guess what I'm cooking...
(Actually it's already cooked and if you followed me on bsky you probably have already seen the end result! But I want to post it here over the weekend so hopefully it will get more views?)
AU rambling below the cut
OG: Nothing special here. Canonically I'm not sure if this is a question that can be thrown peacefully when both the Malto Terrans and Chaos Terrans are present lmao. I think it would be cooler if the Chaos Terrans don't get officially adopted and explore a different way of existing on Earth, but maybe get onto more friendly terms with the Maltos and mutually support each other. Them being "family" here is just a thing for the video.
RBA: They are actually quite a family in this universe!! I mean it's RBA after all (probably a version of RBA in which Optimus didn't tattoo the Autobot insignia on Laserbeak). I hope people notice that in this AU Thrash is holding Tough Luck Chuck instead of Fluffy Ears and if you do I hope you chuckle a bit. (Fluffy Ears does exist in this AU but I just want to pay some respect to dear ol' Chuck.)
Production Bible: I love their designs in this one and I actually kinda copied the production bible's artstyle. I thought about making this a universe with 0 Aftermath but 3 Twitches, but ran out of time to draw the third one, so now "Spitfire" just looks sad and alone, aww.
Percy Jackson AU: This is an AU I made up when watching S1 so no Chaos Terrans here - hey they could be Romans!! Anyways, Hashtag is a Hermes kid and the tablet is a gift from her father with some protection installed so it doesn't attract monsters. Twitch is obviously a Nike kid and received the golden wings from her mom. Nightshade might not be so obvious but hey it'd be a waste of owl and spider for them to not be an Athena kid. (And yes the AU actually started off from the thought "imagine Athena kid!Nightshade befriending Arachnid son!Tarantulas..." I'm not a huge fan of bonding Nightshade to Tarantulas but I find this idea cool. Maybe Tarantulas is just Closter in this AU.) Thrash and Jawbreaker are left intentionally ambiguous because they are unclaimed in this AU. JB is a fire-breathing giant. He's the same age of the rest of them but acts more childish because giants develops slower than humans.
Also have another random piece I did a long time ago for the PJ AU.

Me: *staring at a wip that I've had open all year, meticulously working on it, editing, and smoothing out the wrinkles* Ah, yes, it should be done soon!
Also Me: I need to rewrite the entire plot of this chapter. It works better this way. I literally cannot leave the plot how it has been these past 11 months. *throws a year's worth of work into the digital void*
I am banging my head on a wall. WHY IS IT LIKE THIS
#i've been pretty split between fandoms lately#wanting to work on my fop criminal au lost demons and bite-sized#and then i watched transformers one#the movie hit me with all the force of a train and shot me back into the transformers fandom#which happened to be the fandom of a work i've been dabbling in on and off all year#it's a canon rewrite for rid2015#so i've been making sure the second chapter fits in canon#that it makes sense and everyone is in character#with some minor edits because rid did things to bee and optimus that i have not forgiven#anyway#about a week ago i decided that i'd be doing my last round of additions and edits#and then yesterday happened#i had just finished up rewatching rescue bots#and was starting to rewatch earthspark#now with my sibling#and it hit me#the character upon which my fic focuses one would not be where he is when he is where i wrote him#rewriting the whole damn thing so sunstreaker isn't actually present for that second half of the pilot as well#it makes more sense if he shows up after and just goes#“what the hell sideswipe?!”#and that's his introduction to everyone#russell included

This gives off major Give up/Give in vibes

Give Up/Give In Pt 16
Earthspark Megatron x Reader
• Smiling when you laugh softly from your perch watching him fit the stairs into place and carefully welding them to the shelf, he glances over at you. Venting softly before frowning at his handiwork. Finding the metal staircase in a building slated for demolition had been a bit of luck. A junkyard had supplied a faded green couch that he’d had to pitch outside after you’d figured out that it had come with mice. Still can’t help but smile remembering the way you’d screamed. And he’d whipped around, cannon humming to life afraid Starscream or Soundwave had found him, that you were in danger, only to realize you were screaming about something small enough to fit in your hand. The rest of the furniture is stuff he’d stolen from Ghost. And it looks so spartan. Nowhere near enough.
• Legs swinging, you watch him assembling you your own space. And it’s adorable how serious he is about it. Know he’s got to have better things to do than play interior designer for you, but he doesn’t seem to mind. “I’ll see about liberating more soft things,” he murmurs and you smile. You’d already guessed liberating probably means stealing. “Try to make this a bit more cozy.” Something about the big, former warlord saying ‘cozy’ in that growling brogue of his twists through you. His voice just so soothing to you.
• “Really. It’s fine,” you say, face tipped up toward him when he straightens. And you smile at him to drain away all of his tension. “I don’t want to be a bother.” Reaching for you, he offers his hands and you cautiously slide into them, catching at a servo for balance. Cupping you against his chassis as he walks outside, he tells himself it’s so you feel supported and safe in his hands. Not because he wants to feel your heartbeat against him. Because holding you, having your trust feels like being forgiven for his past.
• “You never need to apologize to me. And you’re no burden,” he growls as he steps up to the edge. And your heart is racing as you look out over the rest of the mountain range, wind teasing at your hair. You can see the town, but it’s so small. Far away and unreal seeming. Right now, you feel more free than you’ve ever felt in your life. Because all your responsibilities and worries are down there so distant they can’t touch you.
• “We could go flying,” you say and he smiles at that. Wants you to ask him for things, to let him know what you need. And he remembers the feel of you safely tucked inside his alt mode. There has been something so satisfying about having you there, felt almost intimate even though Dorothy and her family have been in his alt mode at times and it had never felt like that before. Cupping his hands around you, he leaps and you cry out when he transforms carefully around you, rumbling as he shifts around you so you end up in the pilot’s seat. “Never do that again without warning me, please,” you whisper with a shudder as he swings lazily over the mountains. Watching your fear shift to wonder when you lean forward to look out. Smiling again and he needs this. Needs your happiness because it feels like the forgiveness that he doesn’t deserve.

So an interesting detail was revealed about the TFONE Quintessons.

It would appear, according to staff on the movie, that the ships are actually living, organic creatures.
By extension, going by their design similarities, the TFONE Quintessons are likely fully organic themselves.

Prior to the Quintus Prime origin, it was never clear where the Quintessons came from but their designs are clearly mechanical.
Japanese media would offer an explanation of sorts, in the Controverse manga.

In this story Primacron, the ancient sea monkey alien that created Unicron and later Tornedron in the G1 cartoon, would stake the claim that he created ALL mechanical life. When the Quintesson Judge calls this out, Primacron calmly responds that he created mechanical bacterial life once and surmises those creatures became the Quintesson race.
Further manga would reveal this is true, and go the extra mile by revealing Primus and Primacron were ancient beings that existed in the universe prior to the Big Bang (mirroring a similar idea in the Marvel comics).

Primacron was originally Primus’ pet, but as his intellect grew, and so did his ambitions, and once the old universe died and ours was born, Primacron would enslave his former master in what would become The Matrix of Leadership, and it would grant life to his mechanical creations, the Beast Mode Primitives, the Quintessons and Unicron.

It would appear most modern media opts go instead cast the Quintessons as organic creatures, created by Quintus Prime’s Emberstone, that pilot mechanical suits.

Cyberverse’s take on the Judges also goes an extra mile, similar to Primacron, revealing that these Quintessons are born by fusing five distinct lifeforms together, all chosen to judge a universe accordingly. This is depicted by using Starscream as the dominant component….

But unlike the wholly mechanical Judge seen before, Starscream’s Judge form has organic components, with other organic races in the Greys and Velgrox.
While there’s an argument the G1 Quints might be biomechanical, it’s never been clearly defined with Cyberverse Quint Starscream more plainly leaning in that direction.
As for the organic technology present among the TFONE Quints, that potentially has two origins.
The more famous one are the Trans-Organics, the prototype race the Quintessons developed before making the Consumer Goods and Military Hardware robots that would become The Transformers.

A cyborg like race of primitive animals, they were unable to accomplish basic tasks, and gave into their beast like savagery, destroying several Quints before they were sealed away deep within Cybertron.
In the modern era, a group of Quintessons opted to free their ancient beasts of burden, tricking Galvatron into unleashing them so that the Trans-Organics may destroy the Transformers, allowing the Quints to reclaim Cybertron. Inevitability this fails, with the Quints done in by the Dweller beast, an energy vampire worm Trans-Organic.

