OG Gold saints ranking
I realized after writing 35+ chapters in two whole languages about them that I never ranked them officially. Note that:
- I take the OG manga, 1986 anime, Okada’s spin off, SoG and Saintia Shô into account.
-I'm not power scaling; I rank by overall appreciation.
- My opinion usually changes over time. Outside of my top two or three, the others might change any time.
-Very importantly, I’m not rating the ones in my fanfic. Those are (almost) all number ones in my heart…
Here goes:
12) Dohko: I just don’t like old mentor archetype, especially since Shiryu’s my least favorite bronze... Note that he would higher on my list if I took TLC into account.
11) Camus: My French neighbour…Cold and brooding character are a hit or miss for me. Sadly, Camus’s always been a miss. Also, he was effed up in the og. Destroying the grave of Hyoga’s mother so he would become colder? What the hell?
10) Shaka: It just weird me out that that they keep referring to Buddhism and Buddha as if they were a religion and a god, since it’s more of a spirituality ? It also makes his character very flat, there’s not that much to say about his personality, since they mostly focus on his prowess and cosmos. The eye thing was very cool the first time, though.
9) Saga: I reaaally wish they owned up the whole split personality narrative, instead of making him retroactively possessed goody two shoes. It makes his character fall a little bit flat, sadly. But hey, I’m a Gemini. Also, he WAS a good antagonist, for sure.
8) Aldebaran: Underrated boy, sadly by me and the writers included. I wish we saw more of him, so he felt a little bit less one note. I love the gentle giant type of characters.
7) Milo: Ok but a tiny bit forgettable in the og manga and anime for me. I liked him a lot int episode G. He makes a good frenemy for Aiolia, it gives both of them substance.
6) Aiolia: He’s just a biiit boring. I always found it funny how he felt so much more mature precisely in Seiya’s anime flashbacks. It felt more like they wanted to show how Aiolos would’ve been rather than Aiolia himself. Okada’s works gave him a sparkle I’m fonder of. In the end, I still like him.
5) Mû: I like him, and I really appreciate the fact that we meet in a context different from the sanctuary and the temples. I wish they explored this side more after the Sanctuary arc. Also, having Kiki around adds a lot to his own character. (Even though I'm clearly no fan of the whole child soldier dimension of the series)
4) Aiolos: Technically, we don’t see that much of him in the og’s, but he is charming. And his episode G counterpart was hilarious (I just love volume 0).
3) Shura: I love him, for no reason in particular. He’s a doll in episode GA. Though I must say episode Zero made him look quite dumb, but at least it gives me further reason to ship him with Aiolos (He literally let Athena “die” to protect Aiolos’s honor, come on).
2) Deathmask: Time to publicly admit I had the biggest crush on him when I was 9. Weird, but ok, little me. Anyway, I imprinted so even now he’s still a huge comfort character for me, alongside number one. For some reason, I’m often fond of secondary antagonists.
1) Aphrodite: He’s my perfect little angel child and I support his rights AND wrongs. More seriously, he’s an extremely interesting character, especially when you dive in the spin offs; He’s a lot more than he lets on. I wish he was more appreciated. Also, from age 9 to 12, I was persuaded he was a lady. The fact that he was voiced by a woman in the French dub didn’t help.
Anyway, that's it for today. Don't forget that it's only my dumb little opinions on fictional men.

New Moon 5 July 2024 Lilith Black Moon, 12th house Libra
Venus & Lilith. Where Light and Dark meet. A reflection of the soul's true essence
THE LANGUAGE OF ASTROLOGY allows us to understand and connect with different areas of our lives—from the most personal, to the obscure.
Truth is, there is no such thing as black or white in our reality. We are multidimensional beings, able to deepen our thinking and connection with our environment by unravelling the secrets that lie within us using our intuition as a guide. The connection between Venus and Lilith depicts the true essence of the soul, the birth of one’s true self and identity, transmuted into flesh and bones. Our raw and untamed side meets the brightest, most authentic part of our soul—our spirituality.
Venus and Lilith represent the union between light and shadow, and how purity and desire can coexist. Though in order to understand this connection, we first need to delve into each of the archetypes separately and their myths. Venus in Astrology is considered one of the personal planets, meaning her aspects, signs and transits will feel very tangible (or personal) to us. Traditionally, Venus is connected with Aphrodite, goddess of love, beauty and grace. Venus in a natal chart rules not only love, but also our possessions and desires. When we look at the ancient myths, it is quite ironic for me that the goddess of love was born out of war.
In ancient Greek mythology, the birth of Venus tells the story of how Aphrodite was born when Kronos (Saturn, lord of time and sacrifice) turned against his father Ouranus (Uranus, lord of heaven and enlightenment) and decides to castrate him —dropping his testicles into the ocean that ended up fertilising the sea. The name Aphrodite comes from the Greek word ‘aphros’ which means ‘sea foam’ produced by the violent ocean waves. There is a very thin line between pain and pleasure, though both can be seen through the archetype of Venus. This myth symbolises how something beautiful can be born from a bad/painful situation. The birth of new hope, purpose, and future.
ON THE OTHER HAND, the Lilith we will begin to describe, is also referred to as Black Moon Lilith in Astrology (and I feel it is important to state this since there are different Liliths in astrology, one of them being an asteroid). Black Moon Lilith is not an object but a mathematical point between the Earth and the Moon that always remains in the shadows. The Moon in Astrology is connected to our emotions, instincts and intuition. I sadly often see articles talking about Black Moon Lilith as one’s traumas, misfortune and suffering, however I like to refer to Black Moon Lilith as the untamed, raw, unfiltered part of ourselves that may clash with what is expected from us, creating a sense of discomfort and, in a way, rejection.
