as someone who's gone through some level of sexual assault (and stalking and just gross crossing of personal and physical boundaries) in the past, there's something particularly fucked up about a guy you're somewhat close with telling you about how their group of guys has a running joke about how someone needs to (kindly put bc translation for that fucking sentence.. fucking yikes. I'd rather not think about it) get it on with you to improve your mood. apparently they're now at 125,- as price money for the one who does it.. which jfc. (why did I ask what they were talking about, and for fucks sake why did he feel so comfortable telling me)

like.. for context: work/school has been hell since March bc there's so much hate speech and crossing of even just the most basic of boundaries and all manners of snide comments and loud screaming and yelling and hitting desks and slamming doors and just.. guys escalating any tiny situation into what would usually lead to someone being fucking fired from their job and maybe slapped with a lawsuit, but here there's zero consequence and now I'm being gaslit into believing that I am the problem for being offended. and I just.. I'm at if not way past my limit. so I've had a near constant migraine for the past months. which.. sure I'm a little grumpy but I've still been polite and respectful, so honestly there's nothing for any of them to get annoyed with other than how one of them told me, and yeah... I know, to smile more..

just.. I feel so grossed out and uncomfortable and there's nothing I can do except hope the internship stuff is sorted out next week so I can be away from that place and those people for the next few months at least.

fucking hell tho. I'm literally in hell. this is worse than the 2 years of group bullying and mistreatment at my old work place. talk about draining experiences. this is the last thing I needed on top of all the grieving and anxiety

a ctivities - what do they like to do with their s/o? how do they spend their free time with them?

legoshi’s favorite activity is really just to be around his s/o. it doesn’t matter what they’re doing. some would find that boring, but he’s entranced just by watching you go about your day, as creepy as that may sound. if he had to pick a favorite thing you two do together, it’s having cute little meals together. legoshi can’t explain it, but part of him really enjoys seeing you full and satiated. it makes him feel like he’s taking good care of you. he also enjoys listening to you ramble about things that excite you. 

b eauty - what do they admire about their s/o? what do they think is beautiful about them?

god, like everything about you? legoshi is a sweet soul. when he falls for someone, he finds everything about them undeniably, unbearably attractive. if he had to pick his favorite thing about you though, it would be your smile, as cheesy as that sounds. 

c omfort - how would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

legoshi is no stranger to feeling down, but his strategy is to shove it down. whether or not he makes a convincing case for being fine is... debatable. he’s a little too well known for brooding. the upside to his tendency to ruminate is that he is hyper attuned to your moods. the type to wrap you up in his arms and let you cry into his chest, never letting go. he knows he can’t always say the right thing, but this is how he intends to comfort you, to let you know he’s always going to be there for you. if he finds out that you enjoy distractions more, he’ll start listing off random facts about beetles and animal biology to get you to brighten up. it’s cute.

d reams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?

married, preferably. legoshi’s big on commitment. he sees it as the natural progression from dating, and it surprises him that not everyone views relationships the same way. he wants a cute little apartment with you, a small backyard for the two of you to lounge together in, and your hand firmly in his, a simple ring glistening on your finger.

e qual - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

ooh, i’d say he chooses to be passive. legoshi doesn’t trust his own strength, or desires. he’d much rather have you take the lead. but when it comes to some things (i.e. him being jealous), he gets quite assertive. he also has a pretty strong sense of justice, so if relationships decisions need to be made where someone gets hurt as a result, he wants to do the opposite. with simple things such as where to eat or who does the chores, he’s amenable to almost anything. 

f ight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?

he will almost always forgive them. unless they did something that completely went against his belief systems, like eat a herbivore if they’re a carnivore. i think that legoshi would even find a way to forgive his s/o if they cheated, though it would certainly still nag at him every time they were together.

you’re his lover, and he prefers to not fight. if he thinks there’s even a chance he may be wrong, he’s quick to apologize. BUT if he thinks he’s in the right and you’re putting yourself in danger, he can he can be incredibly stubborn. 

g ratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

he’s very grateful. he’s not used to people doing anything for him, so he treasures any extra bit of attention or gifts that you give him. he’ll literally keep a bracelet you make him the first month of dating, in a box full of other paraphernalia that reminds him of you. 

h onesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

depends. for the most part, he is an honest, earnest guy. he doesn’t like to keep secrets, but he does so because he doesn’t want to worry his s/o. for example, his training, or even where he got that new, gnarly scar on his arm. he thinks that the key to protecting his s/o is keeping them on a need-to-know basis. his secrets are never related to infidelity. 

i nspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

his s/o definitely inspires him! legoshi is the type of guy who draws strength from those close to him. his s/o encourages him to open up, to be more true to himself, and to be confident in his skin as a carnivore. 

j ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

incredibly so. jealousy is legoshi’s one greatest sin. he has faith in you, yes, but not in anyone else. after all, if he is utterly entranced with you, other people might be as well. he doesn’t think you’ll cheat on him, no, but if he sees someone getting handsy with you, a bit too friendly, he can’t resist the urge to bare his fangs. 

k iss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

he’s not the most experienced kisser. he has to cover his teeth with his tongue in order to not bite you. he is very careful with you though, because the last thing he wants to do is nick you. he definitely tries to put his all into the kiss, making sure to nuzzle his snout against the nape of your neck after. your first kiss is probably a brief, chaste one, as legoshi gets used to any possible differences in anatomy.

l ove Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?

he’ll kind of just say it aloud without thinking about it. maybe to jack or one of his friends. and then he has to stop and ruminate. is what he feels for you really love? it’s not too hard for him to realize, yes. yes, it is. he’s very eager to tell you and get the timing right, but unfortunately it doesn’t always work out that way. 

he just blurts it out. he knows what he feels. he’s the first one to say it. if it’s his choice, he confesses to you in some place that is special to you both--maybe the site of your first date, the first time you met, a memorable night, etc. 

m arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

oh definitely. for him, it’s the natural progression of a relationship. he loves you and has no plans of being with anyone else, so why wouldn’t he want to set your relationship in stone? if his partner has cold feet about getting marriage, legoshi gets a bit nervous. do they not want to be with him? is he not the love of their life? if not... how can he become that kind of person to them?

for proposals, it’s much like the first date where he wants it to be a special moment, but something gets in the way, and he ends up just having to blurt it out. he does bring a ring though; he’s saved up months’ worth of his salary for a simple but pretty ring. 

the marriage is gonna be lowkey and private unless his s/o is fond of an audience. even so, legoshi gets nervous around crowds, so he’s going to want to keep it as small as possible. your good friends and close family will be there, but that’s about it. legoshi might be persuaded into inviting his drama club friends from cherryton, but it’s more likely that they have a high school reunion and he randomly mentions he’s been married for several years.

n icknames - What do they call their s/o?

he prefers to just call you by your name. he loves the way it sounds on his tongue. he finds nicknames a bit juvenile? he doesn’t mind if you refer to him by one though. 

