I'm going to say something some of my fellow Tobirama fans are not going to like but I'm going to say it anyway:

Karin's 👏 sensing 👏 abilities 👏 are 👏 far 👏 more 👏 advanced 👏 than 👏 Tobirama's! 👏👏

Tobirama has to mould chakra to actively sense, and when he does, he can only detect the number of chakra signatures within a certain parameter.

Karin is the one who can sense completely unconsciously, and detect the size, reserves and potency of someone's chakra, as well as tell the feelings of a person to some extent.

Maybe Tobirama's sensing abilities were the best in his times, that's perfectly possible, but by the time Karin is born, she has surpassed him. And you know what? Good for her!!!

Please stop making Tobirama some kind of all-knowing empath, not even Karin can tell the exact feelings of someone just from reading their chakra. You're making him boring; he's already ridiculously powerful as it is, put some damn limits on his abilities, for fuck's sake. 🙄

i'd like to know about a fic you've got hiding somewhere in your docs, if you've got one!

2. How did you get the idea to write this? 16. Is there any written scene that you think about a lot?

i certainly do! thank you for asking! 🧡 the hard part was choosing just one fic and scene to talk about, because I have several that I cycle through that I will likely never finish, but I write or half-write them anyway.

2. How did you get the idea to write this?

The project-fic in my docs is one that I had the idea for over last christmas break, but I was too busy writing all sorts of other things to really develop and finish it. it's a BIG au, with a lot of fun exciting possibilities, and the potential to develop into a very long fic 🙈

The basic set-up is canon divergence from the point in Kakashi gaiden where Obito and Kakashi are fighting about whether to go save Rin. Like in canon, Kakashi says something like you can go, but i'm not going with you, and Obito punches him in the face for abandoning his comrades.

from there, all hell breaks loose, althoguh it takes several years for all the consequences to unfold. basically, Kakashi never doubles back to help Obito save Rin, and Madara captures Obito quite easily without bothering to squish him under a rock. Rin is taken captive by Iwa and disappears. When Minato comes back to gather his team, he can't find Kakashi or Rin, but he follows obito's trail, which leads him to Madara and Black Zetsu.

Minato fights and kills Madara, but not before black zetsu is able to use a trick or deception of some sort to take control of minato and put a command seal on him. So then black zetsu, while possessing minato, storms off to go get nagato’s rinnegan via hiraishin teleportation. Then oneshots all the jinchuuriki, including kushina. Which means kaguya gets out of her moon seal thing, and seals the chakra of everyone on the planet.

Turning it into her peaceful nursery/personal garden of eden. There’s no infinite tsukuyomi. Just everyone in the entire world gets stripped of their chakra. Kaguya has it all.

At that point, Minato wakes up from the mind-control and realizes the part he played in basically fucking up the entire ninja world and destabilizing EVERYTHING. And it fucks him UP. But he can't really do anything about it since neither he nor anyone else has chakra anymore.

And besides that, there's the not-unimportant matter of where all his genin actually wound up, because he's currently 0/3 since Obito seems to have disappeared somewhere too.

Most of the rest of the fic is about them all reuniting years later, or trying to find each other. Obito and Minato find each other first, and join a resistance organization named Akatsuki full of guerilla fighters who are trying to push back against Kaguya's totalitarian hold over the universe. Obito becomes besties with Yahiko and Gai and they are part of the front-lines of the resistance fight.

But no one has heard from Kakashi or Rin for years, all they hear are rumors that Iwa still has Rin and uses her medical expertise even tho she doesn't have medical ninjutsu, and there are other worse rumors about Kakashi, and how he actually defected from Konoha and threw his allegiance in with the enemy and now works for the Imperial Suna Empire, since konoha completely fragmented after the chakra was taken, and Suna rose up as a military power in the power void...

...so yeah that's the basic idea!

As for how I got it, well, I think my brain was just trying to shake the container of Naruto-Fic-Ideas and ended up rattling all the pieces around and turning a lot of them upside-down. I think I will eventually write and finish it, just have to finish some of my other long fics first before embarking on that mission. 😅

16. Is there any written scene that you think about a lot?

YES, the other part of this fic idea is one that stems from a hyper-specific whump trope that I really love and involves a little bit of mild body horror/gore. The part of the fic where Obito and Minato finally find Kakashi and also find out what has been done to him by their enemies is probably where the idea for the fic first originated. Sadly, I cannot reveal what the trope is without giving away a major plot point or two, but yeah, I really like this trope when it's done right, so I think about that scene a lot, because in my mind i'm turning over how to do the trope right, to make reading about it wince-worthy and whumpy without being absolutely horrific.

The other fun major injury that I have planned for Kakashi in this fic is not a terrible spoiler, so I'll share a little bit of that here:

...and surprise! kakashi actually has a delayed splenic rupture, and they're halfway through a big escape before anyone realizes how bad the internal bleeding, bruising, vomiting, shivering, and shaking are, and how Kakashi will most likely die if they don't get him immediate medical treatment.

So my top three favorite ships include of...

3) Two singing and dancing trolls, one is a princess who is always over hyper and so joyful and positive, and the other is an anti social grump who has A LOT of trauma and abandonment issues, but hey, he's in a boyband and has a cool bunker!

2) A prideful prince of an extinct alien warrior race who's way too obsessed with defeating this one guy and also has God levels of power and his wife who is the richest and smartest woman in the entire world with an "I can fix him" mentality and she surprisingly did in fact fix him.

1) A mutant turtle that knows ninjutsu, has anger issues, some unresolved daddy issues, beef with his blue brother and has a major fear of cockroaches and a very tall warrior woman who is apart of an alien salamander species and she can beat his ass effortlessly (and he likes that).

