‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Linden sat quietly on the weathered bench tucked beneath the old oak tree, cradling a small bundle of fluff so soft and round it could’ve easily been mistaken for a pillow, or one of those plush toys people tucked on guest beds for charm. The rabbit had hopped up tentatively a few moments ago, paws barely making a sound on the worn wood, and after a long pause filled with nothing but the breeze and birdsong, it had decided Linden was safe enough.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ They moved slowly, reverently, fingers stroking the soft fur along the rabbit’s back. Their voice was barely more than a breath, low and comforting, full of murmured reassurances and sweet little nothings that didn’t need to make sense to matter. “There you go,” they whispered, thumb tracing a delicate circle behind one velvety ear. “S’alright. You’re safe here. Just a bit of sun and a quiet place, yeah?” The rabbit twitched but didn’t bolt. That, Linden took as a win. When they heard a crunch against the pavement, their eyes flickered toward the other. “This your little fella? Sure is friendly.”

I'm knitting in the corner at a party

and guys my age stop by to tell me I remind them of their aunt, of their grandmother. This is a compliment and I take it as such. They confess to having tried crochet once, and I smile. They get back in line for the bathroom.

I'm knitting in the corner at a party and a queer woman sits on the floor next to me, arranges her skirt, and smiles up at me. (I try not to blush.) She asks me all the questions on her mind about my craft and I answer them, hands still moving. We swap yarn sources. She doesn't stay, but she knows where to find me.

They pretend to be checking in on me, which is sweet, but I can see the relief in their eyes the moment they stop performing for a house full of people. The party has wound down and I'm still knitting and the hosts, two guys in their twenties, thank me for "helping to curate the vibe." I had no idea that's what I was doing. I leave the party having forgotten to drink anything and without that woman's number but with many rows added to my top-down raglan sweater. I call it a night, and a good one.

So. I don't mean to offend anybody but Rachel Zegler is courageous and brave in a way that I'm not sure I would be at 23 years old with my career on the line. She tweeted 'Free Palestine' on her personal account and now she is being blamed/made the scapegoat for why the Snow White movie is not doing as well as Disney predicted.

For context: Gal Gadot (of "let's sing 'Imagine' to healthworkers-fame and 'I'm proud to have served in the 1DF' fame) plays the evil Queen.

Also for context: the producer, Marc Platt, flew across the country to reprimand a 23 year old for making said tweet. He asked her to delete it. She did not. Now Marc's son has taken to social media to "expose" Rachel's selfishness. They strongly believe her tweet is hurting the box office and jobs. The movie is done. There are no more jobs or employment. Producers get a cut from box office earnings. So all they really had to say was, "Rachel's tweet is costing my father and my family money! Take it down!"

Anyways. She didn't. And hasn't.

Good for her. The absolute balls of steel tbh.
