I walked downstairs after finishing my eyeliner and walked to the kitchen next to the living room and grabbed a drink of water.

Colby came up behind me whilst I turned the tap on,he rested his head on my shoulder,his hands wrapped around my waist. “Hey baby.” I said smiling and turning around,his hands cornering me against the sink.

I thought back to the day people found out me and Colby were sleeping together,how did this happen? Well exactly that I told everyone whilst I was drunk.

I didn’t mean to and Colby quickly dragged me away and back to Colby’s apartment where I slept and then woke up with memories I didn’t want,texts I didn’t want to reply to,a hangover that made me feel like death was upon me and a not so happy boyfriend.

It soon circled back to my go and I picked up a card,when Sam said it was mostly weird and a little bit sexual he was lying.

It was heavily sexual with much less weird things than probably intended. I picked up my card praying for it to be funny and I sighed.

At this point Colby had accepted defeat and so I had,however for different reasons.

I (21 F) started going back to school recently, I signed up for classes late because it took so long for the paperwork and processes to be finalized. I was taking a speech class in the morning and we had to do a group project in class. Now, I spoke with the professor and told her I did not do well in group projects because I either get treated like literal crap or I do all the work. She said she didn't care, either I join a group or get a 0. Someone (20 M) was watching, we'll call him Ed for clarity. I asked if I could join Ed's group and he said yes. I tried being really nice to Ed and waited for our group members to meet with us after class. He showed me which music he liked and I said it was nice. So, during the entire time period of this project I would meet a lot with my group mates and we'd do the project. It was very difficult because professor wanted over 10 resources and a certain length for the report, then to top it off a PowerPoint we'd be presenting too. Ed did a lot of things to make me feel very uncomfortable, but my group mates ignored it and didn't say anything. He'd talk about how he visited the dark web and looked into hitmen. Then he showed us an intro to a porno. I felt very uncomfortable and mentioned it to the other girl in our group, she said she would talk with the other boys in our group about it (they all had been friends since highschool except Ed) , she said the assignment did require us to find an intro that was terrible, but maybe a porno intro was too much. The assignment in question was basically a research project about why introductions are very important. They ended up choosing some 90's tv show intro, I don't remember which one it was, just that the show got 2 seasons and the intro was too stereotypical for the time. During the time Ed would send me random "hi"s and he added/followed me on all my social media. He would comment on everything and would try to make conversations on them when I wouldn't text back. I kept the texts as bland as possible. Ed just gave me a bad vibe and kept doing shit to make me uncomfortable. Now here's where the autism part comes in. I was talking to a guy I had a crush on instagram and I guess Ed noticed. So Ed basically calls me and asks if I'm not attracted to him because he has autism. I said what the hell and hung up. It made me feel so uncomfortable then he started bringing up his autism on all my photos, posts, tweets, you name it. I didn't know what to do anymore. Ed kept blowing up my phone too. He'd message me every 5 mins and would get mad when I wouldn't answer right away. So back to my crush, Ed messaged him I wasn't interested in dating him! Like dude! So my crush says he doesn't have time for immaturity and blocks me despite me trying to defuse and apologize hundreds of times for that. So I asked for some advice and basically I got that his autism was making him act like that. I don't want to sound ableist, I'm sorry if I give off that impression, but enough was enough. I told him to fuck off or else I'd get the authorities and school involved since what he was doing was harassment. He said he can't harass since he has autism so I told him to shut the hell up about his autism since it wasn't a "get out of jail" card so i finally blocked him everywhere. I don't know if I'm being an asshole or maybe I'm just not patient or equip to handle Ed? Even then, I am in no shape or form attracted to Ed nor was I ever. Now I just never want him bothering me again.

some highlights from the yellowjackets q&a I went to yesterday, hosted by pete chatmon (who is also the director of 306) and featuring the showrunners ashley lyle and bart nickerson, courtney eaton (teen lottie), warren kole (jeff), and jeff byrd (executive producer and also the director of Ep 203 and 305):

ashley & bart came up with the show a little randomly. since they're both husband & wife and a writing duo apparently they would pitch each other show ideas all the time that would go nowhere. ashley specifically remembers the idea of "plane crash, girl's soccer team, cannibalism" happening while they were sitting in a parked car. once they added the adult timeline to the idea, they both were sold on it. ashley liked the idea of doing "my so called life" meets "twin peaks"

the final show pitch was about 30 mins and pitched to several networks. ashley was so sure after the showtime pitch that it was a bust and that the exec didn't like it at all. It turned he was just squinting because he had the sun in his eyes from the window. also, apparently the exec who helped greenlight it is also the one who greenlit twin peaks so full circle moment for sure!

