Helllllo Cal!! I saw that you like when you have some asks that have shorter requests because they help break up the larger ones so here I am with some short requests!

“Where do you think I sent the vampire under my control?” Athena lies through her teeth.
Pruitt’s expression goes slack.
“That’s right,” Athena says. “You made a monster, didn’t you? You’d better hope you can find May before it’s your family in trouble. He doesn’t have great impulse control.”
Harry looks at her, eyes wide with incredulity and horror. He looks at her like she’s a monster. Like he buys the lie; which probably only helps sell it to Pruitt. Whatever. Let her be a monster for a little while. Whatever it takes to get her daughter back.

Chim turns and retches onto Madame Mollard’s lawn.

Eddie drives the kids back because Chim is too catatonic to drive. He rides in the passenger seat of Buck’s Jeep, feeling pathetic. He’s the captain. He’s the leader. He’s not supposed to be the one freaking out, puking in public, scaring his kid, and rendered too useless to drive. He’s not even the one that just saw their death warrant! Buck seems way more put together right now. Buck!
They don’t talk. So maybe Buck is doing worse than he seems. Buck always talks. But they’re driving in absolute silence. What would Chim even say? Sorry for killing you, back then and whenever it happens again?

She inhales sharply, but nods. So Bobby steps forward, cups her face in his hands, and kisses her. He tries, as much as is possible, to make it a kiss worth over 3,600 absent good morning kisses.

“I need to say something,” Athena confesses later, as they’re drinking coffee and eating breakfast.
Bobby gives her a slight look of hesitance.
“Okay,” he nods.
It’s not that he doesn’t want to hear what she has to say. He does. Anything she wants to talk about, he wants to hear her speak. Except, she doesn’t need to do this, if this is what he thinks it is. She doesn’t need to confess to anything. Whatever or whoever… It’s fine. It’s not like he spent ten years out of Marcy in a chaste period of mourning. By then, he’d found Athena. Married her.

“I know we like working together,” Hen says. “And I know we’ve been having fun. I’m lucky you came back and replaced Chim, because I know there are way, way worse options.”
Eddie looks at her.
“But that doesn’t mean this is easy,” Hen sighs. “Just because we’re friends, doesn’t mean it’s easy for either of us. Maybe we’ve been sweeping that under the rug. I don’t know.”
“Yeah,” Eddie says quietly. “I’ve… I guess, yeah. It’s been a lot of change lately.” Hen nods. “So much. I… Admittedly, it’s been too much for me.”

Maybe that’s what Eddie likes about her. Maybe he’s just done with younger siblings.
Adriana thinks about Maddie’s request. A party. A surprise party. For her brother. In Los Angeles. The brother she’s only seen a handful of times since he left for that noisy fucking city. The brother who went from tucking her in at night and being the only person in the world who told her she was enough to… To just gone.
Hi, Maddie, Adriana types back. Are you sure he wants me there? It’s a nice thought, but he might not.
She locks her phone and swallows back what feels like tears threatening to make an appearance. She doesn’t need this today.

“A baby?” Buck demands. “A human baby?”
Maybe he means a baby cat. Or a baby dog. Don’t terrible people sometimes leave kittens and puppies in cardboard boxes at the side of the road?
“A human baby!” Eddie hisses. “Addressed to you.”
Addressed to him? What? No! No. He had so many years of sexual promiscuity where this could have happened. It doesn’t get to happen now!

The team likes him. Respects him. Before he even introduced himself they heard Silver Star and Medal of Valor and made assumptions in his favor. He doesn’t like being that guy. But he supposes it’s better than preassumed disrespect.
The nature of today’s call gives him pause, though. A big fire. Potentially a wildfire, if things go wrong. He hasn’t dealt with anything this big yet. He’s just glad he’s not the first to arrive.
Although, once he learns who was? It doesn’t make it much better.
“Engine 114 was first on the scene, Captain Buckley is IC,” Dispatch tells him.
Captain Buckley is IC.
Buck is the incident commander.

my thoughts on The Murderbot Show:
idk man
#i pressed play with the same energy you'd get from someone trying to disarm a bomb#it looks fun enough. and the changes are fine. i guess#i think i'm still hung up on the CGI#i dont. like it.#which is nothing new tbh this is why i rarely watch live action stuff#i want to say that i would have liked it if i wasn't so attached to the books already. but idkkkkk#my vision for the scavengers reign style murderbot show seems to hinder my ability to enjoy the show's visuals. rip i guess#the murderbot show#murderbot#mbtv#i think i'll try and write down my proper thoughts once the entire season has released bc#uuuuuugh so far my biggest concern is how they're handling the whole "space hippies PresAux'' thing#like. i wouldn't be surprised if them presenting PresAux in such an unserious manner is so viewers can be surprised once they#get down to proper business or whatever. at least. that's what i'm hoping for#but i also wouldn't be surprised if the adaptation just. dumbed them down a bit. for some reason#same with whatever's going on with Mensah. i feel like i just haven't seen enough of the changes to form a concrete opinion on that#i love how they did Ratthi. he's perfect 10/10 no notes#i enjoy what they're doing with Gurathin (even though i very much preferred 2nd gen immigrant Gurathin whose knowledge of the CorpRim#comes from horror stories passed down by his parents) (that's still my book interpretation of him)#Still torn on Pin-Lee and Arada getting with Ratthi like. yknow what actually i don't care about that one.#i prefer to keep my romances fully in the background + in fanworks but. who gaf#uhhhh what else is there#oh god i fear the day that blond lady comes on screen. i hope to they handle whatever's going on there well#i'll forgive the crime of adding her uncomfortable comments to the show if someone tells her off for all that!!!!!!!#and while i enjoy the visual style of sanctuary moon. i'm still surprised it seems to be some space adventure show?????#i was expecting it to be more of a legal drama or something. with moodier visuals but. whatever i guess that's a small detail#i'll be fine as long as we have the solicitor and her bodyguard#mmm yea i don't have anything else for now. send post#ramblings

I’m the anon who sent you that ask about Sonic and Shadow’s relationship in the Chronic Sonic au. If your post saying you ignore long asks was directed at me, can you please just… post the latest version without answering? I would prefer to save it to my likes and maybe have other fans read my thoughts.
thank you
Well no, it wasn’t just directed at you, there are a couple long asks in my inbox (some of which are positive and very beloved and i cherish, Dopambles I’m looking at you <3). But you’ve sent your ask twice now and this one too so I’ll answer this one. I don’t really want to make this a big long thing, but I also don’t really wanna leave ya hanging when this seems so important to you so lets do this (everyone else can ignore this if ya want I’m going long-winded through everything.)
So, reasons i don’t like to respond to or even post long asks sometimes lets do this [cracks knuckles]
1. I don’t like posting things onto my blog that I haven’t checked over first. I struggle a lot in reading and comprehending long asks. I don’t know why, it’s weird, okay. Let’s leave it at that. I’m not gonna blindly post walls of texts to my blog without checking them over first, because I want to make sure I’m filtering asks so nothing harmful gets posted to my blog. You’d be surprised at how whack a lot of anons can get. Not to say your ask was whack, but I also am struggling to read it so it’s hard to say for sure! It’s not due to the nature of your ask, it is simply because my brain be like dat.
2. Sometimes, I just don’t like having to scroll through walls of texts that aren’t my own to get to my latest posts. I get a lot of asks as it is. I do love answering them, but when they get long, the amount of time it takes to scroll through em makes it hard to refer back to my previous posts and is just is not intuitive or fun when interacting with my own blog, which leads me to my next point
3. This is my space. My blog is by me for me. I choose to post and share to interact and have fun with other people but at the end of the day this blog is my space. I did not create it for anyone other than me. I welcome the people who find joy in my stories here, but this remains my space. If i was being paid for this it’d be different, I’d absolutely curate and change things to make it a better and easier experience for those that i charged to be here, but like… I’m not being paid for this? And to ask me to do what you want in my space so that you can have the experience you want is… i dunno it sounds a little entitled. (I’m not saying that you ARE entitled, only that it sounds like it to me personally.) Contacting me even after I expressed my difficulty in answering asks to try and convince me to post it for your sake is a little rude. I’m not a professional creator, I’m not a person with fans, I’m just a random dude trying to have a good time with other people on a dumpster-fire website. I’m not a creator trying to make sure everyone else is having a good time. This is what i do in my free time to relax and—
4. —being a moderator for other peoples hc’s and conversations is not personally relaxing to me. My blog is not a public confessions blog and I am not a public message board. I am honoured when people share their personal stories and how what I doodle has helped them feel seen and that things will be okay, but I’m not a place for other people to come say what they want to each other, I’m a person, not a message board. How other people use Tumblr is up to them, however, I am not going to change how I use tumblr so that you can have a better experience when it will make the experience worse for me.
5. If i answer asks, I don’t draw. And I like drawing. If I’m posting asks (even without answering them) and stressing about being the middle man in conversations that I will have to regulate to make sure conversations stay kind, that takes a lot of time and energy and I got so incredibly burnt out when i tried to do that. So i stopped. And I will not be starting up again simply so you can have a good time, because I will have a bad one. And this is my space to not have a bad time. If something stresses me out, I will not do it here, it is as simple as that. I have my whole irl to be stressed about.
These are some of the reasons I don’t like to post long asks. I have notified you that I struggle to read, I don’t understand why you continue pushing. I have amazing anon’s who send wonderful long asks who have been kind and considerate with me about my struggles reading and processing. They continue to send their wonderful asks and have assured me it’s okay if I never post them. I am confused as to why you cannot seem to respect my decision as well.
The final reason regarding my hesitance in posting your ask in particular is simply that your hc was not accurate to how I was aiming to portray the characters in the current timeline. You are more than welcome to hc and speculate, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but I cannot simply post it without answering it like you suggest because I would need to clarify that it’s not true. When I used to do that, people would start to misinterpret my au’s and it stressed me out. It takes hours for me to write up responses to things sometimes because I want to make sure I’m being kind and thoughtful and accurate. I am honoured that you shared something personal but what you wrote is simply not where the characters are at right now. It could be them in the future, but it is still early in the au so that kind of resentment hasn’t set in yet. Shadow is hurting because he’s taking the brunt of Sonic’s negativity but he is resigned to it because for him nothing else matters as long as Sonic stays alive, even if he has to be the person Sonic hates in all this and that is heavy. He’s angry at him when he does not take care of himself, but he is not resentful. Sonic struggles with being a burden on all of his friends, not just Shadow. The way you described the relationship was closer to how Tails and Sonic interact than Shadow and Sonic and even then, there’s more going on that I just don’t have the time or energy to really walk through. And besides, I want to save that energy to draw out things later.
As i shared with another commenter who asked something similar, I can absolutely DM you your ask back if you want to save it. However I don’t understand why you need me to post it to save it your likes if you simply want to save it. You have your own blog you can post it to. Why does it need to be on my blog? Why do I have to do extra work so you can have an easier time to do what you want? I am very grateful for your interaction and love of my comic, and I understand it’s frustrating when people make things harder for you to have a good time, but that’s exactly what you’re doing to me by asking me to change how I use tumblr to suit your wants instead of what is easiest for me. I am not a public service you pay for. I am a person, a full time student with family issues, struggling siblings that I’m trying to help, a person who is struggling myself. I have a limited amount of energy in a day, I get tired quickly. If i want to continue to find joy in drawing I have to set boundaries. You may not always know why someone does something, I guarantee there is more here that I will not share because it is personal. Sometimes you just have to be okay with not knowing, you have to be okay not understanding, and you have to be okay without an explanation that makes sense to you. All you need to do is understand that often times there is a reason people behave the way they do. It’s not a reflection on you or their opinion of you, it is simply many other factors at play that lead to such an outcome.
I sincerely hope this did not offend you, I am not angry with you, nor do I wish for any of this to be taken as scolding or upset you. If it has come across that way, I apologize. I am sorry I am not in a state to give you what you want, and I’m thankful for your patience with me in reading through this and I hope it is enough to at least paint a little bit of a picture as to why I will not be posting your ask. It’s unfortunate that I ended up spending hours addressing this anyway both to you and to another commenter—the very thing I wanted to avoid—but I value you as a person and did not want to leave you feeling negatively if I could change that. I hope this does not affect your enjoyment or experience with how you were having fun with my au, and if it does I am deeply regretful. However, I do have to set boundaries and make sure I’m doing okay or there would be no AU at all. Thanks for your understanding and I hope you have a day as kind as you are.
#knox rambles#asks#anon#same kinda thing goes for that anon asking me to post all my small works to ao3 actually#what i say: there’s a couple reasons why but I’ll give you one#what i don’t say: A LOT OF OTHER STUFF#the energy it takes to transfer and hunt them down just to make it easier for you is so much harder for me#i guess if enough people expressed intrest i could consider posting all my mini fics but you’d have to be fine with like no art no writing#no asks from me for months while i do all that work#personally i don’t have time or energy to transfer anything#and its just not worth it for me considering how little people read them#the knuxoug e one i might consider posting because its a little longer#but all my smaller drabbles are Tumblr specials only#that could change in the future nothings set in stone#but just because you don’t understand why i don’t do something doesn’t mean i owe you an explanation or my reasoning is any less valid#respectfully my goal here isn’t to look after other people and hold their hands so they’re having a good time my goal is to draw and write#and then sometimes share that joy i get by sharing the story#if i stress about and put effort into customizing what i do to make things smoother for everyone else that effort doesn’t go into my writin#I’m not a social media specialist I’m a writer and and an artist#so far only one person has ever asked me to post long asks after I’ve said i don’t vibe with long asks#and so far only two people have ever asked me to post my small drabbles to ao3 (to my memory i could be wrong on that)#i could go into a lot more long winded reasoning as to why i don’t want to post small fics like i did here with long asks#but I’ve already spent enough time as it is on this and i wanted to draw metal today#anyway to reiterate: I’m not mad honestly this is all kinda funnny i hope both anons have a good day and I’ll be moving on and moving#forward with my art and drawing so i can keep enjoying it and having fun#i know drama’s fun to read through so all of y’all’s goofy beloved sneaky people reading to the end ily <3#giving you a kiss on the head :3#i maaaay delete this later since it’s so silly how long I spent on it#anyway yup hope y’all have a lovely day!

I’m obsessed with the sister!hotch and Reid fics. I can’t stop imagining that scene where Rossi goes to Garcia’s house and she’s fresh from the shower with Kevin. But instead is Hotch at readers house and Spencer is there.
—you and Spencer are in the midst of a long weekend together when your brother shows up unannounced. fem, 1.3k
“You’re really handsome.”
Spencer laughs as you drag your hands back over his ears and through his sopping wet hair. The shower water is blissfully warm and soaking your front as it rains down on his head. You shield his eyes but otherwise have your fun. His hair is softer than anything you’ve ever felt.
He holds your hands flat to his head. “You’re handsomer.”
“Am I supposed to take that in a good way or a bad way?” you ask.
“A good way!” he says, forgetting your hands in favour of guiding you under the water. “Handsome has nearly always been used for men more than women, but it didn’t fall out of fashion for girls until the fifties.” He tilts your head upward and to one side as his own begins to fall the other way. “You’re beautiful.” His voice is warm on your lips, “you’re so–”
His kiss is ridiculous; he kisses like he’s starving. You didn’t realise men could actually kiss like this until you met him. It’s not just in the movies, it’s right now, his hand at the back of your neck, unbothered by your laughing or your hand slipping down his wet t-shirt.
“This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever done,” you say.
“We were covered in mud.”
“We should’ve just got naked.”
“We’re taking things slow,” he says, laughing, “it’s fun. But what are we gonna do about our wet clothes?”
“You got the most of the mud on you,” you say. Spencer had performed a valiant rescue in that when you fell, he was straight down into the grass after you in an attempt to save your jeans. It didn’t work, obviously, but the thought was there, and he’s such a good kisser in the shower that you don’t mind the loss. “I’m gonna get out and get changed, you can have a real shower, okay? I’ll get you a towel and your pyjamas and stuff.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah, it’s fine. I think all the mud from my top half is gone.”
Spencer takes your face into his hand. His thumb rubs a line along your jaw. “Now it’s gone.”
You beam. Who knew Dr. Spencer Reid was such a tender guy? You could sort of guess from looking at him that he’d touch you like that, but it’s a contrast, too, to be kissed as though you’re some irresistible siren and to have your face held like fragile glass.
You step out of the shower still sodden, clothes heavy, and close the frosted door between you and Spencer to strip down. Separated but still shy, you hurry out of your clothes and into a towel, wrapping yourself tightly to head into your bedroom.
You put on blissfully dry underwear and blot your face. Next is loose pyjama pants and a big t-shirt: you’ve never worried about being sexy for Spencer and you’re not about to start. Your first date was a walk in the park, your second date at the bowling alley. He’s not concerned with that stuff. It’s why his frankness about wanting to take things slow isn’t scary, because when he holds your face and tells you you’re pretty, you believe it.
“Y/N?”
You flinch so hard your neck cracks. “Ow,” you whine.
“What’s wrong?”
You walk forward before Aaron can let himself into your bedroom. Sure enough, your older brother is in your apartment (as he’s allowed, given that he furnished the entire place and paid the security deposit, and, also, awfully, is a very nice big brother). He’s smiling, carrying two pizza boxes and a carton atop it that smells like French fries. “What have you done now?” he asks fondly.
“I hurt my neck, you scared me.”
“If you answered your phone, you’d know I was here.”
“I was in the shower!”
“I can see that. You’re getting slovenly, it’s almost midday.”
You’re so genuinely happy to see him that you forget for a moment your predicament. “It’s the weekend, I can do what I want.” You’re gonna have to let him down, which won’t be easy. “I’m not feeling the best, actually.”
Aaron lets the pizza boxes rest against his stomach. “How come?”
“I don’t know, I just feel tired. Maybe we can do something tomorrow.”
“Honey,” Aaron says, with all the cadence of someone who’s used to rubbing your back when you’re sick, “what’s wrong? Let’s go sit down, I can make you something less greasy.”
“I think you should just go home, actually. I might be contagious.”
He looks less concerned and more gutted. “What? I don’t care if you’re contagious. When has that stuff ever bothered me?” Aaron takes another step toward you, his gaze flitting past you toward your bathroom. “What’s really going on?”
The age gap between you and Aaron is expansive. Your being adopted is another gap, and neither have ever bothered him. The moment you showed up in his life he gave you everything he could manage, which has manifested in long phone calls, in hugs, in homemade soup and delivery when he couldn’t be there. Asking him not to look after you is like telling him you don’t want him to, and it isn’t true.
He means a lot more to you than whatever awkwardness your confession will inspire.
“Aaron,” you say, crossing your arms over your chest. “Spencer’s in the shower.”
He squeezes his pizza boxes. “Sorry?”
“We went to the park and I fell by the lake. He’s in the shower.”
“But you were just in the shower,” Aaron says.
“Well, we weren’t in there at the same time,” you drag.
Your lie is obvious to him, not just as a profiler but as your brother. His brow pinches and his nose wrinkles, not disgusted with you or anything so cruelly stupid, but dissatisfied, at least. “Did you have to tell me that?” he asks, pained.
“I didn’t tell you that, you profiled that, and it’s sort of not what you think anyways! We didn’t do anything–”
“Honey.”
“I’m really sorry, but it’s not what you think.”
“Listen to me.” The shower turns off and Aaron’s cheek twitches. “You are a grown up. You can do what you like with who you like. It’s my fault for coming here unannounced, I keep thinking of you as younger than you are.” Says the adult. Then, the more friendly part of being a sibling emerges, “Could you send him home?” he whispers. “I got your favourite.”
You laugh at his proposition. “That’s kinda rude, isn’t it? Can’t he stay? He’s cool.”
“I’m having trouble coalescing the two of you as more than acquaintances in my mind,” he says, as though he has much more to say about it, even if he’s smiling.
Spencer chooses that moment to walk from the en-suite bathroom and out of your room, a t-shirt stuck to his chest with damp, his own pyjama pants baggy at the ankles.
“Hey, are you okay?” Spencer grabs your hand impulsively, twining his fingers in yours. Then he sees Aaron and does a double take. “Hotch?”
You give Aaron a sorry smile. “Does that make it easier?”
“I’ll wait in the kitchen.”
You and Spencer watch Aaron retreat. His hand stays in yours, but he squeezes you too tightly. “Wait for what?” Spencer whispers fervently.
You lean up on tiptoes to kiss his eyebrow. “You’re about to get the shovel talk, I think.”
“Oh. Great.” He drops his forehead against your shoulder, wet hair dripping a path down your shirt. “This is really bad.”
“He brought pizza.”
“I don’t think that’s going to help me.”
You crane your head and kiss-kiss-kiss the top of his ear. “You’re really pretty when your hair is wet.”
Spencer murmurs to you reluctantly. “You’re really pretty all the time.”

fwb!rafe x meanprincess!reader
you knew you werent allowed to be jealous - that wasnt fair, and it certainly wasnt part of rafe and yours agreement.
and you knew it wasnt rational - you didnt even know why you were jealous. it wasnt like you had feelings for rafe, he was you best friend. so the two of you had fun every now and then and hooked up, he was still only just your best friend. in fact. he was really just looking out for you, making sure that you were getting the pleasure you deserved, that no one but him could give you. it was a solid arrangement, and you wouldnt change it anyways.
so what if you wanted to hold on a little tighter after he pleased you? so what if you liked it when he stayed later to watch a movie? so what if you liked it when he bought you things? these were normal things that best friends did, or at least thats what rafe told you.
but you were mad right now, and all you wanted to do was leave this stupid party rafe dragged you to.
rafe had left you alone for just a few minutes with his friends, and you didn't mind at all, enjoying the company of the two boys quite a lot. top and kelce were like brothers to you after all these years, and you thought they were the funniest boys in the obx. you were having fun, but then you turned you head to the drinks table where rafe was, surround by a literal swarm of girls. and the worst part, was he looked like he was enjoying it. you huffed with a narrow of you brows and turned your attention away from the scene, not wanting rafe to catch you looking.
you mind ran wild. what was he doing? why was he enjoying all that attention when you gave him all of yours and then some? were you not good enough for him?
you decided to play it cool, continuing your conversation with the other boys. eventually rafe came back, sitting right next to you as he was before, and handing you a drink. feeling petty, you look at the drink and scrunch your nose up, then shake your head, turning back to top and kelce. rafe scoffed, rolling his eyes, and set your drink on the table in front of him, crossing one leg over the other and leaning back against the couch, his arm resting on the cushion behind you.
you pretty much ignored rafe the whole rest of the night, and you could feel him growing frustrated beside you. rafe cleared his throat before speaking. "I've gotta take this one home, boys, curfew."
you narrow you eyes and open your mouth to oppose, but rafe sends you a withering stare and you decide against it, saying your goodbyes as rafe drags you out.
he huffs, bending down with his hands on your biceps, his expression hardened. "ok, what the fuck was that all about?"
you eyes narrow. "nothing."
he scoffs. "bull shit. why'r you actin like a brat?"
the annoyed pout on you face spoke for itself. "nothing, its just that if you wanna fuck other girls, thats fine, but i'd rather you tell me so I could get checked for whatever weird shit they're carrying around".
rafe face lights in realization and he drops his hands from your arms, running them down his face with an amused smile, shaking his head in subtle laugher.
you pout, spurred on by his sudden amusement. "what?" you snap.
he finishes his laughter, crossing his arms. "no, nothin, its just - I just get it now. i get your lil problem."
you cross your arms, mirroring him. "do you?" you ask sassily.
he chuckles, walking right in front of you, leaning down to be face to face. "sweetie, if you were feelin a lil territorial, just say that," he says, his voice quiet and cocky. his hands traveled to your waist, giving it a good squeeze.
you feel more enraged and you scoff, pushing him away (though he barely budges). "get the fuck over yourself, rafe, god!" you exclaim.
rafe grabs your wrist in a tight grip, the smile disappearing from his face. "hey, no no no. none'a that. was tryin t'be nice but guess thats out of the books, huh princess?" you pout at his condescending tone but don't speak, knowing it would only dig you in a deeper hole.
"y'know that I wasn't gunna fuck any of those girls. we were j'talkin," he explains, his voice coming across level, almost as if he was trying to dumb down his tone.
at his words, you roll your eyes, which causes rafe to tug harder on your wrists. "hey, stop," he scolds sternly. "m'not fuckin anyone else, hear me? so stop being such a little brat about it. god, makes me wonder why I fuckin put up with you."
his words trigger a pout, and you tug again at your wrist, trying to free them. "quit it, rafe, i hear you."
"nuh-uh, dont think y'hearin me," he responds, his features softening up the slightest, "how bout this, huh? i take you back to tannyhill, make y'feel real good, and then you know for sure that m'not fuckin with anyone else? how does that sound baby?"
you werent sure if it was the suggestion, or the way he called you baby that made you agree, but all you knew is that you ended the night with rafe, feeling much more confident that he wasnt, and wouldnt, fuck any other girl in the obx but you.

