Locally adapted, decentralised innovation is reshaping what environmental monitoring in Africa
Tumblr media
Projects like AirQo in Uganda and Clarity Nodes in Nairobi are deploying low-cost particulate matter sensors to create real-time urban air quality maps.
These portable devices, calibrated against reference stations, are not housed in government ministries—they’re installed in schools, markets, and transit corridors.
This hyperlocal, community-focused deployment marks a decisive shift toward monitoring as a distributed public good.
In the water space, compact mobile testing kits—some linked to smartphones—are enabling NGOs and universities to test for E. coli, nitrates, and fluoride in boreholes and streams.  These kits don’t require lab infrastructure or formal training, making them ideal for community-led sampling in rural areas.
Remote sensing is also playing a vital role. Satellite data from programs like Sentinel and MODIS is being used to track vegetation loss, algal blooms, and surface water dynamics.
In Lake Victoria, a hybrid approach pairs satellite analysis with on-the-ground sensors—offering a model for blended, multilayered monitoring frameworks that don’t depend on centralised equipment alone.
Perhaps the most transformative development is the rise of citizen science networks.
In Ghana, Nigeria, and Uganda, residents are using hand-held air monitors to document conditions in their own neighbourhoods.
These datasets are often shared via open-access platforms, where they inform city planning and regulatory debates. They also demonstrate a growing confidence in decentralised data ownership and interpretation.
Universities across the continent are enabling much of this innovation. Institutions like the University of Cape Town and Makerere University are not only building and testing sensors but also training local technicians and hosting data platforms. Their work has become a central node in an emerging, distributed monitoring ecosystem.

Hello!
I checked out your game, and I LOVE IT! And I love the music, too. In fact, I want to listen to it on my phone. So, could you probably make a soundtrack of it, please?
Hello! We're so glad you enjoyed it :D
I've now added the songs used to a playlist on the Free Music Archive here. It takes creating a free account to download music from FMA, but the playlist can be viewed and played without logging in. I have chosen this method of sharing so that the musician's pages are the easiest to find (these are their direct uploads shared to the playlist) : )
Thanks for the suggestion! I added this playlist link to the itch.io page as well to help people find these talented musicians who generously allow their work to be used in projects like this.

Basic life stuff on Father’s Day your dad may have never taught you
Men’s pants often have what’s called vanity sizing so a 32 inch waist between different brands is actually different sometimes. It’s still a good idea to try the pants on before you buy them.
A flathead screwdriver can be used on a Phillips head screw.
It’s always morally correct to simply walk away from a salesman. You don’t need to buy a mattress to be polite. Just leave. Walk away. Skedaddle.
A complete meal has fat, protein, carbs, and some kind of fruit or vegetable. A snack should have carbs and protein. That’s how you stay full for longer and get your vitamins. It’s really that simple.
Dumpster diving is legal in many countries including the US, Canada, and Australia but trespassing and property damage are illegal. If you are allowed to be in an area and can access the trash without breaking anything you can just take stuff
You should be thinking about retirement savings even in your 20s and 30s. Get a mutual fund.
If you go gambling, only spend cash and pull out exactly as much money as you’re willing to lose from the atm. Never use a credit card in a casino if you can avoid it.
You can add a layer of seasoning to a cast iron skillet right on the stove. You don’t actually have to put it in the oven every time.
To build a fire, build a little pile of kindling first with plenty of air under it. This can be sticks or leftover wood from the hardware store. Doesn’t matter. Then light some newspaper or leaves under it. This’ll help the kindling catch on fire. Then you can add a log to it. The log needs a long exposure to flames before it catches on fire.
Fresh cut wood needs to dry out for several months before it’ll work as either building material or firewood. Several years is even better.
Flower delivery for simple bouquets costs less than you think it does and makes a nice gift for people who are hard to shop for
University libraries often let the general public get a card to check things out from them for a yearly fee. This is useful to know if you’re ever doing some specific research.
To make hard boiled eggs easier to peel boil them with just barely enough to cover and let a lot of the water burn off. Then shock them in an ice bath when they’re done.
If you or your pets end up killing a venemous snake by accident or in self defense you should bury the head so that no animals get poisoned by it because the fangs can still distribute venom
Tall people who visit your house can see the tops of your cabinets and bookshelves. Clean accordingly if you don’t want people to see dust.
Annuals are plants that will die after one year and perennials are plants that live for multiple years
If you feel gross and like your life sucks maybe try getting a haircut

