He-man.org will close in 5 days.
He-man.org has been a staple of the Masters of the Universe community since the early days, originating as an email list that worked to document episodes before anything (not footage, not lists, nothing) was available online. It grew into a sprawling, multi-faceted beast of a thing, including an encyclopedia (an in-house wiki), merch lists, a marketplace, forums, anything you could think of.
Several years ago now, the main site went down for updates/maintenance. For a few weeks, we were told, maybe months. The forums remained open for fans to communicate, and barring a period of downtime earlier this year things were going smoothly.
Yesterday, the owner of the site, Val Staples, announced the site would be closed on November 14th, 2023. Six days later. We are currently attempting to contact him, to see if he’s interested in selling, and if he means closed as in “no new posts” or closed as in deleted entirely. Regardless of its eventual fate, the archiving of these forums is essential to preserving the history of the franchise, the fandom, and the brand.
Tumblr media
TO SHE-RA (and MotU) FANS SPECIFICALLY: I have personally used these forums to answer questions that could be answered nowhere else. Had I not had access to them, I would never have been able to prove that Purrsia was fake, or found so much unpublished concept art, or discovered that Scott “Toyguru” Neitlich personally wrote Catra’s MOTUC bio (even if he’s put off answering my questions about it for over a year now). Forum members have conducted interviews with the likes of Jon Seisa, Cathy Larson, Janice Varney-Hamlin—essential figures in the very foundations of POP, and those interviews revealed and recorded priceless information for future generations (me! you! us!) to find. Did you know Cathy Larson named Adora? That she originally pushed for “Dorian”, after her own daughter? We cannot let this treasure trove disappear into the ether(ia).
TO THE UNAFFILIATED: Please help. Pretty please. If you’ve ever liked my art or my writing or my haphazard blogging, ever, at all, consider archiving just one board. Just one page. Literally anything helps. I am spiraling into madness & this is my library of Alexandria. The mythical one that was totally unique and persevered nowhere else and was destroyed in a single cataclysmic event. Pretty pretty please help.
HOW TO HELP:
Archive.org has several ways to upload shit but most of them are longer term than “a few days” so we’re focusing on two (which can be run simultaneously): Save Page Now, and browser extensions. From their help page:
1. Save Page Now
Put a URL into the form, press the button, and we save the page. You will instantly have a permanent URL for your page. Please note, this method only saves a single page, not the whole site.
Tumblr media
We want to keep outlinks and screenshots wherever possible. The Archive does not keep your IP address, so your submission is anonymous.
2. Browser extensions and add-ons
Install the Wayback Machine Chrome extension in your browser. Go to a page you want to archive, click the icon in your toolbar, and select Save Page Now. We will save the page and give you a permanent URL.
Tumblr media
One plus to installing the extension is that as you surf around, when you run into a missing page they will alert you if we have a saved copy.
More extensions, apps, and add-ons:
Firefox add-on
Safari Extension
iOS app
Android app
I strongly encourage you to use these tools even if you aren’t helping with this project/after it ends. Documenting and preserving information is essential in this day and age & The Internet Archive is at the heart of it. Please support them however you can.
I’m serious about paying you, though I may need more communication with folks I don’t know so we can coordinate/verify shit gets done. I think this is a worthwhile pursuit in itself but I recognize your time is valuable & like, people gotta eat. DM me if you’re interested and we’ll talk. I may need to adjust pay depending how many people bite but I’ll do what I can

Terror Camp is hiring!
We are looking to expand our volunteer staff for this year’s conference.
We have two job listings based on our current needs, but if we receive a lot of great applicants there is the possibility we’ll split up these responsibilities into 3 or even 4 separate positions.
Terror Camp is a fully volunteer, remote, asynchronous workplace (with occasional sync meetings as schedules permit). We communicate over Discord and organize our documentation over Notion and Google Drive.
We are looking for people who can devote up to a few hours a week, depending on the time of year. Commitment increases around the times of Submission Opening (June 1), Submission Closing/Acceptances (September 1-Oct 1) and the conference itself (early December).
Terror Camp looks great on your resume. You can say that you volunteer for a successful community-led online history & heritage conference with an audience in the thousands!
You don’t need to match the job descriptions perfectly in order to apply. If your experience doesn’t match up but you think you’d still be good at the job, please apply anyway!
Here are the positions we're looking to fill:
🎨 Designer 🎨

Be an proactive team member with strong communication skills, able to quickly and regularly deliver new graphics for promotional use on social media and in email marketing
Help design an evergreen/permanent collection of merchandise as well as a limited-edition collection for this year’s conference
Assist our Webmaster in revising our website & email marketing templates to fully match new brand identity and meet best practices for UX
Potentially work on print layout for a Terror Camp book or zine (TBD)
This job would be a good fit if you:
Work or have worked professionally or semi-professionally as a graphic designer; or are a hobbyist designer with a standout portfolio
Have experience working with both digital and print assets
Have a working knowledge of web design best practices and HTML/CSS
Have experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva (but not ONLY Canva, sorry) and Wix or similar WYSIWYG ESP/site builder
The Designer will report to our Assistant Director/Webmaster, & will also collaborate closely with our Marketing Lead on graphic assets for social media and with our Merch Lead on preparing designs for print.
To apply, please fill out this form.

