No... How can this be?
Daddy’s favorite wine sippy cup...
Now I’m going to have to drink it out of the box like a fucking animal!
You’ve taken everything from me, Machine.
And now we’re going to get drunk together.
That’s right, the only way to repay me for your sins and the breaking of my favorite wine glass, is to finish off this box of wine with me!
And we’re going to have conversations that we think are deep only because we're drunk off our asses.
And by dawn's light, who knows, maybe enemies will be turned into…
EVEN STRONGER FUCKING ENEMIES I’M GOING TO KILL YOU.

I always find it upsetting that there isn't very much crossover content between ULTRAKILL and Murder Drones. I don't mean in the sense of them fighting each other, either.
I mean, sure, it would be really cool to watch V1 fight N, V, or Uzi but imagine them just... interacting.
I mean, we know that V1 has at least SOME sentience outside of its hunt for fuel. All of the machines in ULTRAKILL do, to some extent. I think it would be neat to see how V1's intelligence would interact with that of a Disassembly Drone or a Worker Drone.
V1 was designed to be a weapon. They were made during a time of war, after all. Not only that, it's heavily implied that V1 was the machine designed to END the war. V1 was made to destroy fucking EARTHMOVERS for God's sake, it had to have been intended to be a last charge.
That is the difference between Machines from ULTRAKILL and the robots/drones from MD. Drones, whether Worker or Disassembly, were designed with intended sentience and human-like behavior. They have expressive faces, they have humanoid bodies, they have emotions that obviously seem to be an intended feature considering the previously mentioned expressiveness. A Machine from ULTRAKILL, though, gained that sentience from their fuel source.
In the lore of ULTRAKILL, blood is the fuel of all life. All living things run on blood, and all living things bleed. Machines from ULTRAKILL have both these characteristics, and are therefore alive. This is not only a technical thing, there's evidence of Machines being sentient. The Gutterman's poem, Mindflayers and the Swordsmachine both caring about their appearance and partaking in body modification, Mindflayers specifically being stated to make a body FROM SCRATCH and being so upset when it's damaged that they fucking SELF DESTRUCT. This isn't even mentioning the fact the Swordsmachine is a type of celebrity, so much so that he has admirers that copy his form, that being the red and blue Swordsmachines, named Agony and Tundra respectively. This also means that Agony and Tundra CHOSE names so they could be unique. Even V2 shows this sentience in the form of getting enraged when she is hit with the Knuckleblaster, the arm that V2 stole. The Earthmovers even show some sentience, as they are tragically stated to have reached for heaven while shutting down, like they were asking for help from the God that was no longer there. Even the Terminals with them creating the style meter and with them cheering or booing you while in the Cybergrind.
Even V1, despite being the player's vessel and having no ways to obviously display a personality or intelligence, has actions or traits that could imply it. Taking the arms from V2, the line of text "You're not getting away this time." When V2 runs away during the 2nd fight. This meaning V1 probably intended to kill V2 back in Limbo and was salty about V2 running away again. This is interesting though, because despite V1 showing signs of being upset when V2 runs away, they don't kill Gabriel after either encounter. You could easily prescribe this to "Well Gabriel can't continue the plot if he's dead." but it is pretty strange that V1 acts upset when V2 runs away again, triggering a chase, but let's Gabriel leave both times without complaints. Not to mention the fact that when V1 reads books, they tend to mostly focus on text involving Gabriel, deeming that "The rest of the text is irrelevant". (Also the thing of calling skeletons Hank for some reason? Who tf is Hank, Hakita? Is he a real guy that V1 knew or is this a show of creativity of V1's part?)
Do you think the machines of ULTRAKILL would be envious? Envious that these little drones get to have freewill? That they were designed with intelligence and the ability to express it? Would a Mindflayer be jealous of the pre-built feminine forms of V or J? Would V2 be jealous of the Disassembly Drones and their ability to regenerate? As they never have to scavenge for parts in order to have two working arms? Would V1 be jealous of the voiceboxes the Drones have? Because they are organic sounding and fluid? (We are assuming here that V1 has the SAMS system voice they are commonly portrayed as having.)
