rubiesintherough asked: ❛ you seem somewhat familiar. have i threatened you before? ❜ ( cason )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
COMING ACROSS OTHER beings was not uncommon in her line of work. When she was not in the ER, she was often face-to-face with all manner of supernatural. Each of them held their distinct scents and tells as to which they were, be it vampire, werewolf, siren etcetera. Sima had met pretty much every supernatural species there was, so it was no surprise to her when she picked up that the one coming to address her, was a vampire.
His question raised eyebrows, however. She did not know this guy, had never met him before, but somehow, he found her familiar. She had to think why that would be such the case, along with why he'd said about threatening her over anything else. " I cannot say that we have ever met before, let alone you threatening me. However, I have many questions on why you jump to that conclusion above anything. If you'd have met me before, you'd know that I am Princess of Hell, and threatening me is certainly not a clever thing to do. "
Thankfully, his threatening her was not the current case and having never met before meant that they were still strangers who could at least try an amicable introduction. " All that aside, however, now that we have met, I'm Sima. " With her introduction came the extension of her hand, offering it to him to shake.

The Future is Bright: Embracing Innovation and Compassion in Occupational Therapy
The future of occupational therapy (OT) is shining with opportunities, thanks to technological advancements and evolving healthcare needs. As we prepare to meet the challenges ahead, occupational therapists must continue to prioritize holistic, person-centered care while embracing the innovations that will reshape our field. From virtual reality (VR) and telehealth to assistive technologies, the tools we use to support our clients are expanding—and so is our responsibility to ensure these tools are used ethically, creatively, and effectively.
Tumblr media
Transforming Care Through Technology
One of the most exciting changes in occupational therapy is the integration of technology into everyday practice. Virtual reality is revolutionizing rehabilitation by allowing clients to practice real-life skills in safe, simulated environments. For example, individuals with intellectual disabilities can use VR to practice essential life skills like navigating public transportation or interacting in social scenarios. This allows for controlled, goal-directed activities that mimic daily tasks, providing a safe space for skill development and gradual progress (Levac et al., 2019).
Telehealth has also become a cornerstone of modern therapy, providing increased accessibility to clients in rural or underserved areas. For individuals with intellectual disabilities, telehealth offers a way to receive consistent support while remaining in familiar environments. This has made therapy more flexible and accessible, especially for clients who may have difficulty with transportation or other barriers (Cason, 2020).
Additionally, assistive technologies such as adaptive communication devices and environmental control systems are enabling individuals with intellectual disabilities to perform daily tasks more independently. These tools empower clients to communicate effectively, engage in meaningful activities, and navigate their environments with greater autonomy, thereby improving their quality of life (Smith et al., 2021). The future of OT lies in our ability to integrate these technologies into practice while maintaining a focus on the unique needs and goals of each client.
Building a Strong Foundation for the Future
As a student, I am committed to developing a solid foundation in both physical and psychosocial aspects of occupational therapy. I understand that mastering the technical aspects of therapy is essential, but equally important is the ability to connect with clients on a human level. I have seen firsthand how empathy and creativity can make a significant difference in therapy outcomes, particularly with individuals who have intellectual disabilities.
For example, during one of my placements, I worked with a client who struggled with an intellectual disability. While traditional interventions were effective in building certain skills, it wasn’t until I introduced a fun, engaging activity that I saw significant improvements in the client’s attention and motivation. We used a ball-and-bucket game to improve hand-eye coordination, and the joy and focus the client displayed during this activity showed me the power of combining creativity with therapy. This experience reinforced the importance of considering both the visible and invisible challenges our clients face and finding innovative ways to support their emotional and physical well-being.
Tumblr media
Leadership and Advocacy in Occupational Therapy
The future of OT isn’t just about adapting to new technologies; it’s also about advocating for our clients and the profession as a whole. As healthcare policies evolve, occupational therapists will play a crucial role in ensuring access to care for all individuals, especially those in marginalized communities, such as those with intellectual disabilities. Whether it’s advocating for disability rights, influencing healthcare reform, or promoting inclusive environments in schools and workplaces, OTs must take on leadership roles that extend beyond the therapy room.
As I continue my journey as an OT student, I am actively working on developing these leadership and advocacy skills. I’m learning how to navigate policy discussions and stay informed about the ever-changing landscape of healthcare. In doing so, I hope to contribute to shaping a future where occupational therapy is recognized not only for its therapeutic value but also for its role in driving social change.
Embracing Continuous Learning and Personal Growth
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned so far is that being an effective occupational therapist requires more than just technical knowledge—it requires adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to grow. The challenges I’ve faced during my fieldwork have pushed me to step outside my comfort zone and embrace new ways of thinking. This personal growth has allowed me to become more flexible in my approach and more confident in my ability to handle the unexpected.
I’ve come to realize that the future of occupational therapy is not only about the advancements we see in technology but also about the internal growth we experience as therapists. It’s about reflecting on our practice, continuously learning, and always striving to provide the best care possible for our clients. Whether it’s through improving my clinical skills or refining my approach to patient care, I am committed to being a part of the positive change that is transforming our profession.
A Bright Future Ahead
The future of occupational therapy is bright, filled with exciting possibilities and challenges that will push us to evolve in new and meaningful ways. By embracing technological innovations like VR, telehealth, and assistive technologies, and by focusing on leadership, advocacy, and personal growth, we can shape a world where occupational therapy is more accessible, effective, and impactful than ever before.
As I look ahead, I’m filled with hope and determination to make a difference. The journey may be challenging, but I am ready to face it with an open mind and a passion for helping others. The future of OT isn’t just something to look forward to—it’s something we are actively creating, and I’m excited to be a part of that creation.