What inspired Koya? It’s such a unique and funny take on her, I’d love to hear more

Tbh it started back in January, i was at my peak of hyper fixation on mutant mayhem when it came out,

I wanted to make more characters other than Casey, April, and Irma (the main 3) to interact with more and yeah, but didn’t wanna sound out of place of the story at time,

Of course I wanted to venture into the foot clan lore, since the movie left a cliffhanger on shredder, and found old concept art of foot soldiers in the old mm script.

I was like "hm, what if, I drew Karai if they were in mutant mayhem"

When I first drew her, I liked the design, but it wasn’t giving, "Karai" it gave— another kind of character, but I liked my first draft design, so I decided to keep it.

I wanted to make that design a character, Isolde the idea of making someone that’s parallel opposite to Leo’s relationship with April (ironically)

I wanted this character to hate Leo’s guts at the even mention of him, yet I want Leo to try and befriend them in his casual Leo anxious sense—

I tried looking up characters from tmnt to get inspired from, and found a lot of awesome stuff!! and pretty much everything else skyrocketed from there!

I was originally gonna make her a side "supporting" character in the story, but during making her I got too connected with her and decided to try and make her important to the story in my head,

she was originally gonna be this this teen arrogant barista that isn’t used to the mutant-acceptance thing, that so happened to go to the same school with the turtles.

But, that felt— boring! Like— I know I could do better— and- I can’t just waste her to work at the counter like that!!! So I tried again,

Her second concept was now the school’s hall monitor that has this intense beef with Leo because he kept forgetting the hall pass, but so happened to have ninjutsu, or so well, better ninjutsu than the turtles!

I thought to myself— I wanted to go more deeper with her knowing ninjutsu, what persued her to have it? She’s definitely more professional than the turtles (for one, she got an actual trainer)

Why’s she so angry? Why so mysterious? Why so.. serious?

She’s definitely the opposite of Leo, she’s very distant, she’s eerie, awkward, weird, she doesn’t like anyone— yet once to act "normal" like other people, but never got to fit in because of her… past.

I pretty much made a whole bunch of lore and stuff for Koya— like a grandma spoiling her grandkids when they come visit!

I eventually got the Koya we have now present time!

In summary— my hyper fixation on mutant mayhem’s concept of the foot clan gave me Koya, my murder machine of a gal, a rogue ninja roaming a new world trying to stop foes from getting in her way, who really can’t stand Leo— LOL

Though I added some elements to her that made her special to me— or well unique- and I liked making her unintentionally funny- like when a friend does something it’s always funny- because why not!!!

I also headcanon Koya having BPD / symptoms of it, because it I thought it suited her well… yeah..

But yeah sorry if I didn’t really make sense…

Finally caught up to the latest chapter and!! BRAIN AND BRAWNS DUO!!! They are so severely underrated as a dynamic in the show so I savour every bit cooked by the fandom-

Gosh, Raph is one of the biggest MVPs in Weak Spot. He's been carrying his family's sorrows for far too long by the looks of it and by god he deserves a long rest and a cold pillow.

Omigosh, that is for sure. Raphie is my second fav Rise boy, but I put a lot of thought into how the dynamics go in Weak Spot. I think most people would think Mikey would be the logical choice to get closest to Donnie first because that's how the dynamic goes in the show, but it was hard for me to see that for Weak Spot Donnie. When you grow up with a hyper person, you have an easier time dealing with them (my bestie knows this with me without question), but when you don't have that experience, it can be hard or exhausting later in life.

Trauma shaped the Weak Spot turtles and by extension their personalities. It was important to me to keep their cores the same so they'd read as the same characters, but also they had changed in undeniable ways. For Raph it was eventually deciding to separate himself from the family while also honoring it in the only way he could. He runs the Lou Jitsu School of Ninjutsu and brought it back from the brink so it is now one of the most thriving dojo chains in NYC. He went the route many older sibling do when it comes to trauma and that was take that 'I have to take care of the younger ones' mentality of responsibility and marry it with the mentality of 'I can't keep giving my life to them because I need to break away.' I'm rambling, but this made him the quiet, most thoughtful, and overall most genuine of the group which, even as a bad guy, Donnie is drawn to. Especially when Don is loudly and obviously averse to how fake he thought the others were being in trying to fold him into the family, Raph having never overtly done that and having given up trying to the fastest already meant something. Then in their time together that view only expanded until Raph decided to obviously quit the team which for Donnie was a great show of where the eldest stood. Raph then upheld that promise which cinched his character in Donnie's eyes. We'll see how they act going forward, but I imagine great things for the pair~

Anyway, I love Raph! Thanks for giving me a chance to rant about him!

imagine minato and even kushina being a mentor to tenten if both were alive. that would have been really cool not to mention tenten will even have more knowledge and further enhance her skills in fuinjutsu and space-time ninjutsu.

I literally have a WIP of kushina and minato being mentors to Tenten and her being an older sister to Naruto!! I think her being Kushina's student especially is so fucking cool and I would have LOVED to see their interactions in an AU because imagine all the cool fuinjutsu she could have learned?? Tenten-Hiraishin would be REAL and I would be happy.

Plus Kushina would absolutely adopt all of Naruto's friends, and it would take her one look at Team Gai before she declares they're all her kids, and yes that includes you too Gai, get in here.