Most of all, would a Machine be jealous of the abundance of resources the Drones have? That they don't have to explore the deepest pits of Hell, leaving behind a war-ravenged wasteland that was once Earth? That they can have society instead of constant war? That even though some Drones have to consume oil to live, that it can be consumed anytime? That they don't have to fear for when the fresh stuff runs dry? Would a Machine harbor hatred that these Drones have been blessed by humans with their intelligence, while it had been cursed unintentionally?
And especially, what would the Drones think. What would they think of these barbaric creatures? What would they think when the steel is cut and they see the pulsing flesh and blood underneath? What would they think of the cold optic of V1 or V2, knowing that there is a thinking and feeling mind behind it. Would they think of them as monsters? Beasts? Demons? Or would it be similar to a human seeing an alien? Unfamiliar and frightening, especially when they show the ability to communicate.
Or, you know, you could have V1 explaining how an ULTRARICOSHOT works to Uzi and effectively making her railcannon more dangerous, that works too.

Dude. Swordsmachine and V2 driving me crazy frequently. The dynamic. The DYNAMIC I cannot explain but sometimes I lay down and just get so excited over them existing in my mind as I put them through the horrors together and yet I have nothing to show. No fics despite having written three v4v fics (though I don’t count two of them) no art because I’m not great with drawing robots. I can’t even explain why I like them I just do and it drives me mad. Ship with an entire like five fans I think. They just. Hooooooough
Since I truly do doubt I’ll ever finish it (writer’s block, hyperfixation shift meaning Ultrakill is secondary rn) I keep thinking of V2 finding Swordsmachine on the brink of death post V1 and fixing him out of spite and perhaps a little bit of empathy they really don’t want to acknowledge and the favor being returned after V1 nearly kills them. I don’t know where this would go I don’t know what the plot is but they haunt me and mock me and it drives me MAD.
This is that swordsv2 anon from a while back if anyone cares

reading the star excerpt (link here)
i quite like the prologue. i like curlfeather taunting splashtail, i like his insecurity being exacerbated. i think it actually hammers in how young and out of his depth he is
which....sucks the rest of the books portray him as this manipulative mastermind. he's much more fun of a villain when you can see him scrambling for power (and losing it)
which makes the whole riverclan as poor victims kind of suck. icewing rightfully calls out her clanmates for being cowards for uh- *checks notes* using mothwing as target practice?? sorry we're going over the top evil i see. anyways, my point is....yeah, riverclan IS complicit in this, they DO have a choice to say no. splashtail doesn't even have enforcers like brokenstar and tigerstar did, it's literally just one guy - heck the warriors themselves are the enforcers.
fear becomes a limp excuse at this point. you guys gotta unionize or something.
i think the book is really struggling to make splashtail's NO MISS OHKO X9999 ULTRAKILL ATTACK an actual credible attack. look i get it they think he has nine lives, but the three of them could take on a teen i believe it.
i think because this arc won't acknowledge that riverclan is complicit in letting this fester, that they wanted this kind of leadership, it makes him fall flat. how much scarier would it be, more gray it would be, difficult, and so and so on if the clan rallied behind their leader because of the prior events? i get it, they're playing into the fear angle, but there NEEDS to be some more willing participants or this doesn't work.
the closest we get is this exchange but like. guys. the gathering exchange was stupid as hell.
Tumblr media
also, you'd think every brit was the worst dog owner in the world LMAO these boys are screaming and straining on their leash while the owners chatting away. every dog in brit is some cat mauling beast i guess.
i was so ready for repetitive "why should we do X??" let's fight about it for the next few pages that it was a fucking relief that cloverfoot was just "yep bring them in!". fucking uh flashbacks from bramblestar's leadership lmao
Tumblr media
the phrasing on this made me snick. "behaved so badly" makes it sound like she was kind of unruly, not plotted to overthrow her leader lmao
Tumblr media
i dont wanna nitpick, i am actually enjoying that the plot is moving and that things are happening but like....minor waste of a shadowclan pov. you'd think with how often they like to make references to past events, sunbeam being a shadowclan cat could absolutely come in handy in this situation (considering they once had nightheart explain shadowclan history to a shadowclan cat) but when she wonders if riverclan can ever repair itself, it really doesn't come up. idk, i guess i think she could've had a more optimistic perspective but ultimately it really isn't the biggest of deals.
uh oh guys something ELSE happened?? wanna know what happens??? well go buy IVYPOOL'S HEART ONLY FOR 25.99 AVAILABLE NOW AT RETAIL OUTLETS CLOSEST TO YOU. BUY NOW BUY NOW BUY NOW BUY NOW. DON'T YOU WANNA KNOW WHERE ICEWING IS GOING???? OOOH BUY OUR BOOKS!
