My Headcanons for Delphi is that at first learning about her father was a shock. She struggle with shame and guilt. Questioning her own sense of morality and worth. But over time, with postive attention from Rodolphus, a welcoming nature she never had before; Delphi began to gaslight herself into explaining away Voldemort's behavior. It was easier the more she let herself stew in misery and resentment.

Pretending that she could have had a good life if it wasn't for Harry. Or those who fought against The Dark Lord. While deep down she knew that likely wouldn't be true.

Resentment of her own upbringing and her challanges with making connections lead to extreme behaviors. It lead to criminal activies which got easier the more she let her anger drive her. Finding she had a natural talent for certain forms of magic. For the art of presusasion. Finding her self esteem growing with how she could steal, lie, and deal with dark beings.

By the end murder was little more then a duty to her cause. She didn't feel anything but a drive.

Did Voldemort and Bellatrix plan Delphini ?

I am about 80% sure that Delphini was unplanned , and here is why :

1. I don’t think that Bellatrix was mom material . I mean if she wanted children she would have had them , though that isn’t really a strong point because she maybe just wanted kids with Voldemort and not Rodolphus . The thing is , I feel like during her service as a death eater , she had little time to think about creating a family , and taking care of children . That is actually one of the reasons why women wouldn’t become Death Eaters . All of Voldemort’s followers are Pureblood , and all Purebloods ( mostly at least ) , are with “the old lifestyle “.

2. Lord Voldemort didn’t like children . In the chapter in Deathly Hallows , where we go back to 31st October , 1981 , he says he hated children when a kid comes up to him , to tell him how much he liked Voldemort’s “costume”.

3. Voldemort didn’t need an heir momentarily .

The dark lord didn’t know about the fact that his Horcruxes were getting destroyed , which means that he was sure , he would live for a VERY long time . According to Google , she was born early March 1998 , so if my calculations are correct she was conceived in June of 1997 (god , this is so crazy) , which means that Harry hadn’t even begun destroying Horcruxes just yet (Oh and it was probably sometime before or after Dumbledore’s death so yeah , thought of traumatizing you as well.. )

But there are some reasons that make me believe that she was planned (though not strong) ;

1. In the chapter where Narcissa and Bellatrix go to Snape’s house , she accuses Snape of not being loyal, and tells him how she thinks that he had many opportunities to kill the boy , but he didn’t and blah , blah . Snape answers with : “Why haven’t you said these to the Dark Lord himself” , and Bella says (well not really , but practically) , that they aren’t on speaking terms . So , what if she suggested for them to have a kid , and he just didn’t want to , which led to them not speaking .

2. Voldemort was terrified of death , so what if he started to grow tired and realized that he would have to die at one point , which means that he would need to continue his legacy somehow . Of course the most obvious answer would be have a baby , and raise it right , and who else would he have a child with beside Bella of course .

Something that might support this theory somehow , is a scene in “The Cursed Child” , in which Albus and Scorpius travel to a universe where Voldemort is in full power , and Delphini is minister . This makes sense because, during the second war , Voldemort had to imperio someone to have as a minister , because he didn’t trust anyone enough . But his daughter on the other hand , he had raised himself , and he could trust (somehow) .

3. Point three , and in my opinion the most obvious one , how could two powerful wizards , fail to protect themselves during sex .

Now nothing is for sure ,I personally, feel like her being unplanned makes more sense , but that point three about her being planned , really shuts my mouth .