The mythology of Lilith goes far in history to Babylonian times, when the figure of Lilith was referred to as the untamed spouse of Adan. She refused to live under a specific law and reclaimed her sovereignty. She was true to herself and would not submit to any God or man, that is why she was expelled from Eden as she sought to fulfil her own pleasure. When looking at astrology, we can identify one’s power struggles by looking at their Lilith and Pluto placements. There is no specific theory as to what sign rules Lilith. However, from personal experience reading ancient texts and other books/articles—we could say Lilith feels at home in the sign of Scorpio, which is the opposite sign to Taurus (one of Venus’ domiciles). Here we begin to understand the correlation between both myths. How in many cases we have been forced to deny our desires in order to be accepted or loved. Both Venus and Lilith seek the same thing—pleasure. The appreciation of the beauty of life and how our feelings make us feel alive. Yes, both good and bad. Venus and Lilith invite us to reclaim our sovereignty by fully accepting who we are without dimming our light.
While Astrological interpretations tend to revolve around the signs, I have a different way to interpret Lilith and her meanings which is directly connected to the houses. Each house is ruled by one of the signs, so in a way, we are also encapsulating the essence of the signs within the houses. Though, I feel it is easier to understand all the different layers within the archetype of Lilith and its connection to Venus by primarily referring to the houses.

We can be old maids with cats and books in an Italian castle. For we have risen from the same wave, that I swear by, The seam seashell. Even if only you can be called Aphrodite.
The words you speak tattooed on the most inner walls of my heart, Much more important than those ever spoken by a young blond god. I save them as a mantra, God's honest truth.
And I am only a duty ethesist who wants to throw its heavy cape, but don't dare and collapses.
The sweetest queen who's forehead became kissed, And then thrown aside. Good and right
Too much to be loved, Only liked when hands forgive corrupt boys,
Double corsets, pressing on lungs, Beautiful goodness, not enough to be loved. Only a hand to hold, Rise to the throne. Crowned with my crown, and good hand, Becomes charity, gold of fingers, Melted when I become a statue to pay the state's debts, despite being perfectly shaped.
Only loved by guys with bigger saviour complexes than me, Mirrored in golden skin, Holy Midas' touch. //

Self-Forgiveness Enchantment: R&D Process
Before I start...
I'd like to share this: There are so many ways you can radiate magick throughout your life. This is the main idea I always revolve my spells around as I create them. Anything can be magickal because YOU are magickal. There is power in doing what makes you feel enlightened and at peace with yourself and the universe.
Yeah, spells are like recipes. If you'd like, you can replicate it to a T. But sometimes there will be missing ingredients that only YOU will have the palette to discover. I put a lot of thought and research into every single aspect of my ritual, and I'd like to explain my reasoning along the way, but by no means does that suggest there is one way to perform spellwork.
Change the hour; pick a different day; pray to another deity; replace an ingredient; omit a ritual. Do as you please, the magick starts with you.
I implore you to not replicate the rules, but instead replicate the feeling this enchantment aims to establish. I mean...why else would you cast it? Tailor this to you.
Don't let the pressure of perfection stop you from trying.
Okay, let's get this party started: Brainstorming
...feels like a spell in and of itself. I usually start off by using my favorite divination tool (tarot cards) and my greatest motivator (emotional pain) to inspire what grand message I would like my next spell to express. Think of each thing I highlight in pink as an ingredient to the spell.
This process led me to the V of Cups (Reversed). Seeing this card elicited a powerful feeling inside me. Before, I had been guilt-ridden and ashamed of my emotional downfall after so many months of hard work. I was so blinded with grief that I failed to take proper inventory of all the things I still had. Seeing this card reminded me that not all was lost...a path to recovery and self-acceptance was possible.
With this card, I can see what themes will be important for me to hone in on as I move through development: acceptance, hope, forgiveness, gratitude, kindness, and recovery (1).
Because the card itself is associated with these themes, it only felt natural to celebrate it and all of its magickal associations.
V of Cups Correspondences:
Element - Water
Zodiac - Scorpio (also associated with themes of regeneration and justice) (2)
Numerology - 5
Deities - Poseidon, Aphrodite, Isis, Boann, Hera, Hathor (3)
Out of these options of deities, I felt more connected to Isis, so I decided to honor Her.
Each of these correspondences has correspondences too! That's what makes researching so much fun, it's a never-ending rabbit hole. I continue by learning how my spell could celebrate each of these new "ingredients" in some shape or form. I'll go through each one by one.
Water Correspondences:
Performing a tea ritual (my favorite thing to do since I LOVE tea)
Collecting moon water (or really any magickal water) (4)
Bath or shower ritual! Because of time constraints I'm omitting this from the enchantment, but I still wanted to suggest this. (5)
Green/blue candles - blue candles are especially wonderful for protection and healing
Planetary hour of the moon - effective hour for emotional messages, magickal rituals, and visionary work as well (6)
Herbs: Basil - lol, there are many more but it's the only one I have on hand
Isis is also associated to water!
Scorpio Correspondences:
Wait for a Scorpio moon - I had already passed the time window for a Scorpio sun, so that was a goner lol. In my time zone, a Scorpio moon gives me a time window of around 2 days to choose my planetary hour from. I do know that the moon is in its fall in Scorpio, and unfortunately my natal chart doesn't support a Scorpio moon but I don't see any of this as a bad thing. I see spell casting during a fall as a symbol for a time of deep inner work and transformation. It might be helpful to call upon spirit guides/totem animals for protection, and to incorporate as many Scorpio associations as you can to strengthen your intentions and power. Meditation and intense reflection is also appropriate during this time. (7)
Herbs: Echinacea (also strengthens the power of other herbs), Basil (this one specifically supports a Scorpio moon, how lucky am I? lol)
The Number "5" Correspondences:
I usually incorporate numerology in my spellwork through the creation of a witch's bottle. Pick five ingredients to be in this bottle to capture the numerological intention behind the number. It's super fun to do, and gives me an excuse to use additional "ingredients" that I think can strengthen the enchantment.
Planet: Venus
Color: Pink
This number is associated with change and love, so it fits well with my themes
The door is wide open to get creative with this one. You could present five offerings to a deity, steep five herbs in your tea, recite a mantra five times, etc. The whole point is to just be intentional on how you incorporate the number.