Respond promptly to inquiries including:

Requests to join the Discord
Questions about schedule, programming, submissions, guests, and other conference topics
Catch inbounds to social media inboxes (Tumblr, X, Bluesky, Insta) & answer or redirect to email as appropriate
Act as coordinator/assistant for Marketing Lead, with responsibilities including:
Scheduling pre-written content
Assisting with ideating and drafting content, proposing content ideas
Cross-posting content to multiple platforms
Consistently and frequently engaging with social audiences (finding content to repost, replying to people, etc)
This job would be a good fit if you:

Beta Expectations and Our Development Goals
Hi everyone! This document serves as an outline for starting expectations when beginning Closed Beta.
Things to remember as we move into Closed Beta are:
Cursing is allowed! We’ve dialed back our filters quite a bit, but absolutely no innuendo or sexual content. Details are outlined in our TOS.
In this beginning, the application feels closer to the Alpha state than it does the full game. It is in a mid-development limbo, which is why we are stressing that it is the Closed Beta state. Our biggest milestones have been backend technical foundations that have taken significant time. If the game were a cake, we have finished baking the base, which is what we’re starting the testing for. We’ll be making aggressive updates throughout the next few months of the test, which will introduce the “frosting,” and advance general playability. We plan to roll out new mechanics every month. You will find a list below of what these goals are.
Temper your starting expectations, but get excited for how much we’re going to continuously develop and update!
We will not be moving into Open Beta until we feel the game is close to done. Think of Closed Beta as phase 1, and Open Beta as phase 2.
Things will break the moment you try them. This is normal and expected. Always report!
Because of this, things won’t be very fun yet. But as we roll out improvements and new things, users will get to give live feedback on what they want to see and how things feel.
Early Access will be less smooth than full Closed Beta as we detect the kinks of letting more people in en masse. It’s the nature of early launching. Brace yourselves!
In the same vein, several aspects are temporary. Topher takes the place of icons in the queue, and compromises we’ve made for early economic simulation (example: a placeholder merchant to simulate the Processing mechanic) will be barren. NPCs are sketches, UI colors may be temporary, and UI banners are sketches.
Any and all prices of items or features are temporary or subject to change. Things like the price of kit rolling or accessory items will be tooled.
All updates and communications with testers will be posted publicly instead of through email. Eventually, we’ll use the site forums, but not until we can guarantee no more content wipes, and we’ve developed the sticky system on the User Dashboard.
Everything in this test, minus your username, password, account ID, and purchases is temporary. Your account content will be erased at some point in time, and when it is your Kickstarter and Alpha reward codes will be re-activated for use.
If anything is broken about your code, please report! We’ll fix it!
Any premium purchases you make will be restored upon wipes, and exist in this state as a means to support us moreso than to stimulate longterm collecting. By purchasing any currency, you’re helping us develop! But please do not feel pressured!
Bundles will be added come the full Closed Beta.
Pelt submissions are open for user testing, but you’ll have to re-submit upon any wipes.
When you complete registration (entering your DOB and confirming agreement to the TOS), your founder and follower IDs will be reserved, so you can take your time going over the details.
These starting cats will be wiped completely, and when Open Beta begins, follower and founder IDs will be totally up for grabs again upon first-come first-serve login and confirmation.
We’ll be around to grind for the next two weeks. Then, in two weeks, there will be a bit of a lull as our developers take a breather and regroup, and we’ll be back in March. We’re making this plan known so it doesn’t look like an abandonment or nervous silence. We’re simply planning rest and pacing ahead of time!
We’ll be sending out periodic surveys to get honest criticism and check how the economy is feeling.
The first survey is ready and waiting for your input! This survey focuses specifically on the economy, and can be filled out once per day. Please do not feel pressured to do so every day, but we encourage you to respond as many times as possible. Your input is immeasurably valuable for the fine-tuning of our economy, and guaranteeing the long-term enjoyability of the site. Please find the survey here.
With over 700 items on this site, we may have missed necessary data entry for some as we learn the ins and outs of our own program. Always report and we’ll fix it!
Some accessories are in the re-coloring queue, and if so will have their recolors seeded into the economy as we finish them.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint. We’re ready to hit the ground running, but it will be a long journey. We’re excited to embark on it together!
Here is a list of things available from the get-go (hopefully useable, if not they will be!):
Cooking and Crafting
Daily Duties
Flea Market and Merchants
Breeding
Dress up and general cat customization
Beta retirement (bare bones)
Cat relationships and cross-cat gift giving
Archetype discovery (we are adding new ones as you play!)
Forum posting and custom board creation (image hosting!)
Cat profile CSS boxes
User profile CSS boxes
Storage and stash functionality for item organization
Bank functionality for currency storage
User customization settings (icon selection, pronoun and slogan editing, Borough swapping, username swapping)
Crest application
Beta guild play (basic errands)
Multiplayer guilds
Incense and metamorphic functionality
Pelt submissions (the refined pelt rules are a work in progress, because for this chaotic testing phase we’d like everyone to go nuts and have some fun! The only steadfast rules are no gore, copyrighted materials, religious iconography, or sexual content!)
Friend requests and adding friends
Premium shop (intended for user support, benefits are bare for at least the next week or so while we focus on user bug reports)
Now without further ado… here is what we’ll be working on in the coming months, in order of general priority! Open Beta will not happen until we finish this list.
Replacing frontend assets with final renders.
Updating item cards to reflect dynamic button displays depending on the page in which the card is being viewed.
User report system for all user-ran content.
Wardrobe functionality; full sandbox dress up available to any visitor.
Infrastructure for sharing sandbox creations in comments and forum posts; text language like :catID: to paste an image link of a cat.
User to user DM functionality.
User to user private trading.
Item database and lore encyclopedia.
Processing functionality + dye system. For now, recolors are seeded in a temporary merchant.
Visual faunapedia record for fauna studying (including unlockable lore.)
Adding a slew of archetypes. Dedicated archetype collection page with user featured display.
Sitewide search functionality of all user content.
Aesthetic updates to comments + addition of comments onto cat pages.
Splitting the Undercoat into two patterns: Dilute (dynamically lightened) and Standard.
Adding a white patch selector into the creator and founder designer.
Dashboard refinement + forum news widget and stickies.
Splitting cooking and crafting to bring back Winnipeg and keep the mechanics more organized.
Farming.
Much of it has been started already, and we’ll continue to share our progress. We plan to stay in Closed Beta likely over the summer, but it will be as long as these developments take.
And then we will move into Open Beta! Where we can focus on the following:
User notebook entries (blog posts.)
Forum board updates to better accommodate posting
Sitewide tagging and filtering.
Cross-account breeding.
Dedicated Guild refinement and updates.
Achievement system.
Referral system.
Team features like a team hoard, team notes, and shared scenes.
Refinement of any feature feedback we get :)
And from there… it’s full launch, baby!
Again, a marathon, not a sprint. This list may seem long and arduous, but we’ll continue visual content updates (patterns, breeds, etc.) throughout the length of development.
Let’s get crackin’, catfolk!