Oooh the Gathering trap is actually good, ignoring how a lot of them get thrown the idiot ball a little bit to make it work. I figured it out quickly (even though this arc loves having shit happen offscreen), it's nice to see some trickery for once! only real drawback is the books once again going "what did splashstar do to riverclan??" as if he's mind controlling them. I'm gonna actually hold out on hope that this is a set up to Frostpaw realizing her Clanmates haven't been mind controlled or whatever, they're doing this because they want to, because splashstar's ideals appeal to them after everything.
it probably won't happen but i wanna hold out hope.
tentatively interested! preparing for status quo disappointment!

just gonna ramble about some Ultrakill/Portal crossover thoughts don't mind me
(considering The End of All Known Land canon for these thoughts, i.e. a world where Gabriel and V1 are the only ones to get out of Hell)
Chell hates robots with all her soul and would try to fucking annihilate V1 if she thought they posed even a sliver of a threat but V1 would be so fucking excited at the prospect of another human. like obviously if they were still in a situation where they needed blood, they'd kill her without a second thought, but now? they're just FASCINATED by the question of "how did a human SURVIVE" and they want to know everything
V1 inner monologue: oh boy a new sparring partner!!! wow they have a cool new kind of gun I've never seen before!! that would've been soooo helpful back in hell. I wonder if that's how they escaped? and they're quiet just like me! I wonder if their organic voicebox is broken? or do they just not have one? can humans not have one?
GLaDOS would fucking despise Gabriel because he's sooooo full of himself. She doesn't even need to hear him say anything robot-racist, She's already decided She hates him and wants him dead. an "angel?" yeah, right. sounds just like another human ripe for the picking. let's see how high-and-mighty you are when you're in my TESTING DOMAIN! DO MY PUZZLES, BOY!!!
Gabriel is like wow this robot is stuck up and has some serious issues but also I am uncomfortable with how much of myself I see reflected in her. hmmmm. yeah I'll try your puzzle, tell me more about your deep-seated hatred of organics and particularly this one that keeps ruining the facility you run and is the only one to ever beat you in a fight. mhm. yeah so quick question have you ever thought about trying to fuck—
(EXPLOSION AND GUNFIRE)
meanwhile if Chell ever met Gabriel on the surface it'd make for such a good tense encounter. bc she is hiding behind a tree in full fight-or-flight mode wondering "how did another human SURVIVE" and also second question "how did they get such sickass wings and where can I get a pair?"
and then Gabriel noticing her would ALSO send him into fight-or-flight mode but only for a moment because of the pure shock of, again, "HOW DID A HUMAN SURVIVE" before curiosity completely overtakes him and he tries to talk to her. trying to get her to talk and not attack or run is like trying to coax a wild injured animal out of a hiding spot. but he eventually manages to earn the barest, most minimal amount of trust by setting down all his weapons and leaving offerings of food in front of her.
...this gets harder when she sees Gabriel and V1 together and registers that they're allies. she's unsure if they're plotting against her or if V1 is manipulating Gabriel. eventually she leans towards the latter and thinks her fears are confirmed when she witnesses them drawing Gabriel's blood while he's sleeping.
she tries to communicate this to him by drawing crude pictures on the ground and is VERY FRUSTRATED when he's like "omg can you not talk? that's ok!! V1 also can't talk but we make it work, they're really incredibly kind and patient and—"
Chell, internally: I AM GOING TO KILL THAT FUCKING ROBOT AND SAVE YOU
I think it would be funny for V1 to try and go urban exploring in Aperture. GLaDOS is initially all excited because a new testing robot literally fell right into Her clutches but then V1 proceeds to be the most stubborn, impudent, tenacious piece of shit and they remind her WAY TOO MUCH OF CHELL so now She's trying to kill them but they have ACTUAL FUCKING GUNS and Aperture is being destroyed in the wake of their battle
meanwhile V1 has decided they don't like this robot but also She makes fun tests. so they do puzzles until they get bored and then they blast holes through the wall and try to kill Her
something something Ultrakill is just Portal for NBs (everyone knows Portal is for women) and I'm so fascinated by the similar dynamics of the toxic yuri/toxic yaoi robot-and-human pairs. and I think they would mostly hate each other and I love that for them.
