At least one(1) person asked for it. SO-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We'll start with some stuff from the isat spoiler Q&A
Let's get started!
-There is only one canonical straight shot timeline that technically erases the prologue from existence. When looping back the previous timeline is completely overwritten, like saving over your save file in a game! It's all gone! Despite this, when you start a new game you're making an entirely new Siffrin to torment. So at least you're not making the same Siffrin go through hell again and again! *sweeps Loop under rug* Don't look at that. Don't worry about them. They're fine.
-While wish craft and other craft types are described to have a smell, time craft does not! I mean, what would time craft even smell like anyway? Clocks???
-Mirabelle's time freeze immunity will wear off eventually!
-Loop could actually be still comfortable with He/They. While the time loops did put them through it, the They/Them was mostly for anonymity. But there WAS some sort of identity shift. So you can and should have fun with Loop pronouns. Do it! Do it!!!
-Despite the island being forgotten, it's still physically there the entire game and before that! So it being lost is purely anti-memetic fuckery. It is just censored out by the universe.
-Loop and Siffrin sitting quietly together was originally a bug where ID5 accidentally softlocked Siffrin and trapped him at the tree. They thought it was a sweet moment of respite and implemented it.
Let's Switch it up! Reddit AMA
-There was originally a love triangle between proto Mira, Isa, and Sif before Mirabelle was made aroace. It probably would have ended in an OT3/polycule situation. So QPR MiraIsaSif truthers out there, enjoy this one.
-The idea of Loop being Siffrin came about during saap's developement. Originally the guide for isat was going to be one of ID5's ocs.
-Change God knows everything about meta because they are a God. Loop only gets a smidgen of meta knowledge, however.
-Loop's ability to see what Siffrin is up to works the same way their calls work! The farther Siffrin is, the harder it is. So Loop calls stop working past snack break 3, and Loop can barely see past the King.
-Isabeau wouldn't play video games. He touches grass.
-Siffrin was subconsciously inspired by Snufkin, from The Moomins. So we wouldn't have Siffrin as he is if everyone wasn't rabid over Moomins a few years back.
-Sadnesses ARE are a constant in the world of isat. They only become more common and poweful during times of great duress, like war or Insane False Monarchs with timey wimey powers
-The doppleganger wish in the selfcest book happened "a long time ago" and is only a child's tale now.
-Odile's name is her given name. Kinda. (No elaboration on what the fuck THAT means.)
-Siffrin only got memory issues after leaving home. They were not a forgetful child.
-At one point before they had names, Isabeau was just called "dude".
-While only called scrawny in game, Adrienne calls Siffrin "deathly thin". Metabolism monarch out here. (Probably all the casual wish craft.)
-The reason the party stops reacting to Sif's poking is just because it's tragic and makes things worse for him. That's it. The universe just hates him.
-Everyone but Odile would like rollercoasters.
-Just... this. This is so funny. Also Loop being the final boss while Siffrin is the secret final boss... Also Loop confirmed deity looking!!!
Tumblr media
-"comic!siffrin is a whole different siffrin than game!siffrins sadly. rip to them. still stuck in time" WAY TO FUCK ME UP ON A MONDAY? Comicfrin is still stuck in time.
-The characters have official voice claims but not a single one is serious except for the King's. Mira sounds like Animal crossing isabelle(isa.belle. hm.). Bonnie sound like a inkling from splatoon (ID5 specifically used the female inkling as example). Odile sounds old. Isabeau quantum mechanically sounds flamboyantly gay or like All Might from MHA. Loop sounds like stock glitter sound fx. No Siffrin voice claim. Siffrin has video game protagonist voices which means they sound like whatever you want.
-Loop's glow is comparable to a lamp. Not enough to hurt the eyes.
Siffrin and Friends Q&A time!!(Beware these are SEMI-CANON)
-Siffrin isn't really a trap master. They're just fast enough to activate and dodge the traps.
-Odile doesn't like fennel.
-Fave flowers! Bonnie=Sunflowers, Odile=Orchids, Mira=Lavender, Isa=Roses, Siffrin=None, dubiously answered with dandelions however.
-Sif is a night owl, Bon and Mira are early birds, and Odile and Isa are average.
-Siffrin and Odile have probably eaten crabs and would tempt Bonnie with their sinful ways of consuming crustaceans.
-Odile has been traveling for about 2 years.
-Odile knows how to play a shamisen. It's one of her favorite instruments as well.
-When prompted with competition Loop and Siffrin stare each other down like "kids about to throw hands".
-Loop would like to eat a pastry if they could. GIVE THEM YOUR BAKED GOODS NOW!
-Kill the King day is a Tuesday.
And finally random trivia I found while sniffing through the wiki!
-Salty broths actual cure 6 cooldown, instead of 2 like the dialogue implies.
-Chateau means castle. The cursing of castle castle...
-The Change God face with six eyes and a cat-like mouth is inspired by ID5's oc Eye Gal
-The only time tears can freeze Siffrin with no warning is in saap. By using the second Star Crest to clear one of the rows of Tears, you can just walk into the second row and freeze.
-The dev's older notes mention specific shades being used for hair dyes but they're never mentioned in-game because of the an unadded event.
-In ACT 2, there's a small chance Siffrin says "Heheh… Bonk." when activating the switch for the rock trap
-Saap Bonnie thinks nuts are gross according to some unused dialogue, but enjoys raisins.
-During early development in saap tears were originally intended to be spike traps. A left over sprite of Siffrin being impaled does exist, including minor blood spurt. This was probably changed because it was a little too gruesome, ID5 definitely tried to reel in the darker concepts and has stated they went too dark sometimes.
-Loop turning back into Siffrin was considered long enough for them to get an entire animated walking sprite.