The Dweller is the most famous one, and spawned other counterparts seen in Cyberverse and EarthSpark, with the EarthSpark versions being a race native to Quintessa, typing it back to its origins.

The second inspiration, if potentially coincidental, could be GI Joe’s Cobra-La.

The GI Joe movie would reveal Cobra had its origins in Cobra-La, an ancient race of snake people that were the original dominant species of Earth before us mammalian humans evolved.
Cobra Commander is native to Cobra-La, originally being a snake man scientist who became mutated in a lab accident before becoming leader of the snake themed terrorist organization that’d slither into America.

He’s further mutated as punishment for his failure in taking over the world in Cobra-La’s name, slow mutating into a cobra.

While the DiC sequel series would see him restored, albeit still as a mutant snake man.

Presumably CC’s still a snake dude when he briefly menaces in the G1 Movie era Autobots as Old Snake.

Anyhow, the relevance to the Cobra-Laians and Quintessons, is the former use organic based technology. Basically, this means they create specially developed animals to use in place of tools, bridges & vehicles.

@bogleech’s own post on Cobra-La discusses other examples of their technology: https://bogleech.com/cobrala
In the GI Joe film, the Cobra-La people are disgusted by humanity’s use of inorganic machinery, and opt to eradicate humans and reclaim the land that was theirs prior to the Ice Age.
In the Energon Universe, this prejudice exists still for humans, as Cobra Commander is instead a human that lives in their ranks, but they’re more offended by the existence of the Transformers after CC’s science team dug out a frozen Megatron to study him.
Aghast at a cold, mechanical planet populated by giant metallic robots, Cobra-La sends Pythona aboard a space fairing … whatever this fella is…

… to Cybertron to nip this so called invasion in the bud.
It would appear she takes a semi unintentional detour, dealing with matters in the Void Rivals series first, where she’s set to battle the Skuxxoid in particular. (I’d laugh if she became the wife he constantly talks about.)

The Quints and Cobra-La sharing the concept of organic technology is honestly very interesting, and while I do think it was created independently of GI Joe, should more TFONE content be made and the Transformers and Quintessons go to Earth, a further connection to Cobra-La would be really cool.
It’s theorized in the Energon Universe that the Quintessons could’ve created or at least influenced the Cobra-La people, and such an idea isn’t unheard of, as the Zertonians and Agorrians of Void Rivals are revealed to be descendants of Transformers via a new character called Zerta Trion. It’s implied but not yet totally confirmed the Quintessons created the Transformers also via the G1 cartoon as well, and I just think it’d be hilarious if the proud, organic Cobra-La people would discover they’re related to the fully mechanical Transformers via the Quintessons and be utterly mortified. (I don’t think they’d like their Zertonian/Agorrian cousins much either since, despite being organic they have technology based Energon ports on their heads.)
Incidentally it feeds into a personal headcanon regarding EarthSpark, since MARS Industries exists here, that Quintus Prime used the Emberstone to seed life on Earth that would one day evolve into Cobra-La, making them relatives to the Terrans, Quintessons, and Lithonians (the later because Quintus reminds me of Kranix for some reason).

Turtle Con 2025 Information from Ciro! There's some TMNT stuff in here too.
Disclaimer: Ciro was on 3 hours of sleep and said that he has not watched the show in a long time and does not remember things. He joked that when he rewatches the episodes then he can answer questions. I asked if he was gonna do an AMA and he didn't answer.
Character Heights, he gave some numbers but it was more spit balling than serious
Chiro: 4'10"
Regular Jinmay: "a little bit shorter than that"
Giant Jinmay: 120 ft
Monkeys: 1'6" is still reasonable
Skeleton King: 7 ft
Alchemist: 6 ft
Super Robot: 125 ft
Is Krinkle alive?
"I like to think so".
Does he know of any figures from the Hasbro toyline that where scrapped/unreleased? or just unreleased merchandise overall.
He mentioned the Fist Rockets, maybe saw a prototype for the Brain Scrambler, and the Super Robot. I think he was aware of Slingshot and Skeletal Droid.
He owns some of the prototypes of the figures, but not all.
Were there any other voice actors he considered to voice the monkeys before he settled on the finalized voice cast?
Joey Adams was who voiced Nova in the pilot and he liked her, but doesn't exactly remember the reason why she didn't end up Nova. He thinks it's because she became unavailable due to her being in a movie.
He actually asked me if I saw the pilot first, so I think he is aware the pilot is up or just didn't think it mattered if it was.
Was Lords of Soturix 7 originally supposed to be a season 1 episode?
His initial answer was no, but when I asked about the contradiction of him learning to use the Inner Primate after Hidden Fortress/Skeleton King, he said he does not remember and would need to fact check.
Were any episodes that changed order like they were originally supposed to be in a certain spot but ended up moved?
He doesn’t know or remember, but he mentioned that some episodes didn’t really matter if they changed the order of.
"It's been years".
What does Ciro remember the most about working on SRMTHFG? What was the most memorable/fun/enjoyable part of working on it for him?
He said he remembered it being really hard 😅 He also mentioned how he worked to get the budget up to 262k per episode and how he had to work double time to make things work.
The most memorable/fun/enjoyable part was living in Japan for the first season of the show.
Art book/Behinds the scene information?
An artbook would probably be impossible because of Disney
He has a lot of art and stuff he could potentially put up, but he doesn't have a lot of time.
Was Jinmay one of the robots that The Alchemist managed to build with his workmates or is there another mastermind with the same purposes?
No, another mastermind was behind Jinmay. He seemed pretty definite that Jinmay wasn’t built by the Alchemist.
Was Chiro's early days with the monkeys ever a planned storyline that never padded out?
He just responded that it sounds interesting, so it sounded like it wasn’t particularly planned
Does Mandarin or Antauri have an inner primate form like Chiro does? Since we never see them use it in the show.
He actually said that we sort of saw it for Antauri when he sacrificed himself in I, Chiro.
He mentioned it would be interesting to see for Mandarin and also the rest of the monkeys.
How much time did you have to revamp the show from the pilot to the completed version?
He said they rolled right in.
Did he have any influence on the season 1 finale of Earthspark and if SRMTHFG would have followed something similarly?
No, he was mostly brought in as management and was already gone when they got that far. He didn't have much to do with it.
How did the show switch from flash animation to traditional animation?
He didn't want it to be flash and switched it and he got in trouble for it.
Is there an IP you would like to work on?
Evil Dead.
Was Valeena always planned to be such a prominent villain in season 4?
No, I don't know, it's nice to have someone to talk to.
Clarification on Antauri's transcendance on touch, taste, breath, temperature.
"He's not a full robot". He's elevated to a different state.
"Maybe, guess not, not in a normal sense".
Does Antauri miss those sensations?
Ciro looked like he was thinking very hard over it.
"He's beyond all that. He doesn't need a physical body to feel".
Were there any ideas for Mandarin that wasn't used?
No, he has a "complete arc". You would have to see more through flashbacks.
Does he know about the sacrifice theory?
No.
After I explained it to him, he said it sounded interesting and cool, but not real.
He's not familiar with other fan theories.
Was there any more lore on the Beings that chose Chiro and Skeleton King/created the Dark Ones engaged in cosmic good vs evil war or was that going to remain a mystery?
No, they didn't get to it.
Are Chiro's parents currently in Shuggazoom City?
No, they're not in the city.
It's hard to say if they're on the planet.
Did the Verons and Ah-fei understand the monkeys pre-translator?
No, they didn't need to speak.
Are there regular populated cities on Shuggazoom other than Shuggazoom City?
Yes.
Don't need to explore all the cities; Shuggazoom City represents it.
What are the monkeys' thoughts towards the Alchemist before memory erasure?
They liked him and thought of him like a father.
Did the monkeys know the Alchemist was turning into Skeleton King and that they would have to fight him?
No, they did not know they were going to fight him.
What was up with Weird World of Wyrm? (2k12 TMNT episode that was basically Meet the Wigglenog)
Brandon did it. They were super busy and they both loved Meet the Wigglenog and wanted to do it better and so did it again.
What is his favorite character to draw?
For TMNT: He said the turtles are fun, but he's drawn them so much. Splinter is nice.
For SRMT: Otto and the Super Robot.:
Why didn't they make a musical episode?
He said that sounds like a season 5 episode, but it sounded like a joke haha.
Why were numbers added to celestial bodies? Does Shuggazoom have its own system for naming them or was it developed elsewhere?
I don't know. It's to sound cool.
Why do the monkeys have breathing gear underwater but nothing in space?
Well, they can't have water in their lungs...
But they can have nothing in space?
He was exasperated and said he was in his 20s when he made the show and that these were riddles, not questions.
So they can breathe in space but not underwater???
He joked that was correct.
Which was your favorite episode to direct and write?
I, Chiro maybe.
Other:
The two Mandarins in The Grip of Evil was a mistake.
Chiro wears a mask.
Nothing was cut out of the show during production due to Disney.
Nova's name was inspired by the star, but not specifically. Don't know if "Nova star" is in that universe.
Otto's name just suits Otto. He said it was a sound thing.
The monkeys are able to use each others' weapons.
2k12 TMNT was supposed to be 2D, but Nickelodeon made it CG and CG wasn't at the level Ciro wanted yet.
He's hoping he can do a backdoor thing for a monkey team sequel.
He views all the companies he worked for as the same.
Antauri is drinking sprite from his soda hat and it's a gag to not be taken seriously.

