Clockwork: “Why did you bring them here, Daniel?”

Danny: “I didn’t bring them. They followed me through a portal like lost ducks.”

John Constantine: “In my defense, I thought you were being possessed again.”

Danny: “I was LITERALLY holding a Dunkin’ bag and floating. That’s just me. That’s Tuesday.”

Batman: “This place violates every law of physics and at least four zoning bylaws.”

Fright Knight (materializing from the floor): “You violate my patience.”

Wonder Woman: “This realm... it’s alive.”

Danny: “Yeah, her name is Realmia. She likes boba and cosmic storms.”

Realmia (the actual Realms, vaguely embodied): blows a ghostly kiss and short-circuits three Bat-gadgets

Flash: “Can we talk about how the sky just blinked at me?”

Superman: “The sky has teeth.”

Danny (casually): “Yeah, don’t worry, they only bite time travelers.”

[The sky above them yawns open like a black hole with glittery teeth.]

Flash (Barry Allen): “...Wait.”

Danny: “Yeah?”

Flash:“I am a time traveler.”

Danny: “OH. That explains why the clouds keep growling at you.”

The Clouds: growl louder

Clockwork, sipping tea with visible amusement: “They’re merely curious. You're like a chew toy made of paradoxes.”

Flash (panicking): “I CAN FIX THIS. I CAN FIX—”

Danny: “No, Barry, this is not a ‘run really fast and mess up the timeline’ moment.”

Flash: “EVERY moment is that moment!”

Batman: “Allen, do not run. You will trigger a Realm storm.”

Flash: “What’s a Realm storm?”

The sky above them screams. Loudly. In Morse code.

Danny: “...Oh. That means ‘hi’ and ‘bite.’ It’s kinda both.”

Clockwork, sipping tea with a thousand-yard stare: “It’s been a long week.”

I would've loved an episode in which Danny and Dash switch bodies.

I imagine it happens because Dash is talking to Kwan about how cool Phantom is or something, and at some point he says "Man, I wish I was Danny Phantom!"

Of course Desiree hears this, she appears before him ("So you have wished it, so shall it be!"), and the next day Dash wakes up in Danny's body. Danny Fenton's body. In Danny's room.

At this point he's pretty familiar with Desiree, and he assumes she just heard him wrong, befause Fenton and Phantom do sound alike. ("Huh, how weird! How has no one noticed this before?" We hear Wes screaming in the distance as Dash makes this observation.)

But there is no way in hell that a puny little nerd like Fenton could be Dash's hero, so something must've gone wrong. He decides to find Desiree and correct his wish.

Meanwhile, Danny (to his horror) wakes up in Dash's body.

He assumes he overshadowed him for some reason, but when he tries to leave, he finds out he doesn't have his powers. He also doesn't feel Dash's presence in the body.

"I know i asked for a growth spurt, but not like this!"

This isn't good.

Dash makes his way downstairs, and is immediately greeted by Jack Fenton, who has a million chores for him.

"Come on, Danno! Those ghosts I fished out of the ghost zone with the Fenton Ghost Fisher™️ aren't gonna put themselves back!"

Before he can object he is pushed into the lab and has to fight a couple of ectopusses. This goes very badly at first, until Dash remembers the bit of ghost hunting training Danny gave him and his classmates, when they had to rescue their parents from that big pirate ship.

As soon as he's done, exhausted on the floor (Damn, Fenton really needs to work out more!), he hears Jack yelling down the stairs.

"Son, don't forget to change the ecto filtrator! You don't want Amity Park to blow up, do ya?"

More dangerous chores keep getting added for longer than Dash thought was humanly possible.

(At some point Jack gave him some fudge, which helped.)

How does Fenton live like this???

We switch back over to Danny, who is now looking around Dash's room. He already knew about the cute pink teddy bear collection, but he didn't expect to find what can only be described as a fan shrine to Phantom.

There are newspaper articles, pictures, merch ("Wait I have merch? How come i didn't know that? Who is selling Phantom merch?" it's Tucker), and a poster.

(the b-story of this episode is Sam & Tucker running a Phantom merch line, and trying to stop the Box Ghost from stealing all the boxes of merch.)

Danny keeps looking around Dash's room, and finding out more about him through his stuff.

At some point he finds Dash's diary. He contemplates if he should read it or not, but in the end he decides that since Dash is always such a jerk to him, he doesn't care about morals and reads it.