So I saw a poll a few days ago about whether your blorbo would survive if the person they loved the most died and they couldn’t save them. And so I was thinking about the leverage OT3, but specifically if both of the other 2 died and they couldn’t save them, how would each of them go on.
I think Hardison would survive. He would obviously be devastated and especially if he was trying to save them from his computer or something while they were in the field and he failed, he would never get over it. However, he has a support network both deep and wide in his nana, his foster siblings, and to some extent his online friends, as well as Breanna, Sophie, Harry, and other people he knows through Leverage. I think the loss of Parker and Eliot together would fundamentally change him, but eventually, he would be able to move on and find happiness and connection with others again both because he has that support network to hold him up and because connecting with people is such a fundamental part of who Hardison is.
I think Parker is a survivor. She has had to be a survivor for her whole life. She is used to surviving even when everything falls apart. I think she would try and use some of the coping mechanisms we see her use in the show of trying to attribute her emotions to other people or to past or future Parker, but those would be woefully insufficient to this devastation. I could see her for a time running away from people and trying to lose herself in jumping off high buildings and stealing things, but it would end in an utter breakdown. She might even regret becoming the person who had opened her heart and changed together with them and tried to do the right thing. She might almost wish she had stayed alone with her emotions locked away to avoid this current pain. Except she couldn’t ever regret knowing them. She would either come back or Sophie would eventually find her, and they would commiserate about losing their person(s). If Parker had failed to save the boys, she might feel a lot of guilt around Breanna, but Breanna would likely feel guilt about why she wasn't there / couldn't save them either. They would eventually talk it out and then be able to support each other. Parker would survive, but she might lose some of her progress in opening up to people. Someone else would almost certainly have to take over Leverage International for a while. I think Parker would make it through and recover, but would never be as open as she managed to get while she was with Hardison and Eliot.
I think Eliot is the toughest call. On the one hand, he has survived so much that others didn't. From the army, to the PMCs, to working for Moreau and others like him, to (probably the biggest challenge) facing the guilt and shame of who he had become. Eliot got through it all. But now, after swearing to watch over them until his dying day, if he failed to save them, then he would prefer to die with them. Eliot is the most likely of the three to not survive the loss of the other two, but I think it would come down to whether he felt he was still needed. If Sophie, Breanna, Harry, and others that he cares about needed him to protect them, then he might just make it through for them. Eliot, of course, believes he is already damned, and he is not looking for redemption because he doesn't believe it's possible after the things he’s done, but he appreciates the opportunity to be useful. To his mind, he needs to be useful to the people who are redeemed and to doing good in the world, because it’s already too late for him. If losing his partners happened while it was just the 3 of them, I think he would go after those that did it and not intend to survive the process. But if he has the rest of the team, I think he would stay alive to continue protecting them. Especially because of Breanna. If he failed Hardison, he can at least protect his baby sister. Eliot would stay alive for exactly as long as he felt useful, but he would likely never be able to really try retiring from the physical parts of his job and would probably plan on going out swinging when he got too old to be a hitter. Depending on a lot of variables, the rest of the team might eventually be able to convince him that there were other ways to take care of them like cooking and advising and being there for people, but it would be a long shot and, either way, he would never forgive himself for failing to protect Parker and Hardison or for not being the first to go.

Hello I'm here to deliver angst :3
Imagine an alternate universe where Yuu is king Henrik's kid
They've been secretly dating knight of dawn for a while and even fantasized about eloping
When the war starts they get locked away in a tower like a prisoner for their safety, only knight of dawn and Henrik were allowed to enter
When the humans lose the war Henrik accepts defeat and offers his child as a war trophy to the general in exchange for being kept alive in prison
Yuu and knight of dawn are devastated by this but Yuu goes through with it for the sake of making the lives of the people that used to be part of their now conquered kingdom
Time passes by and Lilia is now in a poly relationship with knight and Yuu. Yuu had given birth to silver not too long ago
Yuu was collecting some berries while their husbands were home with silver. Just before they enter their cottage a group of Henrik loyalists attack them
Lilia and Dawn try to get to them but just before they could Yuu gets hit with a spell that transports them to the future
Cue the plot of twisted wonderland
Lilia and Dawn deeply cherish silver as he's the only remaining part of Yuu they have. They tried Searching, interrogating but no matter what they did no one uttered a peep about what spell Yuu was hit with and no amount of tracking spells could find them
Malleus was the first person to recognise Yuu as they were a parent he loved but wasn't allowed to be with publicly due to the senate push back
Hello Anonie 🌷🌺🌸
You know Anonie when I received this ask, I laughed because I was like “I won’t make Malleus and Lilia angst to cope I won’t make angst to cope.”
And then I received this ask as if it’s a sign and just ended up laughing. 😂
OT3 angst it is, except I’m feeling a bit rebellious and I want a happy ending so I’m going to give it to them to the best I can. 😌👏🙏
But also imagine being Henrik’s kid? Silver had a breakdown? Imagine your father being the one to cause so much grief and death? Yikes. 😮‍💨
Your father just gives you up for his own head argh. You can’t do anything because you’re royalty and you don’t want your people to suffer.
You willingly go to the fae side as a royal captive, leaving behind you lover and your people.
You expected to be treated terribly, but you’re not? You still get fae that looks down on you of course. But the fae royal treat you cordially enough. You even get your own guard, a well known one in fact, General Vanrouge.
He’s a surly one and one that makes sure to keep an eye on you for any suspicious actives…but he doesn’t treat you bad.
In fact, he’s rather nice to you in his own way. It’s kind of charming. Similar and yet different than your Knight of Dawn.
Eventually a sort of tie is formed between humans and fae per Levan’s and your cooperation.
And you suddenly find yourself…in a relationship with both Dawn and Lilia. Meleanor finds it hilarious and this is used as a way to ease relations between races. Let’s call it an arranged marriage of sorts 😂
You (royalty), Dawn (well known Knight), and Lilia (the General) would make for a great image of peace, wouldn’t you say?
You’re enjoying life. A beautiful baby, wonderful husbands, and funny in laws and their cute dragon kid.
Everything was fine, until it wasn’t.
You get attacked by loyalists. They asked you to be the figure head of the rebellion group and cut ties with the fae. Of course you didn’t, in the end you got hit with a mysterious spell.
You disappeared right in front of Dawn and Lilia’s eyes. No matter what they did, they couldn’t find you.
And this is where I’m going to twist your scenario Anonie. A plan is made. This is yet to be a world of peace. It will take awhile. So Dawn, Silver, and Malleus is put to sleep. Until peace is brought. So history won’t repeat itself as it did with you.
Lilia is awake, he’s takes the mantle of helping relations between countries with Levan. An ambassador of you will.
The first one to wake is Malleus like in canon.
Then you have Silver.
A couple years after, it’s Dawn.
Years pass, and most of them end up at NRC. Dawn is a sword instructor at RSA but also part of NRC as well. Easier way to spend time with family this way.
Then comes the day of Grim’s mayhem but the difference? Diasomnia was evacuated from the mirror chamber. They had to make sure Malleus and co were protected. They weren’t going to make the same mistakes.
So how do you meet Malleus and the others?
Well of course like in canon, Malleus realizes someone now lives at Ramshackle dorm.
You noticed glowing lights and they look and feel familiar. You run outside and is shocked to see Meleanor…no, it’s not her but Malleus. He’s all grown up.
Malleus recognized you right away. You both have an emotional reunion.
You were reunited with one of your boys again. 🥹💞
Soon after, another emotional reunion takes place with the rest.
———
Extra:
*Some time in the future*
You’re reading a history book for Trein’s class but half of what’s written…didn’t happen that way?
“This didn’t happen.”
Lilia, nonchalantly, “Don’t mind it. We had to change some things on how the war took place and ended.”
You couldn’t be happier, “Good, I hope that asshole of a father of mine died in misery and shame.”

