Your Muse’s Backstory | asked by @redheadarcher

2. Has their living situation changed from when they were born?

It has! Alex was born in Lima, Peru, where she stayed until she was a few years old. Her family moved to the states shortly after and she lived in the south until she started her schooling with Gabe at 11. She (and her twin) moved to live at the school on property (North/midwest) until she graduated at 17/18 and moved back home until she moved to New York. (Main verse: She eventually moved from NYC to Washington State, south of Seattle and has since lived there.)

10. What was the hardest lesson they had to learn as they got older?

To let go of her ego. It was the thing that got in the way of her recovering her siblingship with her twin, and she still hasn’t spoken to him yet to make up with him. (MV: they have since made up but it’s still a bit rocky/needs work.)

I’m gonna cheat and toss in her learning to be smarter about the choices she makes when it affects others - especially when she got pregnant with Jacob, she had to start thinking for him and his safety especially. Trust was a big one she had to learn best.

nagustuhan ko hindi lamang dahil ang ben & ben at si moira ang kumanta, ngunit ang lyrics ay parang nagsasalita para sa nararamdaman ko sa iyo noong mga panahong 'yun.

Where this blog goes next

For a really long time, I've been wanting to create a fanmade X-Men team composed of exclusively queer mutants- and now, I figured since I already have this blog, why not let tumblr decide?

So what I've done, is created 7 spots on the team, based on each characters power and skill set, and grouped a bunch of characters together for a singular poll for each spot. Before the polls go out, I'm going to make a little propaganda post for each person in the group, to make sure everybody knows who is who, and why they should vote for them!

This is only including people who are out as queer in universe, so even though Gabby has been implied to be queer, and Kate has been confirmed to be bi, neither of them are really "out" in their respective universes yet, so they couldn't really be on the team yet.

I may be too attached to lima jeys gabe icons to change it but I will be still keeping the aiden icons for any times Gabe needs to use a human disguise which unfortunately isn't common because he is gabriel, he can just show himself casually when delivering messages , in fact that adds to the effect more of fearing heaven and all. He likes to strike fear into humans when given the opportunity lol

But yah maybe if he had to do anything casual that involved not freaking out people he may need a human disguise

LT band news! Guitarist Isaac posted a pic of himself with the other guitarist and bassist, plus LTHQ team member Jessie! Things are happening…idk what things, but THINGS! We know tour shows aren’t for a long while now so what might they be rehearsing or meeting for? Hopes are up that it could be to do promo for a single!! But really whatever it is would be exciting as hell. The shopping list for the recipe Louis will be following for his video is out and it does not look like it’ll be challenging- it’s a fish finger sandwich! I’m a little confused by the addition of waffles (not to mention sugar) in the ingredient list but overall how hard can it be right? I guess we’ll find out. And a fan who met Louis the other day says she had him write HOME for a tattoo and “told him that the song is extremely important for the whole lgbtq+ community” and that he “smiled and said thank you and bless you darling,” and we got more video from yesterday of him out by the studio; he was wearing the skull/ laurel/ rose/ triangle ‘new era’ cap again, nice, and how appropriate for the exciting LT2 era things he is cooking up (not the fish fingers, the other stuff.)

The much hyped Our Song behind the scenes video is finally here! We see the part where Niall pretends to be afraid of the dog that was hired to bark at him, but as we were told, the dog does not bark and was therefore fired; maybe the poor dog was just starstruck, leave her alone! Plus Niall and Anne are cute and look to be having fun, of course. And last night Niall was papped in Hollywood, looking good in all black with gucci loafers, oh lala.