At this point, she’s barely focusing on the seal in front of her, more occupied with the presence looming over her like a god passing judgment. “You’re not focusing, Tenten-chan,” comes the admonishment, gentler than she had expected. “I’m sorry, Uzumaki-san.” “Kushina-sensei is fine.” She grins down at Tenten, and for a moment, Tenten is struck by just how much Naruto takes after his mother. “Just make sure you keep focused. We can’t move on until you learn the basics of elemental sealing.” “Sorry, Kushina-sensei.” She ducks, feeling her ears burn. Picking up her brush once more, she tries to concentrate on the seal in front of her and fails miserably, hyper-aware of Kushina’s intense gaze. “Relax, Tenten-chan.” Kushina sits in the chair next to Tenten’s and tilts her head to look at her scroll, blazing red hair identical to Naruto’s falling over her shoulder. “We’re not all that intimidating, are we?” “N-no,” she lies. Kushina’s bright laughter brings the Hokage into the living room, a warm smile on his face. “Ah, Tenten-chan, how’s that seal going?” His eyebrows knit. “I wonder if we started you off with something too complex.” Tenten feels her heart skip a beat and fights the urge to leap out of her chair. “No, no! I can handle it, I promise!” She gestures at her scroll. “I’m nearly done, I just need to finish the stabilizing ring and it’ll be set to test!” “Don’t worry about her, Minato, I’ve been watching her the entire time.” She shares a look with her husband. “She’s got a real knack for fuinjutsu." "I suspected as much when Naruto told me about a girl who fought with scrolls of storage seals." He takes a seat at the table next to his wife. "I remember seeing reports of you fight at the chunin exams. I couldn't believe that you were self-taught, with those complex seals. All-Fighter Party: you think it's going to be Mortal Combat but it's actually just a bottle flip tournament or competition of who can draw the best circle in one go using the whole arm.

All-Wizard Party: never leaves the inn due to argument over the definition of one hyper-specific word used in the verbal component of several very different spells with wildly different effects

All-Druid Party: Warrior Cats RP Forum.

All-Cleric Party: they have a general good time while travelling and comparing/contrasting the minutiae of multiple religions' holy texts.

All-Ranger Party: No one packed a tent. Or rations. They're still doing just fine. Though they might never leave the wild. There's also a heated yet still amicable discussion on the hermeneutics of Elvish poetry

All-Artificer Party: This is just a high school robotics club (but with a Lego fanclub thrown in too)

All-Bard Party: All disagreements are solved via dance-off. Everyone is here for a good time and the monsters are feeling so attacked right now

All-Paladin Party: There's two gods trying to break it up and failing. And a couple more sitting back and watching popcorn.

All-Warlock Party: Same joke as the paladin one but the patrons are probably all banging each other too

All-Monk Party: Somehow circumventing the Law of Conservation of Ninjutsu, currently engaged in creating a nightmarish new path that's just multiple other monk traditions smashed together

All-Barbarian Party: Team Bonding is arm wrestling. Everyone is having a fantastic time (of course!)

All-Rogue Party: There's one gregarious halfling who is smilingly menacing the others into being a Team and better self-care habits.

All-Sorcerer Party: wild cheering every time the wild magic one sneezes and casts Fireball

All-Bloodhunter Party: They sit around after combat and pass around juice boxes and cookies.

TMNT PIA: Character introduction - Leonardo

While Leo isn’t the youngest brother in this iteration, he is however the smallest (5’1”) this is because this version of Leo is a box turtle, he/him pronouns (Transmasc) gay. Overall Hamato-Teng Leonardo is a typical 15 year old teenage boy and is a generic superhero wannabe. However, this isn’t easy for Leo, being a box turtle he gets scared easily and is very anxious in the face of danger, often retracting into his shell whenever he feels this way, which leaves his brothers often questioning if Splinter was right to make Leo the team leader. Which has only resulted in Leonardo being more determined than ever to prove himself worthy of being the leader we all remember him being.

This version of Leo is very a combination of almost other version of the character ever written. He has 2012 and Mutant Mayhem Leo’s’ desire to be a hero and prove himself, 2003 Leo’s desire to keep his family safe, which has a tendency to blow up in his face due to his own arrogance and even Rise Leo’s overall cheerful, jokester nature and queerness while also having that classic honourable warrior trait that is typically seen with almost every other version of Leonardo.

Fun facts:

Leo is the team medic. He got absorbed into health care after accidentally injuring Mikey when he was 10, wanting to make sure that if any of his family ever got hurt, he could help.

He’s autistic. He’s obviously never been diagnosed professionally, but almost everyone he knows agrees that he’s autistic. Splinter had ignored a lot of the traits when he was younger, mainly because he didn’t fully understand mental health and neurodiversity back then. (But also because his kids were literally turtles and most of the traits he mainly wrote off as just being a turtle thing) But as his kids got older and Splinter found himself learning about neurodiversity and mental health, he realised that his third oldest son showed a lot of traits of autism. This traits mainly being anxiety, hyper empathy, attachment issues, hyperfixations, being really good at that one thing in particular (Ninjutsu) and a few others.

He’s transmasc. He began expressing that he was a boy not a girl from a very young age and insisted that his father and brothers refer to him as Leonardo or Leo instead of his dead name and refer to him as male terms, with male pronouns and let him dress like a boy too. Splinter initially thought this was just a phase and that Leo would eventually grow out of it, but he never did. But as the turtles grew he realised that Leo was actually hellbent on the fact that he was a boy so talked with him about it when he was 12. He is 100% sure he’s a boy and it is not something he was pressured into or anything.

When he was younger he used to steal Mikey’s superhero comics and would try to mimic the heroes’ movements and attacks. Because of this, Mikey joked that he should use his favourite blanket as a cape and Leo took it seriously.

Due to being much smaller and less noticeable than his brother, he’s the best at stealth and remaining unseen.

He’s lactose intolerant.

Since he’s a box turtle, he can’t swim very well (His shell is too heavy), he can swim just fine in shallow waters, and can hold his breath for up to 20 minutes, but struggles in much deeper water.

When it came down to picking out a voice for Leo, I knew I wanted him to have a female voice actor, because I wanted him to sound younger than his brothers, reflecting his personality and character arc of proving himself, and for that I picked Brenda Song, who happens to be one of those voice actors who has a very wide range of voices she can pull off, one of these voices being Anne Boonchuy from Amphibia, this being the exact voice I imagine the character sounding like

blair and benny ran up to ethan's room--well benny dragged her but what can you do! "dude! your parents are gone and we have the run of the house. well except for your sister and sarah, your babysitter." benny mocked him.

ethan rolled his eyes. "do you have any idea what this means?" benny asked excitedly. "that you two can geek out and shove marshmallows in your mouth?" blair asked with the same mock excitement.

