What would Kurt think of Hole and Foo Fighters? About Dave and Courtney? I get the feeling that he would have appreciated their musical directions, both of which he influenced.Dave strikes me as a genuinely nice guy and despite the stress of being in the same band, I think Kurt would respect him.Kurt loved Courtney's trainwreck nature. No idea how much of that was the hardcore drugs. I think he'd be happy about where she is now, at least by comparison. no, seriously 🤝🏾 (more thoughts under the cut).

Hellboy's demeanor in devilyouknow tears my soul apart. To see him go from quippy, to basically sorrowful was heart-wrenching. But to see him not allowed to at least be happy that his friends are still kicking (especially since they're stronger than they've ever been). It's rlly heartbreaking that no check-in from the best friends 5 ever crew was ever deemed necessary enough to focus on (especially after hell on earth). I know it's prolly cus Mignola and other writers wanted to keep the eras separate (like how hb in hb and the bprd wears a shirt ((usually)) but hb in seed of destruction onward doesn't), but to not show any meaningful interaction between the main 3 near the end is so cruel.

They made a point to show that Hellboy's standoffishness bothered Liz too, but that never developed into something more. Hellboy never acknowledged Liz's complete control of her vril, or grew any interest in Abe's new transformation.

Why was it portrayed as business as usual? It wasn't. Their surroundings changed them so much, they're worldviews were so different compared to when they were alive during seed of destruction. To not give them a moment, as friends, to see where each of them were. To give each other a final moment of solace. It's too grim.

We were shown, whole panels, that liz missed hellboy. that abe missed hellboy. and u're telling me, as soon as they saw each other they just talked like nothing new happened? no tears? no hug? moment of silence? I don't care if they didn't have time. No group of friends would ever care if they didn't have time.

They have too much history to simply react this way to each other. I don't care what apocalypse is ailing the world. THEY'RE FRIENDS. MAKE THEM ACT LIKE IT.

Just finished the new Kerrigan Byrne book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.  All thoughts and opinions are my own. On August 27th Kerrigan Byrne brings us the first in a new series.  We start the Devil You Know series with How To Love A Duke In 10 Days.  Ms Byrne is out of the gate with a tough subject...rape.  Actually, it's more about the aftereffects of the rape.  The first of our three boarding school friends is Lady Alexandra Lane.  When the unthinkable happens her friends stand beside her, help her (that's an understatement), and keep her (and their) secrets.  A lifelong close friendship like this is rare and lovely.  She meets the Duke of Redmayne in an original way.  While departing a train, the Dukes horse is spooked & runs amuck.  Alex bravely stops the horse but it knocked out, leaving the Duke to take her home with him.  During an adventure piers Atherton was clawed by a big cat.  He's scarred, lucky to be alive, and not in a good mood.  These two wounded souls help each other finally move forward.  They're good for each other.  I'm not sure anyone else could have reached Alex, Piers being a kindred spirit of sorts.  By the time their happily ever after came around I was relieved.  I got invested in the characters and wanted them to have a good ending, or beginning.  I'm now on pins and needles, I have to wait until Spring 2020 for the next installment.  If All Scot And Bothered is who I think it is...I'm soooo there.  Bring it on.  Happy reading. #Netgalley  #KerriganByrne  #HowToLoveADukeIn10Days  #DevilYouKnow  #StMartin'sPress  #Romance

A walk through of how I made my hand canon.

Stuff you need:

Eva foam (10mm thick)

Craft foam (1 or 2mm)

Some kind of glue, I just used hot glue

Box cutter knife, Stanley knife or scalpel/exacto

Dremel/ rotary tool/ some type of sander

Pvc pipe w/ diameter of roughly 2 inches

Hand canon blueprints from here

Plasti dip or plasti kote

Acrylic paints

Making of the prop:

1. Cut out the rough shape from 10mm foam, one the normal way round, one flipped and glue them together with the texture on the inside.

2. Start adding layers of 2mm craft foam, similar to how shown in the pictures to get more detail into the gun. I also added the barrel fronts and pommel out of random plastic parts I found in hardware stores ( I went to wilkos and B&Q). Cut out a hole in the gun and put in the pcv pipe as a barrel. 3.dremel and smoothen edges to your liking, then fill in Seam lines with poly filler or similar flexible fillers.

4. Spray on base layers of plasti dip, plasti kote or your preferred foam primer, then either airbrush or dry brush acrylic paints onto the gun. For this gun I mixed black and silver to get gunmetal, and made orange for the barrel and the decal.

5. Paint the decal with an airbrush preferably, using a stencil (can be paper, but betterif it is an actual stencil material)

6. Weather with silver highlights, with a very dry brush and almost no paint and brown watered down acrylics , mostly wiped away after with a ratio of around 1 part paint:4 part water

7. Done!
