sypnosis: prompto asks [name] if they could practice kissing to learn for when they have future partners. many feelings get shared in the process. (meant to be viewed as romantic)

prompto and [name] were inseperable.

the two had known eachother for the longest time - even longer than prompto knew noctis, or gladio, or ignis. it was always just prompto and [name], the way it always was and will be.

the two, being best friends and all, had a lot in common. they shared the same taste in music, games and practically everything else that a person could think of.

surprisingly, the men both also had never had a romantic partner before. they'd never felt the romantic touch of another, or even been kissed before. they definitely had a lot in common for that reason too. yet, it was completely normal to [name] and prompto having no romantic partners.

[name] didn't mind not having a partner, as he actually had a crush on someone. of course, that someone was none other than his best friend. prompto.

on the other hand, prompto always moped, and moaned, and whined about not having a partner. he'd always dream about having someone to love, but he was always scared of making a move on anyone. [name] thought it was funny, and quite cute too.

[name] always felt that prompto was oblivious to his feelings, even if he tried to subtly hint at them. prompto never asked [name] out, and [name] always thought it was because prompto was straight. however, [name] was far off. he just didn't know how prompto actually felt himself.

it was a usual friday evening, the two men were hanging out at [name]'s place. they were doing the usual things - playing games on the console, eating snacks and talking about stuff. it was the usual bro things they did. yet, something seemed quite unusual about this night. prompto was sitting there silent, as if he was internally debating something. of course, [name] was curious.

"what're you thinking so much for?" [name] asked as he paused the game that they were playing, placing his console down on the nearby table. "you seem to be in deep thought about something." [name] hummed, narrowing his eyes at his best friend.

prompto sighed before he put his own controller down on the table. he then pouted as he looked over at [name]. [name] couldn't tell where this conversation was headed.

"you know how we've.. never had any partners before right?" prompto asked, still seemingly deep in thought. [name] nodded in response to prompto's question, confused as to where this conversation was headed. "so we've both never been kissed before, right?" prompto continued asking, getting another nod from [name].

[name] didn't hope this conversation was headed where he thought it was. however, he had to admit, he wouldn't really mind.. kissing prompto. it was something he thought about practically all the time because he had such a huge crush on his best friend.

prompto then hummed and he leaned forward, his pout changing from a pout to a smirk. "well, why don't we kiss then?" prompto asked, his voice sort of smug and confident, a side of prompto not many got to see.

suddenly, prompto realised the weight of his words and he backed away. his eyes widened slightly and he looked away from [name], a blush forming on his cheeks as he did so.

"uhm.. as friends of course. so we can practice for our future partners.." prompto chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck. he then looked at [name] and grinned nervously, hoping that his best friend didn't think of this idea as weird or anything.

[name] stared at prompto in shock for a few seconds. his eyes were slightly wide and his mouth was agape. of course prompto had to say something that [name] was thinking about.. they were best friends and they could practically read eachothers minds.

then, [name] let out a breath that he didn't know he was holding. he closed his mouth and he face shrunk back to how it was normally. the whole room felt hot now. [name] couldn't believe that prompto had suggested such a thing, but he wasn't entirely opposed to it.

"sure." [name] nodded and he gulped before speaking once again. "i mean, if it's to practice for our future partners then sure, i don't see why not." [name] continued, his voice practically sounding like a mouse squeaking.

in reality, [name] was really hoping that this was practice for when he had prompto would become an item. yet, he'd never have the guts to admit that to his best friend. ever.

"great." prompto chuckled, still looking at [name] with a grin. he was so happy, ecstatic even that [name] accepted his offer. "i thought you were going to say no or something.." prompto admitted, still chuckling nervously.

"i'd never say no to you, prompto. you're my best friend after all." [name] whispered, leaning in closer to prompto and not leaving that much space between them.

the room was now feeling hot for both men, and their was an air of romance in the room too that none of them were going to mention. this was definitely something more than just friends practising. there was obviously hidden, harboured feelings from both parties.

"that's.. really good to know." prompto gulped, his eyes meeting [name]'s as the two of them leaned forward. they were closer than ever. they had never been this face to face before - it was something entirely new for them.

the two then finally closed the minimal gap that was left between them. their lips met in a kiss, the kiss that was the first for the both of them.

it felt like pure heaven. it felt like the greatest thing that either had experienced throughout their years on earth. it was truly the best feeling ever, and the two never wanted it to end. they wanted to share this feeling with eachother for as long as they could.

[name] then suddenly pushed prompto down onto the couch so he'd lay down on his back. the two were then making out, barely even just kissing at this point. it was like a battle, it was as if this make out session was the last thing that the two men were going to share before dying. it definitely wasn't something just between two friends now. it was something more. it was romantic.

prompto gasped and he pulled away for air, coughing slightly as he did so. he couldn't believe what he had just done with [name], and [name] couldn't fully believe it either.

