we know that keefe can feel Sophie's pain. So period days must be an absolute nightmare for him lol. It does not help at all that Sophie would get all moody on her period, so keefe would feel the impact 10xx worse, since he's an emapth. Her emotions + his own emotions + cramps? Yeah no. This is keefe's period, not hers lol.

I can imagine sophie getting hit with a cramp and keefe would dramatically double over and clutch his stomach, groaning "Fosterr!! Get me a heating pad aswell, your period, is my period" and would probably ask Edaline for mallowmelts when she gets them for Sophie. I mean hey. He deserves them too for dealing w the pain and moods that aren't even originally his, right? He and Sophie would be cuddling on the couch, dramatically sobbing into each other's shoulders.

Also, i can totally see them both bickering w eachother, since Sophie's super mad making keefe mad which makes both of them mad. Resulting in a yelling match. Yup. I can continue yapping all day.

Biana would come over at this point to take care of both of them.

Plural Culture is haveing some TONE(S) OF VOICE as a severe triggers.

Hyper Empathic Autistic Plural Culture is hyperfixating on voice and language as a child so you don't get in trouble when you don't understand people's tone. To the point you understood it too well and created a trigger for yourself.

Tone-Triggered- Plural Culture is now having a low empathy Autistic partner system who will accidentally trigger you with their tone and having to delve DEEP into your truama to figure out how you learned tone but most of it just being (re-)traumatizing or emotion baced so you can't help them understand with it

Hyper empathy x Hypo Empathy partner system culture is finding it nearly impossible to take your ps at face value because of truama but also them finding it near impossible to understand you because you are collectively so emotion baced.

Tone-Triggered Plural Culture is DESPERATELY WISHING that you could just "get over" your tone truama, but not being able to, then wishing the autism community didn't harp so fully on wanting "nerotypicals" (I put Nerotypicals in "" bc istg the whole Autistic community forgets hyper emapth autistics exist, or that there are litterally other disorders that understand tone) to just "take them at their word" but rather for people to figure out a logical way to explain tone and it's importance because NO MATTER HOW LOW YOUR EMPATHY YOU STILL CONVAY ANGER AND IT CAN LITERALLY SEND PEOPLE INTO FULL BLOWN INTERNAL MELTDOWNS AND FLASHBACKS - but everyone is so FULLY CONVINCED that they just need to "get rid of tone" but that's not how it fucking works-

i'm rereading legacy right now and i'm at the part where oralie is helping sophie with her enhancing, and i realized something. sophie says that her her enhancing is extra strong with telepaths and empaths and that got me thinking. yes keefe and fitz are an empath and a telepath respectfully, but who is also a empath? oralie. and shes sophie's mother. so what if sophie is subconsciously reacting to her parents abilities, like enhancing them more powerfully than other abilities. and we know that empaths and telepaths are more compatible with each other, so what if the black swan got two people with those abilities to have a base for an already strong child. also/or oralie says that she knew that enhancing had to rely on the same inner strength as empathy, and that it explains so much. forkman said that her enhancing was a natural ability that she was gonna get ,so maybe that's where she got her enhancing from, that inner strength that oralie mentioned. and because her mothers and empath, and her enhancing comes from the same inner strength emapths use, that could be why lord cassius said that her telepathy reminded her of an empath. she could be subconsciously using the inner strength the same way an empath uses it, without having that ability. also sophie thought that her parents ability could affect her and maybe she's right idk cuz oraile is an empath so maybe i'm on the right track maybe not.

Cryptid Requests/suggestions from my sister - that ended up disscussing the idea of one of her ocs being from an inflentual family that would give her access to such cryptids, let alone custom genetic modifications.

Genetically commissioned cryptids is a wild thought, but fits well to the narrative. The Institute has taken privatized funding for favors, regardless damages or consequences if the end justifies their means. I had a fun discussion with my sister, regarding one of her OC's. That She'd likely be from blue blood family that would likely have access and to resources regular uncanny humans do not. Thus giving her ridiculous privlages, because her parents have the means to flaunt their title and wealth, to buy special favours corrput orgnization, that are empowered to do anything aslong as they have the resources to do so. An of course she's their sweet, genuinly kind despite being spoiled princess. The sort of person whose family name gives her a bad wrap, but she's an emapth who loves and cares, but makes her an easy target for other to take advantage of. Her parents know this, could be why they are content have a Snallygaster imrpint on her. Or care that her best friend iis just a chill Monongy. Does the head of the science department approve, no - but the extra funds will help back other projects, and give them accesss to even greater resources, to help their main projects.