"haha blair. nights of ninjutsu 4!" benny announced. "wicked!" ethan yelled out.

"i had to wait 5 hours at night for this puppy and i had to pee the entire time!" benny said. "yeah that was sight i won't ever forget." blair laughed. "you were shopping nearly the whole time!" benny argued.

"hey! abercrombie & fitch had just released a new collection! i couldn't wait!" blair defended herself.

"well this is going to be worth every bit of kidney damage-" ethan said. "while you guys are destroying your organs, i'm going to be with sarah and jane." blair said.

"what's up guys?" blair asked as she sat on the other side of jane.

"Debbie's my favorite doll and now she's ruined." jane said sadly.

"i'm sure i could fix her with some tape or something" sarah said. "then can we have a dance party?" jane asked sarah and blair.

"uh sure what else am i gonna do till your parents get home?" sarah said. "of course janie." blair said. sarah had to leave the room to answer the house phone. blair had received a call so she left jane's room to go into the living room and didn't notice jane go to ethan's room.

the call was from rory.

normally, blair wouldn't be surprised at the random phone call from him, but the last time she'd spoken properly to the blond boy was last week after they'd kissed. it was awkward, which surprised blair. usually, rory would come up to her and walk her to class--it'd become part of their routine--and blair just thought he was being a gentlemen. but the next day, he didn't.

and usually whenever they'd talk, it was him being hyper and flirting with her, but now it was just blair trying to make conversation and rory responding. blair was really starting to miss rory's old demeanor and she was clueless as to why it had changed.

she was really starting to question why her mind was infected with thoughts of rory and not ethan. usually ethan would be on her mind 24/7, but now it was rory. she just chalked it up to rory acting different. she still liked ethan after all!

so, rory calling her out of the blue was a bit surprising.

"hey rory, what's up?" blair asked. she heard him sigh warily. "hey blair, i really need to talk to you." rory said.

rory knew it was his fault that their friendship was strained right now, and he wanted her to know why he'd been acting the way he was.

"blair! ethan! you're gonna want to see this!" blair heard sarah shout from upstairs.

blair groaned under her breath. "listen rory, i want to talk to you too, but right now's not a good time-"

"let me guess, you're at ethan's house." rory said.. almost bitterly. "uh, yeah but it's not like that! we're just-" blair tried. "nah it's all good. you don't have to explain yourself to me. we're just friends." rory said dryly before hanging up.

blair stared down at her phone feeling conflicted. she didn't know why his words felt like a stab to the heart. what he said was true. "we're just friends." so, why did it hurt so much to hear come from his mouth? she'd said it to him plenty of times, and it never affected him(or so she thought), so why did it affect her?

"blair!" benny shouted. blair huffed and trudged up the stairs.

"what the heck is that?" ethan asked incredulously as the five of them stood in jane's room. "that, is a life-sized debbie dazzle." benny said, "think i had a dream about this once."

"gross benny, we don't want to hear about your wet dreams." blair grimaced. benny lightly shoved her.

"jane, how did this happen?" ethan crouched down to his sisters height. "she had a broken leg so i used benny's fix it spell an now, well... she's alive!" jane smiled.

"let's have ice cream and go to a roller disco dance party!" debbie said with her weird automatic smile. "yay!" jane smiled happily. "i'm in" benny said with a grin. "no parties. we need to turn her back into a doll." ethan said.

"no! i don't want to go back. it's so boring, i want to have fun. i won't go back, i won't!" debbie said. "don't worry debbie, i won't let them change you back, i promise." jane said.

"oh goody. let's celebrate. cupcake dance party!" debbie said before jane dragged the life-sized doll out of the room.

"find a way to undo this. now!" sarah said handing benny his spell book back and walking after jane and debbie, blair in tow.

"this is a cupcake party!" benny said, walking into the kitchen. "did you find anything" ethan said in a hopeful tone.

"good news and bad news. bad news, i couldn't figure out the spell. good news, i'm on level two of nights of ninjutsu 4!" benny said.

"you mean to tell me you've been up their for an hour playing that stupid game?" blair asked incredulously. "it's a hard game! and it's not stupid!" benny said.

"mm, lemon swirl." debbie said, handing a cupcake to sarah. "no, please. no more cupcakes." sarah said.

"ooo! i'll take a lemon swirl." benny said.

"oh no, look at your clothes!" debbie said to jane, "i know just what we should play next, debbie dazzle fashion show!"

"okay!" jane and debbie began to walk out of the kitchen but doubled over in pain. "ow!" debbie yelped. "are you okay?" ethan asked, holding a hand out. as soon as she grabbed his hand, ethan had a vision.

"i'm fine," debbie stood up straight quicker than blair blinked, "great in fact, let's go have some fashion fun!" debbie walked out with a creepy smile and jane at her side.

ethan stumbled. sarah, benny, and blair rushed to his side. blair helped him stand up straight.

"woah, what happened?" benny asked. sarah and blair shared a concerned look. "i had a vision." ethan started, "debbie needs life energy to stay in human form. she absorbs it through contact. if we-" ethan stumbled over again, feeling faint.

blair rushed over and wrapped an arm around his upper body to stabilize him. "woah buddy, she must've drained you a little." benny noted.

"wait, maybe if we keep her away from people, she'll turn back into a doll." ethan realized.

"let's hope." sarah said.

suddenly, the doorbell rung. ethan and benny went to go answer the door. blair looked out of the window to see who it was only to find it's rory.

"shoot!" blair said under her breath, ducking down out of the view to hide from rory.

"woah, what's up?" sarah asked. "it's rory." blair said. "usually, you're all excited to see him." sarah said.