Transformers Earthspark: Another Place, Another Prison
Got another chapter where it switches from Megs to Star, although they don't actually interact again yet this time lol. This one ended up being pretty long, and I split a section that was originally in this chapter off into its own. Cuz i hadn't planned Meg's section in my first outline, but it felt p necessary to add.
Megs is a bit salty, Prowl kinda wants to do a moida, Optimus is an optimistic bean, and Starscream is fucking tired of all this shit-
I swear dude it is getting increasingly hard to decide on screenshots for these chapters-
Previous Chapter: A Broken Boogeyman
First Chapter: The Need For Read
Next Chapter: Settling Into Circumstance
Chapter 8: The Illusion of Freedom
Once they had finally managed to tranquilize Starscream through his absurd amount of flailing, Megatron had carried his mangled frame to the medbay. Arcee was seen to by Wheeljack first, of course. Megatron had found himself on auto pilot as he watched and waited until he could finally release the seeker from his periodically tense hold.
Soon enough, Elita-1 took Arcee to a separate room to lie down, and Megatron carefully approached to place Starscream on the medberth. Leaked Energon dripped from Megatron’s servos and spotted the ground. He stared down at it. Then back at Starscream.
“Are you alright, Megatron?” Optimus’ servo was suddenly upon his shoulder and he flinched.
“Ah– Yes. Yes of course…” He responded with a gentle brushing away of the attempt at comfort from the sentimental mech. Megatron’s gaze flickered only momentarily to address the question before falling back upon the air commander. The sparking, practically entirely severed, crushed limb. The scorched, leaking chasm in the wing. Every dent, crack, and burn.
“Would you like to be given a quick check at least? You took quite the blow yourself–”
“No.” Megatron snapped a bit too forcefully with a hand raised to silence him, then in-vented in a practiced means at cooling his nerves. “Starscream requires such attention more than I, at the moment.”
Wheeljack shrugged as he turned back towards the medberth with newly acquired materials. “Alrighty then. Might I ask y’all what ol’ Screamer did ta get this banged up?”
“How about you focus on your work instead of bothering yourself with such details, medic.” Megatron forcefully kept his tone as monotone as he could. He often tired of how needlessly talkative the Autobots could be. There was no reason to talk about such things after it had already been done. How would describing just how Starscream had severed his own ped from his frame, in some insane act of desperation, possibly aid in repairing it?
Prowl looked as if he was ready to berate him for the comment for some reason or another. He was only stopped by Optimus inserting himself between them with his more softly toned criticism, “I know you are concerned Megatron, but do refrain from lashing out at your team. Perhaps you should take a seat, and we all may discuss the past hour’s events.”
Megatron’s optical ridge furrowed as the frown deepened on his face. He had hardly lashed out. These mechs could be so sensitive. Even so, he knew Optimus was right. Perhaps it would be good to discuss it, to some regard. There were a good deal of things to consider, in a matter of building upon what the future would hold as a result. That must have been what Wheeljack had meant all along. Megatron’s anger had always been quite a volatile thing to balance.
“Fine.” He inevitably relented to join Optimus and Prowl at a cluster of crates used in place of chairs.
“Yeesh, I’d bet we could cut this tension y’all got goin’ on with the dullest knife in the bottom of my tool box.” Wheeljack commented ridiculously, but at least he was finally beginning the patch job as he should. Then, as the mech actually gave more precise focus to his work, he hummed and tapped at a few select places on Starscream’s chassis. The most noticeable being the odd red cracks extending down from the optics. “This ain’t any of your doin’ I reckon.” As he tested it with a scalpel, Starscream tensed and a reactive crimson light shone dimly from somewhere within his broken cockpit.
Megatron’s eyes widened, “Leave that be.” He ordered, but then remembered again that it might be better to give more explanation. “...He seems to still be connected to the effects of the more chaotic side of the Emberstone. It would be wise not to test it, as we do not know what exactly triggers the episodes.”
“Did you know about this?” Prowl questioned in a rather accusatory tone.
“Only recently.”
“That is soon enough to inform your team of the obvious threat! How could you just let such a thing linger, and wait until it explodes on us?” Prowler’s stance was practically revving to jump from his seat, as he leaned forward just enough to gesture a servo in Megatron’s direction around Optimus.
Optimus of course, raised his hands placatingly to diffuse the growing situation. “Megatron informed me about what he had seen as soon as he could, Prowl. We simply underestimated what it could entail.”
Prowler immediately reeled himself in to assume a more professional posture, “I see… Well. I must admit, Optimus sir, that I also find it a bit strange that we brought such a clearly volatile Decepticon here to be repaired. Would it not just be a waste, when as soon as he’d come back online he’d no doubt cause us continued trouble? If we cannot keep him contained in the brig, and we cannot nullify whatever power he has harnessed, then it would be the most effective solution to simply terminate him.”
Megatron clenched his fists and glowered his optics. “Effective…?” He breathed in a near whisper at the absolute gall of the proposition. As an infamous Decepticon trapper, was that how this mech had orchestrated his operations during the war? Execution merely based on fear? Or an overt disregard for the lives of their enemy if they outlived their supposed usefulness, or tipped some untold scale of risk? Optimus would never allow such a thing!
Then again, the Decepticons had carried out such orders towards Autobots during the war as well. The realization made his shoulders slump as a more somber air replaced his anger. There…could be some logic in Prowl’s query, he supposed. He was certainly no mech to judge the thought, after all.
Regardless, Megatron would not allow what he’d just witnessed to be left to become yet another regret to haunt his processor. Starscream was not beyond redemption. He was sick. There had to be something they could do. Megatron couldn’t simply toss Starscream to the Pit this time. He wouldn’t.
“We do not terminate our prisoners.” Optimus started with an assured lilt in his tone as he kept Megatron in the edge of his vision. “Instead, we must determine an alternative approach.”
The plainly obvious statement left both Megatron and Prowl staring at the Prime silently. To Prowler’s credit, he seemed to be having a thousand thoughts running through his head in some effort to piece together the answer. Megatron only found his own thoughts rather blank. He wasn’t sure what they could do. What would be the best way to handle Starscream’s erratic nature? Not to mention the strange affliction the seeker had given himself. Who would Starscream possibly be swayed by?
…The Terrans?
Finally, Prowler spoke up as he realized that it seemed they were all waiting for someone else to make the next move. Although only in an effort to gain some clarification from his leader. “Which would be…what, sir?” Perhaps he had become more hesitant to voice his own choice of action.
Optimus pulled a servo to his chin in a contemplative gesture, “Hm, I admit I am a bit unsure in that regard.”
“Well, if ya ask me, the only other place we really have in the matter of alternative accommodations would be with those Malto’s.” Wheeljack contributed whilst still amidst his tinkering. An admittedly impressive feat. “Now I know it may seem a bit risky to let our con commander here ‘round the kids, but I’m sure we all know how capable they can be.”
“Oh, yes, perhaps some access to the outdoors could aid Starscream after being cooped up for so long. Like what I was telling you earlier, Megatron!” Optimus motioned to him with a flick of his antennae and a grin as if he alone had come to that revelation. Megatron couldn’t help but give a small, fond smile at the mech.
Prowler took in a long breath, oddly similar to Megatron’s own methods at stabilizing himself, and realigned his previously lost optics to be flat, and rather resigned. “I will trust your judgment.” Then he stood with a new pace of determination on his faceplate. “However, if we will indeed be proceeding with such a course of action, I will insist on precautionary measures.”
“I’d expect nothing less.” Optimus watched his tactician rummage through their supplies, with a newfound gleam of hope in his eyes. Then, he turned his attention to Megatron, “What do you think? Do you believe this approach could work?”
He hesitated a moment as he pondered over his words, “Well… the thought did come to my own mind, in passing. Starscream had shown some strange fondness towards the Terrans… at least Hashtag, to my knowledge. Despite what he had done. She had been able to bring out something within him once. I do not doubt it possible again.”
Optimus nodded and followed Megatron’s wandering gaze towards the seeker. Wheeljack had just about finished smoothing out the patch on the wing, and was now arranging to replace the cracked cockpit. Did repairs always take this long?
“I will contact Bumblebee to get him up to speed on the new arrangement.” Optimus announced as he took to his peds and made his way towards the door.
“Hm, yes.” Megatron ceased his anxious tapping and stood to join him. “I will call Dorothy. She will no doubt have some grievances to be quelled about the idea.”
The medbay door closed behind them, and they each took to their own spot in the hall to make their calls. Megatron placed a digit to his helm and sent the signal to Dorothy’s cell. His comm played a little rhythmic tune of sorts as he waited for a response. It was just as mundanely aggravating as the concept of elevator music. He should really disconnect that silly feature.
Finally, Dorothy’s voice came through with her signature greeting, “What’s up Megs?”
“Hello, Dorothy. There is something we must discuss as a result of a recent development. Regarding Starscream.” Megatron was relieved to hear his friend's voice, yet also knew just how precarious this conversion was bound to become.
“That right?” She of course quickly caught on to the anxious air.
“Yes, he had tried to escape, and…it was quite the spectacle. He was just about ready to die before allowing himself to return to his cell. I admit, it was rather startling. So, we have come to the decision that perhaps time elsewhere could serve him better.” Megatron tapped his finger against the railing as he attempted to filter his thoughts, and prepare for her response to them. “Under the supervision of you and your family.”
“Really now? Are you honestly telling me that the best idea you’ve got, is to send that maniac here, around my kids? Megs…”
“I know…But I do believe your children to be the exact influence he needs. As it has been, his mental state has only seemed to worsen which only aids to increase the danger he poses. We can’t simply send him back to the brig where he just may as well do something foolish.”
“You’re worried about him.” They both remained quiet for a moment. He wasn’t sure if he could admit it, but she understood as she so often did. Dorothy sighed, obviously still unsure, but willing to relent nevertheless. “Okay. If you’re sure. I’ll discuss it with the rest of them. But you’ll have to promise me–that bot won’t ever be allowed to hurt any of my babies again. Got that? You have a plan, don’t you?”
“Yes. I promise.”
***
Everything ached. That wasn’t exactly new. Although the lingering pain in a peculiar corner in his spark was certainly…something.
Starscream groaned as his systems struggled to come back online with at the very least, adequately functional sensors. Sound was garbled like a horribly received connection that he needed to internally adjust until it could make any form of sense. When he tried to begin onlining his optics, it was revoltingly bright, and he had to once again filter through his settings to find something tolerable.
Where was he?
What had happened?
…Why couldn’t he move?
A gripping fear suddenly strangled his spark as he realized that he couldn’t bring his servo to his faceplate, and his wings felt far too cramped as they were pressed against some constricting surface.
Starscream pulled at the clamps holding him firmly in place. Not again. He was not going to be those humans’ robotics projects. He desperately cycled his optics to try and make sense of his surroundings. He could hear the steps and chaotic chatter of those vermin all around him. There was equipment beside him. What were they going to do this time? Whatever it was, he wasn’t going to lay there and take it.
An oddly large shadow loomed over him with extending servos. Mandroid’s voice echoed in his audials, “Struggle all you like. But it will not change your fate.”
Starscream yanked painfully against the brace on his wrist until a burst of energy allowed him to break it and throw a punch at the offending silhouette. He wanted to shout some deserved obscenities at the pest, but his voice box wouldn’t work. When his fist connected with metal, he assumed he’d simply been blocked, which infuriated him. That fissure in his spark stabbed through his frame, and he began to shake ridiculously. What was that? Wait. His free servo was stuck again. And his digits were being individually bent in some odd pattern, for some reason.
Then, he started to hear a voice he hadn’t heard in quite some time, calling his designation. “--Scream, Starscream! Hey, c’mon, what’s goin’ on in that crazy processor of yours? Calm down will ya?” Wheeljack? Why was he here?
Starscream blinked. Something wasn’t right. He tried his best to steady his vents as he focused on the ridiculous sensation the mech insisted on inflicting on his servo. Eventually, he could finally make out the white, red, and green overseeing him. As well as a second pair of Autobots across the room. Prowl, and the Prime.
Right. This was the Autobot base. Not G.H.O.S.T.'s.
Well that was embarrassing.
Starscream’s wings twitched, as much as they could given his position. Wheeljack looked some type of determined. A reflexive response no doubt. Prowl looked a mix of surprised and appalled, it was actually quite hilarious– except that Prime’s stupid face ruined it. He didn’t need nor want that self-righteous mech’s pity.
“Ya with us there Screamer?” Wheeljack asked more directly as he finally began to release Starscream’s servo.
He stared at him, confused and a bit annoyed. Had he not already given them a response? What sort of question was that?
Ah, apparently it would seem as though his vocalizer was still on the fritz. Starscream raised a servo as indication that he needed a moment as he recalibrated his voice box. This was pathetic.
When he only managed to sputter beeps and clicks, red sparks flared off him angrily a moment as he punched his chassis until the words could be forced out. Wheeljack chastised him for it, but frag him. “WHAT–” Starscream adjusted his volume– “What, is going on here?” Had they really brought him to their technician after he’d almost escaped? That seemed absurd. Perhaps they’d implanted a remote explosive somewhere in his frame.
“Well, I fixed ya up, added Prowl’s little boot, and those two got a deal for ya. Sorry ‘bout the restraints.” Wheeljack began to release him from the medberth. None of this was answering his question. “We weren’t sure if ya’d go immediately ballistic or somethin’ when ya woke up.”
Prowl crossed his arms. “I’d say we were certainly right to do so.”
As Starscream stood, he just about stumbled with a wave of disorientation, but skillfully used it to transition into a snarky servo to a tilted hip. “Of course.” He glared at them until he noticed how one of his peds felt heavier than it should, and lifted it to complain. “But what on Cybertron is this, for?” Then he remembered Wheeljack’s previous statement and straightened himself with an air of guarded curiosity. “And what is this about a deal?”
“That,” Prowl gestured to the ugly, boxy device attached to Starscream’s ped, “Is insurance. All you need to know, is that if you try anything with that power of yours, that device will render you imobile.”
“It tracks your sparkbeat, power surges, fun stuff like that.” Wheeljack listed on a pair of digits, which Prowl didn’t seem too happy about. “I promise it won’t blow up or nothin’!” Coming from this mech, such a promise hardly meant anything.
“Yes, you have my utmost confidence, Wheeljack.” Starscream rolled his optics tiredly, then kicked his ped in a display of his distaste for the accessory. “It is entirely impractical. How do you expect me to transform with this blasted thing?!”
“Exactly.” Prowler crossed his arms with an expression void of any sympathy. Primus did his faceplate look punchable.
Starscream whined with a slight slump to his wings, before the Prime interjected himself to continue the dreadful conversation. “In regards to the deal, we have decided that you will no longer be staying in the brig.” Starscream perked at this, although couldn’t help but be skeptical. “Instead, you will stay with the Malto family.”
That was not exactly what he was expecting.
Starscream stared blankly at them a moment before remembering to speak, “...What will such an arrangement entail, exactly?” Surely it was some new scheme of theirs to pacify him. He didn’t trust it.
The Prime seemed oddly surprised by his response, then took a step forward, an action of which Starscream forced himself to not reactively back away from. “Well, given your obvious distress, we thought you’d benefit from the opportunity to have access to the outdoors. You could perhaps learn to appreciate what Earth has to offer. Observe how well a family made of transformers and humans can function. My hope, is that it could be your own path towards redemption alongside Megatron!”
Starscream’s faceplate scrunched in disgust at the mention of his former leader. “Redemption. Right.” Although the prospect of appreciating Earth would be laughable.
Prowler sent him a discrete glare with narrowed optics. The Prime only looked like a kicked cyberdog. Perhaps they were hoping he’d get on his knees to praise their ever expansive mercy. That he should thank them for such an offer. As if it even were one. This wasn’t a deal. It was an order.
He in-vented steadily before preparing them a smile, and arranging a loose, confident posture as he strode towards them. “That sounds just wonderful.” He crooned in a disguised taunt as he slid by Prowl, then practically danced around the Prime. “I promise to be on my best behavior! I am truly honored that you all have decided to permit my grand exit from your lovely accommodations. Such a gracious act, that I will make certain not to let go to waste, I assure you!” Starscream led the way out of the medbay with the two bots trailing behind him.
“You’d better not.” Prowl commented in a cute little threat as he split away from them.
“What he means is,” The Prime began as he caught up by Starscream’s side, “This could be a very important step in us truly being able to trust you, Starscream. Which would in turn lead to the possibility of your true freedom, and permanent alliance with the Autobots, if you so choose.”
Starscream scrutinized the mech from the corner of his optic, and held his servos behind him professionally. If they actually wanted his alliship as the Prime proclaims, they would have accepted his offer back at the Titan. They’d only pulled this out of their afts now out of newly realized necessity, after the rather explosive display he’d given them. They didn’t care. They just wanted to control him. All it was is a new, creative way of containing him. They couldn’t con a con.
“Yes, I’m sure that is what he meant.” It was clear sarcasm, and yet he aligned his vocalizer to imitate pure sincerity. Well, as much as he could.
The Prime actually looked a touch annoyed with partially lowered optical lids. How amusing. “I do urge you to take this seriously. You realize the risk involved in this.”
Starscream scoffed in half feigned offense with a servo to his chassis. “Of course I do. Do you take me for a fool?”
The Prime hesitated as if an affirmation of the rhetorical question floated just behind his intake. Rude. Regardless, they eventually came upon their first destination that consisted of a trailer, and those two Autobot femmes. That was foreboding.
“Ready when you are Optimus.” The one he recognized to be identified as Elita-1, reported stoically.
With the uncomfortably upbeat Arcee adding, “So we’re really doing this? Y’know– you and I really should have a rematch sometime Screamer! You can’t pull a cheap shot on me twice!” She apparently saw it appropriate to approach him and throw her arm around his neck to pull his helm down close to hers. She prodded his chassis to emphasize her challenge, but the energy she exuded was beyond confusing. “I. Will. Destroy you.” There was a painful pause as her touch lingered. “But that's fun for another day!” Then she finally broke away from him to flip into her alt mode beside the trailer.
Starscream hadn’t realized just how tense he had become until his wings flicked back into place and he chuckled anxiously. His blasted vocalizer cracked again. “Oh yes, fun! I– look forward to it…” He examined the situation before him and regarded the open trailer with contempt. Especially when the Prime began leading him towards it. “Is this–” He gestured to the metal box– “Really necessary? Surely we could simply walk-”
“Nope.” Elita-1 slapped a servo to his arm and yanked him down to be shoved inside. What was with these femmes in tossing him around! And who designed this blasted trailer! It was like being stuck in a fragging compactor.
“Apologies, Starscream, but without access to your alt form, this is the most efficient means of transportation.” The Prime said stupidly as the trailer was tilted to be adjusted onto his frame.
Starscream was sealed inside this absurdly small containment for obviously no more reason than their own amusement. His wings were pulled in tightly with mere centihics between him and the walls. There was absolutely no, fragging, way, to get comfortable in the slagging thing. The walls were too close. The most he could do was have one knee lifted halfway with one servo placed upon it while he leaned at an awkward slant so he didn’t ram his helm on the top. He felt stupid. It was too slagging cramped in this mistake of manufacturing.
Primus Starscream wished Skywarp and Novastorm had destroyed it when they’d had the chance. He was certainly going to make it his first act of justified pettiness on these Auto-glitches, to blow it into melting slag the nano-klick he got his missiles back.

