A little 15 min doodle but first post of the year has to be Bingqiu!

#hoot art #ok its time to get mushy in the tags because I doubt anyone would read them too closely #I’ve had severe art block for YEARS before I got into danmei in 2024 #and it wasn’t that my skill was gone it’s just that I thought nothing I did was good enough #I started reading danmei around the summer of last year and I got SO INSPIRED #I dived into the fandom side of things (I haven’t been in a live fandom in years) and was so excited about all the art people were making #and writing! and music! and animatics!#everything was so bright and colorful and beautiful #and everyone had such cool designs for these book characters that I’d grown to love #so I took a chance and doodled a little Luo Binghe and posted him on here #and I was so taken aback by how welcoming and sweet the fandom was #it made me wanna keep taking chances and posting my art— because I think that’s one of the hardest things I’ve come to accept #that even if it’s not good enough for me #someone else may enjoy it #and ain’t it crazy that ive come to enjoy drawing again too #sure the interaction has been fun but it’s been even more fun experimenting with my style and experimenting with colors and rendering #and grayscale and angles #and composition and expressions #ahh!! art is so fun!! #IM---#WHY IS HE GOING SIDE TO SIDE #BROTHER PLEASE WALK STRAIGHT #shouldve made this wwx or something #ok so i found an alternative route to get this shit in 10 minutes #whereas the other path took me a week and it still works less than this #so first take the vrm make a copy and turn the copy into a glb. just change the extension name. then import it to blender #then generate an fbx with or without textures nobody gives a shit just do it #get the animations on that and then import back the skeleton to blender #then on your static model you will want an animation track so literally go into pose mode pick a bone and then add a keyframe #then go ahead delete it. you just wanted a blank animation track #then rename the imported skellys and then push down the animations to make them actions #then add the actions to this model by going to the NLA and just. adding the actions.#thats how to get to this point. idk why hes swaying and how to fix that. im gonna go mess with that now #once this works i can fulfill my dream and i can start mocapping myself with a whip #ive been mocapped before ive never done it myself tho #ive always been a minor antagonist in every game ive been in #is there something about my face?#forgot to mention. this fixes the glb file geometry rendering export issue. now i can use glb again #which means i can put this shit on neocities #edit: I found the issue. DO NOT adjust the skeletons and absolutely do NOT EVER transform all while importing #this is my guide to myself because I will forget and then get screwed so bad #edit edit: do not import glb using the default setting on blender. use the middle setting. idk what it says but thats the one.#use the one with cones not balls

you know me, i'm incredibly klapollopilled, of course i'm drawing these two suckers for the wedding zine! <3 something about klapollo marriage makes me incredibly emo so i'm very glad for the opportunity to go all out so i can be EXTRA emo about it 😈

if i remember right, i think this idea came to be when i thought about the image of klavier bursting into tears as he lifts up apollo's veil and it all went from there LOL (also so psyched i get to draw him in a barong tagalog <333)

everything got so much more ambitious, though, from that initial idea! i drew like what (i am counting the number of characters in the spread right now as i type) 40-ISH CHARACTERS ALL IN ALL?! (WHAT THE FUCKDFGDHJ) and i even had to cut out some of the characters i originally had in the sketch 😭 (sorry gumshoe, kay, and seb/eustace ....)

i drew this like a year ago and i'm still so proud of this piece! i don't think i can achieve this level of rendering again, it's been so long i forgot how to do it LMAO

(also i can never reopen the file for this thing again bc it makes clip studio want to dieeeee DFSGHDJ so many layers ...)

another thing, i was working on this in tandem with my piece for the mea culpa zine; do you know how funny it is to draw apollo having such a happy moment and then draw him dying 😭 the contrast, the whiplash