o n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

we have all seen legoshi in love. he’s a total simp. it’s so obvious to everyone that he’s in love. and while legoshi may show physical manifestations of his adoration around you--wagging his tail, ears perking up, etc.--in terms of his face... he tends to look even more melancholy. he has resting worried face. he’s especially pensive when he has a crush. he’s in his head too much, thinking about when to make his move, how you feel about him, what is the proper next step for your relationship, etc. 

p DA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

i think legoshi likes to keep a certain deal of privacy in his relationships, but it’s pretty obvious to anyone around that he likes someone because he doesn’t try to hide it. he’s not the type to brag, but he will mention that he’s been hanging out with someone quite frequently, which is why he can’t do x... he’s quite shy with PDA, but he does like being able to rest his paw on your back, hold an umbrella over you, etc. small, cute ways to show you’re his.

q uirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

he is so dedicated to making things work out. it doesn’t matter what problem you two have, or even if its solely your own hesitations or baggage. he will always do his best to figure out the best solution and will love you regardless. 

r omance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?

he is so romantic, but perhaps not in an outlandish way. he has certain ideas of how he should act in a relationship and what would make you happy, but he gets a bit too embarrassed to do all of it. he is definitely the kind of guy who focuses on actions--he cooks for you, does your laundry, helps brush your fur out if it gets tangled, makes sure to list the makeup you’re running out of if you need it, etc. he can do some genuinely romantic things such as pick flowers he sees that he thinks you’d like, save up to take you out to your favorite restaurant (you were wondering why he was only eating instant ramen for several meals straight), pick you up and carry you home if you’re drunk, etc. but legoshi doesn’t really see these things as romantic, per se. he thinks it’s normal to want to care for and treat one’s partner. he’s definitely not going to be the best at verbal displays of affection, since he gets too caught up in his doubts about expressing himself, but he will tell you “I love you” at least once a day.

s upport - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

he thinks it’s only natural that he should be his S/O’s biggest supporter. and he hopes they do the same for him. no matter what it is, legoshi is always going to be cheering you on from the sidelines. 

t hrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

i think legoshi enjoys routine because sometimes his life can be wildly unpredictable. he finds himself at peace in the mundane. he doesn’t get bored easily. if anything, it’s his partner who often suggests trying new things.

u nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

oh he knows them so well. he keeps a mental checklist of things you like, favorite foods, favorite movies, etc. if he forgets, he really beats himself up over it. when he’s out and about, he adds things to his checklist of things you’d like. i.e. if you like ramen, there’s a new ramen place in town with good reviews, so he take you there next date night... if you like lilacs, there’s a bush of them near his work, so he should pick some for you when you’re having a bad day... he’s very empathetic, but he may have trouble showing it!

v alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?

it’s so important to legoshi. he’s very much an all-or-nothing guy when it comes to romance. his relationship and concern for others takes the utmost priority in his life--even to the point of ignoring his own needs. 

w ild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.

he likes to use blankets that your scent has rubbed off on. sometimes instead of throwing them in the wash, he keeps one for himself in his closet. he just mostly loves your smell, and being able to pull it out and smell you on it when he misses you.  

x OXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?

he’s very affectionate in private! odds are he’s bigger and lankier than you, so he enjoys being the big spoon. he loves being able to hold you fully in his arms, protect you from the world, whether that’s through cuddling or curling himself up around you as you read or game or scroll on your phone. he kind of just always likes to be hugging you in private. he loves to nuzzle his snout against the top of your head or behind your ear in this position. 

y earning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?

he just mopes. so hard. if they’re away on a trip, he acts especially gloomy. it takes jack or someone else pressing him to do other things to take his mind off of it. but he literally counts down to the time when you’ll return. and he’s the first one to offer to pick you up or give you a ride when you’re back. 

z eal - Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind of?

oh definitely. this man would trek through hell for you. he’s an incredibly loyal canine. some of the things he would do include: sacrifice his own happiness for you (sad), learn to be around herbivores to be with you, rescue you from yakuza, etc.

‘Off Limits’ Chapter 8

Summary: New faces at the Bureau lead to some tension.

Your days at the Bureau dragged heavy leading up to August. The hot, dense air following you around the office from one monotonous task to the next. Skinner had you back on the usual tasks; coffee runs, sorting files and typing up reports. It was dull, boring and whilst it may have kept your hands busy it gave time for your mind to wander, wander about Agent Mulder.

You hadn’t see him, let alone spoken to him, in over two weeks. He remained distant, passing by your office only out of necessity. It made you feel awful, your fears of merely being seen as Skinner’s daughter, nothing more than a liability, had come to fruition.

Things had changed, however, at the FBI offices. Your father, Skinner, was leading an undercover team who would infiltrate an infamous political terrorism group. The plan was tedious, having to be perfected and executed over the next coming months. Progress, your father explained to you, would have to be gradual.

To help in the undercover operation, your father had bought in a few guys he knew from the CIA. One being Brandon Phillips. A recent college graduate, who like yourself, was given a leg up at the CIA due to his father’s role as Executive Officer in the political terrorism sector.

The moment he arrived at the Washington office, every girl was swooning over him. He had blonde hair, green eyes and muscles for days. Forget Mulder, you thought to yourself, this is the real American dream.

You were so adamant on moving on from your crush on Mulder, that you felt you had to make a good first impression on the new guy. You watched Phillips from your office, saw him at the coffee machine and decided to make your move.

Grabbing a cup, you walked towards the coffee machine, trying to act completely oblivious to the blonde guy in front of you.

“Hi! I don’t think we’ve met, I’m Brandon Phillips.” He put his hand out for you to shake it. Your plan was already working…

You took it as he shook your hand vigorously.

“Y/N. Y/N Skinner, nice to meet you.”

“Well, well…well.” He said looking you up and down, still holding your hand. “I didn’t know Skinner had such a beautiful daughter.”

You rolled your eyes at that, laughing to yourself at his boldness.

“So, what do you Bureau guys do for fun around here?” He raised an eyebrow in your direction.

“Not much fun happens around here, Phillips.” You replied, sighing.

“Well, it’s a good thing I’m here then isn’t it.” He said winking at you. “How about lunch? On me.”

You hadn’t anticipated your first meeting with this guy to go quite so well. Did you really want to have lunch with this guy? Not really. He seemed so full of himself. But was a great distraction from Mulder? Yes, yes he was.

“Sure.” You said.

“I’ll see you down in the canteen. Y/N” He said walking away.

As the man walked away, you turned to see Scully waiting by the coffee machine.

“Oh, hey Scully how are you?” You said, a little taken aback by seeing her.

“Not too bad, Y/N.” She paused “Listen…I’m sorry I’ve been distant…it’s just your father- I didn’t know-” You stopped her.