Transformers Mischaracterisations, part 1: Megatron and Starscream
In these series of threads, I plan to discuss and debunk several pieces of fanon and misinterpretations that are prevalent in the transformers fandom at large. why? Because I find that mischaracterisations make it impossible to have analysis discussions about transformers, and are often tedious.
Before you interact, This is meant to be respectful, mature place to conversate and discuss. If you cannot abide by that, do not interact.
Secondly, I am basing most of my evidence based off the shows/comics I’ve read, and information that has been given to me by the people I’ve spoken to. If I get anything incorrect, please correct me.
Thirdly, If you have any complaints about a fanon interpretation about your favourite character or lore, please make some suggestions about my next thread in the comments (or reblogs)
Megatron and Starscream’s relationship is quite dubious in the media. Originally, it’s supposed to be simple. Megatron is the leader, Starscream is treacherous and fights for the position, and Megatron beats him, and the cycle repeats. But recently, there’s been all sorts of discourse on whether or not Megatron is actually abusing Starscream.
In my personal opinion, Megatron Abuses Starscream, but it depends on continuity. But I hate both sides of the discourse for two reasons. One, because there doesn’t seem to be any nuance, and two, there’s a lot of misinformation spread around, especially with the topic of abuse.
Let me start by clarifying that Megatron doesn’t ALWAYS abuse Starscream. In G1, Starscream is described as sleazy second in command who’d steal his brother’s wife, and Tfa follows a similar characterisation. The only one that does portray an abusive Starscream is the unicron trilogy, but even then it’s only armada Starscream
The abuse angle only became a thing due to later iterations, such as Tfp, IDw, and Earthspark, with the only exception being Tfone. Now that we got that out of the way, I’ll start to address each points from both sides
First, let’s start with the idea that the idea of Starscream can’t be abused by Megatron, because Starscream backstabs Megatron, and Megatron is just matching his energy. Asides from the fact that you can still abuse someone even if they did “wrong” to you, I feel like it’s not a stretch to say that Megatron isn’t fazed by Starscream’s attempts to backstab.
I often see the reasoning “if you were constantly being attacked by someone who wanted your power, you would beat him too”, which yes, as a person who has anger issues and has gotten into multiple fights, I would. But then again, I wouldn’t keep that same person around as my second in command. Starscream literally states “my time will come Megatron!” In the pilot episode, and Megatron does nothing.
The only times where he was seriously affected by Starscream’s betrayals, he killed him (Tfa, the FoC game and Cyberverse) so I think if he was grievously affected by Starscream, he would’ve squashed him out already. But doesn’t instantly mean abuse, as the answer to why Megatron keeps Starscream is varied across continuity.
The next point I’ve seen is that Starscream being a victim of Megatron woobifies or infantilises him. Although I’ve seen certain Starscream stans do this with him, I must stress that this comes from perfect victim rhetoric: Being a victim of abuse does not exempt you from having realised agency in your own life, including the agency to do bad things.
Even in the continuities (Idw, tfp etc.) where he is a victim, the writers still go out of their way to make Starscream a terrible person. In Skybound he still kills humans and burns a hospital, while in IDW he still kills and manipulates others. His abuse may explain some of his actions, but he’s still in the wrong.
Victimhood is not indicative of your morals, it does not make you inherently good or inherently bad. It’s just a thing that happens to people. There are tons of villains who are victims, but that doesn’t make them woobies, nor does it mean that the story justifies their actions.
A minor nitpick I have is the idea that Starscream, for the majority of Transformers Starscream hasn’t been a victim but instead an evil backstabber. I would argue that he’s still portrayed as both. In the main continuities (G1,TFA,TFP and IDW), he’s a victim in 2 out of the 4 continuities, and that’s not counting the later ones.
Something I would like to address is that I wish people chose their words more carefully when talking about Megatron and Starscream’s dynamic. Often, I see people misuse abuse or not fully understand what an abusive relationship is.
For an abusive relationship to count as abusive, there must be a some sort of power dynamic, with a perpetrator and victim (e.g: a parent and child,a couple where one person depends on the other financially). Without that, the relationship is just toxic. Still unhealthy, but toxic.
But sometimes I see people say things like “They abuse eachother” or that the dynamic is mutually abusive. I would implore for people to be more aware of the language they use, as this sort of phrasing falls into mutual abuse rhetoric, and can be harmful to victims speaking out against their abuse.
We should be careful when using psychiatrical or otherwise loaded terms. There’s a trend online (specifically on TikTok and even this hellsite) where people misuse terms like hyperfixation, intrusive thoughts and delusion. This waters down the effect these words have, and makes it impossible for mentally ill people to talk about their struggles or trauma.
But anyways, let’s move on to the other side of the argument. Since most of the mischaracterisations revolve around the crack theory that Starscream is a good person, I’ll mostly just speed run this.
As I broke down earlier (and this should be plainly obvious if you pay attention to the plot), Starscream isn’t a good person, and even outside of Megatron he still has done plenty of horrible things. That doesn’t mean he can’t be victimised, but that means he’s still a bad person. Bad things can happen to bad people, even things that gasp they didn’t deserve.
I’ve seen some people say that the reason he’s like this is because of Megatron’s influence but, outside of idw, that’s mostly incorrect. Starscream isn’t given much of a backstory most of the time but he joins the Decepticons fully believing in their ideals and wants to usurp Megatron because he wants to be leader of an evil faction. In some iterations he’s there when the decepticons are founded.
I deeply wanted to avoid ship discourse because it’s bad for my health, but I suppose it wouldn’t be a debunking fanon thread without mentioning it. I see a lot of people try to paint other Starscream ships as more wholesome in comparison to megastar, to which I say you’re wrong. They’re also toxic.
Skystar: The moment Skyfire disagrees with Starscream, Starscream takes it as betrayal and immediately attacks him. Pre-war is barely toxic however
Starbee:connect the dots nigga
SG Megastar: I may have ranted about this a few times but this is also unhealthy. In both Idw and Funpub, Starscream puts Megatron on a high pedestal and heavily idolises him. Funpub Starscream is also overprotective of Megatron, and shows disappointment when Megatron turns into Galvatron.
Majority of Starscream’s ships are going to be toxic, sometimes abusive, because Starscream is incredibly toxic himself. A lot of abuse victims can get into toxic relationships, even after theyre out of an abusive environment, due to still being having unhealthy mindsets. That doesn’t make them bad people, but it’s just an unfortunate thing that happens.
Though I find people’s tendency to infantilise Starscream in order to pain him as a victim irritating, I don’t shame people for thinking Megatron and Starscream as abusive. As I’ve seen, several abuse victims identify with Starscream’s victimhood, and also several people voice discomfort with, say, Transformers prime or spotlight Megatron.
I also think that both fanon and canon doesn’t help with how people view Megatron and Starscream’s dynamic. People get weird with Starscream and write out torture rape porn, and The violence has also increased from G1 as well, ranging from slapstick comedy to actual domestic violence.
Ultimately, although I do consider myself biased, what I want to get at that both sides/arguments has their flaws, and I can understand how people feel. Personally, I think an abusive dynamic between Megatron and Starscream is interesting. And I can understand that the Tom and Jerry dynamic is also interesting for shippers. I can also understand being uncomfortable by the violence in tfp or idw. In the end, the only people I blame are the writers.
Abuse is a heavy subject that, like oppression and genocide, requires much care in how it’s written. But it feels like the writers aren’t much equipped to handle it. This is mainly because the writers want it 3 ways.
1, they want to write a dark, serious war story 2. They also want the goofy, comedic style of G1 and 3. They also want Megatron to be sympathetic. And all of it clashes together.
The weird thing I notice is that the times where Megatron DOES abuse Starscream, it’s in stories where Megatron is painted as sympathetic or redeemed. This adds to the nature of Megatron’s redemption being icky, especially with the other shit he’s done.
Despite Megatron’s actions, he doesn’t have to face the consequences of his abuse towards Starscream (or anything for that matter). It’s usually brushed to the side, or Starscream is villainised while Megatron gets to be an unequivocal good guy. But I digress.
Like it or not, Starscream being a victim is now apart of his character, for better or worse and not even a new idea (again, it started in armada). But what concerns me the most isn’t whether or not he should be a victim, but how the writers see the implications of him being a victim and Megatron being a abuser.

