i feel like Mav is like the proudest dad in the world and talks about the Daggers all the time but rarely uses their actual names which often results in people thinking he has wayyy less kids then he actually does

like people will talk to him and he mentions his “darling baby boy, his oldest son, his baby bird” (Rooster) and tell stories about him and stuff, but he also tells stories about his “little spitfire, the troublemaker,” (Hangman) and somewhere along the way it gets misinterpreted that these are the same people

this happens with several of the daggers until everyone is a mixture of everyone and the only idenifiers are that sometimes Mav says his daughter instead of his son and general age range.

there’s probably a debate/bet between a lot of the people who have heard the stories but dont know who the Daggers are about how many kids Mav actually has

The general consensus is that he has 4, but guesses range anywhere between 3-9 (3 as the min because his oldest who is assumed to be boy, at least 1 girl, and a youngest boy. 9 because theres so many damn stories that theres no way its just three kids)

Mav also conviently forgets to mention that he didnt actually raise any of them but Bradley, leading to further confusion.

There isnt even any indication that he didnt raise them, because with the stories he tells, you can apply pretty much any age between 8-35 to them and it would still make decent sense.

This all comes to head in one of 2 ways

first one is a random officer or something noticing the picture of the whole squad on Mavs desk.

officer: Oh, what’s that, sir?

mav, absolutely beaming: oh! those are my kids!

officer: oh, thats so sweet! which ones are yours?

mav: all of them!!

officer: *shocked pikachu*

Or, alternatively, the scuttlebutt makes its way back to one of the daggers

another random officer: Oh hey, Fanboy, you’ve worked with Maverick, right?

Fanboy: yeah, why?

officer: do you know how many kids he has? we’re debating it

Fanboy: uh… none, i guess? i mean maybe 1 but Rooster isnt technically his kid

officer: okay ur either lying or insane

there's evidence for both my bartkon and timkon affinities on this blog (and the much rarer, most refined of timbarts)

the truth is i like pretty much any ship as long as its got an interesting dynamic to play off of (and usually comedy potential) and kon is a great character because he has an interesting dynamic with basically everybody

the yj crew in general has kind of a perfect blend of defined characters and interesting dynamics that could create all kinds of cool story potential, romantic or not. but vis a vis Romances Specifically..... hold on you've got me thinking about this now im gonna do a thing one sec

cissie and anita are such perfect foils for each other man.... if yj 98 picked back up where it left off, i think anita's parents should be aged up again pretty quickly, but in the interim i would love to see these two forced into a caretaking duo

anita + slobo, self explanatory. nobody knows whats going on with them except for them and i think that's beautiful. matching each others freak 4ever

i think most of them should have unrequited crushes on each other bc it would be funny namely the slobo>thad>kon clone crush conga line + the kon>bart>tim pining isoceles

greta queen of unrequited pining she is out here stalking she is out here threatening perceived romantic rivals she is ending the world she does it all and not having powers would not stop her

tim dating bernard is canon but i think it would be funny if they're both also into kon (plus ideally steph would lowkey be dating tim too + dating cass but that's batfam shit Whatever)

medium hot take i think kon and cassie should date sometimes bc they're best friends and love each other. just constantly walking the line of platonic/romantic and changing statuses every other month

love cissiecassie but i also think it's funnier if they've never kissed and just thought really hard about it and there was never a right time

cassie + rose self explanatory they should invent new and fucked up ways to murder each other romantically

i also want cassie chronically fumbling a rotating cast of civilian/villain/hero side characters bc she's got that peter parker syndrome where she can pull anybody and everybody but the universe is not on her side when it comes to being a good girlfriend (especially now that dc seems committed to tim no longer fumbling all of his relationships. gang we need a fumbler and cassie is right there)

i realize now i made a chart for romance but the only two i have actually dating is tim/bernard lol. the rest are either unrequited or "it's complicated"

So now that Marvel has made a pretty good Spiderman show with an artstyle inspired by the work of John Romita when the fuck is DC gonna lock in and adapt the style of Dan Mora into an animated feature film the likes of which the world has never seen

The crosshatching and gradient combo to show distance, his use of shadow, his water effects, his color palettes, DC GET UP!! Right now!! Adapting the style would not be easy but it can be done!

He has two sides;

the guy that wanted to found a village with someone who he was raised to be his enemy. The same guy that laughs easily and whose vice is gambling (and spoils his granddaughter rotten)

He’s also the guy that said this, which seemed to shock even Madara

He’s a little two faced when you look at what we know. He is cable of doing things most wouldn’t even consider, but he hides it so well~ which is why I kinda laugh when people just write him off as a bubbly airhead

There’s a lot that can be read into him as a character and I consider that to be a good thing ✨