courtney eaton says she is an overthinker and talked about how the biggest challenge when it comes to playing lottie is to shut her brain off since 1) she wants to maintain that vague mystery where we're not sure what's going on with lottie whether it's real or supernatural and 2) since she knows so much about what happens to her in the future and adult timeline, she doesn’t want it to impact her performance too much.) When simone was cast the two went out for dinner to get to know each other to see what connections they could make between each other's portrayals

approving director's cuts of the episodes in season one was really hard since no one had seen the show or knew the tone yet. apparently ashley took an edible gummy before she reviewed every director's cut of an episode back then to help her get in the mindset (too real of her, tbh)

they tend to overshoot nowadays since they like being able to cherry-pick scenes, so some director's cuts of episodes can be 10-20 mins longer the aired version. 

apparently the simone & sammy scene was always intended to be that short, don't know if we'll be seeing much more or either of them the rest of this season either sadly

they do plan a lot of the foreshadowing but admit there are sometimes happy accidents. one of their favorite unintended foreshadowing moments someone pointed out online is that when liz phair's "supernova" plays in the pilot, we see jeff sneaking out of the house just as the line "walk in clouds of glitter" plays

the 306 episode filming went all night, until it was nearly morning. Courtney joked that all-night, on-location shoots help them get in the mindset of the yellowjackets (that they lose their minds a little after midnight) so she enjoys it. they talked about how different it is to shoot on-location too vs. on a soundstage like they did in season two with the cabin (soundstage is less muddy and gross, but also requires a lot more acting for the suspension of disbelief that they're still in the wilderness)

The s2 wrap gift from Courtney, Sophie and Steven was a deck of cards that said "fuck this cabin" on it lmao

the Repo Divorcees commercial in Ep 306 was a writer's room joke that came from the fact that they all watched trash reality TV. they had a day-long shoot for the commercial and even filmed an intro for the show, they got really into it

warren does adlib some jeff lines or deliveries. one last episode was the "are you sure?" after shauna tells him about lottie.

the danny mears guy (that lottie jokes dumped mari for their own cousin) was actually named after one of their producer's assistants and is a real guy. he didn't know about the joke until they aired the episode.

Date: 09/13/2023 In my previous post, I wrote that time in s2 is broken and dead. I was curious if this was true for s1, too… For me the main problem of the last month was the dates in the files (character intros), the date of Emma's death + September 9th mentioned in episode 3, so I tried to consider these as related things. I always was confused by April-September thing, I thought that it is a mistake, but. Probably not. So. Let's break down the first episode! It was a deep dive, I'm not sure how real any of this can be, but (c) Let's divide everything into three parts:

April is not April

Chronology

April 16, which we see hours later that day. Qiao Ling receives an order from an unknown customer.

The goal is to get financial core data of Quede company. Information has to be obtained by diving in Emma, during the last financial settlement meeting before the release of the financial report, 2 days ago, on the April 14th, photo was posted at 10 pm.

Additionally, it is mentioned that there was an earlier photo, but they start with the most recent one so that the information is not “outdated”.

Events take place from April 16th to 17th in the present for Lu Guang. From April 14th to 15th in the past for Emma and Cheng Xiaoshi.

April 14th: 10:00 pm - start of diving. As Emma, Cheng Xiaoshi lived through the events in the company's office and stayed for overwork.

April 15th: About 2:45 a.m. Emma's parents text to her, Cheng Xiaoshi decided to reply.

9-10 am, morning, the meeting began. A conflict situation occurs, the laptop falls, Emma!Xiaoshi is on the floor. Lu Guang records data from the screen - Cheng Xiaoshi returns to the present time.

Later this day. Somewhere later that day, information about the company is leaked, involved people are arrested (news from April 17th)

Before 10 pm: Emma comes home after this day, she realizes that the situation with Quede is a stain on her career, because she was Mr.Zhu's assistant, there is no way for her to find a job in this field anymore.

Lately she discovers messages (02:48, that Cheng Xiaoshi texted) with her parents - this becomes her motivation for a call. It's the same day, still today (今天）- April 15th. This is the reason why we know that the disclosure of the company's affairs occurred on the same day after the meeting.

After 10 pm, before 10:30 pm Emma goes to the train station but runs into Liu Min, agrees to go with him.

About 10:34 p.m Liu Min attacks Emma.

