Big big big BIG fan of scrapbooking. Kind of went digital on my diary for a lil bit, but I want to go back to physical journaling & scrapbooking. Like an album on steroids. My mom’s such an album person and I want to be the journal derivative of that. Absolutely want to get into commonplacing more too. Esp w all the things I have planned this yr I think they’re def worthy of scrapbooking
#Just need to survive this grinding phase but I also need to learn how to have a heavy study / workload and still be able to nourish#Whimsical hobbies#But I truly crave creating something w my hands#I love the ppl on here so much bc they’re so artsy and inspire me to be more artsy too!#I don’t wanna be so nuts and bolts like ur typical stem crowd#I want to create something w my hands#I would say I’ve been good at that but what’s coming is going to need my time management skills on steroids

obviously i haven't been on character.ai in a billion years but the fact that i've ever used it at all makes me worried that people have made chatbots of henry that horribly mischaracterize him
#melonposting#you can tell people do this when they don't want to put effort into learning how to rp#because some people just fundamentally don't understand how these characters work#of course a lot of the mischaracterization comes from the fact that you're having an ai do this at all instead of a person#but to make a bot on a site like this you can put in a description for the character#so you know a lot of the stuff that's just Patently Incorrect stems from people describing a character without nuance#and that's part of why these chatbots are inherently flawed. they only have so much character space for descriptions#so you aren't able to make anything really nuanced even if you wanted to#you have to hand the ai a bare-bones and often flanderized summation of the character#and then it pumps out vaguely character-flavored slop#when i did use it - and i'll admit to having used it - i would try my best to make my descriptions pithy and meaningful#but there's so much the technology can do. especially with the way it's set up#among other things no chatbot can really understand the relationships and memories its character is meant to have#unless you specifically describe those as being part of the character#while alternately... if you take someone like me who puts a lot of effort into understanding such characters thoroughly...#if i were rping as that character i would have a nuanced understanding of their relationships and memories and everything else#as well as their personality (which is more easily describable to an ai)#because it's those thing that make up the character! it's their way of experiencing them that makes them interesting to me!!#it inherently comes with my understanding of the character#there are a billion reasons to dislike things like character.ai#but thinking about it from the perspective of someone who is dedicated to understanding characters in a meaningful way...#not in a way that can be distilled into a handful of epithets and adjectives...#that just pisses me off :'D#considering how much i've done lately to explore henry as a person i find the idea of a henry character.ai chatbot kind of revolting

personally i'd say it's more how they went about it that shows the misogyny. y'know, referring to Silverstream expressing her "love prevails" ideals as "manipulative" when it objectively was not.
i don't think it says anything about someone to say "i think this canonical partner for a character is good for them, so i ship them with this character instead" (no one calls Squirreldaisy shippers misandrists for a reason lol), but saying "this female character is manipulative for saying her love for her boyfriend will win over any obstacle" is very much telling.
yeah absolutely. silverstream loved greystripe a lot and it was a genuine and innocent love for him. i don't think she had any personal issues with firestar, it was just the fact that he was the leader of a rival clan and she also holds a lot of love for her own clan
addressing your second part though since i do think both things have their own important factors: normally it means nothing (and i wouldn't bring it up if it wasn't issue), but anon was being overtly aggressive about not just one female love interest, but both of them, and that's what makes it misogynistic. fandom history has a lot of "these female characters get in the way of my mlm ship so i hate them," which is why i used sakura from naruto as an example -mod ashensky
#not a confession#but yeah i def agree with you#there was a lot of harsh language and i do believe it stemmed from 'women get in the way of my gay ship'#def would recommend looking into this topic though. it has a very deep history and is v interesting to learn about#ive seen it first hand since ive been on tumblr since 2012 so i tend to recognize those kinds of patterns and behaviors#srry for rambling i just got off from a 14hr shift so my thoughts are all over the place#wc fans be normal abt the female cast. please.

found out I got a 95 on my linear algebra exam today, genuinely thought I was gonna get around a 70 and an 80 if I was lucky 🧍♂️ I fr BSed my way through the entire thing (started doing the notes for the entire unit the morning of the exam bc I’m insane and I want to see if my body can take it (Markiplier reference) anyway never doing that again 💀 (I in fact, probably will be doing that again))
#life update#linear algebra#why is that a tag#I’m in a toxic relationship with math#linear algebra is one of those classes that makes me feel like im too dumb to be a stem major#physics too when I took it in high school I only got a 2 on my AP exam#granted my teacher did flipped classroom and that teaching style so did not work for me I’m a hands on girly#i literally only learn through fuck around and find out aka doing it wrong in every way possible until I get it right#anyway I managed to get an A in modern mechanics freshmen year of college which is a miracle imo#bc physics is hard and at that time I was still classified as a BFA major so none of the study sessions and tutoring stuff fit my schedule#bc studio and stuff#anyway cry lore drop

