Have you tried Woobles? I haven’t, and likely never will. Here’s why:

🧶 Generic patterns and instructions with similar or better FREE versions online

🧶 Price of one kit = multiple projects’ worth of material

🧶 The “pre-started yarn” lends more to instant gratification than to learning a vital technique that helps you grow BEYOND Woobles. Does the kit include instructions and alternatives for magic circles? Also, how does the company “pre-start” the yarn in bulk? Is it done by hand, and if so, by whom?

Woobles’ appeal is convenience. I’d personally only recommend them as gifts, or for noncrocheters to test the craft without much commitment. That isn’t to say there aren’t people who appreciate these kits; however, I generally wouldn’t recommend Woobles for beginners greatly interested in pursuing crochet further, or as practice for crocheters above beginner level.

This is my opinion and is not meant to disparage the creators, employees, or customers of Woobles. I’m happy for every crocheter, old and new, and would love to hear about your experience!! At the end of the day, it’s about self satisfaction - if you are crafting happily and responsibly, then Wooble on, my friend.

#someone bought me one of the micheal’s crochet kits bc i wanted to see whether they were decent #bc $10 isn’t terrible . so peas :)#<- the kit does suck but better bang for your buck than the $30 for woobles #if you want to learn to crochet i can give much better and cheaper advice than that

#yes these are from a woobles pattern. I can't recommend them based on price but I really did learn a lot from the kits I bought #I'm currently working on a blanket which. I made the pattern for myself :3 #I won't be done for a while though because I have to buy $24 worth of yarn to finish it :(#but the little white pig was pretty cheap in terms of materials. cost maybe $1 and that's a really high estimate #also I just ordered some safety eyes because I'm not a fan of how the embroidered ones look. I thought the little Xs would be cute #but they just look dead. um.#but it was just for practice anyway. when I start selling stuff I'm gonna use only my own patterns #maybe I'll sell the patterns I make too? but maybe not. I will if people are interested I guess but I don't want that to be the basis of my #business #like I want to crochet little trinkets not sell patterns #I might sell patterns of bigger stuff I make though? like the things that take several hours to make

i haaaateeee getting gifts so much all it ever does is reveal how little the people who "love" me know me or even just listen to what i tell them

#every year my mom MAKES me make a christmas list and then proceeds to buy nothing off of it #this year and last she even got something i specifically said i didnt like #we were discussing learning knit v crochet and i said i didnt like the look of crochet... guess what i got! learn to crochet kit :)#my friend got me a valentines gift which was so sweet and thoughful but then it turned out to be a strawberry donut #shes known me for over 5 years and i have repeated that i dont like fruits much and only ever get chocolate or other flavours when were out #and its so frustrating because i could easily choose a dessert shed like because i remember. she loves matcha and i literally #remember the exact bakery that she likes #like WHY!!!!