Isis Correspondences:
This applies to any deity you call upon during spellwork: research as much as you can about them. Spending time and effort learning about their origins and purpose is already a grand form of respect to offer. This action alone is remarkably helpful in understanding nuances in how you should communicate to them, and what is (in)appropriate to ask of them. Isis is a nurturing Goddess, so She is not remarkably difficult to communicate with, she's actually a joy to be around from my experience. This is not the same for every deity, so be careful!
Loves sweets!!! Candy, raisins, milk, and tea work too. You can offer baked goods, like brownies for Her, and she'll be very pleased. Again, you can get creative. Because I'm performing a tea ritual, I'll be offering Her some tea, and some candy and raisins.
Loves the color green
Recite a prayer to Isis. You can create one or find some around the web. Don't just read the words aloud, establish your own connection to them first. You can also draw symbols associated to Isis physically or in the air. Another idea is carving them into a candle used for the enchantment
There are MANY associations you can incorporate for Isis that can strengthen your connection to Her. There are incenses, totem animals, oils, herbs, flowers, and many more offerings you can give that align with your interests.
Yay! Next up is the outlining phase...
Whew, that felt long yet I know there are so many other details I didn't expand upon for clarity's sake. That brainstorming phase was a lot so let's start this one off by recapping all the elements I'd like to incorporate in the enchantment. I'm gonna organize them by rituals I'd like to perform, magickal times I'd like to consider, and motifs I'd like to include.
Rituals: Research deity Moon water collection Tea ritual Prayer to deity Witch's bottle Magickal Times: Scorpio moon (Ex. Dec. 9th, 3:35 AM - Dec. 11th, 11:11 AM) Hour of the moon (Ex. Dec. 9th, 6:40 PM - 7:51 PM) Motifs (think of these as the main ideas of the spell): Themes: Acceptance, hope, forgiveness, gratitude, kindness, recovery, self-love, healing Tarot Card: V of Cups (Reversed), Suit of Cups is also applicable Element: Water Planet: Mars/Pluto (Scorpio), Venus (number 5) Zodiac: Scorpio Number: 5 Deity: Isis Sub-motifs (think of these as supporting ideas): Planet: Mars/Pluto (Scorpio), Venus (number 5) Colors: Blue (water), Green (water/Isis), Pink (number 5) Herbs: Basil (water/Scorpio moon), Echinacea (Scorpio) Deity offerings (ex. sweets)
If the brainstorming phase looked like a hot mess beforehand, I hope it looks more digestible now! Keep in mind, this is still a planning phase so I might omit/add "ingredients" to adjust for time constraints and availability. Usually, ingredients added during outlining serve as "strengtheners" in the spell.
For example, I know I want a witch bottle containing five ingredients, but also know my current list of sub-motifs lacks a diversity of magickal items. I could include more items that align specifically with the themes of the spell. This is where additional research into crystals, flowers, oils, spirit guides/totem animals, and more comes into play. This is also where trusting your witch eye will be most vital in determining what the last few ingredients will be.
I have many crystals associated with themes related to healing and hope and even the Mother Goddess, Isis, but it is my responsibility to determine which stones will be fit for the job. It's like they're all auditioning for Witchcraft Idol and I'm their Simon Cowell, but much nicer, of course.
I'm gonna skip the long explanation and provide a small-ish list detailing the extra ingredients I'm adding.
Herbs/Spices: Rosemary: A favorite that I love adding to my tea ritual. Works wonderfully at healing and removing negativity. Also best to use on Saturdays or Sundays, the very days I'll be casting. Himalayan Pink Salt: Works wonderfully as a cleanser. The pink salt aligns nicely as a witch bottle ingredient. Totem Animal: Dinosaur: I've recently felt a strong spiritual connection to the dinosaur, specifically the Brachiosaurus. I was hesitant at first, but upon some digging, I think the dino is a great totem animal for this enchantment. The dino's reign on Earth reminds me of the tenacious spirit of Isis. Their ultimate demise can teach us to let go of the past, embrace new beginnings, and make peace with the highs and lows that come with the cycle of life. Sounds like a perfect fit to me. (8) Crystals/Stones: Carnelian: Associated with Isis and the number "5". Works to restore vitality and motivation. One of my favorite crystals, and the only one I have as a sphere. Will serve as a wonderful offering to the Mother Goddess. Tourmalinated Quartz: This buddy is like an old reliable to me. This crystal is remarkably powerful as it combines the energies of Black Tourmaline and White Quartz to serve as a mighty protector and amplifier. This baby is also one of few crystals that can be associated to all planets, zodiacs, and elements. Also happens to be my only tower, lol. This gorgey hun will solely serve as support during the enchantment. Merlinite: Another bestie of mine. I have this one in the shape of a palm stone, making it perfect to hold as I meditate. Merlinite is especially effective at connecting with totem animals and encourages you to face your shadow self. A very, very wise, trustworthy stone that is great for healing rituals. Hematite: I felt like I was missing an earth related ingredient that could serve to ground me. Upon learning the power of Hematite, I knew this would be a great addition to the line-up. This stone works to lift shame and despair and replace it with the determination to do better and take responsibility. Self-forgiveness can go nowhere without the intent to work for a better future. Moonstone: Very powerful as it is associated to Isis, all planets, and the Scorpio zodiac. The spell will be cast when the sun is in Sagittarius, another sign supported by the Moonstone. Insanely perfect fit for this spell. It can function as psychic protection and as an emotional balancer. Peach Selenite: I have a bias for my peachy baby! Serves as a cleanser and is associated to Pluto, a ruling planet of Scorpio. She also promotes self-awareness and acceptance. A perfect 10. Pink Opal: Associated with the Divine, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and water. Great healer...and it's pink! :) Rose Quartz: This will be an ingredient placed in the witch bottle, as I have a few small chips ready to put in some work. It's pink and aligns with water and Venus....so it was practically made for this bottle! This last addition is an incredible healer and fills the soul with love thy self and thy neighbor.
OMG, this was wayyyyy longer than I anticipated. I'm gonna make another post soon with just the spell itself, but I thought it would be interesting to share my process, as I'm always curious to understand all the moving parts that create magick.
See ya on the flippity flip flop! :)
Sources/Further Notes:
(1) I've been using this beginner tarot deck I got from Temu to help me get reacquainted with all the magickal associations to the cards. If you're new to tarot, I think this is a wonderful deck to start your journey off with and it's super affordable as well.