The times Earthspark lacks common sense that's so funny, it's worrying (part 1 of ?)
Not in order of episode or season.
The parents show zero concern that Robby and Mo went out dead of night (almost died too but they likely leave out that part, but still), about the cybersleeves, calling the Terrans "siblings" from the get-go, constantly wondering off, etc.
Basically everything their kids do that should warrant concern.
The parents also don't seem to know anything about what happened in the city. Either they're the type to be really off of the internet and TV or they don't care.
The entirety of S1 Ep3 with how the kids are being rude to Bumblebee and have violent tantrums. The parents brush the bad behaviour off as "kids being kids". Nuff said.
Robby was clinically dead in "Disarmed" but they never make a trip to the hospital.
Instead of using the cartoon logic of characters having the multiple copies of the clothes they wear, Robby still wears the same ripped clothes he nearly died in for seemingly days.
The Terrans and Mo brought their deathly ill brother on a hike , and none of the Terrans bothered to carry him. Buddy was GASPING for air.
Worst, the kids are more concerned about the missing emotional link than Robby's health.
Robby fell into a coma and STILL no one called a real doctor or brought him to the hospital. They could be paranoid about experimentation because of the cybersleeves but with no dialogue indicating this, it's just blatant neglect -- they're waiting for him to die.
Mandroid pointed a gun at a weak Robby in the head yet it was the physically fine Mo the parents ran towards first.
Does the family even care about Robby? No wonder he ran away in the pilot episode.
TBC...