“Scully it’s fine. I get it, trust me.” You understood what she meant. When Skinner tells you not to do something, your inclined to do as your told. Whether your his Agent or his Daughter.

“That guy was cute.” Scully smirked at you as she got her coffee. “Is he one of the new CIA guys they’ve got taking all the coffee?” She said realising we were almost out.

“Haha, I suppose he is.” You smiled st her, it was nice to speak to Scully, you’d miss her. She was always a much more friendlier face at the FBI than most. You thought maybe you should ask about Mulder, but decided against it.

“See you around Scully.” You said as you got your coffee and headed back to your office.

Lunch had gone well with Brandon. He wasn’t as much as a douche as he appeared to be. You bonded over your love of pizza, your cats and your similarly overbearing fathers. Brandon had explained to you that really he had wanted to join the Marines, but his father, much like your own, had different plans for him. And by pulling a few strings had gotten Brandon fast-tracked at the CIA to now having a key role on this case.

You had even talked so much you had gone over your lunch hour by ten minutes. He asked you as you got up if you’d like to have lunch with him for the rest of the week, you happily agreed. As you scrambled to pack your bag and quickly walk backed to your office, you bumped into someone in the hallway, dropping your book and notes everywhere.

“Shit, I’m sorry, here let me-” You both knelt down to tidy the mess, both of you reaching for the same book as your fingers touched awkwardly. You faced tilted up as you saw who was kneeling beside you. It was Mulder. You both froze at the sight of one another.

“Hi, Agent Mulder.” You said bashfully, trying to break the silence.

“Hi, Y/N, how are you?”

Before you could reply Brandon came running over, picking up the rest of your things. You could see Mulder’s face out of the corner of your eye, rolling his eyes at the man’s efforts.

“Here you go, Y/N.” Brandon said smiling at you, as he stood up he used the small of your back to balance himself. You froze slightly at the contact, both you and Mulder’s eyes locking before trailing down to Brandon’s hand.

“Oh Agent Mulder.” You coughed “This is Brandon Phillips, from the CIA.”

“Phillips hey? Your dads got quite a name around here.”

Brandon laughed awkwardly as the two shook hands.

“I suppose you two have that in common..”

You didn’t quite know what Mulder meant by that, but you knew he meant it as some sort of dig. Was Mulder jealous? The thought, selfishly, made you a little happy, excited even.

“Well, I’ll see you around.” Mulder said before exiting the room.

Brandon nudged you slightly before whispering, “was that the spooky Mulder?”

“The one and only.” You replied looking on at Mulder as he walked back towards his office and out of sight.

i can see yj!dick leaning towards the possessive aspect of being a yandere. not to say he isn’t violent… he’d print out photos of guys you talk to, hang them on a wall, and throw darts at them. maaaybe he’s a bit insecure in your relationship if you meet in the early seasons and he’s cocky and show-offish to compensate for his doubt. later though?? that boy knows you like him (who wouldn’t? he likes you more, though.) you know how he leaves the team behind a lot/goes off on his own? i feel like if you were part of the team and went on missions with them he’d only look back to make sure you were with him (still runs off when he sees you’re okay and aware, but he’s keeping an eye on you. covertly.) if you tell him that the stealthy laugh he does makes you feel safe/reassured, he definitely does it a lot more. if you’re less on the field and have a more passive position, like a doctor, he makes it a habit to get hurt more often. comes to you for the SMALLEST injuries so you can baby him. you tell him to gtfo (no you don’t cuz who could say no to him!!) he gets a scrape and comes crying to you about it he’s so silly… not sure what would happen with his canon relationships. maybe he’d still flirt and pursue relationships, but it’s definitely less genuine and more of a fill in type situation. gets broken up with once his partners realize they deserve better than someone who thinks of them as a rebound/stand-in (my true biases are showing maybe. cough zatanna cough barbara) less than a minor inconvenience to him but you better believe he runs to you every breakup, getting you to comfort him. (you turn your back for a second and his pout turns into the most sly grin ever. you turn back around and his eyes are full of unshed tears.) side note i don’t think he’s too hard to fluster early on. likes it when you get bold/assertive because he’s usually the one dropping hints lmfao. you’re still oblivious bless your heart but he’s making progress maybe? if you DO make the first move he’s speechless. (whelmed even!) not literally (unfortunately) because he never shuts up but he will be processing that for a while. side side note if you DO get with someone (cause i do usually imagine him with a reader that isn’t looking for a relationship) he’s doing background checks daily. i ALSO like to think that you know how crazy he is (not fully. but you’ve seen under his mask a few times.) besides, with yandere!dick i like to think that he eventually gets comfortable/lets you in enough to give you occasional glimpses of his lunacy (if you’re desensitized enough). if your living in gotham, you’re probably at least a little unfazed. plus, he knows how to make you agree with his views anyway. who cares if he rearranged that guys face! you didn’t see the way he was looking at you, really, it was for your own safety. don’t you trust him? he’s your robin, after all.

YES!!!!! YES!!! i know some ppl may not like it but i think dick is most likely (out of the bat boys) to date around even after meeting you, but it's so empty hearted on his end

HEHE i like the idea of that... i think yj!dick is def self-aware enough to kind of indulge in the darker parts of himself. as opposed to dick in other media, where it seems he has more restraint, imo. those parts still exist but he just chooses not to think about it that hard i think.

i kinda love the idea of reader seeing dick's more yandere tendencies and just writing them off like "oh~ he's just a little quirky, aren't we all!" they very much would just. either let themselves be convinced by dick or straight up gaslight themselves into doubting the depth of dick's darker side.

“Ah, I haven’t been to this world in quite some time.” While he made his effort to not visibly show it, Lugh could feel every fiber of his being tense the moment he entered.

He felt as if the unseeing and shaded eyes of the towering golden statues guarding the arena gate recognized him, welcoming him back for what could very well be another round with the fates that be. They loomed, flaunting their agelessness and power while he sported the years that tolled on his soul.

Myst glanced at him curiously, “Oh? If I may ask, Master, what prevented you from returning?”

He hummed, arms folded behind his back as he continued staring down the statues, “That is a personal matter, one that has haunted me since my youth.” He paused, “However, if I am to prevent you from following the errors of the past, I suppose I may indulge. You must promise me you will never use this knowledge unless it is truly dire, understood?”

Myst looked taken aback. She pressed a hand to her chest and nodded, “Of course.”

He turned his attention to her, “In my youth, an advanced class taught at our academy had gone missing during their Mark of Mastery exam. Another class under them was sent out to find them by order of their Master, and they were directed here.” He swept a hand around the area, “This world houses gods and beasts that roam and protect the domains, but there was one god - the king of the Underworld - that could provide them with answers.”

Myst trailed the path his hand took, seemingly looking for something unseen to her.

“And they did find answers,” he continued, “However, the god asked for something in return - a life. One of the classmates was to be kept in the Underworld for an eternity serving this god while the rest were burdened with knowledge that would later get them killed.”

