To keep it easy to follow, I kept it to things that would actually be visually seen or be the most interesting for yall. (So there's other things I will be working on in the backend as I go that aren't listed here!)

The outline will definitely change over time. I might move things around or add or edit stuff based on my ideas, skill level, and everyone's suggestions in the future. But I will do my best to at least be consistent in creating 5 million boyfriends to collect.

I just now learned about Date Everything. BUT if they don't eventually add a DLC named "Touch Grass" where your backyard items become dateables too I will be disappointed

I think the saddest part about Unity's godawful news is that a lot of games are going to just. disappear.

it's like Unity is trying to go the way of streaming where the hidden gems and cult classics don't make enough money, so, they're taken offline. except this time it's with games (mostly indie).

to put it in perspective, hollow knight, cuphead, and ori are made in unity. so are night in the woods, tunic, and countless more indie gems. hell, AMONG US is made in unity. if the devs of any of these games can't shell out the outrageous cost, then maybe the devs will take them offline. and we'll just. never be able to play them anymore

it's a sad possibility that I don't think any of us ever had to consider. but now we do.

after reading the article about Veilguard's development-- jfc what they put the DA BioWare devs through is insane

Can you imagine shipping DAI after a tumultuous production, but your next project is looking promising but WHOOPS you're forced to work on a multiplayer vision of the next game for years, and you KNOW fans won't like DESPITE the previous game having sold millions of copies.

meanwhile your studio deliveries two other games that are generally negatively received by the public and had their own crazy ass developments, one of the sister studios (Montreal) gets canned as a result, senior leadership is resigning, and then you get asked to perform a fucking miracle with DATV by reworking it in under two years, right after suffering the pandemic AND going through a writer and actor's strike????

and then after a decade of being tossed around and ignored, the game is finally out and... you get fucking fired

Did Peri tell Timmy that he was planning to become a Fairy Godparent/that he was assigned a godkid? When we first see the fam reunite in the series, Cosmo and Wanda didn't seem to know.

Timmy had known Peri might pursue becoming a godparent, because Peri had consulted with him about career tracks!! And like. Being the only one invited to Peri's college graduation tends to give Timmy more insight than his parents. Special older brother privileges.

As for being assigned a Godkid, Timmy sorta... Stumbled into it. He found out long before Peri was told he had been given an assignment!

I love how Dev Patel’s Character (I’m going to call him Hanuman) was told by his mother that his future can be found in the roots (lines) of his hands.

And how he tried to save his mother from the fire, grabbing with child’s hands, but instead burned his future away.

And how our first real view of them is when he bargains his way into a job that will lead him to the men that took his future away. Scarred, pale, blank and ruined.

Just like the monkey, Hanuman reached out to the burning desired life, and was supposedly stripped of his potential and power as punishment by the powers that be.

But then, with love and care from others battered, he was guided to his heart, and found it still beating and unfettered. A warrior’s heart.

And so drumbeat by drumbeat, he shaped himself, his hands, into a weapon of justice. To save the future. To remain nameless but to return vengeance upon those who would do others harm with no thought.

His hands, created by the past, shaped and balanced the future.

indie games are safe!!

good news! unity has walked back a lot of the runtime fee!

they made a blog post outlining their new terms, the link is here. but if you want a sparknotes version, here's the highlights:

1. the runtime fee is not retroactive. previously released games are safe.

2. the fee only applies to the next major version of unity. developers can choose not to upgrade if they don't want do deal with it.

3. the fee is opt-in and number of installs is self-reported. if they'd prefer, developers can instead pay a 2.5% revenue share. (for reference, unreal is 4%.)

4. interestingly, the splash screen is being completely removed. this is probably a way to improve their reputation.

overall, this is a HUGE improvement! but, if I remember right, there was not any revenue share before, so, we are not at the same point we started. unity will still be taking a larger cut of developers' revenue if they choose to use newer features. but, it is nowhere near as drastic as we thought it would be.

overall, I think we're in a stable spot now, but I also think unity has lost most if not all of the trust it had. especially with indies. there has already been a mass exodus, and I kinda hope that will keep going.
