It Started with Coffee
Stanley Pines wasn't the type to believe in love. For him love had happened once, and that had ended up with him nearly losing his car to a woman he thought had felt the same. So for a very long time, he carried on. Focusing on what was important to him, rebuilding the portal to get Ford back and taking care of Mabel and Dipper as well as Soos and Wendy. And he was content. Until one day, he wasn't. And it was because of one man in particular who threw a wrench into everything.
Fiddleford H. Mcgucket.
Fiddleford for the longest time, to Stan was nothing more than old man Mcgucket. The town crazy hick who lived with the raccoons and who tried to talk to him on occasion in his half sane ramblings. Then Weirdmageddon happened and suddenly Fiddleford was around more often than not. And with that, came the recovering inventor's attempts to talk to him. At first Stan didn't try to respond back, not wanting to entertain the hillbilly because he was missing his twin. It worked for awhile until one day when the stubborn old coot crossed the line. It was morning and Stanley along with the kids and his brother had decided to go to Greasy's to get breakfast. Along the way they'd run into Fiddleford and Ford of course invited him along as well as the kids. Stanley didn't protest, not wanting to ruin their excitement. It was when they'd been seated and were getting ready to order that it happened.
Ford had begun to list off their orders, and accidentally messed up Stan's. The younger twin was going to leave it be. Not wanting to bother his brother with something so trivial when the skinny bean pole from beside Stanford spoke up.
"Ah wait! Stanferd you messed up Stanley's order, he takes his coffee with 3 sugars. He likes sweet things."
Fiddleford was met with a wide eyed stare from his best friend. Mabel and Dipper were also staring, jaws open in awe. Stanley meanwhile just looked at the genius, dumbfounded.
'How in the hell did he notice that? It's not like I broadcast it to the whole world.'
The con man thought, puzzled and annoyed that he couldn't put said puzzle together. Once the shock wore off, the group of five slowly again resumed conversation. But all the while Stan's gaze continued to flicker towards Fiddleford. Confused and wanting answers. It was when their meals and coffee were finished and Dipper awkwardly and shyly said goodbye to the waitress. (Pacifica he believed her name was). That he finally got the chance to somewhat corner the other man. He walked slower to match Fiddleford's pace, letting the kids and Ford walk further ahead of the two of them. And once far enough Stanley finally looked at him.
"How did you know?"
Stanley's question seemed to catch Fiddleford off guard. Hazel green eyes behind glasses snapping to meet dark brown. Fiddleford opened his mouth to respond before closing it again, looking suddenly sheepish and embarrassed.
"Ah well, I uh developed a habit of sorts. Whenever I have a right old time trying to remember people who are important to me. I'll start watching em and making mental notes about em...."
The country hick rambled, looking nervous and uneasy. Stanley just stared, stunned. Fiddleford had thought he was important enough to remember details about him. And not just details anyone would know, but details miniscule enough to be overlooked.
"Yer implying I'm important enough to remember?"
The con man asked, unable to stop the disbelief. The other man looked at him again, eyes wide with his own disbelief.
"Yes?? I reckon so?? Why wouldn't I?? You're important just as much as everyone else."
Fiddleford said suddenly firm in the statement. Stanley just stared, expression unreadable for a beat before seeming to come to a conclusion.
"Heh, whatever you say Mcgucket. If you're gonna be doing that, then I'm gonna have to start doing it too. Can't have just me being important."
Fiddleford's eyes flashed with something in that moment before a grin came on his face.
"Alrighty then."
Stanley didn't believe in love. Didn't believe in the word nor what people said about it. But......maybe he can learn. Especially if this man was willing to stick around. Perhaps, there was such a thing. If Fiddleford continued to throw that wrench, then maybe Stanley could come around to believing it.