hhmmmm i havent thought about it, maybe we can come up with something! i love having little easter eggs that relate to something in canon. idk if hogwarts would be too on the nose HAHSAHA but i mean. it is an old, big house that kinda looks like a castle...... sjfds idk i'd love to brainstorm with u. and yes mil you read my mind. that's what i thought too regarding the friendship roles/gang composition. though i think it's fun to mix the backgrounds/family situations/relations to the treasure around a bit. i'd want lily to be the book smart one, the one with the scholarship opportunity and also i think i'd want her to be the one related to denmark tanny (or whatever the name will be in the au). but i want her to have had the kook year that kiara had, lily alone in the nest of the snakes. and possible give her something close to jj's family situation. or like, an apathetic parent perhaps. remus can have the poor but loving family that pope has, with lyall and hope<3 i dunno what else he has going on besides that for now, possible something disability wise? terminal illness.....the gears r turning. sirius is a mix and match again. in this au both sirius and regulus are orphans, lets say their parents died when they were pretty small, then it was their grandparents and at last alphard but it didnt take long then for regulus to get swooped up by tom (i'll get to that in a minute.) so sirius is living with alphard and he kind of has the relationship with him that kie has with her parents, sorta abusing his position in a relatively wealthy home and using up all of his resources for his family, his friends (here his inner jj swings with as well, he's so boundlessly loyal). now coming to reg. riddle is a big shot kook obviously, filthy rich but from rags to riches type beat like ward. and his thing is that every like 5 to 10 years he adopts kids and like sponsors them sort of? like a sick twisted version of carlyall from twilight. i'd imagine maybe he started out with an ophaned niece and nephew or maybe or distant cousins and then just. kept going because he craved the company and liked playing the role. sometimes it's more but mostly he adopts two at a time, a boy and a girl. cue, barty and regulus as rafe and sarah versions. now what i'm about to say next is a bit fucked up so feel free to dip jdhgks. when they're 14/15 barty and and reg have this weird little pseudo incest thing going on where they're dating sort of. or not directly in a romantic and sexual sense but it's wildly different from regular platonic and familial. and it's all a bit bananas since they have the same father figure yknow. so they live with riddle, they have dorms at his estate. but evan is also sort of in the picture. (kind of filling the spot where the topper character leaves a whole). and evan is,, idk probably in love with both of them. which is, again, twisted and weird and bananas. since theyre. adoptive siblings on paper. skjgjsd anywho! i'm still not sure what to do about wheaze and rose. i considered bellatrix and delphini (that affair child bella had with tom) but i could never make her barty's adoptive mom. she'd just encourage his psycho ass and then the plot would crumble in over my head. at this point i also wanna take whoever is reading this by the cheeks, look u deep in the eyes and remind you of the little rafe x kie (bartylily) crumbs we'd get when exploring the s3 plotline :3 oh! oh!! also dorcas as cleo. hot sexy badass, french/jamaican accent having goddess of a young women that lily pathetically immediately falls for. it's just a big ol' OH moment where lily is like. yo i'm into girls?!?!!!!! i've pondered for a long minute what to do with the pope x kie romance plotline and i think i'd wanna make it a mutual comphet thing. remus is pissed at sirius for rejecting him after they have an almost kiss after dancing around each other for so long and then lily is there so he takes the out.

and sirius can't say shit because he's the one that bailed on remus, so remus lets him suffer (and also punishes himself for advancing on him in the first place). and for lily it's just that it takes her a minute to understand that the reason she can't choose between her boys is not that she's an indecisive slut but that she really does love her boys all the same amount, just not in a romantic way. cue dorcas strutting in with her knife wielding skill and her criminally sexy little belly button piercing and her braids and. yeah,,,,.

i'm also thinking latino james possibly, lily being mixed ghanaian (1) (2) (3), cambodian black siblings, and remus can be the token causasian lmao. barty as well and evan will always be some kind of blasian to me.

okay before i come to an end i wanna talk about trans fem reg for a second though. i've been browsing the net and reading about mtf transitioning a bit to portay regulus accurately and give a good enough representation. in my mind regulus, in this au, noticed that she's different pretty early on. and what with having sirius and it being a very modern, 21 century au, her transition began rather early. medically it's typically recommended to start with testo-blockers around 15 and added estrogen at 16. and that's exactly what regulus does. like always, when taking hormones there's gonna be some side effects, unfortunately. thrombosis risk increases, your libido decreases and you're probably gonna be tired and exhausted a lot and also more emotional and sensitive, have a shorter fuse. regulus does a lot of biking and swimming in her free time against the thrombosis, preferably in their long pool at the riddle estate but when she's feeling good enough about her body she does like to take out the boat with barty and evan and beat them in a swimming race. she's nap queen, she's sleeping everywhere, all the time and when her and james start getting together he calls her sleepyhead all the time and in the most affectionate tone and it sorta just keeps being the main pet name he has for her. also the low libido/possible body dismorphia go very hand in hand with the sarah arc where she's unsure about having sex for the first time. all in all regulus is pretty snappy and thin skinned, emotinal. but it makes her passionate and compassionate especially, which james loves and adores. all of it. yknow how in s2 sarah and john b stay at that hotel and jb steals the phone. i want james to overhear a pair of older-ish women complain about menopause and their pills and then break into their room when they're away for dinner and steal regulus some estrogen pills. it's probably not the right dosage and reg can't take them but!!!!!!!!!!!! it's the thought that counts and to regulus that counts A LOT.

“Gods, mum! You might’ve even had more clothes than me!” Delphini exclaims, eyes wide as she takes in the different colors and textures of her mother’s teenage wardrobe. The entire closet smells a bit stale, as though the air hadn’t been breathed in years. It likely hadn’t. 

Delphini used to explore her mother’s old rooms regularly when she was small and the witch in question was locked away from them. Unfortunately, Bella's closet had been spelled to remain locked - Cygnus always joked that it was likely because the sisters were notorious for stealing clothes from one another. As though they didn’t each have enough of their own, tailored to perfection. No matter how relentlessly Delphini had tried she’d never been able to manage the counterspell. Turns out just a bit of blood would’ve done the trick this entire time. 

The younger witch smiles as a piece in dark navy catches her eye. It has a deep plunge, nearly down to the waistline where it is synched with an elegant silver bow, sterling shimmers are speckled down the silhouette of the dress and a few up the scandalous bodice. They gleam like stars in the sky, glistening as she turns the fabric. 