Showtown: the museum of fun and entertainment, and Blackpool’s first museum, opens its doors on the iconic Golden Mile on 15 March after six years of development.
Across six interactive exhibition spaces, Showtown is an immersive, behind- the- scenes journey through what makes the seaside town famous. A multi- layered and visually rich experience, the museum celebrates and details the unique Blackpool aesthetic and its richly layered cultural heritage; seaside, circus, magic, show, dance and illuminations, and the entertainers who put the town on the map.
Showtown uses eye-catching graphics and large scale artworks by Alex Williamson who was commissioned by Cason Mann to enhance the experience, visually weaving the museum’s interactive exhibits, objects and stories together.
For this project, Alex worked with visual material from the Heritage Collection; fabulous archives of printed ephemera, old posters, postcards and photography, to create a series of large scale collage artworks that reinterpret the archive materials and help bring to life ‘Showtown’ as an immersive, engaging family experience.
Showtown, the museum, depicts Blackpool as a kind of ‘collage’ formed over time by the collision of so many groups of people and activities: holiday makers old and young, punks and magicians, comic fans and ballroom dancers, acrobats and fortune tellers. The immersive environment created is a historically rich and often chaotic collage of competing signs, buildings, stories and events constantly throwing up unexpected juxtapositions for the visitor.
Traditionally a trip to Blackpool offered a release from the fixed nature of everyday life and work and the museum’s mix of stories, characters, imagery, sounds (and even smells) is curated to capture the jumbled sense of fun and the 'chaos' of a walk down the ‘Golden Mile’, where people let off steam and unexpected adventures are to be found on the piers and in the sideshows, entertainments, dance halls and nightlife.
The collage artworks, which feature throughout the museum as setworks or wallpapers, weave in and out of interactive exhibits and historical artefacts, tying together these overlaid narratives and spaces, visualising the atmospheric social and cultural resonance of Blackpool and its origins as a northern English working class resort.
As one of Blackpool’s favourite sons, Eric Morecambe, puts it in his famous piano-playing sketch, in Blackpool we are always ‘playing the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order’. A statement that describes the experience of and creative approach to Showtown perfectly.
Showtown opens in Blackpool on 15 March

Olivia looked up at Cason for just a moment, eyes sharp, before she dropped her gaze again. “Which one of us is the one with the medical degree?” Sure a little of this was above her pay grade but she could manage well enough. Paramedic and physicians assistant blended well enough along with some of the field medicine she learned in the reserves. Grabbing the bullet, she pulled it out and quickly applied some pressure to the wound. “Just gotta close you up now.” Thankfully, she was able to focus on the task rather than him being shot.

