I would like to imagine that my MC recently got a reversible octupus plushie she got from human world when she visited home. The demon brothers notices the new plushie in MC's room but did not care about it until they saw it changed to the angry face.
Now, everyone of them is frantic, including Luci but his prideful self decides to keep it cool.
Who in the Devildom made MC mad? Asmo and Levi is crying. Mammon is pacing around the common room. Luci, Satan, and Belphie are seething. Beel lost his appetite.
They did not notice anything while at RAD, or when the residents from Purgatory Hall visited.
Was it because Beel ate MC's pudding, when she specifically said that she's keeping it because she will eat it as a midnight snack?
Was it Levi when he *asked* MC to watch new anime season installment, for 3 nights in a row?
Or Satan when he spam messaged MC with cat pictures?
Spoiler- It was actually Solomon who switched it to angry just to troll the demon brothers and MC though that it was not a big deal anyway 🤣
Tumblr media
a/n: I want one of those plushies too, they're so cute.

cw: a bit of mischevious sleep/dream stuff in belphie's section.

They freak out when they see your plushie is turned to the angry side and assume you're unhappy. One day they peek in your room to talk to you. They spot the little octopus plushie laying on your bed and it's flipped back to the happy side again. Yay! But wait, what did they do to make you so happy in the first place?!
Tumblr media
Lucifer thinks that you liked all the extra time you spent helping him with some student council business this week. You complained at the time, but was that a ruse to hide how much you enjoyed his company as much as he secretly enjoyed yours?
Mammon thinks you're his good luck charm and wouldn't you know it, he just hit it big at the casino. He has a few outstanding bills to pay off, but first he's gonna buy you something nice!
Levi gave you some extra gacha capsule toys he had duplicates of. He wasn't even sure if you liked that anime, but maybe he guessed your favourite character by accident. (After this, he's going to give you a lot of little gifts featuring a particular character whose name you don't even remember, but he looks so excited to give them to you that you can't refuse.)
Satan thinks about the books he's lent you recently and assumes curling on the sofa with a good book solved all your problems. He loves those particular books and now he's certain that you love them too. Of course you did, who else knows your taste in literature or anything else better than him? He can't wait to talk to you about them in more detail later.
The only thing Asmo can think of is that you realized a selfie of you two together on Devilgram started trending before he even noticed. Well, he's going to be taking your picture a lot more from now on. It's adorable how camera-shy you are, but he promises to keep most of them private for only the two of you to enjoy. ♡
Beel avoided a meltdown last night when the buffet he took you to threatened to cut him off. He tries really hard to keep his hunger in check when you go out together, so you must be really proud of him! Maybe he'll pick up a few dozen cupcakes at Madam Scream's as a thank-you gift...
Belphie could tell you were feeling stressed last night. His brothers just don't know how to leave you alone, do they? They bother you with their foolishness and you're too nice to say no (even though he knows your grumpy little octopus friend is a warning to them all if they don't get the hint). If he made you a little drowsy after dinner so you could go to bed early and get a good night's sleep, that's his business. He thought he was careful not to leave a trace when he visited your dreams last night too, but maybe you knew he was there all along? Well, he's happiest when he can spend time with you, awake or asleep, so it makes sense you feel the same way.

The Replication Phenomenon
Tumblr media
Mitosis felt good, like a full body message that releases a lifetime of tension. Matthew was tense after these past few weeks of nonstop work, so he’d needed some help with balancing the books and cussing out shit customers. Nature provided.
He could feel it the day before, scrubbing dishes in the back, that rare telltale feeling of tightness in his brain and chest. Saw the little crease of skin on his forehead and the ridge of bone beneath paired with that slight gap in between every action, like his movements needed to be decided upon by committee before they could be proceeded. An echo of neurons just ever so off synch on the same intentions.
He’d slept on it after eating more that he’d thought possible, a confused doordash driver shovelling bag after bag of cheap fastfood into his ravenous hands. The guy had eyed him up, seeing the tiny valley forming from Matthew ’s chin down, hearing the odd way a slowly doubling pair of lungs and vocal cords changed the man’s deeper voice. The man had just grinned at him and wished him well, Matthew catching the site of the man’s car down his drive way, a man dozing off in the driver’s seat clearly bored from waiting.
A perfectly identical man tapping on the wheel, same clothes, same hair, same everything.
Tumblr media
He’d passed out scrolling Youtube, having already deepdived WebMD for all its worth as his dinner got confused between which throat it should travel down. His vision just ever so confused as the irises widened, a second pupil splitting off in a perfect simulation of a dividing cell.
1/4th of the population experienced Replication in some form or another in their lifespan. It was a strange an unpredictable process with a thousand names in every culture, spanning history. Even the most primitive form of humanity felt its effect, finger paintings of twinned men and women in every combination that division would produce. It was so impossible to be always divine or demonic, religions never deciding whether to be hateful or worshipping to the doubled individuals in their halls.
Once Kane had killed Abel, God had spited the action by pulling him in two, a simulacrum of brotherhood he’d spoken. Yet Jesus’s earliest miracles was splitting James his cousin into a greater and lesser pair, forming an absolute mess of beliefs to dictate the view of duplicates in this god-fearing country. An evil curse or something that created an unequal pair of doubles. That or it was still a pagan thing, witches in the night spilling potions and elixirs with the essence of the Morrigan, the Morai, the Norns, Janus and the wicked Furies.
Tumblr media
The advice portion on WebMD told him to drink water and relax, listing every way his mitosis could conclude. Positive outcomes were the greatest majority, links to 100 years worth of articles describing the healthiness of the process. Alcmaeon of Croton said it balanced the humors, the excess shared between two bodies. A study from last year described a vast decrease in stress and negative health effect associated with the dualism movement, a recent and legal trend that acknowledged the lack of initial individuality between doubles.
He remembered a two headed lawyer arguing for a ruling outlawing another remaining individuality bill, something related to distinguishing duplicates between different legal identities. He hardly remembered it all, although now he wished he could.