(also something something GLaDOS is too far gone, too corrupted in Her immortality, and too deep in denial for any possible healthy ending with Chell—it's just not possible. so seeing Gabriel and V1 in a healthy and loving relationship would make Her SO FUCKING MAD for reasons She can't articulate)

Hey there, it's me, I just finish watching the new pilot show of Glitch The Gaslight District, i wanted to know what your opinion of it, it's really good and i really like the character design, I'm very suprise Cyn from Murder Drones voice actor played as Mel and Gianni, the voice actor of a character from Ultrakill as The Breadhead. So, what's your opinion of the pilot?
Hello there 👋🥺
I watched the pilot at least three times now, so I think it's safe to say that it's a blast!
The voice acting is on-point in both the english and german version, but in the german version the voices are much clearer.
I really liked the worldbuilding, although it took me more than one rewatch to fully understand what was going on. Which I didn't mind, I actually appreciate that, I just hope it doesn't get as complicated as Murder Drones.
I really enjoyed the dynamics between the characters, especially between Mel and Ken. Their father daughter relationship was one of the many highlights of the pilot to me.
The soundtrack was amazing too! It really helped emerge into the world of the gaslight district.
The overall setting of people basically being in hell kind of reminded me of H*lluva Boss, but obviously way better executed.
Mel being some flavour of queer made me very happy, continuing the legacy of main character in a Glitch production who is most likely bisexual. (Pomni and Uzi) She is also a very multifaceted character, at least in my opinion. Her being very outgoing and wanting her dad to be proud of her is way better executed than with Uzi. A little bit of Pomni's personality does also shine through Mel. However, I don't really consider her the main character of the gaslight district. Yes, she's basically the driving force for the entire plot and she makes things happen, but she felt more like just a part of the other three smiling dead than someone who stands out. Whether that was intentional or not is something I don't know.
Ken as a character is probably the most interesting to me, since we got a few glimpses at his backstory. Breadhead and Mud were cool too though :)
The only thing I'm worried about is that they don't know where to go with the plot moving forward, after that happened with Murder Drones. Murder Drones is still my favourite Glitch show though, so I don't think that matters much when it comes to enjoying a show.
Overall, I would give the pilot an 8/10 :D

Wow i actually have enough rendered pieces to make an art summary this year. Just barely tho
Ramble below, also template ref
Oh god where do i even start. This is the part where i reflect on myself and do nothing about it afterwards.
In thems of topics, it's mostly just apex d2 and wf. I've never made my own world and characters because most ideas that i have the motivation to make into art comes from me playing the game. Maybe that's why I don't really treat a lot of my original character as "original characters", because they're still bound to a game instead of, you know, born out of the blue i guess.
I barely did render this year... I mean, not just this year of course. I think I slightly got the hang of it these two months? At least I kinda have a pipeline that I can follow and could tolerate / fix some of my mistakes in the later stages (e.g., picking wrong colors for flat color and wanna fix it during rendering etc.). It's... kinda like OOP? Decoupling code? I think it just comes down to opening a million layers and not feeling bad about it. Anyway I think one of my improvements comes from here.
Another improvement would be the speed of doing sketches and the complexity of the lineart I can handle (idk how to say that). I need to draw comics and there would be a lot of people in there, so even if I don't practice specifically I still need to draw some human figures. The complexity part is due to me getting into warframe just because of how fucking complicated they all are. Maybe instead of lineart complexity I should say I'm comfortable drawing somewhat complex characters now without my brain overloading and immediately giving up. Still haven't drawn BT though.
That's probably all the obvious improvements I can think of. I didn't read as many books as last year, but the two main books I read last year are for perspective and anatomy, which I do find very very useful. I still often go back to check some anatomy stuff this year, and with me spam drawing comics I think I can draw human figures better than before... if I only consider proportion that is. I think I have to redo anatomy all over again especially for the muscle part. Also probably should do more real human reference practice... Well, you can probably guess why I said that at the start.