I ran out of tag space while yapping oops 💔💔💔 might reblog with what else I was going to say b4 tumblr cut me off idk
Who ends up being the first akuma in the bread girl au? Was the whole ordeal just as chaotic?
The First akuma is a tricky one! Since it's an obvious swap of Mylene and Ivan, I think it should be one of them - Stoneheart Mylene or Horrificator Ivan
The first akuma will need to be loud and straightforward, or else Beetle and Stray will have their ass beat
Stoneheart Mylene (combining her shyness and awkwardness) might be more associated with statues and blending in
"I don't know what you want from me! I wish I didn't feel this way! I wish I wasn't this way either!"
Horrificator Ivan might be a really in-your-face akuma
"Since all of you see me as a big scary monster, I might as well be one!"
I don't have any solid ideas about it yet, so if someone wants to contribute - I'm all ears :)
Thanks for the ask!
#Horrificator Ivan is defo the play imo#Stoneheart Mylene feels trickier to deal with#and i feel like it would be less obvious when Akumas arent already an established thing#whereas Horrificator is just generally impossible without akumas#and would definetly make for a good first villain#whilst stoneheart is also a good choice i feel like the direction you're saying u want to take with them#makes it so it would work better down the line#when again akumas are already an established threat#bc if the akuma is 1. statue themed and 2. trying to blend in#nobody is going to find that particularly strange i feel?#if im getting what ur putting down at least#and since Ivan's motivations are more about becoming what ppl truly think of him#and using it against them#that would be a lot more public and lightly to catch the guardians attention#along with being a bigger spectacle to introduce the heroes to paris with#like in canon i feel like ppl wouldnt have been so hyped about LB and CN so fast if their first fight wasnt such a massive thing u know#idk its 2am so my brain isnt working i might be talking nonsense out here#but i also think its a better shout for the whole did u capture the akuma thing#where theres a shit ton of horrificators#bc idk if stoneheart mylene is more minding her own business or not#like one of those types whod only attack if provoked#but no matter which way u go with her from concept alone i feel like horrificator is more of an issue#that would necessitate the guardian distributing the miraculous rather than trying to deal with it under wraps at first#bc like if its a public spectacle theres nothing fu or whoever the guardian is here can do#and that would be the only way to get them to distribute such dangerous miraculous#idk where my brain was going with that bc i lost my train of thought whilst typing but#thought id mention it still lol#ill add to this in the morning when i have more than 1.6 braincells bc the concept of how to go about the first akuma is greatly interesting#and discussing it is genuinely very fun like its cool to think about what aspects the akuma needs to be an effective first challenge#the horrificator solution is also relatively easy i feel like the only challenge is figuring out how to shrink them

so: masking: good, unequivocally. please mask and please educate others on why they should mask to make the world safer for immune compromised people to participate in.
however: masking is not my policy focus and it shouldn't be yours, either. masking is a very good mitigation against droplet-born illnesses and a slightly less effective (but still very good) mitigation against airborne illnesses, but its place in the pyramid of mitigation demands is pretty low, for several reasons:
it's an individual mitigation, not a systemic one. the best mitigations to make public life more accessible affect everyone without distributing the majority of the effort among individuals (who may not be able to comply, may not have access to education on how to comply, or may be actively malicious).
it's a post-hoc mitigation, or to put it another way, it's a band-aid over the underlying problem. even if it was possible to enforce, universal masking still wouldn't address the underlying problem that it is dangerous for sick people and immune compromised people to be in the same public locations to begin with. this is a solvable problem! we have created the societal conditions for this problem!
here are my policy focuses:
upgraded air filtration and ventilation systems for all public buildings. appropriate ventilation should be just as bog-standard as appropriately clean running water. an indoor venue without a ventilation system capable of performing 5 complete air changes per hour should be like encountering a public restroom without any sinks or hand sanitizer stations whatsoever.
enforced paid sick leave for all employees until 3-5 days without symptoms. the vast majority of respiratory and food-borne illnesses circulate through industry sectors where employees come into work while experiencing symptoms. a taco bell worker should never be making food while experiencing strep throat symptoms, even without a strep diagnosis.
enforced virtual schooling options for sick students. the other vast majority of respiratory and food-borne illnesses circulate through schools. the proximity of so many kids and teenagers together indoors (with little to no proper ventilation and high levels of physical activity) means that if even one person comes to school sick, hundreds will be infected in the following few days. those students will most likely infect their parents as well. allowing students to complete all readings and coursework through sites like blackboard or compass while sick will cut down massively on disease transmission.
accessible testing for everyone. not just for COVID; if there's a test for any contagious illness capable of being performed outside of lab conditions, there should be a regulated option for performing that test at home (similar to COVID rapid tests). if a test can only be performed under lab conditions, there should be a government-subsidized program to provide free of charge testing to anyone who needs it, through urgent cares and pharmacies.
the last thing to note is that these things stack; upgraded ventilation systems in all public buildings mean that students and employees get sick less often to begin with, making it less burdensome for students and employees to be absent due to sickness, and making it more likely that sick individuals will choose to stay home themselves (since it's not so costly for them).
masking is great! keep masking! please use masking as a rhetorical "this is what we can do as individuals to make public life safer while we're pushing for drastic policy changes," and don't get complacent in either direction--don't assume that masking is all you need to do or an acceptable forever-solution, and equally, don't fall prey to thinking that pushing for policy change "makes up" for not masking in public. it's not a game with scores and sides; masking is a material thing you can do to help the individual people you interact with one by one, and policy changes are what's going to make the entirety of public life safer for all immune compromised people.

everything feels hopeless these days because of the rise of global Corporatist Techno-Feudal Fascism, we can't forget about caring for each other and ourselves
You have to put on your own oxygen mask before changing the world, to continue living in a hostile society is an act of rebellion
traditional activism feels too hollow and ableist so instead, build up your own community: spend money in your local businesses, buy more drugs, maybe even throw up a graffiti or shoplift necessities (only from big corporations!) to then distribute. use public libraries, help out in a community garden or join a queer group
the point is to do things! indulge yourself and reinterpret your pre-existing behaviors as revolutionary and real. nevermind an actually defined structure, that's Authority and we can't liberate ourselves with the tools of our oppressors. only through voluntarist activism, in which the same few people show up for a few years before burning out or being involved in some sort of abuse, can we do Good. in fact, just go ahead and throw all that activism in the backgrounds, it sometimes doesn't feel good, after all. Collective freedom is only the sum of all individual freedoms, so by looking only after your own comfortableness and without ever doing anything that feels Bad, we can all build a revolution and freedom

