I was looking more into the magazine mentioned in this post and I found something interesting.
Tumblr media
One of the issues of the magazine has a section listing the various enemies that resemble major characters from throughout the series, such as Batamon and Galacta Knight. There's not really any new information in the Kirby and Meta Knight parts, just a list of enemies and a short description for each. But then...
Tumblr media
Yes, the question of whether Ado and Adeleine are the same person rears its ugly head once again. The main text of the section still isn't anything noteworthy, just saying that both characters share a lot of similarities. The real juicy bit comes from the caption under the picture.
Tumblr media
This says, "Could it be that [Adeleine] becomes Ado when she's controlled by Dark Matter!?"
Now, this is not the most logical theory. It is not the most sensible theory. It is almost certainly not what the original intent of the character was and it's coming from a source of extremely dubious authority. But man, I think this is hands-down the funniest answer to the Ado/Adeleine debacle there is.
So yeah, I'm ride-or-die for this. Ado is Adeleine's evil alter ego that comes out when she's possessed. You can tell she's messed-up because she dropped the last syllable of her name! Dear god! I'm expecting to see fanart, fanfics, fan-whatevers allll about this highly important piece of Kirby lore soon.
(Bonus thing: A different page of this same section expresses uncertainty as to whether Zero-Two is connected to Dark Matter. This is once again extremely funny and part of me wants it to be true. Imagine Kirby and the gang rolling up to Dark Star like "We'll fight Dark Matter as many times as it takes!" and Zero-Two's just like "woah woah woah do not lump me in with those guys")

I have a headcanon that Uzi is secretly a diehard Kirby fan and knows all the ins and outs of the lore and N is the first person she's ever been able to rant about it to without ruining her whole edgy goth persona.
He doesn't really get most of it but he's more than happy to just let her talk about her special interests.

A redraw of Kirby's first moments. I makes me so sad that it has never been shown if Kirby has any parents... 😥😥😥

META KNIGHT
Tumblr media
Well, Kirby is one of my favourite franchises, the Lore, the characters, the games, the music... I like everything!
After completing Kirby star allies another time and the SoulMelter (I tried the SM EX and is a hell) I can say that Meta Knight is one of my favourite characters from Kirby!
My favourite character is probably void termina, but meta Knight can easily be my second favourite character!
Drawing process
One of my best drawings :')

I’ve found out so much from translated Twitter posts and art books. Apparently it’s confirmed DMK’s scar is from his fight with Meta Knight? And that Magolor doesn’t have a mirror world version?
Is there anything else I’ve missed???? I have to know. Guys give me your Kirby fun facts

I used to be one of those guys when I first joined the Kirby fandom, but everytime I hear a discussion of the series writing that starts with "So the Lore is InSaNe-" and not like, "Kirby has a fun writing style that takes advantage of its cute exterior to tell cool stories that reward player's curiosity and leave lots of room for imagination-" I cringe so goddamn hard.
I kinda just hate that people approach things that encourage investment when they don't expect it as inherently absurd. Like it is fun to joke about how absurd Kirby lore can be, but it really often comes with an air of disrespect or exhaustion rather than like, appreciation that these games are made by people who want to tell interesting stories when they could easily make as much money just making polished enough fluffy kiddy platformers. And when it's not met with exhaustion, it's met with - like I said before - that tone that it's stupid for a series like this TO have devs who care about writing stuff for it. Which is a whole other thing about people not respecting things made to appeal to kiddie aesthetic or tone.
Maybe the state of low-stakes YouTube video essays just blows cause people play up ignorance and disbelief for engagement, but like I STG I hear people use this tone for like actual narrative based games sometimes. Some people don't like... appreciate when a game is made by people who care a shitton in ways that aren't direct gameplay feedback. And they especially don't appreciate it when it comes from something with any sense of tonal dissonance intentional or not.
Anyways, I love games made by insane people. I love games made by teams who feel like they wanna make something work or say something so bad. I love that energy, especially when invested into something that could easily rest on its laurels or which obviously won't be taken seriously. I love this in a lot of classic campy 2000s games, I love this in insanely niche yet passionate fanworks, and I love it in the Kirby series and its writing. Can we please stop talking about it like it's an annoyance or complete joke?

My Kirby headcanon: Moley either 1, transitioned and then detransitioned somewhere between 2006 and 2011, or 2, has always been genderfluid.

Kirby Talked In Kirby's Adventure
So the little pink pudge ball we all know and love has actual spoken a few times.
So in the manual of Kirby's Adventure on page 8 Kirby has an entire verbal conversation with King Dedede. With Kirby asking questions to Dedede and Dedede in turn responds to him. So yeah.

Okay so…
It’s one thing to hear from fans about how dark the lore is in a series.
Its a WHOLE OTHER thing to get into the series and realize the fans weren’t exaggerating
So anyways I’ve been learning about Kirby Lore-

My favorite part about the Kirby series is that the sentence "Kirby once prevented a world war" is considered a small and ultimately meaningless part of the lore that is almost always glossed over momentarily and then forgotten about.

“the basic plot of kirby games should be explained” “putting lore in pause screens and gatcha mechanics is a bad idea” “kirby lore shouldn’t be hidden in fucking miiverse Q&As and switch news posts” actually kirby lore is not obscure enough. kumazaki should write the lore of the next kirby game in his diary and scatter the pages across japan. to even begin to understand kirby lore you should have to solve his riddles three

Sooooo.... Kirby right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok, for context, a while ago I had an idea to reimagine Kirby's ENTIRE story in a comic format with some elements from the anime mixed in (especially after seeing @thewinterraven's comic, it's really good, go read it!) and honestly, I'd just like to reimagine the history of the games in an interesting way, I think Kirby's lore is super intriguing and cool, and Kirby is one of those cozy franchises with fun, likable characters and cool but simple stories. I don't know, I just want to do it for fun and because I like Kirby. So yeah, I'm working on a comic reimagining the Kirby universe in a narrative way, I just hope this is a good idea. TwT
Also, no one actually asked me this question, this is just a visualization of my subconscious asking me this (I think?)

Hot take
Kirby lore is great, but has SO MUCH lost potential
Don't you see the amount of amazing content that could be taken in depth thanks to the lore it has? The most we see of Kirby Lore being utilized in more games than the one it was introduced in is the Dark Matter Trilogy and mere call backs from other games that follow.
Then comes the part where HAL brings more convoluting lore like what we know of the Magolor epilogue, and HAL just doesn't do anything else with it. But I think this is shown better with FL, PR and TD. To this day, Star Allies is the one most discussed regarding Kirby Lore, not only because of Void Termina but also because HAL ACTUALLY made some exposition of Kirby Lore like Hyness' speech and such. Not everyone will be able to see it but at least it's not subtext anymore, just text. Thing that doesn't get seen basically at all with the other games I mentioned
I get the "Use subtext for your story", but you overuse it and you get the most vague lore humanity has ever seen. Sure, in some games and shows it works in their favor thanks to the theming of those stories but Kirby never struck me as one of those, at least in my opinion.
Maybe this is why many artists and writers have made an insane amount of AUs for Kirby trying to give more lore with actual dialogue - compare the amount of exposition heavy AUs Kirby has with the amount of exposition heavy AUs franchises like Mario, Metroid or Zelda have. See the difference?
My point is, Kirby should REALLY do more with its lore instead of leaving some of the most intriguing topics I've seen stagnating and catching dust.