(2) Silver Ravenwolf. Solitary Witch: The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation. Woodbury, Minn., Llewellyn Publications, 2009.
The bulk of all the magickal associations and info I've gathered come from this FANTASTIC book of shadows. Just thinking of this grimoire makes me want to cry tears of joy because it single-handedly kickstarted my obsession with spellwork.
(3) Tarot card and deity associations Tumblr post I found that was sooooo helpful
(4) Magickal water properties from Pinterest
(5) My bathtub looks like it came out of a horror film, no way am I bathing in there, I won't be able to focus! Witchcraft can do a lot, but it will never convince me to fester in that tub! Here are some effective shower alternatives if the bath is a no-go.
(6) Use this wonderful planetary hours calculator to find the astrological association with the hour of the day from your locale.
(7) There is sooo much information about the moon that is instrumental to spellwork, this post is already long so I won't go any deeper into it. Here is a great site to get detailed astrological info about the moon from your locale
(8) Additional information on the spiritual meaning of the dinosaur can be found here

What If Gods Still Walked Among Us Today?
Tumblr media
What If Gods Still Walked Among Us Today?
Alright, let’s take a fun little brain trip. Just imagine this for a second — what if the gods from old myths and legends, like Zeus, Thor, or maybe Anubis, were still walking around today? Not just as ideas in dusty old books or names in Marvel movies — but real, living, breathing beings. What would that even look like in our modern world? Let’s talk it out like friends over coffee, yeah?
First Off — Gods Just Chillin’ in the 21st Century?
So, picture this: you're walking to school or work and BAM — you see a glowing figure in a hoodie, casually sipping a latte. That’s Ares, god of war, probably stressing about traffic. Or maybe Aphrodite’s running a viral beauty brand on Instagram, dropping love advice through reels. If gods were real and just... around, life would get weird fast. But also kinda amazing? They’d probably have day jobs, Twitter accounts, and thousands of TikTok followers. Some might be low-key, blending in. Others? Total drama magnets — starting trends, influencing world leaders, and crashing the stock market every time they sneeze.
Would People Worship Them Again?
Honestly? Probably. Some folks already treat celebs like gods, right? So imagine if an actual god showed up — lightning powers and all. People would be lining up to get selfies, start cults, and make merch. But not everyone would buy into it. Some would say, “That’s just a magician with good CGI.” Others might start news debates or science tests to prove or disprove them. It would split opinions fast — kinda like aliens or pineapple on pizza.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How Would Governments Deal With It?
Oh boy. Governments would probably freak out at first. Like, “Do we need to give Poseidon a seat at the U.N.?” or “What if Hades wants control of the underworld — like, the actual one?” There’d be global meetings. Rules made. Maybe even god-rights protests. And yeah, definitely some top-secret organizations trying to track and study them. (Looking at you, Area 51.)
Could They Help Us?
If the gods were chill and actually cared about humans, they might fix a lot of stuff. Like: - Hermes could make global shipping instant. - Demeter could solve world hunger. - Hephaestus might help us build insane tech. - Shiva might guide us through spiritual growth or renewal. But on the flip side — if even one god got cranky or felt ignored? Yikes. Earthquakes, floods, or something worse. So yeah, high risk, high reward.
What About Faith and Religion?
That would get super personal. Some people might feel like their beliefs are confirmed. Others could feel confused or even betrayed — especially if their idea of God doesn't line up with these mythical figures. It could unite people or divide them. Depends on how the gods behave, really. Are they kind? Rude? Mysterious? All of that would shape how humans react.
Could We Be the Gods Now?
Here’s a deep thought — what if the gods are here, but not in shining armor or thunderclouds? What if we’re becoming the gods of our own world? We’ve got crazy tech, can talk across the globe instantly, edit genes, and even explore space. Maybe the old gods faded because humans evolved into something more powerful and self-aware. Or maybe, just maybe… they’re watching, waiting, or even walking among us quietly.
TL;DR – If Gods Still Walked Among Us Today:
- You might bump into Thor at the gym or see Isis trending on TikTok. - People would either worship them, question them, or fear them. - They could help us or mess things up — depending on their mood. - Religion and science would both be flipped upside down. - Maybe the gods never left... or maybe we're becoming them. 🔗 Related Articles from EdgyThoughts.com What If Humanity Became a Type III Civilization? https://edgythoughts.com/what-if-humanity-became-a-type-iii-civilization-2025/ Could We Live on a Super-Earth? https://edgythoughts.com/could-we-live-on-a-super-earth-2025/ 🌐 External Resource: Want the deeper historical dive into mythology? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mythologies Read the full article

Aphrodite slowly walked up to the other, her head tilting to the side as the other spoke, “Wait, so what are you suggesting we do about your situation? I mean, I suppose I can help but I’m truly unsure of what you expect me to do?” The blonde replied, her arms folding across her chest. “Why did you even come to me?”

“Babe? Are you here?” Sofia threw her beloved high heels to the side, shortly followed by her bag and coat as she made her way to the bedroom in hopes of finding her best friend. “I had the shittiest day. You have no fucking idea. My dad’s a fucking asshole,” she whined, pulling off her dress the moment she stepped into the bedroom, dropping it to the floor so she could crawl onto the bed and underneath the blanket next to Aphrodite. “I wish I could just steal his money and run away.”

I do not assume enough, the beast of him wished to snarl, to writhe and rave against the chains of common civility, yet Nyx's tone stayed his vicious tongue, sealed -- if for a moment -- that seething distemper into private thought. Instead, his jaw worked, tight muscle leaping with the effort of withholding a long-held fury, and Adonis ducked his head as though in shame ( though he would be the first to deny it was shame he felt in that moment, clawing back some saving grace from the eyes of the gods, there was still that still-small part of him, a kernel of the boy he had been, that knew well the tone of the mother, the hot burning of his ears and cheeks in that scalding rebuke ).