Phantom letters - DPXDC PROMPT
The bats wake up one day to the internet going crazy; people around the world were getting letters from they're diseased loved ones. The reactions are mixed, from people being outraged for the "prank" to people crying in melancholy at getting closure.
All the letters have something in common: They're closed with a green sealing wax that had an stylize DP and the name Phantom beneath it. Posts about the cards were using the # Phantom Letters.
The bats are discussing the viral posts in the cave when Alfred comes holding a basket filled with letters, announcing they were left at the doors. The letters had the sealing wax that they recognize from the posts. Checking the cameras they can see how they glitch before the basket appears.
Alfred starts to distribute the letters that had only one destinatary. Letters from each Thomas and Martha to both Bruce and Alfred. Letters from each John and Mary to Dick. A letter from Catherine to Jason. A letter from the Drake's to Tim, and another one to Bruce.
Once they had calmed down enough from the shock, Alfred proceeded to read the shared recipients. From Thomas and Martha to "The grandchildren we never got to meet." From John and Mary to "the family that took our little Robin in." Letters from Catherine to "My little boys family." The letters were directed to people the deceased didn't get to meet.
As much as the mere existence of the letters tugged at their hearts, they decided to not read them until they verified that the handwriting actually belong to the ones it claimed. They checked each letter, and in the end confirmed the letters were in fact from they're lost love ones.
After much discussion, each person makes the decision to read they're own letters later in private, and they proceed to read the ones that shared recipients out loud. The letter mentioned specifics like names and events that the deceased shouldn't have been able to know, including they're vigilante abilities, which had them pause each time to panic a bit. But what was more interested were certain pieces of the letters that mentioned a Prince Phantom.
"Prince Phantom said to don't mention things past our death, but it wasn't a command, so we're hoping this won't be much of a problem." - John and Mary
"I still can't believe Prince Phantom is letting us do this, but I'm so glad." - Catherine
It finally paints the mystery in a more concerning light when at the end of Thomas and Martha's letter there is a call for help.
"We're sorry for ending the letter on a serious tone, but seeing the kind of job you all get involved in, we wanted to ask: Could you please help Prince Phantom? Phantom had asked us to not give information about this, but he's so young, and has already been hurt so much. Please, check on Amity Park, Illinois."
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Meanwhile, team Phantom has decided that they needed to get the news about the GIW out of Amity and ask for help. Two problems:
the GIW blocks any technological attempt made.
People might be afraid to learn that ghosts exist and side with the GIW.
As a way to deal with the public image, Phantom opens a possibility that the death have never had:
"All afterlives are open to write letters to their love ones that are still alive today. Nothing that includes threats, and don't go talking about the anti-ecto acts or Amity Park yet, we're trying to ease people into our existence first. Also, I know you all check on your love ones when the veil is thin, but please keep the things you shouldn't know out of the letters if possible. If you want your letter to be sent in the first batch, make sure to deliver your letter before the week ends."
Letters are a good way to reconnect people with the death, they aren't digital, and the GIW won't be able to intercept letters if they're send through inter-dimensional portals. Two birds in one shot.

"A new study evaluated a low-cost yet effective way to combat bacterial resistance using curcumin–the natural yellow plant compound in turmeric.
In 2017, a tragic death in a Nevada hospital was linked to a new strain of bacteria that had developed a resistance to 26 different antibiotics. Called ‘superbugs’, such antibiotic-resistant bacteria (including MRSA) remains a pressing public health threat.
Now researchers at Texas A&M University have shown that curcumin, the compound that gives turmeric its characteristic bright yellow color, can be used to reduce this antibiotic resistance.
They showed that when curcumin is intentionally given to bacteria as food, and then activated by light, it can trigger deleterious reactions within these microbes, eventually killing them. They demonstrated that this process reduces the number of antibiotic-resistant strains and renders conventional antibiotics effective again.
The results of the study were published this week in the journal Scientific Reports.
“We need alternative ways to either kill the superbugs or find a novel way to modify natural processes within the bacteria so that antibiotics start to act again,” said Dr. Vanderlei Bagnato, professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and senior author on the study.
Photodynamic inactivation, a technique that has shown promise in combating bacterial resistance, uses light and light-sensitive molecules, called photosensitizers, to produce reactive oxygen species that can kill microorganisms by disrupting their metabolic processes.
In the new experiments, the team used curcumin, which is also a natural food for bacteria. They tested this technique on strains of Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) that are resistant to amoxicillin, erythromycin, and gentamicin.
The researchers exposed the bacteria to many cycles of light exposure and then compared the minimum concentration of antibiotics needed to kill the bacteria after light exposure versus those that did not get light exposure.
“When we have a mixed population of bacteria where some are resistant, we can use photodynamic inactivation to narrow the bacterial distribution, leaving behind strains that are more or less similar in their response to antibiotics,” Bagnato told Texas A&M News.
“It’s much easier now to predict the precise antibiotic dose needed to remove the infection.”
MORE PROGRESS ON SUPERBUGS: • The Humble Potato Could Hold Key to Beating Hospital Superbugs and Crop Diseases • Compounds in Amber Could Help Fight Drug-Resistant Bacteria Superbugs, Say Scientists • When Antibiotics Failed, She Found a Natural Enemy of the Superbug to Save Husband’s Life
The team noted that photodynamic inactivation using curcumin has tremendous potential as an adjuvant or additional therapy with antibiotics for diseases, like pneumonia, caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
“Photodynamic inactivation offers a cost-effective treatment option, which is crucial for reducing medical expenses not only in developing countries but also in the United States,” said Dr. Vladislav Yakovlev, professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and author on the study..."