Reading the diary, Danny starts to feel kinda bad, because in the entries Dash actually seems human. He's insecure, and he actually struggles with a lot. He's afraid to talk about what he's going through.

His parents are very absent, and the A-listers kicked Valerie out when her life wasn't perfect anymore. He doesn't want that to happen to him.

(I personally headcanon Dash as an extremely closeted gay guy with a lot of internalised homophobia, who hasn't stopped trying to convince himself that he's straight, but his struggles could be about anything.)

After reading all that, Danny starts to feel kinda bad for him.

Over the course of the day ghosts keep showing up to fight or talk to Fenton, and Dash is incredibly confused by this. Also Danny must have a weird cold or something, because he's been exhaling cold air at random all day.

"I AM THE BOX GHO- Hey! Wait! Why are you running away? You never run away. You always trap me in your cylindrical contraption of doOoOoOm!" (The Box Ghost is wearing a Phantom t-shirt, and is holding a box full of other Phantom merch. After Dash runs away, Sam and Tucker appear, chasing the Box Ghost through the street, trying to get the merch back.)

Later Johnny 13 shows up to fight, because he and Kitty broke up for the 4th time this week, and he wants to let out some steam. "Shouldn't you change for our fight, kid?" Change into what? Wait he wanted to fight, right? Dash puts on his gym uniform, and boxing gloves. Johnny looks at him weird, but doesn't question it. They have a little boxing match in the backyard.

Youngblood came by to play astronauts with him, and was very disappointed that Danny didn't fly up to space with him. (Wait didn't that dead kid kidnap Dash's parents??! Also why in the hell does he think Fenton has the ability to fly?????!! And breathe(!) in space?!!!)

After finishing what seems like a billion ghost related chores (and dealing with way too many ghosts), Dash finally manages to get out of the Fenton house, and starts to look for Desiree.

Danny walks out of Dash's room, and runs into Dash's dad. He opens his mouth, but he doesn't seem to care about what he's going to say. "Son I am so incredibly disappointed in you." the dad starts, then continues to list all the reasons he is a huge disappointment who should try harder. "Those weird little bears in your closet!" and "Why don't you have a girlfriend yet?"

The whole interaction is horrible, and makes Danny appreciate his own parents (weird as they may be) so much.

Dash's mom also berates him about being a disappointment, because they found his Phantom collection ("He is a GHOST, Dash! He's dangerous!"), and because his grades are so low. ("What do you mean tutor? Just study harder!")

They threaten to take Pookie away if he doesn't get his shit together.

At some point Danny has deduced that this body situation must be some ghost bullshit, and he decides to go to Fentonworks.

Then he runs into Dash in his body, and they have a little spiderman moment

After the internal shock and "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN MY BODY GET OUT!"s have gone around, Dash tells Danny what happened.

Danny informs Dash that most of Desiree's wishes become permanent after 24 hours. They decide to team up to get Desiree to undo this wish before that happens.

It's noted that Dash didn't say the word "puny" or any other insult, when he says "I really don't wanna stay in your body.".

We see a compilation of Danny and Dash searching Amity Park for Desiree, and other wishes she has granted. They fight off a couple of small ghost things together.

(during this compilation we see Sam and Tucker chasing the Box Ghost around. "How is he this hard to catch?? We've done this millions of times already!!!" -"Well maybe if you didn't drop the fucking thermos!")

After the fight, Dash sighs and says "Man, I had no idea how difficult your life is, Fenton. I've only been living it a day and it sucks."

they have a little heart to heart, and Dash sincerely apologises for bullying Danny so much.

"why did you want to be Phantom anyway? I assume his life isn't that easy either." Danny says.

"I dunno, man. I just thought it would be cool to be, y'know, going ghost."

White rings appear around Dash. He turns into Phantom.

they have another moment like this:

"WHAT THE FUCK!"

"WHAT THE FUCK!"

"I"M- I- YOU- YOU'RE PHANTOM??!!!"

"NO! YES! NO TIME! FIGHT HER!!!"

Because of course, this is the moment that Desiree appears, and starts fighting them.

"I dont know how!!!"

The beginning of the fight is very awkward, with Dash not knowing how Danny's powers work, and Danny not being used to fighting Desiree without his powers.

Eventually they get the hang of it, with Danny telling Dash how to activate and use certain powers in the moment, and they defeat Desiree.

All the wishes get undone, and they suck her up into a thermos.