“Did… Did that student make it out after all this time?”

Lugh shook his head, “As far as I know, he was as good as gone, however the reason is a story I will have to spin another time. I witnessed all this firsthand, and my takeaway was that you cannot always trust a higher power. Hades will trade your soul for great things that no mere mortal can have, and you must promise me you will never go to him for any favors.”

Myst gave a nod, “You have my word.”

“What’s all this talk about Hades? I prefer not to think about that guy if I can help it.” From behind, a short and stout satyr came sauntering up to the pair, stroking his beard, and eyeing them until his face reflected with recognition, “Lugh! What a sight for sore eyes, it’s been ages! You look great!” His attention turned to Myst, “And who~ is this?”

“Phil, this is my apprentice, Myst.” Lugh gave a good natured laugh, but casted Phil a side-eye glance that made him stiffen, “Knowing your track record, I trust you will treat her as a student so long as we are here, especially if you know what is good for you.”

Myst politely bowed her head, “A pleasure to meet you, Phil.”

“My, my. It’s definitely been a long time if you have an apprentice. Man, where do those years go?” Phil rubbed his head, “Anyway, what brings you two here to the coliseum?”

“We are travelling around, seeing the sights, and revisiting old landmarks. A true trip down memory lane, you could say.” Lugh gestured to the gate of the coliseum itself, “I was hoping, if it’s not too much trouble, to see if we could borrow the arena for some training. Unless you retired from that business?”

“Well, I recently picked up this scrawny hero wannabe and took him under my wing, so my retirement has been postponed. I don’t see why we can’t let you borrow our stomping ground for a bit, if not to provide him some guidance on real action and skill. He’s… a work in progress.”

“Splendid.” Lugh followed Phil, with Myst not far behind them, “Once we get set up, you must tell me more of this new apprentice of yours.”

Right Now

There's an older man she's been connecting with, but she feels quite bored—it doesn’t feel like love, just her type. Yet whenever he speaks, she rolls her eyes because she finds people in general unbearable.

She's been sensitive to some recent losses, especially involving people she cares about. She sees a friend who's been really upset over losing something. She's also been dealing with a difficult man and has tried to reconnect, even stalking him a little. It could be a childhood friend or someone similar.

At the same time, there's someone else she's been interacting with—someone who brings her peace. She feels comfortable with him and sees the relationship as balanced.

However, she's going through a personal transformation. She used to treat everything lightly, with a sense of humor, but that's changing. She’s facing uncomfortable shifts in how she handles relationships and herself.

Love Life

I don't think she's in a serious relationship. In fact, it seems quite the opposite—she's involved with multiple people who catch her attention and attraction. There's someone, possibly a coworker or someone in her field, whom she's been meeting. She misses this person. but doesn’t trust them emotionally.

Then there are two people around her age with whom she feels good harmony, but she believes their values don’t match, so nothing serious would work out.

She’s been working a lot on self-love, making it a priority. She’s learned from past relationships and now focuses on herself. She's quick to move on from things that don’t work and feels emotionally balanced.

Some connections are just physical, without commitment. Some of these people are in her friend circle, but she feels like they could never really understand her world. She constantly reaffirms her own worth. She’s had a bad experience, but now she has many options and prefers non-committed involvement.

Career

She feels very alone in many aspects of her life. There's no one she truly relies on in her career, but even so, she celebrates her own progress. She takes care of herself, values who she is, and has been working hard on her self-esteem—it’s been a key point for her.

She's good at handling changes, even last-minute or drastic ones at work. She adapts quickly, staying calm and confident. She's very passionate about what she does, especially something she’s currently working on. It might involve acting or performing, and she’s giving it her all.

She's been receiving many opportunities—one might involve working with someone well-known and admired, young like her, and also quite popular. When an opportunity doesn’t match her standards, she walks away, valuing herself and her work.

Family

She has a lot of issues with her father, which have been keeping her up at night. There may have been a recent argument with him—or with another older male figure she deeply respects in the family.

This situation has deeply affected her. She constantly feels like she’s trying to be seen or recognized by him, but that day never comes. She feels invisible.

However, she does have the support of a guy her age who admires her work and helps her with family matters. She really values his companionship. Still, she feels disconnected from her family, like it’s impossible to have a meaningful conversation. Every time she tries, she doesn’t know what to say.

She feels judged all the time, like they’re always pointing fingers at what she’s done or said. She tries to be perfect for them, but it never seems to be enough.

Friendships

She doesn’t have much time for friendships—her focus is on work. She puts her career first. She still holds onto a few close friendships, likely from childhood or before her rise to fame. These are people she still values.

I do see one friendship ending, possibly with a woman her age or a little older. It seems like she doesn’t invest too much in making deep or long-lasting connections nowadays.

Some friendships even cross over into romantic territory, with a sense of mutual exchange—favors for favors. There’s always some kind of give-and-take involved.

Future

Her relationship with her family is going to improve. She’ll manage to create more balance and lessen the emotional distance.

She’ll also begin to carefully choose the friendships she wants to keep in her life, especially those that resonate with her spiritually and match her energy.

She might go through some conflicts or stress involving certain people—both friends and romantic interests.

There’s also a chance for a new relationship to enter her life. It’ll take time, but her heart will open up again. However, there’s a possibility it might not work out because of her strong desire for freedom and her love for social events. The person she ends up liking may not share that lifestyle, which could lead to incompatibility.

So this is something I think about a lot as I have a fucked up back. Fortunately, I have a really good group of drs so I've been able to go longer and longer without a flair up, but when I'm incapacitated on my couch, thinking of how these guys would react brings me so much comfort.

I think most of the boys would be really understanding and helpful. But let's get into it! HCs below the cut :)

Hunter may be able to sense acutely when you have a bad day before you even notice the symptoms (those heightened senses strike me like the way medical alert dogs can sense a seizure coming on in their human). His first instinct is to hold you against him, but he holds off until he ensures you are in the most comfortable place, your environment is perfect for what you need, and you have any medication needed. Then he'll wrap around you and do what he can to make you feel better. IDK why, but I feel like he'd gently hum a little tune as he holds you, literally trying anything and everything to soothe you. If he can't take away the physical pain, he can make damn sure you feel cared for.

Wrecker is also someone who's gonna try and cuddle you through an episode. If that's something that helps you, you'll be in heaven. He'll literally make a nest for you and bring you all the snacks. If your condition comes with muscle pain, he'll give you the most gentle and soothing massage. He will get that sad look in his eyes, though. Personally, I like seeing my partner care but I know some people don't like to feel pitied so if that's you, you may need to have a conversation with him. Similarly, if physical contact isn't helpful for you, you'll have to let him down gently. Best to give him something else to do - like help with the responsibilities you can't do - because Wrecker really doesn't like feeling as if he can't help.

