I'm not super active in the Stranger Things fandom anymore (not that I ever wrote) but I think about the "Steve is a cop" plotline a lot because you can't tell me he wouldn't be the George Crabtree to Hopper's maybe-more-chill Brackenreid.

I feel like Steve would be just as hardworking and awesome at his job- not to mention as loyal as- George. I like it.

Also, that scene where Brackenreid gives George a glass of whiskey? Obviously Steve would know not to chug it, but I could see them sharing a drink.

murdoch : the full tim hortons. murdoch would call miles gilbert horton by his christian name if he could. but also deep down i think he desires a simpler time where he can say timmy’s

henry : look me in the eye and tell me this man ISNT saying timmies. george objects to this spelling bc it implies that the products themselves are called timmies (singular timmy) like at least timmy’s keeps that meaning that the restaurant belonged to tim horton. henry points out that it’s spelled tim hortons w/o an apostrophe so timmies should technically be considered the correct spelling and george informs him that they only got rid of the apostrophe bc of a language law in québec and henry is like why do you care you don’t even call it that and george is like it’s the principle of things and by the time henry’s asking about his opinion on the name timbits the person at the drive thru window is sick of them bc their coffee’s getting cold

"The Final Curtain" is the most epsiode of Murdoch Mysteries and I need no essay because it speaks for itself.

The meta comments and acknowledment of the audience and writers but also just acting and storytelling in general, George fully embracing they are all facing the "audience" and everyone else following stage law of facing the audience always and never turning your back on them unless in movement even though they aren't actors and thus have no reason to do it except it's funny, Watts' delivery on every single line but especially his little "no." I cant explain how you literally need to hear how he says it, Julia criticizing the love interest having zero depth but getting fully invested in the real life drama also she isnt "rich rich" also Watts asking her to talk to a suspect about gems or something to help him hashtag relate to them only to immediately butt in and outright ask the question before they can fully chat (I miss Ruby btw), Murdoch being the most Older Brother to Watts ever and I'm so sad we never see this level of calm/friendship between them more the way they casually move around one another and play off each others bits especially near the end are chefs kiss, Thomas bragging about John the whole time and literally nothing else he literally doesn't even insult the others expect once when he says John carried the play he just really loves and supports his son wholeheartedly, Margaret getting hit on and being more flattered by the act of getting hit on than the actual man himself, the critic applauding George's story for being actually good (he's correct) and dropping a baller line about writers who focus too much on surprise and drama rather than telling a good story, I can't even tell you why the killer and how they committed is kinda funny because it's a spoiler but also it really is morbidly hilarious for literally just a split second pun they don't even fully voice which makes it funnier because you have to think it in your own head like a child giggling behind the teachers back along with the Brax boys.

Just. This epsiode. It really has it all.

I just watched episode seven and, not to quote Brax or anything, but what the bloody hell did I watch?!?

It was a great episode, and I find it amazing how this season has shown sides to women in the show we hadn't seen before (Violet and Louise Cherry so far). I found their bonding with Watts awesome in this episode- Louise and Watts are totally the lesbian gay solidarity friendship of the show (yes I know Louise has been in straight relationships but it's the 1900s whaddya expect?)

Personally I think they would've escaped the hornet room way faster had Watts been there, but I'm also happy he wasn't since then he was able to rescue them! Which, what's with Watts saving everyone's sorry asses over and over? Pop off you genius man, you.

Not to quote my dad or anything but I'm watching the show with him and he said he feels like Ralph becomes another Gillies/Pearce. Which... it's kind of becoming that way. I also appreciated George's jab about how many times they've resurrected Gillies.

The way Louise figures out Watts wasn't mourning over "Jacqueline", he was mourning over Jack was a cool concept too.

And Julia's "when we get out of here I'm going to wring your tiny neck like a chicken" was frickin awesome too imo-

i talk about my beloved semi-crackship narvin/brax constantly, and i adore brax/narvin/romana more than words can say, but lets be real, the central thing here is narvin/romana and i appreciate that. as far as i'm concerned their relationship is kind of the through-line of the show. it has to be them, sexually or otherwise.