After that, they talk about Danny being Phantom. Danny tells Dash the story of how he died got his powers, and Dash shares some of his secrets with Danny so they're "even". (it's some stuff that wasn't in Dash's diary. Danny doesn't mention that he read that, but that can be conflict in a later episode)

They aren't friends yet, but it's a start. Now that he walked a mile in Danny's shoes, Dash feels so bad about bullying him all those years, and he starts to question his life choices. (start of a Dash redemption arc i guess). He promises to stop bullying in general, and help out Danny however he can. (He also promises to not tell anyone about Danny's secret identity.)

(The episode ends with Sam and Tucker, having finally caught the Box Ghost, only to realise that in the chase/fight all the merch got way too messed up to sell, so it was all for nothing. Tucker throws the thermos down in frustration, the Box Ghost gets free, grabs the Phantom shirt he wore earlier, yells "BEWARE!" and flies off. Sam sighs and gets ready to start chasing him again, but Tucker stops her. "I give up. Let him have the fucking shirt.")

A King Protects~ A DP crossover prompt

Wrote originally for an MHA crossover but can be used for other stuff - I apologize I wrote it at 3am, I did edit it in the morning (after waking up)

Over done but I love it. A cult broadcasting the summoning of their god who is a god amongst gods! This is a momentous occasion that the world should witness ofc so they broadcast it. In comes Danny in his Depression Sleep Wear™️ that he hasn’t changed out of in 3 days. “Duck off, I’m dead so let me sleep.” The cult starts with their monologues mean while Danny groans and starts to clean himself off. Summons a toothbrush and toothpaste. Summons a glass of water, rises and spits. The cult starts to trail off when he goes on with his routine. He uses spray deodorant and dry hair shampoo and finally summons and bowl and wash cloth to clean his face. For the last step the cult is completely quiet. When Danny’s done he snaps his fingers and suddenly he’s in his king regalia and looks the part of “The King of the Infinite” instead of a bed rotting teenage boy. 

He looks around and sees that they thankfully didn’t use sacrifices and, from the lack of death in the air, they used their own blood to draw the circle, so hopefully talking will help them calm down and they won’t escalate in the future. He lifts an eyebrow and the cult falls to his feet and starts with their speech again, going on and asking for immortality to forever serve him. Danny: “Ahhh, so that’s what this is about. Look, true and honest immortality is impossible. Even I’m not immortal! I can live to see the birth and death of a universe without skipping through the timeline, more than once, and still not be truly immortal. What your asking for is impossible and a curse you will eventually want me to lift, so not actual immortality if I can lift it. A friend of mine would say, ‘all is as it should be’, so if you don’t naturally become immortal, in your sense of the word, that path is not meant for you. Immortality in MY sense is very different and you're lucky I don’t don’t do malicious compliance for these things.” 

Heros bust into the scene, Danny defends the cultists. He starts saying that no sacrifices were involved and that unless some of the blood wasn’t acquired consensually or one of them had an active arrest warrant they shouldn’t be arrested. “Would you arrest little girls at a sleepover using a Ouiji board?” Heroes say that at the very least they broke into a warehouse and hacked into a broadcasting station

The cultists are arrested for taking over broadcasting channels and squatting at an abandoned warehouse. Danny makes sure the sentencing is fair and is acting like a lawyer for his summoners. This is a Danny who got the anti-ecto acts repealed, made sure it didn’t happen world wide, then went on to study law and politics in preparation to be king. Because the Heroes say what the cultists are being arrested for he finally realized he’s being broadcasted, asked where the camera is and turns to it.

Danny: “People of this world, ‘I am very small, and I have no money (law school was expensive) so you can imagine the stress I’m under’. You probably won’t understand the reference so understand this. Please don’t summon me, and if you have to, do it because you are in true danger. I’m a protector spirit. And Ancients please don’t use live OR DEAD sacrifices in my name.” And with that Danny opens up a portal and leaves but not before telling the officers and pros that he’ll check in on the cult members to see if they receive fair sentences or he’ll match their energy in the afterlife.

And that is how a new religion is created. The broadcast goes viral and alters are made for him. Many heroes [and hero students] pray to him even though Danny can’t receive prayers. King Phantom's summons spreads and just like he asked, he’s only summoned in emergencies. 

~Now on to MHA stuff~

Hosu City being on fire is an emergency. Danny takes care of Stain and the Nomu. This pisses off the HPSC. They look bad and start labeling Phantom as a vigilante. The people (and most Heros) call bs and it just makes them [HPSC] look worse. 