Tumblr media
Matthew was thankful he wouldn’t mostly deal with the perception of a lesser or greater James to his new selves, so far removed from old bible bullshit still hot and concentrated in the distant south. He’d fallen into unconsciousness with two sides of his brain imagining the mirror of himself, unable to feel the differences between each other as intentions were predicted, body temperatures and heart beats identical. Unable to feel any difference in themselves
His dreams that night were pleasant, but strange. Two perspectives to every stray thought, old friends passing notes in class. He was doing the taxes he put off, his hands multiplying, scribbling numbers down at rapid efficiency. Grinning to himself through three mouths. Going further than grinning.
He’d woken up what felt like two times, blearily feeling his brain(s) coming to awareness before lazily shifting to look in his bedroom mirror. His facial features danced, stretched between two forming skulls, the desynchrony in his mind now two minds struggling to be one as a quarter of their brains was still shared. He had three eyes now, one sat between the two originals, two pupils in it that couldn’t decide whether it belonged to the right or left. They’d swallowed, one after the other, necks still one, yet separate beneath, two adams apples moving up and down, sliding aginst each other.
Tumblr media
Their body felt tight, but not in an uncomfortable way. Hell, if Matthew had remained like this, feeling doubled musculature beneath his skin, he wouldn’t feel mad. Half of him wanted to stretch as they lay there, the other agreeing through the echo of thoughts as two pairs of biceps squeezed against each other beneath their arms. They looked through multiplying eyes at their bare chest, all that multiplicity beneath deceptively appearing as if they’d been taking steroids their whole lives. It wasn’t a perfect disguise though, given the way actual division pocked through.
A quite literal poking that was, a glance at the dual monsters making their boxers tight showing two tips peeking through the nylon.
It hadn’t taken negotiation to relieve themselves, although deciding which one was first had been a battle. A meaningless one, considering that while their erections were seemingly split down to the base between their forming sides, both cocks were happy to provide a slew of sensation to both forming minds, whether they stroked the left or right.
They’d taken to one then the other, one equally full stream of cum shooting from each from their doubled balls, four testicles beneath their shared ballsack. Their sweaty palm felt the same yet different in its grip, stronger and bigger, two people’s worth of tendons and strength overlaid and making every motion just that little bit unpredicatable. One dick being slowly messaged as the other felt fingers pass by it, a sensation like they’d never imagined.
They’d cleaned up with unsteady steps towards the bathroom, struggled through an upright piss through two penises before staring far too long into the mirror. An hour lost to a morning stress relief and yet in that time, their body had already changed again. A chin and nose became two as their hair thickened at the top, follicles rapidly producing hair to eventual distribute between two scalps.
Matthew tried to grin, but there were less pretty things about replication relating to the teeth and bones that were better left unsaid. He’d attempt to talk though, but with two tongues battling for control over syllables, it was a fruitless effort.
Any grin or reassurance was unnecessary. He’d been worried the night before as any person should be. Sharing was a scary thing, especially with personhood. The interviews he’d found online had been right though. It wasn’t scary at all.
A HGTV star showed off his change on screen, reveling in his new “improved” self to his adoring audience. Twin heads taking turns at how it felt, how easy the transition was. Flexing their shared muscles, paired with copious shots of them swinging a hammer at dry wall and the like. Soft porn for the middle-aged woman, as well as Matthew.
Tumblr media
A basketball star who’d split just a little more, animatedly talked to a reporter who’d found him at a community court. They only shared a pair of legs, yet Matthew had seen them deftly play through so many games, two men from the waist up abusing their two pairs of arms to pass and shove. In fact, nearly half the athletes on the field were doubled in some way, replication just another factor to a great athlete like height and strength.
Tumblr media
Perfect dupes were the most common and Matthew had seen enough of them in his life to know they never seemed to have problems. It was an almost annoying thing to witness, like a pair of twins so codependent as if they were competing against every other pair of complete dupes to be the best clone stereotype. The door dasher before an excellent example, likely having a closet of two pairs of every item, fulfilling the oddest psychological need to be identical that was ingrained in every dupe. Getting their hair cut, piercing their ears, getting tattoos by the splattering of specialized locals, cared for by similarly duplicated pairs of service workers.
Tumblr media
Matthew had thought it so bizarre, yet even as he did his damned best at cleaning up his beard, just the thought of the two halves of his splitting face having a difference ate a little at him. A thought of difference that now seemed so alien as to be laughable. Logic was there stating that it didn’t matter, but his instinct said it did.
Humanity had an obsession with enforcing distinction and Matthew was thankful he’d never have to face experiencing this in any other time. There wouldn’t be an original or copy dictated by a authoritarian government, or a lesser and greater self-assigned by the church. Practices of trying to manipulate a replication had been mostly outlawed, no people trying to force a person back into one or any medical practices to force a partial dupe into a complete dupe.
The Matthews ate breakfast as their shared eye slowly split and their noses separated. They were fortunate to be a relate fast duplicator, a part of both of him praying that this ease didn’t mean they were predisposed to repeated duplications, the greater part of them hoping for it.
Cooking had felt nice, humming coming from two voices as they fumbled a song both half remembered. It was still a hulking meal, although they were now of two minds to multitask the doubled portions. Food eventually settling in whatever was going on with their stomach(s), leaving them a satisfied man.
They’d gotten dressed in loose stretchy clothes, pulling on a pair of joggers and some comfortable slip-on sneakers. Medical advice stated they continue on with their day as they were best able, so they’d gone through their morning routine, even as they felt their chest widening and as the skin on their neck tighten as it began to separate. They’d gone on their morning run, any clumsiness from the morning gone as even as their brains now seemed fully separate, their muscle memory was alive and well. They were sure they had multiple lungs now, given how easily they shrugged off any sense of physical exertion, their compounded muscles having caused 14 miles to feel like 1.
They’d finished half out of boredom as they settled in their garage, focused on the tightness of their sneakers and joggers as they dozed off. It was enough to distract the two from the obvious, their heads having diverge at some point in the run, temples now resting against each other as they leaned against their old workout bench.