Gérard/Sven/Yvette; up to snuff
As we approach the final two weeks publication, here's the last of the extras! For the prompt: I would love early relationship Sven/Yvette/Gerard, angst or fluff or first times or hurt/comfort.
(It's early relationship! But maybe not the OT3 one)
“I have a question for you,” Sven says.
“If it’s about that shirt, the answer is no,” Gérard says.
Sven looks down. “It’s a no?” he says.
“I feel like I’m looking at one of those books of optical illusions,” Gérard says.
“I liked those books,” Sven says.
Gérard did too. He doesn’t even mind the shirt, dizzying as it is, though Sven would get fined if the team saw it, and he clearly knows that, since this is the first time Gérard has seen it.
“It’s visual stimulation,” Sven insists. Gérard has to wonder, sometimes, where he comes from. Ottawa, by way of Sweden, but Gérard knows a lot of Ottawans, and a few Swedes too. They also find Sven inexplicable.
“Don’t you think Yvette gets enough of that in a classroom?” Gérard asks. He can’t think of anything more visually stimulating than an elementary school classroom. It’s almost like that’s the point.
“You have a point,” Sven says. “I’ll change.”
“No patterns!” Gérard says.
“You’re no fun!” Sven says.
Gérard’s fun. At least, he remembers being fun. Lately, perhaps, not so much. Perhaps he’d be more fun if Sven wasn’t constantly asking him for advice before his dates with Yvette.
He’s trying not to be weird about it. It’s hard, though, when Sven’s asking how to look sharp for a woman he only met because Gérard met her first. That is, when he isn’t asking where to take her, what to do, how to act, like he’s forgotten everything in the face of meeting her.
Gérard would think Sven had never dated before, but he was coming to the bitter end of a two year relationship when they met, and he’s dated a few women since, though nothing was serious enough for Gérard to meet them, let alone the rest of the team.
Yvette has met the team, of course. Day one, but Sven’s invited her to every event open to significant others since. She’s only come to one, to Sven’s disappointment — unsurprisingly, the schedule of a hockey player clashes with the schedule of a teacher — but if Gérard needed a sign that Sven was serious about her — he didn’t — that would have made it very obvious. The team’s important to him. More important than anything. Though perhaps not lately.
Sven was hesitant to ask him for advice at first, considering the situation, but Gérard told him it was fine, and he can’t be mad at Sven for taking him at his word. And it should be fine. He wants it to be fine. He’s sure it will be, eventually, and he’s waiting for that.
And who else could Sven ask for advice, really?
His parents? They’re somehow even weirder than Sven is — everything about him was explained the day Gérard met him. Or, nothing was explained, he’s still inexplicable, but at least he figured out where it came from.
Friends? Sven doesn’t have them, outside the team.
So then, the only alternative is their teammates. Yvette seems almost as smitten as Sven, which is saying something, since Gérard wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already surreptitiously measuring her ring finger whenever they hold hands. But even with that latitude, if Sven follows their boneheaded advice he’ll almost certainly end up single again. Every one of their teammates in a relationship got to that point despite everything about them. Gérard is saying that with affection — mostly — but even so.
“How’s this?” Sven asks, emerging from his bedroom, then striking a pose as Gérard surveys him.
“You look good,” Gérard say.
He does. The shirt’s a solid colour, thankfully. Sven was unable to resist pairing it with a patterned tie, but they work together. His hair’s sticking up a little, probably from the quick change, but it’s endearing. Gérard thinks Yvette would find it endearing too, but then, he doesn’t really know that, does he?
“You need to fix your hair, though,” he says, and Sven runs his fingers through it, messing it up worse until Gérard takes over, finger combing it into submission. His hair’s soft and thin, almost downy, like a child’s. Gérard tries not to linger.
“I’m nervous,” Sven admits. Gérard’s well aware of that, though there isn’t really anything to be nervous about at this point. It’s not like it’s a first date, or meeting the parents — if it wasn’t already clear they were serious, the fact she’s already met Sven’s and Sven’s already met hers, well, Gérard thinks that makes it very clear.
Sven’s parents adored her, and Gérard’s not surprised. Sven’s unsure how her parents felt about him, and Gérard’s not really surprised by that either. He bets they liked him, though. It’s hard not to be a little overwhelmed when the full force of his attention aimed at you, but it’s hard not to be bowled over by it either.
“You have nothing to be nervous about,” Gérard says.
“I know,” Sven says, cracking a small, nervous smile.
How could Yvette be anything but endeared? Gérard never had a chance, but she didn’t have one either.
“Thank you,” Sven says. “For, you know.”
“Saving Yvette’s eyesight?” Gérard asks.
“Yes,” Sven says. “Thank you for that.”
“Any time,” Gérard says, and wishes he was strong enough not to mean it.

Fic title: somewhere between here and there
“This is a dream,” Harry said in his most serious voice.
“Is it?” The boy with big red wings asked in confusion.
“People don’t have wings.”
“Yeah they do!”
“Nu-uh!”
“They do! All people have Quirks!”
“What’s a Quirk?”
Summary: Harry visits Hawks in dreams as a child and grows up with his friend always visiting. Together they at first think Harry is an early Quirk user who can see the future in dreams, then magic happens and eventually they figure out ‘oh we’re in different universes’. They bond over being child soldiers and then Harry decides fuck his world when nothing changes after the world. He packs up Hermione, Teddy, Andromeda and the Weasley clan to move to another dimension where Hawks eagerly waits for his little brother.
Pairings: Golden Trio OT3, Brotherly Harry/Hawks, Percy somehow ends up with Hawks, Bill/Fleur and George walks into a bar and ends up in a three way with EraserMic
Notes: Just fluff

KOBDSS is my ot3. I adore them so much!! BD and SS love KO and while BD is a huge softy, SS has trouble showing his affection (thanks megatron). I think KO is the one proposing this polyamorous relationship since he kinda started liking SS too, being very open about the interest towards SS while speaking with BD
It might all have started with them watching human movies occasionally but it turned to become something more over time. Maybe they all had a little too much high grade at some point and started with soft kisses which left SS confused but not dissapointed?
Breakdown like "Oh boy! Two husbands!" because I cannot see this man as EVER being the jealous sort. That's KO and SS's deal, he's the rock between them.
I headcanon Knocks to actually be a reformatted Seeker that traded his wings for wheels too, so he understands the subtlest aspect of flight frame body language too. He reads it loud and clear when SS is freaked out or stressing or happy. He KNOWS Starscream likes him and can read that shit clear as day, because lets be real, SS is an open book once you know what to look for.
Combine that with the common headcanon that Starscream's got some level of trauma from losing his trine (I haven't finished the novels but I know that was entirely his fault), and you've got TRUST AND CONFIDENCE ISSUES OUT THE WAZOO BABY
I love the idea though that these huge titans, terrifying forces to behold each in their own right, end up having one of the softest romances. Because honestly all three of them deserve it. This is an au where Breakdown doesn't die, where eventually all three of them end up as Autobots, and all three of them get some fucking therapy.
Oh yeah, and SS bottoms for both of them because I say so.