14. Is there a character or ship you were so sure you would never write/draw but now you've changed your mind?

i saw some brax/narvin art and thought it was silly, just the default fandom urge to produce yaoi in any way possible. and then brax got cheekier and i found Other Brax Content in the bennys and really warmed up to the idea of narvin getting teased and now… now i am the one who is silly 😔

oh god. i think it must have been 2013? i was defintely about that age. it must have been after december 2012. our year 8 music teacher couldn't be arsed to teach one day so he put on the first half of les mis 2012, and george blagden's commitment to being accurate to the book (and as such playing grantaire as gay) fucked me up. i didn't know what was wrong with grantaire, I just knew that whatever was wrong with him was the same thing that was wrong with me. so i go online, pirate the rest of the film, do a lot of googling, and find out that academics and tumblrinas both agree that grantaire is gay as fuck. and those tumblrinas had bootlegs of other musicals too! so in one fell swoop i realise i'm a lesbian, get into musical theatre, and join fucking tumblr dot gov. the woke got me lads 😔

someone is killed in a giant microwave - YEAH season 12 episode 1 murdoch mystery mansion. the potato cooking room was at first a hypothetical presented in an earlier season that murdoch made a reality during the designing of his house ! someone then used the room to kill someone inside uh oh

sigmund freud's gaydar - YEAH season 15 episode 12 murdoch on the couch. sigmund freud, who's at the station house because of a threat to his life, reads henry's letter addressed to george and believes it to be a letter for a lover. when henry brings this up to brax and watts later, they don't contest this ! (in fact claiming this was the only thing he was right about) was going to make a joke about how he was like i know what you are but he actually seemed like genuine and objective with it honestly what the hell was up with that.

re-enactment of the last supper with dead bodies - YEAH season 9 episode 4 barenaked ladies. to make a poetic point about guilt and betrayal, someone kills some people who they think have wronged someone and electroplates them in the poses of various figures from the last supper.

one of the main characters kills jack the ripper - YEAH season 2 episode 2 snakes and ladders. a serial killer on the loose suspected to be jack the ripper is in toronto, and in a fight with him in the morgue, julia kills him. she is understandably shaken by this and the end of the episode she dances with murdoch because she’d like to be held <3

sherlock holmes meets arthur conan doyle. yeah they meet each other - YEAH season 6 episode 4 a study in sherlock. due to childhood trauma, there's a guy in toronto living as sherlock holmes :)) murdoch is frustrated that he won't believe that sherlock holmes isn't real, so to convince him, he invites arthur conan doyle, who happens to be visiting toronto, over.

reincarnation is real - YEAH season 6 episode 11 lovers in a murderous time. cant believe yall forgot this one this was one of my fav episodes the first time i watched s06 but anyways. two people bear a striking resemblance to two doomed lovers from many years ago, and the woman has visions and dreams of memories of details she can't possibly know ! they're reincarnated lovers. whoah

pig flies - YEAH season 6 episode 1 murdoch air. james pendrick, flying his test craft in the race for the world's first controlled air craft, tested a harness by using a dead pig as a passenger. was reminded of this one because in a s15 episode the brackenreids were laughing abt something and margaret said "when pigs fly!" and brax was like "i've seen that happen actually" <3

murdoch invents uber - NAH. murdoch does not invent uber. the closest we get to uber is not murdoch's invention but george and henry with henry's cab :) this lie kind of falls apart when you consider that murdoch's inventions are almost always technological innovations, while uber is. a business. and murdoch doesn't even like cars.

murdoch dies in a tub but only temporarily - YEAH season 5 episode 10 staircase to heaven. murdoch investigates a death within a club (one member being emily) who compete for a chance to "die" to see what the afterlife looks like, dropping them as close to death as possible and then reviving them, and murdoch tries it out yeah 👍

murdoch beats up santa claus - YEAH season 17 episode 9 the christmas list. in possibly his most out of character episode, murdoch suspects department store santa claus of theft and tries to arrest him in front of the children, then when santa resists, murdoch beats the shit out of him

being uncoordinated is actually Normal. they don't tell you this. i spilled water on a remote while thinking about john lennon a couple seconds ago. when i was re-reading happy endings i encountered jason in the book, and proceeded to walk into a wall. after reading hiding places i fell off my bed thinking about mostly bev. i walked into my Sink once thinking about george harrison. thinking about benny i walked into my fucking bedpost, got stuck in the tiny space between bedpost and wall, and could not get out. i have tripped and fallen while thinking about brax, multiple times, and on one occasion while thinking about bennybrax i walked headfirst into a Door and spun and fell against that very door, my back to it. i walk into railings and tables All The Time thinking about iris... i fell flat on my back once due to no discernable reason except Iris Thoughts + trying to lean backwards (?) . this is normal i am Normal i am Fine.
