Ariel in her natural element was a sight to see, moving freely as she meant to. That fiery hair that somehow still retained some bounce when out of the water, fully bloomed as the mermaid swam. It's color a lovely contrast with the water around it.

"Yeah, real amazing."

Varian is more than happy to hold hands with Ariel, listening to her go on excitedly as he acclimated to swimming in the ocean. He was about average when it came to swimming in general, but doing it with things like his boots and such on added extra factors.

Plus, last thing he wanted was to get lost! Or blunder his way into a shark's jaws or something! It was best to stick right next to his friend and guide as he curiously looked around.

"That sounds good. It must be one of the best places in the ocean to be, if it's your favorite. The caves sound interesting too- it all does really."

He laughs lightly, truly they were spoiled for choice when it came to options. Ariel's excitement was Varian's, so her spazzing out only made him grin wider.

"H-hey! Don't tease me...!" Varian laughs shyly, cheeks getting all the rosier as he tried to huff about Ariel's affectionate statement.

When the mermaid begins her seaweed weaving, Varian leans in slightly to watch. Fascinated just by the craftsmanship itself, as well as the magic that would go into it.

"Huh, jewelry is a big thing for humans too. Denotes status and wealth, while also looking nice. It's probably for the best that you don't wear any on the surface; it'd be considered "treasure" up here and treasure can make people get a little crazy...."

Varian notes lightly when Ariel asks him about jewelry. He had to hold back a scoff at the idea of himself getting to wear any. Considering his background.

The closest he'd ever come to any personally was when Varian encountered a Moonstone possessed Cassandra......

"To be honest, I've never really been around much gemstones and the like. Let alone worn them....so I don't really know what a favorite of mine would be. But! B-but one of my favorite metals is something called Bismuth. It's a....it likes to form in these spiraling and square shapes and sometimes it gets this rainbow like sheen to it. Real pretty...."

He explains with a small smile, recalling one of the elements he often used in his alchemy studies. It grows much wider when Ariel finishes her creation, Varian's eyes going big as he gently took hold of the enchanted seaweed necklace. Marveling at it's blue magical glow.

He barely waits for Ariel to finish explaining it's mechanics before he's slipping it on his neck and dives into the water. Fully confident to see what would happen- and it worked! It worked! He floated there under the water's surface, clothes soaking instantly and hair floating about, and he was breathing in normally-

"Oh wow! WOW!"

He laughed- he could even talk and it sounded normal!

I used to be scared of heights as a child, I got over it by reworking my brain. It's not the distance to the ground that's important, it's the distance to your ground. Maybe your ground is the swing your sitting on, the large playground equipment that's taller than you, the top of a slide. Maybe your ground is the top floor of an office, the seat of a commercial flight, the roof of a building.

So now imagine two characters, 1 being afraid of heights and 2 having wings. 1 is freaking out about the thought of being in the air before 2 reassures them, saying it's not the distance of the ground to be scared of. It's the distance to 2. 2 is their new ground. As long as 2 is right there, it's safe.

I was casually watching Link Click (again) with 2 of my friends (you know who you are lmao) and I had Lapse (Vivian's song) stuck in my head. I remembered how she had said "Don't get too deep" and the Cheng Xiaoshi was thinking about diving into a photo when Lu Guang "died"

This morning I was in full contralto/tenor voice and I could actually phonate a low C, so I took the opportunity to record something I've been wanting to do for some time now: a cover of the main Nerevar Rising theme with the Dunmeri lyrics.

It's the way I imagine the Sharmat himself might sing it, surrounded by the mournful echoes of the Heart Chamber.

(All sounds made by my voice, recorded and mixed in Audacity. I wish the sound didn't start clipping on the higher notes and I did try to fix it, but hopefully it's not too noticeable.)

Makeshift vs. Soundwave: what if?

I’m thinking about these two again >:)

Before the war, Makeshift was known as 777. He was a gladiator from Kaon who knew Megatron:

from Transformers: Exiles by Alexander C. Irvine

It’s possible that Makeshift fought Megatron at some point in a non-lethal match.

However, it’s also possible that Makeshift fought Soundwave too.

Imagine…

Soundwave’s in the middle of a match. He has the upper hand, but then his opponent begins to change shape—and not in the usual way.

Before Soundwave knows it, he’s staring at a familiar frame.

He’s staring…at himself.

The crowd loses its mind.

It’s a Shifter. Here. And they’ve just made this a Soundwave vs. Soundwave match.

Meanwhile, the real Soundwave is (a) surprised for the first time in a very long time, and (b) waiting to see what will happen next.

He searches the Shifter’s mind and picks up on a single thought:

“Surprise!”