Ooohhh Roski is into shipping??? 😁😁
Letsee.... Link and Zelda?
Okay, I know this is a boring answer. But...
Ship it.
1. What made me ship it... well, I have eyes. And I used those eyes to see the cutscenes that lay out the plot of Ocarina of Time. Even if running highly on implication more than showing everything, the bond the two share is strong enough as to drive the emotional aspect of the game's climax and ending. I didn't even know the word "yearning" back then, but I felt it. The "book ends" moment of that game isn't tied to the Master Sword, or Link waking up or anything like that. No, it's the two of them meeting in Hyrule Castle's garden.
2. What I like about this ship... What's there not to like? You technically get multiple ships for the price of one! With a few exceptions each game has a different incarnation of these characters(as in, they're quite literally different people) and they bring a different dynamic each time. From the knight in shining armor that jumped to the call, to childhood friends everyone is waiting to see eventually make the leap, to the badass girl that recruited the gremlin boy or even a soft version of enemies to lovers. Anyone that has played these games KNOWS which one is which, and that's amazing. With, of course, a few constants. Even if Link is technically a silent protagonist, the little characterization that is clear cut with him is that he would lay his life for her. Every time. No questions asked.
3. An unpopular opinion... Eh, it's honestly a lukewarm take at this point but the idea that some people possit they're destined to be lovers is flat out bullshit. Eat your heart out Hyrule Warriors, never bring your ugly writing into the series again (wait, there's a new upcoming game. SHI-)
For real tho, I find this idea uninteresting. For starters, I don't mind that much scenarios where either of them found love elsewhere, like Link finding a quite life with Malon in Ocarina of Time or Zelda falling for Midna in Twilight Princess(even if that game is PRIME material for an OT3, the two regal princesses that shared a soul through hardship and the country bumpkin hero that stood by them at every step of the way). But more importantly... I think love HAS to be a decision to be meaningful. The two of them being bound to find each other so they can join forces to fight off evil? That's perfectly fine. But if Link and Zelda are predestined lovers and just follow said predestination each time, then what's the point. They may be different takes on the same ship, but every love should matter for a different reason.

“don’t remember there being any hounds around here” + lilbea :0?
Need you to know this was probably my favorite One Of These I got in this game
After much consideration I think I would have this one be like. My total autopsy (+ perhaps revival?) of the entire Bea/Lilith relationship featuring my most self-indulgent HCs
I'd be inventing a lot. Much of the concept would be predicted on Bea and Lilith knowing each other before the OCS. Given their families backgrounds being implied to be similar and the way their values are aligned, I think this is an easy idea to sell.
They know each other vaguely via their families but they really connect in high school - Bea was inauspiciously transferred in the middle of the year from a different school. There's rumors that she was going to be expelled for breaking a morality clause. (Aka she got caught dyking it up). These rumors as far as Lilith is concerned - and she's intense and basically friendless anyway, so her mother's suggestion of taking Beatrice as a roommate as a favor to her family is mildly inconvenient at first but no great hardship.
It's through Lilith and her chosen path to the OCS that Beatrice decides to also pursue that role. Together they clique up hard, socializing mostly with each other and training intensely. What's key here is that Lilith becomes deeply enmeshed in a homoerotic friendship that she absolutely DOES NOT realize is homoerotic. It is an intense but perfectly normal straight friendship and honestly it's a relief because not only is Bea the first person to really not seem to resent Lilith's competitiveness and social rough edges and they challenge each other and they're accomplishing goals together!
They have probably one single conversation eventually about Bea being a lesbian but Lilith plays it all wrong. Not that she's a jerk on purpose but y'know - isn't a relief that that doesn't even matter? They both decided they're going to be nuns and join the OCS together so whatever Bea's sexual preferences are is irrelevant. Vow of chastity and all that. None of it will matter when Lilith is Warrior Nun and Bea is there at her side and they're fighting demons together.
(Lilith obviously has a devastating but unacknowledged crush on Bea, but the reverse is not necessarily true. Beatrice is so deep in the throes of shame and repression that she's strangled every tiny flicker of attraction to Lilith she's ever felt)
Smash cut to now they're in the OCS and there's already a strain on the relationship. Lilith is no longer literally the only person who is friends with Bea. She's well-liked and competent and not abrasive like Lilith is. Lilith is, of course, Not Normal about this.
Mary and Shannon in the mix dilute/balance out some of the tension for a time. And then Shannon gets the Halo and Lilith crashes out and alienates herself.
Canon fills in a little more from here. Lilith isolates, Shannon is eventually betrayed and killed, Lilith loses the Halo again because Ava shows up. Lilith dies. Lilith comes back. Bea fucks off to Switzerland. Lilith isolates and goes evil. Ava fucks off through the portal.
Definitely overlapping with my OT3 fic with @nataliving from this point on but I'm interested in what happens with Bea and Lilith after the end of s2. They saw each other through such significant moments, even when they were in opposition to each other. They both went through parallel journeys that ended with them leaving the OCS to pursue something else for themselves. I'd want some relationship study from that point. And also maybe to finally have them makeout in some capacity.
Anyway. Yeah, that's what I'd do lmao

