for this, so I hope you enjoy it!
This man will reinvent braille for you if it is what you wish.
All jokes aside, Lyric loves how you've found your way into the literary world, no matter if you listen to audio books or read braille books.
He could spend hours listening to you describe what you "see" when enjoying a story. He'll hold you in his arms and just listen, helping you find the right words to describe your thoughts. If possible, he would get Artt to try and draw what you describe.
When he starts writing himself, you are his greatest inspiration.
You bounce ideas off of each other as though you were playing tennis. You'll lose yourselves in a whirlwind of brainstorming and outlining, time slipping away like sand through your fingers. But neither of you would believe it to be time wasted as a new world is created from your ideas.
Whenever you're too tired to continue, he'll help you to bed and place a kiss on your head, leaving behind the lingering scent of books and vanilla as he leaves you to rest.
The first night, he gets your story done. He runs it by the avid readers in the house, who give him helpful feedback. But if it is to be a world that was partially created by your mind, then he was going to make it perfect for you.
It's three days later when he arrives to you once more. He apologizes for being gone so long, but then presses what feels like a stack of paper into your hands. It doesn't take you long to find the indents where Lyric carefully punched in braille by hand, painstakingly slow and patient.
But if you ask him to read it out loud for you, you can feel the bright smile that finds itself on his face as he begins narrating your shared creation. Granted, he does go off topic a lot, making comments and noting part that he was extra passionate about. You had to remind him to return to the book when he went on a five minute tangent about how your idea to change the main character to a humanoid lizard sent him down a rabbit hole of human/humanoid lizard romance stories, something you were almost surprised existed.
But when you get to the climax of the story, there are descriptions of a world that could have only come from one who could not see it. A world of swirling words, of touch and sound and smells.
You will always be his greatest muse, and he will always be honored to create a world spun from your thoughts.
