i'm just going to ask this because i want to see if i'm alone on this one or not (and warning i'm going to be explicit because there's no other way)

some days ago one person in my fandom posted a fic about oral sex with the bsd characters and the title was that, like, straight up that sentence. and for the record i thought: well i've seen this concept a milion times already, even me i wrote about this a lot of times, nothing new (i even made a bet with myself saying: surely it's going to be the ''does he prefer to give or recieve'' type of fic that was really popular in anime fandoms years ago lmao)

well in any case, it wasn't that specific fic troupe but it alternated between giving and recieving between certain characters. and as i read through it, even if it was good, i thought to myself once more, bro, i've seen this a milion times already. just pwp, the same concept, since i was 17 or so.

and what a surprise when i check the notes. 700, 37 reblogs.

and my problem with this comes here, because, i feel so frustraetd whenever i try to do the same concept, even if it has been reused 100 of times, just because newer stuff doesn't work well for small accounts like mine, because they get ignored. but suddenly, when another account does the same idea i wanted to do, they get so much interaction? like how do you even manage that? i'm 100% sure i could post the same and not even get 10 reblogs (because it has happened) and suddenly another acc does it and they get so many

i'm a petty bitch ik but like- i dont get it. new stuff doesn't work because it's either too much or it gets ignored, the same concept doesn't work either because it's been seen too many times and gets ignored as well, but would you look at that, a bigger account or even someone who only has 100 followers more than me has that many interactions

then this writers come to you saying that interactions don't matter lmfao

My darling love,, don’t even worry about that, I totally get how you feel, this is pretty much universal since it happens in ALL of the fandoms I guess. This is more common in the HOTD fandom than you think!!

Interactions are absolutely fundamental to us writers. And anyone who says otherwise either doesn’t want to admit it, is trying to cheer you up or smth, or I don’t know — but it’s not wrong at all to admit we not only write for our own satisfaction, but as well for interaction. Interaction is what keeps us motivated to write more things, knowing people will see and appreciate your effort by commenting, reblogging, or liking your work.

In the HOTD fandom it happens the exact same. Maybe you write headcanons, or a one shot with a particular plot for a particular character (or several), and maybe you get... At a maximum, 80 notes. But a popular acc does it? They are exploded in notes. 30 reblogs, 300+ likes, 15 comments. Good for them! But perhaps it’s the same reused plot thousands of times and no one even cares about small writers, they just straight up go praising the big accs and exploding them in interactions, while smaller accs are left out.

And for small writers, seeing people favouring certain accounts more than others, that just lowers your motivation and makes you feel like shit; sometimes even making you want to stop writing. So yes, interactions do matter despite anyone else saying otherwise. And trust me I get how you feel because it happened to me so many times that it made me feel awful, like some people don’t even TRY to focus on smaller, new writers. :/

The more I read and really think about it? The more I'm like "technically yeah" than an actual hard yeah because while I get it's a meme and stuff the things presented can be half truths:

Doom Guy yes 100% in green (except for optional skins in the modern games that doesn't really count) Link 99% green 1% being blue in botw/totk (who also has costumes in those games and therefore also doesn't count)

"Never talks" isn't correct as both have canonically talked, with Doom Guy it's much more explicit and you hear him in Doom Eternal and TDA, with Link you don't outright hear him but he does speak through dialog prompts since ocarina of time and more modern games have given a canonical explanations why recent iterations are selectivity mute like this. So it's not "Never talks" but rarely talks or what I like to interpret as only talks when it's important.

"Intended to symbolize the player" used to be the case for Link in the very older games, Doom Guy has had an established backstory since 1993 but it did I guess have some wiggle room to insert yourself in but 2016 came and wiped that potential insertion away. They've had their own unique identities for years now. They are not self inserts.

This is where they're different, Link is different a different person each time, only rarely getting more than one initial adventure through direct sequels - Doom Guy is the Doom Slayer and Doom Slayer is the Doom Guy, with the exception of Doom 3 (people can fight me on that idc) he has basically been the same person in the games since 1993. I like that approach more with them than a tacked on romance it would've been with the series first woman that isn't in a antagonist role who has her own arc learning how to control her abilities and the Slayer respects her. Being respectful to women and more focused on slaughtering demons is cool👍

Carlonty rant - I understand why a lot of people dislike Carlonty, and at first, I didn't. Then it kinda grew on me, on a rivalry kinda dynamic. I know I know, Carla doesn't like him back, and she highly never will (I mean like??? Obvi she asked to destroy his fucking wheelchair???) But its kinda like a one sided pining that i adore in a lot of ships, if they ever did date it would 100% be for carlas benefit and she would only date him as a way to get something (e.g. the end of things that go boom when she agrees to date him for him to modify the bomb for her). Sjsjs hear me out, I've been thinking a lot about your AU since it came out‼️🗣

However instead of seeing the usual red dough with sharp, red, ruby, eyes; she was instead greeted with pale dough with soft, raspberry eyes instead; confusing the priestess for a moment until she realized what happened.

It shouldn’t be possible but yet… Why did her spell reach White Lily Cookie?

The cookie in the mirror’s reflection was even confused herself for a moment before her expression turned into a neutral one even though her eyes did narrow ever so slightly… No doubt questioning why the priestess was contacting her.

“Can I help you?” Her voice was ever so soft but firmed in tone; clearly wanting an answer from the priestess which the latter might as well humour.

“This was simply a mistake.” Pomegranate answered smoothly; using the sleeves of her outfit to hide her expression. “Although it is a curiosity how the mirror ended up reaching you instead of my master.”

There was a sigh from White Lily as the cookie shuffled before tugging on her cloak and taking a seat in the location of where she was which what Pomegranate could make out was a bedroom which was silver and had various flowers hanging from the ceiling alongside a bookshelves shoved to the side.

“It is certainly strange although the only explanation would be the connection that we both hold.” White Lily hummed; tilting her head to the side and placing her hand near her mouth; clearly thinking over the interaction of the spell which the priestess had to agree.

After all, her master and White Lily were the same soul even if they were so very different from each other as her master was magnificent whilst the ancient hero was insignificant in the slightest with the only noteworthy thing about her the simple fact she held the ‘Light of Freedom’ in her grasp.

This resulted in the priestess scowling at her before ending the spell and the contact; seeing that the conversation was heading in a direction that would have wasted her time as it was clear the hero was naive.

She got up and open the door; her eyes shifting across the room before landing on Poison Mushroom who was fast asleep and being watched over by Affogato Cookie who was reading a book to himself.

Her destiny was set stone and nothing would change that… No matter what…. As it was her destiny…