"yeah well usually, he isn't avoiding me." blair said. if it wasn't for that phone call earlier, she wouldn't be hiding, but now...

"rory avoiding you? there's no way!" sarah said. "way. ever since we kissed in the blood truck, he's been all weird." blair said.

"well what did you say to him that night? because i know that that kiss wouldn't cause him to act that way." sarah asked, sitting next to her underneath the window.

"the last thing i said was that the kiss didn't mean anything because we are just friends. he agreed with me, so i don't think that was it!" blair tried, but she ended up sounding extremely stupid.

"you said that! man, for someone so smart, you are extremely oblivious." sarah said. blair looked all confused so sarah continued.

"blair, it's so obvious that rory likes you. like, a lot. how would you feel if the person you liked said that to you" sarah said.

blair's heart fluttered at the thought of him liking her,but she quickly pushed that feeling down.

"rory does not like me! he acts that way to any girl he sees!" blair tried.

"how many other girls do you see him go out of the way to walk them to class and hold all of their things for them every period? who else does he get red as a tomato for? which is really weird by the way since he's a vampire... but anyway! it's so painfully obvious that he likes you!" sarah said, waving her arms around.

blair thought about it all. she actually really enjoyed whenever he did all of those things for her. it made her feel special. and she really liked it when he called her sweet names, even if she'd never say that out loud. rory was an amazing person. but did he like her? she wouldn't mind it if he did, but it just seemed unlikely to the blue eyed girl.

"nuh-uh sarah. i don't believe it." blair denied. sarah rolled her eyes and sighed. "oh blair. my sweet and oblivious bee." sarah said, helping her up.

"is this what girls usually do with their dolls?" benny asked as the four teens stood at janes door frame, watching debbie and jane rip apart fabric.

"you don't do this with yours?" sarah joked. blair laughed and gave sarah a low five.

"those are action figures." benny defended. "i'm sure they are bens, i'm sure they are." blair said.

"we have to get her alone." sarah whispered about the doll.

ethan thought for a moment before being struck with an idea.

"hey debbie! guess what? i just found a bunch of... things that girls say go with shoes!" ethan said.

"ooo! i love accessorizing!" debbie got up and followed the seer. benny and blair followed after them.

jane tried to, but sarah let her know it was bed time.

"right in here. go crazy!" ethan said, opening his bedroom door.

debbie walked in, "but i don't see any-"

ethan shut the door immediately. he grabbed a rope and tied his door knob to the one next to it so debbie couldn't escape.

"hey let me out! i want to play!" debbie said, banging on the door, "you three are real party poopers!"

"what about the window?" blair asked.

"we're on the second floor, it's not like she can fly!" ethan said.

"jane's out like a light." sarah said, walking into the kitchen as blair, benny, and ethan were cleaning.

"great! now we just have to convince her she dreamed the whole thing." ethan said. just then, the door opened.

"hello, we're home" ethan's dads voice sounded.

"my parents! can you go stall them, now?" ethan said urgently.

sarah nodded and rushed over to them.

ethan, benny, and blair began rushing to clean the kitchen faster.

"think her batteries have run out by now?" benny asked as the trio walked towards ethans room.

"probably but we should still-" ethan stopped as they all saw the rope that kept debbie closed in on the floor.

the three ran to ethans room and saw that debbie was gone.

"is it too much to hope that she ran out of juice climbing out the window and maybe fell into the compost?" benny asked.

"guys.." blair said. she was staring at ethan's bed, where there were two dolls that looked exactly like ethan's parents.

"whats wrong?" benny asked. ethan gasped.

ethan grabbed the dolls and held them up. "mom? dad?" ethan squeaked.

"i'd say she's now running on a full charge." benny said.

"i hope that's your good news face." ethan said as he walked up to blair and benny.

"i'm 99.9% percent sure that i found the right spell." benny said.

ethan nodded in relief. "benny, you forgot something crucial." blair said.

"i was getting to that! okay so the thing is, i can't be sure how jane pronounced it. she has to cast the reversal spell herself." benny said.

"wonderful. and my parents?" ethan asked.

"they should revert back to normal once the spell's been reversed." benny said.

"good. then all we have to do is find a life sized killer fashion doll and bring her down." ethan said, "no problem."

"have you talked to rory?" ethan asked. the name made blair whip her head towards ethan.

"yeah, he sent me a text saying he was busy hanging out with his new girlfriend." benny said.

blair furrowed her eyebrows. hearing that rory had a girlfriend did not make her feel good at all. in fact, hearing that made blair want to go home and scream into her pillow.

"oh, he's mad that we didn't let him in" ethan said. "or he actually has a girlfriend." benny said, which made the two laugh. blair rolled her eyes.

"so it's settled. you guys will kick debbie's sorry plastic butt." benny said to blair and sarah.

"what no we never said that!" sarah said.

"come on! she's got rory wrapped around her little finger." ethan said, causing blair to roll her eyes. "can't believe he got a girlfriend before me." benny said.

"it doesn't even count! she's not real!" blair snapped. everyone turned to look at blair, confused by her outburst. sarah smirked because she knew it was only a matter of time before blair realized her true feelings for rory.

"we have to find a way to split them up," ethan said. "or someone." sarah said, looking at blair.

"no!" blair said. "as much as i don't like the idea either, it's like, our only option right now!" benny said. "come on blair, you know you want to!" sarah wiggled her eyebrows.

"what does that mean?" ethan said. "it means, we all know that blair and rory like each other! blair is like the only person he might be convinced by!" sarah said.

"i'd rather not hear about my sisters love life!" benny said. "yeah and it's not like blair actually likes him... do you like him blair?" ethan asked hesitantly.

"i don't like him and he doesn't like me!" blair said, "and besides. even if he did, we're kind of.. fighting.. right now. there's no way he'll go for it!"