"She aids him." The hunter spoke after a long while, tone tight and heavy with burden, as though he must force the words to come. Sharp eyes soared up then, as an arrow to its mark, to bore into Nyx's own. "Does it not bother you? Knowing what she must say, what she has done, as you must? He is your son and yet you permit her aid."

Irene Papas or Pappas (Greek: Ειρήνη Παππά, romanized: Eiríni Pappá), born Irene Lelekou (Greek: Ειρήνη Λελέκου, romanized: Eiríni Lelékou; on 3 September 1926), is a Greek actress and singer who has starred in over 70 films in a career spanning more than 50 years. She gained international recognition through such popular award-winning films as The Guns of Navarone (1961) and Zorba the Greek (1964). She was a powerful protagonist in films including The Trojan Women (1971) and Iphigenia (1977). She played the title roles in Antigone (1961) and Electra (1962).
Papas won Best Actress awards at the Berlin International Film Festival for Antigone and from the National Board of Review for The Trojan Women. Her career awards include the Golden Arrow Award in 1993 at Hamptons International Film Festival, and the Golden Lion Award in 2009 at the Venice Biennale.
In 1969, the RCA label released Papas' vinyl LP, Songs of Theodorakis (INTS 1033). This has 11 songs sung in Greek, conducted by Harry Lemonopoulos and produced by Andy Wiswell, with sleeve notes in English by Michael Cacoyannis. It was released on CD in 2005 (FM 1680). Papas knew Mikis Theodorakis from working with him on Zorba the Greek as early as 1964. The critic Clive Barnes said of her singing performance on the album that "Irene Pappas is known to the public as an actress, but that is why she sings with such intensity, her very appearance, with her raven hair, is an equally dynamic means of expression".
In 1972, she appeared on the album 666 by the Greek rock group Aphrodite's Child on the track "∞" (infinity). She chants "I was, I am, I am to come" repeatedly and wildly over a percussive backing, worrying the label, Mercury, who hesitated over releasing the album, causing controversy with her "graphic orgasm".
In 1979, Polydor released her album of eight Greek folk songs entitled Odes, with electronic music performed (and partly composed) by Vangelis. The lyrics were co-written by Arianna Stassinopoulos. They collaborated again in 1986 for Rapsodies, an electronic rendition of seven Byzantine liturgy hymns, also on Polydor; Jonny Trunk wrote that there was "no doubting the power, fire and earthy delights of Papas' voice".
In 1947 she married the film director Alkis Papas; they divorced in 1951. In 1954 she met the actor Marlon Brando and they had a long love affair, which they kept secret at the time. Fifty years later, when Brando died, she recalled that "I have never since loved a man as I loved Marlon. He was the great passion of my life, absolutely the man I cared about the most and also the one I esteemed most, two things that generally are difficult to reconcile". Her second marriage was to the film producer José Kohn in 1957; that marriage was later annulled. She is the aunt of the film director Manousos Manousakis and the actor Aias Manthopoulos.
In 2003 she served on the board of directors of the Anna-Marie Foundation, a fund which provided assistance to people in rural areas of Greece. In 2018 it was announced that she had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease for five years.

Mummified Dove - CR 1/2 Undead
Why not?  Why shouldn’t I mummify a pigeon?
Tumblr media
Doves have symbolic meaning in some cultures that aren’t New York City.  They are used worldwide to represent peace, love, and freedom, and in ancient Greece were often used as sacrifices, especially to Aphrodite who was associated with doves.  The blood of a sacrificed dove was thought to purify an altar.   So if you’re going to mummify some kind of animal to put in a tomb alongside whoever is actually entombed there, they’re not an unreasonable choice.
But, you know, if you say “pigeon” instead of “dove,” even though they’re just two different names for the same animal, it kind of loses that mystique.  Especially when it’s the multi-colored American breed, and looks as derpy as the image above.  So you could definitely use this as a more comedic enemy as well.
Spring Attack lets a mummified dove dive-bomb characters without being automatically killed with an attack of opportunity, but you still need at least one more dove than PC in order to be a reasonable threat against readied actions and crossbows.  Or some other threat like a stronger enemy or ongoing trap for the players to pay attention to.
This creature was created with a cross between the mummified animal template and the mummified creature template, because I wasn’t happy with either of them.

BOOK V | HOMER'S ILIAD | LITERATURE REVIEW
SUMMARY: Diomedes is assisted by Athena in massacring the Trojans. His murderous onslaught is challenged by Pandarus and Aeneas, the son of Aphrodite, however, Pandarus is killed and Aeneas injured. Aphrodite rescues Aeneas, and Apollo heals him. Diomedes, at the request of Athena, wounds Aphrodite and forces her from the field. Ares, urged on by Aphrodite and Apollo, rallies the spirit of the Trojans and lays waste to the Achaeans. Hera and Athena rejoin the battle and help Diomedes injure Ares, forcing him as well from the battle.
previous book / all books / next book
ok, not a long analysis at all today because i didn't find this book particularly difficult.. or at least, there wasn't anything really to dissect. instead, i thought i might just share a few of my favourite moments ^-^
so, Book V opens up with Athena helping out Diomedes kill a lot of the Trojans. Homer doesn't take any shortcuts in describing in detail the exact nature of everyone's wounds and how they came to die,, and i think it just makes the scene all the more vivid and engaging to the audience.. you can really imagine what it must have been like in Ancient Greece to be listening as someone recounted the story to you!!
Diomedes is quite an interesting character in my eyes. i'm in the grey about whether i see him as a noble hero or not- on one hand, he fights valiantly and fiercely, but on the other, his hubris seems off the charts, and unsuitable for the likes of a respectable hero..
yet, Athena seems to dote on Diomedes for the majority of the part!
in previous posts, i've talked a LOT about how certain heroes are able to recognise the gods seemingly by their own merit...
in the previous books, there hasn't been any mention of Achilles, Odysseus, or Hector having to have "the veil withdrawn" in order for them to recognise the gods.. they simply do so.. but with Diomedes, Athena explicitly states that she's allowing him to see her:
"... I have withdrawn the veil from your eyes, that you may know gods and men apart. If, then, any other god comes here and offers you battle, do not fight him; but should Zeus' daughter Aphrodite come, strike her with your spear and wound her."
with most other heroes in the Iliad so far, none of the other gods have really had any beef with Athena helping out her boys, but Diomedes gets on a lot of gods' nerves... Aphrodite, Apollo, and Ares are both quite unamused by Diomedes's boldness in daring to challenge them on the field.. and it seemed at the start that even Athena was clear on the fact that Diomedes should not fight any of the gods (except Aphrodite-- and even then, Athena only says to "wound" her, so that she might leave the field).