Y/N L/N-Wayne who has a soft stomach, so smooth, a little round from when they were a child.
The youngest of the adopted kids of Bruce Wayne, the one who loves to eat, was always given seconds.
The one who Damian would always make sure you are fed well, his favorite non-blood sibling as he says.
The one who Dick loves to poke and play with their stomach ever since the young child was a baby. A baby who was found in a trash bin.
Jason who would always tell the child what was in the food so he can make sure they eat healthy as well.
Tim who loves to recommend small lunch dates with the foodie sibling.
The sibling who grew and lost a bit of that baby weight, who’s now a young teenager, fresh into middle school. Walking into class, there was a beautiful girl with fair skin and beautiful bright eyes.
The girl stared at the sibling with a slight disgust, seeing the poor teen sit down and pull out their binder and notebook.
The girl started to talk to the teen, telling them how their stomach was popping out. How their arms have too much fat onto it. The sibling didn’t care at first, ignoring it before the girl started to express her own thoughts.
“I would kill myself if I was fat. Literally, I’m so glad I’m skinny. Imagine taking up so much space just from standing?” She giggles with her friends at the table. The teen looked down, frowning as tears welled in their eyes.
Going home the same day, the young child looks at themselves in the mirror. Lifting up their shirt to show their soft belly. The round belly that looks enormous, that looks like it may burst the Jean button off it.
Slapping their stomach lightly, they couldn’t help but feel the tears start to fall. Were they always this fat? Chubby? They thought they already burnt the fat off…
Changing into some old Christmas pajamas, they were baggy enough to cover their body. Laying down on their back, they stared at the ceiling with knitted brows. Maybe they needed to lose some weight? Maybe it was for the better anyways, they kind of felt like they have been gaining some pounds.
For dinner, they sat with the family. Damian by their side as usual, the teenager with green eyes glanced at how his sibling would just pick at the food in the plate. They haven’t even eaten anything much on it.
Dick was currently telling the family at the table about his new day time job as a police officer. He had gotten a promotion. Jason sadly wasn’t at the table, he was eating in the library, not wanting to be seen by the family. Although the young bat could go see the quiet male.
Tim was doing his usual research in the batcave, so it really just left the teen, Bruce, and Damian with Alfred standing by.
“Why haven’t you eaten your food brother/sister?” Damian questions as he puts his silverware down.
Shrugging, the tween could only look at the plate. Seeing the food as the girl’s face who made fun of them. A sour expression fell onto the face of them, “Guess I’m not.. hungry.”
Damian’s eyes widen along with Dick who stopped talking to Bruce. Bruce and Alfred raised their brows. This young bat always loved to eat! Even have seconds… mostly not feeling hungry meant that they were sick.
Dick and Damian surrounded you with worry. “Are you okay?!” Dick says as he pressed a hand against their head. “Why haven’t you told any of us you were sick!?” Damian exclaims, ready to get medicine.
“No! I’m fine, I’m not sick.. just not hungry as I thought.” They explained, pushing their plate away from them. “I’m going to bed.” The tween scoots their seat from the table and walks away to upstairs and into their room. Leaving the men to discuss this strange event.
“What’s going on with them?” Dick says with worry, brows furrowed as he bites his thumb, thinking of the possibilities.
Damian crosses his arms, “I know they aren’t being bullied. To my awareness.” Now Damian feels a little concerned, or more likely ashamed if he hadn’t noticed his sibling being picked on.
Bruce frowns, Alfred taking the uneaten plate and putting it in the microwave in case the young child was ever hungry again.
“I’m sure they’ll tell us if anything is going wrong.” Bruce says, trying to settle his sons’s nerves. They stared at the man before Dick lets out a sigh.
“I hope…”
Next few days or at least a week were exhausting, you stopped eating a bunch. Only drinking water or taking small bites off of your saltine crackers you packed by yourself.
You sped walked past Alfred who held your lunchbox, but you gave him a strained smile and only told him “I packed my own lunch!”
Jason noticed something was wrong with you when Tim came to him saying you declined to go on a lunch date with him to that cafe you wanted to go to. Jason tried to go into your room, but it was locked. Thinking you were probably just trying to study alone, he left. But there was a sinking feeling in his stomach.
The day after, Dick tried to squeeze your stomach. “Here comes the ticket monster Lil bat!” He says as he squeezes your stomach. It was too late for you to even notice that he was behind you.
You smacked his hands angrily, “Don’t touch me! And stop doing that!” You yelled at him. That gained a lot of attention and raised flags for the brothers and father figure you have.
Dick backs up with raised hand, a frown written on his face. “I’m sorry..” he says softly, watching you walk away and go into your room.
“That’s strange…usually they just.. smile and tickle you back…” Tim says as he watches the door slam closed.
Bruce knew by then, you wouldn’t talk about it. The boys stared at the leader of the family, their eyes searching for an answer.
How will they approach this?
Walking into the house, you were shocked to see your brothers and father sitting all arranged into a circle. Staring at you, Alfred takes off your bag due to you being shocked.
Thoughts rushed your head, do they know you’re failing chemistry? Or was it math..you couldn’t tell what was going on other than this seems weird.
Their stares held deep worry and restlessness, you took small walks to them. “What’s going on guys?” You said with a weak smile, trying to lighten up the mood but failing as Jason has you sit by him.
“Kid. We have a feeling that something’s going on with you. Mentally.” Jason says as he place a hand on your upper back. You let out a shaky breath, “what are you guys talking about?”
“We’re talking about how you’ve been acting and your lack of eating.” Damian stated as he has his hands intertwined. “We’re significantly worried for you.”
“You’ve been skipping dinners.” Tim counted on his hand.
“Acting aggressive more lately at a slightest of usual things we use to do.” Dick says with a still frown, remembering how you yelled at him.
You looked at Bruce for help, maybe to tell them that they’re the ones hallucinating. Bruce only shook his head at your stare, sharing the same concern as his sons.
“As we wish to not say it, we’ve come to the conclusion that… you are starving yourself into an eating disorder.” Dick says lastly. You felt cornered, eyes staring at you like a caged animal. You felt your heart drop, and was your breathing quickening as well?
You couldn’t tell as your vision get blurry, you were fine! Completely fine! Maybe you skipped a few meals, maybe you should’ve been more careful on making it obvious. Making it clear in how you would gag yourself to throw up foods when you ate too much.
The boys were alerted at your panicking, Jason forced you to look at him as Tim runs off to get something for you.
“Kid, kid! Focus on my voice, focus on the three things you see.” He says sternly. You looked around frantically, seeing the color of your favorite blanket. “[color] blanket..” a nice flower pot by the couch. “Flower…” and then the mug Tim left days ago and hasn’t picked it up to clean it. “Mug…” after naming those three things, you started to calm a bit. Hand a little shaky as Jason rubbed patterns onto your back.
They gave you a moment to speak, you licked your dry lips and swallowed hard. Maybe… you do have an eating disorder, it’s all confusing. Wasn’t it helping you? Wasn’t it safe? You couldn’t help but cry into Jason’s shoulder. The male with a strike of white hair frowns at this and look at his brothers who looked the same as him.
“It’s okay, kid. We can get you help if you need it, we’ll be by your side.” You lifted your face up as you sobbed softly.
“Always lil bat.” Dick says with a soft smile as he looks at you looking back at him.
Tim nods, grabbing you some napkins as you let out all your insecurities to your brothers. Letting them know your deepest thoughts by these past days that went so quick only a month. Even explaining how it even started. You couldn’t help but break down again.
This was too much for you, your small brain thinking how you could even process starving yourself, going on a water diet, forcing yourself to throw up. All that to think it was helping you, only for it to harm you mentally and make you weak.
After breaking down, the boys hugged you tightly. “We still love you.” Jason says, holding you the tightest. All the boys hummed, Bruce smiled at his kids, all huddled up like birds trying to warm each other up.
“No matter what, no matter your appearance, we love you [nickname]” Tim says.
After the moment, Damian wiped your face with his hand with a rare soft smile. Tim brings you water after, with Jason rubbing your back and Dick talking to you still. “If you ever need us, don’t hesitate to talk to any of us.”
“And we mean any sweetheart. We’re your family, so we care for you. Don’t ever think we don’t.” Bruce says, walking over to you and ruffling your [texture] hair.
It took a slow process for you to get back into your habits of eating and being a foodie. Damian went into your class where that girl is. Seeing her expression of seeing THE youngest Wayne brother come into your class.
He glares at her, “You’re expelled by the way.” He says simply and leaves the room. He may have paid the principal to just get the advantage to do that. But no one messes with his sibling.
He loves you more than anything, they love you more than anything. They love you.

