I do think it's interesting how canon does not present lich!Emmrich as being emotionally detached or doomed to unhappines.

He's grieving Manfred, yes.

But we get a whole lot more about how he's experiencing the world in a whole new way and finds it fascinating.

Then there's the bits about getting to know the other liches. When he brings them up in banter, they don't sound like ominous callous beings at all. They call him "Young Volkarin" and tell him not to rush getting settled in.

Like, I don't actually think Emmrich is going to be lonely. I don't think he's going to become cruel. He has a whole community to interact with in the Necropolis. Spirits. Other liches. Hezenkoss. Heck, Harding might be immortal even.

I think he's gonna be just fine.

I can't decide if I wanna make a long textpost about my au Warioware:Diverged, or wait until I have some of the character refs done to talk about it... but either way I NEED to talk about it I'm so unwell about my au, it's all I ever think about.

I have several multi-chapter fanfics just for the au and an entire comic series planned just for it. I love it so much...

On the side I've been attempting to bullet point basic info for Wario's backstory in it and I already have SEVERAL LONG PARAGRAPHS. AND I'M ONLY AT THEM BEING 18 IN IT ATM. WARIO IN THE AU IS CURRENTLY 38

And that's not even counting backstories like Dr. Crygor or Orbulon, who have even longer and more complex stories since they're technically older than Wario, I need more explanation for how their species/cybernetics work and they both existed in societies for a while that had a lot of events happening. (For Orbulon, he was part of his planet's empire for 80% of his life and Crygor unknowingly worked for a sketchy science facility that destroyed his life & sanity 👍) - and Wario kinda just... faffed around treasure hunting for a while LMAO. Also quite a bit of Wario's backstory is just the Mario games & I don't really need to regurgitate the plots of them

Wario and Waluigi are technically the main protags, but I feel like at this point Crygor & Orbulon are secondary protagonists just because of how much work I have put into them but also how they drive the plot alongside Wario.