"And laughter-loving Aphrodite answered: '...The war is no longer one between Trojans and Achaeans, for the Danaans have now taken to fighting with the immortals.'"
"Not one whit did [Diomedes] fear the mighty god, so set was he on killing Aeneas and stripping him of his armour. Thrice did he spring forward with might and main to slay him, and thrice did Apollo beat back his gleaming shield... Apollo shouted to him with an awful voice and said, 'Take heed... and draw off. Think not to match yourself against gods, for men that walk the earth cannot hold their own with the immortals.'"
"Then Phoebus Apollo said to Ares, 'Ares... can you not go to [Diomedes]... and draw him out of the battle? He first went up to [Aphrodite] and wounded her in the hand... and afterwards sprang upon me too, as though he were a god."
even worse to me than simply sparring with the gods, Diomedes verbally criticises Aphrodite... to her face...
"Daughter of Zeus, leave war and battle alone; can you not be contented with beguiling silly women? If you meddle with fighting you will get what will make you shudder at the very name of war."
i'm not a fan of Aphrodite, but i was pretty shocked that Diomedes wasn't punished, or even scolded in any way whatsoever after saying that to a literal goddess,, and in Homer's interpretation, a daughter of Zeus too.
perhaps Athena's idea of nobility and heroism is different to what is generally agreed upon.. after all, in the next scene, Athena demonstrates her own cunning and willingness to bend the rules when she sneakily convinces Zeus that Aphrodite only hurt her hand on a brooch, rather than the truth that she was purposefully speared by Athena's lackey.
anyhow.. another thing i've noticed about the Achaeans' side is that they're very hypocritical. i've already read the book where Hector dies (RIP king), and i remember when i read it being irritated by Athena whining to Zeus about the gods intervening in the fight, and 5 seconds later, she literally goes into the battle herself and takes things into her own hands... anyways.. hypocrisy is an Achaean thing i guess because it happens with Diomedes too:
"My friends, how can we wonder that Hector wields the spear so well? Some god is ever by his side to protect him, and now Ares is with him in the likeness of mortal man. Keep your faces therefore towards the trojans, but give ground backwards, for we dare not fight with gods."
FIRST of all,, did Diomedes forget 5 minutes ago when Athena was literally by his side, spurring him on, and inspiring him to have the skill and spirit to wound not only the Trojans, but a literal goddess?
SECOND of all, what the HELL is Diomedes talking about here when he says he "dares not fight with gods"... 3 seconds ago Diomedes was literally intent on killing Apollo, and if Apollo in his kindness hadn't given Diomedes a warning first, Apollo would surely have crushed him to dust then and there for his hubris. not to mention that literally 10 minutes into the future from this moment, we see Diomedes, racing in his chariot with Athena literally by his side controlling the horses, impaling Ares in the stomach.
screw Diomedes to hell tbh. he's my least favourite character so far. he's even less than Agamemnon in my eyes.
one last thing about Diomedes that i nearly forgot to say.. this line here:
"But Diomedes all undismayed made answer, 'You have missed, not hit, and before you two see the end of this matter one or other of you shall glut tough-shielded Ares with his blood.'"
i love this a line a lot because the moment i read it, it instantly reminded me of a similar line in Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part I when Hotspur prepares to fight Hal, and he says:
"All hot and bleeding will we offer them. / The mailèd Mars shall on his altar sit / Up to the ears in blood." (Henry IV, Part I. Lines 115-117)
i can't help but wonder whether Shakespeare was inspired by this line from the Iliad.. i did some digging, and the first English translation of the Iliad was 1581 by Arthur Hall. Shakespeare published Henry IV, Part I in 1598... so.. idk. is it completely ridiculous to think that the imagery of Ares/Mars dripping head to toe with the blood of his enemies was something unfamiliar to Shakespeare? we already know that he drew inspiration from many previous works, and Shakespeare wasn't a stranger to Greek myths and tragedies...... just something i noticed, and made me excited to read ehehe ^-^
anyhow, my last thing to comment about the book is that i thought it was hilarious when Hera asked Zeus for permission to drive Ares from the battlefield, and Zeus tells her to send Athena because Athena picks on him all the time and she's used to it:
"Set Athene on to him, for she punishes him more often than anyone else does."
Ares doesn't deserve the hate he gets from the gods in the Iliad.. it's so sad, i feel so bad for him. he just wants to have fun and fight everyone, and then Zeus spouts some mean stuff like:
"I hate you worst of all the gods in Olympus, for you are ever fighting and making mischief... still, I cannot let you remain longer in such great pain; you are my own offspring... If, however, you had been the son of any other god, you are so destructive that by this time you should have been lying lower than the Titans."
my heart truly goes out to Ares... he surely cannot be that destructive if he's literally always being attacked/beaten by Athena, and getting trapped in "vessels of bronze" lol.
in any case, that's all from me for now. in the next book, we see a little bit more of my hero Hector, and his awesome wife Andromache, so i hope to have a little more to analyse in the next book :D

Until Penelope Judith betrayed Claude by sleeping with his older half brother the Crown Prince Anstacius de Alger Obelia not that Claude care that Penelope betrayed him since he never really like her to begin with.
That Claude's engagement with Lady Penelope Judith became void that Claude took that chance to be with Aphrodite. And it wasn't long before Anastacius de Alger Obelia became the tyrant Emperor and ruin the Kingdom that Claude killed his own brother  and became the new Emperor and Penelpoe judith run away soon after afraid of what Claude would do to her and it wasn"t long before Claude evenutally married Aphrodite and making her his Empress.
9 months later...