I think a lot of the disagreements regarding how acceptable it is to be public about media piracy channels boil down to different experiences based on what exactly you're trying to pirate.
Some folks are like "it doesn't matter whether you publicly discuss piracy sites because the publishers 100% already know about them, and if they get taken down an identical replacement will be up and running a week later", and sure, that's absolutely true – if the media you're interested in pirating is relatively mainstream.
On the flip side, if the shit you want to torrent lives at the intersection between "of interest only to a limited audience" and "currently owned by a notably litigious publisher that isn't an all-knowing global megacorp" – and this is where a great deal of fringe media lives – greater caution may be warranted, because there's no guarantee when, or even if, a given piece of media will become available again when wherever it's currently on offer eats a takedown notice.
That's kind of the paradox of trying to preserve and distribute media which appeals only to a limited audience. On the one hand, obviously an archive or repository that nobody knows about doesn't do anyone any good; on the other hand, if a given piece of media has only ever been made publicly available outside of commercial venues via one particular channel, and that channel gets overpublicised and subsequently taken down, it's often far from clear whether anyone will be willing and able to fill the void.

Tariffs and trade wars replace class conflict with economic nationalism. Rather than having workers unite against their bosses, tariffs put labor unions and corporate executives on the same side of a struggle against foreign workers and bosses, thus moving the focus of economic competition from class to nationality.
As the US labor movement weakened, its ambitions shrunk. Rather than pushing for transformative economic reforms, many unions satisfied themselves with calls for tariffs to protect domestic industries and US jobs. A strong internationalist labor movement would look in another direction: increasing cross-border cooperation between workers of different nations, preventing the bosses from forcing workers to compete with one another for scraps. This can be paired with strong public investment and industrial policy within each nation to support good jobs for all workers.
A long, thought-provoking article on the matter:
In 1966, at the height of the labor movement’s postwar power, Walter Reuther, then president of the United Auto Workers, helped establish the first four “World Auto Councils.” Workers at General Motors, Volkswagen-Daimler-Benz, Fiat, and Chrysler (now Stellantis) could now meet across borders and, it was hoped, establish common international contract expiration dates. The plan fell short of an international bargaining agreement, but the unions hoped it would “strengthen the hand of each union in the contract negotiations of its own country,” said World Auto Councils coordinator Burton Bendiner in 1978. In 1971, French GM workers who supplied gearboxes and transmissions for the company’s European operations went on strike. They coordinated with their counterparts in Germany’s IG Metall and the UAW to pressure GM management. They refused work that management had diverted from a struck plant and created a common strike fund. The French union, said Bendiner, was able to draw strength from the more powerful UAW. Similarly, when Ford workers in Britain went on strike in 1971, their counterparts in West Germany refused to pick up the slack with overtime. This increased striking workers’ leverage at the table while avoiding the legal challenges a sympathy strike would have provoked. Instead of letting companies pit plants and workers against each other, unions in France, Belgium, Austria, Italy, and Germany negotiated a “multinational-union agreement” that forced their common employer—a Belgian and French glass company—to distribute work among subsidiaries in different countries. This pointed to an international vision of economic development and job creation. The UAW was championing solidarity, not competition for scarce jobs. The common target was the multinational corporation... Auto companies, which have more plants than they need, have a bargaining advantage because they can easily add and subtract shifts and lines at each plant, undermining workers’ bargaining power across borders. The UAW wants to restrain capital mobility and increase its bargaining power when auto bosses threaten to offshore jobs and establish runaway shops abroad. But it is trying to do this not by coordinating with other unions abroad, but by erecting trade barriers to compel the companies to reshore jobs in the U.S. The UAW argues that tariffs could force the U.S. auto industry to bring back jobs from Mexico and Canada, though the union isn’t explicit about job losses to Canada’s unionized autoworkers. But if Mexican workers make on average $3 an hour, would a 25 percent tariff be enough incentive for auto companies to stop producing in Mexico? What about the savings they get from manufacturing in Canada, with its weaker currency and comprehensive national health insurance? Then there’s question of how deeply integrated auto industry is globally... When [UAW President Shawn] Fain says, “If the Big Three alone just got their currently active plants up to 100 percent capacity, they could add 50,000 jobs,” the conversation has shifted to a zero-sum calculus. Without an increase in car sales—a dim prospect with the world economy tipping into recession—Fain’s statement is tantamount to “take their jobs and give them to us.”... The well-being of U.S. autoworkers cannot come at the expense of workers in Canada and Mexico, as well as those in Asia or anywhere else... Sam Gindin, the former research director of the Canadian Auto Workers, argues that tariffs are a diversion from the fight for everything from “universal health care and inadequate access to higher education and affordable housing to the refusal to make unionization a substantive democratic right.” Gindin writes, “Trade matters, but the antagonistic and substantively undemocratic domestic impact of corporate and government decisions matters more.”...