I think you mentioned in one of your older posts that Trucy starts her own family in your AU at some point? Are there any details you can share? Trucy being a mother, and Phoenix, Edgeworth and Maya being grandparents, sound like fun ideas to explore.
Hello, friend! It's actually funny, I could've sworn I spoke about Trucy's fankids in more detail than "they exist", but I guess I haven't!
Anyway, here are her twin boys!
Tumblr media
Their names are Ace and Jack Hyde, but they perform as one person named "Janus Gramarye" on stage. Their father is a Troupe member named Timothy "Tim" Hyde, and the gag with him is that despite how much Trucy talks about him, Phoenix has never seen him--not even at their wedding--so he thinks Trucy made him up.
Trucy and her show are on the road quite a bit in the AU, and since the AU is focused on the Mayonarumitsu family, there's not too many details about Trucy's family other than what I've shared above.
When Trucy's family is in town, it's not a given that Maya and the Fey girls are in town at the same time, so she sees them even less than she sees Phoenix, Edgeworth, and Gregory Wright. Trucy was far too old for Maya to adopt her when she and Phoenix had to marry to appease Kurain Village Customs to have the kids, so Maya is not technically her parent. Regardless, Trucy does start calling her "Mama" once Gregory was on the way and her twins call her "Mama Maya".
They call Phoenix "Grandpa" (obviously), and Phoenix always felt strange being a grandfather especially since Trucy's twins were born when his and Maya's youngest was only six years old. They also call Gregory "Uncle Grey".
Edgeworth is a little more distant, but the twins still call him "Papa Miles" regardless. He doesn't really see himself as their grandfather, but it's not something he will dare tell them straight to their face. He tries his best to be family, though.
Thanks for the question!
Some info about how I haven't been active lately below the cut! :)
Hello friends! I know I haven't posted in a couple months, and I still have a few asks that haven't been answered. I'm sitting on a pile of WIPs for artwork I want to have with those asks, so I'll get to them eventually!
I've been really busy with work this summer and I've spent most of my time with the AU writing that same fanfiction I mentioned before--the one that details how the OT3 went from where they were at the end of "Spirit of Justice" to being parents together. I wound up rewriting most of it and I'm very pleased with how it's turning out so far, and I can't wait to share it!
I'm not sure how often I can post since I'm still very busy, but I want to try do maybe make more simple artwork to post and answer asks so I could be more active! We'll have to see what happens!
Thank you all for your love and support for the AU. Your notes, kind words, tags, and comments all make me smile!

Post book 1 thoughts but spoiler free only for the mystery plot.
So at first I was like- ohhh in cop politics it's about to get dirty.
And it did.
But like always priest is so good at managing the slow build up of emotional connection through the story events.
Because while there's an obvious history between them, the gradual decline of the Frost seems fast at first but at the same time the pacing is so good.
The hints dropped around the plot where we see the clear dislike ZhouDu have for each other but there's also a very obvious line of trust.
And the trust isn't- you wouldn't hurt me/you are a good person but explicitly in skills.
At first I thought it was gonna be a whole oh those two fall in love while fighting over Tao Ran(totally considered going the ot3 shipper route for them) but eventually it just became clear that Tao Ran is a bridge. While both of them seem to very obviously care for and respect Tao Ran, there's a trust they have in each other that does not extend to Tao Ran.
Fei Du is always seeking out Tao Ran because he's kinder, softer, gentler and does let him stick around because he cares but when it comes to details about the case he never opens up properly.
The moment he gets a real clue on possibilities he reaches out directly to Luo Wenzhou instead of Tao Ran.
Similarly when Tao Ran brings up case detail clue Luo Wenzhou is sceptical but open until he hears that it was Fei Du who figured it out and then he's not only open to listen but believes it immediately and jumps into action.
Of course they still have ways to go but the foundation is already there. They don't like each other but there's a respect in capabilities.
It made me wonder in the end when Luo Wenzhou talked to Fei Du about how he did investigate Fei Du's father after Fei Du kept insisting his mother did not kill herself and if Fei Du already knew.
Because Luo Wenzhou clearly caught the PI Fei Du had hired to trail his father, so Fei Du has to know and pick up on it right???
And if he did, it would bring a lot more thoughts to me...
It's very interesting their dynamic.
Now intended fanboying- okay Luo Wenzhou I can't believe you just straight up starting peeling the shrimps for him!!!
Luo Wenzhou would clearly pass the orange test.
And the scent thing??? "He no longer found the scent stimulating" bullshit!!! I heard you say the next line- "what a waste." Sirrrr waste??? You wanna kiss Fei Du so bad it makes you look stupid!!!!

I am still thinking about Hoenn boys, specifically mer!Wallace AU.
I feel like it's been a million years since I colored and finished a piece of art. It's also been forever since I used this softer coloring style. Feels good.
Here are some more AU sketches.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And for anyone that's interested, I'll ramble a bit more about the AU under the cut.
So this AU of course centers around my Steven/Wallace/Brendan OT3 because I love them. It starts off with Wallace saving Steven from drowning (it's cliché but I gotta do it) and, after some shenanigans, he ends up staying with Steven and Brendan.
Wallace is from the mysterious mermaid city, Sootopolis, which is inaccessible to humans (the mermaids and water pokemon guard the underwater entrance and a mysterious air current makes traveling there via the air impossible). For this AU, I'm giving the mermaids whatever attributes allow me to have the most fun. Their tail transforms into legs when they're on land so they can easily blend in with humans and they can lure in, captivate, and briefly control humans with their siren song.
Wallace finds humans entertaining and is down bad for Steven as soon as he lays eyes on him. Prior to meeting Steven and Brendan, Wallace had a history of luring in hot guys with his singing to have sex with them. He also participated in contests for a short time and would usually find his targets at the contest hall. Steven is immune to his singing (Wallace is not happy about this). Brendan is not immune (Steven is not happy about this).
Steven and Brendan pretty much have a similar dynamic to my normal headcanons. They have that mentor/mentee thing going, but Steven is especially protective of Brendan in this au. They both have romantic/sexual feelings for the other but Brendan is too shy/inexperienced to do anything about it and Steven is an idiot.
It's not everyday that Brendan meets a mermaid so he thinks Wallace is super cool and quickly develops a crush. Steven is intrigued by Wallace but doesn't completely trust him.
Wallace wants Steven and initially sees Brendan as an obstacle, but he eventually realizes that he won't get anywhere with Steven if he's not nice to Brendan, so he warms up to him. And then he eventually catches feelings for Brendan too which Steven is not too pleased about.
I'll stop there for now. Hopefully I can draw more stuff for this AU when I have the energy because it's fun to think about and Wallace is very pretty. <3