On March 27
Empress Aphrodite de Alger Obelia gaved birth to twins who took after their father they were given the name of Crown Prince Apollo and Princess Artemis de Alger Obelia the twin sun and moon of Obelia Kingdom.
It wasn't long before Aphrodite's bestfriend Cedric Diggory end up marrying Lady Meaves Andino
Tumblr media
And gaved birth to a son on May 30 named lloyd Andino.
3 years later...
A dancer by the name of Diana from Siodonna put the Emperor under a love spell but it only work when the twins are no where near him since his children Apollo and Artemis are the symbol of his love for his Empress who's currently sick in Amythes Palace.
By the time the Empress got better and found out her husband and Emperor is under a love spell and she quickly broke the spell by then the woman was pregnant with the Emperor's child which made Claude furious that he had Diana thrown in the Dungeon. The Emperor want nothing to do with the wench's child. Who died giving birth to the girl she even dare to give her daughter the name Athanasia de Alger Obelia. The baby was lucky enough to be alive since Emperor vaule the Empress opinion so he let wench's daughter lived and allow the little bug to live in Ruby Palace the former Palace for Concubines. The Emperor care not what happen to the girl every maids and nobles know what happen. The Emperor who has love no woman except for his beautiful Empress Aphrodite.
The Empress gaved birth to her youngest daughter on January 30 given the name Athena de Alger Obelia, she has the Empress Blood red hair and having the blue Jewel eyes of the imperal family of Obelia like the rest of her siblings. She is only 5 months younger than Athanasia, who is being raised by the former maid of Diana in Ruby Palace.
6 years later...
Athanasia de Alger Obelia wounder off into the ground of Garnet Palace of the Emperor and Empress. Where she took a bite on the Golden Angel Statue.
" What is this little bug doing in my palace?"Claude ask furious. Athanasia  freeze in fear looking at her father who's looking at her with distain in his eyes.
" I'm sure she just wounder off your majesty" Felix said.
"Hm... I know that face, your wench Diana's daughter" Aphrodite said with a hard glear on her face.
"Come now my beautiful goddess remove the glear on your face it dose not suit your beauitful face at all" Claude said to his Empress claim Aphrodite down.
"oh... And Felix return that bug to Ruby Palace I don't want to see her face unless absolutely necessary" Claude said before walking off with his Empress to see their three children in Opal Palace.
Athanasia de Alger Obelia was not aware the cold hearted Emperor Claude de Alger Obelia is married or that he still remember about Diana, but if he remember her so why dose he treat me with so much distain I don't understand. Even my mother figure who raised me in this new life of my as Athanasia, Lilian York didn't even know about the Empress only the maids of Ruby Palace who work their for a long time and who didn't like me at all.
2 years later...
It's been 2 years since the first time Athanasia first meet her father after that one time she hasn't seen him again, but she evenutally heard that she has two older siblings and 1 younger sister. The Empress and her children aren't part ofvthe Noval before so she dosen't know what else change from the story plotline. And she hasn't personally meet her siblings and she heard of them, but she has never meet them before.
In the Wizard World....
It's been 16 years since both Cedric and Aphrodite both disappear during the tri-wiazard tournament where the dark lord Voldemort was resurrected with Aphrodite's stolen blood. Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger
Tumblr media
Search for the Horcruxes of the dark lord with the help of the order of Phoenix, until they finally defeat the dark lord after 5 years of war.
And after 16 years Albus Dumbledor found a Spell that would take them to the where Cedric and Aphrodite's current are that one that went with Dumbledor are Amon Diggory, Hermonie & Ron Weasley, Fred & George Weasley and Sirius Black & Remus Lupin.
They did the spell and all of them appeared in frontbof Cedric, Meave and their son lLoyd Andino who is currently 11 years old and he is a knight in traing the bestfriend of the Crown Prince Apollo de Alger Obelia.
"Cedric?" Amon Diggary ask.
"Dad" Cedric said getting up from where he was seating and giving his father who he hasn't seen for 16 years and he age over the years.
"My boy call Ms. Potter and let's take you back home" Dumbledor said which Cedric gaved his old Headmaster a look that said are you an idiot.
" Ah... you did studied whatever spell you just cast to take you to this world right because if you had you'll know it's a one way travel" Cedric said.
" you got to be wrong" Hermione said.
"Afraid not during the first two years in this world we both tried everything to return home, but nothing every work evenutally we gaved up and lived our life" Cedric said.
Dumbledor tried the spell again to take them home, but it didn't work.
"Ah...Dad who's Ms. Potter?" lLoyd ask his dad.
" That's your Aunt Aphrodite" Cedric said
"Oh" lLoyd said.
" And why did you take Ron and Hermonie here with you?" Cedric question again.
" Their Aphrodite's friends" Remus said.
" Hm... Friends? The last time I recalled both Ron and Hermonie cut their friendship with Aphrodite after her name came out of the Goblet of Fire, so I doubt Aphrodite would give them a warm welcome if she see both Ron and Hermonie.  If she see Fred & George, Sirius & Remus maybe but to Ron and Hermonie not likely" Cedric said.
" you don't know what your talking about" Ron said unsirten in his voice.
"Ah.. I think I know my bestfriend than anyone here " Cedric said.
" Even so we'll still like to see her" Hermione said.
"Hm... alright it's your funeral, but a little advice don't piss off her husband or that's the last thing you will ever do and you might end up lossing your head and Even Aphrodite wouldn't stop him" Cedric said.
" stop kidding around Cedric" Hermione said before all of them stand to go to Aphrodite not believing what Cedric said.
"Ah... Dad where are you going?"lLoyd aak.
"We're going to your Aunt Aphrodite's" Cedric said.
"Oh can I came, I'm suppose to See Apollo after he finish his lesson for the day anyways" lLoyd said.
"oh I been meaning to ask, but Who's this little guy?" Amon ask his son Cedric.
"This is lLoyd Andino my son " Cedric said.
It didn't take them long to arrive at Garnet Palace and Cedric greated Felix Robain the Crimson Knight and the Strongest Knight of the Emperor.
" Hey, Felix where here to see Aphrodite" Cedric said.
