I still continue to be surprised by my family and I know I shouldn’t be. But my grandmother has major mobility issues and and parents’ house isn’t great for that. So today we’re at a family event and had a conversation like this:

Family: We just don’t know what we’re going to do about Christmas. Grandma can’t do the stairs and we just don’t know what to do!

Me: Our house could probably work. If you want? It’s only five minutes from yours and there aren’t stairs.

Family: If only there was some solution to this problem!

Me: *stares directly into the camera*

didn’t want to put this directly on lrb and derail it but I think when people reject the general idea of The Cloud there’s an underlying anxiety about privacy & security that’s like, totally fair. google classroom assignment generation etc. the good news is there are privacy-respecting storage options!! the bad news is that they are rarely free or foolproof. the more-good-news is that the learning curve is pretty doable with a couple days of youtube university and you can at least do like, some level of damage control with the free tiers lol

#like I haven’t figured out a long term solution for my documents and photos yet so those are still in icloud & onedrive (ew)#but I use the free tier of proton for my calendar which is huge! google used to know where I was all the time and now it doesn’t!#my goal is to eventually self host with nextcloud

#the funny thing is this would almost have to star shen jiu as haruhi?#if we're looking at the one poor kid among all the rich trust fund babies #either that or SY and SJ have to be the twins‚ which does do weird things to the different roles & relationships #like. if SJ does not come from a street kid background then why is he Like That #hmm maybe there was a Parent Trap situation where the twins got split up between the parents #and SY went with a parent who was fairly decent and SJ went with a parent who was ... not #and they were reunited in high school?#they wouldn't be able to pull off the Hitachiin interchangeable double act #but they might get some mileage out of a good twin-bad twin act instead #okay let's try SY and SJ as the twins and Luo Binghe as Haruhi #Yue Qingyuan as the well-meaning but kind of a himbo club leader #Liu Qingge as Mori perhaps? he doesn't fit great as Kyouya -- not manipulative enough #But then again Shang Qinghua and Mobei-jun would best fit Hani and Mori's weird codependency thing #so that does leave the role of the SIC for Liu Qingge #I don't think the roles all line up exactly -- we may have to combine or split out some #I feel like the demon characters have got to be in some kind of a rival club #but it's been a while since I've seen OHSHC so I can't recall most of the plotlines #either way Luo Binghe accidentally breaks something #and gets co-opted into the host club to work off his debt #this solution was proposed by SY and Luo Binghe went '....okay!'#then unfortunately. he met shen jiu #ouran high school host club crossover #scum villian self saving system

#i am so serious the worst thing that has ever happened to me is finding this one ohshc x creepypasta + reader quotev fanfic and i really #really loved it but then it slowly devolved in quality and then got an author switch and the new author didnt write an actual story or even #finish it and i am so sad but i dont wanna end on a bad note so i never finished it nor the chapters written by the first author i really #liked that it was no romance and focused on the relationships of reader and toby being like siblings and it was extremely weird but very #sweet that they were explicitly like toby was happy to join ouran/the host club because he was like i never got a normal hs experience or #got to feel like i fit in anywhere That is such a strange way of approaching it but i really liked that also its just funny in that uninten #tional 2010s fanfic way and also there wasnt unnecessary death until there was and i started disliking it. ofc i dont really like the chees #cake jokes (iirc there were a few) but also reader getting calls from the creepypastas was so cute and sweet i love when people agree that #they are like a family moreso than a business or like Realistically theyd hate each other nuh uh they are sweet stupid family Ok #i just love how genuine and sweet the relationships are and that the slender mansiob is so supportive and checks in on reader #you can read old ao3/quotev fanfics but watch out you will like them and they will never be finished #the solution.. is to do it yiurself…

#i remember learning about this from my MOMS psych textbooks back in like #2015 #okay #systems have SO MANY formations #not all of them are going to present as a dude who has no idea whats going on #because in those systems theres a separation between the “host” alter #and the Original Alter #theres a severe divide in those cases which is why its so noticeable that theres a personality split and why its the only form of plurality #people think is valid #others are different lmfao #im not Going to get into the medical history of the epilepsy and trauma and whatnot #but plurality is COMMON #honestly and truthfully #back when i first was getting diagnosed for this #BECAUSE YES I'VE SEEN TWO PSYCHS ABOUT THIS AND HAVE HAD IT AFFIRMED IN SPITE OF MY LACK OF #“TRADITIONAL DID PRESENTATION”#anywah back when i was seeing shrinks for it because i was heavily fragmented at the time i knew of two other people #in my social circle #who were also systems #one had been in the process of gettin diagnosed on and off for about seven years #another was my age at the time (19) and starting the process like i was with a shrink who was #AFFIRMING US #BECAUSE WE DONT WANT TO HAVE THIS SHIT #AND WE WERE LOOKING FOR OTHER SOLUTIONS
