Soo I really should’ve posted this a while ago but I was waiting to get marks back for it. I don’t know what my unis policy is with posting assignments but I wanted to be safe rather than sorry.
So this tri one of my classes was on animation in video games and the assignment was we had to make ‘a game entity.’ What they expected us to do was to use pre made assets and just add code in unreal engine to make them playable.
Me being *normal* and *sane* pitched IN FRONT OF MY ENTIRE CLASS (I swear everyone at that university just knows me as the miraculous girl) to make cat noir and do ALL THE ANIMATIONS from scratch. Yknow like a moron.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They’re not my best work but time constraints. I picked cat noir over ladybug because I knew I could draw him faster (all those spots make me want to die) and his pre s6 design for the same reason, I know it better so I can do it faster.
The animations I made were an idle, jump, fall, run and attack. (Everything but the attack was mandatory to pass)
I drew some new buildings for the environment (but I mostly reused spring and a storm assets SUE ME I HAD TO CUT CORNERS SOMEWHERE) and made cat noir into a *mostly* functional video game character.
Now before anyone asks. No I’m not making this into a full video game. I did it for my university and that’s it. While it was fun, I do not have the time nor energy to start a project that big right now.

Elden Ring DLC Bosses Revealed!
From Software has released a guide to all the bosses of the upcoming Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree! Here are the ten great monsters you'll fight in the Shadow Lands:
Tumblr media
Messmer The Impaler
Messmer is the third triplet with Malenia and Miquella, banished to the shadow lands because for liking snakes and impaling people. Mostly for impaling people, but the snakes didn't help.
Tumblr media
The Burning Colossus
A big heap of flaming bodies used as a weapon of war in the rival kingdom of Nausicuu, this massive beast has to be scaled and slain because that's what you do with colossi in games.
Tumblr media
Albinauric Orphan Tear
The missing link between mimics and albinaurics, this monster throws his "husk" at the player like a boomerang. The first boss of the DLC, it guards the cave that leads to the Shadow Tree.
Tumblr media
Godskin Brigade
The Gloam-Eyed Queen is guarded by an army of her progeny, the godskins. They bear her most fearsome weapon, the Incantation of Ganqskwa-Darengi, which makes them act unpredictably and never need to stop to let the player get in a single stab or arrow.
Tumblr media
Godlion Dancer, Firstborn of the Gods
The murdered soul of Godwyn, son of Godfrey and brother to Godrick, Godrranq's lover. This guy has God written all over him. He also has 30 legs so he's good at dancing.
Tumblr media
Birdmaster Tonguay, Slayer of Literally Everyone
Ever wonder who tied all those knives to all the bird feet? Ever wonder why there are so few people in the Lands Between? Meet Tonguay, murderer of all those people at the claws of his bird-knives.
Tumblr media
Ribbitus, Priestess of the Frog Cult
Elden Ring's new gimmick boss can only be defeated by jumping from platform to tiny platform to poison the flies she likes to eat. She randomly kills the player without warning or opportunity to recover. She sings to you in French the whole time.
Tumblr media
Metalgiir, Armored Gandamu
An occult robot constructed by Robot-Master Iji Jr., Metalgiir demands an entirely different kind of gameplay that doesn't fit or scale to anything else in the game, yet is not optional so you have to learn to beat him or you get nothing.
Tumblr media
Ouchlord Vivaldi
Just... Don't fight this guy, he clearly has enough problems going on.
Tumblr media
Daniel R. Clarksen
Little is known of Daniel Clarksen or why the Tarnished must fight him. He seems like a decent guy, but he probably like turns into a giant demon thing with boobs. These games have lots of those.

something very funny i notice about how everyone else and i write zihark -- regardless of which character he's paired up with aka muarim, naesala, shinon, others, etc -- is that he's not, well, a top. by any means. but he's not entirely a bottom either. in fact i'd say he's closer to an mental top by the end.
in fact he pretty consistently has a fluid trail from obligate pretty boy bottom who's offering a sexual favor in exchange for a tit-for-tat something and through the thick of things, ends up manipulating his way up to control things at the end with just a tiny bit of smugness at catching the other partner off guard, especially if they're the ones usually calling the shots and embarrassed at the sudden vulnerability. their fragile egos can be preserved at the end, he doesn't have to show the reversal off, but as long as they "both" know the truth.... it's a thing. (- it also remains a useful favor to potentially call in the future.)
(i do think he does this... semi intentionally. definitely self-aware of it and enjoys playing the game and likewise messing with people's heads in a very subtle way. )