I do think the reason why I do so little rendering is because I mostly do comics. Most of my ideas have a plot and my idea list is waaaaay too long to actually color the comics. And as I feel more comfortable drawing comics I fear more when I wanna do rendering because of the skill gap I have between the two subjects. Also most of you come for silly comics so why do I do full rendered pieces anyways... Yeah, after typing that sentence I do feel wrong thinking like that. But oh well, I guess I can't escape the curse of liking to see numbers go up.
Speaking of numbers, here's some of them. Good thing I don't have to deal with Tumblr API myself.
Tumblr media
That's... quite a lot of followers, for me. I mean I don't stay in only one fandom so I have no idea why most of you followed me. Also sorry to ultrakill fans I just don't draw a lot for that game but I see some of you liking a ton of ultrakill post and immediately follows me. Kinda felt that I baited you folks for following me tbh...
Also 3 of my top 5 posts (2234 > 1726 > 1641 > 1531 > 1321) are ultrakill and I only have 27 ultrakill art posts (a lot fewer than other games) so... um, maaaaybe you should consider unfollowing me to clean up your timeline...?
Aaand here are the note stats per month because I've already typed this much so why not just include literally everything in one post
Tumblr media
The only thing I can analyze is that the note and post number started to lose correlation due to how much ramble shitpost I have these months.
Okay that's it. I intended to make another art summary for the lineart / unrendered art pieces, but there's just too many to choose from and I don't think you can infer more from these given that the rendered pieces already has lineart in them. Mostly.

Literally I don't understand how the Ultrakill devs managed to make a game with a pretty bare minimum in plot/dialogue/characters and have it be the queerest-feeling piece of mainstream media I've consumed in what feels like forever
Like my other favorite video game ever is Mass Effect, and when I play the Mass Effect trilogy, games with plenty of gay romance and gay sex in it if you seek it out (don't get me wrong, it has its ups and downs with queer rep overall but overall I would consider it Pretty Good in the gay/lesbian/bi rep category) I'm like 'yaaay gay people :)))' and it makes me happy. None of the wlw romance options really appeal to me personally (though Garrus is a queer romance option to me bc you're banging an alien, no I will not elaborate) but it's like, a nice view of the future where homophobia doesn't exist and you can just be in lesbians with a blue not-really-woman and it's not a big deal. And I really love that! Makes me happy!
But then I play Ultrakill, which technically has 0 gay sex or romance in it (that we see. and even that could be argued but that's not the point here), and start emotionally foaming at the fucking mouth throwing up. Like both are Really Good but Something about Ultrakill just resonates so viscerally with me I think it altered my brain chemistry. I don't know what they put in this game that made it hit the exact resonant frequency of some queer freak part of my brain but it fuckin' did something. It just blows my mind how much Ultrakill managed to make me feel with (comparatively) so little compared to other media I enjoy (Mass Effect, Star Trek, etc). I got this game like 3 weeks ago thinking it would just be a fun shooter game where I play as a silly little robot guy, and instead since then I've made more art inspired by it in a shorter time than like? Anything I've ever played/watched/read before?? Did they put gay cocaine in here??????????
(I don't say this in an attempt to pit them against each other or even really compare them btw Mass Effect is still one of my absolute favorite games of all time and they're completely different genres with a completely different ethos behind their worldbuilding and character development)
But like. What the fuck. I don't know how I would explain to someone like my mother that whatever Ultrakill has going on feels gayer to me than like actual gay porn bc I feel like it makes me sound insane but also I'm right

before I completely log off until new years there's something I want to say about my lil passion project you may or may not know of, the Imago game
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it's still so conceptual right now but here's the jist of it
An evolutionary/life semi-permadeath sim, inspired by the diversity of life on our planet and games like Spore, Warframe, Kenshi, Rimworld. It focuses on gaining new adaptations and skills. You start off as a small caterpillar like creature, and you must consume until you're ready to find a human host and begin metamorphosis
You will encounter a new world with remnants of Earth entangled with it, as well as alien aspects, with enemies and allies (perhaps romantic interests!) that are just like you, and just as dangerous (or benign) as you. Your interactions with the world may leave an everlasting impact, or you maybe simply be a speck in existence. The choice is yours.