Behind the scenes videos hype continues, with one for Lima’s NFT as well- it opens with a voiceover saying “stop being scared of who you are, you’re not negative you’re vulnerable” and other uplifting soundbites, then shows Liam drawing and walking in a beautiful forested glade, but mostly in his house he recently moved out of- Winston the dog has a sleeping-in-the-background cameo- and he and the other collaborators (musician Zedd and animator Gabe Damast) talk about how they worked out the concepts over zoom and tell us about Liam’s concept for the piece. They also talk about (and show one of) the physical objects and fancy packaging for it that they’ve made to sell along with the NFT, presumably because simply buying bragging rights of ownership of an intangible digital item isn’t actually terribly satisfying, so they need to provide some actual thing. Besides the dinner in Vegas that the buyers will be invited to join them at that is; we also learn more about that and oh my GOD wtf… uh I mean what they said is that it will take place in a literal glass box in the middle of the resort I honestly didn’t know they could make it sound MORE UNPLEASANT to me holy crap, not even to hug Liam would I do that. Liam also did a live where he tells us some stuff we already knew about Louis and Harry; about Louis he said that he’s working on music right now and “god he’s got long hair now doesn’t he”, I KNOW RIGHT, and about Harry that “he looks great in his policeman uniform,” Liam you WOULD like that, and “name a man who can pull off every look.”

Harry followed musician Pauli the PSM on insta. And as he’s often used his follows to tell us about people he is working with/ preparing something with one always wonders… For example as his scheduled shows for this year draw ever nearer with no rescheduling announcement yet, we’re all becoming impatient to know if he’s planning to play any of them this year. And if so, I know I wouldn’t be at all surprised if brand new mom Sarah Jones chose to sit a few out, so today’s follow of a British drummer… well, <eyeballs emoji>, right?! Honestly though it could be for any reason, that’s just wild speculation.

MINE - Next to Normal

“I’ll miss you,” Blaine whispers in Kurt’s ear.

“I’ll miss you too,” Kurt says.

“We’ve never been this far apart.”

“Blaine, we survived four months. Surely, we can survive being in different states.”

Blaine tenses up for a second, but before Kurt can apologise, Blaine nods and hugs him even harder.

“You’re my best friend.”

“And you are mine.”

Eventually he lets go so that Kurt can turn to his dad.“You ready, kiddo?” his dad has Kurt’s suitcase in hand. He’s flying to New York with him, Rachel and the Berrys.

Kurt nods.

Blaine’s lying on Kurt’s bed, as usual. It’s weird how easy it is to be friends again. Sometimes it feels like those four months never happened. The only difference is that they’re in New York now. Kurt still can’t fully believe that he’s here. He’s living in a shitty loft in Bushwick with Rachel, but it’s New York. They both got accepted by NYADA and it’s the dream.

Mercedes is in LA. Blaine is still in Lima. He decided to do a gap year, so he hasn’t started a degree yet. He still doesn’t know what he wants to do. Kurt tries to help him out, but it’s also clear that Blaine still doesn’t want Kurt to do so.

Blaine’s visiting now for the holidays. Kurt and Rachel opted to stay in the city, since it’s expensive to fly back, so Blaine asked if he could come over. He’s back in Kurt’s life. He shows up at Friday Night Dinners, even when Kurt’s in New York. He’s gone to the airport to send Kurt and his dad off.

And yeah, Kurt should be happy about that. A part of him is always happy to see Blaine. He looks at Blaine, who’s chilling on his bed, listening to the new musical Next to Normal and it makes Kurt’s heart burst with joy, but also with fear.

To be honest, Kurt’s never really gotten over the pain that Blaine caused. But that’s all in the past now. Their friendship is solid again, but it’s also changed. Sometimes it feels hard to talk to Blaine, since it ends with tension. That’s another reason why Kurt’s so happy that Blaine’s here in New York. It’s always easier to talk face-to-face.

“This song is great,” Blaine says. He’s referring to Aftershocks. “This entire musical is great! Gabe Goodman is one of the best roles on Broadway!”

Kurt just nods. He doesn’t want Blaine to know that Kurt hates this song. Not because it’s bad, but because it stings. Kurt and Blaine are talking again, but their fight left a dent, or a scar if you will, on their friendship.

“I can’t believe we’re seeing this,” Blaine says happily. He doesn’t seem to be bothered. “Man, remember Spelling Bee, Wicked and Rent? That’s five years ago.”

“You made your Broadway debut,” Kurt smiles at the memory.

