okk so i’m gonna attempt to repeat what i said before in that post here,,,, sorry this took long because i got sad

Lady Sanna is extremely sensitive and allergic to pollutants. things like just inhaling fire or cigarette smoke can cause her to start having asthma attacks and coughing fits, even leading her to dry heave up blood and black out in the worst cases.

despite this, Lady Sanna still lights up campfires almost every night, even when she’s by herself and not traveling with anyone else. mind you, she can actually withstand a night without warmth or light, since she’s very used to the cold. but she does it anyway, almost nightly and ritualistically. she worships fires, like their her own personal church.

the logical side KNOWS this is bad for her health. it serves really no other purpose if she’s alone besides possibly weakening her. but she does it anyway. because another part of her will forever associate fire with people. them telling stories, sharing their worries or woes, winding down and reflecting on the day, it’s one of the only moments that Lady Sanna would seemingly fit in with everyone else. she won’t even have to say anything to feel accepted, the company is enough for her. even when it’s smoking tobacco.

Sanna will forever associate smoke with company. no matter how much it could hurt her. if smoke is what makes someone more at ease, she’ll gladly take that risk.

odysseus: *yapping away with penelope whilst on a walk through the palace grounds*

penelope: are you feeling unwell, my love?

odysseus: no i'm fine.

odysseus: i just get the feeling im being bad-mouthed...again
