Realizing how huge this thing is gets followed by realizing how far off the ground it is. Meaning that if some A-hole wanted to tear it down, they would have an absolute hell of a time doing so. And have to actually put their life on the line like these people did, because rock climbing isn't exactly a perfectly safe activity and, again, that's really high off the ground.

I made a thing. Might turn it into a button/keychain. Maybe a shirt? It'll be variable by the t-shirt design/flag.
What do you think? (PS. If you don't like it, don't look at it.)

People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.
For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.
The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.
So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.
Edit: if you are able, use $5 you would otherwise use for a streaming subscription to donate to a GazaFunds campaign.

Yeah no I didn’t “always know I was trans” but I WAS incredibly defensive of a girl’s ability and personal desire to do absolutely anything a boy could do, repeatedly throwing down against parents and teachers who insisted that girls and boys were just naturally predisposed to distinct binary interests and abilities, often telling them that short hair and masculine interests didn’t make me less of a girl because physical traits and hobbies don’t retroactively determine your gender or sexual identity. Yeah I’m actually still onboard with that belief by the way, not sure how some of yall lost the plot

Being forcefully raised as a woman is not any less traumatic and emotionally repressive as being forcefully raised as a man. Femininity is not inherently pure and safe. Coercing someone to perform femininity is not any less toxic than coerced masculinity. Being dysphoric around femininity or having trauma from women doesn’t make you a misogynist.

A part of Odysseus doesn't trust his own words, but if love needs trust and trust grants love, then he's betting everything that Penelope is fighting, suffering, and longing just as much as him.
This post is kind of a build off from this one!

“America has no culture” is an inherently racist statement. Especially when talking about California, which has enormous populations (yes, plural) of Hispanic and Asian immigrants.
It’s such a self report that you see the American hegemony, the American monolith, as a singularly white entity that’s worthy of scorn. I want that person to look at the Black American NYC Miku design and tell me with their full chest that that isn’t culture. Especially when modern pop culture owes so much to Black American culture — hip hop, language, streetwear and fashion, pop music, jazz — as is actively erasing their roots, saying all of America has no culture is a dumbass statement.
Also, “all the US Mikus are dressed in generic casual street style for coolish weather.” The original Brazilian Miku is wearing sunglasses, a crop top, short shorts, a bikini, and flip flops you absolute dunce. If you’re gonna be rude at least be consistent.

there's something about neil and the ease with which he withstands torture but is fully undone by simple pleasure. 2 weeks in the nest that he can barely remember but his refusal to bend to riko and tetsuji is Easy for him. not even the slightest temptation to sign their contract because pain is something so easily endured. neil kisses andrew and it is the worst thing and best thing that ever happens to him. his father and lola and his mother trained him to endure a million different kinds of pain to survive but it's andrew kissing him that neil decides to die for. he has noo defenses against andrew's touch it breaks him down in a way all the pain and torture was never able to do. makes you think huh.

I think we all need a reminder that the word “theyfab” was originally created to hurt nonbinary people, specifically nonbinary people who use they/them and were (assumed to be) AFAB.
The word “theyfab” is exorsexist, first and foremost. It can also be transandrophobic, because some nonbinary people are transmasculine and it does occasionally get used against trans men. However, if you claim theyfab was invented as a slur for trans men first and foremost, you are erasing the experiences of another invisible community.
Trans men are treated terribly on here. But please don't contribute to the erasure of nonbinary people when you're fighting against transandrophobia. We’re in this together, and we need to have each other's backs.

letting celebrities think they can and should "use their platform" to speak on all current events and political issues regardless of how educated they are on them was a grave mistake