📍𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗔
Tumblr media
So far, so good. No complaints about the food were brought back to the kitchen, which meant the head chef wasn’t being a stickler. It meant a few breaks were well earned with all the hard work put in. Slipping out of his dirty chef’s jacket, he rolls up the sleeves of his white button up -- worn just in case he got the chance to check into the event.
Shooting Ellie a text, he runs a hand through his hair as he scans the area. The atmosphere had a grin growing on his face as he weaved through the crowd. Scanning the crowd, he spots Ellie and taps on her shoulder. “Hello, ma’am. Can I bother you for a dance?”

A smile crosses her features as she turns on the home surround system. She’s not sure where Logan is, but it doesn’t matter. Right now, it’s all about the pizza on the way, ice cream in the freezer, and Flo Rida bumping through the speakers. The music starts to filter into the kitchen as she begins to moonwalk towards the fridge. Lily looks at Cason who’s hunkered on the counter. “What are you drinking tonight? I am no mixologist, but I can mix something. We’ve got beer and hard seltzer. If you’re feel white girl wasted sort of wild, Logan got a case of good tequila. I don’t know how hard you want to get out of your head tonight.” Her smile grows as she looks at her best friend. She was prepared to do just about anything to see him have a good time -- big guns ready and waiting. “We aren’t doing boring tonight. It’s my one ground rule.”

Celebratory Sim Dump!! (the sequel)
I am very very late to do this, but, I'm releasing a sim dump to celebrate 100 followers!! 😄
That's so cool!! Thank you so much everyone who follows, likes, comments, or even interacts at all with my posts!! It means so much to me, really, and I'm so grateful for every interaction, big or small 😁😁
But enough of the cheesy thank yous, onward to the sims!!
Here are eight cc free sims, all Young Adults, for download!! All have two skills set to level three as well as set careers (also at level three). Do as you'd like with them, but I did write out little blurbs for them as a starter 😉😉
~ download (google drive) ~
[sim info below cut]
A little about the sims...
Mara McCoy (she/her) - Friend of the Animals, Cat Lover, Loner, Jealous - Mara ran away from home as a teen and never looked back (was actually a sim I used for a runaway teen challenge that I didn't finish 😅). She prefers plants and cats to people but can occasionally be persuaded to socialize.
Delany Milton (she/her) - Academic Success, Ambitious, Perfectionist, Bookworm - Delany has an intense love of both teaching and learning. She never got the chance to go to college to become a full fledged teacher or professor, but she hopes that one day she'll finally be able to achieve her goals and move beyond her assistant teaching position, or (since it's the sims) work her way up through the ranks.
Jonas Mosher (he/him) - Master Actor, Cheerful, Childish, Glutton - You might recognize him from the teen a day challenge, but now he's a young adult and striving to be an acting superstar! He's still best friends with Courtney.
Courtney Cason (she/her) - Joke Star, Goofball, Unflirty, Erratic - Also from the teen a day challenge! She's on her way to becoming a famous comedian, having started gigs in comedy clubs when she was still a teenager. She's still best friends with Jonas.
Jennifer Nora (they/them) - Archaeology Scholar, Clumsy, Family Oriented, Loves the Outdoors - Jennifer loves archaeology and has dreams of publishing their findings and uncovering ancient artifacts that will cement them in scientific history! They're very close with family and friends (especially their cousin, Blake, who's like a brother to them).
Kellan Stanford (he/him) - Neighborhood Confidant, Gloomy, Outgoing, Lactose Intolerant - Kellan is a very social character. He's always hanging around others, even strangers. There aren't many that can tell you exactly how they met him.. He just sort of appears and is seamlessly integrated into social circles. He's a good sim to know, though, as he's great at giving advice, earning himself the title of neighborhood confidant.
Ernest Porter (he/him) - Master Chef, Good, Foodie, Squeamish - Ernest has big dreams of master chef stardom. However his squeamish and very picky nature tends to lead him more towards baking rather than cooking. One day he hopes to open his own restaurant/bakery combo.
Grant Meade (they/them) - Friend of the World, Loyal, Paranoid, Freegan - A chaotic entity, Grant spends most of their time chilling in whoever's basement they're currently crashing in while crafting conspiracy theories about how the sim world is going to end. Despite their eccentrics, they're a good friend, and will always be the first on the scene should any of their companions need help.

