im so much more interested in a hoo that lets Percy keep the status and power he'd left off with in the Last Olympian and explores how he grapples with that instead of immediately forcing him back into the role of the underdog at the expense of his prior development. Let the fact that he alone has the title the "Savior of Olympus" mean something. Let the fact that he is the sole survivor of the great prophecy mean something. Let the Curse of Achilles mean something. Let us see how it's a curse and how it could warp his sense of self. Let Percy be on a completely different playing field than the rest of the seven (or even the other children of the big three at this point) and show us how it alienates him.

A “minor” lab accident caused Jack and Maddie to be knocked backwards through the portal into the Ghost Zone.

It didn’t take too long for Danny to notice and go in after them in the Specter Speeder, but time in the Zone can be wonky. He has no idea how long it’s been from their perspective, nor how much chaos they could have caused with that time.

So he went in fully expecting to quite possibly emerge in a giant clusterfuck of a battlefield.

Except, it turns out their chaos went in a different direction.

After being forced to interact with ghosts in new contexts, they chilled out about the ghost hunting thing. Instead, they settled into performing more anthropological and ecological studies of the ghosts.

But they’re still them, so they’re the ontological opposite of “subtle” or “low-key”.

They may not be chasing ghosts around guns blazing, but they are chasing them around pestering them with questions. Or stalking them around taking notes on behavior. Or just generally causing unmatched chaos in other ways.

Apparently Maddie ended up leading a revolution in another haunt that was ruled similarly to Aragorn’s, almost becoming a cult leader in the process. Jack broke into Pariah’s Keep and nearly woke up the sealed king to “ask for directions” (or possibly did wake him up; Danny’s heard conflicting rumors. He doesn’t think that that could have happened without anyone noticing, but with his parents he’s never sure).

Danny thinks he heard some Observants mutterings about an “interdimensional incident” too, but he isn’t touching that with a ten foot pole.

as a writer my relationship with dragon age can be summed up by that one interview where it’s gaider, jhep and someone else talking about the exalted march dlc, and at one point someone brings up, “yeah we were gonna have you meet justice still inside of kristoff and he’d be like, ‘kirkwall? i never went to kirkwall.’”

and in the five seconds before i read the next line my brain went, holy shit that’s genius— so anders was never possessed? he was just radicalized the way anyone who had his experiences would be? and the possession was an invention of varric’s— maybe he mentioned justice to varric over drinks once— an exoneration, an insanity plea, and, subconsciously, a personal way of coping with the fact that his friend did something that ripped his home apart. holy shit, that is actually such an incredible way of using the frame story of da2, what the fuck—

and then the next line someone else says, “yep, because the demon that possessed anders was just a random demon that tricked him into thinking it was justice.”

and im just like oh. right. this is dragon age. ok.