the 2025 development cycle, a williams front wing, and a prancing horse with broken legs: how sauber achieved a fifth position in barcelona
it is--to my surprise too--that time of the season again. after the review I wrote of the australian gp I was waiting for something substantial enough to be worth looking into in-depth, and barcelona delivered. this weekend was marked by discussions about the technical directive regarding flexible front wings, but everyone's eyes were on mclaren.
in reality, a lot of teams had moved away from the flexible front wings before barcelona, if they even brought them to this season at all. ferrari and aston martin have been moving towards the new regulations all season and only brought the final update to conform to the new regulations at barcelona. mercedes, alpine and mclaren brought no changes at all either to the entire car or to the front wing; they finished adjusting to the new regulations before they went into effect. red bull racing, haas, vcarb and williams were the only teams to bring significant updates to the front wing in response to the new regulations, which is reflected in the finishing order of this grand prix. out of the eight drivers of those teams, only three finished within the points, in 7th for vcarb's hadjar, 8th for alpine's gasly, and 10th for rbr's verstappen. (I don't have one singular source to link to for the upgrades and what I'll be summarizing about them below, but you can go through the season's upgrades for each grand prix if you want to check for yourself. it's the "car presentation submission" document of each weekend on the fia's official decision document site.)
sauber never had a flexible front wing (to the degree that it would be non conformative with the new TD), thus, the technical directive did not affect them; there were no changes to the development cycle, no phasing out, no final hits to take at barcelona. the focus could comfortably lie on improving the car's deficits without needing to make adjustments because of regulations.
in comparison, it seems that williams did not take a phasing out approach, and instead chose to change the front wing at once when required. it wasn't completely clear to me what haas have been doing, but if they have been phasing the flexi wings out, it was done very minimally, with most of the hit still being taken at spain. the cars in the red bull family also seem to have all gone without significant front wing changes throughout the season in order to make the transition to the new directive easier.
as the sauber is (supposed to be) a midfield car, its direct competition lies in in the haas, the alpines, the vcarbs, the astons and the williams. in previous races it was williams dominating the midfield, likely in part due to their very strong front wing set-up. mclaren's dominance at the end of the 2024 season has been ascribed to their flexible front wings; similarly, I think william's dominance at the start of the 2025 season may be the result of the same. but I am not as familiar with the williams car, and this is speculative from my end, so take it with a grain of salt.
because of the teams respective approaches to the new regulations, haas, vcarb and williams were taken almost completely out of the equation. aston martin only fielded one car, further opening the midfield. all of this leaves space for cars that are not in the points as regularly to get up there.
apart from that, there are two key things that allowed car 27 to finish as high up as it did: the upgrade package, and the tyre(/strategy) advantage.
it was previously revealed that the sauber car was unable to overtake) (and by extension unable to defend). that is to say it would lose significant amount of downforce when getting too close to another car on track. it was a race car not built to race. sauber's upgrade package for barcelona brought a completely new floor, from scratch, changes to the sidepods, and small changes to the front wing to work with this new floor. all of these were with the aim of allowing the car to overtake, which worked. this is why we could see nico make up five places in the opening lap, for example--because he did not lose so much speed he was basically dead weight simply for being within the opening lap crowd. gabi also managed to hold on to his 12th qualified spot and not drop down the order.
barcelona is a track that wears tyres quickly while still not favouring the c1 hard compound tyres due to not producing enough grip for the higher speed corners of the track, and even one lap can make a significant difference in tyre performance. like many nico was on a soft-medium-soft strategy, but nico had three new sets of softs available for the race by nature of not making it out of q1. in comparison, gabi only had one set, and lewis hamilton had none at all. this, together with pitting later than hamilton, gave nico the tyre advantage for his overtake, and at the time of the overtake during the penultimate lap, nico was lapping 1.6s faster than car 44.
Tumblr media
clearly the sauber was in a good position for barcelona, both upgrade wise and by the nature of the track favouring drivers that did not need to use up all of their designated tyre sets for qualifying. but is it enough for p5?
well, probably not. all of this has left out max verstappen's penalty which gave nico a one spot promotion; the safety car that allowed nico to catch lewis in time for the race end in the first place; and the promotion given by the safety car being caused by someone running in front of nico (kimi antonelli) instead of behind h im. this is +3 positions that weren't guaranteed, and nico admitted in an interview with sky germany that he expected to be finishing p8 or p9 at the highest.
additionally, we saw gabi finish 12th. he was handicapped by wearing more tyres for q2, and in my (and jonathan wheatley's, as he said in the same interview with sky germany) opinion pitted too late -- that said, he drove a clean race to finish where he qualified, has shown to be up to nico's pace in previous sessions, and is at the end of the day very much a rookie. it'd be stupid to expect him to fully match nico, who has fifteen years of experience of driving cars exactly like the sauber: with lots of flaws and little opportunities. I think we will continue to see gabi learn and improve, and that points aren't far away for him, either.
fortunately for both us and the drivers, sauber's development cycle is far from done. iñaki rueda (sauber's head of sporting and strategy, who was with ferrari until last year - his wikipedia article here for those curious) said in an interview to german media that a second big upgrade package is planned for after the summer break, though they might try to bring it earlier if possible. this package and the whole 2025 car is fully developed, so all resources are going towards the 2026 (audi) car for the rest of the year. the reason they aren't bringing them earlier is because of production itself, not development being unfinished. there is some danger in finishing the development cycle before the season is over; however, it is much better than I feared, which is that sauber would be abandoning this year completely in favour of 2026. the restructuring that has been happening in the team is seemingly offering them enough resources to both target the 2025 and 2026 cars simultaneously.
the saubers were fortunate this race to both improve on their own and have competitors fall back. but thus is the nature of the sport--it doesn't really diminish or take away from the impressive result it was. the summer break isn't that far away, either, so it'll be interesting what else comes of it, and how the teams that did not seem to respond well to the new front wing regulations will deal with it the following races.