re: "outlawing AI"
i am reposting this because people couldn't behave themselves on the original one. this is a benevolent dictatorship and if you can't behave yourselves here i'll shut off reblogs again. thank you.
the thing i think a lot of people have trouble understanding is that "ai" as we know it isn't a circuitboard or a computer part or an invention - it's a discovery, like calculus or chemistry. the genie *can't* be re-corked because it'd be like trying to "cork" the concept of, say, trigonometry. you can't "un-invent" it.
even if you managed to somehow completely outlaw the performance of the kinds of linear algebra required for ML, and outlawed the data collection necessary, and sure, managed to get style copyrighted, you can't un-discover the underlying mathematical facts. people will just do it in mexico instead. it'd be like trying to outlaw guns by trying to get people to forget that you can ignite a mixture of powders in a small metal barrel to propel things very fast. or trying to outlaw fire by threatening to take away everyone's sticks.
the battleground is already here. technofascists and bad actors without your ethical constraints are drawing the lines and flooding the zone with propaganda & slop, and you’re wasting time insisting to your enemies that it’s unfair you’re being asked to fight with guns when you’d rather use sticks.
as a wise sock puppet once said; "this isn't about you. so either get with it, or get out of the fucking way"
-----
Attempts to prohibit AI "training" misunderstand what is being prohibited. To ban the development of AI models is, in effect, to ban the performance of linear algebra on large datasets. It is to outlaw a way of knowing. This is not regulation - it is epistemological reactionary-ism. reactionism? whatever
Even if prohibition were successful in one nation-state:
Corporations would relocate to jurisdictions with looser controls - China, UAE, Japan, Singapore, etc.
APIs would remain accessible, just more expensive and less accountable. What, are you gonna start blocking VPNs from connecting to any country with AI allowed? Good luck.
Research would continue outside the oversight of the very publics most concerned about ethical constraints.
This isn’t speculation. This is exactly what happened with stem cells in the early 2000s. When the U.S. government restricted federal funding, stem cell research didn’t vanish, it just moved and then kept happening until people stopped caring.
The fantasy that a domestic ban could meaningfully halt or reverse the development of a globally distributed method is a fantasy of epistemic sovereignty - the idea that knowledge can be territorially contained and that the moral preferences of one polity can shape the world through sheer force of will.
But the only way such containment could succeed would be through:
Total international consensus (YEAH RIGHT), and
Total enforcement across all borders, black markets, and academic institutions, at the barrel of a gun - otherwise, what is backing up your enforcement? Promises and friendly handshakes?
This is not internationalism. It is imperialist utopianism. And like most utopian projects built on coercion, it will fail - at the cost of handing control to precisely the actors most willing to exploit it.
Liberal moralism often derides socialist or communist futures as "unrealistic.", as you can see in the absurd, hyperbolically, pants-shittingly mad reaction to Alex Avila's video. Yet the belief that machine learning can be outlawed globally - a method of performing mathematics that is already published, archived, and disseminated across open academic networks the globe over - is far more implausible. literally how do you plan on doing that? enforcing it?
The choice is not between AI and no AI. The choice is between AI in the service of capital, extraction, and domination, or AI developed under conditions of public ownership, democratic control, and epistemic openness. You get to pick.
The genie and the bottle are not even in the same planet. The bottle's gone, Will.

astrology observations
note: take what resonates, these are only based on my own observations.
i have noticed that gemini, aquarius, and sagittarius placements in the big 6 makes a person easygoing. on the other hand, capricorn, scorpio, and aries placements in the big 6 makes a person intense.
when a person's planets are evenly distributed in their birth chart, they are usually adaptable and have friends from different backgrounds. these people are the ones that do not have any stellium, meaning that their energy is not clumped in one area, thus may be more accommodating wit different types of people and more accepting of situations.
people with the sun in the 10th house usually have big ambitions, if not, they are usually popular no matter how introverted they are. there will always be people that knows bits of information about them. the 10th house is your reputation, public image, and career, and the sun is your core and ego. having it in the house of public image may make you feel like people's eyes are constantly on you.
i have a friend with a second house stellium, and my father has some taurus placements. i have noticed that they have high standards and love branded and luxury items, no matter how expensive.
moon in the 12th house makes an individual unaware of their own feelings. if you are familiar with MBTI, these people are INTP and ISTP. it takes some time for them to process what they are really feeling. it is because the 12th house is the subconscious, and the moon is how we process our emotions.
scorpio moons are the most mysterious than any other scorpio placements. they are secretive with their emotions and find it hard to open up. when unhealthy, these people are usually great manipulators of a situation, and it is doubled when they have some virgo placements in their big 6.
do you have the moon in the 7th house? do you crave interaction and validation from people? I have this placement, and no matter how hard i try to deny it, I get more energy and assurance when i interact with people.
when people with mars in gemini gets angry, brace yourselves. since gemini is ruled by the planet mercury, which is all about ideas and communication and mars is a planet of desire, drive, and passion, these people have words that can stab your heart because they can be hurtful when triggered.
mercury square pluto in the natal chart makes an individual prone to overthinking. mercury is all about ideas, pluto is about transformation and intensity. since squares generate tension, the native may have unhealthy thinking patterns. the good side here is this placement is good for detectives since the native is always intense and curious, which means that they do not stop until they uncover the truth or find the answers to their questions.
when talking about love languages, i have noticed that too many fire placements in the big 6 are physical touch, earth placements are gifts and acts of service, air placements are quality time, and water placements are words of affirmation.
saturn in the 4th house people usually have difficulty in expressing affection. also, these people may feel restricted in their homes. they were not given an outlet to express their own baggage as their family may neglected their feelings. on the good side, these people are usually matured, responsible, and know how to navigate a situation.
sun square moon in the natal chart makes a person confused by their own identity. i have this placement, and in my case, it takes a lot for me to know who i am. sun is your core, the one that you show to the public. the moon is your inner world and emotions, which means that the one that you feel or the real you usually conflicts with the one that you show to the public eye.