You have brunch plans for tomorrow morning.
You, Matt, Karen, Foggy and Marci—Nothing but mimosas and French toast.
If you can make it through the night, of course.
Okay, fine, it’s not that dramatic. But sometimes, you think you might die—Right then and there, cause of death? Matt Murdock.
You had planned to stay the night, bringing an overnight bag with you to work. And at around 1 a.m., after a homecooked meal, a movie and sitting curled against his side, the two of you realized you should probably get some sleep.
You brush your teeth in his bathroom, take your medication in his kitchen, and then you go to get changed. You dig through your bag, trying to find your pajamas—Your shorts are here, but not the tee shirt you were planning to wear.
Not in any of the little pockets of your overnight bag.
You twist the shorts in your hands awkwardly, watching as Matt pulls out sweatpants from his drawer to wear.
“Matthew?” You say softly, tilting your head.
“Yes, sweetheart?” He wonders, tilting his head back to you.
“Could.. I borrow a tee shirt? I guess I forgot mine.” You see a smile form on his face.
He shuffles through his drawers, fingers running over tags. Then, he turns back to you, and hands you a black tee shirt. You look at it for a second, reading the text on the front of the shirt. Then you grin.
“My Chemical Romance?” You read. Matt’s face flushes a bit.
“I had.. a bit of an emo phase in High School, okay?”
“That’s all I get? You’re gonna drop that on me and not give me anymore details?” You wonder.
“Let’s just say for a blind man, I am.. very good at doing eyeliner.”
You giggle.
“You’re probably better than I am.” You’re not big on makeup.
“Just go get changed.” He tells you, turning back to his drawer.
You oblige, heading into his bathroom to change. When you slip the tee shirt over your head, you pick the fabric up and put it up to your nose, inhaling his scent. You can’t help yourself. He’s got this very subtle vanilla smell to him. Then, you make your way back to his bedroom, tossing your clothes over your duffle bag.
You stand by the doorway, sort of.. taken back by the look of him. He’s sprawled out in his bed, just in a pair of fuzzy socks and sweatpants. Your face flushes. You’re about to sleep in a boy’s bed—With him in it!
You shake your head, chasing the silly thought out of it.
“Aren’t you coming to bed?” He doesn’t even have his glasses on. When you realize this, your heartbeat picks up. You’ve only been going out for about two weeks, just enough for you to become curious about his eyes.
“This is weird..” You mumble, and his head tilts curiously.
“What do you mean?”
A smile breaks out on your face.
“I don’t know,” You confess, “It’s just.. I can barely handle it when you kiss me in front of our friends, I’m overwhelmed at the idea of like.. cuddling all night.”
“Well, this isn’t in front of our friends.” He reminds. He pats the bed next to him. “Come sit,” He offers. He stays still, as if he’s scared you’ll run off like a skittish animal.
You move to sit on the bed, an inch or two away from each other. Matt’s hand finds yours. You lean your head against his shoulder. Then, you remember something, tilting your head to face him, leaning your chin on his shoulder.
“Matt, I won’t be able to hear your alarm clock go off,” You remind. Your hearing aids will be out while you sleep, and you’re not likely to hear his alarm clock. “We’ll be late and—”
Matt kisses your forehead.
“I’ll wake you up,” he says.
“Promise?”
“Promise.” You smile and press a soft kiss onto his lips. He stops, basking in the initiated affection.
You take out your hearing aids, and then melt into the bed, waiting for Matt to wrap his arms around you. He does, his arms snaking around your waist, burying his face in the crook of your next. Then, he says, right into your good ear so you could hear him,
“This okay?”
You smile.
“Yeah.” You promise, your hand wrapping around his arm, squeezing it tightly. You’re kept warm all night. There’s this moment at around three a.m., and your eyes flutter open as you wake up.. rather randomly.
You take a minute to admire Matt’s sleeping figure in the dark. His face is.. peaceful. Your lips twitch up. Then, you lean in and press a soft kiss on his jaw. You’re not used to physical affection.. But you’re doing your best to change that.
-
In the morning, Matt keeps his promise.
He removes his hand from your skin to turn off the alarm clock blaring,
’10:00 a.m.’
His hand runs over your back, since you’re now laying on your stomach, hugging Matt and a pillow. You breath deep, and for a moment, Matt tries to imagine what you’re dreaming about.
Your family?
Your job?
Him?
But, he knows you have to get up soon, so he begins to kiss you—
He starts at your cheek, before moving to your neck, and then, when he reaches your clothed shoulder, he moves your sleeve up your arm, beginning to kiss your arm, as his fingers tease the hem of your shirt, unsure if you’d kill him if that’s how you wake up, when your eyes flutter open.
“Good morning,” he smiles. He talks at just the right level so you can understand him.
“What’re you doing, Matthew?”
“Just waking you up,” He leans down and kisses your arm again. A shiver runs through your body.
“Okay, I’m awake now.” You grin.
“Okay, great,” You lean over and grab your hearing aids, putting them on. “Let’s go out to dinner tonight,” he requests, “My treat.”
“Like.. a fancy dinner or just something casual?”
“Fancy.” He confirms. “Fancy clothes and everything.”
Your heartbeat quickens.
“Kay.”
Matt leans forward and kisses your cheek.
He almost moves to get up, but he stops to ask,
“What were you dreaming about?”
You smile a bit.
“The Taj Mahal.” He laughs.
“The Taj Mahal?”
“Mhm.”
“You’re so..”
“Weird? Annoying? Nerdy?”
“Fascinating.”
He takes note at the way your heart races when he says that.
-
After brunch that morning, you and Matt split up to go get ready for your date, and you’re mostly successful.
But, you struggle with your eyeliner.. And then you remember something Matt told you last night. So you wait for Matt to get to your apartment. When he does, he comes with flowers. You smile as he kisses you hello, and you take the flowers.
You come back to him as you’re slipping on your shoes.
“I have a favor to ask,”
“Anything,” He smiles.
“Do my eyeliner?” You offer him your eyeliner pen, and he smiles.
“Sit on the couch,” he gestures, taking the pen from you. You sit on the couch, and Matt kneels down a bit, leaning in to feel around your face, getting a good feel of where your features are. Then, he grips the pencil in his hand and uses those handy heightened senses to delicately do your eyeliner.
He smiles when he finishes.
“Okay, all done. Do mine?” He asks, and you smile.
“Sure, how do you want to—” and before you can finish, Matt has moved quickly to sit on the chair before pulling you onto his lap. You let out a squeak, your face red. He grins.
“What’s the matter, sweetheart?” He feigns innocence.
“You’re such a pain.” You huff, and he just smiles, leaning into kiss your cheek. You blush, avoiding looking at him now.
“C’mon, just do my eyeliner for me,” he requests, and you let out a huff as you gently tilt his head up towards you.
“You know you need to take your glasses off, right?”
“I know,” he smiles, and his hand is removed briefly from your waist to take off his glasses. Then, slowly and methodically, you begin applying the eyeliner, trying to ignore how nervous this whole thing is making you.
“Your heart’s beating pretty fast,” He smirks. You bite back a sarcastic comment, and his hand begins to rub up and down your side. You pause your application of the eyeliner to squirm a bit in his lap. “What’s the matter, baby?” he coos.
“Oh, you’re such a dick.” You mumble, your grip on his chin tightening as you finish applying his eyeliner. He smiles and slips his glasses back on, as you climb off his lap. “C’mon, I’m starving—”
“Me too,” he says before grabbing your arm, and pulling you in for a long, deep kiss. His tongue brushes against your lip before slipping inside your mouth. After the initial urge to run away dissipates, you lean into the kiss, only for Matthew to pull away. “Alright, let’s head out.”
You try to find words, but you’re breathless from that kiss. Instead, you betray yourself. You let out this needy little whine, and Matt just smirks.
“What? If you’re whining over one kiss, I can’t imagine how you’ll be later.”
You tilt your head, cautiously. Matt wants to tell you how dog like that is, how it’s easily one of his favorite things about you.
“What do you mean, later?”
He kisses your head, and opens the door to your apartment, gesturing for you to walk out.
“Use that pretty head of yours. What do you think I mean?”
Your face flushes as you take a few steps out of the apartment.
“I don’t know.”
He closes the door behind him, and then his arm takes yours.
“Guess.”
-
To you, Dinner feels like it takes a million damn years.
You suspect that’s partially because of the way Matthew insatiably teases you.
His hand stays on your thigh throughout all of dinner.
When he wants you to try something, he gathers the food on a fork and glances to you.
“Open,” he says, and when he puts the fork in your mouth, you bite the food off the fork. “Good pup,” He hums, and of course, you blush.
He licks his lips like he’s quietly begging for a taste, and at some point during the dinner, he leans over the table and asks you quietly,
“Do you think I can’t smell how wet you are, kid?”
So by the time you two get home, it’s all you can do not to get on your hands and knees and beg him for something more than just a couple of teasing words. Maybe that’s what he wants. You’re not sure—Your brain is fuzzy.
You step into Matt’s apartment and toss the jacket that he wrapped around your shoulders onto the couch as he steps in, putting his cane and glasses down first.
“Can I ask you a question?” You finally blurt out.
He smiles, sensing your anticipation.
“Sure.”
“Are we.. are we gonna sleep together tonight?” You can’t help but ask. Matt chuckles gently.
“Do you want to sleep together?”
“Yes, please,” you finally answer.
“Go sit on the couch.” He orders softly, and he hears no objections as you take off your heels before sitting on the couch. He breathes deep and cracks the bones in his neck. He knows you have no idea what you’re in for.
He runs a hand over his jaw, trying to decide how he’ll start. He knows no matter how he does it, he’ll absolutely torture you, poor thing. So, he starts with sitting down next to you, placing his hand on your thigh.
He smirks as you squirm.
“What’s the matter, baby?” He coos softly.
“Oh, you know damn well what’s—”
Matt moves his hand from your thigh to grip your chin.
“Shh..” He starts, “If you want me to fuck you, you’re going to have to knock off the attitude,” He demands gently.
“Can’t help it—”
“You haven’t even tried.” He scoffs. “Come on, just be good for me and I’ll make all the thoughts disappear from your pretty little head.” His grip on your chin tightens, and he leans forward to brush his lips against yours. “Answer me.”
“Okay,” You breath out, “Okay, sure, I’ll be good,” You promise, and Matt kisses you in approval. But he doesn’t pull away after a moment. Instead, his hands move to cup your cheeks. He deepens the kiss and doesn’t stop you as you reposition yourself, now sitting on his lap.
His hand trails down, beginning to massage your thighs as you kiss him. He can smell how wet you are, hear how fast your heart is beating.
He deepens the kiss, his tongue slipping past your lips again, so that he can explore your mouth. He studies it like its his damn job, and he relishes in the tiny gasps and moans that he’s able to draw out of you.
You begin rocking your hips against him, and his hands move to your hips, holding you in place. He pulls away from the kiss, and is met with your whining.
“What’d I tell you about the attitude?” He wonders, and you bite your lip, just desperate for him to continue. One hand releases your hip and reaches up to tug your hair. You let out a whimper. “Answer me.” His voice is steady, but deep—He knows exactly the effect he has over you.
“To stop it,” You answer, and he clicks his tongue. You try not to react, but Matt smirks at your attempt at self-control.
“Poor thing,” He coos, “You just need someone to take care of you, huh? Order you around, fuck you dumb..” He hums. When you squirm a bit in his lap, Matt decides to kiss you again, wanting you as brainless as he can get you.
He slowly pulls away, and he takes a second to stop, to catch his breath. He knows you need the second too, so he just inhales as he listens to the sound of your heartbeat, anxiously awaiting his next move.
“If you want to stop, you just say ‘Lava’. Got it?”
“Lava, got it.” You know he’s looking for verbal affirmation, that you understand what’s about to happen might get.. less than vanilla. He nods, and places an uncharacteristically soft kiss to your lips.
“Take your dress off,” He commands softly, “And then get on your knees for me.”
For a moment, you contemplate being bratty. You contemplate not following his order. But, you decide against it. You stand and slip out of your dress, left in just your jewelry, underwear and pretty makeup.
You kneel between his legs and watch as his lips form this smile that makes your stomach churn.
“Good dog,” and he chuckles when you lean your head against his thigh. “Poor thing,” He repeats his early sentiment, before he stands up. He takes a step towards his bedroom, and then, his hand comes down to pet your hair—
Before he grips it, starting to pull you by your hair all the way to his bedroom, listening as you whimper, trying to keep up with him. When he releases your hair, you pant softly from the pain as you sit next to his bed, watching as Matt unties his tie, wrapping it around his hand like you would a bandage.
“Sorry, honey,” he coos, suddenly soft, “That was mean, wasn’t it?” He wonders, and you pause, not sure if he wants you to actually answer. His lips twitch into a smirk. “Go ahead, you can answer.”
“Yeah, it was,” You finally answer, “The fuck did you do that for?” Matt lets out this dry chuckle.
“There’s that attitude again,” He hums. He leans down and effortlessly scoops you up with his arms and puts you on his bed, “Yeah. I was mean.” He nods, “Let me make it up to you?” He’s not really asking for your permission, and he proves that by grabbing your ankles and pulling you to the edge of the bed.
“Are you going to stop being mean to me?” You wonder, and he can’t help the smile that forms on his face.
“Oh, sweetheart,” He moves to lean closer to you, before unwrapping the tie from his hand and then, he ties it around your head, making sure to lay it right over your eyes. “I never promised that. I just promised I’d make it up to you. Ask how I’ll do that.”
You inhale and exhale, a little thrown out of the moment.
“How?” You ask, desperately in love with him either way.
“I’m gonna ruin that pretty eyeliner,” He kneels between your legs.
“How are you—” You gasp when he pulls down your underwear quickly, slipping it down to your ankles, and then throwing them to the side.
“You’re a smart kid, I’m sure you’ll figure it out soon.” He says, before leaning in to lick a stripe across your cunt. Then, he starts to lick and suck on your folds, devouring you. You moan loudly, hands finding his hair as you try to get used to the feeling.
And after a couple of moments of eating you out, You do get used to it, and you absolutely melt into the bed, suddenly forgiving him for all his mean moments earlier. You’d forgive anything he did if he just stays on his knees, eating you out.
His fingers come up to your clit to gently rub circles into it, before moving his fingers to slip right between your folds, relishing in the way you whine, in the sound of your moans. His fingers begin to pump in and out of you.
He licks stripe after stripe into your cunt, his scruff scratching your thighs as he eats you out. You pull and tug at his hair.
“I’m—I’m close,” You finally manage to gasp out,
Matt just hums out an, ‘Mhm’, too busy lapping up your juices on his tongue. His nose brushes against your clit, and you’re suddenly coming undone as his licks your juices up. You ride out your high with Matt’s face between your thighs.
After a couple of minutes, he slowly comes up for air, head tilting upwards.
“Feeling okay?” his voice is soft now.
“Yeah,” You breath with a breathy sigh. “Just.. thinking.” Your hands absentmindedly comb through his hair.
“’Bout what, baby?” He asks, and leans in, pressing a kiss to your clit. When you whine, he coos mockingly, “Aw, poor thing.. Answer the question.”
“..You.” You try, and he scoffs, before biting your thigh.
“Try again, brat.”
You blush.
“It’s embarrassing!”
“I just buried my face in your pretty pussy and you’re worried about an embarrassing thought?” Matt asks, and you huff.
“Well, when you put it that way—” He bites your thigh again. “Fine! Fine,” You huff. “I’m thinking about the seven wonders of the world.”
A beat.
Matt lets out a low chuckle, and your face flushes.
“Matthew!”
“What? I can’t help it,” He giggles, and as you start to move away, but he grips your thighs and pulls you closer, “Okay, okay. What about the seven wonders of the world?”
“I’ll tell you if you take off the blindfold.”
“Oh,” He lets out a dry chuckle, shaking his head. “Oh, poor thing, this isn’t a negotiation.”
“Seems like it is—” He scoffs at this, “It is! You’re the one on your knees, I’ve already came, seems like I have a bit of leverage here—”
Matt rolls his eyes, and stands up, his hand coming up to your head to the blindfold. He pulls it off and takes just a second to brush hair from your face. Then, he wraps the tie around your neck. He pulls a bit, just snuggly tugging and applying a bit of pressure. He towers over you now, and he pulls the tie up a bit so that you’re looking at him.
“Listen to me, you little brat,” He growls, “What did I say about the attitude?” You just let out a whimper, and he clicks his tongue again. “I bet I can fuck the attitude out of you. Or at least, I can try.” He snaps, tightening the tie around your neck.
Then, he works on his pants and tugs his dress pants down just enough for him to pull his cock out. Then, he shifts the two of you so that you’re sitting on his lap, his tip teasing your folds.
He tugs on the tie, pulling you forward so he can bite and suck on your neck, and you begin to moan, whine at the feeling of. Matt just bites down, marking you in every way he can.
“Not used to all this attention, huh?” And then, Matt says his phrase of the night, “Poor thing,” He hums. His hand comes up to uncharacteristically kindly move the hair from your ear, and then begins to kiss every inch of your skin.
You’re like puddy in his hands. Mendable, soft.
He guides his cock to your folds, and then, as he distracts you with kisses and hickeys, guides you to sink down onto his cock. When you do, you let out a breathy moan, unused to the feeling of being so full..
After giving you a minute to adjust, Matt begins to thrust into you, encourages by your moans and egging you on with whispers of encouragement,
“Taking my cock so well for me,” He praises, planting kisses down your neck, “Like you’re made for me to fuck you like this,” He gasps as he feels you clench around him. “Fuck, So good for me,” He says. It’s like he’s addicted to kissing you, to kissing your neck and shoulders and every inch of skin he can get his lips on.
He fucks you intensely, and you feel every single thrust as it echoes through your body, and the longer he goes, the more he whispers in your ear, (“Come on, pretty thing, just keep taking my cock, just like that—Oh, god—Fuck, Baby, you feel so good,”) the closer you get to your climax.
“’m gonna—”
“I know, I know,” He hums, and then he smirks as he smells salty tears in the air. Tears run down your face, and Matt knows he’s won. “Aw, baby.. Did you ruin your eyeliner?” When you don’t respond, Matt pulls your hips down, commanding you to answer.
“Yes!” You whimper, a sob escaping your lips.
“Poor thing,” he coos, and his thrusts are particularly intent as he continues, “Poor, poor baby,” He hums, kissing your shoulder before biting down on it. And without another word, you grip his arm as you clench around him, cumming around his cock. He thrusts a few more times, “Gotta pull out before—”
“No!” You whine, “Just come inside, it’s fine—”
“Are you sure, I don’t want to—”
“Matt,” you whine, beginning to roll your hips, desperate to feel him come inside you. You whimper softly, as Matt thrusts into you, finally coming inside you. He rides out his own high before his thrusts come to a slow.
“Fuck,” He gasps, sweat dripping down his neck. “You were even better than I could imagine..” he confesses.
For a moment, the pair of you just breath. His hands slowly rub up and down your sides. Thoughts seem far away.. in the best way possible.
He knows you need a bath. He knows he needs to clean you and himself up. He knows he needs to teach you to suck him off. He should ask you how that was, what he should do again, what you would’ve preferred. He has a damn list, but all he can think to ask is—
“What were you thinking about earlier?”
“What?” you ask, cock still buried deep inside you.
“After I ate you out,” He starts, “You were thinking about the seven wonders of the world. What about them?”
You study his face. There’s no mocking intent, no malice in his voice.
“I was thinking about The Gardens of Babylon. How deeply I relate to them.”
“What? How can you relate to ancient architecture?”
“Well, we don’t know if they were even real. Maybe they were, but there are theories that it was all just.. poetic. That they weren’t real, and that the story is just.. something we choose to believe.”
His face twitches in confusion, trying to process what you mean, how can you relate to ancient architecture, especially ancient architecture that you don’t even know the certainty of.
“So, which one would I be?”
He expects you to ask questions for confirmation.
Instead, you answer almost immediately.
“The Roman Colosseum.” You grin.
“The colosseum?” He questions.
“Strong. Stable. Gorgeous. Breathtaking.” You pause, a smirk on your face. Your finger comes up to his nose. You run it down the shape of his nose, “Roman.” He grins.
“So, we’re the Gardens of Babylon and the Roman Colosseum?”
“No, no,” You shake your head, “we’re not the Gardens of Babylon and the Roman Colosseum! We’re the wonder of the world that’s built out of white marble, a wonder made because death doesn’t stop love-- We are the Taj Mahal.” You offer.
“Oh, my mistake.” He grins. “We’re the Taj Mahal.”
“See? You get it.” You smile back.
Matt thinks for a moment.
“So this morning, when I asked you what you were dreaming about this morning.. Technically, you were dreaming about us?”
You smile.
“Yeah, I guess so.”
Matt just kisses you deep, pushing you back onto the bed as he begins to unbutton his shirt, tossing it off to the side.
The two of you spend your night intermittently going back and forth between passionate lovemaking—Part of Matt’s love language and talking and expressing how much you love him in an abstract way—Part of your love language.
Neither of you get much sleep that night.

chicken shop date (ln4)
✦ pairing - lando norris x female!reader
✦ genre - little angst, tears, comfort, jealousy
"Hey, babe," Lando called out as he walked into the living room, his voice casual, as if he was mentioning the weather. Y/N looked up from the book she was reading, her eyes narrowing a little, sensing something was coming. "I’ve got to head out for a bit later. Media duties. You know how it is."
"Yeah, where to?" Y/N asked, pretending she wasn’t bothered, even though her gut told her this wasn’t just any media duty.
Lando plopped down beside her on the couch, leaning back with his arm lazily draped over her shoulders. "Just some interview thing. The Chicken Shop Date."
Her heart sank a little. "The one with Amelia?"
Lando nodded, not catching the slight change in her tone. "Yeah, should be fun, right? It’s been all over social media. Apparently, people love that show."
Y/N forced a smile. "Yeah… fun."
He didn’t notice the hesitation, scrolling through his phone as if it was no big deal. "It’s just an interview, nothing serious. I’ll be back by dinner."
Y/N gave a tight nod. "Okay, sure. It’s fine."
But it wasn’t. It didn’t help that she knew how these things played out online. Fans loved to pair drivers up with anyone and everyone, and Amelia was already adored. Y/N tried not to think about it too much, but the insecurity crept in. The doubt, the comparison—it all bubbled beneath the surface.
-`♡´--`♡´--`♡´-
Lando sat across from Amelia, lights blaring overhead, the cameras rolling, and the familiar buzz of media duties surrounding him. He smiled and laughed at her jokes, played along with the teasing banter, but his mind wasn’t really in the conversation. It was on Y/N.
As Amelia quipped something about his love for chicken, Lando gave the expected laugh, but inside, all he could think about was how Y/N would have found that moment funny—actually funny, not forced for the sake of the cameras. She had this way of cracking up over the smallest things, making even the most mundane moments between them feel like they were in their own little world. He shifted in his seat, nodding as Amelia asked him another question, but it was Y/N’s voice he wanted to hear, not Amelia’s.
I should’ve texted her before this started, he thought. She hates these things. She probably thinks this is stupid.
His smile faltered for a split second before he masked it again with his easy-going charm. Lando’s mind wandered, picturing Y/N curled up on the couch, probably watching something on Netflix, or worse—doom-scrolling through social media where people would already be buzzing about him and Amelia. He knew how much she hated seeing those comments.
"Do you always pick chicken on a date?" Amelia asked, her voice pulling him back to the present.
He smirked automatically, playing along. "Depends on the girl, I guess."
But in his mind, there was only one girl. He could almost hear Y/N’s sarcastic response if she’d been there. Something like “Oh wow, such a Casanova.” He bit back a real grin, wishing he was with her instead, eating pizza on the floor like they always did when they had time to themselves.
As Amelia tossed another teasing question his way, Lando nodded again, but his thoughts drifted to Y/N’s smile. Her real smile, the one she only showed when she was truly happy—her eyes crinkling at the edges, dimples making their rare but precious appearance. God, I love that smile, he thought. How do I even survive without seeing it every day?
The interview continued, but Lando was only half there. His answers were automatic, the jokes came easy enough, but his heart was back home with Y/N. He could already imagine the comments that would flood in after this aired—the inevitable “couple goals” remarks about him and Amelia, the fans who shipped them just because they shared a few laughs on camera. He hated how much Y/N would probably see it all and doubt herself again.
She’s the one, he reminded himself, trying to focus as Amelia asked him about his worst date experience. But his mind flickered to the time he and Y/N had gotten completely soaked during an impromptu storm on what was supposed to be a romantic picnic. It had been a disaster, but also perfect, because it was with her.
The interview wrapped up eventually, and as he stood up to leave, Lando’s first instinct was to check his phone. A text from Y/N popped up.
How’s it going? Did you eat all the chicken yet?
He grinned down at the message, a wave of warmth washing over him. She’s probably teasing, but I know she’s anxious, he thought, his fingers quickly tapping out a response.
Miss you. Be home soon.
Amelia said something to him on the way out, but he barely registered it. His mind was already miles away, back where he belonged—next to Y/N.
-`♡´--`♡´--`♡´-
Y/N sat on the couch, her phone in hand, mindlessly scrolling through Twitter, Instagram, and every other app she swore she’d avoid today. The comments were relentless, each one stabbing at the insecurities she’d been trying so hard to ignore.
Amelia and Lando are too cute together! Lando needs someone like Amelia, not Y/N. Amelia is just…better. They have way more chemistry than Lando and his actual girlfriend, LOL.
She closed her eyes, swallowing the lump in her throat as she let the phone fall onto her lap. The words kept spinning in her mind. They shouldn’t have bothered her this much, but they did. The laughter and teasing between Lando and Amelia from the video replayed in her mind, feeding her doubts.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed beside her, breaking her out of the spiral. She sighed, assuming it was more notifications from the post, but the name on the screen made her pause.
Carlitos.
She hesitated, not wanting to deal with anyone right now, but something told her to pick up. Carlos wouldn’t call without a reason.
“Hey, Carlitos,” she answered, trying her best to sound casual.
But Carlos knew her too well. "You’re doom-scrolling, aren’t you?"
Y/N’s heart sank at his words, her eyes darting to her phone again as if he could see everything she’d just read. "No… I mean, maybe a little. How do you know?"
Carlos chuckled softly on the other end. "I just do. I saw the interview, and I figured you’d be reading all that rubbish online. You know how people get with these things."
Y/N sighed, leaning her head back against the couch. "It’s not just people. It’s like… I don’t know, Carlos. They’re saying Lando and Amelia have more chemistry than we do. And I… I can’t help but think, what if they’re right?"
There was a brief silence before Carlos spoke, his voice gentle but firm. "You’re kidding, right? Lando adores you. You should see the way he talks about you when you’re not around. You’ve got nothing to worry about."
Y/N’s chest tightened. "But did you see the video? They looked… I don’t know, comfortable. Like they fit."
Carlos let out a soft sigh. "Y/N, of course they looked comfortable. It’s an interview, they’re supposed to. And Amelia’s whole thing is to make it playful. But you and Lando—what you two have is real. Not some staged banter for the cameras."
She stayed silent, biting her lip, unsure if she could believe him.
"You’ve been with him through everything, Y/N," Carlos continued, his voice softer now. "The highs, the lows, the things the cameras never see. What you two have isn’t for the internet to decide. It’s for you and Lando, and no one else."
Y/N swallowed, her eyes stinging as she blinked back the tears threatening to spill over. "I just… I hate feeling like I’m not enough for him sometimes."
Carlos paused for a moment before speaking again, this time with more conviction. "Listen to me. You are more than enough. Lando knows it. I know it. And deep down, you know it too. The internet? They’ll always talk, but they don’t know the first thing about your relationship."
Y/N let out a shaky breath, nodding even though he couldn’t see her. "Yeah, I guess."
"No, not ‘I guess,’" Carlos insisted. "I’m telling you. Lando loves you. He doesn’t care about Amelia or anyone else. And if he saw you right now, he’d probably punch himself for letting you feel like this."
A soft laugh escaped Y/N, despite the tears that were now sliding down her cheeks. "You’re too good to me, Carlos."
"Someone’s got to keep an eye on you when Lando’s off doing these ridiculous interviews," he teased, his tone lighter now. "But seriously, promise me you’ll stop reading those comments. They don’t matter."
Y/N nodded, wiping at her eyes. "I’ll try. Thanks, Carlos. I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear that."
"Anytime, Y/N. And if you ever need a reminder, just call me, okay?"
"Okay," she said softly, feeling the weight on her chest slowly lift.
"And remember," Carlos added, his voice warm and reassuring, "you’re family. We’ve all got your back, no matter what. Especially me."
Y/N smiled through her tears, her heart swelling at his words. "I know. Thank you, Carlos. Really."
"Now, go put your phone down and do something that makes you happy. Lando will be home soon, and he’s probably missing you already."
Y/N let out a soft chuckle. "You’re right. I’ll stop the doom-scrolling."
"Good," Carlos said, his smile evident through the phone. "Talk soon, Y/N."
"Bye, Carlos."
As the call ended, Y/N set her phone down, feeling a bit lighter. Carlos was right. Lando loved her, and she couldn’t let the opinions of people who didn’t even know them take that away. With a deep breath, she got up, deciding to make dinner and wait for Lando, her heart feeling a little more at peace.
-`♡´--`♡´--`♡´-
Lando was driving back home, the streets quiet, his mind wandering between the day’s events and how much he just wanted to be with Y/N. He could already imagine her waiting for him, maybe with some sarcastic comment about the interview, but her smile would say it all. That was his Y/N.
His phone rang, breaking him out of his thoughts. Seeing Carlos’ name flash on the screen, he raised an eyebrow, quickly connecting his Bluetooth before answering.
“Carlos, what’s up?” Lando asked casually, one hand on the steering wheel.
“Mate, we need to talk,” Carlos’ tone was serious, which immediately caught Lando’s attention. “It’s about Y/N.”
Lando’s stomach dropped. “What do you mean? Is she okay?”
“She’s been doom scrolling, Lando,” Carlos sighed. “All the comments about you and Amelia… they’re getting to her. Badly.”
Lando’s grip on the steering wheel tightened as his heart started to race. No, no, no… I should’ve checked on her more. I should’ve known this would happen.
“Shit,” Lando muttered under his breath, the image of Y/N’s hurt expression flashing in his mind. “How bad is it?”
“She’s really upset,” Carlos said softly. “I just talked to her. She’s trying to act like it’s fine, but you know Y/N. She’s hurt, man.”
Lando’s mind started spiraling. The interview with Amelia had been playful, nothing more. But of course, the internet had twisted it into something else. And he hadn’t even thought to reassure Y/N after it. How could I be so stupid? She’s always had a hard time with stuff like this.
He could already picture her sitting at home, scrolling through all those hateful comments, each one cutting deeper than the last. And he hadn’t been there to stop it. Guilt washed over him in waves, his mind running a mile a minute.
“You need to fix this, mate,” Carlos added. “She needs to hear it from you.”
“Yeah,” Lando nodded, though Carlos couldn’t see him. “Yeah, I’ll fix it. Thanks, Carlos.”
“Don’t let her sit with it too long, alright? You know how she gets.”
Lando’s chest felt tight as he ended the call. His thoughts swirled, an overwhelming sense of panic bubbling inside him. She’s hurting because of me. I should’ve known. Why didn’t I check in with her sooner?
He couldn’t stop the spiral. His mind raced through every scenario—Y/N sitting there, thinking she wasn’t good enough, believing for even a second that anyone, let alone Amelia, could ever come close to what she meant to him. What if she starts pulling away? What if she starts believing those comments?
Lando could feel the pressure building in his chest, his heart pounding as he drove. He hated the thought of her doubting his feelings, doubting herself. She was the most important person in his life, the one he thought about constantly. How could she not know that?
I need to make it up to her. I need to show her how much I love her.
As he passed a convenience store, he swerved into the parking lot on impulse, throwing the car into park. He rushed inside, his eyes scanning the aisles in a frenzy. What would make her smile? What would remind her that she’s everything?
His heart still raced as he grabbed her favorite chocolate, the one she always ate when she was feeling down. Next, he spotted a small display of flowers—bright, colorful blooms that would make her laugh at how cheesy they were. He grabbed those too, along with a soft plush bear that looked far too childish but somehow felt perfect for this moment.
As he stood at the checkout, waiting for the clerk to ring everything up, his mind was still spinning. What if it’s not enough? What if she’s already convinced herself that she’s not good enough for me?
No, he told himself firmly. I’ll make her see. I’ll make her believe it.
He rushed back to the car, throwing the flowers and chocolates onto the passenger seat, already picturing her face when she saw them. She deserves the world, and I’ve been too caught up to remind her of that. I’m such an idiot.
The drive home felt longer than ever, his heart pounding in his chest as his thoughts swirled between guilt, panic, and determination. By the time he pulled into the driveway, he felt like he couldn’t breathe.
He grabbed everything from the seat, taking a deep breath as he walked up to the door. I need to fix this.
Lando fumbled with his keys, his hands shaking slightly as he unlocked the door. He stepped inside quietly, his eyes immediately searching for her. The house was quiet, but he knew she was there. He could feel the tension in the air, the weight of unspoken feelings hanging between them.
“Y/N?” he called softly, stepping further into the house, the flowers and chocolates held awkwardly in his hands.
She appeared from the living room, her eyes red-rimmed, a telltale sign that she’d been crying. Seeing her like that nearly broke him.
“Hey,” she said quietly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Lando swallowed hard, his heart aching at the sight of her. “I, uh, got you something,” he said, holding up the flowers and chocolates, his voice shaky with nerves.
Y/N’s eyes flickered to the items in his hands, a soft, surprised smile tugging at the corner of her lips despite her sadness.
“Why?” she asked, though her voice wasn’t accusatory—it was more like she didn’t understand why he would do something so sweet when she felt so far from deserving it.
“Because…” Lando stepped closer, his chest tightening again as he searched for the right words. “Because I love you, and I’ve been an idiot. I should’ve known how all of this would make you feel, and I didn’t—” He took a deep breath, his voice catching slightly. “You’re everything to me, Y/N. I don’t care what anyone says. I only care about you.”
She looked at him, her eyes softening, but the hurt was still there. “Lando, I just… I don’t want to feel like I’m not enough for you. And with everything people are saying—”
“Stop,” Lando interrupted, stepping closer and setting the flowers and chocolates down so he could take her hands in his. “You are more than enough. You’re everything. I hate that you ever doubted that, and I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to stop it before it got this far.”
His voice cracked, the weight of his guilt pouring out. “I should’ve texted you, called you, anything. I hate that you had to sit there and read all those stupid comments. I love you, Y/N. No one else, not Amelia, not anyone. Just you.”
Y/N’s lip trembled, her walls breaking down as she looked into his eyes. “I just… I don’t want to lose you.”
“You won’t,” Lando promised, his voice firm as he pulled her into a tight hug. “You won’t lose me. I’m right here, and I’m not going anywhere.”
She buried her face in his chest, her tears soaking into his shirt, but Lando didn’t care. All that mattered was that she was in his arms, and he was never letting go.
“I love you,” she whispered against his chest, her voice muffled but full of emotion.
“I love you more,” Lando murmured, kissing the top of her head softly. "Always."
-`♡´--`♡´--`♡´-
The race weekend buzz filled the paddock, mechanics and engineers bustling around in preparation for the big day. Lando stood near his McLaren, helmet in hand, but his eyes were focused on Y/N, standing just a few feet away. She was watching him, that small, soft smile on her lips that always made his heart race more than any lap could.
They hadn’t spoken much since arriving at the track, but everything between them felt different now—closer, stronger. And as Lando walked toward her, the noise of the paddock seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them.
Y/N looked up, her eyes meeting his. “Ready to win today?” she asked, her voice teasing but full of warmth.
Lando grinned, but something stirred in him as he stood there, watching her. He couldn’t shake the overwhelming feeling that he needed to do more—show her, not just tell her, how much she meant to him. Not later, not when the race was over, but now. Right now.
Without thinking twice, he closed the gap between them in two quick strides. His helmet dropped from his hand, clattering to the ground, but he didn’t care.
“Lando?” Y/N asked, her eyes widening in surprise as he reached for her.
Before she could say anything more, Lando cupped her face in his hands, pulling her in for a kiss—a deep, passionate kiss that made the world around them disappear. His lips moved against hers with an intensity that spoke louder than words ever could, his hands trembling slightly as he held her close.
Y/N gasped into the kiss, her fingers instinctively gripping the front of his race suit as she melted into him, caught completely off guard by the suddenness of it. But the way he kissed her—the urgency, the need—told her everything she needed to know.
When he finally pulled away, both of them were breathless, their foreheads resting together. The paddock around them had come to a standstill, everyone frozen in place, eyes wide as they witnessed the moment.
Lando smiled softly, his thumb brushing against her cheek as he whispered, “I love you so much, Y/N. And I don’t care who knows it.”
Y/N’s eyes sparkled with a mixture of shock and happiness, her cheeks flushed. “Lando… I—”
But before she could finish, he kissed her again—this time softer, more tender, but still just as full of meaning.
When he pulled back, Y/N let out a small laugh, shaking her head. “You do realize you just kissed me in front of half the grid, right?”
Lando grinned, glancing around for the first time to see the eyes of drivers, team members, and media locked on them. Phones were out, no doubt capturing the moment that was already spreading across the internet like wildfire.
“Good,” he said with a mischievous smirk. “Now the whole world knows who I love.”
Y/N laughed, rolling her eyes as she playfully hit his chest. “You’re such a show-off.”
“Only for you,” Lando teased, pulling her in for one last quick kiss. “Gotta give them something to talk about, right?”
As he bent down to grab his helmet, his eyes stayed locked on hers, the playful grin never leaving his face. He knew what he’d just done—how this moment was going to blow up online, how everyone was going to be talking about the “kiss heard ‘round the paddock.”
And honestly, he didn’t care. Let them talk. Let them post. Let the internet go wild.
He winked at her as he started to back toward the car. “Wish me luck?”
Y/N smiled brightly, her heart racing from the kiss and the moment that felt so surreal. “You don’t need luck,” she called after him. “You’ve got me.”
Lando laughed, a lightness in his chest as he put on his helmet, ready for the race. But before he climbed into the car, he stole one last glance at her.
And when he saw her standing there, beaming at him, he knew—he’d already won.
By the time Lando was strapped in and the race was about to begin, the internet had already exploded.
“Lando Norris pulls Y/N into a kiss before the race—power move!” “Is this the most romantic moment in F1 history?” “#LandosLove trending as fans lose their minds over that kiss.”
But all that mattered to Lando, sitting in his McLaren, was the fact that Y/N was there, watching him, and she knew—without a doubt—that she was the only one he cared about.
And today, he was going to win. For her.
-`♡´--`♡´--`♡´-
As soon as the kiss went viral, Instagram was flooded with posts, stories, and comments, with fans going absolutely wild over the moment.

