have to do my final essay for my banned books class n i aint started yet n im jus tryin rn to start it. but the prompt/topic is a vague 'can books harm adults?' and i have to base my argument on one of the books we have been assigned n like
its kinda hard. because obviously i have to argue it through the lens of book banning, but so much banning is done at a school system level and sometimes public schools. and tbh like i wanna say Yes books can harm people but then what kinda harm? because the kind of 'harm' i think would be for books like manifestos or propaganda or some sorts of misinformation things.
and i COULD argue that books can 'harm' adults in terms of harm being. discomfort. but is that harm? does someone being uncomfortable with something mean it harms them? and even if i go with this concept of 'harm' being discomfort or causing people to be disgusted, possibly triggered, then i still would not argue such justifies banning books because sometimes the Purpose of books is to 'harm' people in such a way. like naked lunch or lolita.
idk im rambling. like im tryna figure out which book to base my argument on and i wanted to do american psycho but i dont have much time to read it all properly. i could do to kill a mockingbird but i dont think that really can harm an adult. maybe the bluest eye then because that one is. yeah. but i havent finished it either. ugh
#gonna give a tag for my school/literature rambling like this its#egg lit#because sorry if i am clouding ur dash lskhgskhgslhgslhg#i will likely end up doing the bluest eye its easier to digest unlike american psycho#and unlike mockingbird it. yeah it can harm adults w its depictions of incestuous assault and the hopelessness of the ending#tbh i think that will be a decent argument about issues or harsh topics being presented without a 'hopeful' solution or ending

Intestinal Problems Doctor Gujarat: Dr.Jigar Patel, Your Path to Digestive Wellness
The intestines play a vital role in digestion, absorbing nutrients from food and eliminating waste. When these functions are disrupted, it can lead to a variety of uncomfortable and concerning intestinal problems. If you're experiencing digestive issues in Gujarat, seeking expert guidance from a qualified intestinal problems doctor is crucial.
Understanding Intestinal Problems
Intestinal issues can vary from mild discomfort to more serious complications. Common problems include irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) like Crohnās disease and ulcerative colitis, food intolerances, and infections. Symptoms can include abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and nausea. While these problems can be distressing, they are treatable with the right approach.
However, some intestinal issues are more complex and can be linked to liver conditions, which are often interconnected. For example, liver diseases like cirrhosis can cause complications in the digestive system, leading to symptoms like bloating, nausea, or even gastrointestinal bleeding. Itās essential to address both the gastrointestinal and liver-related issues simultaneously for optimal health.
Why Choose Dr.Jigar Patel: The Best Gastroenterologist in Gujarat
Dr.Jigar Patel is one of the most respected gastroenterologists in Gujarat. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the diagnosis and treatment of intestinal problems, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care. His goal is to address both short-term relief and long-term health to improve the overall well-being of his patients.
Dr. Patelās reputation as the best gastroenterologist in Gujarat is attributed to his skill in treating complex cases and his ability to work collaboratively with patients. His treatment plans combine medical therapy with lifestyle and dietary adjustments, ensuring comprehensive care that treats the whole person, not just the symptoms.
Complicated Cirrhosis Treatment in Ahmedabad
One of the areas Dr.Jigar Patel specializes in is complicated cirrhosis treatment in Ahmedabad. Cirrhosis is a severe liver disease that can lead to a range of complications, including intestinal problems like ascites (fluid retention), gastrointestinal bleeding, and malnutrition. Managing cirrhosis is crucial, as it can progressively worsen if left untreated, causing severe complications.
For patients suffering from cirrhosis-related complications, Dr. Patel employs a multidisciplinary approach that may include medications, lifestyle changes, and regular monitoring to manage the diseaseās progression. In some cases, advanced treatments like liver transplantation may be necessary. Dr. Patelās expertise in dealing with complicated cirrhosis ensures that patients receive the most effective treatment options available.
How Dr.Jigar Patel Treats Intestinal Problems
When it comes to intestinal problems, Dr. Patel utilizes a range of diagnostic tools, including endoscopy, colonoscopy, and imaging studies, to accurately diagnose the condition. Based on the results, he creates a customized treatment plan that may include medication, dietary modifications, and lifestyle changes. For more severe conditions like IBD or complicated liver disease affecting the intestines, Dr. Patelās expertise ensures that patients receive specialized care that is tailored to their specific needs.
If you're experiencing intestinal problems in Gujarat, don't hesitate to schedule an appointment with Dr.Jigar Patel. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for managing intestinal problems effectively and preventing complications.

