One of the things I like to do is suede the neck hole for my doll heads. I like the cushion sueding provides, some protection, and the slight grip it gives. River’s head is especially mobile on the neck of the Impldoll body she has, that’s how she is able to literally look straight up or down, but that means her head snaps around a bit and that is where sueding comes in.

I do not buy real suede but that’s all personal preference. I’ve heard genuine suede has more tooth than Dr. Scholl’s moleskin suede if that is the route you want to go.

Francis is our gracious volunteer this afternoon. I cut the strip of moleskin to match the space around the s-hook hole. I then snip every few millimeters to the edge but not through the strip, just as if you were clipping a curved seam.

All there is to do is peel off the backing and start placing it around the neck hole. Make sure your cut side is facing outwards from the hole, that way when you make a curve you just spread the tabs out and go with it.

Moleskin is a little forgiving, so if you need to push a tab or two around you can do so before smoothing it down.

This concept also applies to joints. I like to suede the neck hole, shoulders, chest, torso, hips, feet and hands. If you have wiggle room in the knees/elbows/thigh joint you may be able to add suede for stability but most of my doll’s said joints are already snug and will not allow any.

07/09/1987: A distant memory...

The way he laughed. The way he spoke. The way he smiled… I remembered all that, but over time his face became more and more blurry as if a veil had been lifted before him. If it wasn't for that picture, the way his eyes lit up when he was going to do something stupid would have fallen into oblivion.

Well, Instagram is starting to kill my posts by limiting the hashtags too, I am running back to actually posting on tumblr too, instead of just commenting and participating fandom dwelling.

Those who have followed me on Instagram (as fragmentedimagination), you know I sew a lot less than before but I do more faceups and wigs.

I mostly collect SD's but I have few MSD's stored under my bed...

"Earthling Spark"

That night when you texted me to see if I wanted to go for a drive with you. It was out of the blue. Caught, off guard, but I didn't hesitate to reply back. I always wondered why you texted me. What thoughts were going through your head when you decided to hit send . I wonder, about a lot of things lately ..I remember asking you if I could hold your hand. I'm usually a shy person so I even surprised myself with such a bold request. My curiosity outweighed the shyness for that brief moment .. Somehow I knew it was gonna be different, but I had to know for sure .. And it was. And you felt it too.. pulling away.. You felt that spark. You said it felt different from all the other times you held someone's hand. Yet you chose to run from it, but that spark still lingers in the corridors of your structure.. like a ghostly silhouette.. Afraid of it .. but I've been trying to understand it, burning the tips of my fingers . Maybe I shouldn't .

Maybe I should have run too..

Would it have made a difference either way...
