I (teen HTP) got turned into a Pokemon 8 months ago. Honestly I'm chilling but there's one bit that makes me wish it never happened every time I think about it: the "support" groups (online since there are none in person in my region, yay!/s)

First off, why the fuck are we called "eebies" and "eebydeebies"?

1. It's so infantilizing. Imagine a loved one dies because they had "cancywancy" or getting the news you're paralyzed after an accident with the doctors going "you got stickysittied".

2. Is there a reason behind it??? All I can piece together is that some group of humons (the better fuckign phrase) on here, dear old rotomblr, were the first to reach out to those like them and name themselves because no one outside of them did. So everyone's really just fine letting these terminally online individuals name us seemingly forever after some shitty meme???

3. Humons. Is a term. That exists. It's what Pokemon who've lived with humans enough to know that's what they're called call them in their language. It also accurately describes the experience many HTPs feel - a human Pokemon. Sure some don't feel that way, that's the same with trans people who don't identify as trans despite technically fitting the definition. And they aren't calling for the term to be changed, they simply don't want to be called it!

I just. Every time my human family & friends try to help me with some issue that we come across to do with my new way of being I have to read that phrase and I can't help but feel like I'm being mocked.

For anyone who doesn't know, HTP = human-to/turned-pokémon. I've only learnt of this from this ask and looked it up to confirm. The more you know. 🌈🌟

Anyway I have no real weight in this. I can say 1 the first time i heard the phrase i did think someone was playing a prank purely because of the name before looking further into it & 2 I do know people who fit the “trans” situation your describing and I know calling them trans would hurt them irrevocably

i would say no about shitting on ships and stuff because people who still are into the dsmp completely divorce what happened irl from their characters, so they're practically separate and the characters are their own entity

i guess i was thinking of it in a roundabout way tbh just in the sense of i dont know what the general populace thinks about certain dynamics and characters anymore since discourse about anything is so fragmented (BECAUSE OF real life events, which is something i will push back on with the claim that fiction part is completely divorced from real life. i think that that absolutely had an effect at least in the sense of schisms within what you'd consider a "greater" dsmp fandom and IN TURN, i think this does influence a lot of discourse/headcanons/etc surrounding characters because everyone is inherently biased with their own ccs they like(d) playing the characters they did) and i think we all kinda live in our own bubbles now (see the fact im practically a fucking cgeorgeolo) obviously im not seriously going to shit on ships like that cause its fiction (i love exaggerating sorry, in my mind i was referring more to like hey guys whats up with general consensus nowadays on these guys lol is it pos or neg like whats happening here) but i do somewhat question that "true" separation in the sense that even the rp didnt have that clear distinction sometimes (eg bloopers and when lore picked up in the middle of streams etc). i dont disagree with you that these characters are their own entities thats the whole point of the c! distinction, but im saying im not sure at least the schisms over time didnt, even in minute ways, influence people's readings of the text or how eeby a certain character is individually because something something parasociality . but what do i know im just a casual so dont take me too seriously here

I love the lore/discourse about anabels memories because it actually really feeds an eventual part I plan for the Alola arc (Haru searched for Looker for years when he went missing/was eebied to the mega timeline) and during his Alola vacation arc, naturally, Looker comes right up to you to ask for help gathering up the scattered ultra beasts. And the dilemma of finally seeing someone who you care deeply for but they don't remember you!!! (His self sabotaging and downplaying anything going on with him personally leads him to be like "if Looker is happy then it doesn't matter if he remembers me--" and his fiance and friends grabbing him like "BE SELFISH FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE AND TELL YOUR DAD YOU MISS HIM" Anyways I'm always grateful for the juice y'all provide with your Anabel stuff. Tbh I imagine she catches on immediately that Haru knows Looker. (It'll all work out in the end, I think Looker remembering his past wouldn't change his life because he's literally been doing what he's always been doing and that's commitment)

Hmm, I guess in my headcanons, a situation like this would still be tricky and Anabel might think that it will be up to Looker's consent and decision on approaching since this is a matter of his personal amnesia.

She has said that she's happy to continue her life, but she also does want to remember her past. Perhaps Looker is the same even in my own story where it's a good discussion to have on how he'd approach his past. He'd have so many concerns: is he still really the same guy he was? Can he truly reconnect with a part of himself that feels lost? Does he feel comfortable shaking the foundation he built on his own?

And especially, is he the same person that other character wants him desperately to be? What if he isn't?

So it would warrant a discussion, but I do imagine Looker would at least take a deep breath and confront the matter at his own pace. Like he's a big hearted guy, he would want to know and get to know this character! I also imagine Anabel, if she was in his shoes, wouldn't want to rush and force an interaction either, but slowly introduce the idea and see how both parties feel. (And probably tell the character "Just a moment; you need to approach this wanting to get to know who he is now-- not try to bring out who you remember him to be, okay?")

fghfdghf and it still tickles me that there are a lot of people who do see Looker as the "Father-I-Never-Had" trope! It makes me think about how I see the protags reacting to Looker; less like a father and more the friendly neighborhood... Eccentric fellow? Weird Uncle? But occasionally I think about some kids getting a good pep talk from him and comforting words, only to break down and say how much they wish he was their dad and Looker is just

the "reality of hell" is not at all like "the reality of if u touch fire it will burn you". there are many ways you can teach someone "fire burns", but the reality of hell, such as it is, is known entirely through revelation.

Rather, “My desire is to be with God and my hope is in His promises.”