Tech is going to learn everything about your condition itself. And I mean everything. He'll become the (secret) preeminent expert on your condition if he has to - and he'll very much believe he has to because frankly he doesn't trust previous doctors who told you this was just a condition you'll have to live with. You have to have a few talks with him that his insistence on trying new approaches to "cures" isn't helpful when you're having a flair up, and that while you love the intention behind it, you need him to either help you in the moment or leave it to you. That sobers him up a bit. But he mostly just puts the "cure" search on the backburner and focuses more on finding the optimal remedies for your symptoms in the moment. He won't really cuddle with you unless you expressly ask but he absolutely will bring his datapad into the room and research/work by your bedside so he can monitor your progress. He'll wake you every few hours to give you more medicine and make sure you stay hydrated.

Echo also studies up on your condition, but unlike Tech, he only cares about remedies. He'll run his findings by Tech, but generally trusts the literature regarding mitigating symptoms. If you find something that works better than other remedies, he's a stickler about making sure you have access to that remedy at all times. He's a big believer in being prepared. He may have some small treats for you, but he'd prefer to have nutritionally balanced food for you during a flair up to give your body everything it needs to get through this and recover. He usually doesn't cuddle with you, preferring to give you the space you need to settle in and recover. But he will be touching you constantly - caressing your head or arm - and talking softly with you if you're up for it.

Crosshair doesn't like admitting your condition scares him. You've explained it's not fatal or anything but it does cause you pain on the regular. And he doesn't like how matter of fact you are when you tell him you experience pain strong enough to put you out of commission with enough regularity that you have a plan for what to do when it happens. He knows you're not a complainer and you tend to push yourself, so for something to knock you out means it's serious. He feels useless and weak at not being able to help in what he feels is a meaningful way.

At first, he'll pull away, selfishly hiding from the sight of you in pain because he doesn't want to confront it. But if he does see you struggling or if he hears you in pain/call his name, he'll be right at your side. You need him. You asked for him. He won't leave you alone again. It'll take him a bit to figure out little tricks to helping you/making you feel better, but eventually he'll get into a rhythm. And woe be to anyone who crosses your path if you have a flair up in public - Crosshair is very much a shoot/punch first ask if they were a threat to you (in act or attitude) later.

501st Boys

Jesse, and Fives are going to learn all they can about the best way to make you feel better not through research but literally by quizzing you. They try asking the first time they see you in an acute flair up and realize those questions will have to wait until you're feeling a little better. And by quiz, I mean these guys prove why ARCs are made different. They'll get down into the minute details. The next time you feel your pain coming on, they'll make sure the environment is perfect for you to rest - as dark and quiet as you need, with all the water and snacks you could possibly want. And they'll totally give you snacks you want that'll make you feel better emotionally more than good for you snacks. If they can stay, they'll bring you bring you fresh, cool towels to drape over your forehead or ice packs/heating packs for your muscles every 30 minutes. Both feel like failures when they have to leave you during an episode.

Between the two, Jesse definitely relies on his humor and tries to keep you talking (if it doesn't hurt you more) to get you through this, and you love that he treats you like normal, that there's no pity in his eyes. But for Fives, this is a situation where he actually gets quiet, lowering his energy to give you the space to rest up.

Kix is, like Tech, going to do all the research. Unlike Tech, Kix has access to military-grade medical facilities. And he WILL use them to get a thorough understanding not just of your condition, but how your body handles the condition. He hates to see you in pain, and it's a negotiation with him as to how much medication you want/need as if Kix had his way, he'd just stick you in a bacta tank each flair up to minimize your pain and any damage ... which obviously isn't practical. Also, there's no "Maybe I can push through it, this flair up feels manageable." The moment Kix knows you're feeling symptoms, you're in the medbay. You'll also find the smallest of treats next to your bed when you wake up.

Dogma similarly, tolerates no negotiation. Sure, you've been dealing with your condition for a while, but if you're not following dr.'s or Kix's orders to the letter, he will make you. I feel like Dogma is incredibly passionate and feels deeply, and he will not risk your health or well being, even if you ask him to just trust you. Eventually, you need a mediation with Kix so Dogma gives you a little room to breathe. Like Wrecker, it helps to give Dogma things to do while you have a flair up so he feels like he's helping. He'll bring you everything you need and then go tidy up your living space or do your paperwork on your behalf or just general errands you need to run. Acts of service is his love language anyway, so this is a system that works really well for you both.

Rex hates that he can't always be with you during a flair up. He literally has a list of people you can call (in order of those he trusts the most to take care of you) if you need assistance. But you've come up with a code to message to his datapad in case he can't be there. If he gets your message, he'll excuse himself as quickly as possible to call you and just talk you through the worst of your flair up and ask if you need someone to be with you.

If he can be there, you won't find a more attentive and gentle person to nurse you through. He'll make sure you're settled and have everything you need and he'll talk you through it until you fall asleep. Then, he'll straighten up your living space and make some food for you for when you wake up. When you do, he'll give you a small portion to start with and hold you against him when you're done.

Tup will run you the most perfect bath ever. Water at the perfect temperature, no harsh smells in case that makes things worse. He helps you get settled then starts helping you wash. And by helping I mean he refuses to let you do anything for yourself. Getting your hair washed by Tup is a spiritual experience and something that, even if your pain persists, reenergizes your soul. He'll dry you gently with the fluffiest towels and then settles you in your room with all your comforts. He's another who will sit by your side until you feel better and he'll cuddle on request if it won't hurt you more.

Yes I'm actually doing this on a Wednesday wooo :D

So, with that off of my list of works in progress, as is answering all the tag games and quizzes, some projects I'm working on atm:

Writing: Love is stored in the olive jar (WT) - Chapter 13

It's done, but still needs a lot of editing, as it got very heavy on dialogue in the end and I want it all to flow more nicely and make it a bit more scenic XD Too many instances of "she looked up again" or "he paused for a moment/second" xD But I'm getting there! Here's a snippet from the already somewhat polished beginning:

“Alright,” Fuentes said as she finally caught her breath again, “I suggest we cut straight to the chase.” “Yes,” V nodded, “Thank you again for taking the time.” “Of course,” Fuentes nodded, “I have to admit, I have been thinking about you and your case a lot these past days. Even with the limited knowledge I have so far, I still believe I may be able to help. If you are willing now to tell me more about your condition now, of course.” ‘Willing’ wasn’t the word V would use, it was more a necessity at this point. “I will,” he said, “But only if you can provide me with a certain level of security.” Fuentes shifted in her chair slightly and frowned, then she opened one of the drawers of her desk and pulled out a tablet. She turned it on and began to search for something on it while maintaining eye contact with V as best as she managed. “You’ve come here today as my patient. As far as I’m concerned, everything, anything that we discuss, falls under the doctor-patient confidentiality. My contract with the Little China MedCenter binds me to treat your data and information with utmost care and discretion. All data we store is locked away securely, all in accordance with your Trauma Team policy. I can resend you the patient information papers and contracts, although I think most of them you should already have…” “I care less about the MedCenter than about what you personally do with the information I’m going to give you,” V said, and Fuentes stopped her search, narrowing her eyes slightly. “I’m not sure what you’re alluding to,” she said, still polite, but significantly more tense than before. “Nothing,” V shook his head carefully, “This is just not something I tell random strangers on the street… no offense, of course. If I have to play with open cards, I need you to as well.”