Talk Garden Vol. 21‼️〜Health Checkups, Favourite Characters and Meals🍚〜
The 21st episode of my podcast, "Wakana's Talk Garden" has been uploaded! 😆 This time, the topic was "Everyone's health checkup memories," seems like you all have a lot of different experiences...😭😭 In particular, there were many memories of blood draws, and lots of you reported that the person who was giving you a shot was super unskilled💉 I'm really scared of needles so I always get depressed whenever it's time to get a shot *laughs* I mean, it hurts so why wouldn't I feel down, right??!!...😂 They say it'll just be a tiny prick, but it's more than just a prick😂 In my mind, I'm like "arrrghhhh! (;;)"😂
Also, everyone seems to want to lose weight right before your checkup! It was cute to read about your attempts😂 I don't think there's anything you can do about it😂 I'm not the type to care much about the numbers! Either way, I enjoyed reading everyone's experiences! Thank you for all your submissions this month! ! ・:*+.\(( °ω° ))/.:+
Now, the next talk topic is actually a question I've been getting many times before: "Which Ghibli character would you choose as your husband? Which one would you choose as your friend?" 💌 I've always wanted to talk about it, but I know for a fact that it would end up being a long conversation 😂 That's why I've held back so far... 😢 But the podcast is a great opportunity so in response to all the questions I've received, the next talk topic will be [Tell me about your favourite anime character! ] ! \\\\٩( 'ω' )و ////
Let's talk about everyone's "Oshi-Charas" together! \\\\٩( 'ω' )و //// By the way, I've briefly hinted at this "Ghibli character" question a few times before on radio shows and such, basically, my ideal man is "Ashitaka" from Princess Mononoke‼ 😍💕 He's just too cool and handsome... The fact that he's such a perfect match for San is also a big plus♡ But who would I marry? Or who would I be friends with? It's hard to decide🤔 I'd love to talk about that too! ! \\\\٩( 'ω' )و //// Please send me your favourite characters! !
Last but no least, here are some photos of the meal I had with my mother🍚 The one I talked about in the podcast📸 We had always planned that my mother would be staying at my place during this Golden Week, but apart from the music festival we went to, she didn't have any plans and said she wanted to take it easy. In the midst of all this, I really wanted to declutter...so I asked my mother to help me 😅💦 To make up for the trouble, I was in charge of cooking every meal, and I let my mother relax as much as possible 😂
Here are some of the meals we had~ ・On the last day, we worked hard to make gyoza (we froze them to save for another day!) ・Hamburger steak sandwiched between lotus roots + potato salad with yukari sauce ・Stir-fried pork with chives and egg + honey mustard German potatoes + seaweed soup ・Chicken Tsukesoba Kamo Nanban-style ・French toast (I suddenly had a craving one morning) ・Miso stir-fried eggplant and green peppers made by my mother + tuna/avocado yukke + bean salad + potato salad with yukari sauce
I'm always so hungry that I end up taking pictures in a hurry 😂 When I document my meals like this, I'm reminded once again how important it is to eat properly 🍚 Today's meal creates tomorrow's energy !
Well, that's it for today! Until next time~☆( *'▽'*)/