"wow.." prompto mumbled to himself, breathing in and out heavily to relax himself from what had just happened. he then smiled before he looked up at [name]. "that was amazing.. and definitely worth practising with you. we should do this more often-"

prompto was then cut off by [name] pressing his lips against the blonde's yet again. [name] didn't even hesitate, he just swooped in and kissed prompto again. this was something he had wanted for years, and he wasn't going to waste his opportunity at all.

"i want to do this more.." [name] then muttered against prompto's lips. his eyes were closed as he drank in the taste of his best friend's lips. "but as a couple. not as a friend. i don't want to dance around my feelings any longer."

the blonde couldn't believe what he was hearing. yeah, he had liked [name] but he never thought that [name] liked him back. he had only offered the kissing practice to see if [name] truly did have feelings for him, and everything now confirmed it.

prompto nodded and he pulled away from [name] yet again, holding onto his shoulder. he couldn't believe what had just happened, it was all so quick, but he wasn't complaining. he had wanted this to happen for so long after all.

"of course.. i'd love for us to be a couple." prompto replied, pulling [name] into a hug. "i've always wanted us to be a couple, but i guess i was just too much of a coward to say anything that's why i moaned about being single so much." prompto laughed at himself as he recalled all of the times he probably ended up annoying [name] with his constant whines.

"it's official then. we're boyfriends." [name] hummed as he hugged prompto back, never wanting to let go of his boyfriend. ever. he wanted to stay like this, with prompto in his arms, for as long as he could - which was preferably forever.

prompto hummed in agreement and he nodded. he felt so glad that their unknown feelings had now become known. it was the best feeling in the world, better than all the kissing he and [name] had just done.

"yep, we're boyfriends now." prompto whispered, grinning to himself as he got held by [name]. this was officially the best day ever.

"now then.." [name] cleared his throat, pulling away from the hug slightly. "shall we get back to practising?" [name] smirked.

it was going to be a long night for prompto…

Alrighty! I'm getting some original works written up and edited (they should be up at some point this weekend!), but I also want to do some fandom stuff as well!

I'm considering Sons of Anarchy/Mayans, a first attempt at a Shameless (I'm only on season 4 of the US version and haven't written for the show EVER) piece, Final Fantasy 15, or Naruto.

We were truly blessed that we got three Clive and Jill kisses in Final Fantasy XVI (the first one being during a really beautiful love scene between the two, actually):

And, yes, this second one is in an optional quest you can miss, but who cares? It's such a lovely, romantic scene. (maybe one of the best romance FF scenes ever. I saw someone say that it was pretty much a wedding between Clive and Jill. And you know what? I kind of agree!), And it's so important to the plot? As it's one of the ones that hint that Clive actually probably did live in the end? Really, as many are saying (and for good reason!), the end game side quests aren't really even side quests--they're truly main ones--and I don't know why the game treated them as such. That's kind of a mistake, and I sort of wish they hadn't. Because if you don't do them, you miss SO MUCH IMPORTANT STUFF!

This one's the best one, for sure. This one has the best angle for the shot (they also moreso look like they're making out here when you actually see the scene).

But we also get this lovely forehead touch:

And, you know... aside from Final Fantasy XV adding in some Noctluna lines of dialogue post-launch (like Luna saying too Gentiana something along the lines of "...she longs to be with the one she loves" [about Noctis], though sadly she never got to say that to him in so many words--or him to her--IIRC), I think this is the first "I love yous" in FF. Yuna's "I love you" to Tidus in FFX doesn't completely count, since in the Japanese version she actually says "thank you" instead.

And since in most FFs, we're extremely lucky if we get one kiss between the canon pairing--and even if we do get said kiss, a lot of times they zoom out on the image!--we were so fortunate here! Also, to get two almost kisses between them!

1. How many works do you have on AO3? Nine and counting! I do have the occasional scraps of WIPs stashed in various places, including my singular brain cell, but I usually only start publishing once they are fleshed out enough.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 110,204 words.

3. What fandoms do you write for? Resident Evil and Final Fantasy for the most part. I am working on a draft for a Dune fic as well, but due to my shifted writing time, which is sadly not much presently, I put it on hold in favor of continuing my re fic.