Somewhere between April 15th and 16th. An accident occurs, Liu Min will be left paralyzed.

April 16: At the moment of dawn, Emma jumps from the bridge.

Later this day, Quede Company was suspended (news from the 17th)

Later, Emma's body is found in the river in the evening (mentioned as "yesterday", news from the 17th)

April 17: present 9-10 am: Lu Guang gives instructions to Xiaoshi, they successfully obtain the information, Xiaoshi returns to the “present” time.” Evening, the same day: We receive information about the disclosure of financial fraud in the past tense until the 17th from the news at the end of the ep. Additional note: in these events, there is another Cheng Xiaoshi from the "future" (events of October 22-23), who hides first in Liu Min's trunk, and then on the bridge with Emma. The chronology of events can be written as follows:

So it's clear - Lu Guang himself receives the necessary information about the company on the 17th at 10 am. By that time, Mr. Zhu had already been arrested 2 days ago and the company's activities had been suspended 1 day ago. Precisely because of financial fraud.

Also his reaction to Emma's death is interesting. Okay, that's a guess, but I always had the feeling that he knew she was dead from the very beginning of the case.

2. It's not about Quede

And so, we know that data about the company and financial fraud were already published on the 15th. The question remains simple - why did the mysterious unnamed client need the data, since he would have received it only on the 17th, after information about the fraud in Quede was already made public before they (the client) offered this task/job. So what other events are happening on nearby dates? They're not in the episode, they're in the characters intro. Obviously, the unknown client was unknown for a reason. As we also know, there is a character (or characters, there are 2 signatures on the documents) who are collecting dossiers on the main trio. There is a high chance that all of this is connected. This event takes place from the 14th to the 17th in total. Date on Qiao Ling's file: april 8th Lu Guang's file: april 10th Cheng Xiaoshi's file: april 12th

Documents for Lu Guang should be destroyed on the 17th, for Xiaoshi - on the 19th. This timing is kinda perfect. In my opinion, this task/job came as part of an "investigation" so that the unknown could better study the process of trio's work, understand the abilities of Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang, probably, what their time limits are. So, yes. If we look at it from this side, this is not about Quede, it is not about financial fraud, it has never been about it. This research is to answer questions about the abilities of Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang that remained on the files.

3. April is not April

April is a lie. Events take place in September. Although it’s more likely that the time has already been broken since the first season, and we technically don’t know which one is correct. Although Lu Guang's watch and documents (character dossiers) point to April, real events cannot possibly take place in April for many reasons.

1. 3rd financial quarter This is the main reason. This is stated in the first episode by Qiao Ling, and should immediately raise questions. The third quarter cannot possibly be April, absolutely. Because the following months are considered the third quarter: July, August, September.

2. News, 3rd ep Qiao Ling listens to the news on her headphones. We are not given a name, but the circumstances are the same - we learn that Emma's "suicide" was most likely a murder. Once again, it's September.

3. Cold weather is coming Emma's parents arrive to bring Emma warm clothes and mention that it is getting colder. If it were April, on the contrary, it would only get hotter, but everything is different when it comes to autumn.

4. Murders I am firmly convinced that the numbering of victims does not correspond to the real chronology. Yes, we know that there were more victims, and Emma was never "first", I mean those cases that were consolidated by the police and are in Xiao Li's documents. We have dates for an early murder in April, Emma being somewhere in the middle of that "break", since she was killed in both “April” and “September”, and there were murders after her, where the month was not indicated. Which once again points to the fact that something is wrong with these two months. Now things are going to get confusing, we consider April like September here. I can't see and understand details, so I'm only able to find the dates, since the numbers can at least be distinguished. Emma is considered the first murder only by number (died "April-September" 16th), but number 4 (Zao Cai, a blond man) died before her, "April-September", 2nd. In the folder, her documents go after his case. I think the fact is that initially the police believed that Emma committed suicide; at first, her case was not classified as a part of a series of murders, so police did not assign a chronological fifth number, but later, with new clues, simply moved her old documents in the "correct" chronological order to fifth place.

This technically makes Emma a 5 case… Or even a 6th. Because case 6 (Nan You) is also not without mysteries. The date of death is 14. I'm not sure why they put her file after Emma. Maybe they're unsure of the date or something and it's just an estimated date? So her date of death also “fell out of space.” But if 14 is correct, then this girl died 2 days earlier than Emma herself, and Emma technically becomes case 6.