Blaine laughs. “Yeah. My mom hated it!”

Kurt’s smile widens. Maybe he’s being silly. Blaine is obviously at ease here and Kurt doesn’t want to ruin their trip. Blaine’s reminiscing and maybe this can become a sort of tradition. Blaine loves musicals and he mentioned Gabe being a great role.

“You know, you’d make a good Gabe.”

Blaine sits up. “Yeah?”

“I know you’re taking a gap year-”

Blaine falls back with a groan. “Not this again, Kurt. I like musicals, that’s true, but I’m not sure if I want to be in one! I want to see them. With you.”

“Right.”

“Hey, I know I’m the one who’s been on Broadway,” Blaine says, “But you’re the one who’s going to be on Broadway and I’m fine with being a bystander to your success.”

Blaine’s incredibly ungraceful on the ice. He’s sliding across the rink and his arms are waving in every possible direction. It makes Kurt laugh incredibly loud.

“Kurt, catch me!” Blaine zips towards him with his arms outstretched.

The impact isn’t as terrible. Blaine crashes into Kurt and the two of are laughing. Blaine has his arms around Kurt and his head against his chest. He’s shaking with laughter.

“I never thought you could be terrible at something,” Kurt says.

“And as usual, you’re perfect,” Blaine says quietly. Kurt laughs harder. Blaine flatters him.

The two of them stand together like that and Kurt knows there’s nothing between them, but it still feels nice that all the other skaters just zip past them in peace. And even if someone’s throwing them a nasty look, Kurt doesn’t know. It’s so much nicer here.

Back in Lima, Blaine never shied away from physical contact, but Kurt was the one who didn’t want to be touchy in public. Everyone knows that Kurt’s gay and Blaine’s straight, but Blaine’s straightness won’t swerve a homophobe. But here, Blaine’s still pressed against him and it’s safe.

“I can teach you to skate,” Kurt suggest, “Or I can get you a chair for balance.”

“I’ll use you for balance!”

“Fine by me.”

Blaine holds on Kurt’s arm and together they skate. It’s nice. It’s better than the earlier tension. Their renewed friendship has its ups and its downs, which is a departure from how it used to be when it was filled with constant ups, but it’s better than nothing.

Right now, Blaine’s beaming and Kurt can’t help but smile too when he sees how excited his friend is. And afterwards they’re going to get some hot chocolate, or coffee, since Kurt is now a slut for coffee. Then they’ll walk around the city and Kurt can show him around. It’s going to be fine.

Hopefully, things will get better.

Ryder & Iris || Ready, Set... Race! 🏁

Notes: Ryder & Iris compete in a family Mario Kart Christmas tournament @lifeofiris​.

Ryder almost ran inside the Rose living room when he heard his name. As he entered the room, he tapped Gabe’s back in a friendly manner with a comment, “Dude, you’re doin’ well, but you know I’m gonna crush you.” He nudged the guy, and plopped on the floor, a controller in his hands, “This is so exciting guys. Who am I playing against now? I swear…BEST.CHRISTMAS.EVER.” The brunette commented, picking baby Mario as his character. It was just a small family competition, but as weird as it sounded in his head, it brought them together. Nothing better than classic, bonding activities.

Iris perked up "Me, me, me!" Iris replied excitedly to Ryder's question. This was a brilliant idea suggested by her almost nephew-in-law, Mario Kart was one of the few games iris could play and was surprisingly competitive at just like the rest of the Roses. Gabe handed her the controller saying she got this but giving Ryder an encouraging nudge. She picked Toadette as her racer. The tracks were randomised to make it more interesting. "I hope you're ready, Ry."

Ryder bounced with excitement as he watched Iris pick her racer, ready to duel, “I keep on forgetting how pink she is. She’s like…super pink. C’mon, baby Mario is the master here. Although…never mind, no racer shaming here.” he flashed Marley a quick smile as she left the room to spend some time with her mom. He knew he was rambling but that was typical for him, especially when he was excited, “I honestly can’t believe this is happening. Okay, okay. Here we go!”