Soundwave dodges as his opponent lunges at him. It takes some time for him to adapt, but he soon realizes that, although the stranger has his body now, they don’t know how to fight in it yet.

With this in mind, Soundwave makes quick work of subduing the imposter. After all, their fighting style hasn’t changed since the shift, and Soundwave knows his own physical weaknesses better than anyone.

Beneath Soundwave’s blade, the Shifter reverts to their base form and waits.

After a tense moment, Soundwave pulls away and offers his hand.

The Shifter gets to live another day.

And that’s the story of how Makeshift got an invitation to join the Decepticons. /j

(In all seriousness though, it would have been so fun if things happened that way.)

Yandere nerd- who reached for the same book, you were also reaching for “HEY!”

yandere nerd- who scrunches his eyebrows when you both grab the book “hey! I got it first!”

Yandere nerd- who gets frustrated as you fight over it “NUH UH! I GOT IT FIRST!”

Yandere nerd- who blinks for a second before noticing the book no longer in his hand. “Huh? Wha-“ who looks at you walking away with a smirk of victory.

Yandere nerd- who pouts and walks away rolling his eyes “whatever…”

Yandere nerd- who still thinks of the interaction over and over again “can’t believe it! I obviously got the book first ugh.” As he unawarely draws hearts on his notebook almost as if his body did it itself!

Yandere nerd- who can’t sleep because of imagining the interaction over and over again. This time, it’s not about the book.

Yandere nerd- who starts to develop a small interest? Over the book of course! Definitely not how you looked at him!

Yandere nerd- who nearly tripped over his own feet when he saw you sitting next to his seat! “Wha-?”

Yandere nerd- who stares at all your terrible handwriting as you search for the information in your notebook.

Yandere nerd- who’s stared at you searching for your written information “Its pitying at this point.”

Yandere nerd- who looks at you struggle. “Hey, I can lend ya my notes if you want.” With a weird smile? Tried to seem nice, more of a smirk tbh

Yandere nerd- Who nearly hands you his notes but takes them away before you could get your hands on them! Jerk. “i’ll give them to ya, if you give me back the book.”

Yandere nerd- whose smug-ness breaks when you say look at him weirdly. “What book?” “What do you mean ‘what book?’ The book from the library that you grabbed from me!”

Yandere nerd- whose face breaks a bit and his notebook falls from his hand. “Y-you don’t remember me?!” I-i HOW?! I’VE BEEN THINKING OF THAT INTERACTION FOR DAYS! H-HOW CAN YOU FORGET ABOUT IT?!

Yandere nerd- who doesn’t notice how you smirk while picking up his notebook from the ground. “So since you dropped it from your hands, does it mean i can borrow it hehe?”

Yandere nerd- who at that point wasn’t even concerned about the notebook and blankly looks at you with a huff. “Fine go, you’re desperate for it anyways”

Yandere nerd- who you squint at. “Desperate?! I am not! I-i just have trouble finding this topic on my book!” “Rightt, i guess your handwriting is just too ugly.” Teases you with a smirk.

Yandere nerd- who thinks of an idea to get the book back definitely just the book! And not for anything else… “hey, what if I help ya with your studies?” With a mysterious smile. What could he possibly be thinking?…

Soda glances over to his brother right beside him–who was still crying a bit, and smiled.

Hah! That kid continues to surprise me.

I mean, if you think I'd be mad, i sure ain't. ('Cuz I got a secret one too.) But man, is that something!

I gotta bother him about it at some point now... Hehe.

Ponyboy, sat on the floor behind the counter, was still sniffling up a storm. He glanced over, trying to read the paper.

“Whatcha got there, Soda?”

“Hm? Awh, nothin'. Just a new tattoo.” Soda raised a crooked eyebrow and smiled wide.

Ponyboy's eyes went big, and he attempted to snatch the paper, raising up from the floor with a jolt. “They told you?! I thought these papers were questions, not snitches!”

Soda laughed, lifting his arm up over his head, and swiveled around to turn away from Pony, who was still grabbing at him. “They ain't– well... Okay, maybe they are— Ow! ”

Ponyboy had poked Soda with the bright red pen he uses, snickering. “Lemme see it then!”

Soda, who was just happy to see Ponyboy smiling again, reluctantly handed the paper over.

“So where is it?” Soda grinned, teasing Ponyboy as he snatched the pen out of his distracted hands.

Pony scoffed, pushing Soda softly and looking over the paper. The two giggled and stood back together, Soda rubbing his back lightly where it was jabbed.

“...My ankle.” Ponyboy mumbled, looking down and pulling at his pant leg a bit to gesture to which leg it was on.

“Really? Mine's on my hip!” Soda pointed to his side proudly, smiling big and wide.

“...”

“Your WHAT?”

Soda fell into an absolute fit of laughter.