New chapter! Yeiiiii. Now, please bear me with me yapping instead of sleeping.
"Less than five percent of military personal in the US transfer from military based programs to private ones, unless compatibility testing was ran by Doctor Shockwave.
At which point the number rapidly increases to eighty-seven percent."
Ughhh assholes. No more, just straight assholes for allowing Shockwave doing such things.
Like, they will just try to hide all this under the carpet if all this quintesson thing is finally over. Hopefully the don't die so they can affront justice, and dying is to easy for them.
"That was worse, that made Hound's skin crawl. Back in testing, back in the hands of those who wanted to tear him apart and rebuild him in their ideas. Fingers flexed in this holds on him"
Oh the boy and there would be probably no way to convince any of them that Wheeljack and Skyfire are actually nice, like, they both probably did shady things in the war, one more than the other (I'm pointing at wheeljack)
"The buzzing ringing in his ears as his throat tightened, anguish and fear, stinking fear he hadn't felt in ages."
I said to myself "oh, they can feel it, don't they????" And they in fact did.
"We came here to discuss the future plan of action, not everything as we have been. Although we should discuss your concerns at another time," Hound knew it wasn't meant to be dismissive, but it certainly felt that way.
Sweeping his failure under the rug."
It was definitively not dismissive, no, they wouldn't even consider it they are dramatic old people that cant get over the most minimal stuff. And if they cant get an idea out of their heads unless is the idk how many war crimes (and that) they committed they will neeever.
"They can no more undo that than we can undo the damage Megatron did to my vocalizer."
🧍♀️
"Knockout was meant to be at this meeting, which would have made it entirely more bearable"
Oh he cant go a meeting without being bitter about everything. But he cant go being bitter about everything without the other one guy is like him and is also bitter about everything.
"but he couldn't quite imagine Megatron doing that to anyone."
This will be a weird comparison but idk this reminds me of this one chapter on Earthspark, where twitch goes and tells Novastorm and Skywarp to go back to the cons, bc Megatron would never abandon them.
In. Front. Of. Starscream.
I know the pilots are far more mature but yet the idea they have of Megatron, I dare to say, is not so different from the one the terrans have of him.
"Uh, if I may," He lightly gestures towards the door, "I think I should attend to my husband."
They are so nice together oh girl they just. I want to eat their relationship for now sweet it seems.
""Sorry! Sorry, that is the lab's explosion alarm! I really shouldn't have left Brainstorm unattended, at least this long. Sorry Prime!" The other scientist, Wheeljack, stood and rushed from the room"
And of course there is Brainstorm, who denies the existence of any sort of ethic and will attempt to make a time machine to kill a vulnerable mech for someone who probably didn't correspond his feelings even if it kills him.
He probably didn't have his "hahaha I'm going to poison everyone" phase here, I hope. But I bet he's still. Em. Brainstorm, the self proclaimed best weapon inventor, or something like that. Weapons that are constantly turned down.
Did you know Wheeljack uses him as a measure scale? Like, "oh, a blackhole that could destroy the universe, 0.6 Brainstorms"
So, not the best guy to be around specially if you are afraid of scientist, specially the one who probably doesn't understand social, everything.
Oh god are they afraid of Percy???? (._.`)
And wheeljack, you have too much faith to leave him unsupervised for even a second.
"We have an explosion specific alarm now"
"Poor Skyfire needs some protection."
I swear the day Skyfire makes something blow up pretty badly no one will belive it and blame it in Brainstorm and Wheeljack and Starscream will support and spread that idea.
"Skyfire, values organic life. Above, nearly all else. Recommendation, aligning yourself with him is beneficial. Long-term gain, expected." Nodding slightly, he cleared throat, "Thank you." Then like that, Soundwave moved from the room."
Im surprised od how supportive Soundwave is.
Hes like "well, if Im not telling my boss then I'm going to make this 100% work, Prowl is apparently not suit for the job. Incompetent autobot"
"it was better than the new pilots barracks at MECHA."
Ughh assholes is not that hard to give someone decent living conditions even if with the bare minimum. Like at least good beds so they can fall into a coma.
"Their makeshift bedroom was on a side table near the window"
They so small.
"at least they weren't sleeping on the floor"
Actually sleeping in the floor is quite comfy 🤓☝️, even if it's metal. At least in my personal opinion.
"Sunny hugs him close and tight"
Oh the boys they are so nice they deserve nothing GOOD things happening to them.
👁👁
"Close enough to feel each other's heartbeat. Desperate to be closer at times, but this was them."
Ughhh, is this a reference to spark twins? Or they are spark twins in most continuities???? Like, oh boy.
"There'd been a young pilot he could remember that was a comet, though they hadn't ever really been stationed together"
That's Jesse, don't he?
"Megatron and Optimus who had returned to their conversation over comms"
Okay that's rude just bc you are the leader of your factions and the planet it doesn't excuse for not having manners.
Owww. They just worried for Hound and his crazy field.
Fuck I didn't copied these ones but. Optimus referring to Hounds field to gift and yet offering to get rid of it.
And Mirage being hesitant to leave for a moments I just expected him to just go invisible.
And everyone. And Sides calling Suny his full name and then they just comforting each other and then Hound revelation they are so young.
Im eating crumbs.
Love this chapter, as always, it's wonderful and a pleasure to read.
Take care <3333
To be fair, I did not see the yapping till morning.
Alright, let’s get into it!
When the government sees an asset, specifically in Shockwave’s effectiveness, they’ll use it until the bleeding becomes too much to handle.
War is war and sometimes you do things you don’t want to/regret doing.. but, some people have a better reaction to scientists and medics than others.
I personally hate the feeling of static in the air, it reminds me of the bad storms in the valley that more often than not caused flash flooding or roads to wash out. Stuff Hound would have experienced.
Yep.
I loved writing Starscream this chapter.. they’re at peace, but peace doesn’t heal all wounds and sometimes scars ache even after years.
God, it’s like you’re in my brain.. so, I’ll admit I love Earthspark, especially season one, so that bit of transformers lore has burrowed its way into my soul. I didn’t think about it for this, but now that you’ve said it.. I see it.
SkyStar, my beloved. 🥹
Brainstorm. Yeah, just.. Brainstorm. (Also, most pilots are not afraid of Percy, cause he does most of his testing on himself.)
Yep. Pretty much.
Oh yeah, Soundwave knows how valuable the humans are, no surprise there. But he also knows they need reassurance and specific paths for everything to work.
lol. The “New Pilot” barracks are effectively an incredibly outdated cheaply purchased army barracks, but it’s from like.. the 70’s. And never updated.
Smol.
I can get that, but I’ve done that for school.. it’s not fun.
“They deserved nothing GOOD things happening to them.” Well, if you insist.
Yeah, it is.
It is Jesse!
They aren’t meaning to be rude, but to them Hound’s hearing is like.. incredibly good so they can’t whisper without him hearing.
They are, it’s sweet.
Yeah, because he can see how uncomfortable it makes Hound..
I honestly thought about it but Optimus would have had none of it.
I’m so glad you loved this chapter, I loved writing it! Thank you!