Tumblr media
They’d noticed it when one of them had satisfied sighed and the other had woken up just enough from the post-run stupor. He’d glanced as much as he could at the other, half surprised even if he shouldn’t have been. The other had the same expression, taken aback yet unable to look away.
“Hello” Matthew had said, both of their voices ringing out. It felt awkward until it didn’t just a moment ago. “Nice to meet you Mat” they both said, laughing after it came out in sync. It felt good where it should’ve felt strange. Instincts were a hell of a drug.
“Mom’s going to fucking flip man” his other self said. They hadn’t told anyone what was happening, half hoping for a surprised reaction and half nervous. No one in his family had replicated in recent history, so he’d be the first. His sister had a kid and he supposed he’d make up for the asexual reproduction.
“Imagine Dad’s reaction” he suggested, already visualizing his ridiculous old man screwing up pronouns for his new pair of duplicated sons. “He’s going to vomit he’ll be so confused” his other self said fondly, thinking back to his part of sexual education where they’d awkwardly fit in replication and his father had tried to explain to a 9 year old Matthew how that worked. Didn’t help that the guy didn’t know himself.
They’d be good sports about it though, given they were a rare pair of liberal boomers. They’d be embarrassing sure, but he wasn’t worried about their reaction.
“Still don’t want to call them though” his other self said as if reading his mind. Their similar thoughts would never stop and Matthew wondered how living would be like from now on. Another guy with identical worries and hang-ups to him.
“Nah” he agreed, imagining if his other self was just as scared of telling anyone as him. They were different now, not clones like a sci-fi movie and a whole world of differences away from being twins or brothers. Research had shown that dupe’s brains never really diverged in the long term, never reaching that point when they could be called separate people. Especially if they never fulling split, although given their collar bones already felt a little tautly built and a third peck was forming on their chest, they were pretty sure they wouldn’t remain just a two headed man.
He wasn’t afraid of sharing being Matthew, but he was terrified of everyone else. His sister would hug him and her kid would love having kinda two uncles. His brother-in-law would be a toss up of being uncomfortably curious or completely apathetic and his grandparents were a complete mystery, apolitical wild cards that they were.
He’d have to go into work and explain to his boss. The woman was kind enough, but legally being enforced to raise his pay according to his degree of replication was always a messy situation. Same with trying to juggle this new life with all of his friends and acquittances.
Dating especially was daunting, now more so than before. Steven had left him just 2 months ago, a stressor that likely contributed to his replication in the first place. Loneliness was the greatest contributor to duplicate formation and he could only imagine his ex’s pleased reaction to thinking Matthew had coped by multiplying.
“How can I feel so worried about this shit, yet also excited” his other self said, sighing as he ran on of their hands through his hair. He paused afterwards before running it through Matthew ’s head in turn, making a part of his newly own heart melt a bit.
“Steven’s going to call this extreme narcissism you know” he commented. The fucker never liked dupes, probably some misplaced anger from his duped father and mother, never having time for him despite their doubled status. Matthew wondered if that’s why they broke up now, Steven smelling the signs so soon.
“He’s a dick though and I think I’m fine with being self -obsessed now” he said, not bothering with whatever internal dialogue they were playing out with two voices. The other him laughed and Matthew wasn’t even embarrassed when his cock hardened against its twin. Was hard to be self-conscious when that other cock hardened just the same moment later.
“Yeah, I’d imagine we’ll be pretty self-involved for a bit” one of them said, both absent minded touching their cocks already rearing to go so soon after their morning masturbation session. Precum already wet their slightly uncomfortable joggers, the pants now stretched a little too tight as their legs were itching to begin actually splitting.
“Don’t get carried away bucko” he said for the both of them, getting up from their place sweating in the garage. It wouldn’t do to get lost in this advanced masturbating before some key steps. First of all, shrugging off these remaining clothes.
The sneakers were a bitch to get off, the old pair ripping off to reveal his feet with a couple too many toes than before, a little oddly shaped for the doubling of the ankles and the properly dividing musculature. They’d inspected the shoes and noticed their hands, extra fingers appearing in secret, a thumb doubling before their eyes as it widened and split. It looked alien, yet was simple to control to roughly shrug off their joggers, even as their appendages split at random.
Their legs were both wide, the freedom from their fabric prisons allowing the bones to enlarge then separate. It was rapid, leaving them only the time to get to their couch before the tingly sensation of rapid skeletal growth left them largely immobile.
It was sensory hell, yet their erections remained, somehow getting larger as they lay there, feeling as if they were costumed in each other. Their legs all but separate aside from the skin, joined to a waist that seemed ready to split itself if only for their cocks that were at the moment refusing to move, if only so they could release again.
Both Matthew s desperately hoped no one looked at them through their patio door as they furiously worked at their cocks in their living room. They’d realized as the cum streaked over their chest again that they’d been able to jack off both with their dominant hand due to it completely splitting at some time in the process. Identical right hands now wet with sum were held up in front of their eyes as they sat their ass naked. A distraction enough for a moment before their satisfied cocks decided to stop resisting the rest of the duplication and the world shifted again.
Matthew felt his cock sink, its sensitive skin post ejaculation feeling like electricity as it was pulled beneath the muscles of his crotch, dragging two of their four testicles with it. The other Matthew reacted as if it truly did disappear, momentarily yelping as one of their hands touched the now empty space.
Matthew ’s waist separated from behind and he drew his new singularly his cock and balls out of the other guy’s ass, the immature part of him giving a brief shove with it against the other guy’s prostate to make him yelp again.
“Fuck do that again” his duplicate said, although Matthew was rendered unable as the separation between their waists quickly travelled up their body, his abdomen and chest pushing out from his duplicates back, feeling their muscle fibers and blood vessels untangled. Matthew only had the brief urge to hold his breath before his head was pull back as well, feeling as if he was being born as they truly separated, awkward splayed hands and feet parting to leave them a mess of limbs atop each other on their now messy couch.
A complete duplication, an incredible yet messy (legally and emotional) affair. Incomplete duplications were just as chaotic, but there was some comfort in always knowing where your double was, attached to you in some form. Matthew now felt an otherworldly sense of unease as he held his double as he breathed steadily through the exertion beneath him. A part of his soul atop him, able to wander off if he so chose.
