Phantomish Rogues

Team Phantom get ripped from their home universe into the DCverse. With no money or real ID's in this world. Now thats a problem.

Until they can get their hands on a safe space, tech, and money, Team Phantom might have to go a bit Rogue/Villainous if they wanna keep Danny safe until he wakes up.

watching Leverage for the first time and it's funny cuz like

through fandom osmosis, I was aware of The Trio. folks I follow (and Red from OSP) would not shut up about the Trio. Spy, tech guy, the muscle. Polyshipping out the wazoo; very fun, a nice twist on usual fandom shipping dynamics.

I was vaguely aware there was another guy. Older white dude. Sure. Probably the more protagonist-y protagonist, the leader, and kinda generic for it. That's all born out.

Somehow the fandom entirely failed to mention the other woman in the party. Which would make sense; she's kiiiind of a generic femme fatale spy lady. Except for the absolutely hilarious concept where she's a terrible actor unless she's conning someone.

if you dont like tears of the kingdom, was there a moment that "broke" you, as in, the moment you knew this game is worse than you thought/hoped, and if so what was it?

personally, while i was suspicious after seeing its last trailer, i told myself its just me again and i kept up my hopes for a long time into my playthrough- its hard to point to a specific point since it was a growing feeling of something being off, things didnt make sense and i ever so more wondered how they would pull this all together (they didnt)- i do think the moment i stopped being in denial about it was when i found the shrine of life, the beginning of botw, and found .. nothing, a dingy cave practically licked clean of any traces of the shiekah tech like it never existed, instead of the medical bed a pathetic puddle of water that healed you, no one caring at all, like it actually never happened- i felt like the game pointed and laughed at me for caring about botw, pretty sure i was struggeling to keep it together on stream bc it forced me to realize this game truly is everything i hoped it wouldnt be, even if that sounds a little weird, at that time zelda and especially botw was so much more important to me, a passion for the franchise this game really did end up killing.

the thing about Lucky Day is that yeah, obviously UNIT is a stand-in for important government departments having their funding cut or being generally "discredited" by conspiracy nuts. Which even in-universe makes sense, as UNIT in the UK just stopped existing completely for a few years as a result of Brexit. It's a stand-in for anything to do with the environment, health, stuff like that. At the time where you see America and DOGE fuck up the staffing and funding of important departments this is a really obvious and important episode to do. But the thing about UNIT is that this doesn't really work as a perfect stand-in.

Conrad sets up a scenario where UNIT not only gets "exposed" as being a waste of taxes, but also films himself being threatened by them. The public is outraged that he had guns pointed at him. And sure, he bends the story to his will in a very familiar right wing way, but he still had fucking guns pointed at him. The NHS isn't pointing guns at people because they are not the military. And sure this is nitpicky af of me but I hate the military. Especially in this day and age where military propaganda is rampant I feel like the Avengers-fication of UNIT is really glaring when compared to original UNIT and the military criticism that was, like, the main thing in 70s dr who.

I do think the message they tried to get across isn't bad, but I have to say that UNIT doesn't really work that well for that setting.

Danny knows Technus got back into the living world, but he has no idea where he is. He’s pretty sure Technus took one of his offhand comments during their fight as inspiration and left Amity Park, but they lost his trail after that. Still, they’ve kept looking. There’s no telling how much damage he could do with the proper technology under his control.

Meanwhile, the Justice League is growing very concerned. Someone has been going around the US stealing a number of high-tech devices, but no one knows who or why. The thief’s desire for technology is obvious, but all attempts at catching them or even just finding out more have failed.

The Bad Batch’s version of the GAR’s dress uniforms is basically tuxedo T-shirts, whatever pants are the cleanest (actual cleanliness variable), and whichever boots have the least amount of dirt, blood, duct tape, and other assorted unidentifiable stains on them.

Echo was not told about this until they were required (as in could absolutely not get out of it, no matter how hard they tried — and they tried) to show up somewhere in dress uniforms. He was struggling to make the standard GAR dress uniform fit his prosthetics. (It wasn’t going to work.) Wrecker shoved a bundle of clothes at him and told him that they’d fit with the biggest grin on his face.

When asked why this was their “dress” uniform, Hunter explained, “Well, they didn’t say we couldn’t, so we did it to see if they would say anything. They didn’t directly complain, so we just kept doing it. Now, we’ve got a bet going on how long we can keep this up before they make us wear actual dress uniforms.”

Echo needed no further explanations. He simply put it on. (Wrecker was correct. Everything did fit.) It didn’t take him long to up the ante and cut the sleeves off the shirt. (The rest of the Batch followed suit . . . for reasons. Echo never felt more accepted.)

The one time Echo was loaned back to the 501st after he joined the Bad Batch involved an occasion where dress uniforms were required. He didn’t even think twice in showing up in his new dress uniform. (He contemplated turning his shirt into a crop top, but ran out of time to do that.) He spent the entire time being the most gleeful little chaos gremlin this side of Coruscant.

Rex isn’t sure if he’s proud of Echo or if he regrets letting him join the Bad Batch because of this.