Steph for the ask game?
three facts about them from my personal headcanons
-The first woman Steph was ever attracted to was Zatanna. She didn't realise this until later on when she was dating Cass and it clicked that it hadn't just been platonic girl crush appreciation
-She did actually die. The body they put in the ground was actually Steph. Due to reality warping from various villains she ended up in Africa with Leslie who admitted that she hadn't actually let Steph die but tried everything and saw her bleed out regardless. They were both highly confused how she was alive again and they never did fully confirm why.
-She has all the autopsy scars and long lasting damage from Black Mask's torture. She used to play the piano but when she came back her fingers didn't stretch the way they used to and the first time she tried it gave her a panic attack.
a reason they suck
They were created and written by Chuck Dixon, which often meant being a part of his shitty conservative propaganda. She was more of a victim than a perpetrator most of the time, but I'd love to have modern Steph reflect on that and be like "Damn that internalized misogyny was kicking my ass sometimes huh."
a reason they are great
What if the entire narrative was stacked against you, what if your writers and editors looked down on you for being a teenage girl and treated you as nothing more than a pawn in their shitty sexist manpain stories. And what if you survived and triumphed and became loved enough to carve your own narrative. What if people have come and gone from the "family" that once excluded you maliciously but you're still here and kicking, a core part of it now. They put you in the Robin uniform as a consolation prize before killing you but you're still here and you're clawing your part in that history with everything you've got. For everyone that'll say Damian is the fourth Robin there's someone who'll reply "Actually that was Stephanie Brown."
a reason I relate to them
Being an isolated teenage girl who feels a deep anger at the injustice of the world and doesn't quite have anywhere to fit in or fully vent that anger? I was literally two bad days away from going out on the street to fight crime when I was a teen. I tend to relate to Cass more because the specific mentality and issues she have resonate strongly, but Steph also has plenty of material for me to dig into.
(what I consider to be) the top tier otp/ot3 for that character
Stephcass. It's gotta be stephcass. I could give a million reasons but I've yelled about this so much on my blog already. They bounce off each other so well, they've got the backstory and angst and complex dynamic while also being funny and cute together. The accidental romantic narrative they created is so damn good it barely needs anything to canonize it at this point.
five things that never happened to that character that I believe should have happened
A proper go at being Robin. An apology from Bruce. A discussion with Tim about what they did wrong and an apology too. A long talk with Cass after she came back from the dead with (you guessed it) an apology from Cass. Getting to talk to preboot Jason about what it means to be a sacrificial lamb to give Batman manpain and hype Tim up as the perfect Robin.
five people that character never fell in love with and why
-Dean. Even if she hadn't gotten pregnant it would have never worked out. He was simply too old and for all Steph hates herself she would have realized it eventually
-Detective Gage, for exactly the same reasons as Dean.
-Jason. He died before she came along and by the time he came back it would never cross either of their minds to be anything but purely platonic. They can bond but neither of them appeal to the other romantically.
-Kyle Mizoguchi. He's sweet and they could be something but unfortunately she's in love with Cass at this point. Like the entirety of Batgirls is just Steph and Cass being in love and not realizing it. Kyle had the wrong timing.
-Dick Grayson. The hypothetical age difference isn't a problem for Steph. But obviously, it's an issue for Dick. If she were ever to fall in love with him in an alternate universe and confess he'd be highly alarmed to find out why she thought things were possible between them. It might actually be nice for Steph to get an understanding ear and a shoulder to cry on, someone to tell her that it's not her fault and those men were wrong, but that's all. For one thing Dick is not a scumbag who creeps on young girls and for another thing that's his little brother's ex. In no universe could this ever be more than a one sided crush.

Hi author I would like to ask in OT3 au what would be y/n's , dawn and Lilia's reaction if they found out Rollo tried to harm their babies (malleus, sebek and specially silver)
P.s. please call me 👀🍵🥂🥳
[Masterlist]
Hello 👀🍵🥂🥳 Anonie,
Wait Anonie, did you want me to use all those emojis or just pick one? 🤣
This is an interesting question because the Prefect did end up going to the City of Flowers with Malleus, Sebek, and Silver if we follow canon events.
So in this au, it would depend if it’s the same situation or Lilia and Dawn attends too.
If it follows canon and only the four went, it would depend on if they tell them or not. Though I believe, eventually it would come out either way.
Tumblr media
The room became silent, not a sound could be heard.
The four watched as Lilia stilled, even Dawn seemed to freeze.
“Did you take care of him?”
“He was dealt with adequately. I saw to it myself.” Malleus answered.
“Good.”
They knew that if he had given any other answer, Rollo would have much more to fear than magic.
While Lilia smiled, his eyes belied the truth. The General might be retired but it did not mean he would not take up his weapon again, especially when it came to protecting his family.
As Dawn came and held your hands, making sure you were truly alright. You could see the calm and calculative appearance of a commander from bygone times, masked but truly never gone.
Rollo was lucky these two had not been chosen for the event.
Tumblr media
If the two had gone on the event, let’s just say, these two were feared for a reason back in their days.
As for YN, what was the saying? Hell hath no fury on a pissed off Mother. I can see them digging into Rollo at the masquerade ball as they danced with him, saying how if he ever tried to hurt their loved ones again. No one would ever be able to find him. It was as if he disappeared into thin air.

MOONSTARCEST PLEASEEEEE TELL ME ABT IT
They're always on my mind. My OT3. I feel like the most popular variant would be wolfstar + Regulus but my heart is taken by Starcest + Remus who joins them later. He's always had a crush on Sirius but didn't know Reg very well, he kinda saw Reg as this Victorian horror movie child that's better left alone. But then somehow he ends up getting closer to both of them, and he thought he'd known Sirius so well but it turns out that there's a whole new side to Sirius when he's with Reg??? And Reg, oh Reg. He's a whole different person to what Remus had thought. So different to the haughty closed off mask he shows in public. Anyway they end up as friends with benefits (probably because Sirius asked and Regulus could never say no to him) and at first Remus is delusional as hell but eventually he has to accept that he's hopelessly in Love with both of them, and listen, my favourite concept is Remus being In Love With Their Love. He knows the brothers have been through hell and yet they're always so gentle and loving with each other and every time he sees them together it takes his breath away. He's such a pining loser but he thinks they could never want more from their arrangement, they're already so perfect together. Meanwhile Reg is having a crisis because he's falling for Remus and he eventually has a breakdown in front in front of Sirius (they're physically unable to keep secrets from each other) where he confesses about his feelings and Sirius, who's loved both Reg and Remus for as long as he can remember, is like 👀👀 Reg likes Remus? I interesting... But he's Reg's big brother before he's anything else so for now he focuses on reassuring Reg that he's not angry and he tells Reg that just because he loves Remus doesn't mean he loves Sirius any less. So after that Sirius keeps his eyes Open and starts subtly playing a matchmaker, encouraging both when they confide their feelings to each other. But he never tells them that the other one likes them too, he knows they have to figure it out by themselves. Anyway Remus and Reg are the biggest nerds, they bond over literature and leave each other poems and shit like that. And something something there's a big fight where Remus leaves and the brothers realise that it's just not the same without him anymore. Sure they're perfect together but Remus... Remus fills all the cracks they hadn't known they had. So then there's the making up and confessions and they make love and Remus says "I'll stay with you for as long as you want me" and Sirius says "promise" and Remus does and they're so perfect together and I love them so much you have no idea how much I love them. Also in my head Reg is a dom, Remus is a switch and Sirius is a sub.
Also I couldn't not take this opportunity to promote my wolfstarcest series that's like a bunch of one shots from the au I just described: https://archiveofourown.org/series/4099510