It felt vulnerable and Matthew wished he could just hold the other guy close. The other guy seemed fine with it, happy to push himself back down onto the man, nestled deep. Sneakily pushing Matthew ’s cock into himself as if it would emerge back out of his waist.
They’d get up some time, probably to shut the blinds to then get back onto the couch. When they actually got up though they’d nervously wait for their order of clothes to arrive, wearing whatever they had in duplicate that was already in their closet. They’d call their parents, call their boss, send a inquiry to their state department about their completed replication. Arrange to get a new pair of ID card, both of them in squeezed together into a single shitty photo.
They’d masturbate again, figure out how it felt in two bodies rather than 1 ½ and 1.9999 bodies. Meal prep and update their dating profile, check the box that said duplicated and scroll through other men who were just like them in circumstance.
But for now, they would sit here, comfortable and sleepy. Ignore the complications oncoming and cuddle, hot and heavy against each other.
Still Matthew, alone together and so much more.

(JTA) – A global bestseller by a Jewish Holocaust victim; a novel by a beloved and politically conservative Jewish American writer; a memoir of growing up mixed-race and Jewish; and a contemporary novel about a high-achieving Jewish family are among the nearly 700 books a Florida school district removed from classroom libraries this year in fear of violating state laws on sexual content in schools.
The purge of books from Orange County Public Schools, in Orlando, over the course of the past semester is the latest consequence of a conservative movement across the country — and strongest in Florida — to rid public and school libraries of materials deemed offensive. While the vast majority of such challenged and removed books involve race, gender and sexuality, several Jewish books have previously been caught in the dragnet.
The Orange County case is unusual for the sheer volume of books removed — 699 including some duplicates, according to documents the district provided — and for the unusually large number of books about the Holocaust and Jewish identity included among them. They included:
“Suite Française,” by Irène Némirovsky, a Ukrainian-French Jewish writer who wrote her novel in secret under German occupation before perishing in Auschwitz
“Herzog,” a semi-autobiographical novel by Jewish writer Saul Bellow, an outspoken cultural conservative whose son Adam Bellow is a publisher of right-wing Jewish books
“Black, White and Jewish: Autobiography of a Shifting Self,” by Rebecca Walker, feminist theorist and daughter of author Alice Walker, whose own antisemitic comments and writings have faced scrutiny in the past
“Bee Season,” a novel about a high-achieving family of Jewish scholars and cantors, by Myra Goldberg
“The Splendid and the Vile,” a nonfiction history book about Winston Churchill’s decision to fight Hitler’s forces during World War II, by Erik Larson
The collected plays of Lillian Hellman, a Jewish playwright and left-wing activist who was accused of Communist activities
“The Storyteller,” a novel dealing with the Holocaust by bestselling author Jodi Picoult
“The Reader,” a German novel about the aftermath of the Holocaust by Bernhard Schlink
“Sophie’s Choice,” a bestselling novel also about the aftermath of the Holocaust by William Styron
“The Freedom Writers Diary,” a nonfiction compilation of several high school students’ diaries inspired by their teachers’ efforts to instruct them on the Holocaust and Anne Frank
“Books are removed from classrooms with deference to House Bill 1069,” district spokesperson David Ocasio told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, referring to a Florida law signed this year that heavily restricts instruction and classroom materials about human sexuality.
No individual reasoning was given for each book’s removal, but Ocasio said that all of the books had been marked as “not approved for any grade level.” He added that every book will go through a secondary review to determine if it will be restricted to certain grade levels or “weeded from the collection” altogether.
Some of the books on Orange County’s list have come under scrutiny in the past for removals from other districts. “The Storyteller” was the subject of widespread press coverage after a member of the right-wing activist group Moms For Liberty successfully pushed for its removal from a different Florida school district earlier this year. “Sophie’s Choice” was recently removed from a third Florida school district at the behest of a Jewish parent’s challenge; both parents said their challenges were due to sexual content.
Other outwardly Jewish books on the list, including “The Reader” and Philip Roth’s “Portnoy’s Complaint,” contain explicit sexual content. Non-Jewish World War II novels “Slaughterhouse-Five” and “Catch-22” were also pulled.
Among the hundreds of other books flagged for removal in the district were frequently challenged books like “Gender Queer” and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” as well as literary standards like Milton’s “Paradise Lost” and Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings,” and children’s fare like a book based on Disney’s “The Incredibles.” Some items were listed more than once.
Other districts in Florida this year have pulled an illustrated adaptation of Anne Frank’s diary in order to comply with the state law.

The Mark of the Blind Eye
Here is my second post about the Society of the Blind Eye in order to make sure that we are all on the same page with where my ideas and thoughts about it come from. A third one will be coming! (This series was originally only going to be 2 posts, but then this one got too long and I hadn't even gotten to the main point that I wanted to discuss lol.) But for this one, I want to point out a thing that I don't think that anyone's really discussed before even though indications of it do pretty clearly exist within canon... The Society of the Blind Eye seems to exist in opposition to Bill Cipher himself. And the symbol of the Society of the Blind Eye is a very good example of this relationship!
Tumblr media
Is this observation too obvious? Or do I just sound entirely insane right now? Because I swear that I'm right! But I've never seen anyone discuss it before! I just think that if you think about the Society with the idea that they exist to oppose Bill Cipher in mind, it explains a number of things about how and why they operate as well as their aesthetics. But let's discuss the symbol itself first!
So first of all, I think that it's really neat how the Society- from its very first hints of existing to the series finale- it associates itself with graffiti.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This exists in contrast to Bill who- while his iconography also tends to be found in the backgrounds and little details of shots- tends to be found in more structural ways.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Windows and carpets. On dollar bills and commercial products from makeup to DVDs to children's costume props all alike. These differences in how they appear speaks to how the Blind Eye exists in opposition to Bill Cipher. Bill Cipher is larger than any individual on Earth. His existence transcends space and time. He has existed since before humanity and he has had his hand in countless human social movements. From the Egyptian pyramids to the foundation of America, even having a hand in early computer technology. Bill Cipher is more than just a character. He exists within the very structures of human civilization within the show.