wdym by "see" them? Do u have that thing where u cant see pictures in ur head?? 👀
oh, yeah, I mean I can see vague shapes but there's no color and it's like blurry and tunnel visioned at best
I can "taste" in my head pretty well and hear in my head even better though!
I think it makes me more satisfied with my art, because anything I draw will always be the only way I can see it... I've never struggled with the classic artist pain of it "looking so much better in my head" I'm always like oh hell yeah it looks so cool now that I can see it!!!
I also think it's why I have so much desire to draw. I have a lot of ideas in my head, and I want to make them real! I want to see them too!!!
#I can imagine movements#so when I think in sign language for instance I think in like... the movements that my hands would be making...#rather than what the signs would be looking like reading them...#and when I imagine a scene its like. dialogue..? and movements#so its like he walks in andd then he says this thing#and my brain is extremely spacial#so when thinking up a piece I sort of look around and know where things might be#but it's just me labeling them#I don't really see anything#it's like when imagining an apple I look at the top of the brain space and go 'stem sometimes. brown or green. leaves sometimes.'#not really seeing much idk.#idk people talk about this a lot so I've thought about it a lot#but honestly it doesnt really matter to me...#it does in some sense in the same way any way of learning about myself is nice to do#but I just mean I dont think using it as a point of comparison is really all that helpfup#or considering pros and cons#its just how I think and it is what it is#and it works for me and I've made it work for me#and I love my brain and how it works. besides like the anxiety and whatever stuff#but thats not my brains fault that we're sick#anyways.#asks#edsheerankinnie

I scored a major win on my single-target grocery shopping today, insofar as I managed to buy lots and lots of fresh basil (hadn’t found that in like, the last three stores I looked in, which is reasonable, because it’s December and I live in the northern hemisphere), which I badly needed to make pesto, because my meal plan of the week entailed way more pesto than I had in the freezer, and commercial pesto is inedible. But also it was a major fail because during the shopping phase I blithely thought to myself that all I really needed was the basil—“I have shmancey olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and walnuts at home” I assured myself—and accordingly did not shop for Really Nice Olive Oil And Parmesan Cheese. Which, dear readers, I did not have enough of, on either front. As I discovered! Of course! once I was home and midway into cooking.
#where it really turns into a comedy of errors#is that I was measuring out all my ingredients#calculating that I needed to triple my recipe to match the volume of basil I had on hand#realized I was short on everything#and so I was throwing in the cheaper oil and cheese and nuts to supplement the good stuff#carefully portioning all of those out#and then I got to finally removing the basil stems#and realized I only had 2x the amount of basil for the recipe#so I had 1/3 weight too much oil and nuts and cheese#and I could put some of that back but like#I wasted the good stuff………#a food scale is a curse and a blessing#anyway lesson learned#weight the treated produce FIRST

consuming more sexual art is actually making me more open to the idea of sexual experiences irl. like despite my at-home upbringing i still had it drilled into me by society that sex was bad or whatever. you know. pair that with abusive exes, autism, asexuality, and bcp, it's a recipe for Not Really Being Super Into It All The Time. like i do stuff with my partner but it's few and far between, or i go through phases. but reading more fics and coming across more nsfw art and imagining things for fictional people has like... normalized it? in my head? ive always been sex positive and for sexual liberation and all that stuff but like. not for me. it was just so ingrained in me in such formative years that i was never able to completely get rid of it for myself. and that is still probably the case, i still have to get to a point where i can see if this change in me is actionable (circumstances of my current environment have been preventing me from doing so lol) but compared to the past, i've been more MENTALLY raring to go rather than just purely physically. if that makes sense?? like these fictional guys (all genders) are having such a good time. maybe i could have a good time lmfao
#n//s/f//w don't read if you don't want to know that stuff about me lmao#feel free to do so though idc. i wouldn't be putting it out there if i didn't want people to see it#(not explicit/no details/just discussion#exposure really does lead to acceptance tbhhh if something makes you uncomfy and it's not stemmed from trauma you can probably-#-learn to ease up on it. for your own benefit!#(this applies to anything not just the subject at hand lol)

Champion Progress: Start a STEM Lab in Nagaland Schools!
With time, education becomes more and more a process rather than an old concept. Schools today believe that they are now embracing innovation and technology for their students’ capabilities to endure the current tough world. For Nagaland, an example of stimulating the culture of creativity and critical thinking and future-ready preparedness for the students is the introduction of STEM labs in Nagaland schools. STEM education tries to fill the gap in Nagaland between the theoretical and practical aspects of knowledge acquisition and application by providing avenues for students to practice and innovate. The lab programs allow the students to be exposed to emerging fields such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and 3D printing at their schools in Nagaland, where teachers can implement these solutions in the lab. This customization allows facilitators to transform classrooms into true experiential, hands-on, and fast-paced environments in favor of the students. Read full blog here !