Eventually it comes to the HPSC summoning him to try and arrest him. Danny looks them in the face. Gets a pillow and blanket and starts to sleep in the middle of the air. The HPSC try everything to try and wake him up or move him into a jail cell but they can’t touch him, his blanket or his pillow. Eventually they just build a cage around him. Danny wakes up 24 hours later. Yawns and phases out of the “cage” and heads to the closest gym to take a proper shower this time, invisibly of course. To piss off the HPSC, he drops the invisibility in the middle of a street cameras view and decides to wander around and do some exploring. Que him ending up in a residential area with what looks like expensive houses. This is how he runs into Eri’s rescue mission. He overhears the situation and decides to help out, he doesn’t interfere until he blocks Mirio about to get hit with the quirk erasing bullet. Danny asks how Overhaul could do this to his own daughter. “Wait- did you adopt her?! There’s no blood relation between the two of you! That’s fucked up man. Give me the name of the agency, Ima sue. Your name was Eri right? You’ve been blessed with some form of time manipulation if I’m sensing it correctly. I can practically taste it off of you, I know someone who can help to control it!”

Danny helps save Eri and he helps with her recovery since her quirk doesn’t work on him thanks to the time medallion practically fused to his core. 

Danny asks if the government actually wants to arrest him and if it was just a prank cause he will pull out the diplomatic immunity card considering he IS a king. Eventually, the HPSC gives up, gives him a hero license, and lets him take Eri for lessons with CW, but she’s still in Eraserhead's custody since he’s not old enough. “Have I mentioned I am a father-mother of two?” “Excuse me? I thought you said that you were chronological 17!?” “I am! What does that have to do with anything?” His kids, of course, include a girl who looks like a slightly younger him with just a little too much manic in her eyes and a demon-looking man who is twice the boy's size and built like a tank. Aizawa sees them appear at the lanky boy's side as if the very mention of them was enough to summon them. “I’m not paid enough for what I do.”

Wait- did we cross-over again?

Idea rant time:

So Danny Phantom (Fenton depending on how much you know about him) has been traveling after (Mm let me pick a card) “Reveal Gone Wrong™️”! Let sprinkle that with a lil “Can’t Return/ Nothing to Return to” and we have a decent base for a fic.

Now comes my Idea

So here he is, in the R&D labs of Stark Tower after fully completing the plot with one Peter Parker (Spiderman to those who know him about him) and one Shuri, Crown Princess of Wakanda. And these three have already done their bit, payed their dues to the plot gods, when for some reason:

A) Danny’s lil side project malfunctions and opens a portal

B) Villain of the week opens a portal

C) Clockwork decides he needs a new plot point for his favorite soap opera

D) Danny is summoned and PANIC

E) Something else

And where does our hero(es) end up? Gotham, DCU! Which results in in two options!

I) Just Danny, goes with Alley street urchin route (most plausible ending being adoption, might stay)

II) Danny + Peter, dispute the intelligence between them, they go pizza delivery boy route (might be adopted, will be building tech, prob should work on getting home, Mr. Stark will worry. High chance of underground fighting)

III) Team Nirvana (Danny, Peter, & Shuri [GO READ The Ghost of Heroes!!!] And Shuri tells the boys that the pizza delivery plan is low-key dumb (honestly she might go with it but doubt it) and instead they’d get a proper set-up going and find the quickest way to make money is:

a) Undergound fights (Danny, Peter! Why is that your first though?!)

b) Sell tech (Profit↗️)

c) Get adopted(?? P: How will that make money? S: Have you seen yourself and Danny? Perfect adoption bait.)

Goodness this is turning out to be a build-your-own-adventure! But anyways, the plot depends on the options chosen,

(ex: B, II, a - Objective is cash, need to find an in to the underground for fight info and where they can register to participate)

(ex2: D, I- prob just needs to quickly deal with issue (1 Cult summoned [effete and find JLD to go home], 2 John Constantine summoned [likely needs help defeating x threat], and find a way home)

you could pretty much do anything with it (I know I said a lot of different ideas here, I’ve never seen a cross over like this, and I can see why [so many characters!!] but tbh it’d be fun [also Tim Drake + Team Nirvana + Everlasting Trio is a shit show waiting to happen)

I’m not sure who to share this with either (if you play with these ideas plz tag me– I want to see it!!!!!) but I might tag some ppl I’ve seen around the fandoms.