That Time a Published Author Told Me to Un-Queer My Novel
So, I don't think I ever shared this story on Tumblr before.
As you may know I've spent the past ten years turning my old Welcome to Night Vale fanfic into a stand alone novel called Echo of the Larkspur. Now, I haven't been working on it ten years straight. I'd pick it up, do a bunch of editing and rewriting, submit it to agents/publishers, get turned down, put the book away, wait 2-3 years, dust off the book, re-edit and rewrite, etc etc. A cycle that repeated itself far too many times that I would like.
Well, during one of these cycles when I was in the 'get rejected by every agent and publisher I submit to' stage I asked the writing group I was in what I was doing wrong. Because at this point I had reached a hundred total rejections and I was starting to suspect that the issue was with me.
One of the members of this writing group, a male author who was traditionally published, offered to read my first chapter and give his advice on how to fix it. This was, in retrospect, a mistake. But I was desperate. I sent him the first chapter and waited for his response.
Folks. The email he sent me changed my life.
First he said that agents wouldn't publish my novel because it was Sci-fi with hardcore gay erotica in it. This is curious because while the book certainly is queer, at no point in the conversation with this man did I say it was hardcore erotica. Nor did the first chapter feature any. It's almost as if he assumed that just because something was gay, it had to be hardcore erotica. Interesting.
He went on to say that a Human/Robot pairing was weird and that there was "No Way" my story could seriously address the issues of a relationship like that. Once again, he only read the first chapter. He just...assumed I wouldn't think of that? And that my book wouldn't cover it?
The author then said āI also felt that the LGBTQ inclusion really seems to cloud things.ā Direct Quote.
And then this is when he said my favorite quote of them all:

The idea of a book being a sci-fi with romance AND a mystery is a Modern Art Marzipan Owl. It's just too confusing! No one can handle a story that is a mystery in a sci-fi enviroment AND has a romantic subplot! THEIR BRAINS WOULD LITERALLY EXPLODE!
Thankfully he had a solution to my book problem. His answer? Turn the book into an Action Spy Thriller and turn S.A.G.E., a robot that identies as a gay man, into a sexy lady robot who needs a MAN to teach her what it means to be human.

(I assume the male lead will teach the 'confused' female robot how to be human via his penis.)
Now my favorite part about this advice is that at no point did he outright say "Remove the gay part". No, instead he sneakily changed the robot love interest into a female robot as if I wouldn't notice. Just sort of swept away the gay bits as something totally unneeded and just mucking up the narrative. Also that's not the plot of my story, I have no idea where this virus thing came from.
(Also note that the female robot can't be robotic-like at all. Must preserve the average straight-man sex drive at all costs I guess)
He then finished his email basically saying that I should remove everything that 'traditional publishers' don't like (aka the queer parts) and make it easier for 'your average reader' to digest and my book will be good as published!
When I said this email changed my life I meant it. Because it made me realize I'd rather be self published and unknown than traditionally publish milquetoast trash like he suggested. Like holy fuck. If I removed all of the "Difficult" to digest stories out of Echo of the Larkspur then there wouldn't be a book left!
So here I am. Self publishing my Marzipan Modern Art Owl of a book. I know it'll never see the inside of a bookstore or top the charts on Goodreads but hey, I'd rather it speak to one person than have a thousand people get excited for the part where the male lead teaches the lady robot how to be human (via his penis).
If a Queer Sci-fi/Romance/Mystery novel sounds like your jam then consider preordering it!
Looking for something to read now? Can't afford the book? Willing to read in exchange for an honest review? You can join my ARC book readers here!