Okay so with that I’m finally through Season 2 of Cyberverse
At this rate I’ll probably finish Season 3 within the day as well. Considering I ain’t got else to do
So no new human characters like I initially thought, but I do have to say, I feel like Cyberverse Season 2 does almost the exact same thing Earthspark Season 2 did, being entirely different from the first season
Though I guess where Cyberverse works and Earthspark doesn’t is that 1: I don’t think the entire writing staff was fired and replaced. 2: this new direction makes sense with what was established, since at the end of Season 1 all of the Autobots and Decepticons were here and awake on Earth. 3: the conflict wasn’t simplified down and the characters were still consistent with their original characterization. And 4: I’m given to understand people didn’t like Season 1, so it’s more a shift in the right direction than anything
While I liked Season 1, I think I can see why other people might not have. The first half of the season was pretty much just setup and exposition with Bumblebee losing his memories, with almost nothing happening outside of that. I imagine people would greatly prefer to actually see the action. I mean heck, Optimus wasn’t in the actual story outside of flashbacks until the very end of the last episode. Not to mention how few characters there were, just being Bee and Windblade, along with the occasional Seeker for most of it, and Teletraan X and Grimlock only coming in late in the season
But we have a lot more characters now, actual present day conflict, and Season 3’s supposed to be even better
Moving on, I was a little surprised how little Earth really seemed to matter in this show, but I guess that makes sense. It really was just a battleground for the Transformers while trying to get the AllSpark, and it’s not like they befriended any humans here. Ah well, guess I’m just used to more Earth
I also liked the addition of Cheetor, good to see a Maximal get some real spotlight in another show. But also, while I know why only Cheetor’s here, I wish we got to see more Maximals. They really don’t seem to get enough love in other series, with only some Predacons making some appearances. And they may have had a movie, but that’s not enough for me, and also the Maximals weren’t really in it outside of Airazor and Primal. They didn’t even go into the question of why Primal and Prime were so similar
I get maybe the reason why they don’t appear is because you have to explain why they’re Earth animals, and also if they turn into animals they must be relatively tiny compared to the other Cybertronians, so that reduces their cool factor a bit. But like, they’ve been established to have connections with space and time travel, you can at least use that to bring them into stories if nothing else
Sorry it just annoys me. Let the Beast Wars characters show up in other continuities. That aren’t crossovers or cameos, or just Blackarachnia, Tarantulas or Waspinator
I also think the Season 2 finale episode was a bit strange? Like okay, I get saving the touchdown on Cybertron for Season 3, but the final episode just felt a bit anti-climactic otherwise. Though I suppose the Decepticons couldn’t realistically be there, but still. I’m fine with the un-space thing, and finding alternate universe counterparts in there, but not much was done with that. The other versions were practically identical, with the most notable exception being the one Ark captained by Rack and Ruin
I personally was expecting some Shattered Glass type stuff with evil Autobots. And/or they encounter a version of the Ark piloted by the Decepticons, likely good ones that they have to work together with to escape un-space
But no, not much on that front. I guess the 11-minute time restraint
But oh well, on to Season 3 with me I go
#I can’t speak much on the first couple episodes since it’s been a while#but overall the season was fun#I wanted some conflicts to push more but maybe that’s the fanfic reader in me#I need more drama#and also I just want the two sides to join together#not even for shipping I just like it when they join forces#especially when permanent#though that almost never happens#and it’s also fun to imagine what they’d fight instead of each other#I think I just need a series where they team up#no Earthspark doesn’t count here#anyways#transformers#transformers cyberverse#personal opinion

The Quintessons also got cards.

While we don’t know for sure if there’s other members of their race yet, these are a pretty big departure from the original designs, which have remained somewhat consistent.

Most notably the absence of the most recognizable Quintesson Judge is curious. There’s nothing that says they’re not there, but usually the Judge types are front and center for things, so removing them for a new High Command version is interesting.
The High Command and Soldier designs seem closer to some one off Quintessons from the 80’s cartoon.

The Quintessons have a somewhat complex conceptual history.
Their earliest concept looked like this.

A psychic biomechanical humanoid whose psychic abilities were so great they could make a horde of Sharkticons from scrap metal in an instant and probe the galaxy with a simple mind scan. Their head was apparently their true form, as it would eject and fly to another body when Hot Rod tried threatening it. The biomechanical look would persist for their final designs, but more modern media via Aligned and Cyberverse would instead state they’re actually organic creatures that look something like this:

Revealing their robotic bodies as merely being suits they pilot. It’s not clear yet if this is also the case in EarthSpark or ONE, though ONE feels like this is what they’re supposed to actually look like, but more organic this time than robotic as they typically are.
Some further revisions to the 80’s movie scripts and marketing of the time originally cast the Quintessons as working directly for Unicron, their mock trials were to punish and destroy any lingering survivors of Unicron’s wrath that passed by Quintessa. While this idea never made it into the original film, it was used in the Marvel comics and later revisited in early BotCon comics, but never became hard canon. The UK comics would make them into aliens clinging for survival as their home planet was destroyed by a time anomaly caused by the time traveling Galvatron. Running out of options, the Quints attacked Autobot City on Earth to try and colonize it, but were driven off by Rodimus Prime and Metroplex, their fate unknown but nevertheless swearing revenge on the Transformers.
The final version of the Quintessons in the cartoon cast them as the ancient creators of the Transformers, with some media explaining they also created Cybertron by terraforming a planet into a factory world (at least it wasn’t a parking structure planet). The cartoon would also establish them as slimy business men, having their tentacles in the affairs of other species for financial gain. Along with the Transformers starting out as in universe products to sell, it seems the writers might’ve been having a laugh at Hasbro.
The Quints’ primary goal in the cartoon was to push the Autobots aside so they could regain control of Cybertron, often conning the Decepticons into doing their dirty work for them. Where the Quints came from is never clear, as the show implies Cybertron was more their home planet originally due to their sentimental attachment to it. Their supposed home planet, Quintessa, is implied to merely be another planet they terraformed after getting booted off Cybertron.
Due to the more popular Primus origin from the Marvel comics, the Quintessons and their hand in the creation of Cybertron and its people was largely ignored in most mainstream media. While they saw a homage in Alpha Q in Energon (the connection to the Quintessons made stronger in the Energon Dreamwave comics), they didn’t really start resurfacing as major characters again until recently. The BotCon comics attempted to reconcile the two origins, stating the Primus origin was also the case in the cartoon, with the Quints interfering in the process, and this early idea served as the basis for the Aligned canon, where the Quints did the same in Cybertron’s early years, conning the young race into becoming their allies (servants), by bestowing both the futuristic space fairing technology Cybertronians enjoy today, their modern hierarchy (that became the corrupt caste system Megatron fought against) and the ability to Transform. Apparently the robots technically could already Transform as they all had Cogs, they just hadn’t LEARNED to Transform yet. Like the 80’s cartoon, these Quints intended to sell off the Transformers as products to the galaxy, with Sentinel (Zeta) Prime installed as their figurehead leader like in TFONE. Eventually they were chased off like in the old cartoon, but Prime nor RiD15 would ever revisit the Quintessons, though the prequel novels nobody read did claim the Autobots and Decepticons briefly became antagonized by them once more during the hunt for the Allspark in space.
Aligned’s main difference that’s fueled most modern interpretations is the Quintessons are the creations of Quintus Prime one of the newly established 13 original Transformers.

Aligned implies they killed Quintus and stole what they needed from him to become space fairing and eventually go to Cybertron, conquering other planets along the way.
The Quints were intended to be allies to Cybertron, as were other Quintus borne races, but this was not meant to be, due to the Quints’ hubris. EarthSpark’s version says the Quints were the first sons of the Prime, and in trying to discover their purpose, they became bitter and developed daddy issues, going around and killing off their cousins on other planets, attempting to acquire the Emberstone for their own use. The Quints and Transformers are strongly aware of each other, and clearly fought before, but their exact relationship has not been established yet, if at all.
TFONE greatly simplifies it to the Quints being an alien race that attacked Cybertron during the time of the Primes, though the hows and whys aren’t clear. What is clear is the jealous Sentinel made a bargain, helping them destroy the Primes and letting him be in control in exchange for paying them off in Energon to leave Cybertron alone. It’s not clear if Quintus Prime created the Quints in this universe, but there is a resemblance.

Quintus at some point: Sorry guys, you know how kids are!
Despite the Quintus origin, some modern media has gone back to the 80’s cartoon origin. Notably Age of Extinction and The Last Knight returning to the aliens created the Transformers idea, but the movies not directly using the Quintessons. However concept art does suggest the original intent WAS supposed to be the Quintessons…

Instead all we have is an alien hand and later Quintessa to go by.

It’s never clarified if the two are related, with Quintessa possibly being a Transformer and a Prime as well, but she is also called a liar by those formally in her employ so… She IS able to reprogram Optimus into doing her bidding however, so there’s that. She’s clearly inspired by Quintus, but isn’t connected beyond that. Her goal was to restore Cybertron by draining Earth of its life force and destroy Unicron in one fell swoop (as Earth is inexplicably Unicron again like in Prime). The organic Creators meanwhile were responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs, deploying bombs that converted organics into cyber matter that made the metal of the Transformers. Lockdown was working for the Creators, but with the abrupt inclusion of Quintessa, it’s not clarified if he was working for her instead/also.
Cyberverse cast the Quintessons as major villains, but instead of the creation origin, they depicted them as trans dimensional entities that travel to other Transformers universes to judge them guilty and destroy them for no other reason other than they can. Truly the best kind of villain: petty. Still this Dr. Who meets The Matrix direction with them doesn’t appear to be at all popular despite the arc being regarded positively. I still think Cyberverse is awful top to bottom, but the general idea they went for is decent. The Primes exist here, as noted previously with Alchemist Prime, but it’s never stated if these Quintessons are related to Quintus Prime.
Netflix War For Cybertron and Skybound Energon Universe also return to the Quintesson origin for the Transformers, though in the former’s case, their connection, if any, to the Allspark is never clarified. Skybound’s Void Rivals is currently the main component using the Quints, and dialog heavily implies the cartoon origin, though some minor Aligned concepts creep up as well. Nevertheless the Quintus origin doesn’t appear to be as… nailed down as Hasbro probably would like.
Indeed despite the resurgence in relevance, Hasbro seems somewhat reluctant to use the Quintessons still. The Quintus origin in the modern era had only been used in EarthSpark, and even then it’s not used… super well. The Steven Universe Diamonds that need a family intervention, never mind the genocide they caused, persists here to much chagrin. With the inconsistency on how the Quints came to be in modern media, it also makes Quintus Prime unnecessary, if some media is treating the Quints as separate beings. Even IDW didn’t do anything with this, despite using a lot of the Aligned concepts, and for now Skybound seems content to ignore it also.
I think the reluctance is due to toys of them not doing well, with the Cyberverse ones doing especially poorly. The High Command guy being able to Transform toy wise seems to be an attempt to make it clear they fit in with Transformers, but their peg warming doesn’t seem to be fixing that.
Along with Hasbro and Paramount not handing the transition from Bee to ROTB properly (like how do we jump from what Bee did to suddenly Unicron attacks?), I don’t have high expectations that the Quintessons will be handled well for a possible TFTWO, if they’re even used at all.
Which is a shame because the ONE designs are pretty cool, they made the Quints more appropriately scary and intimidating vs the slightly goofy looking egg shaped Judges. And I like the Judges but still.

So apparently the 40th anniversary screening of the Transformers G1 pilot miniseries not only did not have a Skybound commercial, just the table read and an Earthspark preview (with on-site reporting noting that kids looked like they could not care a fraction less about Earthspark). On top of that, posts on Twitter, Reddit, and other social media have noted that many were apparently expecting it to be the seminal 80s cult classic Transformers The Movie, not the TV show pilot with a Generation 2 style CG border.
youtube
What they expected.
What they got.
Many of these people were straight up demanding refunds to boot.
So yeah, fail all around.

Hello, I'm Violetta, I am looking for someone who I can roleplay with on the long term. I write at least one paragraph, but for the length I try to match the length of the paragraphs of my rp partner. I will try to respond quickly as can. I am mostly looking for fandoms roleplay. Also, I can do originals rp, but I tend to more picky about it since I'll rather do fandom rps. Furthermore, I have some plots ideas, but I'll rather speak about it in the dm since I don't want them to take too much place here. The characters I would prefer to play is in bold. So here are the fandoms I would like to rp:
● Transformers (G1, Animated, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, Beast Wars, Earthspark, TfOne, Robots in disguise (2001), Prime)
Ratchet x Wheeljack
Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime x Springer
Airazor x anyone
D-16 x Orion Pax
Optimus Prime x Megatron
Hot Shot x Wheeljack
Side Burn x Knock Out
● Fire Emblem
F Byleth x Dorothea
M Byleth x Linhardt
F Robin x Sumia
M Robin x Stahl
Lissa x Lon'qu
●Kingdom Hearts
Aqua x Oc
Sora x Riku
●Pokémon
My ideas for this fandom are related to a human Pokemon Au.
Lugia x Ho-oh
Cresselia x Darkrai
Yveltal x Xerneas
Gardevoir x Lopunny
Gardevoir x Primarina
Primarina x Lopunny
●Saint Seiya
Some of my original roleplays ideas:
● Magical girl x ex-villain or
a tired magical girl who has been doing her job for the past twenty years has to reunite with her friends and old teammates to fight a new mysterious threat. They have to team up with an old redeemed foe of theirs. (FxF)
●Pilot x Mecha or
a mecha pilot discovers the robot they pilot is sentient. As they bound together, they uncover a dark truth about the war they fight in. (MxM)
If you're interested in roleplaying with me, please send me a dm. Hope that you're having a good day/ night.
