Hopper sees Nancy Wheeler - a girl he handed a shotgun to and never got it back - and Eddie Munson - a boy who once tried to steal his gun off his belt as a kid- talking to each other near the woods and is just like, “No. nope. I don’t like that. Get away from each other.”

To which Steve next to him is like, “Dude, chill. They’re just going to get high.”

Hopper is like, “….Are you high right now?”

“Oh yeahhhhh,” Steve nods. “Definitely. We’re taking turns so you don’t notice.”

While Eddie is seething with jealousy that Hopper is giving all his attention to a pretty boy jock with brain damage, Steve is befriending a man on crutches that he met in the parking lot at the grocery store.

He’s giving this guy a ride home because his truck won’t start. He’s giving advice about sprained ankles, deflecting questions about his own injuries. He’s offering to pick up this guy’s medication. He’s bringing him soup the next day.

Eddie is too busy trying to get Hopper’s attention that he hasn’t even realized that Steve is stealing his uncle.