Ooh pink and purple for the get to know the writer asks
Tumblr media
🥰🥰🥰🥰 thank youuuuuuu
Pink: alright, poor Elias doesn’t get enough love but he is my absolute favorite. He is kind of the opposite of me - loud, wild, drunk, chaotic - but also tender, flirty, protective, and an absolute beast. It’s a good balance, and he’s going to push me to be better while also respecting any boundaries I have. He’s top best friend material.
Purple: obviously I could mention all the literal enemies in this series, and maybe we’d be less enemies and just not friends, but Oni and I would absolutely not get along. He would poke all my squishy buttons with his glass fingers until I exploded! He gets along great with Brela, but our interactions would definitely be more like him and Cason together.

Katherine knew what Cason was trying to do. It happened every time that they had some sort of school function or big event. Katherine wasn’t one to hold a grudge or not be polite and well mannered. Their son was the one that mattered the most, he hadn’t seen them fight and she made an effort to ensure that he didn’t. “He is the good thing to come out of the marriage.” She agreed softly as her eyes followed him across the field. “Doesn’t make a difference in how we ended up Cason.” She reminded him softly. It also didn’t change the fact that she was seeing someone else finally.

“Come on, I can’t have been all that bad, we were married.” He pointed out with a smile. “And we do have a pretty great son together, so it wasn’t all bad.”