FAQ + Telegram
Massive TW for discussions of pedophilia, zoophilia, incest, necrophilia and everything else you can think of. This is NOT an understatement. This entire blog will be incredibly triggering and upsetting for most readers. Unless extreme, not all posts will have trigger warnings. This pinned post is your trigger warning. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
This blog was originally dedicated to archiving Ezra / Toonimal / Critterkiddo's whereabouts and activity on his site Oddballs. Over time, we realized that the issue goes beyond Ezra (despite Ezra being a massive problem) and we started to focus on the pediverse and paraphile movement as a whole. We are a very tiny team of people investigating the paraphile activist movement growing on the pediverse, and this account is run by 2 people. All of the team members are queer and/or furries, most of us are survivors of CSA.
Here is a link to our telegram channel.
For questions, submissions and tips:
@parafiles
Our FAQ is below.
Who wrote the doc?
I, Art, wrote the document entirely by myself. I gathered every screenshot and merticulously put together the document over the course of two weeks. There are rumors that multiple people wrote it which is false. Only one individual wrote the document.
Where can I read the doc?
We cannot link the document directly, as the original post containing the document was completely wiped from tumblr in its entirity. (If anyone has an archive of the post please send it!)
The link to the document and its archive can be found in the telegram channel.
Have you reported this to police?
Multiple. Times.
Throughout my time writing the document, over the course of multiple weeks our team has reached out to Lebanon PD and FBI regarding the website. We have and will continue to contact local authorities and we implore anyone with half a mind to do the same.
Can we DM you?
Yes. Anyone can DM us if you have leads regarding Ezra, the pedi, or information on any children on the site. Due to the amount of stress this investigation is putting on our team, we can only cover cases directly related to the pediverse.
If you have something you believe is urgent, PLEASE call police.
I'm a journalist/youtuber/part of the press, can I cover your story?
I cannot emphasize enough how utterly important it is for journalists to cover what is going on on oddballs. You do not need to message us directly to cover it, but if you want precise details of the entire investigation since November we highly reccomend messaging us.
I'm a minor on the site, can you help?
While we were in contact with 3 child victims, we cannot take on any more to help as its overwhelming. If you would like to submit a victim impact statement to us for us to share, we can do so but we will heavilly censor your identity.
If you are a minor PLEASE:
- Call police / fbi / Lebanon PD
- Send a cybertip
- Tell your family, your therapist, a teacher, any trusted adult.
Please do not sit on being abused, please alert authorities in your area or in Ezra's city. We can only do so much.
I'm from the pedi and I have something to report.
Despite our views on paraphiles, insiders are welcome to report anything to us. We have multiple insiders, but the more the merrier. If you have information worth sharing to us, shoot us a dm.
I want to send you a message but I'm worried about security.