Meanwhile the Society by contrast has only existed for ~30ish years by the series' start. And the most significant way that it exists is in opposition to Bill Cipher. In a way, Bill Cipher's existence is cultural... Meanwhile the Blind Eye's existence is countercultural.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't think that the modern iteration of the Society ever realized it, but its primary form of iconography- the crossed out eye- is actually simultaneously just a GREAT aesthetic symbol (easy to recognize and duplicate but also looking fantastic to boot) but that it's also rather clever in how pragmatic it is for the Society's unmentioned but inherent secondary purpose. That secondary purpose being to oppose Bill Cipher and to wipe his influence from Gravity Falls.
We all know how Bill is able to look through symbols of himself depicted in the real world. He also seems to be able to look through images of eyes in general (given how he also tends to watch the world through the eye-like patterns on Birch trees). We also know why and how Fiddleford came to found the Society, that he was distressed by the supernatural things he saw- what was beyond the portal especially- and so sought to erase the memories of those distressing things from his mind... Only to realize that others could "benefit" from this as well. The memory gun at the center of this cult would eventually become the very same object that would kill Bill Cipher in the series finale. It was only because of the Society of the Blind Eye that Bill was ultimately able to be defeated! But it's not that much of a stretch to think that Fiddleford may have been using the Society of the Blind Eye to protect Stanford from Bill Cipher from the organization's outset, right? Not only do they use and were the protectors of the weapon that would eventually kill Bill Cipher, but we learn in the Book of Bill that Fiddleford's repeated use of the Memory Gun actually entirely inoculated him from Bill's manipulations! Fiddleford's mind was so damaged, that merely existing within it was physically able to harm Bill! The Blind Eye could easily drive Bill from the mind of anyone he possessed so long as they knew it was him. And given how Bill treats the bodies of anyone he possesses, certainly that would fall under the scope of the kinds of experiences the Blind Eye seeks to allow people to forget. Additionally, the mere symbol of the Society- if applied to already existing images of eyes and of Bill Cipher himself- would keep Bill from being able to look through those symbols, thus limiting his vision! Perhaps this is why in many depictions of the Blind Eye symbol, the X over the eye is emphasized and shown in a different color than the rest of the symbol and the eye itself.
Whether the Society knows it or not, their existence and activity in Gravity Falls puts limits on Bill's power and influence there. (If anyone in town can just kinda randomly get their memory wiped at a moment's notice, it makes it much much more dangerous for Bill to possess ANYONE in town.) And given who founded the Society and when and why he did, I have doubts that fact is a mere coincidence!

how poor are the weasley’s?
i think this question really just encapsulates jkr’s shitty world building because there are so many interconnected elements.
oh and as always fuck jkr for the antisemitism, transphobia, racism, holocaust denial, barely veiled misogyny and the rest of her sins.
why is there poverty in the first place?
in a world with magic where you can create practically anything but food out of nothing why are people poor. especially when the you can’t create food rule has the caveat if you already have food you can just duplicate it. moreover in a world where theoretically you can get everything you need with the right spell why do you need money? the answer in all likelihood is probably convenience because most people don’t have time to find the spell for this that and the other. but if you don’t have money theoretically there is still a away to provide for yourself. also i’m pretty sure there’s no lore against just conjuring gold so theoretically there’s no reason to be without money.
the weasleys and mismanaging their money
in harry and ron’s first train ride we get the introduction to the weasleys poverty and the frankly ludicrous mismanagement of their funds. first of all we get that percy got brand new robes not because he had grown out of his old ones but because he was made a prefect and that he also got a new owl. then we get ron who has bill’s old robes, charlie’s old wand and percy’s old rat and no money for the trolley just his least favourite sandwiches. now i’ll come back to my thoughts on the robes in a bit. now charlie’s old wand is a known plot hole but still why did he get a new wand especially considering that charlie graduated from hogwarts in the summer of 1991 if you have money to buy a wand at that point in time surely it should go to the child who needs a wand and doesn’t yet have one. but say charlie just really needed a new wand then use the spare cash you spent on percy’s robes and owl. like it just gives irresponsible to not dedicate money to the kid that needs it the most.
what are the indicators of the weasleys poverty?
i ask this because while poverty certainly manifests differently in different situations i find that the way the weasley finances are described and how they are portrayed to live don’t quite match up. now the big one is when they go to gringotts in CoS when all that’s in the weasley vault is a small pile of sickles and one galleon. but i’d also say that that is the only real indicator of the weasleys being poor because the two main other factors are the hand me down clothes and books. now i personally don’t find this to be an indicator of poverty at all i actually find it entirely normal. as some who had a school uniform (i went to state school in the uk) they are not cheap one full set of my uniform (blazer, jumper, shirt, kilt and socks) cost upwards of £200 and in a pair of shoes that will last at least the year and that’s at least another £50 or so. so it was the unquestionable norm in my school that if you had an older sibling who had spare uniform because they were graduated or had grown out of it then you would wear it (provided it was in good nick) and it was the same with textbooks the syllabus barely changed unless the entire national curriculum was updated so if you could inherit a textbook or set text you would, in fact you were at an advantage if it was for something like english lit because the annotations would already be there. and even if you didn’t have an older sibling in my school we were actively encouraged to buy second hand books. like i’m sorry but i just don’t accept hand me downs especially in this context as being a sign of poverty. now there are very big indicators of poverty that the weasleys don’t have (and obviously irl you can still be poor and not have these apply to you i just think it’s worth mentioning) which are food insecurity and housing insecurity.
now i would like to make it clear that i don’t think that the weasleys are particularly well off i just don’t think that they’re destitute in the way jkr wants the audience to believe (possibly because she’s never interacted with poverty on a significant level) which leads me into my next point.