Thinking of Concepts for my assets,
as the game is top down, I'm probably going to need to look at some games that have similar top down art to mine
The binding of Isaac has a lot of special items, but I'm looking at the little pedestal that these items are on
Tumblr media
I like the idea of them being flashy and brightly colored, so I might look at some pixel art inspiration for the items I hope to add to my game
I like the different designs of all the knights in the game knight squad
Tumblr media
they all have different names and slightly different suits, with different cultured and designs of their plumes, I could have a character selection screen, with these top down knights. when creating the character I will take these knights into inspiration, looking at their armor and plume

Every Day We Fight: Explore Early Access Now
Tumblr media
Every Day We Fight the innovative tactical strategy game with a heart-pounding time-loop twist, is gearing up for action on Steam Deck and Linux via Windows PC support. Thanks to the creative power of developer Signal Space Lab, the title keeps pushing boundaries Which you can now find on Steam Early Access, GOG, and Humble Store. Every Day We Fight Drops Into Early Access – Turn-Based Tactics with Time Loops, Aliens, and Pure Heart Alright, squad — listen up! There’s a new tactical beast in town, and it's bringing heart, grit, and a whole lot of “holy crap, did that just happen?” energy. Every Day We Fight, from the minds at Signal Space Labs and published by Hooded Horse, has officially landed in early access for Windows PC — and if you're running Linux (like a real rebel), it plays well with Proton out of the box. Time to lock and load.
...we are making an explicit effort to improve stability and performance for the Steam Deck under Proton, with very significant performance gains that should also apply broadly for Linux users (and particularly those users with AMD GPUs)
According to developer Signal Space Lab, a native Linux build is on their radar — but for now, it’s not a top priority. There are still a few technical hurdles to clear before it can happen. That said, they’re open to exploring it in the future, especially as they look at bringing the game to more platforms. The good news? There are plans to ensure Every Day We Fight runs smooth on Linux and Steam Deck through Proton, with solid performance and stability — even for AMD GPU users.
Every Day We Fight - Launch Trailer
youtube
So, what’s the deal with Every Day We Fight? Imagine waking up every morning to a warzone, surrounded by people who were enemies just yesterday. Yet today, you're fighting side by side against a force you don't understand. Aliens. Freaky ones. And worse? You’re stuck in a time loop. You fight, you die, you wake up... and do it all over again. But each loop, you learn. You grow stronger. Smarter. Angrier. And damn, it feels good when it all starts to click. This isn't just another tactics game. It blends real-time exploration with turn-based tactical combat that hits hard, both in strategy and emotionally. You’ll control three unique characters — real people with baggage, not blank-slate soldiers — and guide them through a full-on urban resistance. Every Day We Fight skill trees, gear, emotional arcs, and that gut-wrenching feeling when someone doesn’t make it out of a mission alive.
Here’s what’s packed into the early access build right now:
Three playable characters, each with their own past to uncover and combat roles to master.
A city you can fully explore, with 17 distinct areas, six intense combat zones, and a dozen randomized skirmishes. There are also three handcrafted story battles that’ll push you to the edge.
A gripping narrative spread across three full chapters plus a prologue. Doing so with nearly 60 lore collectibles to piece together the bigger picture.
Six customizable hero weapons, over 50 mods to tweak your loadout. And also some alien tech if you’re brave (or desperate) enough to pick it up.
Ten unique pieces of gear that change the way you fight and survive.
And yeah, this is just the beginning. More content is already on the way, with a full roadmap dropping soon. The devs are in it for the long haul — and they’ve already localized the game into ten languages, from Japanese to Brazilian Portuguese.
The Price:
Here’s the kicker: it releases at $29.99 USD / £24.99 / €29.99 / ¥3,980, but if you grab it before July 24th, you’ll score a 35% launch discount. That’s a steal for a game that’s already showing this much promise. So if you're into games like XCOM, Into the Breach, or Wasteland, but want something fresh with a big heart and brutal time-loop storytelling. Every Day We Fight is a tactical strategy calling your name. Fire it up on Steam Early Access, GOG, or Humble Store through Proton. While you crank up your favorite battle playlist, and prepare to die a few dozen times on your way to saving the world.

We need to stop discussing animated films until we all figure it out somehow. Just saw someone say with their chest that Hoodwinked needs an "HD remake". Behave yourself.