Having ADHD and hyper empathic traits is like weird af.

Hyperfocused? Headphones on to drown out the world? Head down?

Here's a random negative emotion, it has nothing to do with what you where just hyperfocused on but man it either takes you out of focus, or you are about to go down a hyperfocused spiral of memories that you haven't thought/worried about in years, but are related to that negative emotion so here we go.

I assume as survival traits they are highly effective, especially with making sure the group's mindset is level before something like traveling or hunting. Though, instead of getting lost in thought, it's a, 'something is a miss on the team, we need to regroup and make sure everyone is okay and safe'. Or just being warned about legit danger without having to be audibly or visually told.

As a beginner witch, do you think you could explain what an empath is to me? I've heard the term before, and have resonated with it a little, but I was never able to fully grasp what it means.

Sure, I myself am one!

So an empath is someone with the natural ability to to understand the the mental, physical and emotional state of a person or animal, you get different tipes of Empaths but Empaths are people who sense, feel and reads energy.

Emapths can feel other people's emotions or they can feel animals emotions or plant emotions ( i belief plants have souls ) or some can feel physical pain ( it doesn't actually hurt in a way, but its hard to explain ). In truth you can be only one of these or all, or just some of them, I myself can feel emotions, pain, animals and plants, as well as a few others. There all a lot of different types but honestly an empath is someone who feels emotional energy very strong. It can also be very dangerous for you at some point if you can't identify your emotions and others emotions.

●Ways to protect your energy:

Veiling - this can include veils, hats, ribbons, headbands ect.

Crystals - Clear Quartz, Smokey Quartz, Carnelian, Fluorite, Black Tourmaline, Amethyst, Hematite, Snowflake/Black Obsidian, Black Onyx, Pyrite, Tigers Eye, Selenite, Rose Quartz, and many more!

Self Care - Spend time with yourself and care about your well-being, journal or do something that calms you.

Sea salt - absorbs negative energy ( i usually keep some on me in a small bag and replace in every month or so )

Grounding - connect with nature

Amulets - I use mine to help me calm down and realize which is my emotions and which is not mine.

so I was pondering the concept of Unicron (and, by extension, Eda) eating planets but having dark energom for "blood". because with most transformers they drink normal energon and then that's their blood (sort of), so if Unicron and Eda eat planets then where does that stuff go, and where does dark energon come from?

there's probably already an explanation for this, but still, here's my take:

Dark Energon is the "lifeblood of Unicron" in that it supports all major system/anti-spark-related functions, and is naturally distilled from the entropy of the universe (because robot god powers). it maintains the proverbial nervous system and channels energy into various supernatural outputs (ex. Eda's emapth powers); when the lines are ruptured it takes time to naturally replenish, and if enough dark energon is lost it can prevent the use of certain abilities and functions (and for Eda in particular, a dark energon line rupture is extremely painful, therefore this system is very heavily armored)

planet-remnants are stored in the Molten Metals system, which manages self-repair, general upkeep, and temperature regulation (because space is very cold, and insulative armor is not everything). since the lines of this system are much more plentiful and often closer to the surface, damage dealt isn't exceptionally painful and on the small scale is essential for staying healthy - the downside is that this system requires regular replenishment, especially if lots of metals are lost to self-repair. (it's also noteworthy that this system is helpful in staving off corrosion and corrosive illnesses, when properly utilized - for example, scrubbing off oxidization allows for those oxidized metals to be replaced, which is an important thing to know when living within an atmosphere and wanting to still have functioning joints)

I might refine this with more specifics later, but that's my theory on how it works

1. What do you think is Nick’s greatest strength? 2. His weakness?

I've thought long and hard about this all day and I think to answer both, it's his empathy.

