BACKSTORY

attended law school to become a prosecutor with his childhood friend, vowing to punish the corrupt, side-by-side. fair and square, as it should be (and rarely is).

...but the system's a dumpster fire, actually! none of his mentors cared if a defendant was innocent-- all that mattered was adding another win to their record. he'd never make a difference in a place like that. hell, he couldn't even stomach being near them!

so he left, quit altogether until circumstances had him taking up a different badge, this time gunning to defend. he's been going at it ever since.

with a strong sense of justice, ofc! he fights for the underdogs in society, even if it means pushing the law to its limits.

yes, his fancifully-named firm, Brave Vesperia(TM), was run by a preteen in this AU, too. to be fair, yuri was the only attorney there; the others employees just did... whatever.

gained notoriety after exposing some high-profile criminals (through questionably-legal means, mayhaps), but the fame drove him up the wall. 'sides, it was his childhood-friend-turned-rival that put them behind bars in the end, without the need for dirty tactics...

still knows how to swing a sword, just at a hobbyist's level! can and WILL throw hands, though, so don't try him. or do it, baby, he knows the law.

repede was training to be a K-9 unit before yuri left the prosecutor's office. don't worry-- they keep him in the defendant's lobby during trials (99% of the time; he may have been on the witness stand once or twice).

unaware of his own AU shenanigans, but he has a gut feeling. the lawyer senses are tingling...

SPRITE ANIMATIONS

idle/speaking - there's a hint of an easy smirk, a hand at his hip. with the amount of nonchalance on display, you'd think he has this case in the bag (as if...).

thinking - fingers brought to his chin, eyes shut. he never tries to think too hard if he can help it, so there's only the slightest of forehead wrinkles.

exasperated - get on his nerves and earn a show of crossed arms, a huff, and an unimpressed eyeroll. a look that reads: "waste any more of our time and i'll show you a real penalty."

taunting - oop, he's propped against his desk, chin resting on his palm amidst a wolfish, verbal onslaught. to some, the flippancy is an insult all its own.

sweating - though cool under pressure, yuri can't hide the slight jolt backwards, his brow furrowed with a squiggly frown to match. but when things get really bad...

angry - slam! his fist hits the desk, grit teeth restraining a nasty retort on the tip of his tongue (too bad he can't afford the penalty).

objection! - he does this a lot, if only to get under the prosecution's skin-- flinging fingers and all. it's the closest he'll ever get to unsheathing a sword in battle!

The Bottle

Argo had been undercover at camp for a few weeks, and it was taking a mental toll on him. He was just sort of..laying around places- he'd stopped purring altogether; which was a bad sign for him.

Even kids who didn't know Argo was human- who thought he was just some cat, were getting concerned.

Argo felt bad- the lying. Everything. Everything he'd done. So.. he went to Chiron. He begged to be punished- killed for all he'd done.

But then he was handed a CHB shirt and a checklist of people to apologize to.

And he did it in one day. It was.. sort of amazing. He gave a heartfelt speech to everyone- and now he's just.. sitting in his cabin, staring.

Let's just say, some of his apologies didn't go well, and someone handed him a bottle of Lethe water and told him to fuck off.

Argo is holding the bottle, twisting it between his fingers.

When you open the door- he crushes the small glass bottle and the Lethe water seeps into his skin.

"Fuck fuck fuck-" He mutters, his form starting to flicker.

While rescuing a boy from weirdo dealers, Eraserhead is captured and placed with 10 other people who are going to be sold. Present Mic and a team of heroes plan to save the victims. But there is much more to save than it seems.

foh’s comment: One of the earliest stories I happen to read. I couldn't get through it the first time because it was too heavy for me. At the time I started reading, I didn't even know who Oboro is. Brilliant in its beauty and description of Present Mic’s character. This fic for those who are not afraid to break a heart and put it back together piece by piece.

foh’s comment: A very detailed and truly heart-breaking story about two friends going through the grief of losing their best friend. Depicts moments of Yamada Hizashi’s life trying to cope with loss, while making an effort to remain his and Aizawa’s friendship. I cried a lot and was devastated. It’s not easy to read but it worth its happy ending.

And the two angsty boys will be sweet and romantic and will be together by the end. A MAJOR crossover with Doctor Who. One of the best stories I've ever read! Emotional, beautiful, very cleverly constructed. The Doctor is just awesome bean.

foh’s comment: This isn’t really Erasermic romance story but it studies their relationship on the deep level, discovering their lives after losing Oboro. No more words, it’s very sad, but it’s hopeful.

Tattletale and The Path We Chose by LipstickVenom AU! Present Mic is Vigilante, Angst and Action | sum. ~250k words

foh’s comment: Initially I wanted to list them separately, but calling them series seemed wrong. They flow smoothly into each other, if the author had not chosen to separate them, it would have been a full-fledged big story of 250k+ words.