Astrology observations - Part 4 (use whole signs)
š Moon in 4th is one of my favourite placements. These people usually have a good career, like an emotionally fulfilling one. They won't stay in a job that doesn't make them happy. Their mom can help them choose a career or give them interview tips.
š®Mars in 2nd house people are so lucky when it comes to earning money, it's like, they get a new money making opportunity just when they're on their last penny. They're also not afraid to get their hands dirty and are willing to do almost anything, very hard working people. They're also the ones managing all the money in their family.
š Mercury in 8th house people are the ones with a "sexy brain" like the WAY their mind works, are so good at analysing arguments and coming up with the best possible solution. Good debating skills. These people have great manifestation skills, I have a list of 100 + incidents, it's honestly a little scary. Can also develop clairvoyant abilities if they work on it.
I haven't met a single non religious, Sun in 9th house person in my life. Even if they're not that religious in their younger years, they will be when they get older. Always willing to help others even when they themselves are suffering, my mom has this, and.....it pisses me off so bad. The "put your own oxygen mask on first" advice is for you all. Stop helping people, be selfish, it's not your duty to make everyone else's life better. My mom doesn't listen, but maybe you all will.
š Venus in 11th house is a placement that's really good from a business perspective. They're great at negotiations so that's helpful. They won't like doing a regular 9 to 5 job as it will suppress their freedom and creativity. They will open their own business pretty early on in life, in like late 20's or early 30's. Great architects and interior designers. I remember when I made the architecture and astrology post, a lot of people had this.
š®I haven't seen anyone talk about this, but moon in 6th house people can be really good leaders, they're very helpful and kind and their ability to understand emotions makes them extremely likable. They have more of a people oriented leadership style. They focus on building strong relationship with their group members or employees. Also, why are you all always sick š? Prone to anxiety and stress and this leads to body pain and digestive issues. Please put your health first.
š It's really funny how ALL my friends, every single one, has Venus in 1st. I would say that rather than us being pretty, we're just very likable. Even if they're introvert or shy, they have a communication style that makes other people want to talk to them. It's just an aura thing, tbh. Also, they're huge people pleasers and will do their best not to offend anyone, like even if a person is being annoying, they won't say anything. (Mars in 1st can change this)
š® Jupiter in 2nd house is not good for marriage but great for career and friendships. I know people with this who are still in contact with their pre school friends. Their friends will help them in their career as well. They're intelligent but they think they're not, and this makes them lose a lot of opportunities. Need to have a little bit of courage to succeed in life.
š Sun in 12th house people probably had a painful childhood (more so than others), if mercury is with sun in 12th, then they write poems to express this pain. They're good writers, and can be lyricists, authors, script/play writers, etc. these people are physically weak. Might also not know who they are, as in, not aware of their own personality traits.
š®Saturn in 12th house people lack confidence when they're young, but become more confident as they get older and learn to get out of their comfort zone. These people have better luck outside of their homeland. This is a good placement if you want to become a psychologist as it gives you the ability to properly analyse those with mental disorders. They also look aloof most of the time. This is another placement that is good in terms of writing skills, many famous authors have this (those who write sad stuff)