What's the point? Why do you care so much?
As previously mentioned, our team is mainly built up of survivors of CSA. I myself am a victim of CSA, COCSA, online grooming and incest. I am also a queer person who cares about the image of the LGBT community. To me, it is extremely important to raise awareness of the paraphile movement and how they are attempting to infiltrate queer spaces. They have been invading queer spaces since the 1980s, and there is no end in sight.
The purpose of this is to archive, raise awareness and blow the whistle on these monsters because most queer mainstream media (like Pink News) refuses to touch this subject. With the rise in queerphobia from the far-right, painting us all as pedophile groomers, it is absolutely crucial that we as queer people get loud and angry at the pedophiles and zoophiles trying to worm into the community. The silence or denial about this movement's existence is destroying the queer community.

how do i ‘sigh’ contracts with agents and/or publishers if i live internationally? as writer from the literal other side of the world where the currency isn’t comfortable enough for me to simply get on multiple flights to the US/UK and back, how does any of the querying and publishing process happen with an international writer?
Working with Agents and Publishers Internationally
You don't have to be face-to-face with an agent or publisher in order to sign with them. Meetings are typically done over the phone, or more frequently nowadays, through a video call. Contracts can be sent through the mail and signed, but they can also be signed digitally.
It's not a requirement to meet your agent, publisher, or editor face-to-face. They won't fly you out, and they won't expect you to fly yourself out. In fact, most authors never actually meet their agents, publishers, or editors.
These days, querying is done digitally, meaning that you upload and/or e-mail relevant documents rather than mailing them physicall or handing them off in person. For that reason, querying agents or publishers in another country works the same as it does for people within that country. Research agents and find ones who represent what you write and have open submissions. Carefully read through submission guidelines and put together your querying packet. Then submit it either through the web site or via e-mail, depending on what they ask for. Due to the fact that everything can be done over the phone, e-mail, and video call, it's very common for agents and publishers to have clients all over the world.
I hope that gives you some reassurance!