In my opinion, another underrated work on these two. A very plausible explanation of the relationship. Slow-burn, but not so slow to  get bored. I love this work for the nakedness of feelings, for the plausibility of emotion. Plot is driving and interesting to catch on, so – go on!

foh’s comment: Very beautiful and relatively fresh story! In this story, Yamada and Aizawa are not heroes, but ordinary people trying to find salvation in a small village and live a quiet peaceful life. I repeat, everything in this fanfic is beautiful: from the description of the nature and town to the plot. Just read it!

I've gotten a little sick and tired of reading stories where people shit on nico for what he did in tlo. like, sure, should he have tricked percy into meeting with his dad? of course not. but I'd like to put it in perspective for you:

for starters, as I've seen some people argue, nico was twelve (12) years old. a child. percy did a whole bunch of dumb shit at 12, annabeth did a whole bunch of dumb shit at 12, but when nico does something dumb--which, in actuality, is him falling for the manipulation of his father, someone you can't really blame him for trusting--people get mad at him for it. but I'm not here to bring this age-old argument up. I'm here to put things into perspective.

as I said, nico was 12 when he did this. it was early August of 2009. nico and Bianca were, presumably, pulled out of the casino in August of 2007 so they could start attending Westover High. since nico's birthday is at the end of January, he's around 10 1/2 when they're pulled out, and he's now around 12 1/2 when the event happens. before they were put in the casino, nico and Bianca were dipped in the river Lethe. the same river that souls are bathed in when before they're reborn so they don't remember anything. they then spent a "month" in the casino with no memories of anything and then were pulled out to go to school.

nico does not remember the first ~10 years of his life. he's 12. he does not remember 83.33% of his life, doesn't know his mother's name, doesn't know where he was born, his childhood, etc. amnesiacs, depending on the severity (and nico's is pretty fucking severe), are generally desperate to remember their pasts; and quite a lot of the time, amnesiacs are grown fucking adults. nico is 12, a child, hasn't even hit puberty yet, and doesn't remember 83% of his life. of course he's willing to do anything to get even a grain of rice containing a singular fact about his past, he's desperate! wouldn't you be, too? if you could only remember the last two years of your life and had no living family, no friends, and were outcasted by those who were supposed to take care of you bc of your father? especially after 2 years (the same two years, mind you, that were all he could remember) of sleeping rough? and one of those years spent being manipulated by a vengeful, old ghost?

I rest my case, your honor.

you were talking by what I get about not getting lengthy comments on the tsc fiction, but were you luckier in the acotar ones?

I was! For starters, ACoTaR is a more active fandom, and then you have to take into account the fact that I chose to write an 11k words long chapter and voice some controversial ideas, which meant a looot of comments 🤣

Taranis Lacus - eldest son of Tatenen and Lethe - has mostly flown under the radar, as has his partner, Aristaeus, who'd worked as a servant for Osanyin and Hestia Ardeat. But they're why I mentioned that Bennu Murex had finally found an unpartnered gay guy - because these two had been committed since their early teens. Here they finally get to tie the knot.

Since neither of them are fae, plantsims, or knowledge sims, they don't have to worry about unexpected kids (yet) and it's winter, so their garden doesn't really need work. They spent the rotation quietly - doting on their puppy, pursuing hobbies, working on their careers. Taranis is an athlete (maybe a chariot racer or gladiator - in-game he's reached the max he's allowed as a plebeian, level 4, Starter) and Aristaeus is an entertainer.

Taranis is writing a mildly trashy saga about gladiators in love.

Aristaeus spend a lot of time outside looking at the stars. He's heard the stories about how that gets people taken by the fae, of course, and he really doesn't want that, but he does like starwatching, and having a baby wouldn't be so bad...

Sure, he wasn't necessarily banned.. but whenever he went back; bad things happened (see Lethe fig. 1 and Lethe fig. 2). But.. Rose will be 18 soon! Then they'll both be out of camp, and things will be awesome.

lethe. shepard doesn't know much about it — he generally leaves the navigating to the navigators, the ones best equipped for the job. it's a tall order, to be sure. to monitor the state of the normandy's surroundings constantly from planet to planet and as they drift in between; to chart their course through the mass relays and through systems; to keep informed of the meteorology and of any and all potential hazards and abnormalities in destination environment, and to then relay the relevant information to joker and to shepard alike ... really, shepard only really tells them where to chart the course.

pressly's absence is a considerable loss for the old crew and for shepard, who ( somehow, weeks later. he didn't have any idea he's grown so softhearted until now ) can't quite manage to pass by the CIC without expecting to bump into the man. it appears to be a blow only to morale and sentiment, however — he finds himself mildly stunned to find that the majority of pressly's and his people's job have been considerably minimised by EDI's presence.