Iris "Yeah but she's also super cute." Toadette was the racer she picked whenever she played, paired with racing in what Iris considered her lucky kart. She promised they'd play nicely, that was one of the ground rules laid out as they were setting up. Iris leant forward and gripped the controls, she was focusing. "Was that your best Mario impression?" she teased.

Ryder “Hey, how about a chocolate Mario collection?! Just imagine a chocolate Toadette; she could be SO AMAZING. Woah, people may actually buy tons of these.” Ryder widened his eyes when this specific idea had just popped into his mind. Okay, he really needed to focus, “No distractions.” He took a deep breath, tilting his head to the side when he heard Iris’ comment, “Impressions ain’t my thing. I’m more of a gamer.” The brunette grinned, looking back at the screen.

Iris "Genius, Ryder, genius. You'd probably be the one to buy tons of it but that also means you'd have to eat Baby Mario," she pointed out with a shrug, "who by the way does actually kind of look like you, I see it." No distractions, right. She also needed to focus. Somehow Iris wasn't off to a good start, in 7th but she'll blame the track. "Com'on powerups! I need a good one. Umm sorry but how are you in third already?" Clearly she'd underestimated Ryder's skills.

Ryder “Well, if it’s a white chocolate baby Mario then you know I’d eat the hell out of it.” Ryder stated philosophically, he knew Iris liked creative ideas so he thought he’d share one of his. Ryder barely blinked when he focused on the screen, squeezing his controller as much as he could, “Suck it, Koopa Troopa, here I come!” He screamed as he moved past one of the racers, “What?” He asked, he was so into the game that he barely noticed Iris’ question, “Wait and see, it’s just the beginning.” He grinned when he collected another coin.

Iris "I mean seriously, we've been playing for like two minutes." Iris drove into a powerup box "Com'on, com'on, com'on," she said as her powerup was being generated - banana skins. "Haha, take that, Baby Peach!" She exclaimed as she drove past her, firing a banana skin backwards in her direction. They also made for good defence. Then she bumped into Waluigi so was now in 5th place and climbing up the leaderboard but with Waluigi on her tail. Iris whined, "Go away, I wanna catch up to baby Mario."

Ryder “Go away,” Ryder grumbled as he almost bumped into a Yoshi, “Dude, seriously, this is a family battle, I gotta get my powerups; go away and race someone else.” The brunette shuffled closer towards the screen for no particular reason, “Two minutes?!” He asked, suddenly facing a perfect opportunity to drift, it felt like they were playing for at least an hour, “Here we goooo!!!” He screamed excitedly, grabbing another banana skin as he made a perfect move, and drove past the Yoshi that was still racing way too close to him, “Ha, here’s the master, bro! I’m second now!”

Iris: "Hey don't dis, Yoshi!" Gabe shouted, eyes glued to the race and making Iris jump a little because she was so engrossed in the game she forgot people were watching. "Ooh mom's gaining on you, Ry."

Iris "Yeah I am!" Iris chimed in bouncing off of Gabe's comment and firing a heat seeking red shell. "I don't know, I've lost all concept of time," she said, too into it. "Not for long someone just fired a blue shell.... INCOMING!"

Ryder “No offense, my bud, this one was just being super annoying. He was obviously playing dirty. Your Yoshi is way cooler.” Ryder mused with a slight shrug. If he wasn’t playing, he would probably tap Gabe’s shoulder to reassure the younger guy, “Just a lil bit, I’m still way ahead.” Hearing about the shell, Ryder took a deep breath. They were halfway through, he was doing so well, he had to make sure the evil creature wouldn’t ruin his effort, “Okay everybody…RUN!!”

Iris At the almighty noise that came from the other room in reaction to the flying shell, Millie and her daughter popped their heads around the door wondering what was going on. "It's very intense," Breeze told before shouting over the noise to protect Baby Mario because he's only a baby. Gabe rolled his eyes at her. "Oooft that's gotta hurt," Iris cringed squinting to look at the damage it had caused Ryder but when she looked he had seemed to recover quite well because he was still in second place. "How is that possible?! Who threw that shell? I think it was King Boo. Was it King Boo?"

