The similarities and differences of both Joe’s lives.

It’s so interesting how the more we spend time in New Joe’s life, the more we can see how his life was so close to Joe, but yet so different.

Joe had no family and was working as a stand in for a famous actor. He is kind and generous. He just wanted to be loved. Unfortunately, for him, he fell for a rich conceited man, called Ming, who used his, at first, because he looked a lot like his crush, Tong. When Joe learned about it, he wanted to show Ming he could do anything Tong can do and he got into an accident, while trying to do it. Since this time, Ming has been looking for him because he couldn’t accept Joe’s death.

New Joe has just his mother. He was a naughty man who was working as a model in the entertainment industry. He was dating this aspiring actor called Tharn who used him to advance his career and it triggered an argument between New Joe and his mom. As a result, he got into an accident and ended up in a coma for two years. During this time, his lover never came to him. Only his mother came to him, even ended up in debts to make sure he would be cared for properly.

When you read it this way, it seems they have nothing in common, except how they both ended up in an accident because of their lovers. However, I still think they are linked so much more than what we knows. Joe is also feeling this connection. Through New Joe’s body, he got a family and a new chapter of his life. He can make sure New Joe doesn’t go back with Tharn and he can learn the truth about his previous lover. He may feel like life is stuck in a loop where he just have to repeat the same mistakes, but I think he can’t see the small changes happening. Joe is giving New Joe the possibility to mend his relationship with his mother and New Joe is offering Joe a chance to start again anew.

In my view, both Joe are helping one another. It would feel more real if New Joe had the chance to talk to Joe, but the series isn’t going deep into the “supernatural” aspect of transmigration, so this is just my take on the story.