" before long, they'll figure out how to replace me with you, " he grumbles to EDI as he swipes down the neatly condensed reports on his datapad. everything he needs is there. basic information on the colony they're headed for, recent non-private transmissions to and from relevant colonies nearby, geographical snags and obstacles that might cause the hammerhead some difficulties ... all neatly gathered and presented to him in easy to consume, shepard-friendly ( as she and joker seem to have taken to calling it; apparently his requests for information actually usable to him are amusing to them ) format.

EDI's reply — ' perhaps once i finally have enough data to fully assimilate your personality, shepard ' — bordering smugness, if she were capable of it, does not help. nor does the ' ... that was a joke, ' that follows.

that aside — he'll worry about the ai mutiny on his hands later — lethe. the illusive man had kept busy while waiting for shepard to be revived, clearly, judging from the lengthy list of not-strictly-necessary places of interest he's provided the normandy crew. the planet's commandeered and run by notably one krogan, who has evidently found an impressive amount of capital in mining, gambling, alcohol, and entertainment. not a bad operation. the mining shepard can see the draw of for cerberus. but why the illusive man has any interest in the colony they've set course for is beyond shepard; the supplemented information that EDI's provided indicates that it's interspecies. not what shepard expected. but this particular colony and coordinates are attached to a contact: an informant. he figures cerberus can find no better informant elsewhere ( read: amongst more humans ) on lethe.

as long as they're in the thorne system, they might as well stop by.

" EDI. can you patch me through to kristen durus? " he makes the request when they've broken through the atmosphere, setting down the datapad. EDI took the initiative to make contact before their flight to lethe, so they should be expected.  " durus — this is commander shepard of the normandy. we're approaching the colony. we'll be coming in on a shuttle, ETA, twenty minutes. can you set a rendezvous point? over. "

for starters, i dont feel like going into a 20-minute explanation of the worldbuilding or story or whatever, this is just gonna be a compilation of some slight details and facts about them, but you should have some context!!

eris [the archer] and mercury/lethe [the elf eared one] are twins. the hidden and forgotten deities of their world choose a person to bless with a superhuman ability, though this only occurs once a millennium to avoid recognition. see, the point of these deities is to secretly oversee the progression of human life, but humans arent supposed to know of their existence. a hundred years ago, an ancient and noble ancestor of the twins was blessed with the power to heal wounds in ways professional medics can only dream of. everh child of the family inherited this gift, including the twins. though strangely, mercury seems to not harness the power to heal. this is a great disappointment to their father, but secret is, mercury has another gift. beyond their family's imagination.

now, as for (head)canons!!

in the distant future, long after their deaths, mercury and eris will be remembered as nothing but a joined set. never one without the other. intertwined. some legends and paintings portray them as joint twins, quite literally joined at the hip. others see them as the sun and moon, circling each other in an eternal dance. but most see them as the personification of light and dark (yin and yang if you will), one cannot exist without the other, when one is near the other is never far

the mark eris has on her shoulder is a tattoo meant to symbolize one who was perfected the art of healing. its a respected symbol in their family, and will soon be widely known among the residents of their little town. akin to aang's arrows in atla

mercury's mark, however, is no tattoo. its a birthmark. though it looks similar to the mark of the healer, its strikingly different. look at it for too long and youll get lost in it. mercury thinks it to be a curse. no one knows its origins or what it represents (but i do. because im just awesome like that)

mercury is a visual artist. they draw sketches of things they love or find inspiring. including but not limited to:

their sister the great outdoors bodies of water deer the simplicity of town solar eclipses (which are quite common here)

eris is the child prodigy and the favorite child, yes, but shes also the token troublemaker. thiugh no one ever believes shes the creator of chaos, and mercury is quick to stand up for their sister (also because mercury is the executioner of their crimes, since eris is surprisingly clumsy for an archer)

mercury is almost always climbing trees

eris has a profound hatres of vegetables

the twins are never seen without each other (which will lead to their characterization as an divinely inseperable pair in the future). when one goes to the market alone, theyre always asked "where's the other one?"

they were mostly raised by caring locals

their mother died giving birth

eris is always bright-eyed in a way that makes you expect both trouble and wit

they go swimming so often their fingers constantly have signs of the little wrinkles

their friend miles taught them sworfighting

i think thats all i can think up right now without spoiling too much, i might add on when i have more written, but enjoy these for now. this post probably will get little to no attention, but i dont care, i love my twins.

Boss Battle! Anon

Today, I bring a small chunk of the Pokemon au! It's still a work in progress, so apologies if some stuff doesn't make sense. I'm mostly trying to lay out the bones and some flesh right now.