He saw it laid out on the bed that morning and froze in the doorway, a slow smirk crawling across his face before it dropped into something darker.
“You wear that tonight, I swear to God.”
She turned, hand on her hip. “What? It looks good.”
“It looks like you’re trying to get punished.”
She smiled. “Maybe I am.”
He stepped closer, eyes raking down her body. “Try it if you want to.”
He said it with a grin, gold grills flashing in the hotel lighting, but there was weight behind the words. A promise. A threat.
She wore it anyway.
By the time they hit the red carpet, he had his hand was on her ass, tucked low like it was casual. Like no one would notice.
But they did. Everyone did.
Photographers? Ate it up. The crew? Pretended to be shocked. His co-star Wunmi clocked her instantly. Hailee barely glanced before giving Michael a pointed look. “Y’all gonna make it through the night?” She asked with a smirk.
“Barely,” she said, cheeks already burning.
The girls exchanged a look. Hailee whispered just loud enough for her to hear: “Girl, he’s obsessed. Like rabid. That man has not blinked since you walked in.”
“I know,” she said under her breath, trying not to shiver. “I can feel it.”
Michael was standing feet away but looked like he was on the verge of dragging her into a wall. His jaw clenched when she laughed too loud. His fists curled when at his sides when he had to step away from her for a photo.
During the cast shot, he stared down at her silhouette. Gripped the back of her waist like a warning. Licked his lips when she shifted. “Stop bein’ nasty,” Jayme muttered through a clenched smile, catching him in the act.
He just smirked. Didn’t even try to deny it.
During the couple photo-op, reporters and photographers asked who he was wearing. He mumbled through the answer. Because all he could focus on was her hand around his waist. Her fingers slipping low when they weren’t looking. The way her perfume hit him in waves.
“You trying to fuckin’ test me?” he growled in her ear between shots.
“I’m just standing here.”
“You’re pressing your thighs together like you want me to fuck you through this carpet.”
She didn’t reply. Just smiled sweetly for the cameras and dragged her nails down his spine as they walked away.
He blinked hard like trying to shake it off. But it didn’t work.
The afterparty was loud. Champagne-slicked. Full of industry names and fake grins. Michael tried. Toasted. Chatted with Jack and Ryan. Talked distribution with producers. He kept it together for thirty minutes.
But the second she stepped into the room again, laughing with Wunmi, the hem of that red dress riding higher with every step?
It was over.
He didn’t even excuse himself. Just walked.
Straight to her. Through the crowd. Cupped her jaw in front of everyone. Kissed her cheek. Bit her ear. “You don’t fuckin’ listen,” he growled to her.
“Hmm?”
“You think I didn’t feel your nails on my back?”
“Maybe you imagined it.”
He smiled like a threat. “No, baby. What I am imagining is dragging you into that fuckin’ bathroom and making you scream my name until the mirrors fog.”
“I thought you said you were gonna behave?”
“Mm. Never agreed to that. But I am gonna ruin you. That’s a guarantee.”
She met his gaze head-on, fingers curling into the lapel of his jacket. “Make it quick.”
He barely got the bathroom door shut.
Mouth on hers. Hands clawing the dress up. Tongue licking into her like he couldn’t breathe without her taste. His body pressed hers against the tile wall.
“You fuckin’ tease,” he snarled, biting her jaw. “Walking around in this dress. Laughing. Touching me.”
She moaned. “What are you gonna do about it?”
He grabbed the back of her neck and spun her toward the mirror. Bent her over the sink so fast her heel slipped.
“This what you wanted?”
“Yes.”
“Louder.”
“Yes, Michael.”
He pushed her panties aside and slid in hard. No warning. No patience.
She nearly collapsed.
He gripped her hips, snapped his hips forward. Rough. Vicious. The mirror shook with each thrust.
“Keep that same fuckin’ energy,” he panted. “You wanna act like a brat in public, I’ll treat you like one in private.”
“Michael—”
He grabbed her hair, yanked her up against his chest, one hand at her throat.
“You fuckin’ love this. Say it.”
“I do. I fucking love it.”
He growled and buried his face in her neck. Thrusting deeper. Meaner. Until her whole body was quivering.
She came hard, shaking in his grip, and he didn’t stop. Just chased his own release with a hiss, coming so hard he went still for a moment, breathing ragged.
When they stepped out, she looked wrecked.
Lipstick smeared. Hair askew. Dress creased.
Hailee handed her a drink with a grin. “Don’t even lie. I timed you.”
Wunmi raised her brows. “Was it as filthy as it looked?”
She took a sip, voice hoarse. “Worse.”
Michael walked out like nothing happened. Except for the sweat on his brow. And the wild look in his eye. And the fact that he gripped her hand like he’d murder anyone who even looked.
Then the DJ dropped something low. Horns, bass, heat. He turned to her. “Dance with me.”
“I need a second—”
He pulled her close. “You’ve had long enough.”
He spun her. Pulled her back. Ground against her like they were alone.
“You think this shit is funny. Driving me insane.”
“Maybe.”
“Wearing that fuckin’ dress. Making me act out. Making me want to fuck you on a speaker.”
She rolled her hips again.
He groaned. “Car. Now.”
“Michael—”
“I said now. Get your purse.”
He dragged her to the lot, slammed the car door shut, shoved coats aside, and pulled her onto his lap.
“Can’t make it home. Not when you’re lookin’ like this. Drippin’ for me.”
She gasped as he slid her panties to the side again, rubbing slow circles against her until she couldn’t think.
“You ever embarrass me like that again,” he growled, “I’ll make you cum in the fuckin’ elevator. Say you won’t.”
“I won’t.”
“Liar.”
He shoved into her, made her scream.
And did it all again at home.
When he carried her through the door, she clung to him.
“You trying to break me?”
“I haven’t even started.”
“Same dress tomorrow?”
“You better hope you can walk.”
She laughed. Then moaned when he kissed her again.
He didn’t stop until sunrise.
And even then, he whispered, “Still not finished.”