Ryder As the other family members gathered to see how they were doing, Ryder knew he needed to prove that he was the clear winner of this race, “Babe, I’m crushin’ it.” He told Marley, trying to sound as confident as he could. Man, this was going to be intense. As the shell had hit him, Ryder laid down and hit the ground with his back. He was gripping his controller so hard that his fingers started to hurt, “Damage control, damage control.” He kept on repeating, he had no idea how he managed to maintain the second position, “I think so. That was nasty as hell!”

Iris "He's not kidding, he really is," Breeze told Marley whilst Iris sushed her. "Ryder, you live to race another race but dude losen your grip your hands are turning as red as Mario's hat." One lap to go, the final stretch, Iris so close to being in 4th and Ryder somehow maintaing second. Will he steal 1st away from Donkey Kong? That was the question and everyone was eager to see how it'd play out.

Ryder “That’s how I roll, Iris.” Ryder told his opponent he couldn’t help it, he was usually very emotional and excited during such competitions. It was one of the most challenging games he’d ever played because he’d got hit by a blue shell and hadn’t lost his position yet. He used a triple banana powerup, and waited for the final drift, “Here you are…” Ryder mumbled when he noticed the Donkey Kong, “It’s now or never!”

Iris Everyone was cheering Ryder on as he got closer and closer to overtaking Donkey Kong and claiming 1st place in this game that had felt like it'd been going on forever with all its twists and turns. Even Iris was cheering for him now, accepting her place in the rankings.

Ryder took a deep breath as he was approaching the final part of their race, luckily for him, he managed to nail the last drift and after a few seconds, he was leading, “He comes, he drifts, he wins!” Ryder screamed as baby Mario got to the end of their challenge. He waited for a moment until Toadette was done as well and raised his hand for a high five as he shuffled closer to Iris, “That was so cool! Thanks!”

Iris Everyone lost it as Ryder drifted at the last possible second to reach 1st. Gabe practically jumped on him and Marley wasn't going to miss her guy's big win. "That was a tough game! The best racer won." Iris beamed at him, returning the high five. "One minute you were here then you were there, I couldn't keep up! You really are good. I had a lot of fun."

Ryder felt the adrenaline still pumping through his veins as he won. He couldn't remember the last time when he was so relaxed and happy. "I told ya, my bro!" He patted Gabe's back and gave Marley a small kiss when she approached him, "Hellz yeah! This is what life's all about!" He added with a chuckle and passed his controller to Gabe, "Okay, it's Gabe versus Breeze now. Prepare for a clash of the titans. You got this, dude." He reassured and fist-bumped his buddy before moving to the side to hug Marley for a bit. "I'm gonna get a bit of hot chocolate; anyone wants some?" Ryder asked.

Iris: had meant it when she said she'd had a lot of fun. This is why she loved Christmas so much, being around family and that included Ryder. They didn't usually compete in a family game of Mario Kart but maybe that could become an annual tradition now. Ryder was good sport. "Oooh this I have to see. But first hot chocolate. Don't start without me. I'll come help you, Ry. Anyone want toppings? Pretty sure I saw a bowl full of Marshmallows and whipped cream and sprinkles in the kitchen."

Ryder knew that hot chocolate was one of the prominent family Christmas beverages, so just as he suspected, everyone was game for it, “I’m gonna need some help.” He replied, Iris was the best person to prepare their snacks. When Ryder entered the kitchen, his phone buzzed. His mother was making sure he was visiting the following day. He quickly responded to her text and started picking up the marshmallows that were already in the kitchen, “Uh, so hot chocolate, and some marshmallows and other stuff…” He mumbled distracted, he was happy to see his mom and his sister, but somehow he feared confronting his dad again.

Iris "See you're skilled at Mario Kart, this is where my skills shine." Iris got to work on making the hot chocolates. She glanced at Ryder when his phone buzzed and frowned when his demeanour changed. She wondered what the text had said. It would be a shame to bring the mood down now. "Everything okay?" She asked, trying not to pry.

