Damian stood outside the manor, watching as the limousine pulled up. There you were—gorgeous, even in the early morning light. He’d seen you a thousand times, but each time you arrived, his heart still skipped a beat.

He couldn’t tear his eyes away from you, until you snapped your fingers in front of him.

"Lost, Romeo?" you teased, a playful glint in your eyes.

“Tsk, I was just lost in thought,” he muttered, trying to play it cool.

“Uh-huh. And I don’t see the drool on your chin,” you shot back, grinning.

Damian froze, quickly dabbing at his lips with a handkerchief. “Tt,” he muttered, trying to maintain some dignity.

You both laughed, and without another word, he led you to the elevator. His hand lingered on the small of your back, guiding you inside, his touch possessive yet gentle.

The doors slid shut, and just as the elevator began to move, the lights flickered—then went out completely. The sudden darkness swallowed everything. The hum of the elevator stopped, leaving a suffocating silence.

Damian cursed under his breath. “Of course.”

You leaned into him, your body pressing just a little closer in the pitch-black space. “Perfect timing,” you whispered, your breath warm against his ear.

Before he could respond, you kissed him. It was sudden, electric—your lips crashing together with an intensity that left no room for hesitation. His hand shot to your back, pulling you against him, the heat of your body making his pulse race.

The kiss deepened, raw and desperate, both of you consumed by the moment. Damian’s fingers slid down to your hips, guiding you closer, as if the tight space of the elevator was the only place he wanted to be. His mouth moved over yours, devouring the taste of you, his hands exploring the soft curve of your back.

You responded with equal fervor, your body pressing into his, matching his intensity. The world outside didn’t exist anymore—only the press of your lips, the taste of each other, and the need to be closer.

When the lights flickered back on, neither of you broke away. The elevator resumed its slow climb, but the heat between you two remained, neither of you willing to let go.

sctir is such a good story if you're obsessed with worldbuilding Implications because yoojin is also Constantly thinking about that stuff. He's just a (previously) regular guy who has to live in this weird urban portal fantasy world so he cares about stuff like tax brackets and zoning laws and fair contract-writing and alternative uses of everyone's crazy supernatural powers. I can't count the number of times I started thinking "wait, couldn't you-" only to have it answered the next sentence. When his internal monologue mentioned dungeon resets being used for public waste disposal i practically cheered

Reinforcing my "Dazai didn't know anything about Chuuya's acting in Meursault" version of the events by pointing at this moment

This scene plays out like a series of wrong turns, with Dazai having had the forethought of checking the elevator cables just in case, but then having to improvise on the fly to keep both himself and Sigma alive. When the flooding turns out to only have been part 1, and having no ways to stop the elevator from falling, he decides to save Sigma at his own peril because he made a promise and won't bring Sigma down with him. One last person saved.

Dazai dropping little hints of why he's doing all that to Sigma on their way there reads less like a manipulation tactic, since he actually avoids telling too much, and more like tragic storytelling when Dazai is, in the end, left with no choice but to hand Sigma the reins and hope it works out.

Dazai was probably really surprised the fall in the elevator didn't kill him, or he would have told Sigma to hold on and trust him, I think. Everything "conveniently" happened the way it did because we're telling a story and we're trying to hit specific beats.

It works better as a story, thematically, if Dazai wasn't pulling at every string but was saved by his numerous allies working alongside him. Chuuya was sent/came in undercover as backup. Sigma empathized and tried to complete Dazai's mission. They managed to "kill" Fyodor because Ranpo helped, even from far away, by allying with Bram. Dazai's hand was "full of uncertain cards", to quote him, and it was his friends and allies that got him out in the end.

For the first bit of dialogue here with Floweys internal monologue- OUGH I LOVE IT! I will NEVER get sick of getting into his head, he’s like us! a theorist! his thought process here is so me.… “ive never thought of the possibility that Papyrus might have been involved as well…” Welllllllll… You’re half right.

Im also looking forward to seeing the part of Wingdings’ story that explains Papyrus’ conveyor belt related trauma- cause cmon man whats wrong with conveyer belts 😭

Papyrus basically having a conversation with himself while Flowey just goes and does his own thing is SO REAL ALSO I LOVE HIM SO MUCH

Talking about the actual dialogue for a second- trying not to get too carried away only focusing on the visuals.

Im very concerned we’re going to have a moment with the power going out, Papyrus and Flowey being stuck without the elevator just like Alphys and Wingdings were. Some chicanery is gonna happen comparing and contrasting how they handle that compared to the 2 scientists. Ofc thats a lot of speculation- But I cant help but feel like the talk about “the energy hopfully lasting long enough” is leading up to something….not fun.

Maybe what they do down here is a weird time mumbo jumbo that is important to make what happens in the past- happen. Maybe thats why Gaster is watching them…