It took me nearly 15 years to get my endometriosis diagnosis and comprehensive treatment, but I recognize Iām super privileged in being able to access care where I live from one of the top doctors in endometriosis research(specifically endometriosis in adolescents, but his research spans all age groups). I want to share some of the things I learned, along with study sources he linked me to, so others can advocate to their providers for the care they need. So without further ado:
⨠What I Wish I Knew About Endometriosis 15 Years Ago āØ
No amount of pain is ānormalā
Donāt get gaslit into thinking āeveryoneā who has periods goes through pain. Seek treatment - you deserve better.
Diagnosis/treatment is kinda a pain, even with a doc who takes you seriously
The general course of action for diagnosis/treatment will be attempt treatment through OTC painkillers (Tylenol, Midol, etc), attempt at least 1-2 forms of hormonal birth control(typically oral contraceptive/birth control pill or the ring/patch/shot), then decide with your doctor whether to pursue either further hormone treatments, such as GnRH(which suppress estrogen/can help stop progression of endo) or an IUD, and/or surgical intervention where they go in and find/remove the existing lesions.
Surgery for me took a couple hours, and I had an IUD placed during the operation(at recommendation of my doc). Full recovery was around 2 weeks. Its worth noting right now you can technically only be diagnosed through surgery.
You may have to mix-and-match to find the right solution.
Only 33% of people with endometriosis in a recent controlled study saw significant improvement by IUD alone, as compared to IUD with supplementary hormonal treatment(like oral birth control or hormone inhibitors). Source: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1083318812002379
Some options may actually make it worse. Keep an eye on your symptoms.
Studies show that estrogen based treatments can potentially exacerbate endometriosis and promote endometrial growth, so treatments without estrogen or with specific types of estrogen are more recommended. Source: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5683134/
Its Got Hella Comorbidities
Fibromyalgia, scoliosis, arthritis, thyroid disease, migraines, chronic fatigue, and bowel disease(IBS, crohnās, celiac, etc), and more are all potential associations/comorbitities. Itās also worth noting that having any of these in your family history may also put you at higher risk for endo. As my doc said - youāre not guaranteed to get all, or even any, of these, but theyāre things to keep an eye out for. Sources:

Sjogrenās Syndrome: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39083399/
Bonus Advice
No published studies exist showing any increase/decrease of symptoms between usage of different menstrual products. Do whatever makes you most comfortable!
For OTC pain management, Tylenol or Aleve may be your best bets over Advil, based on their anti-inflammatory nature.
He also recommended probiotics pretty heavily, since digestive issues(ie bad period poops) are super common. Any with >10Bn active cultures are good!
(Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, just someone that learned a lot and wants to share)

PSA BECAUSE I DREW THIS COMIC

And I say BY THE WAY IT'S NOT NORMAL TO HAVE PAINFUL PERIODS !
And people are like WHAAAAAAT in the comments. So her's an answer I just gave to someone:
"Aw man. Ok, so, because fuck women and also judeo-christianism and Eve must suffer and shit, and hundreds of year of patriarchy, and also habit and poor representation, AFAB peeps dying of pain during their period is seen as normal
It is not.
I only have mild cramps during my periods and it's not because of luck, it's because I'm rather healthy. My pains diminished significantly after I understood I was allergic to dairies and it was inflammatory to my whole body.
There can be A LOT of reasons why your uterus is sending you those violent messages, like stress, kysts, endometriosis... So you have to see a gynecologist who will get you through a battery of exams and find the source of it. Not one who will dismiss it as normal.
There are treatments and solutions, you don't have to die every month. On the holistic side, I recommend the woman code by Alisa Vitii. Maybe trying various anti inflammatory diets until you find what your body needs. Take care of yourself!"
Note that I'm obviously not a doctor, and also that a journey to health can be a harsh one. Especially when doctors "can't find anything" or straight up dismiss you. But every little step is worth it! And there are actual cool, caring doctors out there! You can do it!
Reminder that on top of medicine and diet, chronic illnesses and pains have a heavy emotional origin too. I say that as someone who saw a big decision and life change make what was left of a chronic digestive issue disappear. The reproductive system is related to everything classically feminine, like shame or guilt, repression, taboos, need of rest, cycles etc. Louise Hay has a wonderful book about the emotional origin of illnesses. Get therapy!
Make yourself heard and take care of yourself as much as you can, despite the times being harsh. BECAUSE the times are harsh. We deserve it!
š¼ššøšŗš·š¹ PSA over! š¹š·šŗšøšš¼