The eighth case (Zhao Lin) occurs on 25th. The mystical 7 case is somewhere before that date, but we don't know how much of this is actual April or September.

In addition to mysterious 7th case, we also have 3 other earlier victims. They had to die before "April-September" 2nd, so the time of their death is roughly "March-August". We haven't seen their documents, but we know about their cases because of the photographs (the girl in the pink suit is probably the girl with the dog from ep11, since the BG is the same)

And also Xu Shanshan.

Who technically didn't die due to the time loop, but most likely "died" (since Lu Guang was thrown out) in the original events, which was still visible for Lu Guang in the unaltered photo.

I mentioned this in the post about s2 - the interesting thing is that Xu Shanshan's phone, as shown in s2, does not have a single photo from May to the end of October (current events with unknown date), which is quite. Strange.

All the murders had to happen with the similar style and certain time frame that they could be connected as a series. Given the news about Xu Shanshan: it was written - no new murders had occurred for several weeks (数周未出现新的受害者), which fits the September-October period (s1 ends at October 23). So we know for sure that the last cases with unspecified months should have occurred in September.

So. Obtaining financial information as a goal does not make sense, "someone" studies our main characters at the "perfect time", and all the dates are intertwined and have inaccurate implications. Like, almost half a year was literally “stolen” from time? Or something similar. The dates are so deliberately strange that I am speculating solely that time was broken from this point already, not even in s2 - what happened can only be speculated for now until we are told the background of Lu Guang's story. And who is the real 7th victim if April and September are mixed up, and the time has been “changed”. The funny thing is that everything also connected to the birthdays: April 15th - Cheng Xiaoshi's birthday September 16th - Qian Jin's birthday October 23th - the day Lu Guang was stabbed, exactly before his birthday Maybe I understand something incorrectly and I'm going down the wrong path altogether. Just in the First 10 Minutes

Decided I need to speed rewatch the first couple of episodes of Secret Relationships to pay closer attention and really process my thoughts about Sung-hyun before watching episode 4 tomorrow.

My biggest goal is to determine "What did Sung-hyun actually know?" and "When did his feelings start to develop?" as I feel those are critical for any analysis.

I should also point out - these findings won't necessarily change whether I like Sung-hyun or not. I have plenty of both green AND red flag characters I LOVE and ADORE (and a whole lot of in-betweens). I actually prefer all of my characters with a few good flaws. Messy characters are good entertainment (imo). I just like calling a spade a spade.

Even in the first ten minutes of episode 1, there have been some fun things I've noticed.

We definitely have a scene still to come where both Sung-hyun and Da-on are crying. The other two scenes in the intro part we've already seen in the first three episodes (pretty sure). They were set up purposely to make us initially think Jae-min was nice (putting on a scarf) and Su-hyeon was violent (hitting with the bottle).

2.Da-on refers to all three of them as light; however, the imagery of the opening definitely sets Sung-hyun in a different spot than the other two. Religious iconography aside (because this positioning is reminiscent of a LOT of religious portraits), Sung-hyun is the only one shown below Da-on. He's also wrapping his arm around Da-on. Su-hyeon is standing to the side with his hand on his shoulder. Jae-min is standing behind with his hand on top of Da-on's head. (For those into religious iconography, Jae-min is in white in the position that God or an archangel would hold.) There's a lot to say about lighting here, the fact that all three have hands grabbing him, or even the line Da-on uses "Can I be greedy towards them?". After all, they are clearly the ones grabbing him. With "levels" being brought up multiple times so far, I'm sure the leveling here is intentional.

3. Sung-hyun is definitely set up as the white knight even in the first ten minutes, and my current central question about Sung-hyun is already presented within the show itself.

This begets our question. Is he being good for good sake? Or does he enjoy playing the white knight? These ARE different things. There's definitely not enough evidence in the first ten minutes.

But the more interesting thing I'm noticing is that it's NO WONDER I'm feeling all types of confuzzled.

Some of you know that I'm currently working through my first watch of Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo (no spoilers please, I've only completed ep 6).

Let's look at the parallels between these two shows from the first TEN minutes of episode 1.

We have a main character trying to overcome family trauma due to a crappy dad.

That has complicated relationships with money.

Who are both into architecture...

Because isn't everyone in BL land?

Who don't like other people interfering...

particularly in their business. (Do-hoe uses the word nosy too to describe Ju-yeong in a different episode.)

There's also expensive gifts being given (wallet/watch) and a few other fun dialogue parallels. IN THE FIRST TEN MINUTES.