It's a strength in the way for the exact reason he points out to Grissom--you can't ignore the human element when it comes to the cases they work. It adds that extra layer of idk, not necessarily urgency but in some ways, yes. Would they have found Cassie alive in Gum Drops had Nick not been so personally driven because he was rescued so why couldn't this little girl, who's proven to be smart, to be a survivor, like him, why couldn't she live too? He gets more details talking to victims and suspects and witnesses like an emapthizing person would rather than some of the other CSIs. Look at the way he talked to Tommy in Death and the Maiden--which honestly I will forever think was the second installment in the exploration of Nick's childhood trauma trilogy with Overload, that ep, and Let's Make a Deal though they weren't like, as outright about it in DatM. Look at the way he talked to that one kid in I think a season two/three episode who had wet the bed--really any of the kids he talks to and helps, and helps him in return. The way he comforts his fellow CSIs (Sara in Empty Eyes always gets me, "she didn't have to die alone" because he damn near did back in that box and that's probably all he could think about), the way he's driven when one of them are in trouble, just...sort of the way he's kinda like, idk, the soul of the team?

Now that's not to say it's not a weakness--we watch him unravel and actually break down because he empathized too much with Haley in Turn, Turn, Turn and beats himself up cause he didn't do more for her. We watched him get close to Jason McCann only for the kid to turn on him and nearly kill him (and that's when another weakness of his shone through--his own explosions of anger) and saw him get to a point (before he knew the kid was involved, sure,) where he said: I'm not afraid to die, let's see if they are because he was just so wound up and had disregarded his own life (and really, I always felt like he already did ever since Warrick died, he grew more and more reckless which I think is another weakness of his) and it did land him in some hot water in a few season 4 episodes with warrick and sara (which built up to his "so what?" speech to grissom in 4x11) And I think that stubbornness he gets when people do prod him about his empathy, or when he feels that there is an injustice towards someone he kinda feels for (like that kid in compulsion and how he was super stubborn, and rightfully so, with how pushy Cavaliere was getting)

some other minor weaknesses would again, be that recklessness with his life esp in those later seasons where it seems like he thinks he's indestructible, his reluctance to get therapy, his reluctance to truly talk about his feelings, the occasional short fuse of his anger, his loyalty can cause a fault--oh and that's another part of the empathy, with how loyal he was to Ray and how they both fucked things up for themselves in season 11, his ignorance--which he does get better with as the series goes on

but also some more strengths of his: the loyalty esp when he was challenged by ecklie to try and throw grissom under the bus and did his best not to feed into it, his attention to detail and strong intuition, his endurance (I firmly believe nobody else would have survived grave danger), his charm--he seems to get along with pretty much everybody not to say he doesn't have a few people he has spats with, his courage in those situations which, a bit tragically, do make him a hardened individual who can get back up after getting shot at and who literally rose from a premature grave and I guess this bit lends into that empathy again, but just...his passion. the way that when he loves somebody, he is devoted (no matter what kind of love, platonic/romantic) and always seems like he will do whatever he can/needs to for those he loves

I got words, I got thoughts, I got something eating my orchid flowers, it’s time for me to ramble about wip4 again. 

I’ve mentioned in previous rambles that I’m maybe changing the villain. Good news, the villain has indeed changed. Cold, logic-based emapth? Now exists. His name is Percival. It’s a stupid name, we can all agree on that. Moving on.

Originally I was like ‘okay what if his Big Aim is to try and Stop people feeling literally anything’ because he’s an empath, so he feels other peoples feelings and also projects his own. This can make certain situations a living nightmare. Exam hall? Horrible. Jobseekers centre? Horrible. There’s a lot of hotspots of misery, it wouldn’t be that great. 

Buuuut.... Percival is kinda growing up. He’s an early adult. He’s dealt with this shit his entire life, so why decide to snap now? Something had to change for that to happen, right? 

In this world, people have abilities. That much is obvious, universe takes from your body if you go over the line, blah blah blah read the previous rambles if you want to hear more about that. Naturally, that is limited to one (1) ability per person, and there are exactly two exceptions to that rule. 