what was the destiny of wyll in your durge "canon" run? I mean this karlach piece made me really sad (in a good way its beautiful art as always) and got curious of how wyll's story ended. I mean since the "happiest" end we can get to karlach is having wyll going with her to avernus.
(Obligatory disclaimer that shouldn't be obligatory: My interpretations of these characters are my own, and are painted by the types of stories *I* find interesting. I'm not interested in being correct, only in having fun with the fiction.)
Wyll was there! But earlier in the release of the game you couldn't suggest that he join her in Avernus. You either went with her yourself, or allowed her to die - which, to be honest, I kind of like and feel as if that outcome fits in best with the themes of the game, hence why I haven't changed it despite how you're now able to save her that way. That said, this does mean that my Wyll is a man who did not make that offer, which is something I take into account for his character.
He did survive the entirety of the game and technically got everything that he wanted. He broke his contract with Mizora (at DU Drow's behest, bafflingly enough) AND still got to see his father safe and sound. I think he stays behind to help rebuild Baldur's Gate and follow in his father's footsteps - he remains set on his front of heroism but goes on to become more of a politic's man.
DU drow's perception of Wyll is probably the most enmeshed with my own intepretation of his character. Wyll puzzles me. I understand there was some tribulation behind his development which might be at fault, but his one-noteness is so well-performed that it can feel purposeful. I spent the whole game looking forward to that moment in his character's arc when he finally cracked - when he reveals the rogue justiciar's attitude to have been a facade this whole time, and how angry he is that the world (his world - Baldur's Gate, his father) doesn't see him how he sees himself - like one of the protagonists in the story books he read as a child. I wish he told you that, could he go back, he would have set the city ablaze.
But he never does that. He doesn't really go through a ton (if any) development. if anything he feels more and more helpless as the game goes on - which could make for a VERY interesting character, had that been explored.
And, minus the complexities, that's kind of the view DU drow had of him. All bark and no bite and someone who remained so strangely passive before his own fate that it frustrated him to the point of action. Of COURSE you want to break your contract with Mizora, are you crazy? Oh, your dad is here? Okay, fine, we'll get him I guess, maybe he'll talk some sense into you. You believe in some sort of fairy-tale undead dragon who will save the city? Fine, lets go take a look, maybe when you realize that isn't real you will finally snap out of this stupor you exist in.
This of course very much reflects my own desire to see what the hell Wyll's deal was by actually going through with his storyline, but retroactively it did also introduce this aspect of DU drow's character that wasn't there before - of a guy who will sometimes decide to do whats best for you out of spite.
Anyways. They don't get along.

SWEET CREATURE !
percy jackson x aphrodite! reader

‧₊˚✧ lydia’s yap fest ! ✧˚₊‧
happy valentine’s day everyone! hope you guys enjoy this. could possibly make this a series if it’s liked enough. love ya!!!
walking around camp half blood at this time of year seemed to mock you. the fellow aphrodite’s kids seemed to be focused on finding a valentine. now, dot get it twisted. you wanted a valentine. bad. the only problem with this was, well, your intense and completely obvious crush on percy jackson. something about his confidence and charismatic aura drew you in and ruined you for anyone and everyone else.
there was another problem with this. percy jackson happened to be your best friend. you had tried everything to get these feelings to go away. dating other camp members, having different flings, setting percy up with other people, and tartarus, you even had people give you love potions. nothing worked. it was getting unbearable for everyone surrounding the two of you. in particular, annabeth and grover seemed the most annoyed.
the pair had also tried to help you guys understand how perfect you two would be together. however, you and him both refused any sort of insinuation of romance. it’s not that you didn’t want to be with him. quite the opposite, actually. you just didn’t see the point of wasting your friendship by risking him not feeling the same way. keeping him close as a friend was better than loosing him.
infact, you had encouraged him to ask another camp member out. this led you to your current predicament, watching him as he walked with kailey ( a girl from cabin five ). this had been his choice—he insisted she was ‘interesting enough’. you could see by the look on his face that he didn’t truly enjoy her company all that much.
“ya know, this could all be avoided if you just told him how you feel.” annabeth said from next to you, throwing a pointed look in your direction. you chose to ignore the sarcastic tone of her voice as she spoke.
“how i feel? i feel like he’s my best friend and i can’t jeopardize that. they look to be having fun.” the second sentence came out as if you were trying to convince yourself as well.
as if the universe wanted to mock you more, percy and kailey made their way over to you. annabeth looked at you, praying that you noticed the bored look on percy’s face. you gave her a look as to say ‘stop it’ before turning to shoot a smile in the direction of the approaching pair. kailey seemed to have a permanent scowl on her face while percy’s expression shifted upon seeing you. his uninterested features changed to those of contentment when your smile entered his vision.
“hey, y/n!” percy’s pace increased the closer he got to you, leaving kailey slightly behind him.
“hey, perce. kailey.” you nodded in her direction, warranting an eye-roll from the girl. “what’re you guys up to?”
“just, ya know. walking around. sat at the dock for a little bit.” percy responded. him and kailey stood an unusual distance away from eachother.
“percy, im gonna go. come fine me when you’re done with. . . this.” kailey rolled her eyes for what seemed like tenth time in the short period that she stood there. she brushed his arm slightly before turning and walking away.
“well isn’t she just a ray of sunshine.” annabeth snorted, laughing slightly.
percy agreed quickly, “she’s. . . something. that’s for sure.” he rubbed the back of his neck.
“not feeling it?” you asked. he shook his head no, moving to sit next to you. his arm quickly fell over your shoulders.
this made annabeth abruptly stand up. “well, as much as i would love so stay and chat, i have shit to do. see you two later?”
“mhm. later!” percy said.
“bye, annie!” you added. as the girl walked away, you turned in percy’s direction. “is she really that terrible?” you asked.
“she’s . . . okay, i guess. not really my type.” his arm fell from your shoulders, hand moving to hold your own instead. this was something percy had developed on the numerous quests you two had gone on together. his need for physical closeness was something that many found annoying, but you found endearing.
“oh yeah? and what might your type be classified as?” you laughed.
“oh, ya know. i like a girl who’s smart, kind, funny, caring. all the usual things. i also like a girl who sets me up on dates with other people because she doesn’t realize i’m hopelessly in love with her. that’s my ideal woman.” he shrugged as if it were nothing.
your jaw had officially found the floor. “i—i’m sorry. . . what?” you were sure you had heard him wrong.
“you know what i said, y/n.” percy’s face turned serious as he turned his entire boy towards you.
“do i? because it sounds a lot like a confession.” you tried to lighten the situation, laughing slightly before halting.
“y/n, you’re making this extremely hard for me.” percy’s face had begun to turn a shade of crimson.
“how so?” you kept a serious face, struggling not to crack a smile.
“y/n. . . i’m completely and utterly in love with you. the way you laugh, the way you smile, the way you laugh again because, dam, i love that sound, the way you twirl the strand of hair by your ear when you’re nervous, the way you stick your tongue out slightly when you’re focused. i love the way that you talk about your niche interests and the way that you always put up with my bullshit. i love how deeply you care about everyone, even the people who don’t deserve it. i love the contentment in your eyes when we’re sitting at the beach. i love you because you’re you, and that’s the best person you can be.” percy didn’t once break eye contact through his speech.
it was official. this was the first time in your like that you had been rendered completely speechless. your palms became sweaty and your heart was racing. being a child of aphrodite normally meant you reacted better to love situations. this didn’t help you much now, though. instead, the only thing you could think of doing in that moment was leaning forward to connect your lips.
it wasn’t beautiful or a ‘sparks fly’ moment. it was quick and chaste, you moving away as quickly as you moved forward. once you pulled away, you looked percy in the eyes. his expression had shifted from one of fear to hunger. his hand came up, finding the back of your neck and pulling you into him again. his lips were warm and soft against yours. he tasted of sea salt and blue pancakes, a combination that only percy jackson could pull off. his free hand found it way to your waist, pulling you closer to him.
once the two of you could no longer breathe, you both pulled away at a slow pace. he kept his forehead against yours.
“gods, i have been waiting a millennia to do that.” percy laughed, kissing your cheek. his head moved from yours to the crook of your neck.
“me too, perseus.” your hand reached up, lacing itself into his hair.
“fucking finally! gods, i was starting to loose hope!” grover said, seemingly appearing out of nowhere.
“me too, honestly.” percy spoke, lifting his head to look at grover.
“you too?” you asked, confused.
“y/n, you’re literally the only person who didn’t know about percy’s massive crush.” grover explained.
you averted your gaze towards percy, who shrugged in confirmation. your face heated up. safe to say that you had managed to find yourself a valentine, though kailey from cabin five wasn’t too happy.