"Well your going to wait longer since she just enter Labor to give birth to her daughter" Felix said
"Understood" Cedric said.
"Okay what are we doing in a Palace?" Fred & George Weasley ask.
" well this is Aphrodite's home" Cedric said.
"But we wete expecting Manor like your house not a freaking Palace" Remus said.
"What are you expecting an Empress to live in a small manor? Are you out of your mind that is something the Emperor will never allow" Cedric said.
" Are you saying, my goddaughter Aphrodite is now an Empress?" Sirus Black ask.
"Yes and we are currently in the Palace that the Emperor and Empress Share together, but Aphrodite has her own personal Palace like their 3 children  the Crown Prince Apollo has Opal Palace, Princess Artemis has Amber Palace and they are only 17 years old and then their Princess Athena has Emerald Palace and she's only 14 years old. Even the ignore Princess Athanasia has her own in Ruby Palace it was formerly for concubines until she was born" Cedric said.
" Are you saying that Aphrodite is ignoring one of her daughters?"Hermonie ask in disbelief.
"Let me correct you, Princess Athanasia is no way Aphrodite's daughter the girl was concived when her mother Diana gaved the Emperor a Love spell while Aphrodite was sick and evenutally became pregnant with Princess Athena that by the time Aphrodite broke the Love spell on the Emperor the Diana of Siodonna was already pregnant the woman was lucky to die at childbirth for if she has survived at all the Emperor would have rip her limb from limb. And the Emperor allow her daughter to continue to live." Cedric said.
" What how could Aphrodite ignore a child" Hermione said.
"It's quite simple really the girl was concived when her father was under a love spell that the girl is recognized by her father as his own daughter" Sirius said.
" why are you all okay with this?" Hermione ask.
"Because it's quite normal in the Wizard world and Aphrodite learn the old tradition of the World and share some of their view." Cedric said. Which shock Hermonie that it was normal to tge magical world and this new world to ignore a child concived from a love spell or potion and pretend like the child never existed.
2 hours later...
The newest daughter of the Emperor and Empress, who look alot like Princess Athena
Tumblr media
(let's pretend she has shappire blue jewel eyes)
having their's mother blood red hair and their father's sapphire jewel eyes along with his face, they gaved her the name Princess Astrea de Alger obelia.
And Cedric was right Aphrodite wasn't happy to see  Hermonie & Ron Weasley and Albus Dumbledor two hours after Aphrodite
Tumblr media
woke up after giving birth to her daughter Astrea. But she help them obtain a house for all of them to stay in while Cedric help them settle in their new home. And get new job since they need money and it's unlikely they took their gold with them like Aphrodite did when they first arrive.
3 years later...
The twins Apollo and Artemis de Alger Obelia
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Let's pretend Apollo and Artemis eyes are Sapphire Blue jewel)
are now 20 years old and Princess Athena and Athanasia are now both 14 year old their having a debutant ball to introduce them  to all tge nobles along with eveyone who turn 14 years old after the Dance Princess Athena did with the Emperor. Duke Roger Alpheus introduce his niece to the Emperor... and claim Jennette Margarita as the daughter of the Emperor with Penelope Judith.
" Duke Alpheus, it's impossibke for me to be the father of Lady Margarita for it is true she carry sappire blue jewel eyes of the imperial family, but the fact remain that I have never touch Lady Penelope Judith in anyway when she was my Fiancee so I could not possibly have a daughter with her. But she did has intercourse with my brother Anastacius de alger obelia I remember this for fact it is why our engangment to one another became void to moment she slept with Anastacius.
That was when Princess Athanasia de Alger Obelia who's now 14 years old when she saw her father once more and finally meet the rest of her siblings their are the twins Apollo & Artemis who are currently 20 years old and then their's younger sister Princess Athena who is only 5 months younger than her self who is also 14 years old and then their 3 years old  Princess Astrea de Alger Obelia
Tumblr media
Princess Artemis de Alger Obelia took a a drink on her wine when she suddenly cough up blood and the wine in her hand fell down to the floor before Artemis starting to fall down but before her body bcould hit the ground Apollo catch his sister. It was quickly found out that Princess Artemis was poison but luckly the poison was quickly extract before it could do anymore damage to her body.
It took 5 months to find out that Jennette Judith's Aunt, Countess Rosalia Margarita was the one who poison Princess Artemis. And the Empeeror has the countess excuted on the crime poisoning the first princess of Obelia.
It's the first time in 3 years since they arrive to that new world did Dumbledor and others first    witness an excution and they were all shock to see someone get behead for poison Princess Artemis.
This was the time that Athanasia realized that her new life and noval she known Who Made me A Princess are to different with her current life and their are extract characters that didn't belong in the Noval that story of noval can no longer help her in new life. Since the Emperor never fell in love with my mother Diana, she put him under a spell to have me so my very existen is a distain by her father and his family that they pretend I don't even exist.
Heck Jennette isn't even Claude's daughter byt that of the tyrant Emperor Anastacius de Alger Obelia who happen to be the older half brother of Claude de Alger Obelia the husband of Empress Aphrodite de Alger Obelia, who dosen't like me very much because of who my mother is and Claude especially gate me for looking like the woman who spell him to unknowingly cheats on his beautiful Empress.
6 years later...
Athena de Alger Obelia who is currently 20 years old and recently enganged to Ijekiel Alpheus to her father's rage since he dose not want to give away one of his daughters, but Claude de Alger Obelia knows that Ijekiel makes his  daughter Athena happy so he allow it. Like he did with his daughtet Princess Artemis who married Lord lLoyd Andino last year.
By that time Claude and Aphrodite de Alger Obelia already step down as Emperoe and Empress of the Empire their 26 years old son Apollo de Alger Obelia is now the new Emperor 5 months ago. While their youngest daughter Princess Astrea is only 9 years old.
Jennette Margarita is quite jealous that Princess Athena de Alger Obelia the enternal Wisdom of the Kingdom is getting married to man of her dreams. Now all her hope and dreams she want to she with Ijekiel will never come true her shatter. Their is nothing keeping at Obelia and decided to leave so her heart could heal.