comparative poverty
most of the times that the weasleys poverty is being examined it’s in the context of a comparison to either harry or the malfoys who are all significantly wealthy (the malfoys more so than harry) which provides a very skewed perspective of how poor the weasleys are because i’d wager that hermione (who is implied to be upper middle class considering her parents are dentists) would look poor certainly next to the malfoys. with harry it’s harder to say just because we really have no clue how rich harry actually is.
class vs money
now this is both related and unrelated but partially because of jkr’s very inconsistent writing of the weasleys being poor and her world building or lack there of but the weasleys very much come off to me like an upper class family. and this is a reminder that in the uk money and class are very different and that one does not inform the other. money can help you present your class but that’s about it. it is more than possible to be upper class and not have a pot to piss in (or in the forever iconic words of beverly: not have a pot in which to piss). and i think that the weasleys being an upper class family that lost their fortune at some point really informs some of their decisions like the fact that they are a single income household when after ginny goes to hogwarts i don’t really see why molly wouldn’t get a job. and the fact that when when arthur and lucius fight it’s generally about money and arthur being jealous of lucius’s fortune which would make even more sense if at one point the pair were equals in the social hierarchy. not to mention that the weasleys are part of the sacred twenty eight and class and blood status are very closely linked in the narrative.
all this to say that when you examine the nature of poverty in the wizarding world especially when your case study is the weasleys it makes very little sense. not only the first question of why is there poverty in the first place (and why the hell is there inflation i could write a whole separate think piece on this tapped fucking money system). but since it does exist how does it manifest itself? like bills aren’t really a thing because houses are powered by magic and rent isn’t really mentioned i don’t think, the weasleys own their house (another class indicator). it just really doesn’t make sense to me. also i haven’t really included ron being bullied for being poor by draco because the majority of people are poor compared to draco and draco is a dickhead eleven year old like i doubt he even knows how money works.

might be late to the party but this idea has been nesting in my head for a while so-
read, decoded, and inhaled the Book of Bill when it was released and this is what came out of that (and thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com)
It all started with the Parallel Dimensions pages (yeah I know we’re all exhausted with the multiverse but I can’t stop thinking about it so here we are).
“But I guarantee you that their less lucky dimensional duplicates think about THEM all the time… Maybe one day all these parallel Pines will get the chance to meet up face-to-face…”
Yeah fuck that shit goes hard, different timeline versions all coming after Dipper and Mabel out of hate and envy and greed for a life they should have had.
(At the time that this wormed it's way into my head talks of a third season / spin off were super high so this is a kind of spin off / third season I would have liked to see)
6 Years down the line
Dipper and Mabel in the timeline we know graduate high school, move to different states and start college. Dipper goes north, Seattle Washington to the University of Washington to study Cultural Geography and Linguistics (minoring in English Lit because he can’t help himself). Mabel stays a bit closer to home and ends up at California Institute of the Arts, studying Art History.
They keep in touch with each other, of course, and their parents and their Grunkles. For the most part their lives went back to normal after the first summer they spent in Gravity Falls. (Not totally, Mabel was still the only girl in their high school who tried to bring a grappling hook in with her on the first day and she’s definitely the only girl to keep one by the door of her college dorm room.)
Meanwhile in the Theraprism
Bill sucks at therapy. He doesn’t have feelings to talk about so suck on that- no he doesn’t care about his destroyed dimension or his historically poor love life thank you very much.
To kill time and boredom he creates the Book of Bill as a last ditch effort to free himself. If he can make a deal with someone through the book he could use them to break himself out of that damn place.
In a library where it really shouldn’t be
Dipper, unsurprisingly spends a lot of his study time in the many libraries littered over the universities campus. Most the time he’s not even there looking for a book, simply a desk in a quiet corner to lose himself in his work. He looks up, without even thinking to give his eyes a break from the bright screen of his lap top, and that's when he sees it.
A think black leather bound spine completely unmarked unlike the color coded spines besides it. It had down right weird vibes coming off it in ways Dipper has only experienced in the boarders of Gravity Falls weirdness.
Obviously he picks it up, cause he might be older but he defiantly is still the cat almost killed by his curiosity. However with age comes wisdom and the first thing he does is not open the book, instead he pockets it in his book bag with plans to call Grunkle Ford and Mabel when he got him.
Except he doesn't make it that far.
The Book of Bill and the other twins
The Book of Bill works as a sort of beacon. Bill didn't intend for that to happen- sending the book through the dimensions trying to get it to anyone who'd be stupid enough to make a deal with him put a damn spot light on the thing (not only that but it ends up in the hands of someone who's already proved their stupidity by having made a deal with Bill in the past).
There are hundreds of timelines, of different dimensions, where the twins lose- they lose everything, their loved ones, each other, their lives. Bill destroys their world, and suddenly this light.
They could all see him, this version of themselves that got to live the life they should be living. Why did he get to grow up, go to college, spend his life with his sister and their family when they couldn't.
Drawn to the book these hurt and broken versions of Dipper (and later Mabel when their together) come flocking to this dimension, if they can get their hands on that book they could have his happy ending instead.
Theraprism's newest tactic
Rolling with the punches (and with Bill their newest patient there are a lot of those) they quickly decide on a new route of therapy.
Traditional methods haven't made any progress so far, so with this new beacon trouble on earth they decided on a more immersive route.
They send his ass to earth to work with the twins on fixing all the different dimensions he killed.
Parallel Dimensions that went wrong
The particular one from the page in the Book of Bill that sparked this idea was the twins in the SBE (Society of the Blind Eye) robes. Just thinking about the twins (and most likely Soos and Wendy) getting inducted that night, and their memories erased. But Dipper's got the journal and he and Mabel are some sort of weird magnet cause they keep running into things. SBE keeps erasing their memories and with such large gaps they start becoming irrationally paranoid about little things. Dipper in particular becomes extremely closed of, "Trust No One" is etched into his mind and even causes him to become afraid of his sister. Things only get worse when Bill starts showing up, trying to get the journal. SBE reveal themself to Dipper and Mabel- and they end up in the robes but the SBE was flawed from the beginning and Dipper couldn't trust the people he needed to when it came down to it. So Bill won.