Ryder “Hey, you’re pretty skilled too, you were a great opponent. You’re a cool aunt, so of course, you didn’t disappoint.” Ryder chuckled. “Yeah, it’s just my mom.” He shrugged, “I’m seeing my family tomorrow. Don’t get me wrong, I love them, my sister is one of my best friends in the world and I cannot imagine my life without her, but me and my dad…well, this is complicated.” He explained. Somehow this Christmas with Marley’s family was the best one he’s had in years.

Iris "Thank you, I've been practicing. And I can't disappoint-" she added with a smile, "it's Christmas."

Iris thought it was sweet how much Ryder cared for his mom and sister and she knew that deep down he probably cared for his father too but she also understood the complications that came with families. Every family was different. "It'll mean a lot to your mom that you're there. Show up for her. Families can be a complicated thing, Marley knows it too, but remember there will always be room for you in ours.” 

Ryder nodded, his eyes stuck on the floor for a moment, “Yeah, this is one of the best Christmases I’ve ever had.” He confessed while putting some sweets into a bowl with a slight smile, “Thank you. I think you’re right, I love them and I know they wanna see me, so I gotta go and just be there for them.” Ryder closed his eyes for a moment, he shouldn’t have brought the mood down. Finally, he cleared his throat, “So, ready to watch another epic game? My money’s on Gabe.”

HEADCANONS

When Gabriel was younger, he was into a lot of sporting activities, and took part in many different sports clubs and classes when growing up, but when High School hit, Gabriel took a step back from sporting events, so he could focus on something that he wanted to do in the future. He could never see himself being an athlete, but he was a pretty bright child, so academically he excelled in classes such as Math and Science.

Gabe had a close relationship with both of his moms, even if one of them is a 'step mom', he treats her with the same respect and love, and he tries to go back to his home state to see them as much as he can, but he also loves having his own independence, especially since when he was in High School, he would sneak out often to go and hang with friends, and just goof off. There were times when he would sneak off to drink alcohol, and whatnot, but he didn't do it too often, mainly because of one of his mom's being in the police force. Now that he goes to University in a different state, he feels like he doesn't have to 'sneak' out whenever he wants to, because he's his own person and responsibility now.

Gabe has big ambitions with his future career, so he tries to focus a lot on his studies when he's at University, because he wants to gain knowledge about the computer science world. He knows that there can be a lot of money in that area if he goes the right way about it, so he tires his best to study as much as he can, so not to let himself down, or his family, since he likes to make his family proud of his achievements.

The countless times Gabe has manage to break bones is uncountable by now, to say that Gabe is clumsy is just an understatement. Though, he can't help his clumsiness, he does try his best to not get himself hurt. Now that he's older, he seems to be a little less clumsy than when he was a child, and has less incidences of getting himself injured. Many were due to the volume of sporting activities he would take part in, so since ditching those activities, there has been less broken bones.

CONNECTIONS

BREEZE BERRY-ROSE (Mother): Gabe has always had a close relationship with Breeze, and has always been open and honest with her about things. Although being in a new city means that he doesn't get to spend as much time with her, he still manages to stay in contact, and fly's home whenever he has a chance to. IRIS ROSE-BERRY (Step Mom): Although not blood related, Gabe treats her just like he treats Breeze, with warmth, love and care. He doesn't care that she wasn't there for the start, the most important thing was that she was there for him whenever he needed someone to be there for him, and that's what counted. Julian Lang (Ex-Boyfriend): Julian was Gabe's first love, they had met in High School, when Gabe was 15, and they dated right up until High School ended, but unfortunately due to different universities and other factors, they parted ways, and that called an end to their little love story. Gabe still thinks about Julian every now and again, and wonders if they would ever get a chance to be together again.

What are you doing for the holidays?

We're at home in Lima right now with the family for a festive reunion (Gabe says hi 👋🏻) about to start our EPIC game of Mario Kart. All of us playing together on one screen and then individual vs. races... this should be fun. Maybe we'll have a rematch New Year's Eve.