Groan Tube Tummy
Anyone remember those "Groan Tube" toys from the early 2000s?
I woke up to an uncomfortable tummy.
Dinner wasn't very filling last night so I filled up on tea 'cuz I was too lazy to bother to cook up something else for myself. I was also trying out a new blend of tea and it tasted pretty good. Chinese-style tea with just leaves in hot water.
Maybe it's stress because I spent all day yesterday fretting over some documentation stuff I had to submit the next day. I tried submitting it just after midnight and the thing wouldn't let me. I'd been stressing and going over the stuff for well over 8 hours at that point just to make sure I didn't fudge anything. I looked up whether or not other people had the same experience with the thing not submitting and saw quite a few posts online in regards to this specific thing where people said, "Nah--wait 6 hours" followed by others that claimed they waited 8 or 8.5 hours before the site finally took their submissions. So I decided to sleep on it and set an alarm for 6 hours later and every hour after that to remind me to try to submit the things.
6AM, alarm goes off. I sit up to turn the alarm off…and my stomach lets out a strange noise. Hard to describe, but if anyone remembers those toys from the early 2000s called "Groan Tube Noise Makers"? You can look 'em up under that name. I just did. Yeah, my guts let out short bursts of this kind of noise.
It's been almost an hour since I woke up and my stomach has not stopped making these noises. I have my stethoscope tucked just under my navel as I type all of this out and it sounds like someone tipping a Groan Tube every other minute.
The interesting thing is that these noises are actually really uncomfortable. My intestines feel like they're distended and whenever the 'Groan' of a gurgle passes through it's like being pinched in that specific segment of intestine.
The 'Groan' noises are erupting absolutely everywhere in my intestines. Upperleft, lower right, criss-crossing the middle and particularly loud and deep just below my navel.
What I wouldn't give to be sitting in a partner's lap--me stressing over getting these documents submitted, both hands frantically typing away on my laptop…and their hands languidly squeezing and prodding my guts--messing with my belly and getting all of these groans and glorps out of my system. Like...it's not quite painful...but it's really, really uncomfortable and is definitely a sensation I'd classify as a 'tummy ache'.
Honestly, I wonder about the new tea leaves I used last night. The reaction from my tummy this morning really feels like something didn't agree with my intestines. The way my intestines feel bloated up and are grumbling honestly sounds exactly like how all the asks describing sugar-free bloats to be. So I can't help but wonder if maybe those tea leaves had some sugar-free substance on them or something. I mean, they shouldn't. To my knowledge, they really were just tea leaves that had maybe been roasted and dried before being packaged in a vacuum-sealed bag.
Just tried Googling if green tea can cause upset stomachs or stomach aches. I've never had this problem before and I've had plenty of different kinds of green tea before this. Apparently, it's something called 'tannins' and something about proteins binding in the intestines?
So…either I never fill up on green tea ever again in lieu of a filling dinner…or I gotta do this again…for science--to truly confirm whether or not I have 5lbs of literal fetish-fuel in the form of tea leaves. As always, gimme your best responses. Do your worst! My intestines already feel icky and uncomfy--what could you possibly add?

hi! I’ve been following this blog for a while and tbh I think it’d be really fun to organize my own version of a free printable zine, but I’m not sure where I’d start lol. Any advice from what yall have learned?
Honestly, just start! Put together a little website or homebase, and make sure you have the essentials like submission guidelines, a bit about you as the editor, and explanation for what the zine is and why it exists, what you're hoping it will become. Figure out how you will take submissions (email? google form?) and put that in an easy to find location on your home base, and then see if you can get enough submissions to make your first zine! I find it's useful to be transparent about how/when you plan to communicate with any submitters.
It took us several months for our first edition that was open to the public to reach enough submissions to publish, and even then it was pretty slim. But we made our presence known both on social media and on Chill Subs which is where the majority of our literature submissions come from. In order to build a base of folks that submit, we connected with people who are involved in the chicken community. We talk about it in our personal lives to whoever will listen (I've gotten about half a dozen of my irl acquaintances to either submit or promise to submit in the future). I put COOP in my bio when I submit my stuff to other publications.
And then when we have enough submissions, I put them all in a little publication, using a template that I made once and didn't really have to make again (although I may have to when Microsoft Publisher dies in like 2 years or something 😭) I already felt confident in my document design and formatting abilities so that part was pretty easy.
Then we publish it to the site and let everyone know they should read it!
Each part felt like its own project:
- coming up with central idea
- building website and submission form (and maintaining them)
- establishing social media
- continuing to be active on it, or at least on tumblr. this is probably what takes up the most of my time
- going through submissions
-sending acceptance and rejection letters
- formatting and editing the document
- publishing and announcing the edition
- building a newsletter and using it to make announcements
-each special edition or special feature is its own little (or big) project
and we're always thinking of new things to try in each of these categories. we'll never be perfect which means there's always room for improvement (like when we transferred from a free site to our own domain, for example)!
I hope this helps!! Let me know if you have more specific questions! I'm always happy to talk about this stuff.

Issue #9 submissions are OPEN!
Submissions are open for short fiction and nonfiction until 11:59pm EST on June 30, 2024.
Send us your dead doves, your blorbos, your plinkos, your wretched meow meows yearning to be free; that thing you wrote that made you think, “I don’t know where this belongs”; the stuff you’d never show anyone you know IRL. Give us your shameless, self-indulgent smut; the manuscript to the video essay you dictated to your YouTube subscribers in your head; your thoughtful explorations of trauma and identity; your Pepe Silvia wall; your sci-fi, your fantasy, your romance, your realism. We want anything and everything. As long as you identify as a fan, we want to read your work.
We are currently looking for:
Short fiction (only 1 piece at a time, max 12k words; if flash [under 1k], you may submit up to 5 pieces in one document)
Nonfiction (personal essays, articles, or meta, max 12k words)

We can't wait to read your work!