This is just one of the dimensions... (I have thought through several others but those will probably have to be separate post)
However I think to start the story, the first Dipper to get through and go after the BoB would be the Dipper Gideon kills with the sheers. (We all remember that right... really dark to put him right up front on the page cause I wouldn't have even thought of that as a possibility) This Dipper, a ghost now, is furious he couldn't grow up with his sister. He hates that this other Dipper did get to grow up with Mabel, and got to have the life he wanted.
Basically the whole idea is a buddy comedy between the twins and a much weaker forced to do better Bill. Where all three of them are extremely unhappy about having to work together (Dipper and Mabel would much rather deal with the problem together than with Bill).
We'd get to see Dipper and Mabel grown up as 20 something year old's and learn through new inside jokes and banter what their high school years were like. We get to see how they've changed and in what ways their relationship has grown.
On top of all that we get a pissy Bill having to deal with morals and shit from the twins. - I'm also a sucker for villain turn morally grey turned 'good guy?' and with how the Book of Bill and the website treated his past he could def have a traumatic breakdown over his past and spill his guts to the twins. (whether he feels bad about it could still be up in the air, it could be real or it could be a trick, who knows.)
It'd made a good episodic thing for the first bit because it would focus on one dimension/past at a time. Putting the twins through the emotional ringer of seeing where one little slip up would have changed their lives for the worst- and how it did get worse for the version of them that had to live it.
(I have lots more ideas about this but I will save those for another post, this one is already much longer than I thought it would be.)

Do you think wizards have to pay hospital bills if they go to St. Mungos?
Also kind of in the same line, are there any sort of public services available to wizards? Food stamps? Access to public libraries?
Harry never is sent there himself, so it never gets clarified if they do or they don't. The people we see in there in the long term (Longbottoms and Lockhart) both presumably have funds to cover their stay. The Longbottoms being an old family and Lockhart having made bank on his career of plagiarism.
As for public services, that we have a slightly better idea. We know that Tom Riddle got an orphan's stipend to attend Hogwarts that must have been enough to at least get him his wand, a cauldron, some school robes, and the essentials. It may not have gotten him his textbooks (given we see in HBP that students had both donated or sold books to the school and other students were able to get them there for free) and it may not have gotten him brand new material for anything but the wand (which we know he got new from Ollivander and not secondhand somewhere) but it certainly does help.
We also know that Ron did not get anything despite having come from a poor family who for two years couldn't afford to purchase him his own wand. That said, depending how money is allotted Ron could fall into the following traps 1) maybe stipends are only given to Half-bloods and or Muggle-borns, Ron is a Pureblood 2) Ron might still be considered too wealthy for it. Tom Riddle had nothing, the Weasleys just cycle through money very quickly and may technically have money for Ron's things, but it gets spent on trips to Romania instead. Sucks to be Ron but the laws may decide that he doesn't need help even though he clearly does.
We also know the school provides broomsticks (albeit shitty ones) both to learn and for Quidditch if you don't have your own broom.
And we also know that the Gaunts were living in complete misery, in a cycle of abuse uninterrupted for years, and they were checked in on by the Ministry only when they showed up to arrest people. It was blatantly clear Merope was being abused and had been for years, Bob did nothing/didn't react as if he should do something (neither did Dumbledore our humble memory displayer).
We further know how Neville was thrown out the window to prove if he was or wasn't a Squib, and how he very much would have died without magic. This is a public story, enough that Harry learns it when he's not actually that close to Neville, and no one cares/nothing is done about it.
There also seems to be a prevalent trend that whoever you're born to/live with is whoever you're stuck with.
To me this points that there are some things but it's not what we're familiar with from modern western society for all that the Wizarding World is this weird hybrid of the modern British world, 17th century and older Britain, and its own isolated thing that's been left on its own for centuries.
I imagine most the institutions we're familiar with don't exist (and were once considered quite radical in western society).
Libraries seem to be owned by families in private collections, we see no hint of a public library with Hogwarts being the largest renowned library people mention which does not seem to allow outsiders in any capacity (providing great incentive to be a professor) and we see only one bookstore in the main shopping district (while there are probably others who can get you out of print/rare books, probably in Knockturn Alley, this just points to a very different culture wher books and literacy in general is concerned).
There seems to be no hint of food stamps/food assistance or assistance to impoverished families in general. Perhaps because duplication of food is possible and the prevalent thought is "you should just duplicate the food you have". Regardless, help seems to start and stop at the orphan stipend.
There don't seem to be orphanages period, children go to whoever takes them in as an individual/family. If you're in the Muggle world you stay there and they take care of you.
Basically, the way it works in Harry Potter, is if you don't see something around and Harry doesn't mention it... you're probably safe assuming it doesn't exist.

I saw a tik tok (@ ariaa.cosplay) about Fyodor ripping the page and there was a comment about how this can’t be the real page.
Because Francis said it couldn’t be destroyed.
And so I went back and what Fitzgerald says (chapter 28) is that the book can’t be damaged by any kind of flame or special skill.
Hence the Yokohama incineration plot. It would’ve destroyed the entire city but the book would’ve been left unscathed among the wreckage.
Which does make me question how Fyodor was able to so easily destroy the page.
It being a fake is plausible since we’ve seen how Fyodor managed to duplicate Gozen with it.
So it stands to reason he could also make an imperfect copy of the page to destroy in-front of Atsushi while keeping the real one hidden.
The whole name of his game right now does seem to be pushing Atsushi as far as he can go. And so making him think the page was destroyed would fit that bill.
I also have theorised that he may have done it so Atsushi would inadvertently lead Fyodor to the book. In his desperation to bring his friends back so having the page seemingly destroyed could fit that.
As far as we’re aware the page contains the same capabilities as the book and so destroying it should not be nearly as simple.
Though personally it just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me that he’d actually destroy it to begin with. He does still have that otherside he planned to use
It’s kinda the only reason he’s got this far it’s pretty integral to his whole plan.
But this is the same guy who’s tried to leave this airport like twice without Atsushi who’s the entire lynchpin in his plan.