summary: soobin’s always thought of you as his little sister. but now, things are starting to feel… different. with soobin off studying to become a pilot, the distance only makes things more confusing.
genre: fluff!!! slight angst, not too bad
characters: childhood bestfriend!soobin x f!reader
words: 12.5k
warnings: implied sex but no smut
a/n: kinda based on caleb from lnds bec im obsessed LMFAO ;-;
“Guess who?”
Your vision darkened as two hands gently covered your eyes. The warmth of familiar fingers sent a nostalgic tingle down your spine, and you immediately recognized the tiny calluses on them.
A small smile tugged at your lips. “Judging by the lack of moisture in your hands, I’d say it’s a loser.”
A dramatic gasp came from behind you. “Boo, you're no fun.” Soobin removed his hands with an exaggerated sigh before nudging you with his shoulder. “Y’know, I’d assume you’d be happier to see me.” He spun you around so you were facing him, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
You hated to admit it, but he looked good—better than when you last saw him. His hair was slightly longer, brushing just above his brows, but still neatly styled like the perfectionist he was. He wore his pilot uniform with effortless confidence—the crisp navy-blue jacket adorned with insignia, gold stripes neatly embroidered on the cuffs, and a pressed white shirt underneath. The matching trousers completed the look, making him appear every bit the disciplined and ambitious aviator he had always dreamed of becoming.
“And why would I be?” You crossed your arms, looking up at your childhood friend, who stood nearly two heads taller than you.
Soobin placed a hand over his heart in mock offense. “Wow. So cold. Let’s see… The last time we saw each other was a month ago, before your exams. That means the stress is over. You probably missed your favorite person on Earth—me—and now here I am, gracing you with my presence.” He grinned, his voice dripping with playful sarcasm. “So, I don’t see why you’re not grinning like the peach that you are.”
You rolled your eyes, but a smile was already creeping onto your face. “You’re insufferable.”
“Ah, there it is! A smile!” He pointed at you triumphantly. “See? You did miss me.”
You groaned, lightly shoving his shoulder. “Don’t flatter yourself.”
He chuckled, slinging an arm over your shoulder like old times. “Too late, Kiddo.”
“You’ve got to stop calling me that.” You brushed his arm off your shoulder before narrowing your eyes at him. “Also, why the hell are you here? In your uniform, no less… You’re attracting way too much attention.”
Your gaze flickered around, noticing your schoolmates whispering, gasping, and outright staring. Some pointed in disbelief, eyes wide as they took in the sight of your unfortunately handsome best friend—now made even more infuriatingly attractive in his full pilot uniform.
“I didn’t have time to change if I wanted to pick you up,” he said casually.
“You didn’t have to pick me up.”
“Oh? And who’s gonna drive you home then?”
“I’ve been taking the bus since you left.”
“Don’t say it like I abandoned you.”
You wanted to say but you did, but you swallowed the words instead.
“Alright,” he sighed, nodding. “Fine. Next time, I’ll wear a tank top and jeans when I pick you up. How about that?”
—
On the way back, you couldn’t help but steal glances at him. How was work? How was his training? How was—well, how was everything? But somehow, you couldn’t bring yourself to ask any of those questions. Still, Soobin knew you well enough.
“I’m okay,” he said, as if reading your thoughts. “I’ll always be okay.” He grinned, his eyes curling into full crescents.
You nodded. “Good. I don’t need the only person in my life to—”
“I won’t.” He ruffled your hair. “C’mon. I’m me. Do you really think something’s gonna—”
“Don’t.” You glared at him.
Soobin, with his towering height, sharp vision, and unshakable determination, had always dreamed of becoming a pilot. Ever since you were kids, he had talked about flying—how he wanted to touch the clouds, how the sky felt like the only place vast enough to hold his ambitions. You had always supported him, picturing him in a crisp commercial pilot’s uniform, announcing flight routes in his deep, steady voice.
But that wasn’t enough for him. He didn’t just want to fly; he wanted to soar. Instead of charting safe routes in passenger planes, he had set his sights on something more dangerous, more demanding. He had signed up to be a fighter pilot—a career that meant grueling training, high-stakes missions, and a future teetering between triumph and risk.
You had argued with him about it before, pleaded with him to reconsider. But Soobin, stubborn as ever, had only grinned and said, “If I’m going to fly, I might as well reach for the impossible, right?”
“Soobin,” You attempted to argue but you knew him better than anyone else. He was just as stubborn as he was perfect.
“I’m gonna be fine and I’m always gonna be beside you. I promise.”
And here he was, right beside you. Just like he promised.
—
The two of you sat at the dinner table, your legs swinging back and forth, occasionally bumping against Soobin’s calves.
“I like what you’ve done with the apartment,” Soobin remarked, glancing around.
“Nothing’s changed.”
“I beg to differ.” He shoved a piece of chicken into his mouth before standing up, making his way toward a single flower sitting in a makeshift vase. He tilted his head, inspecting it with amusement. “And hey, you even buy flowers now.”
“I didn’t get them,” you replied, shrugging. “You know me and flowers… I say it’ll be dead in a few days.”
“Three, max.” He chuckled before giving the flower another once-over, noticing a small tag tied on the stalk of the rose. “Beomgyu?” He turned back to you, raising a brow. “Who’s that?”
“A classmate,” you said casually. “He gave me those flowers for Valentine’s. It’s nothing, really.”
“A boy?” He muttered, his expression shifting as he sauntered over to you. “Kiddo’s all grown up.”
“He’s just a classmate, Soobin.”
You knew better than to admit that Beomgyu had actually shown interest in you. The last time Soobin found out someone had potential feelings for you, the poor boy had shown up to school looking visibly distressed—and nearly teared up every time you so much as glanced at him.
“He gave them to everyone then?” Soobin pressed.
You stayed silent.
"Oh," he smirked, his voice dripping with amusement. "So Kiddo’s got an admirer."
"It’s not like that," you tried to explain, shaking your head. "We just worked together on an assignment, and we did really well. He’s a good guy."
"A good guy," Soobin repeated, nodding slowly. "Not your favorite though, right?"
You laughed, tilting your head at him. "Are you jealous?"
He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Kinda, yeah. I’m worried someone’s gonna take my place."
You hadn’t expected him to be so blunt. Rolling your eyes, you kicked his ankle under the table. He groaned, grabbing his leg dramatically.
"As if anyone could replace you," you scoffed. "Look… you’ve been gone for a month, we barely see each other—maybe two weeks total in an entire year—but I’m still wearing the necklace you got me. Every day. Just in case you actually remember me and decide to show up."
His playful demeanor shifted in an instant. His eyes darkened, lips pressing together as he took a step closer.
"Kiddo," he said, voice quieter now. "I do remember you."
"Sure you do."
His jaw clenched, and before you could react, he was moving—slow, deliberate steps closing the space between you.
"Do you think," his voice was low, almost dangerous, "that a single day goes by where I don’t think about you?"
Your breath hitched. The last time he was this serious was when you had accidentally shut off the electricity in the middle of his ranked game. But this was different.
Soobin stopped at the leg of your chair, leaning down until his face was mere inches from yours. His cologne—clean, crisp, a little like rain—filled your senses. His gaze flickered from your eyes to your lips, lingering there just long enough for your pulse to stutter.
"Because if you do," he murmured, his voice dropping lower, "you’d be lying to yourself."
"Wh-why so?" Your voice came out weaker than you intended.
He exhaled softly, his hand resting on the back of your chair, effectively trapping you between him and the table.
"You always say you know me better than anyone." His eyes never left yours. "So if you really do… then you’d know just how much this—" he motioned between the two of you, his fingers grazing your wrist "—means to me."
Your heart pounded.
"I think about you before I sleep. When I wake up. When I’m in class. Hell, even when I’m up in the sky."
You swallowed hard, your breath shaky. "That’s… a lot."
"And that’s only half of it." His voice had grown impossibly deep, sending a shiver down your spine.
Your fingers curled into your lap. The tension between you crackled, thick, suffocating. Your lips parted involuntarily, and for a second—just a second—you swore he was about to close the distance.
Then, suddenly, his smile returned, effortlessly lazy.
"But of course," he mused, pulling back just enough to make your chest tighten, "I do think of other things."
Just like that, the moment was gone. The breath you’d been holding escaped in a rush, your head spinning from the heat of it all.
Soobin, ever the tease, just grinned—like he hadn’t just turned your entire world upside down.
—
When you were nine, lost and alone for the first time, Soobin’s mother took you in. You were angry—at the world, at the circumstances that had ripped you away from everything familiar. And Soobin, a few years older, became the unfortunate target of your fury. You lashed out, pushed him away every time he tried to get close. You hated everything.
But Soobin never stopped trying.
At ten, something shifted. One morning, you woke up feeling just a little less angry. The walls you had built weren’t gone, but they had cracks. That day, for the first time, you ate the bowl of cereal Soobin had prepared for you. It was soggy by the time you finally touched it, but he didn’t care. His grin stretched wide, brighter than the morning sun, because it was the first thing you had accepted from him.
At eleven, you started lingering in his room. You never asked, never said a word, just sat there as he played video games or flipped through a book. He never questioned it. He’d toss you a controller, let you pick the next movie, slide half of his blanket over when the air got too cold.
By twelve, the two of you were inseparable. He was the older brother you never had, the one who understood your silences, who never pried but always stayed. The one who made a home feel a little less lonely.
“Soobin,” you called out, your voice barely above a whisper. The room was dark, shadows stretching across the walls as the faint glow of the streetlights seeped through the curtains. You had just woken up, your hair a tangled mess, your pink pajamas standing out starkly against the dimly lit space. But Soobin wasn’t there.
You rubbed the sleep from your eyes, shifting uncomfortably on your feet. “Soobin?” you tried again, a little louder this time.
“Kiddo.”
You jumped at the sudden voice behind you, your heart nearly leaping out of your chest. You turned to see him standing by the door, arms crossed, his expression amused. “What’re you doing up so late?”
You felt ridiculous admitting the truth—that the thunder had startled you, that the loud crashes outside had made the emptiness of the room feel unbearable.
“Nothing,” you muttered, hugging your pillow tighter.
Soobin tilted his head, unconvinced. “The thunder scare you?”
You stayed silent, refusing to confirm it, but he knew you too well.
With a small sigh, he walked over and patted the bed. “C’mon. Sleep here.”
Your eyes widened slightly. “What about you?”
He nodded toward the couch in the corner of his room. “I’ll sleep there. It’s fine.”
You hesitated, but the warmth of his presence was comforting. “Are you sure?”
Soobin smiled, the kind of smile that made you feel safe. “Just call my name if you need anything.”
At age 19, when Soobin told you he had been accepted into flight school, it felt like the ground beneath you shifted. You were happy for him, of course, proud even. But the truth was, a deep, overwhelming sense of devastation settled in your chest. Your rock—your anchor—was leaving. The one constant in your life, the person you could always count on, was being pulled away.
He’d be gone for months at a time, and when he came back, it would only be for a few weekends. Maybe a week in total over the span of a year. It wasn’t enough. It would never be enough.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you turned away, not wanting to face him. Soobin, standing there in his oversized jacket, the duffel bag slung over his shoulder, looked more like a stranger than the best friend you’d grown up with. You couldn’t bear to watch him leave.
He tapped your shoulder gently, but you shrugged it off, determined to keep your composure. You didn’t want him to see how much it hurt, how much you would miss him.
“I’m fine,” you hiccuped, your voice cracking as you tried to stifle the sobs. But the tears kept coming, breaking through the facade you were desperately trying to maintain.
Soobin stepped closer, his hand resting gently on your back. “It’ll just be for a few months,” he said softly, his voice steady, though you could hear the weight of his own emotions beneath it. “I’ll come back to you the moment I can.”
But even then, it didn’t feel like enough.
—
There was something unnerving about people who could sleep through anything, even in the midst of a distressing situation. You watched as Soobin—always so unbothered, so calm—drifted off easily, his breathing steady and deep, while you lay wide awake, caught in your own thoughts.
Your relationship with Soobin had always been easy to define—older brother and younger sister. It was simple, comfortable, and familiar. But as the years passed, as you both grew older, the lines started to blur. You had friends with older brothers, but none of them had the same dynamic you shared with Soobin. Sure, Soobin wasn’t your biological brother, but he had always felt like one. And maybe that was part of the problem.
Lately, you found yourself tossing and turning in bed, wondering exactly what your relationship with Soobin was. You could be yourself around him, no question there. But somehow, there was a hesitation now, a wariness. You walked on eggshells, careful of every word, every movement. Always afraid that you might accidentally do something that would make him see you differently—make him find you... well, embarrassing.
But the thing was, it didn’t matter how careful you were. You always ended up embarrassing yourself anyway. Whether it was a slip-up in conversation or a stupid mistake that left you red-faced, it seemed like there was no escaping it. Soobin never made you feel bad for it, though. He never pointed out how awkward you could be. But that only made the moments of embarrassment sting more, because you weren’t sure if he noticed and just didn’t say anything—or if he actually didn’t mind. Or worse, if he didn’t even care at all.
You sighed, burying your face in the pillow. Whatever it was, it was complicated. And tonight, it felt heavier than usual.
—
“Are you fucking kidding me?” You muttered to yourself, standing at the entrance of your campus, staring at the sky as the rain came pouring down in thick sheets. Your bright dress, now damp and clinging to your skin, felt like a cruel joke in the face of nature's wrath. Of all the days to forget your umbrella, it had to be the day the sky opened up like hell itself.
“Need some shade?” A voice broke through your frustration. You turned to find Beomgyu, his familiar grin plastered across his face.
You sighed in relief. “Oh, thank God. I thought I was going to be stuck in this stupid rain forever. Not to mention, I have about three assignments from Mr. Kang due today.”
“You’re not done?” Beomgyu’s laughter rang out, clearly amused by your predicament.
“No,” you groaned, “I stayed up all night yesterday, playing ranked with someone who wouldn’t let me sleep.” You shot a side-eye at him.
“Weren’t you the one who kept saying, ‘one more! One more!’” Beomgyu teased, nudging you lightly as he stood beside you.
“Actually—”
A throat cleared from in front of you.
You froze, recognizing the deep, familiar voice before you even had the chance to look up. There he was. Soobin. The last time you'd seen him, he had almost kissed you at the dining table, leaving you in a whirlwind of confusion.
And now, there he stood—dressed in his aviator uniform, the same one he’d promised not to wear around your campus. It was a strange mix of familiar and foreign, making your heart skip a beat. In his hand, he held a yellow umbrella, an offering that seemed to make the rain somehow less threatening.
“Soobin,” you blinked, still caught off guard by the unexpected encounter.
“Kiddo,” he said, your nickname slipping from his lips with such bite that it almost felt like a curse, the venom in his tone thick enough to feel.
“Hey, Beom. Why don’t we just catch up next time? I think... I’ll head out with my brother.” You fumbled over the words, the awkwardness of the situation sinking in.
Beomgyu looked between you and Soobin, brows furrowing. “I didn’t know you had a brother.”
“She doesn’t,” Soobin responded, his voice colder than usual as he tugged at your wrist, pulling you under the shelter of his umbrella and away from Beomgyu’s.
As you walked side by side, the weight of the silence between you and Soobin grew thicker with each step. The rain pelted down around you, but somehow, it only intensified the tension that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. Every step you took toward his car felt like it carried an unspoken question hanging in the air, something that neither of you were ready to address.
The usual playful banter, the comfortable teasing, was nowhere to be found. It was just you, him, and the storm.
“Brother,” he repeated, his voice low, a strange edge to it. “Is that what I am?”
You bit your tongue, resisting the urge to say, Isn’t that what you are? but you held back. The last thing you wanted was for him to be even angrier than he already was.
“You can’t always barge into my school—” you started, but he cut you off.
“I didn’t barge in. And it’s not like I’m always around. I only get to see you three times a year,” he shot back, frustration clear in his voice.
“And whose fault is that?” You raised your voice, the heat of your own irritation rising.
The words hung in the air between you, charged with the unspoken resentment that had been building for months, maybe even longer. Each sentence felt like it was leading somewhere neither of you were ready to go.
“You don’t think this is driving me crazy?” His voice cracked, the frustration in his tone raw and desperate.
“What?” you asked, unable to understand where he was going.
“This…” He stopped walking, turning to face you fully, his eyes dark with emotion. The rain hammered down on both of you, the world around you drowned in the heavy downpour. “I dread every single time I have to go back to school, but you—" He took a breath, his chest rising and falling as if the words were physically painful. "You don’t understand how hard it is for me, do you?"
You shook your head, fighting the urge to pull away. "Then why’d you have to leave?"
His face softened, but there was still tension, thick and unresolved between you two. “This is my dream, kiddo. I can’t just give it up.”
In your head, when you were rational, you understood him. You knew this was his dream, knew he was doing what he needed for himself. But the irrational part of you—the selfish, bitter part—hated him for leaving you behind.
And right now, that irrational part was winning.
—-
Two months passed, and Soobin kept his promise, making an effort to call you, FaceTime you, and stay connected. His presence, even from miles away, felt constant, like he was always there, right beside you, despite the distance.
“My school’s having an open house next week. Care for a tour?” Soobin’s voice came through the speaker of your phone, his eyes bright as he grinned at you through the screen.
You were getting ready to go out with your friends, carefully applying your makeup, with Soobin’s FaceTime open in the background. Every so often, you'd catch him staring at you. A small smile tugged at your lips as you caught him watching.
“Sounds boring,” you teased, tilting your head as you brushed on mascara.
“C’mon. You finally get to see what I’ve been doing!” he pressed, leaning in closer to the screen. The playful glint in his eyes was impossible to miss.
“A bunch of men in sunglasses, walking around—how’s that fun?” you joked, giving him a look.
“You get to see me,” Soobin grinned, his expression softening as if that was the only reason you’d need.
You paused for a second, the playful tension between you two flickering in the air. Soobin never seemed to shy away from making you smile, and just hearing his voice was a comfort, even if it was through a screen.
“Fine. But what do I get out of this?” you challenged, a smirk playing on your lips.
Soobin’s face lit up, his eyes gleaming mischievously. “I’ll treat you to the best steak dinner in town,” he sang, practically grinning ear to ear.
“Fine.”
—
You tiptoed, scanning the expansive campus before you, feeling like a small fish in an ocean of ivy-covered buildings and sleek modern structures. This wasn’t anything like your school. While your own college had its charm—basic yet cozy—this place was a whole new level. Soobin had told you countless stories about his prestigious flight school, but you hadn’t quite grasped the sheer scale of it until now.
You scratched the back of your head, feeling entirely out of place. The student helper had handed you a map with a bright smile, showing you the way, but now, standing here, all you felt was confusion. The buildings were enormous, towering over you in their stark, polished splendor.
Your eyes scanned the map again, trying to make sense of it. "For Pete's sake," you muttered under your breath, "I'm a marketing major, not a map reader." The arrows, the numbers, the squiggly lines—they all blurred together as you tried to figure out where to go next.
You tilted your head, feeling even more disoriented. Maybe it wasn’t the worst idea to just follow the crowd and hope they were heading in the right direction, but the thought of getting lost in this campus—alone—didn’t sit well with you. Soobin had warned you it was big, but you had no idea it was this... overwhelming.
With a sigh, you stuffed the map into your bag and made your way toward the nearest building, hoping for some sort of sign. You were here for him, after all, so you might as well try to make the most of it.
“I knew you'd get lost.” You heard Soobin’s voice before you saw him, and when you turned around, he was standing there, hands casually tucked in his pockets, a grin already playing at his lips.
“Soobin!” you exclaimed, rushing toward him without thinking. You jumped into his arms, and before you knew it, his strong arms were securely around your waist, lifting you off the ground. You wrapped your legs around his waist, holding onto his shoulders tightly as he spun you around with a surprised laugh.
“Whoa there!” Soobin chuckled, his voice low but warm. He adjusted you in his arms, steadying you as you both laughed. “Miss me that much?” he teased, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
“No idea what you’re talking about,” you grinned, playfully pretending to look away as if it was no big deal, even though your heart was racing just a little faster from being so close to him.
“Well, I didn’t know our captain had a little girlfriend,” Soobin heard the teasing voice, and as he turned, he spotted his classmate, Yeonjun, casually strolling over with a knowing grin on his face.
Soobin’s cheeks flushed slightly at the comment, and he quickly shifted his gaze back to you, still holding you in his arms. You, in turn, gave him an exaggerated pout, sensing the awkwardness creeping in but unable to hide your playful smile.
"Hey!" Soobin called out, waving at Yeonjun, and then turning to you with a sheepish smile. "Uh, this is Yeonjun, my buddy from school, and this is my..." Soobin trailed off, his words hanging in the air for a moment as he awkwardly fumbled for a way to introduce you.
You raised an eyebrow, waiting for the rest of his sentence. Your hands still resting on his shoulders, you felt a playful tug at your lips, enjoying the teasing moment.
“Well?” you prompted with a teasing grin, your heart fluttering with excitement.
Soobin let out a small sigh, clearly not expecting the teasing tone in your voice. He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, glancing between you and Yeonjun before simply introducing you with just your name.
You smiled, though there was a hint of disappointment in the simplicity of his introduction. It was no surprise, really. After all, things between you and Soobin had never been clear-cut. The bond between the two of you had always felt different than any friendship you’d had before. You weren't sure if it was just the history, the closeness, or something more. And maybe he didn’t either.
But for a moment, you wondered if that was the problem. Maybe Soobin was as unsure as you were about the lines between friendship and something else. You tried to push the thought away, not wanting to make things awkward with his friend or with Soobin, but you couldn't help the way your heart sank a little.
You could feel your cheeks heating up. It was funny, wasn't it? How a few words could stir up so many feelings.
You decided to let it go, brushing it off with a small laugh, not wanting to make things weird. “Well, nice to meet you, Yeonjun,” you said with a smile, even though a small part of you was still wondering what you really meant to Soobin.
—
Soobin was practically beaming as he led you through the bustling campus, introducing you to what seemed like every single person he passed. You were taken aback by how popular he was—lecturers waving at him from across the hall, students stopping to chat, and even the cafeteria lady greeting him by name.
As he continued to show you around, he gestured toward a large open area ahead of you. Your eyes widened in awe as you saw rows of jets and small planes lined up, gleaming in the sunlight.
“And this is, of course, where the magic happens,” Soobin said.
You stood in awe, unable to hide your excitement. "This is so cool. I had no idea it would be this... massive," you said, still taking it all in.
Then, with that mischievous glint in his eyes, Soobin shot you a confident smirk. "Wanna see me go for a spin?" he asked, clearly enjoying the attention his world was getting from you.
You blinked, taken aback by his sudden offer. “Is that allowed?” you asked, your voice almost timid as you tried to understand the logistics of what he was suggesting.
Soobin waved off your concern with a casual shrug, the cocky grin still firmly in place. “Yeah, I just gotta make sure the control tower knows what’s up.” He nodded.
You laughed nervously, but the thrill of being with Soobin in his element started to take over. “Alright, Mr. Confident. Show me what you got.” You crossed your arms, trying to look more composed than you felt, but your heart was racing.
Soobin's world was so far beyond anything you had ever imagined, and yet, somehow, being here with him made everything feel... a little more exciting.
“Soobin, what are you—” you started to ask, but he was already pulling you toward one of the planes, his grip firm but gentle on your wrist.
“C’mon,” he urged with a playful smile. “Just sit here and wear this. It’s gonna get… a little loud.” He handed you a pair of large headphones, the kind you might wear at a concert or a race track, and gently placed them on your head before you could protest.
You adjusted the thick, padded ear covers, feeling a bit out of place but oddly excited. "Loud? What do you mean by loud?" you asked, eyeing him skeptically, though the thrill was starting to build inside you.
With a grin, Soobin gave you a wink. “Trust me, you’ll see,” he said, giving you one last reassuring squeeze on your wrist before heading to the cockpit.
You watched as he climbed into the plane, his movements smooth and confident. He looked like someone born to be up there, and for a moment, you forgot about everything else, just taking in the sight of him preparing for takeoff.
“Ready to feel the wind?” Soobin called out, his voice barely audible but still full of that familiar playful tone.
You gave him a thumbs up, a nervous smile tugging at your lips. “I guess I am now!”
The engine roared to life, vibrations running through the ground as the plane’s power surged forward, filling the air with an electric buzz. The noise was deafening, and the plane’s tires rolled across the runway, lifting off into the sky with incredible speed.
There he was, soaring higher and higher, the once small figure on the ground now a speck in the vast expanse above you. The excitement in your chest bloomed as you watched, a mix of awe and pride flooding over you. Soobin was up there, living his dream, and you could only watch.
As you watched him soar higher into the sky, your chest swelled with pride. The frustration, the anger, all the times you had felt hurt by his absence seemed so small now, like distant memories fading in the vastness of the present moment. Watching him take off, you realized something: those petty arguments, those moments of selfishness, they didn’t matter anymore.
“I’m really proud of you,” you said, speaking into the headphones as if the words might somehow reach him in the air. You meant it with every ounce of your being.
Through the muffled sound, Soobin’s voice came back, light but filled with warmth. “You are?”
You nodded, even though he couldn’t see it. “I am.”
You didn’t know if he could hear the emotion in your voice, but it didn’t matter. He had always known how you felt, even when words were hard to come by.
—
“Do you really have to go back so soon?” Soobin’s voice carried a mix of reluctance and something deeper, something unspoken.
You glanced at your phone and sighed. “Soobin, you have class at 5, and it’s already 4:30. I’ve overstayed my welcome. The open house ended two hours ago. It’s time for me to go.”
“Where’s your hotel? I’ll come see you after my training,” he offered quickly, his words almost spilling out too fast, as if he were trying to find a way to keep you here longer.
You gave him a small, understanding smile. “Doesn’t your training end at night?”
“It’s only two hours, I’ll be done by 8 at the latest,” he replied, his voice sounding more desperate, though he tried to mask it with that confident tone you were so used to.
You shook your head softly, though your heart fluttered at his insistence. “Then you should get some rest. You have that flying test tomorrow, and I don’t want to be the reason you’re too tired to focus—”
“You sound like you’re trying to get rid of me,” Soobin muttered, a sigh slipping from his lips, though there was a clear sadness in his voice that made your heart ache.
“Trust me, that’s the last thing on my mind,” you said quickly, your voice soft but sincere. “I just want you to be safe, sound, and well-rested. You’re only half a year away from graduating. You need to ace this test, Soobin. You’ve got to be the best.”
“Fine. You’re right,” Soobin sighed again, but this time, there was an underlying weight to his words. He took a step closer to you, his gaze softening as his eyes lingered on your face. It was almost as if he wanted to say more, something deeper, something that was building between the two of you.
You could see it in the way he looked at you, the way his lips parted slightly, as though he was debating whether to kiss you then and there. But instead, he pulled back, running a hand through his hair in frustration, as if trying to push away the overwhelming emotions he was feeling.
“Alright. I’ll rest. But... I’ll miss you, you know,” Soobin added quietly, his voice barely above a whisper.
You smiled softly, a warmth spreading through your chest. “I’ll miss you too, Soobin. Just take care of yourself. You’ve got this.”
–
At the hotel, you paced around, your thoughts tangled in a mess of emotions. It was your last night in town, and as much as you tried to enjoy the moments you had left, something gnawed at you. You missed Soobin. You craved more of those quiet, private moments with him, just the two of you.
The selfish thoughts crept in again. You thought about how he was always the one picking you up from school, how he was always there for you when you needed him. But now, you wanted to do something for him. You wanted to surprise him. Maybe, just maybe, you could be the one to pick him up for once. He deserved it.
Without thinking twice, you grabbed your jacket, quickly dashing through the hotel lobby. The buzz of the night was fading around you as your heart raced with the urgency of the impulse.
“Taxi!” you called, waving your hand for the nearest one.
The cab pulled over, and you hopped in without a second thought. It was impulsive, reckless even, but you didn’t care. Tonight, you were going to make sure he knew how much you cared, how much you wanted to be there for him—just like he had always been for you.
You knew Soobin took the bus to his rented apartment across town from his school, so you waited at the bus stop for him.
A few kids stood beside you, their laughter filling the air as they played with a strange contraption you couldn't quite identify. It looked like some kind of toy, and every minute or so, you could hear them squealing with excitement. It was adorable. For a moment, it reminded you of you and Soobin—the way you both would joke around and get lost in your little world.
“Hey, do you think I can be a pilot when I grow up?” the boy asked, gesturing toward the school in front of you.
“Sure, if you magically had good eyesight,” the girl giggled, flicking his glasses.
“That’s not very nice!” the boy pouted, clearly offended.
“I’m kidding! I just don’t want you to go. My mummy says that if you go to flight school, you’ll have to stay here for almost three years. You can’t leave me!” the girl yelled, her tone playful but filled with sincerity.
“I won’t! You’re my friend!” the boy reassured her.
“Friend?” she asked with a dramatic pause.
“Okay, fine. Best friend. But I have lots of best friends. One of them can draw really well, and another one can run really fast,” the boy bragged, puffing out his chest.
“You’re not the only one with many friends. I have one too! A friend who can do a backflip! So I think my friend’s definitely cooler than yours!” the girl argued confidently.
“Nuh-uh,” the boy shot back.
“Yuh-huh!” the girl retorted, sticking her tongue out.
“MISS!” Both kids suddenly turned and looked at you in unison, startling you.
You blinked in surprise, eyes widening. “Huh?”
“Can you please tell us whose best friend you think is the coolest?” they both asked, their little eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Just as you were about to answer, a familiar voice called out from behind you.
“What are you doing here?” Soobin’s voice rang out, and you turned to see him standing there, looking both surprised and slightly out of breath. His uniform clung to his sweaty body, his hair tousled from a long day’s work. Despite it all, he looked… really good.
“Surprise!” you smiled, the excitement bubbling inside you at the sight of him.
He blinked, clearly caught off guard, and then his lips curved into a smile as he took in the scene—the two kids staring at you, waiting for an answer, and you standing there, grinning like you were up to something mischievous.
“Well, now I’m curious too,” he chuckled, his voice softening as he stepped closer, his gaze never leaving you. The tension between you two seemed to fill the air as he stood there, waiting for you to respond to the kids’ question. “Who has the coolest best friend?”
Your eyes flicked from top to bottom, taking in Soobin as if you were seeing him for the first time. He was a pilot, for Pete’s sake. A damn pilot who looked like he belonged in a magazine. The way his uniform clung to his body, the way his disheveled hair still made him look effortlessly perfect—it made your heart ache in ways you couldn’t explain.
And then, beyond all the looks, there was everything else.
He was the one who cooked for you when you were hungry (even if it wasn’t the greatest, you appreciated the effort). The one who would call you every time a thunderstorm rolled in just to make sure you could sleep through the noise. He was the one who ordered food for you during exam weeks when you’d forget to eat, completely consumed by your studies.
Soobin was the kind of person who thought of you before himself, every single time. And as you stood there, watching him, it hit you just how lucky you were to have him in your life. But it also left you wondering why you had been so reluctant to admit it.
“Are you just going to stand there, or are you going to tell us whose best friend is cooler?” the little boy’s voice snapped you out of your thoughts, his eager gaze pulling you back to reality.
You blinked, a small laugh escaping your lips as you glanced between Soobin and the kids. There was no contest. “Well, I think,” you paused, locking eyes with Soobin. “My best friend is definitely the coolest.”
The girl rolled her eyes, crossing her arms with an exaggerated sigh. “You’re just saying that because he’s handsome,” she muttered, clearly unimpressed.
“Oh please, my best friend’s a pilot—that’s way cooler than whatever you’ve got going on!” you shot back, sticking your tongue out at her.
The boy gasped dramatically, pointing at you. “You’re a grown woman fighting a child!” he accused, his finger still aimed in your direction.
You raised an eyebrow, feigning mock offense. “I’ll have you know, I’m just a grown woman with excellent taste.” You turned to Soobin, who was standing there, slightly amused by the whole interaction. "Don’t worry, they’re just jealous."
The kids both groaned in unison, clearly giving up on the argument. They turned away, muttering something about how unfair the world was.
“You’re such a loser.” Soobin laughed.
—
"So, this is your bachelor pad?" you asked, glancing around the apartment as you took it all in. The black and white decor was sleek and minimalist, just like Soobin himself. It was everything you'd imagined, yet still somehow more.
You hadn’t seen this place in person before, only catching glimpses of it through his Facetime calls. But now, it was real—and you were here.
Soobin had been quiet ever since the bus stop. You didn’t think much of it. He was probably just tired.
"I can cook dinner for you!" you offered, standing up from the couch, eager to do something.
But before you could take a step, Soobin reached out and pulled you back down, making you sit beside him again.
"Huh?" you blinked, confused by the sudden action. "You okay?"
He nodded slowly, but his eyes were heavy, his exhaustion evident. He reached up, his hand gently cupping your cheek before sliding through your hair.
You froze as his face came closer to yours. For a moment, you didn’t quite understand what was happening. But then, your cheeks flushed crimson as you realized. Your heart started to race, and you felt the weight of his presence more than ever before.
"Soobin?" you whispered, voice barely a sound.
"You don’t know what you do to me," he murmured, his voice low and rough. His gaze dropped to your lips, and his thumb brushed gently across them, sending a shiver through your body. "You have no idea how much I want you."
"Soobin?" The whisper left your lips again, barely audible, as you looked up into his eyes, searching for something—clarity, maybe. You weren’t sure.
His hand tightened its hold on your hair, pulling you closer. His breath was warm against your skin, and for a moment, neither of you spoke.
“I’ve been wanting this for so long,” he confessed, his voice barely a whisper, but it felt like the heaviest thing you’d ever heard. His fingers trailed down your jaw, before resting on your neck, gently tracing the curve.
"Soobin..." your voice was barely a breath, filled with an emotion you couldn’t quite name, but your body knew. His face was so close now, his lips hovering just above yours.
But before anything could happen, Soobin fell back into the couch, his eyes shutting, his body sinking with a soft exhale. The tension in the air seemed to evaporate, replaced by a quiet exhaustion you hadn’t noticed before.
You froze, caught off guard. Soobin's chest rose and fell steadily, his body heavy with the weight of the day.
You sat there for a moment, unsure of what to do next. His hand still rested near your face, but his focus was elsewhere now. His lips were parted slightly as he breathed deeply, clearly drained.
"Soobin?" You tried shaking him gently, your voice soft, but he didn’t stir.
He was asleep. Fully asleep. The weight of the day must've finally caught up with him. You let out a small chuckle, watching the way he looked so peaceful, the kind of tiredness that only came after giving so much of himself.
—
The next morning came with a jarring sound. You jolted awake as loud pans clattered together, and your eyes quickly flicked to the kitchen.
"Soobin?" You called out groggily.
"Shit, did I wake you?" His voice floated back to you, and you spotted him shirtless, moving around the kitchen with a slight sense of chaos in the air.
A part of you wanted to shield your eyes, but another part of you couldn’t help but appreciate the sight. You quickly turned away, reminding yourself that this was Soobin.
"Kinda," you muttered, still avoiding his gaze.
"I was just gonna make you some eggs before you head back to the city," he said, nonchalant, like the situation was completely normal.
You nodded, still looking away, eyes glued on the floor. "Oh."
You heard him chuckle softly as his footsteps grew louder, and then his large palm was suddenly resting on top of your head. You stiffened, feeling the warmth of his touch.
"Something on the floor, kiddo?" Soobin teased, his voice light. "I can put a shirt on if you like."
"It’s okay. It’s your house. I’m just a guest," you mumbled, your voice small as you tried to hide the way your heart was racing from the proximity.
"You’re not even looking at me," he continued, playful.
“It’s not my fault you're walking around half-naked in the apartment–” You looked up, intending to be annoyed, but your words died as you met his gaze, realizing how close your faces were. The air between you felt charged, and your eyes briefly flicked to his abs — defined, sculpted, distracting — before your face turned beet red.
“Cover up,” you muttered quickly, reaching for his shirt and tossing it to him.
He caught it with a grin, but didn’t immediately put it on, still teasing you with that mischievous glint in his eyes. "What’s the rush, kiddo? It’s just me."
You could barely manage a glare, your hands fumbling awkwardly in your lap. "Just... put it on," you repeated, your voice quieter this time.
As you sat on his dining table, you swung your legs, nudging his ankles with yours.
“You still do this?” he said, glancing at you.
“Huh?” you replied, not fully realizing what you were doing.
“Swinging your feet,” he mumbled, glancing at your legs.
“Oh right,” you quickly stopped, suddenly self-conscious.
“I wasn’t complaining,” Soobin said with a small chuckle. “In fact, I kinda miss it. Do you remember how much Mom used to scold you for that?”
You nodded with a smirk. “And you didn’t help when you constantly complained about it to her!”
He grinned, leaning back in his chair. “Hey, someone had to take the fall. It wasn’t like you were going to stop on your own.”
You rolled your eyes playfully. “Right, like you were any better. Always tattling on me.”
Soobin laughed softly. “I wasn’t tattling. I was just... helping Mom keep track of your chaos.”
“I wasn’t that bad!” you protested, though you both knew that wasn’t entirely true. You both had your moments as kids.
“You were always full of energy,” he said with a fond smile. “But I think I miss that. The energy, I mean. Things were simpler back then, weren’t they?”
You paused, the weight of his words settling in. “Yeah... simpler,” you echoed, realizing he was right. Those moments, despite the annoyance at the time, had a kind of warmth to them that you missed.
Soobin glanced at you, his expression softening. "You know, you’re still my little sister, right? Even if you’ve changed a lot, I’ll always see you like that."
You looked up at him, a swirl of emotions swirling in your chest. "I know," you said quietly, a faint smile tugging at your lips.
It was funny—little sister. The words rang in your ears, and though they should’ve comforted you, they did something else entirely. You’d always taken comfort in his protective nature, his constant care, but today, the familiar title struck a chord inside you. Little sister. The term felt almost too distant now. A part of you realized, maybe for the first time, that you didn’t want to be just his little sister anymore. Maybe that wasn’t the role you wanted to play in his life.
You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, glancing down at the table. “I guess I’m still that little kid to you, huh?” you said, trying to keep your tone light.
Soobin’s lips twitched, a small smile pulling at the corners of his mouth. “Always will be,” he said, his voice playful but with an undertone of warmth.
But as you sat there across from him, something shifted inside of you. You weren’t sure exactly when it happened, but in that moment—sitting at his dining table, surrounded by the comfort of the past—you realized something that made your heart race a little faster. It wasn’t just the memories, the shared history, that made you feel so drawn to him. It wasn’t just because you’d always seen him as the older brother who took care of you.
No, there was something more. Something deeper.
The realization hit you like a wave, and you almost choked on your breath. You shifted uncomfortably in your seat, looking anywhere but at him. But you couldn’t shake the truth from your mind.
You looked up at him again, but this time, it wasn’t the same. You couldn’t look at him and think of him as just Soobin, your older brother. There was an undeniable pull between you that made your heart ache with confusion, longing, and something else you couldn’t quite name.
“I don’t get it.” You felt something stirring in your chest, that uncomfortable mix of desire and confusion. “You call me your little sister…”
“Soobin looked up, brow furrowed. “Hm?”
“You call me your little sister. But we’ve kissed.” you continued, your voice tinged with frustration. You let out a bitter laugh, trying to hide how vulnerable you felt. “How is that… how does that work?”
You swallowed hard, trying to keep your emotions in check. The questions were swirling in your mind, and you couldn't stop them from spilling out. "I just—" You stopped yourself, realizing how tangled your feelings had become. You didn’t want to push him away, but you also didn’t want to continue pretending that there was nothing more than what you thought you had.
Soobin watched you closely, his expression softening. “Isn’t that what you want to be?” His voice was quieter now, more sincere.
You blinked, confused. “What?”
"Isn’t that what you want to be?” Soobin repeated, his gaze searching yours. “That’s what you called me…when Beomgyu was there.”
You stayed quiet, knowing what he had said was true.
Soobin’s expression shifted, his eyes searching yours. For a moment, the room was silent, the weight of your words hanging between you both.
“So, what are we then?” His voice was barely a whisper, as if he feared saying the wrong thing.
You swirled your spoon around the oatmeal Soobin had made for you, the warm steam rising as you avoided looking directly at him. You were just as afraid of saying something wrong—afraid you might ruin everything. The delicate balance of the relationship you two had built, the connection you shared.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity of silence, you spoke, your voice barely above a whisper. “I like you. More than I should. You’re not my brother. And I don’t want you to be.”
—
The door slammed open, and there stood Soobin, eyes wild with something you couldn’t quite place. Your heart skipped a beat, and you quickly pulled away from Kai, one of your neighbours friends, the tension in the room thickening in an instant.
Soobin glared at Kai, and it was like a switch flipped inside of him. “What do you think you’re doing?” he spat, his voice low and filled with an emotion that stung.
Kai, clearly startled by Soobin's intense reaction, scrambled to get up. “I—I wasn’t doing anything. I swear, we were just—uh, talking—”
“Talking?” Soobin sneered, his eyes darkening with jealousy. “You think I’m stupid?”
You stared, frozen, watching as Kai stumbled over his words, trying to explain himself. But Soobin didn’t let him.
“I don’t want you here. Leave.” His voice was firm, and even though it was directed at Kai, the words cut deeper than they should.
Kai, terrified now, stood up quickly, nodding vigorously. “Okay, okay! I’m sorry!” He turned and practically bolted out of the room, leaving you alone with Soobin, your blood boiling.
You stared at Soobin, unable to find the words for a moment, but then you exploded. “What the hell, Soobin? Are you really that possessive of me?”
“I’m not being possessive! I’m just trying to protect you,” Soobin snapped back, but you could see the way his fists were clenched, the frustration bubbling beneath the surface.
You crossed your arms over your chest. “Protect me? From what? Him? I can protect myself, Soobin!”
Soobin took a deep breath, clearly struggling with his emotions. “You don’t get it,” he muttered, his voice softer now. “Guys... guys always have screwed-up intentions.”
Your eyes widened with frustration. “Aren’t you a guy?” you spat, your anger rising with each word.
Soobin froze. His expression faltered, and he was silent for a moment, looking at you like he was trying to process what you had just said. His face hardened.
“I’m your brother,” he finally said, his voice gruff.
“No, you’re not, Soobin,” you snapped. “We don’t even have the same parents. I’m only here because I was left alone.”
Soobin looked like you slapped him. His fists clenched tighter, and his jaw tightened. “Alone? What am I then? A doll?”
The words hit harder than you expected, and it stung more than you wanted to admit. You glared at him, your heart pounding in your chest. “You’re being annoying, and you can’t stand to see me happy, can you?”
Soobin’s face turned red, and he took a step closer, towering over you. His voice cracked with frustration. “Can’t stand to see you happy? Every. Single. Day, I spend my life trying to make you happy. Can’t you see that?”
You knew he was right. You knew he was always trying to make you happy, but you couldn’t let him win. Not now. Not like this.
“Whatever,” you muttered, turning to leave his room. But before you could even step away, Soobin spun you around, his hand gripping your wrist, pulling you toward him. Your breath caught in your throat as his hand pressed against the wall beside you, his body dangerously close.
“Tell me to stop, and I will,” he said, his voice harsh, but there was something more behind it. It was almost like he was giving you one last chance to run.
You opened your mouth to protest, to push him away, but your words died on your tongue. The air was thick between you, and before you could even register what was happening, his lips crashed against yours.
The kiss was rough, heated with months of tension, with everything unspoken between you. It was a kiss that demanded something—something you didn’t know how to respond to. His hand slid to the back of your neck, pulling you closer, his grip on you firm, like he was afraid you would disappear if he let go.
Your heart raced, your body frozen between wanting to push him away and pull him closer. Your mind screamed at you to stop, to break free, but you were too lost in the feeling of his lips on yours.
Soobin pulled back, his forehead resting against yours, both of you gasping for air. He didn’t say anything at first. Neither of you did. It was like you were both waiting for the storm to pass.
And maybe it would, or maybe it wouldn’t. But you knew one thing for sure now: everything had changed.
—-
Four years had passed since that day, since Soobin had left for flight school. You’d buried the memory deep, locked it away like a secret too dangerous to acknowledge. After all, how could you look him in the eye again after that moment? The kiss. The way his lips had felt against yours, as if the whole world had shifted in that one breathless instant.
Kai had been a distraction, maybe. Or perhaps he had been a way for you to cope with Soobin’s impending absence, a rebellion against something you didn’t know how to deal with. After all, Soobin had been your anchor, your family, your “older brother” — until he wasn’t. Until he’d crossed that line, and left you hanging in a way you didn’t know how to understand.
You never brought it up to him. You couldn’t. How could you, when the next morning, Soobin acted like nothing had happened? He was back to being your “older brother,” carrying on like it was just another regular day. As if he hadn’t just kissed you like that, like it was nothing. And so, you pretended too. You pretended it was normal. You pretended like you hadn’t spent days afterward replaying that moment in your head, each time wondering what it meant, what it had been.
—-
The silence between the two of you was deafening. After breakfast, Soobin hadn’t uttered a single word. He was lost in his own thoughts, and it felt like the air between you had thickened, each unspoken word hanging in the space between you both.
You quickly excused yourself, heading to the shower in an attempt to clear your mind. The hot water didn’t wash away the discomfort, though. It only seemed to magnify the embarrassing tension that still lingered. You couldn’t even look at him without feeling the weight of your confession bearing down on you. You had told him everything — that you liked him, more than you should — and now he was just… silent.
When you finished, you grabbed your things, stuffing them into your bag a little more aggressively than you intended. You were angry, frustrated, and honestly just tired of the awkwardness.
Soobin hadn’t spoken to you since you’d laid it all out there. Not even a simple acknowledgment of what you’d said, what you’d put yourself through. It was as if it had never happened. And it made you want to scream.
“Asshole,” you muttered to yourself as you slung your bag over your shoulder.
You couldn’t stay here. Not with him acting like a mute pilot. You didn’t need his silence, didn’t need the awkward tension that came with it. It was too much. You couldn’t handle it.
Just as you were about to leave, you heard the faintest rustle of movement behind you. You spun around, ready to give him a piece of your mind, but he was still there, standing by the couch, looking like he was trying to find something to say. But of course, nothing came out.
“Really, Soobin?” you snapped, your voice cracking slightly. "You’re not going to say anything? Not even after everything?"
Your hand reached for the doorknob, shame settling in your chest, when, just as you were about to leave, Soobin suddenly stood up, rushing toward you. In a flash, he locked you between the wall and his arms, trapping you.
“How could I possibly put into words how much I’ve loved you and yearned for you?” His voice was strained, raw, like every word was fighting to break free.
You froze, your breath caught in your throat. This was the moment you’d been waiting for, yet it felt as though time had stopped. The tension between you both was thick, suffocating almost, but there was something undeniable in the way he looked at you — something that made your heart race despite the anger and confusion swirling inside you.
“What?” you whispered, your voice trembling with the mix of emotions you couldn’t quite sort through.
“I’ve been trying to figure out how to say it for so long,” he murmured, his eyes never leaving yours, “but I don’t know how to make it make sense. I don’t know how to explain how much I’ve wanted you — wanted this — without completely screwing it all up.”
Your heart thudded in your chest. You could feel the warmth of his body close to yours, his breath hot against your skin. You wanted to pull away, to push him out of your personal space, but something held you there. Something inside of you, a pull that you couldn’t deny.
“Then why... why didn’t you say anything before?” You could feel the frustration rising in you, mixing with the vulnerability of his confession.
“I was scared,” he admitted, his voice low. “Scared that it would ruin everything — everything we have. I never wanted to make things weird, especially not with you. But I can’t keep pretending that I don’t feel this way.”
You swallowed hard, your eyes desperately searching his, trying to make sense of the storm of emotions swirling inside you. Was this real? You wanted to understand, to make it all make sense, but you were lost in the intensity of the moment.
“You’re my brother, Soobin,” you said, your voice trembling with the weight of what you were trying to deny. “You can’t just—”
But he interrupted you, his voice steady yet filled with raw emotion. “But I’m not. We’re not siblings. You came into my life like a whirlwind, and now... now you’ve completely changed everything. I think about you every night, every night. How the hell am I supposed to put all this... all these emotions, these feelings, into words when nothing... nothing in the dictionary can explain how much I feel for you?”
His face was inches from yours, his breath warm against your skin. You could feel the heat radiating from him, his presence consuming you. It was as though the air between you both had thickened, each word hanging in the space like a confession, unspoken yet loud in its silence.
“Soobin...” You whispered, your heart hammering in your chest, trying to find something to say, something to stop this, but you were rendered speechless by the intensity in his eyes.
“You—” His voice dropped, thick with emotion, his breath shallow. “You, who flipped my world upside down. You, who I can’t ever stop thinking about, even when I try.” He closed the gap between you, his lips so close you could almost feel them on your skin. “You, who took my first kiss.”
Your pulse quickened, and your chest tightened. Every fiber of your being screamed at you to step away, but you couldn’t. His words were pulling you in, drawing you closer despite the storm inside you. The tension between you was almost unbearable, the words unsaid, but felt deeply in the space that separated you both.
“Soobin,” you gasped, your voice cracking. “This... this isn’t... we can’t.”
But his eyes locked onto yours, unrelenting. “We can. If you’d just let me show you.” His voice was barely a whisper, but it held so much weight, so much desire. He moved just enough to make your breath catch, his body a breath away from yours. The space between you was nonexistent now.
You could feel the heat radiating between the two of you, the space narrowing as Soobin's breath mixed with yours. His hands, firm yet gentle, found their way to your wrists, pulling your arms above your head and locking them there. His eyes were searching yours, his lips barely a breath away.
Without a word, his lips pressed against yours, tentative at first, as if testing the waters. But then, as if something within him snapped, the kiss deepened. It was slow, deliberate, and all-encompassing. His hand moved to the back of your head, pulling you closer, while your fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt.
You felt the world tilt, as though everything in your life had led to this exact moment. The warmth of his lips, the pressure of his body against yours, made you forget everything else.
Soobin pulled away, his forehead resting against yours, both of you gasping for breath. “I don’t want to stop,” he whispered, voice low and hoarse.
You couldn’t even respond. Your heart was racing, your thoughts a blur. The emotions flooding your chest were overwhelming, but one thing was certain—there was no turning back now.
He slowly guided you toward the bedroom, still holding you close.
—
It had been hours since the two of you went to bed. You slowly woke up, peeking under the blanket and realizing what had transpired between you two. "Oh," you murmured, quickly looking away. Your eyes landed on Soobin, who was lying beside you in nothing but the sheets, his back turned.
You glanced at the clock beside you. It had been two hours since your class started, and you were in a completely different city now. One day of missed classes wouldn’t be the end of the world, but your grades? You weren’t sure.
In a panic, your hand reached for your phone to text Beomgyu and ask him to take notes for you. But before you could, you felt Soobin’s eyes on you.
"Texting another guy when we’ve just done it is crazy," he said, his voice deep with a touch of teasing.
You stiffened, quickly responding, "I’m making sure I don’t fail."
Soobin chuckled, his lips lightly pressing against your bare shoulder, sending a shiver down your spine. "You can’t text a Cassandra or a Layla or something? Why does it have to be Beomgyu?"
"Because he’s my friend," you muttered, flustered.
A playful, almost possessive glint flashed in Soobin's eyes. "Right…a friend…" he said, his voice low and teasing as his arms pulled you closer.
Rolling your eyes, you sighed. "Okay, okay. I get it. You’re jealous." You leaned in to kiss his cheek, a gesture of reassurance.
But then, as if to make it right, you softly placed your hand on his chest. "You know, you should really go to class. You need to keep your grades up too, Mr. Pilot."
Soobin pouted slightly, his eyebrows furrowing in frustration. "I don’t want to go to class without you," he grumbled.
You smiled, running a hand through his messy hair. "Well, I can’t exactly go now can I?" you teased, pushing him toward the edge of the bed.
"Fine," Soobin said with a heavy sigh, pretending to be put out but the smile on his lips was unmistakable. "But only because you told me to."
"Good," you said, kissing his cheek once more. "Now go, and maybe I’ll make it up to you later."
As he reluctantly stood up, his expression softened. "You owe me, but I’m gonna let you off the hook for now. Go crush your class, alright?"
You grinned, still a little flushed from everything, but feeling lighter now. "I will," you said confidently. "Now go. You’re going to be late."
—-
A few hours later, you had texted Soobin, explaining that you really needed to get back to the city. You had an exam the next week, and your days had been nothing short of a whirlwind with him.
You could almost hear the disappointment in his response when he begged you to stay at least until he got back from his flying test. “Just a little longer, please?” The text read, filled with sincerity and a subtle plea that tugged at your heart.
You sighed, knowing you'd just barely make it in time, but… after everything that had happened, after last night, you found yourself missing him more than usual. The way his presence had wrapped around you in a way that felt so familiar, so right. You weren’t sure if you were even ready to leave just yet.
Tapping your phone screen, you typed back, “Okay, but only because you’re being so insistent. I’ll stay until you’re back.”
His reply was quick, almost instantly: “You won’t regret it. I promise.”
You smiled at the screen, feeling your chest warm at the thought of him. You hadn't expected everything to feel so natural, so different, so good with him, and yet here you were, tangled in the very emotions that made you hesitate to leave.
—
As you waited for Soobin to come home, you decided to cook him his favorite dinner. You weren’t exactly a master chef, but you were determined to try your best. You chopped vegetables, stirred sauces, and even got a little flour on your cheek from the bread you had attempted to bake. It was a mess, but you figured it would be worth it when Soobin walked through the door. You smiled at the thought of his face lighting up at the effort you put in.
The clock ticked away, and you nervously adjusted the plates on the dining table, glancing at the meal you had prepared. It wasn’t perfect—far from it—but you hoped it would be enough. You had tried. That had to count for something, right?
You heard the front door open and the sound of footsteps approaching. Then the familiar sound of Soobin’s voice calling out your name.
“I’m home!”
You quickly wiped your hands on your apron and rushed to greet him, just as he walked into the living room, still in his uniform.
As soon as Soobin walked through the door in his little pilot uniform, you couldn’t help yourself. He looked so good in it—too good. The crispness of the outfit, the way it clung just enough to show off his figure, the way his hair was perfectly messy as if he had just stepped out of a daydream. You immediately found yourself glued to his side, your body instinctively leaning against him as he entered.
Your hand rested on his arm, almost possessively, as if you needed to keep him close. You hadn’t realized how clingy you were being until Soobin, looking slightly confused, glanced at you with raised brows. “Hey, what’s with you today? You’re unusually handsy,” he teased.
You paused, your hand still resting on his arm, your fingers lightly tracing the fabric of his uniform. It wasn’t just that you missed him or that you were excited to have him home—it was something about the uniform itself. You suddenly realized that maybe it wasn’t just the comfort of his presence that was making you cling to him so tightly. You could feel your chest tighten as you looked at him.
“I don’t know,” you muttered, but then it clicked. His uniform. That was it. You shifted uncomfortably as the realization dawned on you.
Soobin’s eyes widened as he caught on. “Wait a second... you’re being extra clingy because of the uniform?”
You couldn’t hide your embarrassment, and your cheeks flushed a deep red. You averted your gaze, fiddling with the edge of your sleeve. “Maybe…”
He chuckled softly, his hand gently brushing your hair away from your face, though his expression still held a hint of confusion. “You’re so weird sometimes.”
But then it hit him—that moment when he pieced it all together. He wasn’t just an adorable sight in the uniform; it was the fact that you felt possessive of him, protective, maybe even a little jealous.
“Wait, is this why you hate it when I wear this to pick you up from school?” He continued, stepping a little closer to you, his hands gently resting on your shoulders. “It’s because you don’t like the idea of other girls looking at me.”
You bit your lip, suddenly feeling exposed. You didn’t want to admit it, but there was no denying it. “Maybe,” you whispered, your voice barely audible.
Soobin’s gaze softened, a gentle smile playing on his lips as he leaned down to kiss the top of your head. “You don’t need to worry about that. I’m not going anywhere.”
You looked up at him, the conflict in your heart still there, but it eased just a little at the tenderness in his eyes. He really didn’t get it, did he? The fact that you couldn’t bear the thought of sharing him. It wasn’t about other girls; it was about how much you needed him for yourself.
“I know. But still,” you muttered, not quite ready to let go of your insecurities just yet.
He chuckled, wrapping an arm around you and pulling you into his side, his warm embrace comforting you more than you expected. “If it makes you feel better, I’ll stop wearing it outside the house,” he teased, but there was no teasing in his voice—just pure affection.
You snuggled closer, burying your face in his chest. “Don’t be ridiculous. You can wear it whenever you want… just… maybe not when you’re picking me up from school.”
Soobin laughed softly, “That’s how I feel every time you walk out of the house.”
“Really?” You rolled your eyes.
“Walking out like that, looking naturally cute, is a heart attack waiting to happen,” Soobin said, his voice almost too serious.
You laughed, “Don’t be ridiculous.”
“I’m not! You don’t see the stares you get outside?” Soobin sighed.
“No, I don’t, because when we’re out together, I only see you,” you teased.
“All these sugary words, you do know we’re still not dating, right?” Soobin said, raising an eyebrow.
You crossed your arms. “Doesn’t this morning count? I lost my—”
“I still haven’t asked you out, though,” Soobin interrupted, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
“Okay, go ahead, ask me.”
“Like this? With me in my work uniform and you in a dirty apron?”
“There’s no better timing. Besides, I’d say yes to anything if you ask me in your uniform.”
“Oh, so that’s how I’ll get you to agree with me now?” Soobin grinned.
“Not everything. I still have a conscience and morality.”
“You do now?”
“Mhm,” you nodded playfully.
“Okay then,” he said, pulling you closer. “Wanna be my girlfriend?”
“That’s so lame.”
Soobin chuckled, his hands resting on your waist as he pulled you even closer. “What’s so lame about it?”
“You’ve got this serious, pilot face, and then you hit me with ‘Wanna be my girlfriend?’” You rolled your eyes, but there was a smile tugging at your lips. “You could’ve at least tried to make it more dramatic or something.”
He raised an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Oh, I see how it is. You want the grand, swoon-worthy proposal, huh?”
“Something like that,” you teased, leaning into him.
Soobin smiled, his grip tightening around you as he leaned in close. “Well, if you want drama…” He paused, eyes locking with yours, the air between you thick with tension. “How about this?”
Before you could react, Soobin leaned in and kissed you softly, but with a touch of urgency that left you breathless. When he pulled back, he looked into your eyes, a playful smile on his lips. “Now, will you be my girlfriend?”
You were stunned for a moment, your heartbeat racing. “Okay, fine. Yes,” you said with a laugh, feeling your cheeks flush. “But don’t get used to the cheesy lines.”
“I’ll take it,” he said with a grin, his voice full of satisfaction. “Guess that means we’re officially together now.”
“Yeah,” you replied, smiling back. “Guess we are.”