Note: I am NOT saying these shows are actually anything alike. These shows do not really have the same themes or central conflicts (as of yet). Moreover, Let Free the Curse is an excellently made, thought-provoking show with layers and layers of meaning and a ton of partial viewpoints. Secret Relationships is a guilty pleasure makjang/yaoi throwback. I really enjoy both types, but I typically approach them differently in terms of analysis and character expectations.

I am saying - I'm going to forgive my brain for overthinking things. It's hard to turn my brain off when the same phrases and set-ups that have SO much meaning in one show are being used in the same week by another show in a way that probably has no deeper meaning at all. My brain is going to start seeing things even if nothing is there. It's like the unintentional coffee symbol crossovers thanks to When It Rains.

Anyways. Onward in the speed rewatch to see if I can figure out just where our boy Sung-hyun stands on the white knight spectrum. He 100% crosses boundaries, but is it within genre norms? is it more? is it benign? is it not? is it needed to counter Da-on's trauma? or will it exacerbate the trauma? These are the questions I'm pondering.

If he wasn't you wouldn't have married him. Your new husband Jinyoung lifts you up and twirls you around and you laugh, a sound clear as water. You smiled brighter when you were with Jinyoung, laughed harder, moved with more energy. Seokjin knew he had lost. Still he couldn't bring himself to be angry. You were happy. That was all that mattered. When he lost you years ago he'd signed up for a life on the sidelines and now he had to bear the consequences.

The song ended and you let your husband go. Seokjin walked over to you right after gathering all his courage and swallowing the frog in his throat. "dance with me!" you said before he could. He couldn't find any words so just took your hand and walked you back to the dancefloor. once you've found your rhythm and are softly rocking back and forth on the shiny floor of the gorgeous venue, he finally finds his voice. "Are you happy?", He asks. "of course", you beam. "Just wanted to make sure", he says almost whispering. your smile drops: "are you okay?" you ask concerned. "When you're with me always". "You need to let me go Jin". He sighs, tears welling up in his eyes: "I'm sorry". It's the last thing he says before walking away out of the venue into the night. He'll take enough with this. As long as you're in his life he would never truly be unhappy. He'd be the dry dust of the savannah spending his time waiting to be blessed by your rain. He'd be the moon yearning for the moments he could take some of your sunlight every once in a while. If this was all the both of you could be then that's how it would be.

MIN YOONGI

You were dancing with Mr. Fleatwood again. Yoongi knew he'd been courting you for more than 10 months now. It was killing him. Why couldn't he just work up the courage to ask you. To go to your house as a caller instead of just waiting for you to look in his direction. His family was much wealthier than yours so there was no need for him to be embarrassed, and yet he was. Something about your divine beauty, your quick wit and sharp intelligence made him a nervous wreck.

"why don't you ask her to dance? What's the worst thing that could happen?" Namjoon, his best friend had come to stand next to him, his wife on his arm. "She could look at me". "oh you melodramatic piece of work!" Namjoon's wife exclaimed. Yoongi sighed melodramatically: "I'm too late, she's been courted by Mr. Fleatwood for over 10 months. A proposal can't be far away". "exactly!" Namjoon said with a smile Yoongi found way to optimistic looking. "they've been courting for over a year and no proposal yet. They're taking too long. If you ask me, she's trying to shake him off". "I've learned not to ask you things", yoongi chuckled, but while his friend walked of he considered what he had said. Maybe he did have a chance. "worst case scenario she dumps her glass over your head. It's a hot summer night, it'll be refreshing. Just go for it before I do it for you", Namjoon's equally optimistic wife whispered near his ear. All right then, here goes nothing. Yoongi walks over to you. "Miss, might I have this dance?" "If you take me away from that bore of a Mr. Fleatwood you can have anything", you smiled.

KIM NAMJOON

Namjoon's watching you on set. He came here to surprise you at work. This way he could drive you home to the dinner he made for you. When you told him you would be acting in a romantic comedy he thought he would be able to handle it. Turns out he couldn't. Your co-star just threw you on the bed and was crawling over you. When he kissed you Namjoon decided it was time to take a bathroom break.