"it's our only hope!" sarah tried. blair threw her head back with a sigh. "fine." the blue eyed girl said in an exasperated tone.

blair turned the corner to see rory fidgeting with debbie's hand. rory used to do that to blair. it just made blair want to smack the stupid doll around.

blair put on a fake smile and walked up to rory. the plan was to ask him on a date to get him to drop debbie, but blair decided to do things her way. no matter how much rory liked blair, he wouldn't go for a date with her after everything, especially that call.

"hey rory." blair asked. she was nervous, which was the last thing she expected.

"hi." rory said without even sparing her a glance. that hurt a lot more than she anticipated.

"so, i know that when we last talked, it was kind of bad, but i'm sorry. we can talk now if you want?" blair said in a hopeful tone.

"nah, i don't think so." rory said. he looked at her and the look on her face made his heart drop. see, the whole reason rory was even 'dating' debbie was to make blair jealous. he figured that maybe it would make blair realize she liked him, if that feeling was there at all. he didn't do this to hurt her, so he immediately regretted his decisions when he saw the look on her face.

"oh." blair said, "i guess i'll leave you and your little girlfriend here alone then." she walked into the washroom to get away from rory as fast as she could.

that was humiliating. blair couldn't understand why she felt the was she did. could sarah be right? blair was conflicted. on one hand, she really liked ethan. she couldn't stand to see him get all blushy over sarah. but, on the other hand, it felt like rory had taken her heart and stomped on it.

blair felt her face get wet and she looked up at herself in the mirror to see tears fall down her face. she was mad at herself for feeling this way when it was her fault in the first place.

suddenly, she heard the door open and saw debbie walk into the girls washroom. blair turned around and hissed at the doll. debbie smiled sweetly and walked up to blair. she could tell it was fake. "get close to me and i'll make sure you can't use that mouth to sweet talk your way into peoples hearts again." blair hissed. her eyes shown yellow.

"i'm sorry if i hurt you blair, i won't do it again." debbie smiled evily and grabbed blair by the neck, backing her up into the wall.

then everything went dark.

blair woke up in jane's bed... for whatever reason. "ugh my head." she got up and passed ethan's parents in the hall. "guys, what. happened." blair said as she walked into ethan's room.

"blair!" benny said, rushing to hug her. blair hugged him back in a confused state. "you were turned into a doll; i found you in the girls washroom." sarah said.

"ohh. ethan why are you dressed like dazzle dan?" blair giggled. "because!- wait how do you know who that is?" ethan asked. "jane and i play with her dolls from time to time!"

later on, the whole friend group was at ethan's house, in his room specifically, to have a 'dance party'.

blair was sat next to erica. the blue eyed brunette was fiddling with her fingers, lost in thought. she could feel rory's eyes staring at her. she desperately wanted to talk to him but couldn't muster up the courage to do so.

"less talking, more dancing!" jane said. "come on guys we promised." sarah said.

"party at the disco beach!" jane said. blair sighed and got up.

"sorry jane, i think i'm gonna go home. i don't feel great." blair said. "do you want me to go with you?" benny was feeling a bit overprotective after she was turned into a doll. turns out, he does care!

"no that's okay, you can stay bens." blair said. "bye guys."

"bye blair" ethan said. rory watched her leave. he was conflicted. he wanted to go talk to her, but he was nervous. usually rory wasn't afraid to do anything, but he tended to think about his actions more when he was with blair. he decided he should give her space when sarah whispered, "go talk to her. she wants you to."

"you think?" rory asked. "i know." sarah put her thumbs up. rory sped out of ethans room to catch up to her.

ethan wondered why sarah was talking to the blond boy but it didn't take a genius to know after he saw rory zoom out. ethan was genuinely annoyed and he didn't like that he felt that way.

"blair! wait!" rory said. blair was walking at a normal human speed so he didn't have to go very far to catch up with her.

"rory?" blair turned around.

"hey." rory said, going silent. he hadn't thought this far into how he would go about talking to her. seeing as he seemed to be stunned, blair decided to speak.

"rory. i'm sorry if i hurt you. i don't know what i did-" rory cut her off. "no no! you didn't do anything wrong! i'm sorry. i shouldn't have iced you out like that. you don't deserve to be treated like that. it wasn't fair." rory said.

blair was shocked. she didn't expect him to say that. it made her feel all warm inside. "it's okay. i was never mad at you. just confused. and maybe a little hurt. but i got over it!" blair said, which made them both chortle.

"and, just to get it out of my head, sarah said something about you maybe sort of liking me? i don't know if it's true-"

"what! me like you? no no no no! i don't like you! how could she say such a thing!" rory said a little too dramatically before he realized how that sounded, "not that it would be a bad thing! you're gorgeous! any guy would be lucky to have you-" rory was cut off.

"rory! it's okay! i understand!" blair chuckled, but deep down she was a little disappointed to hear that he really doesn't like her. a part of her deep down was hoping that maybe he did. it wrong of her to feel that way.

"look rory, i care about you a lot. you are one of the people in my life that i can't lose. so please don't do something like that again." blair said. "you have my word." rory put his hand on his heart.

"so, are we friends again?" rory asked. even if it pained him to be just friends with her, he'd rather have her as a friend than not have her at all.

"we always were rory." blair said, hugging the taller boy.

So if Lee and Gai both canonically have issues using ninjutsu/genjutsu (yes, Gai too, in the 4th war there’s a Backstory Arc showing Gai having the same issues Lee does as a boy) *and* they are both extremely active/durable/borderline hyper, does that mean their problem isn’t necessarily anything with their chakra coils/gates but rather their personal mix of Yin-Yang chakras? Because we see they can do basic chakra stuff like water and wall walking, and Gai can summon a tortoise which requires using a lot of chakra to do so (but, I will note, not as much precision, as seen with Naruto who can do it even though he canonically has the chakra control of a raging bull).