Keaton, who gets taken apart and put back together, comes back with a bit of the universe stuck inside him which gives him a lot of stress and also the ability to See where other peoples abilities manifest. And being technical, he doesn’t have two abilities, he has his telekinesis and also a parasite that comes with this addition, but it’s two abilities in one body, let’s not get specific.

Percival has a sister - previously mentioned in the already dated comic sans powerpoint, there’s a displacer who specialises in the human body. She figures out that hey, peoples abilities count as part of their body, experiments on her brother by yoinking someones ability and plopping it into him and oooh wait hang on, is that legal? What happens then?? 

Well, for starts, it’s not a fun time. It hurts, having someone elses electricity running through your veins. It hurts putting that inside yourself (and, for the person who is being stolen from, it hurts having it ripped out of you). It hurts trying to use it. 

These abilities aren’t cute or fun, they’re painful and raw and they burn and it’s only because you’re used to your burning that you don’t notice it. Taking someone elses ability is like swallowing a hot coal, putting it directly in your heart and letting it pump out fire through your veins. 

But, it is possible. 

Having all this extra energy also sends your original ability shooting through the roof. Let’s take Keaton as an example again because I like him: before being taken apart, he specialised in fiddly things - really delicate movements, the ability to use his telekinesis to thread a needle from across the room. 

After being put back together? Line up twenty needles in a row. He could probably thread them all together from the other side of a football field. 

Now, Keaton and Percival are not very similar in how they fucked with the universes rules, but they did both fuck with them, so I’m using Keaton as a guideline. Percival was originally pretty good at using his own feelings to sway a room; just small nudges, maybe calming the previously mentioned exam hall with a small shot of determination, maybe pushing someone at a charity shop to donate a bit more with a sprinkling of goodwill. Small things. 

After getting that ability stretched and amplified, he can literally suffocate your own feelings with what he wants you to feel instead. The previously metioned air of numbness around him? Partially due to practise, partially because other peoples feelings hurt. It feels like needles buzzing in his skin all the time after coming out the other side of ‘fuck the universe’, and drowning that in a cloud of nothing is better than dealing with it. 

And that is why he decides to make some big plan to stop people feeling things. 

There’s also the added motivation of ‘well hey I’ve seen how feelings affect people and I can guarantee that it’s rarely, if ever, good’ and the whole ‘feeling are an irrational addition to the human condition’ and all his dumb facts and logic, but the foundation of his plan is selfish. 

He’s hurting. 

He wants to stop hurting. 

Then he wants other people to stop hurting. 

So, in my head, there’s a clear distinction between pre-universe fucking Percival and post-universe fucking Percival. I know the original Percival was an art student. I think he worked in a charity shop. He was, quite genuinely, a really nice guy. 

And then it all got

I know this is already getting kind of long but I want to take a quick moment whilst I’m on a roll to talk about another difference between Keaton and Percival - in the extra abilities. 

I’ve spoken before in the previous rambles about how abilities have a limit until you allow them to build up again, and in their natural place of origin, this at least makes some sort of sense. When it’s an extra abilitiy though...?

Keaton’s came from something else that is now also hitchhiking along indefinitely, which means it has a clear place to refill when it’s been exhausted (if it ever gets exhausted - does it get exhausted?). 

Percival’s were stolen from the original host, meaning they’re without this recharge place. Once he reaches the limit, that’s it. The ability flickers out of existance. It doesn’t return to the original host, they burn out and disintergrate, and he’s without this stolen power, until he finds someone else to leech off of.

In addition, resting also nulls the extra ability. This is when peoples original abilities recharge, so at this time, extra energy is just converted to help power the original ability.

Hello, it's me again. I'm not asking you for a reading, but a question about empaths. Are there certain signs of an empath? How do you know if one is an empath? I apologize if this sounds stupid.

And no this isn't stupid at all!