When he comes over the scene is done and you're getting ready to leave. "Hey honey!", you beam at him. "Yeah, hey honey", he huffs. "What's up with you?" you ask frowning. "Nothing, I'd just like to get home", he answer dramatically looking away from you. You chuckle and figure you have an idea about what's going on here. "okay, okay, I'm almost ready". When you're out of costume you leave with Namjoon to the parking lot. He doesn't say anything the whole way. When he starts driving and you look over to him to see him angrily sticking his tongue in his cheek you can't take it anymore. You try to hold in your laugh while you ask him: "Are you upset about the scene?" "Don't laugh at me", he says curtly. "Oh come on Namjoon don't be ridiculous, it was only a scene for a movie". Namjoon dramatically looks out the window. "Would it help you if I told you that my co-star is an absolute dick that I can't stand?" "Would that be true or just something to shush my hurt feelings?", Namjoon says with a small smile on his face. "It would very much be true". "Do you need me to beat him up for you?" You laugh: "I shouldn't have to ask you things like that, you should just do it". "I prepared a date for us", Namjoon says after laughing: "I'm sorry I overreacted". "It's okay, I get it".

JUNG HOSEOK

You're sitting in front of him at the restaurant you agreed on. Next to you is your boyfriend and next to him is his girlfriend. God how he hates this. Why did he agree to go on this double date? Why was he dating Jinae? He didn't love her. Why were you dating this douchebag? He didn't love you and Hoseok didn't even want to think about the possibility that you truly loved him. Lastly, why oh why was he not the one next to you? You should be dating him. Hoseok was sure he could give you everything you wanted, make you so much happier than he could. He saw the way your boyfriend looked at other women. How he made little comments that made your smile drop. Hoseok had spent this entire date moping and barely talking. "So how long have you been dating again?", your boyfriend asks. "eeuhm...", Hoseok hesitates just long enough to make it awkward before Jinae saves him: "almost a month". An awkward silence falls before you ask your boyfriend to go dance with you. Oh God that's right, this godforsaken restaurant has a dancefloor and romantic music playing. Your boyfriend manages to catch himself right in time but Hoseok saw he was about to roll his eyes. He would never do that. If you asked him to to dance with you he would be the happiest man on earth.

You're on the dancefloor slow dancing with your boyfriend and Hoseok stares holes into the back of your head while ignoring his girlfriend next to him. He knows he's being horrible to her. That she doesn't deserve this, but he couldn't stand to be alone while you were with someone. "they're so cute. Do you think we could ever be like that?", Jinae asks with an endeared look in her eyes. "no". "What is up with you? Why did you bring me here, you've been ignoring me all night", Jinae sounds clearly offended. "I don't know, I think we should break up".

PARK JIMIN

You're laying on your couch watching some romantic movie. An empty container of ice cream is laying on the floor in front of you and the tear streaks are still clear on your face. You and your boyfriend just broke up. Apparently He couldn't handle your close friendship with Jimin. It had started with him making sly remarks towards him and ended with him accusing you of cheating. Doors had been slammed and tears shed but it was over now, for good. You'd gone straight home and hadn't contacted anyone. you Just wanted to be alone.

All of a sudden your shaken awake by the ringing of your doorbell. After blinking your sleep away you get up to open the door. On the way there you look at the clock and see it's 2am. The bell rings again right before you open the door. Jimin almost falls onto your floor. "What are you doing here?" You ask softly. Jimin leans against the wall and manages to slur out: "You've ruined my life". He smells of alcohol. "Jimin, what are you talking about?" "I can't stop thinking about you and your stupid boyfriend. I haven't been able to stop thinking about you for years and now you have this idiot of a boyfriend. I hate him. he's so pretentious. You should be with me because when you're not it burns and I need you to make it stop. I know you love him. I know I don't have a chance with you. You're so smart and he's also smart and I'm not. You always talk about how amazing he is and I can't fucking take it. Maybe I should get out of your life, it hurts too much". All of this was rambled and a lot of it incomprehensible. after a moment of silence and Jimin trying to stay standing by holding on to the hallway mirror you say: "We broke up". "Come on Jimin, you can sleep on the couch and we'll talk tomorrow". "Okay, I love you", Jimin slurs while following you to the living room.

KIM TAEHYUNG

Your new fiancé has been proudly strutting around all night with you on his arm. You're gorgeous as always. His name was Dokyeom and he was annoyingly perfect. He was everything you deserved and everything Taehyung wasn't. You were the heiress of your mothers company and so you were always meant to marry the son of a rich family. That wasn't him. Taehyung came from an average family. The only reason he was here was because he was your best friend and you invited him to every single one of these events.