Could you do something about the Blue Lock Boys with a girlfriend who practices a sport like Muay Thai or boxing professionally and is quite famous for dragging her opponents? 💘
“𝐊𝐎: 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝”
Tumblr media
a/n: get em girl boss
ft. itoshi rin, itoshi sae, isagi yoichi, nagi seishiro, mikage reo, kaiser michael, karasu tabito, bachira meguru, shidou ryusei
itoshi rin
silently obsessed. he never says anything, but you catch him rewinding your fight clips with laser focus like he’s decoding national secrets.
“your weight distribution was off by 3% in round two.” bro how do you even know that?
secretly has your “top 10 verbal takedowns” saved to his phone. watches them when he needs cheering up.
he’s not impressed when you trash talk. he’s turned on.
you call someone “a wet mop with delusions” and he just raises an eyebrow like, hot.
refuses to sit in the VIP section, instead sits in the back so no one sees how fast he’s clapping when you land a KO.
“that punch was sloppy.” five minutes later in private: “... you looked good though.”
itoshi sae
you could be dragging your opponent across the ring by their hair and sae would still be in the front row sipping iced coffee like it’s a spa day.
literally unfazed. she’s choking someone? cool. what’s for dinner?
sometimes you don’t even notice he’s there until he shows up behind you post-match like, “hey. you’re bleeding. want tacos?”
thinks your trash talk is theatrical brilliance.
“she said ‘i’m gonna turn you into a cautionary tale’ and then actually did. love that for her.”
got banned from interviews because he kept answering on your behalf. “how do you feel about the win?” “she’s hungry. move.”
you're punching people, he's posting “date night ❤️” selfies.
isagi yoichi
isagi fell for your smile. the public fell for your fists.
he watches your matches like he’s witnessing a crime. jaw clenched, eyes wide, muttering prayers like a soccer mom watching an MMA bloodbath.
you’re standing over your KO’d opponent, shouting, “tell your coach to pick better fighters,” and he’s clapping like “yay baby good sportsmanship 👍”
pre-fight: “good luck, you got this ❤️”
post-fight: googling how to hide a body because you just ended someone's career.
once tried to “trash talk” your rival to hype you up and said, “you’re gonna get dropped so hard, your sponsors are gonna ghost you. better hope your wifi connection is stronger than your jaw.”
kisses your bruised knuckles gently like you’re a porcelain doll, not the reason three people retired early.
nagi seishiro
doesn’t understand anything about boxing but calls you “champ” with his whole chest.
falls asleep watching your replays. wakes up like, “oh nice punch babe.”
once live-tweeted your match with absolutely zero context: “she kicked someone. she’s mad. i want a sandwich.”
wore your merch to your match, but accidentally put it on backwards.
lets you practice moves on him but flops like a ragdoll after one jab. “ugh too hard. let me lay here. i’m your emotional support floor.”
told the team your pre-fight stare “felt like being hunted by a hot panther.”
thinks your trash talk is poetry. “you said she hits like a toddler with pool noodles? iconic.”
mikage reo
you’re the fists, he’s the PR team. this man markets your violence like a startup.
“she punches, she profits, she slays. watch the brand grow.”
always wearing your custom gloves around his neck like a necklace. people think he boxes, too. he does not.
posts ringside selfies with captions like: “date night 🥰✨ (she sent someone to the ER xoxo)”
gets personally offended when your opponent breathes in your direction.
“did she just look at you funny? okay, but WHO gave her that right.”
hands out business cards that say “a maneater’s boyfriend 💋”
has your catchphrases trademarked. yes, even the one where you threatened to turn someone’s ribs into origami.
kaiser michael
somehow thinks your fights are about him.
“she wins because she’s inspired by my greatness.” kaiser pls.
stands ringside with his arms crossed and a smirk like he’s the final boss of the match.
you said “i’m gonna fold her like a beach chair” and he printed it on a hoodie. wears it proudly.
reporters: “kaiser, are you afraid of your girlfriend’s aggression?”
kaiser: “afraid? i fuel it.”
makes you couple’s merch that says “she hits / he hollas”
once kissed you mid-match. literally interrupted the referee. said it was “good luck.” you still won.
karasu tabito
you flame someone during weigh-ins and he’s behind you whispering, “YEAH. GET HER ASS.”
follows your rival’s private account on twitter just to “hate more efficiently.”
“i’m not petty. i’m supportive.”
once shouted “THAT’S MY GIRLFRIEND!!!” when you dislocated someone’s shoulder.
analyzes your fights like a reality show. “did you see her face when you landed that hook? chef’s kiss.”
lets you demonstrate chokeholds on him just so he can say, “yeah, she does this to me at home, too.”
acts scared around you for fun. “i told her i forgot to do the dishes and she did a spinning elbow. i think i blacked out. she’s so cute.”
bachira meguru
paints your face on a flag. brings it to every match.
screams “GET HER, BABE! TURN HER INTO A HUMAN PRETZEL!!” from the sidelines.
once tried to jump into the ring mid-fight because “your foot looked lonely. i wanted to help.”
you: death glares your opponent pre-match.
bachira: “aw she’s so pretty when she’s homicidal 🥰”
makes you fan edits that go viral.
also made one of your KO punches into a meme template. it’s now used in sports arguments across the internet.
your opponent: “you suck.”
bachira, holding up a glitter sign: “say that again but louder so everyone can hear my girlfriend crack your jaw.”
shidou ryusei
lives for the chaos. you throw one punch and he’s tearing his shirt off in the stands.
“THAT’S MY GIRL!!! KICK HER IN THE TEETH!!!”
got banned from five venues for excessive screaming. wears it like a badge of honor.
tried to propose mid-fight once. while you were punching someone.
rewatches your KO clips with suspicious enthusiasm. “look at that form. look at that power. i’m so in love with her violence.”
also calls you pet names like “bloodthirsty babe” and “my precious little war crime.”
100% believes you could take him in a fight. wants you to prove it.