“Does he have to come over? I really don’t want to deal with him. I thought tonight was supposed to be a girl’s night.”
“We were, but he just got back into town, and I haven’t seen him for weeks.”
You huff out in annoyance. Not at her but at the situation. Her boyfriend is a sweet guy and treats her like she’s the only woman in the world. It’s his best friend that gets on your nerves. If you were her, you’d totally ditch girl’s night to hang with your boyfriend… if you had one.
“Yeah, I guess. Does Bucky have to come?”
“He’s his best friend. It’s like me without you.”
It should be illegal just how much Bucky gets under your skin. It’s like he knows and is doing it on purpose. He’s the definition of a playboy and it pisses you off. There isn’t a time that goes by that he doesn’t have a woman on his arm, on his lap, or in his bed. When he’s not fucking random girls, he’s always getting into fights that he usually starts. He does illegal shit on his bike all the time. You don’t know how many times you heard Steve say he had to bail Bucky out of jail.
He’s a menace and he’s fucking attractive. It pisses you off.
“Can you two just get along, please? I love you and I love him. I don’t want to lose either of you.”
“Fine,” you grumble.
Steve and Bucky show up an hour later, and it’s not surprising that Bucky brought a woman with him.
“Steve! You’re back!”
Jessica jumps into his arms and kisses him, and you look away from them knowing Bucky is looking for you. You slip into the kitchen unseen and grab a quick snack that you’ll probably eat in your room. What’s irritating is that you can feel Bucky before you can see him. You turn and see him just a few feet away from you wearing a cocky smirk.
“I was looking for you.”
“How unfortunate for me.”
“Awh, come on, Doll, don’t be like that. I’ve missed you.”
“And I’ve missed the peace and quiet you’ve disrupted.”
You grab your snack and try to move away from him but he won’t let you escape that easily.
“Where are you going? Don’t you want to hang out with us?”
“I’d rather stick needles in my eyes than hang out with you. Plus, I don’t want to get an STD from your whore on that couch.”
Bucky laughs and steps aside so you can leave the kitchen, but he only leaves barely enough room for you to squeeze by. You hate how much you like feeling his body as you pass by. Stop! He’s an asshole and a playboy! Bad Y/N! Steve and Jessica are already all over each other while Bucky’s date is scrolling through her phone, clearly bored.
“Hey, where are you going?” Jessica asks, giggling when Steve kisses her neck.
“My room. Have fun.”
You’d hope that the barrier between you and the rest of the party would be enough to block out the sounds, but Bucky is making it his mission to get you to hear him and his date. Whether that be her moaning or laughing. It makes you sick. You sit at your computer and browse social media when you get a message from someone on Instagram.
Brady: Hey! I’m having a party downtown and would love it if you came! It’s open bar. Tell your friends!
Brady provides an address that is halfway across town. You don’t know who this is but it’s an opportunity to get the hell out of here. You’re scared that the party in the living room will turn into an orgy if they all consent to it. It’s likely you won’t know anyone at the party either, but it’s a good way to meet someone. Jessica is right, you need to get laid.
You change into a moderately revealing outfit but it covers enough to keep some mystery. It’s a short, one-strap red dress that stops at your knees, and you pair that with black pumps. You don’t do much in terms of makeup and hair so you keep it breezy and light knowing it’s going to get hot and sweaty at the party.
You grab your purse before making your way to the front door. You look back and see Jessica and Steve lost in each other, and Bucky’s girl is sitting by herself on the couch.
“Where’s Bucky?”
“Bathroom. Where are you going.”
“Out. Don’t wait up.”
You leave the apartment and take a twenty-minute bus drive over to the party. You’re nervous to be going alone to a party where you don’t know anyone but you need to step out of your comfort zone. It’s getting lonely coming home to an empty bed while Jessica has hers full. The second you step into the party, you’re hit with a stench of weed and alcohol.
“Hey, you here alone?” a man asks.
A man who has got to be at least six foot four approaches you with a smile. First impression? He’s cocky but he tries to hide it through a shy smile. His attitude and confidence stem from his height. He must think he can get any girl he wants. It doesn’t hurt that he’s easy on the eyes. Still, you’re not an idiot and you won’t be oblivious just because he’s cute.
“No, my friend is parking the car.”
“Can I get you two a drink, then?”
“Only if I can come with you.”
“I’m Brady.” Oh, so he’s the one who invited you. You’re pretty sure he was mass-sending that message out to anyone in the area. “The bar is in the back.”
You follow Brady to the bar and watch the bartender pour your drink. You take it from her with a smile and turn to Brady who already has his eyes on other girls.
“So, is this your house?”
“Yeah, my roommates are out of town and told me to have fun.”
“Wow, I didn’t think fun meant throwing a party where half the state is invited.”
“I know, right?” He laughs. “Do you live around here? I would have noticed someone as beautiful as you around.”
You blush at the compliment but don’t comment on it. “I live across town. I normally don’t travel around here.”
“I think I have to change that.” He’s not doing anything wrong but you can’t help but compare him to Bucky. For some odd reason, you’re wishing that he was here with you instead. A woman walks up to the bar to get another drink, and Brady turns to her. “Hey, where did you go? I missed you.”
You should have seen this coming. All men like him and Bucky are the same. Always pushing someone away when someone better comes along. You look nothing like the beautiful woman Brady’s flirting with but that doesn’t mean he can just toss you to the side and pretend like you don’t exist.
“Bye, Brady.”
He doesn't even spare you a glance. You leave the bar and scout out someone new to talk to. However, the more you study everyone here, the more you feel out of place. You love a good party but this is just too much. People are on the couch smoking weed and making out, there is a mosh pit happening in the middle of the living room where everyone is grinding on each other, people are out by the pool drinking and smoking, and what you assume is more upstairs fucking.
It was a bad idea not to tell your roommate you were coming here.
You throw your drink away and push your way to the front door. You take in a lungful of fresh air and walk to the park right across the street. There are a few people that have taken the party to the park but it’s nothing like what’s happening inside. You took one of the last buses here so you know there aren’t going to be any that run this late at night, so you can either find a ride home or walk home.
You take out your phone and message Jessica hoping that she and Steve are done doing whatever they are doing.
You: Can you come pick me up? I went to a party and I don’t like it here. I don’t want to walk home this late at night.
Jessica: I’m on my way.
You’d take an Uber but you don’t have any money. Jessica usually lets you borrow her car, but you didn’t want to leave her without it. You wrap your arms around yourself since it’s a bit chilly. You didn’t think to bring a jacket because you thought the heat of the party would warm you. Ten minutes later, you hear a bike engine rev as it gets closer to you.
You don’t have to see who the driver is to know who it is. You’d know that bike anywhere. Bucky pulls up next to you and takes off his helmet.
“I didn’t call for you. Go away.”
“Whoa, calm down, Doll. I’m your Prince Charming. I heard you needed a ride.” He pats the seat behind him. “Your chariot awaits, princess.”
“You got me all fucked up if you think I’m getting on that death trap. Where is Jessica?”
Bucky smirks. “She’s kind of busy at the moment with Steve if you know what I mean.” You roll your eyes. “I offer my services.”
“No thanks. I’ll walk.”
You go to walk past him but he grabs your arm gently to stop you.
“I’m only going to say this once. Get on the bike, Doll.”
You try to yank your arm away but Bucky’s grip is firm yet gentle.
“Fine.”
Bucky lets go of your arm and hands you a spare helmet. He puts his helmet on while you put yours on, and you use him for support while getting on the bike. He grabs your arm and pulls you closer but you refuse to be flush against him. You jerk back and sit as far away as you can from him. Bucky only chuckles and faces forward on the bike. He revs the engine and jerks forward causing you to slam into his back. Your arms go around his waist to keep yourself from falling off, and he grabs both your hands with one of his.
“Asshole,” you mutter to yourself.
“I heard that.”
Bucky’s voice comes through the small speaker inside the helmet that allows you two to talk to each other.
“Just drive.”
You and Bucky ride all the way home in silence. There is no way you’re going to talk to him. What would you even say? Would you pick a fight? Would you say thank you? The second Bucky parks the bike, you’re hopping off it. You take the helmet off and practically throw it at him before running toward the house. Bucky is hot on your heels so you don’t have much time to escape.
You grab the doorknob to open it but Bucky grabs your waist and flips you so you’re facing him.
“What do you want from me, Bucky?”
“Am I not going to get a thank you?”
“Thank you, Prince Charming. That was so nice of you to drive me home because they asked you to,” you say sarcastically.
He chuckles in a low tone. “They didn’t ask me to.”
“Yeah, because you came on your own free will,” you roll your eyes.
“What have I done to make you hate me so much?”
“Please,” you scoff.
“No, seriously. I want to know. Have I done something to piss you off?”
“You know exactly what you did.”
“No, use your words. What did I do to piss you off?”
Bucky refuses to let you go so either you two stand here for the rest of the night or you confess.
“Because you’re a bad person! You get into fights that land you in jail. You do illegal shit that also lands you in jail. You take home any girl who gives you five seconds of their attention. Do you know how many times, Steve, Jessica, and I have bailed you out of jail? You’re not good.”
“Oh, okay.” Bucky reaches up and grasps your chin between his thumb and pointer finger. He leans in so close that you think he is going to kiss you. He might have a metal arm but you don’t think he has super hearing. Otherwise, he’d hear how hard your heart is beating. It isn’t real, Y/N. He doesn’t feel things for you. He bypasses your lips and goes straight to your ear. “I think you want me to be the bad guy because I think you know I’d be too good to you.”
He casually nips the outside of your ear before pulling away.
“What are you doing?” you ask, breathlessly.
“Good night, Doll.”
He winks at you and walks back to his bike. He doesn’t spare you another glance as he drives away, and you fall against the door, completely flustered. You’re fucked.