And in a sudden burst of inspiration I wrote out a long although not very serious convo between Vince and Johnny the other day xD I'd love to turn it into a (VP) comic maybe, but I'm not sure yet XD

Modding: 👀👀👀

I'm working on a little something maybe, and I'm so excited :DDD Just gotta relearn how to do Archive XL, it's been half a year xD And I fought MLSetup Builder so fucking hard, but now I know how to edit MLMask Setups, so that's a victory at least XD And I have a base for a very kitschy coat :3

But yes, so much to that so far! See you again in a month or so probably with an ever-growing pile of wips xD But maybe some more writing, maybe some more art, and maybe a finished mod after too long 👀

Day 16 - third-rate - Altani + Mogren  - G

Summary: Altani calms down her pissed off moogle friend, as they think about a certain redhead who wronged them

(Vaile would have loved moogles in another time/life, but this is the one where he still needs to unlock his childhood wonder yet again, so instead they just annoy him lol.)

“Can you believe the nerve of that guy, kupo?!” Mogren flapped their wings furiously as they flitted to and fro in front of Altani’s face. 

They’d been agitated like this for a while, so Altani had settled down cross-legged in front of their campfire, waiting to see how long her friend could go on. So far, it's been half a bell. She was currently roasting some fish over the fire, waiting for it to get flaky. A meal might be enough to distract the moogle. If not, at least it would fill her grumbling belly.

“Yeah, the laughter was a bit much. You weren’t even telling a joke! If you were, I would’ve laughed too, because you know I think you’re hilarious, buddy.” “So right you are, Tani. He was waaaay outta line! Not even grateful a moogle was gracing his presence. How many men can even say they’ve seen one of us, kupo. What a brat.” Altani chuckled lightly at that. Vaile was around her age, but he acted like he knew so much more about the world than her, and disregarded her when she tried to get him to loosen up a bit and have some fun with her and Mogren. He thought their antics were childish, but in her opinion, he really was a brat, thinking he was above enjoying time off and relaxing with a bit of drink and cheer. 

(Cahsi had been making some progress with the guy, getting him to open up and soften the sharp edges, probably because she could easily hand his ass to him and didn’t take his shite for very long. 

Altani had mixed success, if she was being generous. She didn’t see him as much, and with Mogren almost always at her side and butting heads with him every time they so much as got within 5 yalms of each other, Altani had had little time to try to strengthen their friendship on her own. They seemed to get along best when training together, martial prowess leading to mutual respect. She’d like to think they were friends, anyway. Vaile didn’t wholeheartedly threaten her anymore with his scythe, and that was good enough for her.

Luvon wasn’t doing so well with him, but he was a very hopeful and persistent guy, so she didn’t worry too much about him. Every time he opened up his mouth, he seemed to say just the wrong thing to set Vaile off, which was funny. Luvon may have been practically blind, but he had a way of seeing right through to the core of people immediately, making them vulnerable. It could be uncomfortable, forced to face yourself and be honest when you’re around him, so she could see how Vaile would hate it. It was difficult for someone who wanted to keep their true feelings hidden to interact with someone like that, so the two did not get along that well yet. Cahsi, Altani, and Luvon had hope for this project, though! Vaile was just like a feral kitten. Eventually with enough exposure to kindness, he would become tamed, but you had to mostly let him come to you. That was the goal, anyway - to ‘domesticate’ him. They were really sick of meeting up and nearly devolving into fights, and he seemed like he genuinely wanted to change and seemed interested in trying out heroics instead, so they agreed to work on befriending him. To give him a support network. That way he wouldn’t fall down back into the darkness again. The trio had explored numerous dungeons together now, but never with Vaile. The plan was to drag him along with their group sometime soon so they could all bond. Nothing like fighting together with someone, facing danger and putting your life in their hands to build trust and understanding quickly! 

Still. A work in progress. Vaile pisses Mogren off or vice versa, then Altani ends up being mediator. She’d like to move on from that, but not yet, apparently.)

“I agree Vaile’s a total brat, but you’re not the first moogle he’s seen, did you know that? That’s why he didn’t seem surprised or awestruck when he first met you. I learned from Cahsi that he had a run-in with a few of your fellow Churning Mist moogles once. They were all over him, teasing and poking fun! He tried attacking a few, but that didn’t end well for him. I don’t think he hates moogles, though. He’s never tried hurting you, right? He just talks a big game. I guess he’s not… whimsical enough to appreciate your kind as much as he should.” “Make him have more whimsy, then!” “I’m trying! He’s stubborn!” “Well keep trying. That does explain our first meeting, though, kupo. I brought out all the stops: the flourishes, the sparkles, I even shined up my pom! His reaction was one of the most lackluster I’d ever seen. But still, I’m not happy with him. He insulted my music!” “He should’ve been nicer about it for sure. Damn colorful insults when the twerp feels like it, though, I have to give him that. If only he’d use that creativity to join us in story time… And to be fair…” “Oh no, kupo, you better not be about to defend him! He called me a third-rate artist, Tani! Prepros-pros?-prostro…crazy!” As though to demonstrate, Mogren played a chord on their harp. The defense fell flat, as it was much messier than usual. “Nah, not an excuse for his rudeness, but you weren’t at the top of your game today, either. You hit the bottle a little hard today–barely saved any for me, you little puffball! And you forgot to tune your harp before offering to play a song. That plus your tipsy playing just wasn't the best mix. Sorry to say, Mogren, but it was a lil messy.” Altani made a motion with her thumb and pointer finger, bringing them close together, to show that it was just a tad off. Not too bad. But definitely not something that was going to impress someone as sober and serious as Vaile. Drunken songs only worked on other drunk people. Mogren plucked at their harp a bit more before sighing, their pom drooping down in front of their face. “It really is out of tune, wah!! How embarrassing, kupo. Still, he should’ve taken pity on a poor spirits-addled moogle! I bet my messy playing is still better than anything he could do.” “Hmmm…” Altani pretended to think for a moment. Before Mogren could shriek in outrage and try to fruitlessly pummel her with their fuzzy little fists, she grinned widely and continued. ”Oh most definitely. I’d bet on you for sure any day, Ren. You’re much older and practiced than him. Can you imagine him trying to play some delicate stringed instrument?” Mogren burst into giggles. “The brute would be so bad at it! The strings would snap immediately. If he messed up, he’d probably break his instrument like a baby having a tantrum!” “I could see that, yeah. Stomp on it or throw it in a ravine. Ooh, or throw it up in the air and slice it in half! Yeah, he’d do something dramatic like that. Bet he’d be great at the drums, though. If he took his anger out on those, we’d all go deaf!” Altani joined in with her own giggles. 