You may choose to develop an intergenerational hive mind and embrace the security of trying again with your own strain should an individual perish, or go your own seperate way, risking losing everything for higher reward. Either way, there will be a song that is yours, that will be unique to you and call out to others.
the artstyle of the game will be reminiscent of games like old PS game graphics Valheim and Ultrakill, with sharp angles and simple shapes, but a hint of detail with speculars and mood lighting, depending on the vision of your character.
the music system is meant to be dynamic, with an option to make your own tune should you find the adaptation for it. Various instruments and sounds are discovered alongside adaptations.
There are three major starting areas that will affect the game difficulty, Terrastial (Land), Aquatic (Water), or in Orbit
Major characters have adaptations that can only be obtained by either consumption or consummation, driving the player to follow storylines if they choose to be the best
There is NO way I can make this happen on my own. My skills are in visual arts such as illustration and perhaps a lil bit of real life modelling/sculpting, 2D texturing for game models. I have very little experience in 3D modeling or animation and rigging, my music skills are so rough, I'm kinda bad at writing any real outline of a plot, and my dialogue writing is okay but I have a very specific voice for it. So what I'm really making this post for is this, if this interests you, and you have skills in 3D modeling (perhaps Blockbench), music, sound design, voice acting, writing, coding, perhaps we could work together. I can't necessarily pay anyone as I'm scraping by on commissions, and I won't be against commissioning people for these roles when I can afford it, but I think it would be lovely to bounce ideas off someone.
It's very ambitious for one person, but it's something I want to bring to life. Hell, if I can make a cute proof of concept tamagotchi/dress up mini game I'd be ecstatic!

One single in-the-works Elden Ring comic is holding back an entire flood of Viktor Arcane posting and I’m afraid of the person I’ll become once I finish it. Just got done with the final line art so coloring is all that’s left
(Mind you my rendering process is an absolute bitch so it’s not even 50% done)
But like not to disrespect any of my other obsessions (Vergil DMC, Astarion BG3, Gabriel Ultrakill, Varre Elden Ring; hallowed be their names) no other fictional man has me shrieking like a fucking Nazgûl just by thinking of their character arc
Every molecule in my body goes nuclear when I think about the soon to be machine herald arc holy hell. I’ve rotating this man in a 3d space in my head since the first season 2 trailer came out
Like Viktors just a nice lil guy, frail no one pays attention to him, he’s sick but trying to fix it for himself and anyone else that was also afflicted
AND IM JUST SUPPOSED TO KNOW HE BECOMES *THAT*???? My brain is going supernova. If you follow my account and also take into account the aforementioned characters I love, I LOVE love antagonists, villains and mortally gray characters. To know my boy is gonna make himself a problem, if not a true and proper opp for the rest of the arcane cast, I could cry tears of joy. I will sell my soul to Fortiche if they actually go the villain route with him, nothing would be sweeter, the ambrosia of the gods couldn’t rival it. I want him to go WILD. I need the Jayce Viktor divorce arc in my veins NOW
Like if they make him out to be the twist villain of the entire plot and or the big bad I will never ever ever stop yapping about it
Also expect a full breakdown why Viktor means so much to me soon, I just need to collect my scattered thoughts

17 and 22 for homestucc, also i saw in ypour interests thing that you like ultrakill so ima YELL THAT THERES UPDATE HAKITA POSTED VIDEO ON HIS CHANNEL
ahhh ultra.kill. i need to get back into that game i haven't played the new update yet...thank you for reminding me
(for those who don't want to see me talking about home.stuck)
17 - there should be more of this type of fan content ... truly? i want people to attempt actually INTERESTING rewrites of home.stuck^2. because whenever they try it always banks off of the stupid OOC shit that the epilogues were putting down (as in, they still make dirk an entirely one dimensional villain or a cardboard cutout Evil Narcissist or saying He's Just Like Bro For Real), or worse, some strange yaoi demon takes over them and it becomes all about weird OOC dirk.jake (or some similar). if they really wanted hs.2 to be good they would turn ultimate dirk into a jobu tupaki type and get roxy involved. why is noone getting roxy involved. what's your problem. why does noone give a pirouetting downright gymnastic fuck about dirk and roxy's dynamic. it's because of mid yaoi, that's why...
