thinking about how kageyama's heart probably skips a beat whenever he sets the ball to a particularly tricky place and doesn't see anyone go for it. how he still gets shivers at the sight of an empty place where a hitter should be. how he still thinks, even if just for a moment, that maybe this is it– this is the time his teammates will have finally had enough and the ball will fall down without anyone going for it, again.

thinking about how every time, without fail, there's someone there. how he can feel his soul come back to his body the second he sees someone jump to hit his toss. how he's thrilled if they score a point, but not as much as he is at the sudden realization that there is someone there. always. no matter how tricky his tosses are, or how close they are to losing– none of that matters, because as long as he manages to set the ball, the game isn't over, because someone will hit it.

imagine how healing it must be for him to finally realize he doesn't have to feel terrified when he doesn't see anyone going for his toss, because he knows someone will be there.

yes i did! it's what got me into writing, actually!

but those fics are pretty bad; i had no clue what i was doing, didnt pay any attention to my tense (probably didnt even know what tense was back then), switched povs at random points multiple times in the same paragraph, etc. etc. i wrote most of them within a day on complete whims.

then i stopped posting because i got so self-conscious of my work and just wrote drabbles to myself in my notes whenever ideas came. i did this for almost two years, until i decided to post again for milgram.

apparently he's old? considering he's canonically self-conscious about his age, except he's like 40. (i mean hes probably mentally older because timeloop shenanigans). also kiane calls him old so.

he has an entire closet filled with bones. specifically kiane's bones. theres no exact number but he's said hes killed kiane "thousands and thousands of times" he has memorized like the first 20 lines of the canterbury tales memorized and recited them for a fucking slam poetry thing he sucks at playing piano the cops of flordaddle literally use his house as their police hq he claims to be 6'handsome" but is like 5'6. he's a terrible logo designer okay i have nothing left

if he wins im giving him the balloon he should have had for his birthday on the morrow (dont ask what id do if he loses, if i said hed absolutely lose lmao)

no but asahi would 100% be that sweet guy who's always loved by grandmas. like he'd definitely make small talk w them and be SO nice and polite and he'd get free homemade food all the time.

(obviously some grandmas would try to set their grandchildren up with the nice & handsome sweetheart they met the other day, but that's not the point. asahi's just thrilled to have some nice calm chats and free cookies so it's a win-win)