Dokyeom puts his arm around your waist, pulls you closer and Taehyung almost recoils. He couldn't take this. He had to get out of here. Since you were teenagers he'd been in love with you. Never once did he say anything. It would ruin your friendship with no point because he's always known you were to marry rich. And the worst part about all of this; you were happy. This would be so much easier if you hated Dokyeom. If you called Taehyung every night to complain about the horrible man your parents had arranged you to marry, but you didn't. You liked your fiancé.

He left. He had to. On his way out he asked one of your mutual friends to tell you he was sorry. He was just about to step out the door onto the street when he heard you call his name. "Taehyung, where are you going so early?" "oh, I'm just tired. Thought I'd head out early". "Without saying goodbye?" He hated this look on your face. Your face had fallen when he said that and now he felt horrible. You frowned and said: "you normally love these things. What's really going on?" He figured there was no point in lying. Maybe Namjoon had been right when he said that the best thing to do would be to be honest with you. So here he went; finally taking his chance after almost 10 years. "I can't do this Y/N. I can't watch you marry that guy. I love you. I love you so much and yet I can't stand to watch you be happy with someone else. I can't keep hurting myself.

"Run away with me", was all you answered.

JEON JUNGKOOK

He was going to kill that guy, and after that you. No, he would never do that; he loved you. He was just mad. Earlier tonight you had fought. You wanted to go out with your friends but when Jungkook saw the dress you were wearing he told you to change. It turned into a fight. You said he had no right to tell you what to wear and he had accused you of not respecting him. In hindsight he'd realised you were right. So now he was here at the club he knew you were at, to apologise. He didn't want to wait until you were back because then he'd be asleep and he knew that you wouldn't talk about it the next morning.

When he arrived he'd spotted you after a mere 2 seconds of looking at the dancefloor. You were dancing closely with some guy. He had his hands all over you but you seemed to drunk to realise. A couple seconds later you seemed to sober up a bit and told the guy to back of. He didn't of course. This was Jungkook's cue to step in. He marched up to the guy and pulled him away from you. "When a lady says back off, you back of alright you piece of filth". He wrapped his arm around your shoulders, "let's go home Y/N". "Okay, but I'm still mad at you". "Yeah about that", he lead you out of the club while saying: "I'm sorry about that, you were right I totally overreacted". He opened the car door for you and then went over to the driver's seat. "You should be able to wear what you want, I'll shut up about it next time". "Good". You said curtly. After a few minutes of silence you softly said "I'm sorry I stormed out without solving the argument". He looked over and smiled, "Forgiven and forgotten".

Reflection: From the first two weeks of my challenge, I’ve come to two conclusions: I need to push myself more & be strategic. I’m a bit disappointed that I haven’t progressed much and seem very behind on my schedule. To finish and self-edit 10 short stories by mid-August, I need to check one off my list about every week— not every month. Good writing does take its time but it needs to be efficient time. I had successful days where I was determined, prioritized writing, and felt inspired; but I also had many failed days where I was busy, uninspired, or just couldn’t sit down and write. Every writer has their I-dread-writing days, and I can’t expect to have a words-magically—flowing-from-my-fingertips session every time I sit down. However, I can’t make progress if I don’t push myself. My biggest challenge has been my perfectionism. I know perfection comes with process and it’s unrealistic to wait for my writing trances to work towards my goals. But, sometimes, I can’t even let myself write a bad page without completely trashing it and deeming it un-editable. I need to become comfortable with bad writing, trust in my editing skills, and find ways to navigate my perfectionism. Instead of focusing on how long I write, I want to focus on how much I write and the act of sitting down every day and getting something down. I need to build a habit of sitting down at the same time every day, and make writing less daunting by pulling out my Google doc or notebook paper every handful of time I get. 10 minute car rides. 5 minutes before lunch. Even in the bathroom if I have to. I need to get myself in the writing rhythm. My goals for the next two weeks are: writing everyday and making habits. I also want to finish the story I’m currently writing, finish a poem, & make progress with another story.

Mon - Pretty Cure Max Heart - EP 10 - 12

It's the beginning of the double figures, which should hopefully mean things are going to be picking up slightly, our intro phase should surely be over?

EP 10

Firstly, the frig kind of school bus allows those kind of windows? Second, there's an obvious plot thread we'll be rolling back around to at some point or other.

A plot point that has very much taken a backseat and what feels like a cameo appearance despite sharing a classroom.

The Precure art of convenience! Another matter be damned, the team will find a way to be in the same area, somehow.

For some reason, Luminous got an extended animation for her attack? Item? Summon? thing but over all she still did nothing but appear, transform, power up the finisher and called it a day...

And that makes three, that was fast.