Haunted House

Ghost yan x ghost reader
TW: suicide mention
——————
It was with curiosity you stared out the window. A car had pulled up in the drive way. Through the car windows you sa two adults and three children in the backseat. Well, it was definitely not a maintenance company then. It always bothered you so when they came and meddled with your house; though it technically didn’t belong to you anymore you still considered the building as you home, and prison.
You watched as the kids ran out of the vehicle to inspect the house. You had to admit, they were rather cute. Before you hadn’t really thought about having kids and weren’t sure if you ever would, but now you found yourself wondering if you would have made a good mother. One always ponder about the choices out of one’s reach.
They seemed happy, the family of five. Perhaps you would be fine with them around.
“What are you thinking about, dear?” A voice interrupted your dazed thoughtfulness as your mood instantly soured.
“Nothing so you can leave.”
The man behind you sighed. “Do you always have to act like this whenever I’m around?”
You couldn’t bring yourself to look back at him, fearing that the sight of him would send you into a frenzy. “I do when you’re the one who ruined my life.”
“Ruined your life? We were happy together, in fact, I remember you telling me ‘I promise to love you even in death’ but I guess that doesn’t apply, not with the way you treat me.”
You nearly gasped at his audacity. The nerve some people had!
“What? Are you actually serious right now- you can’t be? The way I treat you? You want to talk about the way I treat you? You killed me!” You shouted.
You had turned around now. Your eyes took in the handsome man you had once called the love of your life. Despite the hatred for true actions and pain he caused you, a small part of you still felt something when you looked at him. Maybe it was affection? Maybe it was the anguished feelings of a happy life that could have been? You weren’t sure.
He stilled for a moment before speaking again. “I know, and I am sorry it had to go that way-“
“Had to? You weren’t forced to do anything. At least take responsibility for your actions!”
“I wouldn’t have had to do it if you had just stopped flirting with those other men.” It seemed like it was his turn to become angry. “Don’t think I didn’t see how you looked at them, how your eyes lit up when you saw someone you very clearly fancied.”
“Oh my- we’ve been over this a hundred times, they were just coworkers nothing more. Besides, they have wives and kids of their own!”
It didn’t matter how much you insisted, your (ex)husband did not relent in his accusations.
“That doesn’t mean they’ll be loyal. You have no idea what a treasure you are, many would do anything to get to have you.” The man twirled a strand of your hair around his finger, entranced by your beauty.
“Oh, like you, you mean?” You fired back.
“Stop that.” He said. “I don’t want to fight with you, we’ve already done enough of that. I did what I had to do and nothing will ever change that. Now we’ll be together for ever, even in death, just like we promised each other at the altar. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I hope that one day you will understand how deep my feelings for you go and see things from my perspective. I love you, I really do.” He turned to leave you to your lonesome. Before he left, he told you one final thing, “No one else will adore you as much as I, especially now considering no man will ever see you besides me. You’re nothing more than a ghost after all.”
The tear threatening to escape earlier finally welled up. You cried and wiped your eyes with you cold, dead hand.
——————
Just as you had imagined, the family did bring you a new sense of happiness. Whilst not exactly ideal, watching over(spyin on) the parents and the children made your days more fulfilled. They brought laughter and fun back into your undead life.
Unfortunately you weren’t able to look out for them unless they stayed in the house. It was a real pain in the ass, not being able to leave the building. If you could, you would have left decades ago- much to your (ex)husband/ dismay. You suspected he was relieved to find that you were both confined to your place of death. It meant you couldn’t leave him, which was his goal the entire time. He got what he wanted in the end.
After stabbing you out of jealousy, you died in his arms, crying and demanding answers to why he would hurt you. When you (surprisingly) woke up again, you were in the same position you had been when your life drained out of you. Your man was clutching you tight to his chest and he was stroking you hair. At first you had believed it was all a dream, then you thought you survived the whole thing. He was still petting your hair and rambling on how he loved you and how he would rather die than be separated from you. You hadn’t expected him to be so literal.
You were shocked when you had pulled away from him, only to discover a second version of him lying unmovingly on the floor next to you. Then you noticed the pool of blood spilling out from his neck, and the knife he stabbed you with in his hand. With disbelief you glanced back at the ‘living’ version of him. He smiled somewhat solemnly at you as you took in his too-pale skin and the large scar he had on his throat.
You tried not to think about it too much. No matter what he did, you would never forgive him for taking your life away from you because of his irrational fear of you cheating on him. Well, it was impossible for you to leave or cheat on him now. You were the only ghosts in the house and didn’t have the ability to take even a small step outside the front door.
Instead of spending your days avoiding him as usual, you now followed the family around the house. Mostly the children of course. They had the habit of getting into trouble whenever their parents weren’t around. You had forgotten how many times you had saved them from tripping or bumping their heads. You were lucky you could touch things in the real world for a short second. You couldn’t before so you assumed it was because you were a young and weak ghost back then.
The whole babysitting act also appeared to bother your husband, which you relished in. You remembered one day when he approached you after the family had left for the grocery store.
“Don’t you think you’re spending an awful lot of time with those children?”
“I like them so I don’t mind.” You answered and continued staring at the drawings they made that afternoon, right before begging called to get dressed and meet by the car.
“Well, I don’t think it’s right for you to do the parents job.” He sneered.
Rolling your eyes, you said, “Like I said, I don’t mind.” Your wanted to leave it at that but your (ex)husband had other plans.
“Sweetie, I will be honest; I believe your getting too attached to this family, it’s not good.”
You sent a glare in his direction. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“What I mean is I think you should let them be. They’ll eventually move on whilst you’ll be stuck here. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
You scoffed at the audacity he had again. “A little late for that, don’t you think? This is the only source of happiness I have, don’t take anything more from me, please.”
“I don’t make you happy, then?” He asked, though his tone suggested he already knew the answer.
You could look him in the eye, choosing silence. He grumbled something incoherent. After another long minute of silence, he sighed. He did that a lot these days, you thought.
“Alright, my love. Continue to look after these living people if it brings you joy, but remember, it won’t last forever. I will be here when you’re done.”
Once more he left you alone to look out the window. Despite your will to disagree, you knew he was right. These people- this family- they were all still alive. You were not. Your time was over, your life stolen from you. It was only a question of when they’d leave. Until then, you’d be their guardian in this haunted house.