So who even knows.

//gripe from the brain slave
it is WAY TOO HARD to keep track of all the stuff happening with the pre-book countdown because Alex insists on keeping a bunch of it on twitter AND the Reddit mods on r/gravityfalls are not doing anything about duplicate posting (like, there were THREE threads all posting the same stuff for day 8, come ON) or making a megathread for the event.
So we're all wasting way more time than we did on Cipherhunt, and we're not getting the same 'everyone attacking the same pot' hive mind that we had before.
I don't have the energy to refresh multiple posts looking for tidbits, and I don't patronize Nazi bars (twitter) so what do???
I realize we are not now that strength of old that solved Cipherhunt collectively; the world has changed and a lot of things are shit worse and a lot of old fans are probably not even AWARE of the The Book of Bill - but for heaven's sake. It really hinders decryption and analysis when we all have to spend time hunting for tidbits in other people's posts, too.

On January 14, 2025, the Texas Legislature commenced its 89th regular legislative session to set policy goals and it now leads all other states in pre-filed legislation that would ban books and incarcerate librarians.
We're tracking 14 anti-library and anti-reader bills in the state.
We know that Texas is one of the country's testing grounds for anti-library legislation and that many states have attempted to duplicate their legislation.
The pre-filed legislation reveals that members are prioritizing vouchers that would reduce funding for public schools, criminalization bills that would punish librarians and teachers by eliminating affirmative defenses against prosecution, and legislation that targets booksellers by redefining “harmful materials” in the Texas Penal Code.
During the last legislative session, lawmakers passed HB900 to create a vendor rating system for school library materials and revise school library collection development standards.
If the past legislative session is any indication of how this session will proceed, Texans can expect a lengthy session of infighting and bureaucracy that will attempt to defund libraries and politicize reading.
Censorship hinders democracy by taking away essential freedoms that Texans value.
Your donations have allowed us to support the Texas Freedom to Read Project with pro-bono consulting, training, funding, and digital tools, as they oppose legislation that criminalizes librarians, reduces funding for public education, and takes away local control from communities.
Please follow them for the most up-to-date information about what is happening to libraries and the freedom to read in Texas.

Sofia Carlton
A long, long time ago - back when the Sims Daily was up and running - we had a challenge to take a sim and help them achieve their LTW. And while you did it, you were supposed to world-hop. The first sim I did this with was River Irish. She was done with her mother and her free-loading friend and obnoxious brat, and just wanted to get the hell out of Sunset Valley. Her mother got her a job interview where she worked, but River blew that off and visited the local criminal warehouse in town. Luckily for her, her new associates needed a sap to take some contraband to Barnacle Bay. And River was all in. She eventually did achieve her LTW, and in the process, visited 3 other worlds. It was way easier than I expected, so when I finished with her, I moved on to another sim. Bebe Hart. (She slept her way to the top of the journalism career).
The third sim I chose to play, was that Paris Hilton wannabee in Twinbrook. She was actually a fun little sim to play. Which is why I decided to give her another go.
In the samkat universe, she was away at Uni when she got word that her parents had died mysteriously in a ski accident while visiting their accountant in Hidden Springs. She of course went back home, only to discover that the family home was being sold for unpaid back taxes. When she tried to call good, old "Uncle Bertie," she got the message, "the number you tried to reach is no longer in service." And when she went to the local bank, she discovered that her trust fund had been looted. With no simoleons or house, she turned to her 'friends' - who suddenly didn't answer the door when she knocked or return her calls.
Tumblr media
Luckily for her, Agnes Crumplebottom called and told her that a long, lost relative had left her a "mansion" in Sunset Valley! All she had to do was come to town, sign some papers, and it was hers!
Tumblr media
She also inherited a car - of sorts.
Tumblr media
Not only that, but the house came with a freeloading stray cat named Jinx.
Even though she has a Uni degree - thanks to Nraas, I gave her one in Fine Arts - she really doesn't have any marketable skills. So, no one wants to hire her. I got rid of some of her EA traits - the snob one that I hate, because all they do is stand in front of the mirror all day and the schmoozer one too, since why would she have had to mooch off others when her family was super rich? - and traded them for some others. I gave her the "shy and proper" ones. The proper one, because she came from 'old money,' and I figured her Southern parents taught her manners. The 'shy' one because she was an only child of older parents. I also gave her the bookworm one, since it helps when you're a writer. Then I got rid of the "lucky" one, since she lost everything, and gave her that "hopeless romantic" one instead.
Tumblr media
Luckily for her, the local library has free computers that she can use to write her tell-all books about her no-good, backstabbing ex-friends. Karma's a bitch!
Anyway, I enrolled her as a writer and plan on having her write to pay the bills. She just finished her first book and it's doing pretty good. She won't be able to buy a computer for home use unti she has 5 writing skill points.
As for the house, once she gets 3 gardening skill points, she can start cleaning up the yard. And she'll then be able to clear out the vegetation inside. She'll need 3 handiness points before she can start roof repairs and replacing windows. Plus, she'll need painting skill points. Plus to pay for stuff - such as new windows - she'll be able to sell the old stuff, but will still need enough simoleons to make up the difference for the new, replacement items.
After I moved her in, I stole all of her money. Then I went through all the bookcases and sold duplicate copies of books. I also sold all of the paintings and most of the furniture so that she could buy some things for her cat. I let her keep the bed in the master bedroom, the 2 chairs in the library, and the smaller sofa, a chair and coffee table in the living room. I also took all the food out of the frig and had her visit the local greenhouse - that store venue - to pick some free veggies. I figured any food that had been in the frig would have spoiled ages ago. Plus, by making her forage for food, she learned the gardening skill.
I was actually kind of impressed with this little sim. She started picking up all the trash and clothes that had been strewn throughout the house without any prompting from me. Then she went outside and started picking up trash in the yard. I did help her get rid of the cobwebs in the rooms that she cleaned up - since they are deco items and sims can't remove them. But Ieft the ones in the rooms she hadn't cleaned.
Anyway, I'll see how this goes.