Was it a little mean to laugh about the guy she was trying to get closer to behind his back? Maybe, but also he started it by insulting her best friend when they were inebriated. He had to learn to be a little nicer if he didn’t want people poking fun at him. Besides, he made it so easy. 

“Next time he comes by, I’ll show him just how wrong he was. He’s going to be brought to tears by my beautiful playing! Then he’ll have to run away to hide the tears on his face, but I’ll know!” “Woohoo, that’s the spirit, buddy! Imagine how embarrassing it’d be for him to admit he was wrong and to give you a compliment? I can’t wait.” At least Mogren was no longer fuming and was back to their usual jovial and somewhat mischievous self.

A few malms away, Vaile felt a shiver pass through him as he rode away on his chocobo. Why did he suddenly feel like he should be regretful… Oh well, not worth worrying about. He was just glad to be away from the cacophony of that camp.

how do i know if i'm ready to take in a glat(glenncat)¡?!?!

great question!

so, the truth is, it really depends what kind of glat you're thinking of adopting... there are many different breeds, but I'll be specifically addressing three in this post: Dennis cats, Jack cats, and cliff cats. Now, all three need preparation, and while some may appear 'easier' than others, there are associated difficulties with each one that you have to be ready to deal with.

Let's start with Jack cats- these are arguably the easiest to take care of, because they're pretty self-sufficient in many ways. They'll groom themselves well (as will all glats, but with Jack cats you won't have the problem of over-grooming which sometimes accompanies other breeds), and will remind you when they're hungry. They enjoy being petted.

They can grow agitated at intervals, and during these intervals you should be prepared to stay away from the Jack cat for a while. Thankfully, they exhibit typical warning signs before entering one of these rage states (ears flat, tail puffed, etc).

Before adopting a Jack cat, you should make sure you have an adequate bed (though they will adapt to sleeping anywhere, really), some intellectually stimulating toys, and a copy of Republic by Plato to read at him if he starts to get agitated and you feel there is time to calm him down.

Moving on to Cliff kittens- these little guys are slightly higher maintenance than Jack cats, not because of their rage (Cliff kittens are demure compared to their brethren) but because of their delicacies. They are prone to getting sick often, are frequent over-groomers, and are sometimes afraid of their own shadow. They like to act big and brave, marching around the house like panthers, but when it comes down to it they will be knocked down by a particularly strong gust of wind. Literally. Don't let them outside without a weighted harness. Their diets are also pretty restricted because of a whole host of allergies and food preferences.

Aside from these traits, though, Cliff kittens have wonderful temperaments. They're lapcats at heart and are incredibly loyal- during thunderstorms, they'll seek you out to sit with you not just for their own safety but also for yours.

Before adopting a Cliff kitten, make sure you buy special food, a good collar with a bell (he's small so you'll need to know when he's coming round the corner to avoid tripping over him), and a bunch of soft toys. A nice big fluffy bed is also preferable, so he can snuggle into it during his frequent bouts of illness. Oh, and on that note, get every cat medication you can find. He might not have that specific ailment now, but he almost certainly will at some point.

Finally... Dennis cats. These are the most high maintenance of all glats, and are usually only taken on by owners with prior glat experience. It's recommended that you pick up a Jack cat first if you're interested in Dennis cats, because a lot of their traits are fairly similar, but those of Dennis cats tend to be exaggerated tenfold.

Dennis cats often (and unfortunately) come from less than ideal environments. They aren't the most trusting, and they scratch. A. Lot. It's important to remember that this isn't them being intentionally cruel, it's a defence mechanism brought about by fear- and patience is the only thing to conquer that fear. Progress with Dennis cats will be sluggish, especially at first, but in the end, it's incredibly rewarding to see a Dennis cat come out of his shell. When he sits on your lap for the first time, that's how you know that you're really getting somewhere.

Before getting a Dennis cat, make sure you get some gloves (for yourself, to prevent damage from scratches), toys, and a whole load of self confidence.

One of my favorite moments is playing games with everyone. Even though the game can get a little toxic at times, that’s actually what makes it so much fun! • Being a new survivor who was just dropped into a trial

• Instead of being scared there was just confusion running through your veins

• You were pretty sure that last night you didn't go to sleep in a cornfield

• Walking around nothing makes sense about wherever you are

• Then you walked into someone, and that person had a mask on and a knife in his hand

• By now you were convinced that this was either a dream or a really elaborate prank from your friends

• You should probably be more scared but for some reason, you felt internally calm in this situation

• "Where am I bro?' was bro the right word to call a random guy with a knife

• Probably not but it is what it is and you couldn't go back now

• Not being able to see his expression made you a little bit unsure but then you heard him chuckle which then developed into full-blown laughter

• "did you really see me with a knife and your first thought was to call me bro" he was still laughing and then you started laughing too

• "Seriously are you just stupid or insane" you rubbed your neck in embarrassment and then the laughter slowly died down

• You then repeated yourself asking " but seriously where am I, because I'm pretty sure didn't pass out in a field yesterday."

• You still couldn't see his face but he rubbed his neck in the same manner you had before "yeah about that...“

• he introduced himself as Frank and explained all the stuff with survivors, killers the entity, and how things worked around here

• Even though he is a killer he told you he would be nice this one time because you made him laugh and were completely new

• This was greatly appreciated from your side and then he brought you to one of those generators

• He told you to just try and repair it and he would come back

• You heard something light up on the map and then some screams were heard

• You trusted Frank and continued repairing which was way harder than you thought it would be

• The gen constantly exploded in your face and you made barely any progress

• After more frustration and kicking the gen angrily, Frank appeared again

• He joked that kicking gens is his job and you let your gaze wander over him, you saw the sweat dripping down his neck, the heaving of his chest, and then your gaze landed on the blood which covered his hands and more importantly his knife

• You don't know why you didn't think the knife was dangerous before, probably because you guys were joking around and you didn't even think that he could hurt you

• Dread filled you but you stood your ground not wanting him to think you were scared

• He came closer and you were frozen on that spot but he walked past you to the gen and tapped it before asking " having troubles with this? I could hear this thing exploding at least 10 times"

• Him behaving like before made you relax and made you let a chuckle out before answering "well have you tried to repair one of those. Every time I think I did something right and then boom it explodes yet again "

• Frank laughed saying "Nah I'm happy that I'm on this side and just have to kick these little shits"

• You then said out loud what you thought the entire time "you know even though you told me you are a killer I find it weird with you know how normal we are talking right now it almost makes it unbelievable if I didn’t see the knife"

• He looked around and informed you that he needed to go again real quick and that you should continue to try and repair the gen