Maycrowzer Headcanons (SFW)
I'll get back to writing prompts eventually. Been a little under the weather lately with an injury that isn't healing, so I made a self-indulgent list of headcanons for my favorite Bad Batch OT3.
TW: Mentions of PTSD, alcohol abuse, anger issues, body dysmorphia, and eating disorders.
Howzer is jealous of Mayday when they first find and rescue him from Tantiss. He’ll never forget the way Crosshair forgot himself and ran into Mayday’s arms amongst the bodies littering the floor of the base. The only greeting he got was an anxious sneer when Crosshair showed up on Teth.
The threesome was Mayday’s idea. He pitches it to Howzer so casually that Howzer thinks he’s joking at first, but when he sees that Mayday is serious, he figures he has nothing left to lose.
None of them expected the outcome, especially Crosshair. No way was his luck so high that he had reconciled and found love with Howzer AND was able to rescue Mayday and be with him, too.
Moving to Pabu just seemed right. Mayday wasn’t willing t fight anymore, and he was determined to keep Crosshair safe. Howzer took some convincing, but ultimately, being where they were was what he wanted.
They build their house close to the beach. It didn’t matter much to Crosshair where they ended up as long as they were together and his brothers and sister were nearby.
Howzer, having initially been trained to be a marine soldier, loves being near the open water.
Mayday, having spent much of the last couple of years in a cold, frozen planet, like having the warmth of the sun and colors of the sunset filtering through their bedroom window.
He also has a garden in the backyard that he tends to daily. His garden becomes the island’s best source of medicinal herbs and vegetables for harvesting and Mayday is very proud of it.
Also, this man is so into Dad Rock. Sometimes he can get Crosshair to loosen up and rock out with him in the living room, but other times Crosshair comes in from shopping to see Mayday and Omega with Hunter’s old bandana wrapped around her head playing a mean air guitar.
Howzer picks up a job as security detail for the island. It makes him feel like he’s still contributing to the rebellion by keeping his loved ones and Pabu safe from the Empire. He’d heard about Tech’s brainwashing and what he did to Pabu while he was under the Empire’s control, and he vows to never let anything like that happen again.
Crosshair spreads out his time doing odd jobs for the people on the island and picks up a whittling hobby. He’ll sit on the beach with his toes in the water and a knife watching the sun move across the sky and make little trinkets out of wood. He’s rather good at it, and most residents of the island have one of his masterpieces in their houses.
But not everything is perfect in paradise.
They all have nightmares. Some of them are easier to get through than others. Sometimes, they’re bad enough that someone needs to be restrained.
The first time it happens, Crosshair clocks Howzer in the face because he thinks Howzer is a Shadow Clone that’s come for him and his family. Howzer understands, but Crosshair apologizes for weeks after the incident.
Mayday develops a drinking problem, which is to say, he gets violent and angry when he’s had too much to drink and has a habit of taking it out on Crosshair and Howzer. Howzer can handle it, but if Mayday starts in on Crosshair, Howzer makes Crosshair leave to stay with one of his brothers until Mayday calms down and sobers up.
It doesn’t happen often. Many times Mayday can have several drinks and be fine and happy or maybe even horny, but when it does happen, Howzer knows they’re in for a long night.
After two years of living the island life together, they make their relationship a marriage. They don’t wear rings. Rings can get lost or ruined or given back. Instead, they get matching tattoos of three planets, one for how they each met one another: Ryloth, Barton IV, and Coruscant. (Technically, Howzer met Mayday on Tantiss, but they collectively agreed that planet has no place in their lives or on their bodies anymore). The three planets all surround one in the center, Pabu.
Mayday has his on his chest, right over his heart, because he’s a romantic sap.
Crosshair has it on his left hip.
Howzer has his on his right calf.
When they’re a little older and the lush, island lifestyle begins to catch up with them, Howzer develops an eating disorder. His physical appearance is important to him, and he’s worked incredibly hard to maintain his physique and proportions, but age can’t help but make him softer around the edges, and he hates it.
He wakes up one morning after a few months of eating only what he needs to and working out endlessly to see himself in the mirror. He’s pleased with what he sees, unable to tell that he isn’t healthy. He’s too thin and looks frail, but he’s finally happy with what he sees in the mirror.
Mayday looks at him that morning, REALLY looks, and he sees what Howzer can’t, but Howzer is smiling in a way that he hasn’t in a short while, and he’s so proud of himself. It breaks Mayday’s heart.
(An intervention occurs, and Mayday and Crosshair do their best to keep reassuring Howzer that he’s not less for enjoying the life that he worked for).
They have family dinners once a week, usually at Hunter and Tech’s place, but sometimes at Wrecker and Shep’s house. Omega and Lyana love to cook for them (with help from Shep and Wrecker, who takes interest in it when he learns just how much you can do with food).
One of Crosshair’s favorite photos is one that Tech sneakily took during one of the festivals on the island of Howzer dancing with Omega and spinning her around. He gives a copy of the photo to her when she confides in them that she’s joining Hera’s fleet in the resistance.