i feel like poolverine easily could’ve been one of those “they’re flirty but it’s mostly unserious” situations, and for most of the movie yeah they were extremely gay, but wade’s been like that with other guys and it was never treated as a serious type of relationship before. they’re willing to die for each other, but even then the romantic aspect of their relationship could be glossed over because it’s a superhero movie, that’s just what they do, and they’re working together to save a whole timeline—it’s not just about them. but then the movie doesn’t end with them saving the day and moving on. i think this’s really the part that sells poolverine as a genuine relationship to me… logan’s leaving, and wade calls for him. he can’t stand to let him go. then he introduces him to his family, and logan stays. he doesn’t really need to stay, but they’ve both decided they’re better off with one another than without

mv2 is crazy when you think abt the implications of v1 and mirage basically almost being the same people like yeah idk. like im not saying theyre the same people but do you think that when v2 looks at mirage they catch a glimpse of their previous rival and the thrill of the battle and their eventual defeat and death. do you think that v2’s shoulder socket aches a bit more every time they look into mirage’s lens. do you think that v2 would be imagining v1 in mirage’s place for a split second when theyre in bed and mirage doesnt have her clothes on. guys uh

So I've been doing some thinking
If Leigh and Dan got shipped together, they should be called "The Grinning Team"
It's based on the phrase, "the winning team," because one's a fighter (competitive), and the other's a gamer (also competitive). And ofc, they both grin sksk

Steve and Johnny bonding moment where Steve sees Johnny sitting out in the lot and Steve was trying to hide there because he doesn’t wanna go to the Curtis’s house every time his dad blows up. (which is really more than he lets on because he doesn’t wanna seem like he’s weaker than he lets on and needs help.)
Johnny was there and he was trying to sleep, so Steve sits next to him and wraps an arm around his shoulders, pulling him close. Johnny says nothing but he appreciates it.
They never speak of why Steve was there in the first place, they both know why. Or the fact that Johnny was just about to freeze his ass off either, that’s just how their relationship works. They get each other, but they’re silent. And it’s kinda beautiful.

Thoughts on radioapple as a qpr?
I'm of two opinions on this... forewarning that I'm giving my general and genuine opinion in this ask. Insert disclaimer about "not all radioapple," this is not a judgment on those that like what I dislike, don't come for me, etc, etc.
I'm not a huge fan of radioapple as a ship, QPR or otherwise. A lot of this comes down to how they're characterized in that ship on average. I love Alastor and Lucifer as characters independently from each other, but radioapple has pretty broad mass appeal and thus a tendency to see their characters simplified into personality and relationship tropes. (I remember being genuinely very confused when I realized that radioapple is more popular than radiostatic, to a degree that is really funny in retrospect.)
That said, there has been radioapple that I've read and really, really enjoyed (check out my AO3 bookmarks). Generally it's been slowburn as hell, genuinely dedicated to portraying Alastor as aroace (and usually sex-repulsed which is my preference in this context; I also feel like non-QPR radioapple has higher rates of "wow this Alastor is definitely not ace" vibes than other ships from what I've anecdotally noticed), and taken a lot of time to dissect both of their personalities, goals, and the ways in which they'd clash and subsequently build on them both individually as characters and in relation to each other.
A lot of my issues with radioapple comes from not being a fan of typical "enemies to lovers (or QPRs)" tropes, which I think in turn ties into my being very aro and very ace. If you give me an enemies to partners then you better be very fucking dedicated to proving to me why these two end up actually liking each other, because there is nothing I find less relatable than horny hatefucking or a relationship built on humiliating or putting down your partner (in a non-kinky way, or in a kinky way that disguises genuine poor treatment). A lot of the "they take turns humiliating each other" or "Lucifer puts Alastor in his place" flavored fics that are intended to be shippy just put me off entirely. Especially given radioapple's intended endgame flavor most of the time is that it's not a toxic ship.
This extends to them in a QPR. Any kind of emotional connection between these two for me would require writing dedicated to the emotional legwork. I think this is why I don't enjoy a lot of radioapple art, too - by the nature of the medium it's hard to capture that in a single image.
Tl;dr: 99% of the time, hard pass. 1% of the time, fucking amazing work, good job, love it, can't WAIT for the sequel.