Nagisa's new motto this series should be, it's the thought that counts... XD still, that low key savagery off Porun.

EP 11

That on the spot analysis and evaluation, despite playing was not a skill I was expecting Nagisa to posess.

You are the Captain, the group team shot shows you have plenty of subs, just bench the pair. In a match like that, not only do they not deserve to be playing, they've been warned once already, they're a liability to the team. Not to mention the discipline and reflection that would come with it.

Ha, they definitely beat Pokémon to the punch with that design, even if structure used is different.

Yet, this is pretty much Luminous first proper battle and egads has the animation quality just plummeted into the ground o.O

And once again the Principal and Vice Principal are missing o.O They were everywhere in the previous series when it came to school events.

Queen's Chairect... awkward name but smart design. That was a lot of nuggets, not that Seekun explained why she had to go last? But it is certainly one way of cutting down ya cast size.

EP 12

The Precure magic of making sure the team are all nearby strikes again.

XD Even the baby goat is helping out! It's the ranches own goat but it practically became the mascot for the outsider team.

That's quite a compliment really, Honoka never said that about any of the others. And that brings us to four! Who the heck are these four in the context of things and the last series, if these dark warriors were about prior, where were they? what have they been doing? Dark King already had his three seeds? Where do they stand in the pecking order exactly?

These three eps were actually quite weak, despite offering all these new plot threads, characters and devices...the fights are so bad at the min, they are tedious to watch and that's a shame because they were quite inventive at the start of Futari Wa.

Plus the very open parallels between Mirai/Liko/Ha-chan, however Hikari is such a second thought, she's the backseat to almost everything, even the intro does her no justice, despite also being the plot McGuffin, Hikari is being handled alot more poorly than Ha-chan was..

Just rewatched Astro Boy 09 & man I think the art style choice was good for the times but hoooo I forgot especially after rewatching 03 Astro in Japanese coming straight from that episode 50 into that mess how disappointed English speaking fans would be. I think the writing & some line deliveries weren’t the greatest which is what made the movie weak. More like some dudes fanfiction than an AB movie. But also idk if that’s fair bc I’ve read some rlly top notch AB fic soooo yeah 🤷🏻‍♂️ but also lemme just rant for a min there’s parts of this movie that rlly rlly work & I love I think some of the subtle quick ways were shown Astro’s powers like when he first learns he can fly & then directly afterwards starts digging thru the side of the mountain is great. Also unpopular take prob but I think the president Stone guy kinda works as a surface level AB villain. Def 🤮🤮🤮 @ Tenma’s design ever since I saw the movie in 2010 I’ve always hated bros design but like who doesn’t at this point this is rehashing old news. Also I get that Nic Cage knew the source material & is good on screen but idk if it was his delivery or just his lines written that poorly or if I’m relooking at this post round 2 of 03 anime for me but his char was so off. Also DEF AFTER 03 anime the war between robots/humans getting boiled down to the goofy RRF bots bruh I’d be so pissed if I worked for the companies involved in making this movie. YOU HAD GOOD SOURCE MATERIAL IF U CANT FIT IT ALL IN THE MOVIE DONT INCLUDE IT!!! Also alsoooo again prob reiterating old news but the Amerification & dumbing down of the source material to be more palatable for kids is just sad. Like the movie would’ve functioned exactly the same without a few of those goofy scenes it just stalled the story honestly. You could’ve added more of the other stuff in if that was taken out. Also weird using Tenmas Japanese last name but Ochans English name was always kinda huhhh?? to me. I get it’s for the ease of being able to say their names for everyone outside Japan but if we’re going English names why not just stick with whatever Tenma’s name was in English in the animes since people already knew it?? I kinda prefer Tenma tho & ik not everyone can say Ochanomizu but yeah. The surface kids I used to think in my kid brain were waaaay more fleshed out than they rlly are which is kinda funny since they literally just show up & are there a handful of scenes, handful of lines & then that’s it. I’m torn too bc idk if it was necessary to have the new kids or work in Tamao, Kenichi, & Shibugaki somehow & I liked the new kids too. But man this movies a hot mess. I prob have more thoughts but this posts getting way too long already. This movie was my intro to the franchise when I was a kid & legit did not know what anime was or that a whole thing existed outside of this movie xD I literally always used to wish there was & then like 10 yrs ago at this point after being deep into anime I found out about Astro Boy anime/manga & straight went:

So in conclusion Astro Boy movie ok, has deep place in my heart, animes waaay better & manga: god tier.