ok i do legally have to request Aporia and Z-one for that ask meme too ♥ 👴
Being for cereal Dana, I'm only surprised you resisted the urge to ask about them first!
Aporia:
Why I like them/why I don’t
I took a while to warm on Aporia and admittedly a lot of that warming was because of a rewatch in light of Dana's S-tier propaganda re-contextualizing him. With the benefit of getting the full experience, I can very confidently call Aporia a very good villain, one who's given some great duels and some interesting character dynamics- especially with Leo and Z-One before the end of his journey.
I also just have to bring up Aporia's name and the symbolism tied to it, given it's referencing either the personification of perplexity, powerlessness, and want of means, or the theorem related to confusion caused by multiple pieces of evidence supporting different answers, tying back into his origin point as three different takes on the same person and their despair.
What I like about their appearance
He's this big massive motherfucker who looks like an architect's worst nightmare for door design with them massive shoulderpads lol. I do love the shoulderpads ngl, especially with how they make him resemble Astro Mekanikle!
But for real I do love how Aporia genuinely does look like a patchwork of the three Emperors while still having a distinct style and identity of his own. His new design also leans into a divine angel much more heavily, and while I don't quite have the words or ability to explain it very well, I can still point at the wings he creates and go "Hey look he's a fallen angel here to represent his one true God."
Do I prefer their dub names or original names?
Same in both, fortunately.
Performance wise it's a close toss up. Masakazu Nemoto's turn in the Japanese is a great performance, and he's obviously allowed to show much more range than the dub actor due to the circumstances of the dub's ending, meaning he gets much more time to strut his stuff like in the duel against Jack and the Twins.
Jamal Najum Khan gets less time in the sun but I've always been fond of his odd little enunciation habits that meant I clocked him in seconds as the voice of Christopher in Zexal as a result. I find I play Aporia more in DL when I have the English voices installed, if that's any indicator? Largely because I adore how Khan says some of the lines like "Meklord Army of SKIEL!" I also like that they gave Khan a chance through the taunts and win/loss lines to say a lot of the major lines he missed a chance to.
OTP
You know it's that horrible, no good, fucked up old man yaoi in Zoneporia baby. Aporia's absolute trust in Z-One when they work together to rebuild him, the intimacy that it must have taken to trust Z-One with the knowledge of his three greatest despairs, and then trying to use that trust to win Z-One over in their duel only for Z-One to coldly shoot him down (and then warmly shoot him down by burning him alive :) :) ). I have a soft spot for relationships where elements of worship and divinity creep in so this is very much an up my alley ship.
NOTP
I'm sure it exists but like Aporia to me gets shipped with so few characters I wouldn't even know where to start with like, NOTPing him.
OT3
Old Man Iliaster polycule yaoi... save me Old Man Iliaster polycule yaoi...
Favourite card they use
Torn between Fortissimo just because of how awesome it is that we get a spin on the "Marik merging with Ra" thing that every series homages eventually by having Aporia merge with a Field Spell, and my big asshole friend Astro Dragon Triskelion with whom I have cheesed several wins with on Duel Links.
Favourite moment they were in
It's either his matches against Jack and the Twins or his last stand against Z-One, but honestly these flow into the other as one big collected moment. I think his role as the villain for Jack and the Twins takes it though, with him being this literal wall that tears Jack and Luna to shreds (while he has a needle being stabbed into their hearts no less!) and leads to Leo stepping up and locking in enough to generate an entirely new Signer Mark, causing Life Stream Dragon's creation! What a good duel.
Least favourite moment
Sure is funny how in the dub continuity Aporia just rolls up, talks some mad shit about the future, Yusei goes "OK," kills him so hard he explodes, and then the world is saved. Almost like Z-One saw that happen and went "OK we're not fucking with Yusei, prevent the apocalypse and run, leave him Bruno as a peace offering."
And when I say funny I mean kinda lame. :/
Would I fuck, marry or kill them
I feel that either option would leave me with nothing but despair so n/a.
Tumblr media
Z-One:
Why I like them/why I don’t
I didn't give much thought to Z-One for a few years, largely because a lot of the discussion around him for a while was just dominated by the whole "Was Z-One meant to be an evil future Yusei" argument that I've... never really had a horse in the race for.
With time though, I've become a convert and I'd now comfortably put Z-One in my top 3 final boss list alongside Yubel and Ai. I love what he represents as a threat, his backstory is super fucked up and tragic, and his duel with Yusei is just a pinnacle of spectacle with them flying in and around Neo Domino as the Cradle comes closer and closer. I love that he was born from a need to just try and save everyone, even sacrificing his very identity and sense of self to try and save the world, only to be let down and fail in an ugly, horrific manner that leaves him a broken old man.
It's also great that mechanically, Zone's deck feels appropriately alien by the standards of that era of Yugioh. He casually summons out Level 10 monsters, he's playing literal hand-traps, and the Timelords mechanically fit their theme well. "Damaged me? No you didn't, I'm back at 4K. Summon a bunch of monsters? I'm resetting the board state and sending them to hand." His deck denies his opponent the chance to even exist against the Timelords, and that's sick.
It also must be stressed that his themes are so good. His anime theme has a wide range to represent the full duel but it's a non-stop banger throughout, and his Duel Links theme re-contextualizes him into a tragic figure with a much more lonely and ethereal theme that also, because Duel Links music is GOATed like that, calls back to Yusei's theme to both show that Z-One views his actions as heroic and to show the influence Yusei has had on him.
Would Evil Yusei have been neat? Maybe, but I'm perfectly happy with what we got for Z-One.
He's the source of the world's most ugly kin drama, who can hate that?
What I like about their appearance
That weird flying conch shell that makes him look like a magatama... his massive grabby claws for his cards, the shattered mask showing Yusei's old, weathered face, it's all so good.
I also love that if you look at Z-One's cosplay look as Yusei in the future clips, he gets stuff wrong! Yusei's orange circles are made squares, the shirt has a different design, the bike has different stripes, it's a bunch of small touches that add up to create a very good Uncanny Valley effect!
Do I prefer their dub names or original names?
Same in both!
Vocally this is such a hard pick, because I legit thing both performances in dub and sub are perfect 10/10s... with the caveat of the dub getting Duel Links. Hideo Ishikawa really does capture how old and desolate Z-One is, barely expressing emotion for the majority of his screentime- and what little he does express is usually buried underneath a vocal filter that strips away his humanity. It's only when Yusei cracks his face-plate and shows the man under the mask that Ishikawa begins to get more expressive (and shows in his own way that even a God can bleed), it's a good touch for the performance.
Marc Thompson though, is a legend. And his turn as Z-One is one of his best performances in my opinion alongside Astral in Zexal and his audiobooks as Thrawn in Star Wars. He's a bit more expressive than Ishikawa, a little bit more sadistic and enjoying himself. I don't know why Marc decided to purr and chuckle for half of his lines but I'm not complaining, I assure you dear viewer I was Very Normal about the voicelines.
I may just give it to Marc though purely for how in Duel Links, Z-One has summoning chants for Yusei's ace dragons so I got to hear this old man shout LET'S REV IT UP and that made my day. Both are so good though.
OTP
See the above for Zoneporia, but I'll add that I love imagining Z-One and Yusei in a room together with Z-One engaging in some friendly psychological mind warfare. :)
NOTP
N/A
OT3
See above, but again, future old man polycule is very cute.
Favourite card they use
I love all the Timelords, but I'm especially fond of Michion and Sephylon! They're such freaky little creatures.
Favourite moment they were in
His entire duel with Yusei is just a fantastic final boss battle all around (Quasar summon lives rent-free in my mind alongside Z-One whipping out the literal Tree of Life to summon Sephylon), but I think my favorite singular moment is when he lets Aporia stake everything on hope only to casually show how much he was holding back when he summons Lazion to ruin Aporia's plan and dares him to draw Afterglow again, using his crushing victory against Aporia to try and demoralize Team 5D's. Absolutely fantastic scene-setter for Z-One.
Least favourite moment
I don't think I have one for Z-One? Beyond that his stuff just wasn't dubbed, I guess.
Would I fuck, marry or kill them
I can fix him. :)
Tumblr media
(cannot find a Z-One gif to save my life so here's Shooting Quasar Dragon)