Bats and Axes
Pairing; Ticci toby x proxy!femreader
Summary; a couple months after becoming a proxy, a strange boy sparks your interest.
Warnings; slightly graphic violence, psychopathic reader, not much for first chap tbh.
Wc; 1k+
Credits; axe & bone header - menschenopfer, blood dividers - bucciniexe, caution tape - cafekitsune.
a/n; this will most likely be a multiple part series if you guys r interested in reading it :3 (lowercase intended, idgaf about grammer if i'm writing for fun)
"kill them" the voice pounded in your head, sending shivers down your body and tingling in all your limbs. causing you to grip you head and shake violently at the slightest thought of disobeying.
you could feel his presence engulf and fog your brain, making you nothing but a zombie, a puppet to him. your legs move before you can process. the tingling not ceasing, you can hardly feel your body or collect your thoughts. just a fog as you try to get a hold of yourself or form a coherent thought other then killing.
unsurprisingly your legs take you bolting towards the couple walking a little too closely for comfort near slenderman's mansion, swinging your bat ruthlessly into the woman's face. screams erupting from the both of them, in one of the most pure animalistic sounds humans can create, the sound of pure terror, you cant help but let a smile creep onto your face. this was your favorite part of your job.
you limp your way back to the mansion, now covered in blood and completely exhausted, atleast taking the time to dip your metal bat into the nearby stream.
finally arriving back in your bedroom and stripping off your ruined clothing that reek of death and changing into fresh ones, you crash into your bed. shaking slightly from all the adrenaline still pumping through your body.
you shoot up still on edge as u hear a knock on your door, "cmon y/n you left you leftovers outside, when will you learn to clean up after yourself?" sighing with annoyance you open your door, meeting eyes with ben. he was always fucking bothering you about something, yet he was still one of your best friends, you cant be too picky around here and you guys shared some interests. "wasn't me ben sorry." you say sighing and returning to the comfort of your bed, your body still aching.
"which other proxy kills people by completely bashing their faces in?" u turn around to face him with a defeated expressed, "okay fine it was me, can't i just leave it for EJ?" he just looks at you with that insufferable expression he always does "okay fine i'll go, i'll go!"
wandering back outside the mansion you set your course for the couples mangled bodies, as you reach the area you see a boy you don't recognize. he stands above the bodies seemingly just inspecting them, you grip you bat a bit tighter as you inch closer. "thi-iss your handywork?" as he speaks he turns up to look at you, granting you a better look at his face, seemingly unaffected by your presence, he must be a proxy.
"uhm.. yeah, i was coming to get the bodies." this boy unnerved you, sickly grey skin and a metal cage mask around his mouth showing very little of his mouth, two hatchets hanging low on his hips. "you must be.." his breathy and hoarse voice interrupted by his neck jerking violently to the side. "be a n-new proxy then"
you weren't exactly new, although it was hard to tell. memories of your old life becoming cloudy and harder to recall each day that passed, it had atleast been a couple months though. "new enough not to have met you i guess.." he tilts his head at you stepping over the bodies until there was an uncomfortable lack of distance between you two, what the fuck was this guys problem?
he scans your face seemingly as you meet his brown eyes, pupils blown wide and crazy, before he glanced down to your metal baseball bat. "i'm toby, i'm sure w-we'll be seeing eachother ah-around" he stares blanky at your face waiting for your reaction as he towered over you. "y/n" is all u say as he gives you a slight nod and steps past you, heading in the direction of the mansion.
there was something about this guy.. he was kinda creepy but something about him made you replay the moment over and over again, thinking of his wild eyes staring down at you. you try to shake off the weird interaction and step forward to the bloodied bodies.
"oh yeah, i think toby's back now, he was off on an assignment for a couple months." ben spoke as he continued mashing his controller buttons. he insisted you come over and play mario kart with him after he finally got his hands on a copy. "yeah i met him earlier.. what's his deal? he kinda freaks me out."
"do you remember that huge fire in that happened a couple years ago in the suburbs? totally whipped out the entire neighborhood, killed most of the people inside the houses too."
"oh yeah.. some girl who was in my math class died, she was all my school was talking about for weeks, endless assemblies and memorials." you surprise yourself with the words coming out of your mouth, the memory fleeting and fuzzy.
"well that was toby, killed his dad and set his house on fire. one time i saw him without a shirt on, he's got a bunch or gnarly burn scars.." ben seemed a little sad as he spoke which was odd because he rarely had any type of sympathy for anyone.
"that's pretty brutal.." is really all you can muster, you don't know what else to say. every proxy has their hands dirty with blood after all.
"ben oh-open up-pp!" you jump a little as you hear someone pounding on the door. "dude chill out, i'm coming." ben rises from his nest of pillows and blankets in front of his shitty old tv and lazily walks to the door.
"hey man, it's been a while." you can barely see who's outside the door, but you already recognize his raspy stutter. "ca-nnn i use your comm-computer?" "uhm yeah i guess, for what?" "for uhh.." he trails off as he seemingly notices your presence, eyes going slightly wide with a flustered expression on his face as you lock eyes.
"uhm nevermind i-i don't need it." he says bringing his eyes back to ben's face before hurrying off in the other direction leaving ben at his open door.
ben closes his door and returns to sitting beside you, "what the fuck was that? he's being so weird, well i mean, weirder then usual." he speaks annoyed before unpausing his game.
a/n: hey guys!! sorry this was short and ended kinda abruptly, i've been having bad writers block completing this -__- but regardless i hope u enjoyed. i'm super excited to continue this story and i already have future chapters planned, (probably gonna be a slowburn sorry guys)

Kinktober Day 4 - Hatefucking - Eris x Reader
TW: sexual themes including degradation
A/N: this is so late in the day, i spent way too much time reading and not writing, oopsie
word count = 2.26k
NSFW under the cut
Kinktober Masterlist
As much as you hated the High Lord of the Autumn Court, you did have to admit - Beron Vanserra knew how to throw a party. While they may not be as relaxed as the parties you’re used to back in Dawn, Autumn parties sure did have a well-developed sense of finery.
As one of Thesan’s most trusted courtiers, your official goal was to preserve the tenuous trade routes between Dawn and Autumn and keep a low profile. But to be fair, attending a quick party wouldn’t hurt anyone - or so you thought.
You were leaning back against a tapestry hung on the wall of the marvelous ballroom, watching High Fae dressed in reds, oranges, and greens dance around you. You supposed you should’ve taken the opportunity to mingle with the Autumn nobility but you really couldn’t care less - the glass of fine Autumn whiskey helping you decompress and making you feel just floaty enough to be enjoyable.
After the week you had, you definitely deserved to relax. You normally excelled at court relations but there was something about the Autumn Court that got under your skin. Or well, really someone - the Heir Apparent, Eris fucking Vanserra.
You could never understand how someone so gorgeous could be so damn insufferable. You guessed that there had to be some balance in the universe. After all, it wouldn’t be fair for him to be easy to get along with and nice to look at. On top of how unbearable it was to listen to him all week, you had also managed to embarrass yourself multiple times by getting lost in just how beautiful he was. How unfortunate it was that he had to ruin your daydreams by running his mouth.
You were so distracted by your reminiscing that you didn’t even hear him approach you. “Having fun?”, Eris drawled in your ear. If you didn’t know better, you’d think he’d appeared out of thin air.
You sighed dramatically before glancing over at him, “I was until you decided to bother me.” You took a second to take him in - wearing his finest Autumn attire, his wavy shoulder-length hair impeccably styled, and his pointed ears adorned with gold hoops and cuffs.
Eris gave you a piercing glare before smirking, “Well aren’t you just peachy tonight? You’d think you’d be glad tha-”
The rage started boiling as his perfectly lilting voice skimmed your ears in just the right way. “Gods, do you ever stop talking?”
Flames sparked in his amber eyes as they narrowed on you. Before you had a chance to react, he gripped your arm and winnowed both of you away.
You blinked and the ballroom faded away to reveal a spacious but quaint bedroom - including a cherry wood four-poster bed, floor to ceiling bookshelves, and a magnificent window showcasing the beauty of the Autumn Court right outside the Forest House.
Unfortunately for you, you weren’t outside the Forest House, you were pressed up against a door by Eris Vanserra, in what was likely his bedroom.
The pressure of his hand on your shoulder, his thumb grazing your collarbone, quickly brought you out of your trance. You craned your neck to look up into his eyes, only seeing thinly veiled rage reflected back at you. “Do you really think you can speak to me like that in my own home? You should know better than that, sweetheart.”
You scoffed and tried to push him away but he only held you tighter, “What gave you the impression that I even care what you think? You don’t scare me, Vanserra. I see right through you.”
While you knew most of the male’s cruelty and insufferable nature was only for show, the fact that he could very easily overpower you at this moment was not lost on you. You just prayed to the Mother that he couldn’t sense the small amount of fear in your voice.
Something changed in Eris’ stare like he knew something you didn’t. “I don’t scare you? I don’t know about that, princess,” his free hand firmly gripped your waist and you swore you felt sparks under your skin at the touch. “We both know exactly how much I scare you. But, I think you like that.”
Your breath hitched in your throat - he had realized something you hadn’t even been able to admit to yourself. That despite your best efforts, you couldn’t resist the small wave of arousal you felt every time he displayed even a minute amount of his power.
He leaned down to whisper in your ear, “I know you hate me, probably fantasize about killing me, but I think you fantasize about other things as well.” Eris’ voice sent shivers throughout your whole body.
He started to pull away before you gripped the back of his neck and kept him close to you, “The only thing I’m fantasizing about right now is how to shut you up.”
Eris released a breathy laugh against your neck before taking your earlobe in between his teeth. “There are many methods to do that, perhaps we should investigate the ways?” He pulled back just enough to look into your eyes.
His gaze flitted between your wide eyes and your plump lips, waiting to see who would break the tension first. You figured your night couldn’t really get much worse, so you rose up and pulled him to you.
His lips softly brushed against yours, sending a shock down your spine. Eris reluctantly pulled away, lips parted and ragged breaths sawing out of his chest. He suddenly leaned back down and roughly kissed you.
Within no time at all, his tongue roamed around your mouth and your hands were hurriedly pushing his tailored jacked off and onto the floor.
Eris hiked the skirts of your dress up to your hips and pulled you up against the door, your legs wrapping tightly around his waist.
His lips attached to your neck, quickly working at sucking multiple bruises into the soft and supple flesh of your neck. You tried to distract yourself by unbuttoning his silk shirt as you threw your head back against the door.
One of your hands floated up to tangle in his hair, lightly pushing his face into you.
You tried and failed to stifle your moans, “Oh fuck Eris - I still hate you, for the record.”
He sharply bit into your neck at your teasing, pulling a raspy groan from you. One of his hands rose up from his hips to paw at your supple breasts. “ Don’t worry, bunny - I still hate you too.”
You smirked and ground down against his very evident erection. “Are you quite sure about that?”, you whispered in his ear. He lowly growled and bucked his hips up, his bulge grazing your clothed clit.
Eris spun around and threw you down on the bed before stripping off his shirt and standing between your legs. He leaned over and reached around to unzip your dress before pulling it off, leaving you almost bare save for your thin, lacy panties.
He caged you between the bed and his strong chest. You ran your hand over the expanse of firm and freckled skin as he leaned down to kiss and suck at your exposed tits.
His warm and wet mouth around your nipples had you leaking through your panties and moaning for more. You raised your leg and teasingly rubbed your foot against his clothed cock.
At the sudden stimulation, he menacingly growled and bit down on your collarbone before pulling back to look down at you. He licked a smear of blood off his bottom lip before roughly gripping your thighs. He flipped you onto your stomach and hiked your hips up.
Eris gripped your hair and harshly pulled back to arch your back before snarling, “You want to act like a cock-hungry whore? Then I’ll fuck you like one.” He ripped your panties off before spreading your ass to take in your glistening cunt.
You really shouldn’t have teased him when he was this temperamental but you couldn’t help yourself. You bit your lip before muttering, “I sure hope so, you’ve yet to deliver on most of your threats.”
You started to realize that you got yourself into deep shit when you felt the temperature of the room drop as his rage grew and fiery heat radiated off of him. He clicked his tongue before forcefully slapping your ass. “I should’ve known you would’ve been an insufferable brat, just like you always are.”
You were sure there would be a hand-shaped burn on you in the morning if the scorching heat emanating from where he struck you was any sign. The delicious mix of pain and pleasure had you dripping all over his sheets.
You heard him fumble with the laces of his pants and pull them down, hissing at the cool air brushing against his swollen cock. He spread your legs further apart and ran his leaky tip between your soaked folds. “Fuck baby, you’re already so wet for me. I could just slip right in, couldn’t I? Let’s test that.” Without any more warning, he pulled your hips back onto his cock as he thrust forward into you.
The burning stretch and sheer size of him already had you tearing up. He groaned as he stilled inside of you, giving you time to adjust. However, the alcohol you ingested earlier already had you pliant and ready for him. You huffed and wiggled your hips against him, “Well fucking get on with it already, would you?”
The hands gripping your hips heated up to an almost scalding temperature as he hissed at the sudden movement. He reached forward to grip your hair - arching your back up towards him - as he started relentlessly fucking into you. The sheer force of his cock sliding in and out of you knocked the air out of your lungs.
Your gasps quickly turned into moans as the pleasure hit you like a tsunami. The tip of his cock hitting a specific spot inside of you on each stroke and his balls slapping against your clit already had you teetering over the edge. “You just have to be a bitch, don’t you? Can’t even act properly when I’m about to fuck you,” he managed to groan out between low moans and growls.
You gripped onto the silk sheets for dear life. It was moments like this where you could definitely see how powerful he is, the true Heir to a High Lord. You were starting to get overwhelmed by all the different sensations Eris was giving you - the warmth of his hands, the fullness inside you, even his scent of clove and honey from his sheets. Despite this, you couldn’t help but whine for more. “Gods Eris, don’t stop. Fuck - harder!”
He pulled your chest up and off the bed to him before he growled in your ear, “You’ll take exactly what I give you,”. One hand slipped down to rub tight circles on your clit, “Gods, such a good fucking pussy. So tight and wet for me, gripping me just right.”, he moaned in your ear.
He placed a knee on the bed next to yours to get a better angle. “Do you have any idea how hard it's been to restrain myself around you? To not kick everyone out of those insufferable meetings and bend you over the table?” The new angle had his tip brushing against your cervix, making you see stars as your vision dimmed.
You could tell he was getting close when his voice wavered and his chest lightly shook against you with the force of his rapid thrusts. Your walls started to flutter around him as the pressure started to mount in your body.
You interlaced your hands with his as he growled in your ear, “That’s it, bunny, right there.” He bit down into the crook of your neck as his cock rapidly twitched and spilled inside you. The pressure peaked as you fell over the edge, gushing all over his cock as you came.
He gingerly pulled out of you and laid you down on the bed on your back. Eris leaned down and softly kissed you. Your chest was still heaving as you tried to will your heart to relax. You were so focused that you didn’t notice him slip into the adjoining washroom. He quickly returned clad in maroon sweatpants, with a wet towel and glass of water.
You propped yourself up on your elbows and raised your eyebrows, questioning what exactly he was doing. He lightly chuckled as he handed you the water, “I may not like you but I’m not a brute, you still deserve to be treated properly.”
Eris kneeled at the edge of the bed and started to slowly wipe down your shaking legs and through your center. He then laid down some clean clothes next to you, which you quickly slipped on.
Eris sat on the bed against the headboard and pulled you over to rest your head in his lap as you curled up next to him. He placed one hand on your waist as the other ran through your hair. You glanced up to see his head against the headboard, eyes closed with a content smile. He peered open one eye and smirked down at you, “As much as I enjoyed this, we go back to hating each other in the morning.”
You snorted at his blunt command, “Agreed. Until next time, lordling.”. You quickly shut your eyes and drifted off to sleep encompassed by his comforting scent.

Fuck, Marry, Kill
When a friendly game subtly increases the tension burning between Y/N and another fellow Yellowjacket.
The evening had started out innocent enough. Everyone’s spirits were higher than average after Natalie and Travis had returned earlier during the day with the bounties of a successful hunt hauled over their shoulders - It’s amazing how their happiness is now solely reliant on something they took for granted back home.
Shauna quickly prepared dinner, and with that the evening fell into a light and comfortable atmosphere, everyone was laughing and teasing each other with the same friendly comradery they usually displayed in the locker rooms after a soccer match - That is until Mari decided it would be fun to play a particularly daring game… Fuck, Marry, Kill to be exact.
…
The group is gathered close around the fire. Everyone’s a little sleepy, a little punchy. Misty just finished her turn.
Misty - ‘’ Okay, okay- Fuck Travis, Marry Coach Ben, and Kill Lottie’’
The group groans and laughs as she smugly answers. Then Van grins and turns to her side.
Van - ‘’Alright, Y/N. Your turn.’’
Y/N looks up from where they’re gently whittling a stick, slowly blinking in confusion.
Y/N - ‘’...My turn for what?’’
Taissa - ‘’Fuck, Marry, Kill. Come on.’’
Y/N - ‘’I-I don’t-’’
Natalie - ‘’You know the game. Don’t pretend you don’t.’’ Her teasing smirk adding more tension to the situation.
Mari - ‘’Let her pick from us! Ooh - Van, Nat, and me. Go.’’
Y/N’s eyes widen slightly. She stares into the fire, visibly computing. You can almost hear the dial-up tone in her head.
Y/N - ‘’Uh.’’
Akilah - ‘’She’s buffering.’’
Lottie - ‘’Oh my God, she’s blushing.’’
Y/N - ‘’I don’t want to kill anybody.’’ Her tone is soft and innocent as her eyes stay focused on the fire, hoping that the flames hide her internal meltdown.
Van - ‘’She’s too pure for this game. I change my answer, I will marry Y/N.’’
The whole group erupts into laughter. Y/N ducks her head, hiding a shy, crooked smile.
Y/N - ‘’Can I just… I don’t know. Make them all a nice dinner instead?’’
Natalie - ‘’That is not how this game works.’’
She reaches over and gently flicks Y/N on the arm. Teasing her.
Natalie - ‘’You’re so lucky you’re cute when you short-circuit.’’
LATER THAT NIGHT
The fire has burned low, and most of the group has trickled off to sleep. Y/N sits on the porch step of the cabin, strumming her guitar softly in the dark.
Natalie slips out, arms crossed, watching her for a moment.
Natalie - ‘’Still thinking about fuck, marry, kill?’’
Y/N - (quietly, without looking up) ‘’... It’s a cruel game.’’
Natalie - ‘’Cruel? Come on. You got off easy.’’
Y/N - ‘’I didn’t answer.’’
Natalie - ‘’Exactly.’’
She leans against the doorframe, a teasing smile tugging at her lips.
Natalie - ‘’But if it helps… I’d be fine with being two of the options.’’
Y/N stops playing. Her hand hovers mid-chord. She slowly turns her head.
Y/N - ‘’...Which two?’’
Natalie shrugs, almost too casual.
Natalie - ‘’Guess.’’
Y/N just stares at her. You can practically see the error message blink behind her eyes.
Y/N - ‘’I - I should… I should check the traps in the morning.’’ She attempts to change the subject and hide the not-so subtle blush that creeps onto her face.
Natalie - ‘’Mmhmm. You do that.’’
She pushes off the doorframe, grinning, and heads back inside - leaving Y/N completely stunned, guitar forgotten in her lap.