5. Do you respond to comments? Absolutely! I try to do so in a timely fashion, sometimes it does take me a while though, especially when I'm busy doing other things and not checking in on my AO3. I am deeply humbled whenever someone takes some time out of their day to leave some words (or even compliments!) on my fics and it means a lot to me.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? ...is this a bad time to menion I haven't really finished a fic before? x'D I mean, aside from my one shots of course. I have a penchant for working on massive ideas that take forever to write, so yeah. Anyroad though, the answer currently would be a hard tie between either The Price of Perfection (Resident Evil) or Love me whole (Final Fantasy VIII). The first is a glimpse at Wesker's life from birth to death, the second is a songfic based off of Missio's Love me whole, and focuses on a toxic interpretation of Squall and Seifer's ... "relationship".

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Day 2 - Festivities (Final Fantasy XV), easily. It was part of a series for an event or somesuch a couple years ago and focused on more casual themes (which I admittedly usually don't tackle).

8. Do you get hate on fics? Thankfully no.

9. Do you write smut? Big yes to that. I actually love writing intricate smut, which I did for Final Fantasy VIII without much story or context. I should get back on that for Resident Evil and Dune at some point (not everything has to be a novel Nihil, gdi.....) But admittedly, I enjoy when there is some set up around the actual smut just as much. It can be an amazing vehicle to convey character development, power dynamics, show trust or the loss thereof... I am a fan hahah.

10. Do you write crossovers? I did write crossovers in rp, so I think technically I could. But in fanfic, I personally don't really see the need to as I prefer to take the canon lore and expand on it, see how many headcanons I can make work with the actual lore so it fits seamlessly as if it was intended to be there. I do enjoy reading the occasional crossover though!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Not yet, no. I am comfortable writing in English, despite German being my mother language, and honestly I don't think I could properly translate certain things into German without it sounding weird/cringe.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Nope! I could imagine doing that if I ever get my time schedule sorted. And I actually had plans to do a co-written fic with a friend ( looking at you, Bee :p ) but alas, time. I do sometimes help people brainstorm some fic ideas though if that counts^^

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? Almahart (Squall Leonhart & Seifer Almasy), and of course Chrisker (Chris Redfield & Albert Wesker). Something about the blond bad guys and the brunet heroes ig °^^ With Almahart it's the tragedy binding the two together, the fact that Squall became everything Seifer wanted to be (without Squall even really trying/wanting it!), the resentment and rivalry that only barely manages to conceil the real feelings. I like them both as a ship that solves their hardships eventually, and as a toxic ship with Seifer never redeeming himself and not wanting to, either. As for Chrisker, it's a similar streak but darker, more violent, with a lot of psychological warfare included. The hardest thing is to convey Wesker's machinations and how he views the world (according to my interpretation) because I write him as extremely closed off, keeping to himself even with his facial expressions. It's a challenge to portray him correctly and I like it a lot. I love the tangle the both of them are in, how Chris wants to hate Wes so much for all he has done, while simultaneously being unable to let go, even decades later. There is desperation, hatred, blood, passion, everything I love in a ship.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I am absolutely convinced I will finish both my Resident Evil project (which will consist of multiple one shots, The Unquiet Grave, as well as a sidestory to it focusing on HUNK), as well as The Darker the Weather, The Better the Man. What I will say though is that I am also certain it will take a long ass while. Both are huge and complex stories, so building them up and telling them correctly is time consuming, and oftentimes real life gets in the way, sadly. I hope the people who were excited about The Darker the Weather will have patience with me.

16. What are your writing strengths? I want to say my high standards when it comes to fleshing out characters, finding their voice and writing their perspective. It's at least something I get a lot of compliments for, so I seem to be doing something right ^^ Also, I am very thorough when it comes to canon. I try to keep everything in mind and weave my story into the existing lore and world as seamlessly as possible. For The Unquiet Grave I took a whole day to collect all possible information about the entire Resident Evil Timeline (it spans from 1909 to 2037), which I regularly consult while I am writing to make sure I have events lined up properly.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I definitely question myself too much. As in, if the quality I am providing is good enough; if the characters are OOC, things like that. It's my perfectionism getting in the way of things. Generally I have a bad habit on putting too much unneccessary pressure on myself (publish within a certain time, write a certain amount of words, etc.) - silly, really.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Ohhh yeah I love that! I don't use this enough and definitely should. (needless to say but it should not be too much untranslated content of course, and made available for the readers in some way so they know what is being said)

19. First fandom you wrote for? I believe my very first fic was Ville Valo x Lauri Ylönen, don't hit me for writing smut about real life people please xD I was young! Aside from that, Final Fantasy VIII or Angel Sanctuary, not sure anymore (I am rather certain it was FFVIII though because I have always been obsessed with it)

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?  Urgh this is hard.... Given how much my writing has improved and how I learned to apply certain tools (like drafting properly etc), I'd have to say The Unquiet Grave. Since I am not writing in my first language, the time I practised between this and The Darker the Weather definitely had a positive impact.