Y/n - Fighting Gym Leader

Main Team: Infernape, Gallade, Hitmonchan, Crabominable, Pangoro, Annilhilape

Other Pokemon: Lucario, Medicham, Kommo-o, Rapidash, Mudsdale, Beedrill, Spearow

Info: A Fighting Type Gym leader who specializes in boxing. Is probably the last gym you face before the Elite Four. Despite having an Infernape, Ralts was his starter. Wants to make the gym to be double battle oriented so he and Hypnos can run it together, just like his Pa and father did when they ran it.

Hypnos - Sleep Themed Trainer

Main Team: Cresselia, Jigglypuff, Musharna, Abra, Snorlax, Komala

Other Pokemon: Drowsee, Piloswine, Darkrai, Morelull

Info: Hypnos family often gain the favor of legendary pokemon, he was (un)fortunate to gain the favor of two. One, however, prefers to stay in its pokeball rather than interact. He's also supposed to be training to take over Thanatos gym, as Thanatos will be joining the Elite Four once Charon retires. Only really battles when teamed up with Y/n or training with his siblings. He prefers to study his Pokedex.

Miscellaneous Ideas:

The first champion of the region was Nyx, then Hades, and now Zeus.

Elite Four: Charon, Achilles, Asterius and Theseus (double battle), and I haven't decided on the last member, but I'm feeling either Athena or Hades.

Achilles team is based around Steel types. (With a few water Pokemon being gifted to him from his mother.)

Patroclus was a gym leader but has since retired. Can't decide between making him a Dragon, Rock, or Grass gym leader. (Hell might be basic and just make him a Water type gym since he was by the river Lethe for so long. Would make for a good gym theme.) He still has plenty of dogs in this au, Stoutland, Houndoom, Houndstone, Boltund, and their previous evolutions, you name it.

Thanatos and Charon are Ghost type specialists.

Thanatos has a Lunala he secretly pampers.

Charon has a Giratina. (That he prefers not to battle with, the poor thing is so anxious not being in its void.)

Nyx focuses on Dark types, and it's rumored that she has a Yveltal on her team.

Chaos is the professor, with Nyx eventually joining them as their assistant. (And possibly Hypnos)

Chaos has an Arceus.

And yeah! Those are my silly little pokemon thoughts so far. Still needs a lot of work, but I figured I could share what I have so as I work on team ideas and story plots. Hope you enjoy it! (Also, sorry for any spelling errors, lmao)

I love this! I actually had my own idea with Pokémon au and we actually picked a lot of the same Pokémons for Y/N and Hypnos. ^-^

I adore that Y/n’s starter Pokémon was a wee Ralts! They regularly appeared to cheerful people I believe. So i would love to know the story behind their meeting. (Was the ralts grumpy as Y/N and that why they bonded? Bc that would be hilarious, two grumpy peas in a pod.)

all his Pokémons are such a good fit for him btw.

silly hc i had for my au but I always like the idea that his powerful Pokémon are scary and standoffish to everyone else but become total obedient sweethearts for Hypnos.

Also them being a duo would be extremely difficult to defeat with Hypnos putting foes to sleep and Y/n knocking them out before the player could wake them up.

Another hc I had for my au that Y/n would train his Pokémon to maximize their critical hits and one shot kills.

The fact that he wants to make his gym double battle with Hypnos is basically a marriage proposal lol but I get the vibes that maybe they not quiet together yet? Or dating but neither had admit they fallen in love?

i can just see y/n asking Hypnos about what he thought about decor for the gym, trying get stuff that Hypnos likes and hypnos being totally oblivious.

I love how you set up Hypnos’ team btw! And I am def nosey about whoever that Pokémon is.

I can just see Hypnos’ team all napping together in a big cuddle pile. It is so adorable.

a few of Y/N’s Pokémon had definitely wormed in their way into that pile btw.

I like your set up for the Elite Four btw! Athena would be awesome and would well as the boss before Zeus since she is his golden child.

love Achilles’ type and fits him really well. Does he have Empoleon on his team since that is the only water/steel type? ( I think. It had been a while since i played Pokémon.)

If i can suggest an idea for Patroclus, have you thought having him a normal type trainer? He could still use dual types along it fitting with ppl underestimating him then getting their ass kicked by him.

but only if you want! I just like the idea of ppl being like ‘pat who’ then after getting defeated, they are like ‘Patroclus, the best of the gym leaders’ lol

The river lethe as a theme gym sounds amazing~~~~

Oh! And the fact that the legendary Pokémon just vibes with Hypnos and his family is such a funny idea. Imagine Christmas with all of them and all of the family Pokémon in one place. XD