• With that he sped away to who knows where and you angrily locked at the machine before sticking your hands into the mess of cables again

• You heard some screams again and the short loss of concentration made the gen explode again

• You went back to the gen and the sound of the machine churning to live covered up the sound of Frank quickly taking someone out before they could alert you

• For some reason he was fond of you and didn't want you to be scared of him at least yet

• You continued innocently repairing the gen without much progress while your teammates all went down quickly with one member basically doing nothing

• You finally finished your generator but at that time Frank killed everyone else and came back to you

• You proudly showed off your work and Frank applauded you "now you only need to do this with four more and you can escape"

• Frank grinned behind his mask seeing you with a shocked face and asking if that was true

• "Well sorta, your other teammates also repair gens so you don't need to actually do it all alone but in total there need to be five gens finished to escape"

• While Frank gave you a quick run down at the start he left out quite a bit of information

• He showed you around the map with everyone else gone there was no threat of someone fucking this up

• Everything was explained in detail but he left some of the more brutal parts out before he brought you to the hatch

• You looked down into this weird void not really wanting to go down there

• "is it really the way to escape from here because I really don't trust this weird void "

• Frank laughed "do you want me to hold your hand while jumping down"

• There was worry on your face " you know usually I would think that this is a good joke but maybe I will actually take you up on that offer because this feels too ominous even for me"

• You held your hand expectantly to him and at first, he just looked at it but then he tried wiping the blood un his hand off on his pants

• He put his hand into yours and you squeezed it while taking a deep breath before you let go and jumped

currently hmm at the moment ig byakuya? 😭😭😭 most hated characters keeps changing every time i try to tackle stuff from different points of views

and where i am at the moment is making byakuya hatable in my AU story by highlighting him at his worst n yeah i really got into the groove of needing to find reasons to hate him to find his flaws.

but heyyyyy just spin it around a bit and this isnt too hard to think abt n idk by exercising more ideas

ok ill list like a few things uhhhhh

i find his backstory very convincing as to why he's the way he is, as much as he does kinda reinforce the cycle of pride and humility from being put up on a pedestal from circumstances outside of his control having to compete with others and finding a way to work his way up to survive in a hostile upbringing is commendable.

i like how quickly he decides on a goal and plans with the information he has available on hand and how he is very upfront with his remarks and makes himself heard

OH and how he's still level-headed when the others r acting paranoid in comparison keeping composure like that is vv admirable yesyes

tho not drastically he does kinda starts to tone it down in the later chapters around when like kyoko disses him publicly/aoi slaps him and maybe like even as a response to seeing makoto showing more confidence as the game progresses he does show more willingness to cooperate and b helpful

he's also reasonably angry towards junko recognizing how fucked up this whole killing game thing is. so hes def not heartless and generally has some potential on reforming which is further expanded upon on the sequel and UDG

ok... he is funny SOMETIMES. like when he slips up and contradicts himself out of trying soooo hard to be right hheh i lauffinged. and his va's delivery makes it all the more better.

IG. HE DOESNT KILL ANYONE. ch2 is still a disaster but it did do the job of getting across that he did want to test if anyone is competent to figure out the added layer of difficulty with the crime being tampered with. and as an attempt to get people to not suspect him or to target him as he believes he trusts in his own ability to make it out of the killing game without killing anyone and that. could be seen as a merciful choice out of the other option of leaving the killing game as the blackened . he may not like people. but doesnt nearly hate the others enough to have a real reason to kill anyone

maybe i dont nearly hate this guy as much as i thought i do. this was fun to do! when i go back to being mildly annoyed by the other rivals from the other games i should do this again

For my own answer, Haiji is too obvious a choice, so I'll use Teruteru for my example:

I do like that Teruteru has a genuine love and care for his mother, and it really hits me when he breaks down.

Antagonists, anti-heroes, and villains: A how-to (part 1)

Antagonists are what arguably drive a story. From facilitating conflict and plot progression, to defining and shaping the protagonist. A well written villain could turn your story from meh to unforgettable.

manipulation_.

Good and bad isn’t black and white. A well written villain will bring intrigue to their points and make them appeal, even if you don’t directly support them.

For example, 1984 by George Orwell was greatly improved thanks to O’Brien - while I don’t think he is correct in anything he’s done, I was immersed in his reasonings and manipulative personality.

Taken from the book, I fully believe this following passage shows gaslighting and manipulative anti-heroes and the effect they have on the victim:

“...but the aim of this was simply to humiliate him and destroy his power of arguing and reasoning. Their real weapon was the merciless questioning that went on and on, hour after hour, tripping him up, laying traps for him, twisting everything that he said, convicting him at every step of lies and self-contradiction until he began weeping as much from shame as from nervous fatigue. Sometimes he would weep half a dozen times in a single session. Most of the time they screamed abuse at him and threatened at every hesitation to deliver him over to the guards again; but sometimes they would suddenly change their tune, call him comrade, appeal to him in the name of Ingsoc and Big Brother, and ask him sorrowfully whether even now he had not enough loyalty to the Party left to make him wish to undo the evil he had done. When his nerves were in rags after hours of questioning, even this appeal could reduce him to snivelling tears. In the end the nagging voices broke him down more completely than the boots and fists of the guards. He became simply a mouth that uttered, a hand that signed, whatever was demanded of him. His sole concern was to find out what they wanted him to confess, and then confess it quickly, before the bullying started anew.”

Other examples include Mother Gothel from Tangled and Light Yagami from Death note

Knowing the importance of a manipulative character, here’s how to write one:

Seclusion. By secluding and isolating the victim from other influences that can counter the scheming tactics. By taking someone away from familiar settings and people, they are more vulnerable

Guilt tripping and (mildly) degrading comments. Even minor playful ‘jokes’ or ‘teasing’ can contribute. By making someone feel worse or making them feel in debt, they feel morally obligated to stick around. Some might call this ‘playing the victim card’ (Some manipulators might switch between victimizing themselves and being the bully. Whatever is most convenient at the time)

Trust. There has to be a level of trust between victim and the character before they make any moves. Someone is more likely to overlook manipulative advances from someone who has helped them, shared moments with them, etc,. The victim will logically be more likely to trust a friend more than a stranger.

Remember, this doesn’t always happen immediately. Manipulators may be skilled in their craft, but they aren’t magic. It can take take days, weeks, months, or even years for a character to manipulate their targets.

base it off real life_.

A realistic character is always more interesting that a 2d one. People have layers, caked upon each other. If you're having trouble to write your antagonist - base it off real life.

E.g. You want to write a clown serial killer, base it off The Joker from batman, or "Clown Killer Gacy" (John Wayne Gacy)

All villains have motive, taking the example of Blake Leibel - he tortured and murdered his fiance because their newborn daughter was taking away all the attention, as well as stress from avoiding Russian mob bosses that were trying to get money back from his brother.

Analyze villains you like from your favourite books, animes and movies. Delve deep and do research!