thinking about veilguard and bioware in general, i think we are reaching a point where people need to grapple with the inherent limits of what stories can be told in our Current Society and in AAA gaming companies.
on a labour level: mass layoffs, tons of developers leaving despite previously talking about how passionate and happy they were to be involved, not even paying severance, and crunching employees to the point of burnout. this is unfortunately pretty standard for AAA game companies.
on a cultural level: it is SO white and SO centrist-ly Canadian. i wrote up these asks outlining how. it is a repeated pattern of writing in which they go into tortured racial oppression allegories at best, while constantly peppering in a "but BOTH SIDES were wrong and made mistakes :( :( :(", in between their fictional atrocities that are clearly mirroring irl genocides and enslavement. or at worst, it's "the qunari are radical islamic borg" which has even less nuance. i personally thought, since dai came out in 2014, and a lot has changed since then about the world and in public awareness, that this would have filtered into the narrative and resulted in more satisfying and historically grounded writing. unfortunately not the case. it's shocking if you compare it to how sharp and aware and unflinching something like disco elysium is.
so what does this mean?
under these conditions, it is unavoidable that we get development by people who are rapidly cycled out of the company or demoralized into burnout. we get digestible, easy little soundbites of lore without much substance, because any complexity needs more time and coordination rather than the process of "quick, we have these assets, a lot of people involved in making them just got laid off, we need to make Something by next quarter to show the CEO". we get very little cohesion between games, despite the clear intent from dai to have so many plot points set up to follow through in a sequel, because the team and development are so chaotic that they can't hold onto a vision and complete it.
we also get this inherent caution and "conservatism" from the narrative, because on an ideological level, they're largely white people who want cops to be included in pride. so any major change to even a fictional society is Bad and Scary, and shouldn't be done without making sure that every character finger-wags appropriately at non-state violence. there is clearly not much ideological or even ethnic diversity within the leadership; or at least not enough that anyone there felt comfortable even speaking up on minor issues like the Incredibly Orientalist Isabela Outfit, let alone anything larger.
i don't personally think there's too much value in trying to analyze veilguard's plot or lore at this point. the final product is chaotically developed and does not seem to reflect the goals of the creators as set up in prior games, it's basically a ship of theseus in terms of the people and ideas involved in making it. this is sad for all of us, who were interested in the story, and attached to the characters, and were creatively fulfilled by engaging in the fandom. it's probably worse for the developers who have lost their jobs, burnt out, or feel unhappy with the game that they spent years of their life working on. it's certainly miserable as an indictment of The Industry, as well as the general societal climate of white Canadian centrism.
the solution is to create a society where people can develop games in peace and prosperity and stay on projects for longer, rather than constantly getting turfed out without severance pay. and to get some genuine leftists, poc, and indigenous people on staff who can weigh in and provide significant input, rather than a Council Of Liberal White Edmontonians every time.
in the meantime, at the very least, let's please stop preordering AAA games and supporting companies who notably abuse their employees.
#veilguard critical#bioware critical#txt#or...! people get really into godot or renpy or something and create an incredibly high effort unpaid project of dubious legality#if anyone wants to do that blink twice.#really the disappointment about dragon age (to me) is that interactive narratives have so much potential as a method of storytelling#but they did not really even scratch the surface in this one#and probably never will again bc the company seems to be hemorrhaging staff like crazy#if you compare this to something like supergiant games it's wild#they've been retaining their staff for like 15 years and you can SEE them building and progressing from each game and learning from it#and their games are beautiful and incredibly innovative and well written#and from what i know they prioritize work-life balance and refuse to crunch even if it's 'voluntary'#and meanwhile bioware is going from uhhh. me3 to anthem to andromeda to veilguard.#with the crunch being a compounding issue all the way through and probably contributing to a lot of mistakes and talent loss#anyway my only experience in game dev is fooling around by myself on dumb ideas but#i think even just from a general project management perspective it's clear that it's not possible to have good output#under these types of chaotic situations with a lack of leadership and retained knowledge