Yin chakra is the one used for stuff like genjutsu and the nara clan shadow jutsu which requires a lot of imagination and also *flexibility*, while the yang release jutsu listed on the wiki are predominantly physical enhancing stuff like the Akimichi bullet tank and expansion jutsus.

So like.

What if their problem isn’t any kind of “problem” with their coils, it’s just that they literally have too much Yang chakra and (comparatively) not enough Yin, and since Yang is more- Physical Body Enhancement type chakra, it just doesn’t *want* to be moved and used for the more fine tuned stuff like genjutsu or the more balanced stuff like ninjutsu and it’s elements. It basically gets *stuck* in their bodies, stubbornly sticking inside their chakra channels like glue and not wanting to be projected outside themselves unless they crack open a few chakra gates and the sheer flood of energy forces it to.

It would explain both their sheer levels of Energy™ and how neither of them have dropped dead from their supernatural exercise routines. They’ve got so much Yang chakra rattling around that they basically can’t *Die* from their own stupid, but because that Yang chakra is so abundant it kinda smothers out the Yin chakra and makes it very hard for them to use it for other stuff.

Just.

Some random thoughts I had for Lee and Gai is all. Since if Kishi isn’t gonna worldbuild anything beyond contradictory basics I might as well logic out some stuff on my own.

Well, I just feel the need to write this. This post will focus on Jiraiya's entry into the Hidden Rain arc.

Many believe that Jiraiya died as a hero, and in general - I agree with this, but only from the point of view of a Konoha shinobi.

So, Jiraiya illegally penetrates into a foreign country, into a foreign military settlement, as a spy, seeking to declassify state secrets. Later, he learns that Pain, the new leader of the country, is perceived by citizens as a savior, a deity. At the same time, Jiraiya himself participated in the Second Shinobi World War, the main fighting of which took place in the Land of Rain.

It turns out that Konoha again sends his hired soldier to this small country in order to deprive her of a leader who is able to protect her in the future.

Moreover, Jiraiya tortures one of the shinobi there, sending him to Konoha to Ibiki, the master of torture, and not to Inoichi, who can simply get into a person’s mind and get all the necessary information faster and much more reliably. Of course, we, the viewers, are shown torture in a comical style, but the torture used by Jiraiya is considered quite cruel. After that, he receives rather vague information through threats, and uses the shinobi as a human shield, as a result of which he almost dies.

And then, as for me, the most interesting follows. So, the rubric of moralizing from Jiraiya.

It's funny that Jiraiya considers himself in the right to present something to Nagato, regarding which path he chose, unpleasantly surprised that he has changed and began to consider himself a deity.

Jiraiya dear, didn't you hammer the idea of ​​Nagato's chosenness into your head at a young, tender age? Didn't you tell him that he was the reincarnation of the Sage of the Six Paths? So why be surprised? Nagato grew up in terrible conditions, his whole life is hell, no wonder he has changed. Nagato's thoughts like that are Jiraiya's fault as a teacher (of course, social factors also played a role, I don't deny it).

And to me, this is a good indication of how Jiraiya trained the Rain trinity. Obviously, there was favoritism combined with high demands, as a result of which Nagato became a hyper-controlling perfectionist who did not receive love, which is why he calls himself a god - at least somehow wanting to compensate for childhood trauma (after all, only being a god does he receive approval and love) . And at the same time, Nagato remained a socially unadapted and distrustful person, and Yahiko - impulsive and extremely naive. It's safe to say that as a sensei (at least with those three) he failed.

So Jiraiya himself says the world is cruel. And at the same time, he vehemently denies Nagato's plans, which are quite logical (MAD, hello), accusing him of not being able to "rise above the pain" and other naive nonsense. Well, I think Jiraiya is more mad at Nagato for not living up to his expectations (note Jiraiya still loves Nagato - he smiles when he tells Fukasaku about Nagato being his student, he's clearly proud of it; also he claims that he almost believed that it was Nagato who was the "child from the prophecy"), and therefore simply is not able to think sensibly, and, of course, the general rigidity and extreme conservatism of the mind, inability to progress and develop, affects.

But you should understand: in this situation, the victim is Nagato.

Of course, we all have the right to make mistakes, we are just people, however, in this case we are talking about human life. Jiraiya's attitude towards Nagato is similar to Orochimaru's attitude towards his lab rats - "Didn't live up to my expectations? Didn't do exactly what I want? Well, I'll go look for new rats, and I'll kill you." As if Pain is his property, whose life he can dispose of as he wants, against all odds. Probably Jiraiya's ego is playing, because Nagato is a matter of personal pride for him.

The sad fate of a beloved student of the sensei with great ambitions, but not so great intellect. Just think about it: Nagato's only hobby is ninjutsu training, which means he doesn't really take much time off, wanting to perfect everything.

As I said, Nagato is a victim of Jiraiya, or rather, his ambitions. However, in this arc, Nagato is victimized for the second time, and Hidden Rain for the third (at least). After all, again: Jiraiya is a spy, a saboteur, he tortured a person, encroached on the safety of the state. secrets of another state, made an attempt on the life of the head of state, put the assistant to the head of state in a dangerous position. And as a result of this, Pain attacks Konoha not only as the leader of the Akatsuki, but also as the head of the Hidden Rain.

And the saddest thing is that many people hate Pain because he killed a spy who threatens the people of Ame, who adores Nagato, believes in him, respects him.

Probably, Kishimoto forgot that patriotism is not only a trait of Hidden Leaf shinobi, but most of the viewers.

Papa Meowth AU: Humans With Pokemon Powers

So obviously we already know that in canon there are people who have the ability to use Pokemon moves-heck, Ash is one of them. Well in the Papa Meowth AU (as well as other Pokemon stories I come up with) I’m expanding it to include all the different types.

Fighting and Normal- Aura Manipulators, with the Aura Guardians as the most well known group associated with the ability. While it’s fallen into obscurity, almost everyone has the potential to use at least a little aura since it’s literally life force, which is why someone can get hit by a hyper beam and only get thrown back instead of vaporized. It’s also the most versatile of the bunch, since if you know what you’re doing you can modify the properties of the projected Aura and learn moves from other Types.