(my selfish answer is that i want people to start doing dirk x terezi masc lesbian type stuff. i think that would be hilarious any way you slice it. and #parallels i guess)
22 - favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores ... i like the midnight crew. sorry. like even outside of their relevance to the main plot i just enjoy them conceptually. i wish for people to understand that they're four blokes who do fuckall and it's awesome
also i feel like people talk about classpecting really strangely. they kind of talk about classpects in a powerscaling way instead of their real purpose, which is an indicator of personality and later character arc. it's A Character Arc Thing in the story. enough talking about who is more powerful. i'm sick of it

for the ask game:
23: What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?
A have more than a couple.
First thing that comes to mind is a short little nightmares fic/character study thing that I’ve been wanting to make ever since I got into the franchise, just a character per chapter thing that looks through their eyes and analyzes how they see everyone else around them. I eventually drifted away from Little Nightmares (still love it, just in hibernation for now as other interests took priority, no doubt I’ll be obsessed with it again in the future (probably when the third game releases)) and by the time I was confident enough to even think about writing anything I was hyperfixated on other things but I still have the most basic outline and ideas somewhere in my notes. In all honesty it’s probably going to be the next thing I work on once I’m less busy with my current fic.
Second thing that comes to mind is a Rain World fic, the idea for which has been kicking around in my brain for like a year or so. It mostly runs with an old headcanon of mine about the Artificer being completely barred from ascension and would have her being reborn and reincarnated around the same time as the other campaigns, making the pilgrimage to Five Pebble’s can (to his utter confusion) every single incarnation.
Third thing is an Ultrakill Crack Fic I can only describe as “The Ultrabus Mod (Desert Bus in Ultrakill), the fanfic.” I have no other description for it. It came to me in a vision as I was delirious at 2 in the morning trying to beat Ultrabus.
Also Technically there are a few Glitch Techs fics I WOULD have written, but now it’s complicated because of HTSBD.
This is because originally, HTSBD was going to be a purely slice of life, mostly episodic thing like most other Chatfics, something for me to get used to writing fanfic (my only other writing work up until then had been essays, headcanons and analyses for characters and franchises I liked, and one short story I wrote in 10th grade) and to learn my own strengths and weaknesses, and I was going to write fics with actual, long running plots separately once I was more confident in my abilities to write.
But then, and I still don’t fully understand how I got myself into this situation, the plot ideas for said fics got merged into HTSBD and now I can’t write them as their own fics, but at the same time am currently writing them because they became the ongoing plot (and a bunch of less connected side plots) of HTSBD. So it’s complicated.

This is no hate to any Hazbin Hotel fans but I just need to say this.
I think the thing that's the most disappointing about the bad writing in Hazbin Hotel is how they executed the whole "Heaven is corrupt" thing and also how they executed the "Rebellious angel who saw the corruption and was shunned for it."
I fucking LOVE both of these tropes. I would even go as far as to say they are my favorites. But HH was just... So underwhelming with it.
Vaggie just feels so one dimensional and her being cast out of Heaven just didn't have any impact on me in the way it should have. Not to mention how Adam and the other angels are written. There were so many opportunities for Adam's character and his motivations for being a part of exterminations. For example, it could be because he holds a grudge against Lucifer because of Lilith and the apple, or because he has been conditioned to see himself as a higher being because of his status as the first man so he sees others as being lesser. But no. They didn't do that. Adam is like the adult show version of the bully/mean girl trope in kids shows.
Gabriel ULTRAKILL is a good example of what Vaggie or Adam could have been. (I know I'm talking about ULTRAKILL again cut me some slack).
He was conditioned to believe everything the council told him and that the things he was doing were "God's will" even though God had long since left. He literally killed Minos again despite Minos just wanting his citizens to live in peace because the Council wanted the denizens of Hell to live through their punishments. He was a loyal soldier through and through, doing everything he was told to do without question. Then, once he loses to V1 for the first time, he is immediately shunned by heaven just because he failed once. And they only leave him with the options of dying or proving himself useful again. Once he loses to V1 the second time, though, he takes the time to think and realizes the manipulation of the council and kills them in order to make a point to the rest of heaven. He's definitely going to die now, but he's fine with that because he is dying by his own rules.
See how that's so much better than Vaggie's lazy backstory of, "I didn't want to kill a child and heaven was mad." Or Adam's, "I'm just a dick and I kill people because it's fun."
I know that people have their own tastes in terms of storytelling and themes, but I think this is just really upsetting for me because HH has such an interesting concept and I feel like Vivzy really missed the mark on it with the bad plot and character writing. HH is just one of those pieces of media where you can read fanfiction of much better quality than the source.