An update for my Donovan family legacy!
I’ve made the decision that I want to transform this legacy into a Build a City Challenge. I just feel that I don’t have enough drive to keep going without giving myself something more concrete to work towards. Plus, thanks to @melsie-sims and a few others, I am obsessed with BACCs right now. I’m transforming this save in an attempt not to abandon it, honestly.
What this means for the blog:
Updated post banners, post links, and blog links!
More focus on other families!
More concrete goals!
What this means for the gameplay:
Storywise, this is happening because after a year of successful living and in fact, flourishing, this venture has proven to be one worth pursuing. It is only now that there is the option to move in new Sims, though they will have to earn CAS points first.
Some things will no longer be allowed.
Interacting with non playable characters (e.g. “townies” which will be the following previously introduced sims: Orlando and Lucas Dark, Nadia and Lillian McCormick, Crystal and Cason Murdock, and Giselle and Eddie Quinn). I will be able to interact with them again after completing 5 gold level parties, at which point I will also include them in the household count, though not as households that can earn achievements.
Using plopsy will no longer be allowed until a Sim (likely Adelaide) completes the Lady of the Knits aspiration.
Children will be allowed to go to school because one of the possible options for that rule is that you have at least five children or teens in the town (they are all toddlers at the moment, but most were born around the same time. As of the time of writing this, the Donovan’s have two toddlers, the Yamakazi’s have… I think two toddlers and a baby, and the Ralston’s have… some little ones…) at least one Sim has three skills up to a level 6 (which has been done by Lucy).
Electricity can continue to be used, as Lucy maxed out the handiness skill at some point.
Services are now locked until we have ten households in the world. As of right now we officially have three. When we unlock the ability to interact with “townies,” I will count it as having seven households (Donovan, Yamakazi, Ralston, Dark, McCormick, Murdock, and Quinn). Daycare/Nannies will not be unlocked until a Sim maxes out the parenting skill.
Starting in the second year of living in Newcrest, Lucy will take on a job as Mayor. This will keep her away from the home now and the bulk of the household responsibilities (raising the kids, keeping the garden, and tending the animals) will fall to Adelaide.
Rotational gameplay.
Starting in the second year of living in Newcrest, the gameplay will rotate between three families (for now). Those families are (of course) Lucy and Alelaide Donovan, Hiro and Yokota Yamakazi, and Vanessa and Rocky Ralston.
NOTE: I chose these three families to be my main “founders” because Rocky is Adelaide’s best friend and Yokota is Lucy’s best friend, not for any other reason. Upon the writing of this I don’t even remember their traits, so I’m kind of going to have to shoehorn them into the roles I’m deciding for them.
My goals that I hope to work on for the rest of the time we are focusing on these households (and not their children):
Complete the Freelance Botanist aspiration. This will probably be completed by Lucy or Adelaide- I’m leaning Adelaide because Lucy will be busy with the new job and maxing the charisma skill so we can move someone else in, but she will have to finish the Lady of the Knits aspiration first. I want to complete the Freelance Botanist aspiration to be able to open up Sulani as our next world.
Unlocking FOUR community lot types (so that next generation we can move to Sulani):
Museum (need 10 masterpiece paintings (completed by Hiro) and 10 excellent sculptures (Lucy)).
Park (level 10 gardening and 3+ families. The families are already achieved (classified as a parent and a child) by the Donovan, Yamakazi, and Ralston families. Lucy is at level 9 gardening, so hopefully she will be able to max this out during the spring of year two).
Pool (have experienced a heatwave, level 10 wellness and fitness. To be completed by Vanessa).
Spa (level 10 wellness, to be completed by Vanessa).
Personal Note: A “Joker” point, acquired by completing an aspiration, can also be used to bypass ONE of these requirements. For example, if Vanessa has completed the wellness skill but not the fitness skill, a JOKER POINT can be used to allow us to open a pool and a spa at the same time.
Complete the Party Animal Aspiration to unlock the ability to make clubs, which will become important as more Sims are made important to gameplay (to be completed by Rocky).
Have someone (anyone) take up a part time job after townies are unlocked.
(IL) Fisherman: Reach level 10 in the fishing skill.
Perhaps Yokota, as she has been fishing with Lucy multiple times.
Have Vanessa take up a job in the athlete career after maxing fitness.
Have Hiro take a position in the painting career after maxing painting.
What to expect to see soon:
(Re)Introduction posts! Everyone already knows about the Donovan’s (though they will receive a re-introduction post as well to iron out the backstory of Lucy and Adelaide), but these posts are where you will learn more about the Yamakazi’s and the Ralston’s!
Rotational Gameplay: The Donovan family will continue into spring, then pass the torch (and journal) over to the Yamakazi family for the summer, to the Ralston’s for the fall, and back to the Donovan’s for winter (probably. This might change based on newcomers to town. Note, I will probably never play the “townie” families, especially since I am marking them as unable to complete any of the goals for me).
Lots of struggling! I have no idea how I’m going to do at this, so wish me luck!
If you made it to the end of this post… well. More power to you, and I really appreciate it! I hope that everyone can enjoy the new turn that this blog is taking, and that it helps me stick with this save file instead of abandoning it… like I do to all the others… Hell, wish me luck on this one too!

Olivia tried not to cry in front of Cason. Crying didn’t help any thing, a habit she had learned when she was young. The problem was that she wasn’t able to stop herself from bursting into tears again when he came over to check on her. Her arms left Bear and clasped onto him. The words wouldn’t come out even when she knew that she had to tell him. He was here so she wasn’t alone but the thought of having to tell him was almost as bad. Her face pressed tight against his shoulder, trying to take comfort in his presence enough to calm down. She needed to stop crying to be able to talk to him. He was just going to worry more.