This idea came from someone asking me about Vās internal organs and gastro/intestinal workings. I delved into a bit of bio/mechanical research that might make sense in the Cyberpunk world. Follow the jump below!
ā
SomaTek specializes in manufacturing synthetic organs designed to transcend our organic limitations.
SomaTek GastroProā¢āØIn a world ravaged by toxic food chains, tainted water supplies, and unreliable agriculture, the GastroPro⢠synthetic stomach- amply nicknamed āthe iron gutā- is a feat of mechanical organ replacement. Capable of digesting virtually any hazardous or non-nutritive substance without harm, while mimicking and surpassing the core functions of a natural biological system.
The GastroPro⢠environment utilizes a stabilized industrial-grade acidic solution (SomaTekās trademarked confidential blend of fluorinated superacids exceeds the hydrochloric acid and pepsin present in an organic stomach) that is non-corrosive to internal components due to reactive smart hydrogel linings. This acid bath breaks down everything: from your home cooked dinner, to food past its expiration, to actual garbage- designed to adapt to a full range of ingested toxicity. After processing, the liquified matter proceeds to a secondary chamber which is programmed with enzymatic nano filters to separate and neutralize indigestible items versus actual processable materials. *Note that the GastroPro⢠is incapable of operating in isolation. The following organic systems are required to be enhanced or replaced:
Esophagus (GastroLineā¢) is equipped with reinforced smart hydrogel lining to withstand both caustic substances and abrasive matter. Peristaltic actuators move matter regardless of shape or size, while micro-blade emulsifiers begin compacting particularly dense or fibrous materials. Anti-reflux valves prevent acid from backing up.
Liver, Pancreas, Gall Bladder (GastroTox⢠Subsystem) further supports the GastroPro⢠by processing even rarer or complex toxins, capable of converting them into an array of energy for the body dependent on specific inputs. For example: chemical, electrical, first and second generation biofuel, etc. (Optional but highly recommended)
Intestines & Appendix (GastroTractā¢) serves as the primary absorption and release unit. Lined with nutrient-binding nanites to extract usable calories, vitamins, minerals, or chemicals. Absorption channels direct these throughout the body via embedded villi structures to the bloodstream and lymphatic system. In users with further modifications, waste may be redirected to a bypass port location of their choosing. The most popular choice being via a urinary tract.
Oral Cavity (OraPro⢠Subsystem) is a customizable sum of parts that further supports the GastroPro⢠with an artificial tongue embedded with gustatory receptors, reinforced cheek/gum lining, and teeth strong as chrome. (Optional but highly recommended)
Brain Chemistry (CraveShardā¢) the neural implant designed to be installed into the cyberdeck to simulate, regulate, or even suppress cravings. (Optional but highly recommended) The user may override urges based on their schedule and preferences, as well as control serotonin and dopamine feedback. The implant works harmoniously with receptors built into the GastroPro⢠to recognize the identity of consumed materials. It can even reproduce the effects caused by ingested alcohol, hallucinogenics, opioids, narcotics, etc.
Advantages over natural digestion include immunity to internal poisoning, pathogens, parasites, and contaminants. Zero indigestion, zero allergic reaction. Accelerated enzyme breakdown. And multi-source nutrition: users can derive sustenance from otherwise indigestible materials.
Please be aware the GastroPro⢠is not without its complications. Over-reliance can result in malabsorption issues if the user abuses the capabilities of the GastroProā¢. Care should be taken to continuously ingest products with beneficial properties. In the event of nutrient deficits, the userās deck will receive periodic warnings regarding nutritional supplementation to prevent systemic decline. Psychosomatic disorders may also emerge as a result of losing sensory pleasure of consumption (ādigestion dissonance'ā- disconnect with satiety) if the recommended OraPro⢠Subsystem and CraveShard⢠are not installed.
Regular care encompasses monthly detox flushes, filter replacements, nanite reseeding, and pH rebalancing treatments. All of which can be accomplished via a doctor licensed to administer Somatek devices.