I'm going to use the definition of "trope" pretty liberally here, but it's a toss up between an Outsider POV and an Identity Reveal. I looooove playing around with how all the wacky shenanigans of canon look from a Very Normal Person's™️ perspective, especially in the wild world of Danny Phantom, because it's just SO FUNNY. And I am just trash for Character finding out that Other Character has a secret identity. Revealing that Vlad or Danny is a ghost to literally anyone is basically my favorite part of writing a fic.

I HAVE written both! My No One Knows College AU longfic, Overshadowed, was basically just an excuse to reveal Danny's identity to everyone all over again, and I've done a couple Outsider POVs but my intern working at Vlad Co. One, Everything's Fine (and the Boss is Totally Not a Cryptid), was my favorite haha!

I can’t imagine that, even with everything, he wouldn’t reach out to his friends and sister at some point, even if only to reassure them that he was fine and very happy with his new life (Danny may be Done™️ but he’s not malicious, and at the end of the day he loves those who supported him even when no one else would.)

Still, Jazz would likely understand (to some extent) even if she insists on pulling a page from “My Side of the Mountain” and moving out to be with him (try stopping her, she raised that kid since she was six and that’s not gonna change just because he’s decided to finally start prioritizing his own wellbeing).

Sam would most likely be mad at him for deserting them and would probably break off any semblance of a friendship on those grounds (she was literally ready to kill him in order to keep Phantom going).

Tuck would be more understanding but would struggle to really get it and thus be kinda distant for a while. Eventually his parents decide to take him to Gotham for a visit and seeing just how much happier and more full of life Danny is would likely be a turning point for him.

Danny, burnout and exhausted of being the basically only one who can fight ghosts but still gets villainized and hated by the people he saved, decides he's done.

Because he's 14 he runs to another city, one where his parents and GIW cannot willy dilly do whatever they want. Yes, he runs to Gotham. Without telling anyone.

At Gotham, he ultilizes his intelligence in making fake ID and studies at a normal if a bit run down Gotham high school, not the fancy one where Tim or Damian is studying because 1) he's trying to lay low and 2) he hates the rich. He uses an old abadoned fire station as his home.

It's all fine and dandy. He doesn't need to intervene much since there are plenty of vigilantes in this city and he's free to just...focus. On himself, his education.

Meanwhile, Amity Park is literally and metaphorically under fire with his absence.

I had a Wild™️ dream last night.

So the premise was that Dash finds out that Danny was Phantom, and this led to the GIW arresting them for harboring an ecto-entity. They had also done that to a not insignificant portion of Amity Park’s populace, including Jazz and the Fenton parents. Prison AU, and also they’re cellmates. So naturally they start staging a jailbreak.

They act sus and the guards get onto them and interrogate them. Dash panics.

Dash: “I’m Danny’s prison bitch!”

Guard, skeptically: “That little twink?”

Dash: “Well you try fighting a ghooooooo- VAMPIRE!”

Danny bares his fangs and hisses.

Nailed it.

So now it’s a Fake Relationship AU.

So meanwhile the Scooby Gang are investigating the weirdly high crime rate and rumors of ghosts. They investigate Fentonworks and find the portal, which has been shut off. Scooby turns it on and becomes a halfa and his ghost form is a Dalmatian.

Obviously the Anti-Ecto Acts are unjust, so they hatch a plan to get them overturned. Fred, Daphne and Shaggy drive off and unfortunately I woke up before I could figure out what their plan was. Velma and Scooby stay behind to pose as corrections officers. Yes, that includes Scooby getting dressed in human clothes and walking around on his hind legs and trying to talking. And he’s also a new halfa so he keeps falling through things. Why they thought this was a good idea is anyone��s guess. Somehow nobody notices anything is strange. Even Sam, who is also posing as a corrections officer, thinks it’s a great thing for animal rights for a dog to become a full corrections officer, and doesn’t question it.

some more thoughts because I COMPLETELY agree with you and your list:

• if they expanded into kwan's character a little like they did with seamus in 3below i think that would have been awesome

• danny and jim are FAR from being the same character but they both have a strange knack for awful jokes mid-battle

•vlad might be written far worse than strickler but they're almost the same character wtf

•honestly if they animated dp the way they animated trollhunters i would give them all my money

•my favorite thing about trollhunters that dp lacked was the flawless character development. I'd give anything to see that done well in danny phantom.