Your Midheaven sign represents your reputation and what you’re known for. The planet(s) conjunct your midheaven add another layer to how the public perceives you. How do people view you based on planets near your Midheaven? Let’s find out.
Tumblr media
Sun conjunct MC ☀️
Your identity and who you are is on display to the public. This is a fame placement. Many people know your name, who you are and what you do professionally. Your presence in the public eye is authoritative. You naturally gain respect from the public without trying. You are undisputed as the best at what you do. You are seen as peerless. Your status makes people jealous of you and want your position in life. You belong in the public eye.
Moon conjunct MC ☁️
Your soft side is on display to the public. People recognize you for your feminine energy. You seem soft and sweet to the public. To me this placement shows someone who is good at manipulating the public. People see your innocence and charm which make them like you a lot. You are naturally seen in a pleasant way.
Mercury conjunct MC ✏️
Can guide, direct, and influence the masses through speech. Good public speaker. Tends to be seen as “relatable” to the masses. People hang on to every word you say. Makes people laugh effortlessly. Comedian-like energy. The public perceives you to be knowledgeable and charming. The public knows you for what you vocalize.
Venus conjunct MC 🍭
Pretty privilege personified. Everyone finds you beautiful. Lowkey one of the best places to have Venus. Since Venusian energy is blessing your reputation, people see you as likable, beautiful and pleasant. You become a source of pleasure to people. People love watching what you do. This placement is great for tv or being in the media, people love watching you on their screens. Marilyn Monroe had this placement.
Mars conjunct MC ☄️
You’re seen as an agitator to the public. You cause varying reactions amongst people. They love you, they hate you, they talk about you. Either way you cause quite a stir without much effort. You can experience not being treated nicely by the public at some point in your life. Mars is war & combat, which shapes the themes of your reputation. So you are known to be in public feuds, or people are mad at you just for existing. You don’t back down easily though, you’re seen as a fighter. You’re seen as powerful and tenacious. These natives I noticed kind get hated on for no good reason? Maybe it’s because you’re a s3x symbol. The public sees you as someone who is physically appealing. They hate you bc you’re sexy.
Tumblr media
Jupiter conjunct MC 👑
Jupiter expands and amplifies your reputation in a positive way. This makes you known by many people, to the point of being “famous”. This is a placement where you don’t actually have to put much work into being famous, it just happens for you easily. The public sees you as victorious in most situations. You always come out on top. You’re seen as a very lucky person, and you are. The public sees you in a wholesome and favorable way, you are well liked, well known and popular. Whatever you want to happen in your career, zaddy Jupiter makes it happen. You’re destined to be successful in a big way and nobody can stop that. If Santa Claus was a real person, he’d have this placement in his chart.
Saturn conjunct MC 🪐
You are seen as an authority figure. People know not to question you or undermine you. You are seen as someone to have all the knowledge, and distribute it accordingly. You seem older than you are to the public, due to your authoritative disposition and wisdom you have. The public recognizes your authenticity and straightforwardness. Once your reputation is built, it’s permanent and unmovable. Your reputation is long lasting and even precedes you after death.

Your known as a game-changer to the public. Something about you is just different from anyone else. You’re uniqueness and quirks are on display to the world. You are a pioneer and someone who questions tradition. You’re seen as someone who pushes society forward. What you do is perceived as futuristic. You are recognized as 1 of 1.
South Node (Ketu) conjunct MC 🕷
This placement makes the public confused about you. People know who you are, but do they really? You’re mysterious. All your past life karma is activated here, in pertinence to your public image. So alot of stuff that happens to you publicly is just destined to happen and you yourself can’t even stop it. The fact that you have disinterest with fame or notoriety make people want to know more about you. You’re an enigma.
Tumblr media
Pluto conjunct MC 🌪
You’re seen as powerful and mysterious to the public. You seemingly yield some sort of power no one else has. You trigger obsession in other people. Your transformations are on display to the public. You’re this dominant force that can overpower anyone and everyone. You seem intimidating without trying to be. You’re seen as strong and competent. People are always talking about you, especially when you’re not around. The public wants what you have, your power is enviable. Celebs with this placement have a cult like following.
Neptune conjunct MC 🌀
You seem mysterious, magical and enchanting to the public. Something about you is seductive and enticing. You’re enigmatic. People always want to know more about you, but usually never get the satisfaction of actually knowing you. They know an illusion of you, but who are you really? You’re a puzzle in the public’s mind. You are seen as a fantasy that no one can grasp. You’re beauty and aura seems otherworldly.
Uranus conjunct MC 💥
You are seen as a game changer to the public. You disrupt the landscape of the industry you’re in, which facilitates positive change to happen. People never see you coming, yet you leave a big impact with your actions. People don’t like change, but they need it, and you’re the one to bring it. You are perceived as unpredictable and unorthodox. Things you do often have a profound sense of shock value to it. People with this placement post on socials and others see it and are like *jaw drops* “did you see what ___ posted?!!🤯”. You could have a few viral moments because of this. Since Uranus relates to electricity, word about you travels fast and far. The impacts you have on others is “electric”.