Tips for writers with ADHD that get major writers block/burnout
Writers with ADHD and Writer's Block/Burnout
Tip #1 - Troubleshoot the Problem - I want to start here, in the most obvious place, because even for writers with ADHD, writer's block is often the result of a specific issue that can be surmounted once identified. My post 5 Reasons You Lost Interest in Your WIP, Plus Fixes! addresses some of the most common ones. It's worth checking to see if something on there resonates with you as a potential obstacle to progress.
Tip #2 - De-Stress Your Writing Time - Human brains are wired to respond in specific ways to perceived threats... fight, flight, or freeze. Quite often, what we call "writer's block" is actually your brain having a freeze response to writing because it's causing you stress and is therefore perceived as a threat.
So, anything you can do to de-stress your writing time can help. Troubleshooting the problem as in #1 is a good start. Set reasonable goals and deadlines... you can estimate your available writing time and calculate that with your estimated WPM to see if it's even possible for you to hit your word count goal. Go easy on yourself when you don't reach goals... celebrate even the smallest of wins, because negative thinking makes writing more stressful. Do what you can to set up an inviting writing space, light a candle (safely), play soft music, use ambient lighting, have your favorite beverage and snack at hand.
Tip #3 - "Gamify" Your Writing - Turning your writing goals into game achievements can make writing fun, which is another great way to de-stress it. You can usually find free game board templates online, or you can create your own. I like to set mine up like this:
You can set as many tasks as you want (within reason) for each goal, and your prizes can be anything from a handful of candy to buying something you really want, or doing something you really want to do. Whatever works for your budget that motivates you to get the tasks done.
Tip #4 - Do an Immersive Writing Sprint Session - YouTube is a wonderland of helpful videos for writers... not just easily digestible writing advice and research information, but also writing music, ambience rooms, and one of my favorites, immersive writing sessions. These are themed ambience rooms with ambient video, music, and sound effects, but they also have a writing sprint timer on the screen, so you are encouraged to write for however long (usually 10 to 20 minutes), then you get a five or ten-minute break before the next sprint starts. These can be a really great way to get into the zone if you're struggling otherwise.
Tip #5 - Eliminate Distractions - When you have ADHD, pretty much anything can be a distraction. If my desk is messy, I'll pause mid-sentence to clean it rather than write. If there's something on my desk I can fidget with or play with, I'll do that. If my phone is handy, I'll pick it up and start scrolling through social media. If I'm listening to music with words, I'll go look up the lyrics and fall down some weird tangentially related rabbit hole. If I'm hungry or thirsty, I'll get up fifty times to get a small snack or drink. So, I clean my desk ahead of time and remove anything I might be tempted to fiddle with. I only play instrumental music (usually an ambience room). I put my phone on silent or leave it in another room.
Literally anything I can do to head my usual distractions off at the pass. For me, it actually makes a big difference. Try keeping a running list of things that distract you while writing during a week of writing sessions. Then, go through the list and write solutions. This helps you build a pre-writing session distraction elimination routine.
I hope something here will work for you! I may do a part two to this soon, so keep an eye out!

AstrologyObservations:10

Disclaimer: my opinion
Iāve noticed many Sag risings can struggle with identity issues
Geminis are some of the most family oriented people Iāve met. They may not seem or appear that way but I think itās obvious if you get to know them.
Venus 12th house individuals are lowkey like dictators in their shadow side. Like telling their partner what to do and giving orders⦠š
Virgo risings have a ānaturalā model kind of look
Virgo moons try to find solutions when itās uncalled for or just give unsolicited advice. Itās from a good place and itās naturally how they are.. to try and put things in order but deffo set boundaries if it makes you uncomfortable.
Iāve also noticed virgo moons tend to be āfixersā in a relationship. But tbh this just goes for heavy virgo placements in general. They look for things to perfect because some of them think their ideal doesnāt exist, so they prefer to ācreateā it.
Many women with Leo placements can come across as ānaiveā or the type to be easily taken advantage of, they shine bright but Iāve seen many women with Leo placements in their big 3 get taken advantage of or used.
Earth signs in the big 3, in their shadow side, could speak to people with an agenda in mind as to how they can use that person or how that person is of use to them.
Iāve noticed many neurodivergent people tend to have prominent Aquarius placements or degrees.
People with 11 degrees in their chart could do really well with an online career or generally be good at getting attention online.
Capricorn risings are good at asking for help, of course this will depend on other aspects bla bla but just what Iāve noticed with a few Capricorn risings. They donāt find it difficult to reach out and ask for something even if they havenāt spoken to a person in a long time.
A lot of Pisces in the chart will deffo indicate high level of creativity.

If youāre a beginner in astrology or know someone who wants to get into it Iāve made a beginner series on the houses on my YT channel .
Theyāre in short format and very digestible and easy to understand and itās great for anyone who wants to have a rough idea.
I have created a playlist with them āThe houses in astrology- shortsā
Consider sharing it and checking it out if that sounds like something you or someone you know may need ;)
