I’m gonna list my favorite underrated marauders era dynamics cause I don’t think people talk about them enough and I want people to join me in my insanity (this is a long ass post by the way. So either you’re welcome! or I’m sorry😖 Depends on how much you like reading overly specific headcanons I guess)

1. Evan and James

I think that James has a really chill energy around the right people, and Evan is just really calm (and slightly apathetic) all the time so they get along really well. It’s a very quiet friendship and they hang out when they’re too tired to be around anyone else. It’s built off of a mutual understanding that the other needs to unwind just as much as they do. I think half the time they “hang out” by just napping together.

I also think they’re both very prone to doing dumb things “for the aesthetic” so that’s very present in their friendship. This is kind of random but I also imagine them skateboarding and probably also smoking a lot of weed together. They’ve shotgunned.

2. Marlene and Regulus

I don’t think they liked eachother at first, mostly because Marlene was Regulus’ friend’s girlfriend so he was obligated to dislike her, and because Regulus was Sirius’ uptight brother who hated Marlene for no reason so she was obligated to dislike him. I think regulus first started warming up to Marlene because she reminded him a lot of both Sirius and James. She had their energy and ferocity mixed with their loyalty and kindness that made Regulus helplessly fond of her. Obviously he appreciates Marlene as her own person though.

They’re peak gay and lesbian solidarity (along with Sirius and Mary. More on that later) Marlene picks outfits for regulus because he cannot dress, Regulus does Marlene’s hair because she fried it to a crisp straightening it. I also think he does her makeup because he likes painting and he views it as sort of the same thing, just a different canvas. Marlene drags regulus to Gryffindor parties to “have some fun, damnit” and Regulus drags Marlene to the library because she “has a natural intelligence which many people would kill for” Marlene protects him with her LIFE because he’s just a tiny baby in her mind and she won’t let a SOUL be unkind to him. Regulus doesn’t say it but he would kill for her without a second thought.

3. Barty and Marlene

These two would be so chaotic. Marlene bought Barty his first eyeliner and Barty buys her fancy lighters. They go to parties for houses neither of them are even in purely to get wasted together. They’ve also probably gotten into a fistfight and then hugged like 5 seconds after.

They have matching leather jackets and probably ass tats. And hot pink thongs. Barty loves asking her why she’s dating “a loser like Dorcas” and Marlene describes in very specific detail how good Dorcas is in bed. When Barty came out as gay, Marlene gave him step by step instructions on how to give a blowjob. Also they both have crazy daddy issues which they bond over. They sneak into muggle bars together and then stumble back to Hogwarts drunk on the sidewalk, shouting song lyrics and laughing manically. Also they’ve gone axe throwing together.

4. Pandora and James

Two of the happiest people you’ll ever meet. James will believe literally anything you tell him and Pandora is a huge conspiracy theorist. Pandora could go on hour long rants about how Dumbledore is secretly a lizard and James would be enthusiastically nodding along, fully believing her.

They both have Regulus in common (Pandora basically being his platonic soulmate and James his romantic) so I imagine they would talk about him a lot. Mostly they would make fun of him but he doesn’t need to know that. They’re huge gossipers in general though. James visits the ravenclaw common room to hear about all of the ravenclaw drama from Pandora. Also I imagine them making flower crowns together (though I don’t think James would be very good at it)

5. Sirius and Mary

I know they were pretty popular for a while when atyd was at its peak, but I don’t see that much of them anymore. They’re both total drama queens and love planning outfits together. They paint each other’s nails and talk shit for hours. I imagine that they have a lot of shared traits, but specifically bad ones. They’re both selfish and short tempered, so they get each other in ways no one else really does. They’re always on each other’s side. I also do imagine they dated when they were in their denial eras, but now they just kind of laugh about it. Sirius calls Mary his “favorite ex girlfriend” and Mary makes constant jokes about running away from Hogwarts with Sirius and starting a new life. They’re also both insanely hot. Prettiest people you’ll ever meet.

they are always sunburned somehow, mostly pandora and evan with their lighter skin, but also james on his ears and nose

pandora always wearing braids, her hair long and wavy blonde, bleached by the sun. Evan and James learning how to braid her hair at six.

if pandora dances and invite you, you go. James and her were made to dance, Evan is their musician, but he also dances with them.

evan and james were each other first kisses. stand on it.

pandora and her mother sing wonderfully, santiago knows how to play many instruments and teach evan, james and felix that.

fleamont and santiago built the kids a tree house, it is their favourite place, even growing up they go there.

euphemia is their teacher in the kitchen, they all love to stay there and help her cook. Any of them can stand food without a strong flavor.

Barty: “who’s this Gryffindor freak who’s all smiley all the time?” *sees James helping Pandora and Mary get away from a touchy stranger* “well ig his smile ain’t bad so why not show it off ig?”
