Ask the Inter-Systemic Tulpar Crew!

Hello all! I've been debating how to begin this post, but I figure no time like the present! This account is a Muthwashing-related ask blog! The difference between this and other ask blogs that are Mouthwashing-related is that the answers will be provided by introjects of the characters from the game! This account currently is ran by 3 systems: The Treehouse Tavern System (myself), the Moonlight Nightshade System, and the Mystery Box System! From those systems, we have a Curly fictive (TT), Anya fictive (MN) and a Daisuke fictive (MB). What is a system, you might ask? In my own words, a system is a form of trauma response. When under heavy duress as a child, when the brain is still forming, the brain might find it simpler to attach a train of thought onto a different direction, making a new pseudo-personality to better handle certain situations! As this person grows, their stresses become more complex, and so new alters (or personalities, if you will) are made. In most cases, these alters may be mirror images of fictional characters that the person might have become attached to! These fictives/introjects may then have memories of what life was like before entering the system! This ask blog will allow people, as well as ourselves to discover what each fictive's world was like! I do hope we find ourselves some people that share a love for the game as we do, and remember that these alters are distinct people; inextricably connected to their source material, but not exactly like them!

Jimmy's birthday is apparently today??? (November 10th) We got a "happy birthday" mug and he was like "IT'S MY BIRTHDAY" but he's been sticking by it like it isn't a bit so idk lol- he says it is!

Jim and I met at some kind of space boot camp. I remember because the food there could barely be called edible, and yet he would eat that shit up like he was on Death Row. Everyone there thought he was really weird for it. Also he started choking on it one time (it was like. bread and melted cheese. so it stuck to his mouth lol) and I had to save him. And that's how we met!!

Jimmy's eyes are hazel. Kind of a muddy brown-green.

Anya's eyes are blue-grey.

Swansea's eyes were green.

"Remind me to NEVER ask you how to do that again." Swansea chuckled, ruffling his hair. "Ya did good kid, and ya did it quick so we've got nothin' for the rest of today."

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ The two continued their chat, a.. very tired Curly emerging from the cockpit and entering the lounge and heading to one of the vending machines... punching in the numbers for a coffee. Fuck his head was pounding, he'd barely slept a wink these past few days. He got the cup, sitting down at the lounge to enjoy it, listening to Daisuke and Swansea, whatever they were on about.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ He took a few drinks of the bitter liquid, it never did work to wake him up in times like this. Before he'd even noticed, he had eyes looking at him. Quickly apologizing. "Oh... sorry, am I in the way?" He asked, a soft smile playing on his face; Swansea glaring in concern. "When's the last time you slept?" Curly's face shifted, thinking. "Oh, I slept last night-" He was cut off, Swansea introjecting. "The full 5 hours the company allows you?" Curly sighed. "Well no- Jimmy had an issue in the cockpit so he woke me up-" Swansea pinched the bridge of his nose. "Look.. go get changed okay? You need sleep." With a sigh, Curly finished the coffee; tossing the cup in the trash before turning to do as Swansea has asked.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ While Curly was getting changed and everything of that sort, Daisuke had gone and got Anya.. The two deciding to play whatever dice game they deemed most fun, the two usually regressed when they played anyway; so Swansea just had to keep an eye on those two.. and hold curly till he fell asleep.. Easy, right..? Well, that's what he'd hoped so at least. Curly re-entered the lounge, plush in his arms; blanket over his shoulders and thumb in his mouth as he toddled over to Swansea, going into his lap as he curled as close as he could. "You okay buddy?" He felt a soft nod on his shoulder, just holding the blonde close as he played with Anya and Daisuke.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ After an hour or so, Swansea had laid Anya to bed, but .. Daisuke wanted to play! So he tugged on Curly's hair. Which earned a VERY loud whine, followed by the blonde fussing once he woke up. He was NOT pleased about being woken up; once Swansea had come back he saw the blonde in tears, he; swiftly came over. Within a few seconds Curly was up and in Swansea's arms .. which did settle him a bit, Daisuke sitting with his arms folded. "Daisuke, did you hit him?" He shook his head swiftly. "Nuh-uh! I just tugged his hair..! it's not naptime yet!!" Swansea sighed. "I know you wanna play with him buddy; but he's really little right now.. He's not gonna have the same naptimes you do buddy." He folded his arms, pouting.. Curly had thankfully dozed back off. So Swansea raised a proposal. "Yknow, he'll be awake if you take a nap?" The younger responded "Really???" With a soft nod, Swansea confirmed it. Daisuke curling into his other side and getting comfy. Eventually, with a bit of a chat; they both fell asleep.

I think it's cool that y'all run a blog together. As someone in a DID system myself with introjects/fictives as well, I was wondering if you'd be willing to share a little bit about how you both differ from the game's canon, or how you're the same. I always find that interesting, since for us, it usually feels like a homogeneous blend of both. Also, I like y'all's art!

I really like this question, because honestly I haven't thought about this super hard aside from looking at something from the game and saying “That's wrong.” to myself.

The game itself almost feels like a caricature of my own experiences, which I guess makes sense since it's a game and wouldn't have the time to cover everything. It feels like an exaggerated and almost theatrical recount of what happened in some aspects. Most of the conversations depicted I remember going differently, and the Tulpar itself was a bit different too- more lived in I suppose. Like, for example, those stupid fucking Polle posters Pony Express plasters everywhere were only on the wall for the pre-flight inspection and were otherwise replaced. We never left those ugly ass things up for a whole flight, we only put them up when we were leaving and when we were docking because those were the only times corporate was looking. (That stupid statue is too inconvenient to move though)

But you were asking about differences with us in particular, not the Tulpar or other stuff, and that answer is more complicated. Obviously I can't answer for Curly because our memories differ but it's hard to answer for myself too.

Appearance wise my hair is a little darker shade of brown, my skin is more tan too. I'm less lean, my eyes are a silvery color (I can't remember what they were in game though, so that might be the same) We don't see most of my skin but I have a few scars here and there, including one on my stomach from an emergency appendectomy (Ow.) it's hard to think of physical differences because you really don't see much from that one outfit.

I see a bigger difference in how they portrayed- or didn't portray- my mentality and emotions. Things were a lot more complicated. I'd go into it but my half of the answer is already super long.

I also like this question, and I think Jim got it down with the game/canon feeling like a caricature. It’s like adapting a book into an hour long movie, the events and characters are similar, but often times have less depth to them. If my memories were a book then that’s what it would be like.

The little bit of conversation and quips you get from canon-Curly I feel are pretty accurate to myself, and I look pretty similar too. I don’t think we get enough info on him pre-crash for me to say if I’m super different or anything— though if we’re going off of things the devs have said, I actually do like sweets. Whenever I eat out at a restaurant it’s almost a guaranteed I’ll order dessert and make whoever’s with me have some too, because life’s too short to not share a sweet treat with your friend after a nice dinner.

There’s also some differences between my injuries and medical junk post-crash, and in general a lot of stuff during that time was different. Jim was a lot more involved with my care than they portray too. Though my memory can only be so trusted from those couple months.