“What in Salazar’s name was this for?” 

She's sipping wine as she feels the sheer raw silk of a silver dress beneath inked fingers. "You know, I truly believe it was only by Cersi's grace your grandmother lived as long as she did. I must've tried to kill her at least fifty times with my clothing choices. This... was Abraxas' New Years party," she said, "he threw a rather good one. Father's were better though - there was always muggle hunting involved. The next day in their papers their deaths would be blamed on the muggles drinking too much, ha! Anyhow, everyone wanted to dance with me - can you blame them, really? - but I only let one person take me to the floor. . ." What is more, there are problems with the job certificate of my previous GOD FORSAKEN HIGH SCHOOL JOB that I need to sort out, and therefore my current certificate is fucked up too. Even in a different town infested with - allegedly, of course - aliens, Baltazar's grandparents from outer space can find him with no problems at all. You have to always be ready for an abduction!! No surprises, considering Bal plans to mate with his own kind. I'm sure they're excited to see the bloodline going in this direction, though the plan won't come to fruition just yet. For now, enjoy Bal and Pearl on a cute date in Sulani where they both stuff their faces with grilled bananas. They also visited Del Sol Valley to marvel at the Celebrity Tiles. I put my Harry Potter muses, but since I just have two, I also added some OCs or canon muses with a HP verse, or that would work within the universe. I picked pairs that I thought could be fun to explore! Salomé Blake is a Slytherin, so I figured she could work well with Lucius. The Horned One is an Elder God, so he can go wherever he wants, and I think throwing him at Delphini would be interesting. Clarice Starling is a Gryffindor, so she could easily interact with Ginny. Same for Cassandra, who's a Gryffindor (and Mina is a Ravenclaw). Violet Baudelaire is also a Gryffindor, and she loves building and inventing things. I think she could get along with your Hermione! Olive Bennet would be a hufflepuff, and I'm a sucker for a slytherin/hufflepuff friendship, so I picked the pair with Daphne. And of course, I put HP muses' pairs that I think work without too much explanation ahaha. Sorry Hermione and Daphne, I'm throwing you at my Voldemort lol

Holy shit I just realized something. Delphini, Voldemort’s daughter? She would have been in the same year as the silver trio (Daniel, Ivy, and the MC). IMAGINE IF SHE DID GO TO HOGWARTS?! THE SHENANIGANS?! She could have had a better life :(

God now I wanna know what that au would look like. She for sure would be slytherin, her bloodline and cunningness and all. But what I wanna know is if she would get along with the primary characters (Cassandra, Fisher, Colby, Lottie, Kevin, Robyn, Ivy, Winifred later on, Daniel, and the mc). Maybe? Most of her path in The Cursed Child was due to her isolation and her want for a paternal figure. Without the isolation part, she could end up better off. Maybe not strictly morally good, of course, but moreso fully morally gray. Like she will use the dark arts and she isn’t afraid to. But she wouldn’t outright do such horrible things. Idk I need to think about it more.

Edit: My math was off! She would be 2 years behind. I know this cause I’m 1999 and I would have been in the class of 2011, while she would be in the class of 2010. I think that makes the dynamic more interesting. Silver trio accidentally acquires a little sister whose bloodline has been tainted by a certain Grant? I get the feeling they would be an amazing influence considering the past Ivy and Daniel have.

Anyways Rodolphus is left with nothing in the end. A dead brother and a dead father/a god who abandoned him. He sees Delphini and watches as she worships her own father and he feels the past repeat.

And he does nothing. For ignorance is bliss.

Rodolphus and his worship for a man that never actually existed. His family (the Lestranges) speaks of his father like a loving manner, speaks of his father is the highest manner. He sees his father as something he needs to be because his father’s absence is heavy on the Lestranges. But most importantly, he sees his father as a god. A man who was great in every way, a man who embodied everything his society wanted him to be. The man who created him and his brother.

Glorified tales of his father is told to him and Rodolphus finds himself worshiping him. The perfect wizard. Why does it matter that he’s in France now? It’s not as if Lestranges are often close to their family any way.

His father is God and Rodolphus is a blind worshipper.

I think how Rodolphus believes his father is achieving something great in France all while Mr. Lestrange drinks himself to an early grave in Paris on top of the Eifel Tower, at the very tip. Thinking about Rodolphus’ faith lessening when Mr. Lestrange is found with foam coming out his mouth and Rodolphus only finds out when after Rabastan’s funeral. The disappointment with the knowledge that his father, his God, has now abandoned him. Leaving him with raw grief that can’t be soothed with a now useless wish for his Father’s guidance.

"Oh yes, everyone's always just so interested in mummy and father, aren't they?" She huffs, crossing her arms. She'd give the girl one more chance before sending her straight back to this 'universe' she claims to have come from. "Why don't you enlighten me as to how in Salazar's name you managed to break through these wards, and perhaps I'll consider taking you to meet mummy herself..?"