Psychic- Psychics, obviously. In modern day it’s the most widespread and well-known out of all of them.

Ghost- Witches. It’s more-or-less the only one that can’t be used directly by humans, since they’re still alive. Instead, they utilize potions and rituals that produce various effects. It’s mainly centered around the idea of sacrifice, namely the sacrifice of materials, time or effort in the case of the more ethically sound methods, though there are...other paths.

Dark and Poison- Ninja, though these days it’s extremely rare to encounter one that can pull off actual moves instead of just conventional Ninjutsu.

Dragon- Dragon Tamers/Riders. Like with Ninjas not many modern tamers or riders can pull off moves on their own, but there are quite a few who can understand Dragon Types, either Empathically or through straight-up translation.

Grass- Druids and Acolytes of Celibi. The latter are also able to learn time manipulation, though usually only clairvoyance and reading the past of an area or object.

Ground, Rock and Steel- Earthshapers, which were wiped out almost entirely by the King of Pokelantis during his attempts to control Ho-oh and take over the world. When they were still around the majority of them tended to specialize in one or two of the relevant types, but the most powerful could use all three.

Fire- If there was ever a specific group for it, it’s been lost to history. Currently anyone with an affinity for fire is either focused on a specific species (like Laramie Ranch and the Charific Valley) or absorbed into the Dragon clans.

Fairy- Mages. A bit like Witches, but since they’re not using magic based on death they can actually use it directly, which makes things get...Weird.

Water and Ice- There’s never been any specific group, mainly just sailors who have more sea in their blood than they think, hikers who can go higher and longer than normal, and Gym Leaders who are just a bit too in their element. It’s a very subtle sort of power.

Electric, Bug and Flying. The ones I’ve got nothing for. I would assume that there are people who can use these types of moves but I have no idea what kind of groups there’d be for them.

Shadow- Just like Pokemon, powered humans can have their energy corrupted by pain and brainwashing, and it ain’t pretty.

[implies yamada is an assassination specialist as heavily as possible without outright saying it] yeah she’s very very very good at getting in and out of places unseen unheard and otherwise undetected. elevates an otherwise Okay skillset (not being able to manage most elemental release jutsu nerfed her hard and she’s up to field chuunin standard but not higher in direct combat in general) into a potential special jounin if she bothered. she’s hyper aware of her own chakra basically for um reasons djjdjd blending in with the environment makes her a tricky opponent to catch in the act. reason she got put into a team with sakumo and tabata even if it was a sham.

she prefers coasting on her so-so medical ninjutsu though. she was scouted for anbu (tabata got scouted around the same time) and (obviously) turned it down.

Gaara Week! Day One: Reflection

It was strange watching the two of them dancing in those familiar motions that the Kazekage himself had once been all too familiar with. The red haired man watching from a distance, arms crossed in his usual posture, took in the sight in front of him with a half turned smile of pride. His adoptive son, Shinki was not alone on the field however. Sparring alongside the boy was another genin who looked all too familiar to the other village leader standing beside him. Boruto Uzumaki and Shinki continued their match, the two attempting to get to know each other a little bit better as the relationship between the Leaf and the Sand continued to grow stronger and stronger. 

It was strange to watch them in a way. How different things could have been if the timing had only been a little bit different, only a little less cruel to them. Naruto, Hokage of the Leaf and father to Boruto gave the stoic Kazekage a brief tap of the shoulder to rouse the other’s attention. The blonde couldn’t help but laugh, offering an almost trademark smile towards his friend as Gaara returned his gaze. “Remind you of anybody?” And yes, it certainly did. He had to admit to himself that it did look almost silly with Boruto exhausting almost all facets of his taijutsu and ninjutsu repertoire without Shinki so much as having to move a muscle. It wasn’t any wonder why Gaara himself still wasn’t at all the best when it came to hand to hand combat.

The plucky, hyper, knuckleheaded blonde from the leaf against the calm, stoic, calculating boy from the sand. Alike in many ways, but very different in others. “It does. Though I believe this will be a much nicer memory.” Gaara was able to respond with a small smile of his own in return. This fight had no stakes. Nobody's honor, life or village was on the line. This was a sparring match between comrades. Between friends. This is a sight into what could have been. A much brighter past where hopefully their upbringings could have been different, or at least where Gaara and Naruto could have found some form of comfort in knowing that their two similar stories would reach a crossroads sooner rather than later. 

Though, reflecting back on those thoughts. Gaara now as a father was able to take those negative thoughts of his past and change them into positive outlooks for his future. For Shinki’s growth. The Kazekage took solace in the fact that with him and people like Boruto and his father around, Shinki would never have to live through the same pain that Gaara himself had almost lost himself to all those years ago. The cycle of pain and hatred would become one step closer to ending. A cycle that Gaara and Naruto had vowed to stop when they became the leaders of their respective villages. 

Watching the two was a moment of storytelling. The future and the past standing together in solidarity as teammates and friends. “Alright you two! Let’s call it a day!” The blonde called over at the two, the younger genin quickly turning their attention back to their fathers. The two were still somewhat awkward around their fathers; Shinki being far too formal, almost professional, and Boruto not quite sure how to feel about Naruto. Though if there was one thing the Hokage was good at, it was easing tension and continuing to build bridges. “You two have done plenty of work for a day off! Come on, I’ll get us dinner!” The Hokage called, him and his son marching to what even Gaara could recognize was the direction of Ichiraku. “I think that’s a fine idea.” Gaara agreed, slightly less hesitantly now resting his hand on his son’s head in a show of pride. Not ever the best with words, but neither was Shinki. Their love didn’t always have to be vocal. “You did good Shinki.” The redhead muses. “Enjoy yourself.”