(And we're not even taking into account the parallels between Minos and Charlie and how the idea of what sins deserve punishment are handled because that's a whole different can of worms and I'm already really upset that Vivzy can't seem to execute certain themes as well as a fucking Doom inspired FPS can.)

Hey, it’s Lethe, and did the Swordsmachine and Scraphead horny thing get deleted? I looked around for a bit and I couldn’t find it, plus I checked the tag for me and the Swordsmachine romantic tag and I didn’t see it. I might’ve just missed it, and it isn’t super important, it wasn’t near and dear to me, but yeah. Also, I have a few things about Holding the Hand that Feeds that I want advice about. Firstly, should I keep trying to plan it out and get the plot complete before I start writing, or should I just start without a plan? Because I really want this to be good, because I’ve never written fanfic before and I’m showing it off to cool people and internet strangers, and I want it to not be bad, but I feel like if I keep trying to build a framework for it, I’ll never actually do it. And for the other thing, should I have any other ships involved, or should it solely be InV1rno, because it would be cool to write some GabV1el-ish stuff, but I don’t wanna clutter up the InV1rno, and there’s enough GabV1el out there already, plus it wouldn’t really have much time to develop since they only meet twice. I think I just want to explore their dynamic, and that’s why I’m tempted to include the ship. So probably not, I guess.
this should be it! tumblr was being a pain in the ass with searching for me for a moment too

hey ...... the wip snippet . i know i already requested one but what if i did another. imagine
Ultrakill | The Kamen Rider Crossover Nobody Asked For <- this one :3
[ask game] :3 woag
ohhh hhough this one . skeleton in my closet that rattles at me menacingly from time to time. there is a high likelihood this one will either never see written completion in a way I see fit, or I will try to draw something for it, because this is one of those ideas that is just. lurking in the back of my brain always but it's never a full beginning-middle-end plot. I think it deserves to be Seen, Eventually
very very little is written in the actual doc and what is written is probably going to be deleted and rewritten. need to find a balance between worldbuilding and actual story because it's from Gabriel's POV and that has weird holier-than-thou bureaucracy. BUT the jist is:
the Council serves as a very powerful organization that carefully picks and chooses who can be a Kamen Rider. it is treated as a highly esteemed position, and Gabriel is expected to never leave his Rider form (though it can exhaust him because they're. not convenient in daily life,) and always be ready to get sent out to deal with crime or patrolling. his identity is stripped from him, and he is not considered a person beyond a Kamen Rider, a vigilante-ish figure who does what he's told without question, a weapon.
V1 and V2 are artificial Kamen Riders built to surpass the power of the Council. I haven't fully settled on who made them, likely human scientists (could add a healthy flavor of robot-war-is-threatening-to-happen in this setting here). V1 is an escapee that was meant to be scrapped because it could not be controlled, and springs around causing mayhem. V2 was either released to destroy V1, or escaped also, although for budding-self-awareness reasons and not kill-all-humans reasons. V2 here is a lot pettier than canon V2 because its predecessor is pretty openly running around and it has self-esteem issues because instead of being too murderous, it's not murderous enough.
Gabriel is sent to destroy the weird threat skittering around, attacking not just humans and Council staff ("angels" are just,, lower-leveled Riders I suppose) but machines that it SHOULD share a common goal with, but it does not care who gets in the way of its bullets. He doesn't realize V1 is a machine and has a crisis about that, and he didn't know V2 existed until it shot in from nowhere to attack V1. overall Gabriel is having a terrible time questioning what it means to be a Kamen Rider etc etc. he has his little gay awakening when V1 beats him in a fight
Mirage is canon. I don't know HOW Mirage would be canon. maybe a hologram or an evil V1 that just. ended up an existential young woman. but she is canon. vital information
I feel like I need to do more tinkering with the setting, what role the prime souls and the ferryman might play, and make a nice and tidy checklist for plotpoints . the kamen rider formula was not built for being written out. this has been in my brain for a year so someday it will be real or else I think I will be cursed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
bonus year-old discord WIPs that may or may not be familiar (looking at these is killing me, ). the only reason I am showing these is because the files are now lost so if I ever had to touch the OG comic idea again I'd be doing it from scratch so these might as well see some glimmer of daylight