Blog Post 9: Research
Tumblr media
Wow! I am amazed at the number of journals focused on publishing poetry. I read through quite a number of them focusing on their submission period, number of poems they would accept for submission, their required documents for submitting poems, as well as the amount of money they were willing to pay authors for their work. From the sites I visited, I chose the following.
Poet Lore
Frontier Poetry
Poetry Magazine
Each of these sites had their pluses and minuses. Poet Lore, however, was my favorite. They publish twice yearly and is currently open for submissions. If they like your work, they will pay you $50 for each of your poems which were accepted. This is not bad for a beginning poet.
In searching the Web, I also found a site which was excellent in describing the documentation many of the poetry publishers required, 9 Essential Poetry Manuscript Format Tips to Get Published by Sean Glatch (https://writers.com/poetry-manuscript-format).  In the article, the author provided pictorial representation of the submission letter, how the poetry should be displayed on the page was well as a number of other visuals displays of possible documents needed for submission.

How do I participate?
Create something related to the prompts (one, two, or all three or just answer one or both questions) and our OTP. Upload it and enjoy that you created something.
But I can’t draw or write…
Don’t worry! There is so much more you can do! All forms of media/art are allowed! Editing a video, writing a fanfiction, formulating a headcanon or an analysis. Drawing a fanart, editing a graphic or creating a moodboard. Recording an audio or a musical composition, creating a playlist of songs, getting out your cosplay or doing a photoshooting with some merch you own, maybe giving a recommendation to a fanart or fanfiction! Also, for the first time we’ll add questions that you can write answers to! Just share your answers!
Let’s get creative! Everything is welcome!
Don’t be shy with liking and reblogging each other’s work.
Will you reblog/retweet my work?
Heck, yeah we will! Please use the hashtag #FRobinMonth24 as the first tag (Tumblr) and tag us in your text @frobinfandays or, on Twitter, @FrankyAndRobin  or @frobin.bsky.social on bsky.
Rules:
Everyone is welcome to participate.
This is an event to celebrate the romantic involvement of Franky and Robin from One Piece, but portrayals of them as friends are welcome too! (But no other ships with either of them.)
No reposting of other people’s work! (Sharing a link is fine, using official works for edits is also fine.)
You are absolutely allowed to use the visual prompts in your work!
You do not need to have a Tumblr blog to participate on Tumblr. However, if you would like to see your work featured on the FRobinFandays blog, we need you to submit it to us. (You can stay anonymous if you want to.)
We’ll also have this event on Twitter! Post your stuff there too and tag the FRobin Twitter @FrankyAndRobin and also use the hashtag #FRobinMonth24.
First time we’ll also have this event on bsky @frobin.bsky.social and also just write FRobin in the post (I’m not sure how it works just yet).
Everyone else feel free to check out what is happening on those social media platforms!
Sharing your links from Twitter on Tumblr (as a submission for example) and other social media sites is absolutely fine!
Don’t worry if you’re no native speaker. Write in the language you feel comfortable with!
(I don’t feel like it should have to be said but…) No bashing on other artists’ works or harassing others. Franky and Robin would never approve of bullying, and neither will we.
Please help to spread the word with spreading this post.
Have fun! <3
Feel free to ask, just leave a comment on this document, ask on Tumblr or on Twitter!

Thank you for answering my question about sharing my writing on tumblr. If I may, I'd like to ask another more important question.
A bit of necessary information first. I don't have a computer. I do my writing on an app called Writer's Journal, and it has an export option. Are their publishers or sites where I could submit my work through this app? And if so, what format should I use? Unfortunately, I'm a bit lost when it comes to computer knowledge. The app offers a few methods for sending, but I have no idea which to use. I can do straight text to share on tumblr or Facebook, but do I submit to a publisher in this form?
Please help if you can
Submitting to a Publisher with No Computer Access
Submission guidelines vary from one publisher and agent to the next, so the first thing you need to do is visit the web site of whichever agent or publisher you're submitting to and read their submission guidelines, which will be posted on the web site.
Most agents and publishers accept electronic submissions via a form on their web site or via e-mail. If it's a web site form, once you have the properly formatted document on your phone, go to the web site, click on the form and follow directions. When it gives you the option to attach/upload your manuscript, you will select the document on your phone. If it's an e-mail submission, you will need to make sure you have access to e-mail on your phone. If you don't already have one, you can set up a free G-Mail account for this purpose. The submission guidelines will tell you what e-mail address to use and any other pertinent info. You would then compose the e-mail, attach the document from your phone, and e-mail it to the listed e-mail address.
If nothing else, if you have access to a local library, you can also use the computers there for free and ask a librarian to help you submit your manuscript. Community centers sometimes have computers you can use, and you can also see if a friend or family member with a computer can help you.
Best wishes!