Everyone is an empath. Yes everyone to some level and extent can feel this deep connection with the life source that they have no problem picking up on the energies of others things/people/animals. This was something extremely shocking to me at first ngl because all the research I did, no one once mentioned this. Everyone mentioned how to spot an empath but then I stumbled upon an article which made a lot of sense. It was weird at first considering it was contradicting everything I've known about empaths but then again we all are learning so my views on the topic mayhaps were wrong. Now, who is an empath is the first question you'd wanna ask yourself. An empath is a person who is deeply connected to emotions/energies around them. They are connected to the life force. They know exactly how to comfort someone or what exactly someone is feeling. Their mood can be affected by their surroundings. Now, this was something I thought only few people experienced. 'cause as it was listed in the various articles I've read, being an empath meant that you sometimes have the tendency to get overwhelmed by crowds or negative energies. This article tells you that it may be a actives trauma response instead of that of an empath. Being an emapth is not supposed to bring you down from meeting other people, it isn't something which may make you anti-social or anxious in crowds. For being an empath means to feel. To feel the depth of the life source. To feel everything that's around you and much more. Now, you can and shall still continue to keep yourself an empath. For you are one. Everyone is. It's just a matter of if you are in tune with your emotions and how much of it are you experiencing. Again, this is my take on the article. You are free to do your own interpretation. The article isn't to discourage you from exploring your empathic journey, merely to recognize actives trauma responses or deep rooted grief coming out. I hope this was helpful.

The Episode That Made Me Lose Hope on Steven Universe

Ever since season 4, my interest for Steven Universe have been dwindling as the show progresses however I still have hope that it can be good again just like how Regular Show and Adventure Time had one bad season but it did got better. Until one episode that made me lose hope on the show. You’ll probably be thinking it’s Rocknaldo, Onion Gang, The New Crystal Gems or Escapism, while they are bad and boring but you can just skip it because they’re just filler. The episode that made not care for the show anymore is Gemcation. 

 This episode is not just boring but frustrating to watch because this takes place after “Wanted”, the arc where Steven is taken to Gem Homeworld for trial, more questions about Rose Quartz shattering Pink Diamond and Lars development and they completely dismissed all of it for drama. I know I’m two years late but let’s talk about of how this episode is one of the worst in Steven Universe and this is when I gave up on the show. 

Strike One: Steven is Annoying

So one of the things that the episode annoy the hell out of me is Steven. He was written so terrible in this episode and it was hard to watch how pathatic he was. He becomes a mess when Connie isn’t giving him attention 24/7 

Always on his freaking phone 

Risk his father and Crystal Gems lives so he can just get a signal to text her

It will and always be about him in both vocally and emotionally in every event that has happened in the show and it was so hard to watch him being so dang dramatic about this. 

Strike Two: Teases the Lore 

This episode could’ve given a bit questions being answers about Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond and talk about the lore but of course, Steven completely dismissed as none important to him, especially after “Wanted” Arc. He never asked about if his mom actually did it or not after the event, it always about Connie! 

When the Crystal Gems do try talk about lore, Steven will interrupt them, even if they’re rephrasing it.

Then there’s Pearl, she was trying talk to him about it but she struggles to do so but when was about to break her silence, Steven interupts when she was about to say something important. Thanks Steven!  

I know we get more info about this in A Single Pale Rose but we have to wait eleven boring episodes to finally to get answers! 

Strike Three: Apparently Lars isn’t Important 

When Steven said this

“ I'm not upset about what happened on Homeworld although, yeah, a lot of that was really messed up. But my relationship with Connie is even more messed up.”

 This is when I lose my patience for the show. Who the hell decided that THIS was a good idea?! So Lars who was him in the trial, helped protect the Off Colours from Homeworld Droids, gets killed in the process and then get revived and he was stuck in Gem Homeworld while Steven escape to Earth

Instead of him being worred for Lars, he cares MORE about Connie feelings than his friend safety?! What the hell Crewniverse?! Also to add insult, that scene was supposed to be that we, the viewers, emapthized with and feel bad for him by writing, direction and the music but that so BS. Seriously, why the writers of this episode think Steven and Connie relationship is more important than Lars in Homeworld?! 

Conclusion 

Gemcation really made me upset and this was the last straw I have for Steven Universe. Steven was too clingly to Connie, it keeps trolling about lore and what’s worst is Lars was completely shafted. Steven Universe used to be one of the best shows I’ve watched but now it became a huge letdown. If you like it the episode, that’s fine but it just my opinion.
